A: The color grade is a brand new addition that tracks how well you yourself are performing. My understanding is that it does not directly correlate to what opponents you get. You'll be at certain grades while others will be at totally other grades and these are meant to be a representation of how much you've been playing and advancing your characters, NOT how "good" you are. There is some controversy about this, others can tell you more.
B: "4K" simply means killing all four survivors. To many it is the ultimate goal of a match, though that is entirely up to the player to determine.
C: Leveling and prestiging: Here's what I found. If you spread bloodpoints around a bunch of different characters, thus unlocking lots of teachables and slowly building up multiple people, you will sort of be "spreading the butter thin". What I personally prefer to do is try to build up a character who has perks that I really want and then unlock those perks to be available for other characters (which randomly start showing up in everyone else's bloodweb). If you instead build up a lot of characters slowly instead of one character specifically, you'll wind up with a load of perks that you may not want filling up the bloodwebs instead of the select few that you're specifically seeking. In short: The more perks you unlock / "teach", the more those perks will potentially impede your ability to get your top-most desired perks on the characters you want them on.
As for prestiging, keep in mind that you lose ALL accumulated things for that character (other than outfits) and start over from scratch. At level 50 the bloodweb is massive, a good 50,000 sink just to flip it to a new bloodweb with a new selection of items, so I learned the hard way to try to focus on one character at a time, build them up, get them as many of the great perks as I like, and ONLY prestige them if they get all the way to level 50 and are still missing perks that I really want on them. At that point it's sometimes better to start over with smaller, cheaper bloodwebs that don't cost nearly as much to work through. Also remember that prestiging will only give you bloody clothes and a very, very minor chance at getting higher quality items. Not the big deal some make it out to be.
D: You have every right to camp and tunnel and this is coming from a survivor main. It's a valid strategy. But yes, it DOES suck for survivor (camping in particular, as the person being camped can't play their game), so whether to do it is up to you. Just keep in mind that tunneling the same character over and over all game is considered harassment so use god judgment. General rule: As long as you're playing within the stated rule of the game, you don't need to concern yourself with comments from people complaining about how you play. Obey the rules but otherwise play how YOU feel comfortable playing.
E: Others may disagree but I value sportsmanship tremendously and do everything I can to reduce the toxicity of this community by letting people know that there are respectful players. I never, every teabag at the exit gate (I just leave, there's no point other than to be a jerk) and I always go out of my way to go for two hooks MAX (only if they haven't already slipped into hook stage two) and no kills if I see cakes or party streamers. I can always get good points as killer, I have no reason to deliberately play hard and deprive survivors who are looking to boost their relatively low points using special items. As I say in end-game chat, "No one dies when I see cake". :)
F: "Sides". This forum seems to be marginally more killer-sided that I see elsewhere, and some are way more vocal than others, so be prepared to see a lot of complaints about survivor behavior, survivor builds, etc. In my experience the game is more or less balanced. There are heroes and villains on both sides. Again, my advice is to be a good example and just try to play respectfully. By all means try to fulfill whatever win conditions matter to you, but don't be a jerk about it and you'll be a standout regardless of which side you play. And do play both roles if you can. You learn a lot that way.
G: The most commonly regarded "top" killers are Spirit and Nurse, in that order, because their powers of teleportation and tracking are strong without much downside, tells, or consistent ability to outplay them. I like Nurse alright, not a fan of facing spirit. Some people love Ghostface, as a killer who has the ability to be silent ans sneaky he makes me tense and often frustrated. He and Wraith are my least favorite killers for this reason. Hag is also disliked by many for her camping style and the abrupt nature of the execution of her traps, which can be startling. Huntress is a mixed bag - she's a basic killer but deadly in the right hands. I've found (and others will disagree) that Pig, Pyramid Head, Oni, Trapper, Deathslinger, Hillbilly, and maybe a few others are a fair challenge that don't seem heavily weighted one way or the other. Also stay away from Leatherface, he has one-hit downs and loves to camp. Pinhead is too early, there are mixed feelings about him as is the case with all brand new killers.
H: Haven't tried mobile, unfortunately.
For what it's worth I've been playing the game an average of 2-6 hours every couple of days for the last six months and am 800 hours in. This is a game of practice and patience, and lots of experimentation and learning. While I'm no expert, I'm good, and I'm happy to provide feedback where I can. If I can give you any advice it's to have fun with this game overall, try not to let naysayers, complainers or toxic players influence your matches or how you feel playing them. Don't look at things as a grind and just have fun. Every match is a chance for more points, as well as a chance to learn and improve. Just enjoy yourself and don't take things too seriously. Good luck!

