"I hope I cut myself shaving tomorrow, I hope it bleeds all day long.
Our friends say it's darkest before the sun rises, we're pretty sure they're all wrong!
I hope it stays dark forever.
I hope the worst isn't over!
I hope you blink before I do.
And I hope I NEVER get sober!
And I hope