It sounds like you're really being bogged down by the toxicity which, at the moment, is on the rise. These things kind of come and go in waves though. It isn't likely to be permanent (I mean, toxicity in general always will be, it's the nature of both online gaming and human beings in general, but the specific degree of toxicity that you're experiencing now likely will not be).
If you're feeling exasperated it's good to take a break. It's always good. Too many people keep pushing when they're frustrated when in fact what they should do is stop and think "am I happier or less happy doing this right now? Is this making my day better or is it making it worse"? And if the answer is the latter, it's a good time to pull back.
You don't have to bail for good. Try not to let the jerks get to you, as difficult as we all know this can sometimes be. The game will still be waiting for you should you decide to come back, which I hope you will. We're not all like those people, and you're definitely not alone in your frustration. Give it some time.

Well I was just using the streamers bit as an example since I do think their mindset is present in a lot of players more or less. A lot in the forums to be precise since I'm sure most of them doesn't understand what they're saying when they're throwing this DBD terms around.
It's alright. I don't have anything personal against anyone who watches or otherwise supports streamers. I'm just one of the people who are of the belief that the opinions of streamers or "content creators" (I don't like using that term myself) are generally given way too much weight without the objective dissection or even outright dismissal that a lot of other peoples' opinions are.
I mean, I've been playing games for 38 years, I don't consider myself an expert on the industry nor do I feel that people should value my opinion more than those of someone who may disagree with me. Experience makes a difference, yes, but some people who play this game are looked up to - in my opinion - far more than they should be simply because they have fun personalities and make money doing the same thing that all the rest of us do.

What point did I miss? You imply that if content creators want something, it happens, not a single content creator that I know wanted it.
What point did I miss? Or do you just say that when something is provably against what you say?
Relax. My sarcasm was directed at the people who seem to labor under the delusion that if a streamer says something, it's got to be true and should be enacted right away.

I just got a penalty for the server crashing. Hard. Profound lag (we're talking a frame or two of movement every five seconds) with the audio even cutting as if someone was pausing and unpausing a video over and over for half a minute. Then the game just sat there frozen and silent for another minute until audio of the score tally screen kicked in. Eventually the video caught up and said that the server was unavailable, and that I'd escaped (I had actually been on a hook, in fact) and earned points. The killer was shown as disconnected. The remaining survivor was shown as still being in the finished match. I got a several-minute DC penalty.
-
I feel sorry for killers when they get Haddonfield and I'm a survivor main.
-
I've absolutely been having fun as both roles. With a handful of exceptions, whatever they've done has been working for me. Matches feel much more balanced.

I'm not trying to fight, I have no reason to have anything against you. I was just saying that I already acknowledged that I wasn't trying to hijack your thread. I apologize if you felt that I was, but I don't like being told how to post. Let's just call it even.

Survivor: Meg and Kate. They're my two beautiful girls. Their cosmetics are fantastic. As a straight male I never thought I'd spend a couple hundred dollars on virtual paper dolls but here I am, LOL. I like several other characters as well, male and female, but those are my two "mains". My build is stealthy, aura perks and evasion / cooperative so that I can sneak around and get things done while avoiding the killer when I can.
Killer: Doctor. The game lists him as "hard" but when I was experimenting with finding a killer that I was comfortable with, that I could use effectively and not feel like an idiot with, Doctor almost immediately fit the bill. I'm not pretty good with him, though I love Plague as well (even if I'm not anywhere near as good with her). My build is fairly meta - NOED, Ruin, Monitor, and BBQ. The first is for my last minute attempts at kills (which sometimes I don't even go for all game), ruin and monitor are for helping me out with gen pressure, and BBQ is primarily just for the extra BP.
-
Love: Pig (she's so cute, and I love Saw), Pyramid Head (tricky but fair), Huntress (same), Slinger (same), Oni (terrifying), Doc (my boy), Pinhead and Plague (love the aesthetic and mechanics).
Like: Nemesis (fairly easy), Demo, Nurse, Trapper, Clown (interesting and somewhat unpredictable).
Dislike: Spirit, Legion (too fast and cheap for me), Leatherface (oh look, insta-downs and camping, I am thoroughly surprised by this), Myers (I appreciate the fidelity to the character but facing him is basically just waiting for a timer to tick down to insta-down time), Blight (didn't mind him until suddenly everyone figured out that he existed and turned him into Meta Man over the last couple of months).
Despise: Trickster (don't like anything about him, dull and irritating opponent), Hag (crawling around all day only for the camera to violently JERK and the game SCREAM at me is soooo fun!) Ghostface (not a fan of silent killers and instant downs), Wraith (despise his cheap, repetitive ass with a passion, I never want to see him again).
Don't exist: Twins, Billy

Which is why the suggestion of built-in voice comms is usually shot down. We all know what this community is capable of, and I'm not in the mood to be called slurs in either language I know them in
Yeah I mean I can understand the desire for it, I just don't have the faith that it would work out (for pretty much the exact reason you said). I couldn't stand listening to 13 year-old children shouting slurs and making garbled remarks against the backdrop of overly loud tinny hip-hop music in games that DIDN'T have a super toxic community.
-
I wouldn't use voice chat myself. No disrespect to anyone on this forum (and I mean that, I have no personal grudge against anyone here) but as a whole, this community is not something I'd want coming through my headset every day.

I ran into a Freddy today they were only running Hangman's Trick, and when one of us asked "Hangmans Trick? Doing the challenge?" the Killer just said "the joke is I am hanging myself this week", and then nothing else he probably left.
We made a support ticket, and tried to send them friend invites, but haven't gotten a response. I hope the person is doing okay. Honestly the situation is an eye opener to the amount of stress Killers get in this game, and I'm sure he is probably going through something personal in his life too.
Taking one's life as a result of finding the killer role stressful is kind of a stretch. I feel for you (and this person, obviously), you've attempted to do the right thing, but I wouldn't automatically equate this person's comment about allegedly planning to kill themselves as evidence that the game is in any way at fault.

80% of this game is filled with #########. There are some decent people out there but not many. As for the things you describe it would have to be some really bad toxic clowns to get me to sit there and throw hatchets at you on the ground. I do have a couple things I do that some might consider toxic, I will slug for the 4k (meaning 2 survivors left, down 3rd, get te 4th) but I still let one go usually. I like to close hatch/carry to hatch and close it, then carry them to gate (While they open it I can break pallets, max out power score, etc). Outside of that the REAL toxic ######### no I don't do that.
I don't think that's toxic, I see it as good strategy. I've done it sometimes myself and I play the killer role far less than most. I mean why not? If I hook one and let the last survivor keep running around while I do, maybe they'll find the hatch. If I slug one and go for the other then I'm more likely to complete a 4K. Slugging and then immediately proceeding to try to win the match when it's just two people left isn't toxic, slugging everybody and then just standing there watching everyone bleed out for five minutes is toxic.

I mean survivors have little skill too, billy chainsaw across the map while avoiding everything just for you to walk to the left or right to dodge his ability. What takes more skill? Landing a chainsaw sprint or slightly moving to the side?
Well to be fair landing Billy's chainsaw and the survivor's attempt to avoid it both basically come down to pressing left or right.
I'm not trying to shame killers or anything, I've got Doc in my avatar because I love playing him. I've just noticed that killer mains seem to do the most complaining on this board (though it's pretty damn close). I've always found the "hold W to win" argument to be a gross oversimplification of the survivor's role and could just as easily say "press the power button to win" which I think would irritate the other "side" just as much. Both killers AND survivors clearly have to do more than simply "move" to win a match.
I don't know. Too much hyperbole in the community.

They quite clearly are random if you ask me. Maybe after 1000's of hours they have discerned a pattern, and they know when the rng loads them far, or close, ahead or behind. At an angle. Or sets of 2, or 3 and 1. All together, or all separate. They are just masters of observation and I will never be on their level. They just naturally learned all the spawns of dozens of maps, they can feel it based on the direction of the wind.
LOL there are some players that pay WAY more attention to this kind of thing than I do so I guess, to be fair, I'm not entirely sure.
Aside from the offerings I basically just figured that it was an RNG thing. Make sure there's at least X amount of distance so the two sides don't spawn face to face, make sure that no one spawns inside a solid object, but other than that, boom.
-
If one is, even hypothetically, not allowed to regress their grade, what is the reason for that?
-
I find it funny how many people complain that "all survivors do is hold down a single button to run away". As opposed to killers, who have to press a single button to attack them.

To be fair, that is a problem too. The people who pretend they learned they spawns have clearly never run Lethal Pursuer... That is all I can say.
I always assumed that the spawn points were generally random. Are they not?

Only a few days, probably just because I had too many sweaty ######### frustrating me and I knew I needed a bit of a break. I've only been playing the game for 6 months though.

We know how the grade system works, there's nothing to 'prove' or disprove, it's a fact of the system.
You gain and lose pips just like the old rank system.
You can't go down a grade, so you can lose pips within a grade, but if you're at Grade... Gold III and have zero pips, you're safe, but as soon as you gain a pip, that pip is vulnerable to be lost.
So basically, all you have to do is gain more pips than you lose, within a span of four to five pips, per grade, and you just keep gaining grades.
...If I don't know how the grade system works then it hasn't been proven as fact to me, which is why I asked. I would like to know how and when these facts came to light and what they actually say. All I see are people going on about what liars the folks at BHVR are.
-
Deathslinger isn't the easiest killer to start with. I had to go through a few different killers to find the one that worked best for me. In my case it was Doctor. By playing him, and playing him a LOT, I started developing the fundamentals and learning survivor behavior well enough to transfer those skills to some other killers. Even still, after 700+ hours, there are many killers I don't want to touch yet.
Also, try not to be offended by mocking or ridicule from survivors. I know that this can be hard and frustrating at times but that's just the nature of not only this game but sadly the gaming community and even humankind itself. Don't be discouraged by anonymous fools who take joy in your loss. Ignore them and move onto your next match which always has the chance of being better.
Speaking of being better, give it time. You need to practice, and with the new ranking system the game also needs to figure out the right place for you to belong. You need to play more matches for things to sort of "settle".
Don't be discouraged and don't give up. This is a game of patience.

I was just curious because I put all three in the same category, myself. I use them all. Personally I feel like Evil Within is way easier to use because survivors cannot break your power by looking at you and I can mass slug, and I find Pig to be more "cheap" because of rng. So I just personally found it strange that you specified Ghostface as I always say him as the more "honest" of the 3.
Either way, I see where you are coming from. At least Myers and Pig kind of have conditions to remove their radius and their powers are finite with some tradeoffs.
To be fair I have a bit of objective difficulty separating Pig from Ghostface since they are, in fact, very similar in several ways. I guess for me it's the fact that Ghostface is pretty much all silence all the time, whereas Pig's powers require her to make noise. Also the secondary element of her traps which add more strategy (in my opinion anyway). Plus, some of it is admittedly confirmation bias because I see Ghostface probably eight times more on average than I see Pig.
Don't get me wrong, I think that very, very few killers in this game are simply "pick up the controls and start your killing spree". I'm sure that to use him effectively takes time and effort. The cheapness I speak of refers more to how unfair it feels to be trying to get through a match only to suddenly be ambushed out of nowhere by a silent killer that can hardly be seen.
I know, I know. One of these days I'll start running Spine Chill. :P

I'm surprised that they haven't just taken him to his logical conclusion and given him a gun yet.
Because BHVR typically balance by stats. If their stats say he's fine, by their metrics, they will not touch him.
If he wrecks lower ranks, like most killers do, but doesn't perform as well at higher SBMM, they won't care. And I doubt we will ever see the stats soon, so we don't know what their data is with him. We probably won't for a good long while, if ever.
I'm still at the point where I am baffled anybody has trouble against Wrath, he's still one of the easiest killers to against for me. But that's just differing experiences.
I don't want to turn this into a Wraith discussion (not that I'm saying you are, I'm the one who brought him up) but just to address your comment it's really a matter of him being too easy to use, too many abilities that work too well together, too few ways to counter them (the arguments are always "use flashlights, run spine chill, loop constantly, play with headphones, and be by windows at all times, which is frankly kind of ridiculous to expect out of anybody to reasonably defend against a single killer). Wraith games are cheap. Run up while invisible, turbo uncloak (often while silent), super lunge for free hit, rinse, wash, repeat. How anyone doesn't at least consider the possibility that this is cheap is beyond me, but as you said, different experiences. Everyone hates the Nurse, I enjoy facing her. :)

How is Ghostface sneaky and cheap, but Myers and Pig are chill? What is the difference?
I didn't specify that they aren't, in fact I agree that Myers is sneaky and I generally don't enjoy facing him. In fact I generally don't enjoy facing any killer that can just turn off their terror radius, one of the few allegedly guaranteed tools that a survivor is supposed to be able to defend themselves with. That said, I think that there's more to Pig (the reverse bear traps) and Michael's power is at least rooted in fidelity to the character. Ghostface is just the "turn off the TR, creep in the grass, and get one-hit down" guy. No offense to anyone who uses him (including yourself, I presume, as you have him in your avatar), but I just don't think that there's a good balance between what is required for what he's able to accomplish. I can respect that he's not as easy to use as some other killers but I still find him cheap.

I know (or at least have heard). That was just one of my jabs at the worshipful nature that the community at large has towards "content creators" (AKA people who play this game a lot and thus are assumed to know what's best for it).

The best course of action imo is to nerf the top 3 and then balance around that instead. Much easier than making every killer nurse/spirit strength
No. The content "creators" have spoken. BHVR must do as they say.
-
Nurse is probably 60/40 in my experience. The other day, while rare, we all escaped a Spirit who was using survivor pudding. Blight's gotten up there but so has Wraith, regardless of how many killer mains want to protect him from criticism. Hag and Ghostface are still super sneaky, cheap killers. People main Trickster enough to be decent with him now. Pinhead is doing fine. I've seen people killed, or been killed by, everyone from Deathslinger to Demogorgon. Leatherface is still guaranteed to get at least one kill, especially if he camps like he pretty much always does. I get 4Ks with Doc on a regular basis.
My point is that this is anecdotal but no, I disagree that only a negligible percentage of the killers in this game are effective.

@JamieARose said:
My last 10 games have been full of all the nausea you just described. The matchmaking is now 100x worse than it was before and survivor toxicity is just as bad as it's always been. New players getting chased away from this game? Seems like they're being done a favor. Getting away from this terribly balanced joke of a game. I don't know why you expect killers should be polite when survivors are rude and the game badly favors survivors to the point where killers are lucky if they get a sacrifice at all.
I disagree with this. At least in part. Survivors are unquestionably toxic. As someone who plays both sides (an emphasis on survivor, but both sides nonetheless), I absolutely agree that survivors make killer games much more frustrating than is necessary. I made a joke the other day about how funny it would be if a mechanic was introduced that would kill survivors who teabag at the gate. Maybe it shouldn't be a joke after all.
However, that said, by resorting to the "sided" debate it's just absolving the other "side" of all blame. When I get a bad crop of survivors I'm not immature enough to take out my anger on the next group that had nothing to do with it. In fact I often choose to let survivors escape just for the hell of it. In one match a survivor teabagged me after I was nice enough to deliberately spare them after their second hook, because I saw that someone had brought an anniversary cake, so I figured "alright, then I guess you WANT me to kill you. Guess what, your teammates all get to live now".
So I mean I understand your point but I don't think that it's entirely fair to say "what do you expect, killers are jerks because the game is survivor-sided". That simplifies the argument in a way that puts the onus on only one group to play this game respectfully.
-
Damn KM, you talk too much. ;P
In all seriousness I've noticed what you're talking about, yes. There have been times in the past where killers have toyed with me for no apparent reason other than pure toxicity, trying to lead me to think that they're being magnanimous when in fact they're just prolonging the end of the match so they can betray me at the last minute. They remain blissfully unaware that I'm cynical and distrustful by nature so as soon as it happened once I now assume that it's going to happen again anytime anyone shows the signs. Just the other day someone slugged me at the end of the match, brought me to the door, and spent a good 30 seconds getting me back up. I told my friend, who was spectating, "watch. You KNOW what's going to happen. Should we be surprised?" and sure enough, once the player went through all the nonsensical time-wasting theatrics and allowed me to crawl within an inch of the gate, he picked me back up and returned me to a hook. "I am so utterly surprised", I told my friend as he laughed. "This is just so thoroughly unexpected".
I've gotten a couple of "haha, no hatch for you" time-wasting plays as well lately. So yeah, I have to agree, while I haven't seen a SUBSTANTIAL uptick in this unique kind of killer toxicity, I HAVE nonetheless seen more of it lately than I used to. The part that doesn't make much sense to me (other than everything else about it) is that I don't behave in a way that calls for it, I don't use keys or maps or flashlights and I never teabag. Just a killer being a jerk for no apparent reason. Not that survivors don't do the same thing on a regular basis though.
As I said, I'm cynical by nature. In a way I'm surprised that I don't see this kind of childish crap MORE often.
-
The majority of games I solo against him are losses, yet, but I also get wins sometimes. I enjoy facing him.
-
I do prefer the original RE3 look for Nemesis but to be honest I never thought he was very cool-looking in any iteration. He always struck me as just that game's gnarled beast but in human clothing for some reason (don't shoot me, I never played all the way through RE3 so if he has any cool lore I'm unfamiliar with it). The Tyrant looked cooler to me. Mr. X is cool. Nemesis is just a dumb goon whose only real attraction was being able to actually chase you through the game, a novelty at that time.
I guess - and I'm sorry, Nemesis fans - what I'm saying is that I never found the appearance of the character threatening or especially interesting.

I try not to play Wraith because I feel cheap and disrespectful to survivors when I do (I'm serious, that's how far it's come) so I don't know how much of his kit is base and how much of it is add-ons, perks and everything else. All I know is that I don't feel that he should be invisible, AND super fast while invisible, AND be able to see where everyone and everything is while invisible, AND be able to go in and out of invisibility within the span of two seconds, AND do it in complete silence, AND have a super lunge every time he does, AND be able to use all of the above with absolutely no cooldown or compensatory punishment whatsoever. I'm surprised that they haven't just taken him to his logical conclusion and given him a gun yet.
Er, I mean, "he's fine, he's barely C-tier. I'm just mad because I can't "bully him anymore".

there are many exceptions but I agree. Many people of the community take the words from their fav streamer as if from a higher being. In the end many of those streamers are promoting toxic and/or sweaty behavior by themselves and then complain about them..
It's probably safe to say that most of us enjoy SOME person or persons who play video games online. I used to love the Angry Video Game Nerd, shallow and juvenile as he was, before I learned more about the type of person he seems to be and the questionable history of some of the people he's chosen to associate with. I loved the Two Best Friends / Super Best Friends before they split a couple of years ago. Rooster Teeth had some great stuff (and I'm sure still does) before one of their members was exposed as an emotionally and physically manipulative sexual predator.
I just don't like the influence they have. They're just people. They're not even celebrities and I don't care what THEY have to say either. Actors play pretend for a living, I don't need them preaching to me about what I should think politically. Similarly I don't need some kid ten years my junior trying to change my opinion of what aspects of a video game are good and bad based on their own subjective enjoyment which is itself partly (if not wholly) dictated by their quest for more views and, as such, more money to prevent them from having to actually work for a living.
I'm not targeting anyone specifically, though there are some public gamers that I despise for their antics (none that are major DBD players that I know of, being that I've only been playing this game for half a year and stay away from the stream crowd). But I do see a handful of names repeated here constantly - as in literally every day - regarding just about every subject I can think of, and usually as a means by which to end a debate. "Well Joe Blow says...", etc.
Everyone is free to like who they want and watch who they like for whatever reason that they choose. I just find it obnoxious to see the opinions of some random people given SO much weight just because they happen to play a game a lot, opinions shared and games played primarily as a means by which to make money. I find someone like that to be inherently biased, their opinions meaningless to me.

I thought that this might have been about killer / survivor spawn distances. I still have an old game recorded in which the four of us spawned at the exit gate at Gideon's, began making our way into the map, and Freddy's terror radius kicked in before we even left the room. It was six seconds into the match. Six.

Before the MM change I seemed to hover around rank 12 on average as solo survivor (my main choice). That was a combination of my, well, I suppose mid-level skill coupled with the fact that I didn't try very hard once I got to the next rank, which is when things started getting noticeably more aggressive.
Which in turn leads to your second question, which is that my playstyle is stealthy. I do gens, I do saves, I heal, I do totems, I even occasionally run interference, but on the whole I prefer to interact with the killer as little as possible. I find that to be much more fun. As such I rely almost primarily on aura perks and averaged maybe 15,000 per match because I lost out on chase / boldness points (which the game seemed to reward more aggressively than actually doing gens, which is weird, but I digress).
Can't quite remember where I was at as killer - probably around the same - but that one was hard to calculate because I'm an unusual killer, I enjoy sparing survivors just as much as killing them. For whatever it's worth when I'm killer I play Doc almost exclusively and have noticed that when I DO for kills I get 4Ks fairly regularly.

I saw this title and honestly thought that it was in reference to the "I'm quitting this game" posts.

I am generally not a fan of streamers, the attitudes that many of them appear to have, and the blind loyalty and influence that the most popular ones seem to command simply for
recording themselves playing a video game"creating" content. -
Gideon's is my favorite map on the game for either side.

I also got this email.
Nintendo DOES have crossplay with Microsoft in Minecraft I think. Or at the very least my understanding is that they're the only two platforms with open worlds (as opposed to size-limited ones, for those unfamiliar with the game). The game's got crossplay already, it would be nice if it also got cross-progression. One of the reasons I bought the Switch version half a year ago is because cross-progression was said to be coming soon by the devs. Still waiting.

That's the same lame excuse Bli$$ard used to hide MMR in Overwatch and it was a bad decision there too. It did nothing but fuel the fires as the game became more and more unbalanced.
Sorry. (*Shrug*)

Instead we should ram our heads against bad matchmaking without any idea of how to improve our experience.
I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that while the information would be useful to some, it would be abused by others.

The MMR is, at least supposedly separate from the Grades.
BUT
What is happening right now is... quite ludicrous:
You have the Grades and let's call what the MMR seems to be working with Levels.
The Grades rise steadily as you play and get reset every month.
Now, what SHOULD happen, and what we were PROMISED and what interestingly sorta worked during the tests is this:
Levels determine your matchups, Grades pretty much just measure how long you play and the speed of the increase might add into your level. When the grade reset comes you should be back at ash4 BUT still be matched against people of your skilllevel.
what, however IS happening by all means:
What's stated before that Grades are just fancier ranks that however SOMEHOW prevent matchmaking between too varied Levels while simultaneously NOT matching up equal levels.
I can't begin to fathom how you'd even manage to code this. Anyone remember the old simpsons episode where homer causes a nuclear fallout in a simulation with NO atomic material? This is that.
Yeah like I said this whole thing is still really confusing. At least I think so, anyway. I know that people have spoken recently about some kind of leak that allegedly proved or disproved some things about this whole system but I also saw mention that it's not really an encouraged subject so I won't go into it. I'll just say that while at the moment my games have been largely fine, if not in fact improved from before, it's obvious that not everyone can say the same. It's got to be really difficult to find a balance here.

replace the grade with a picture of the character.
I'd be totally on board with that.
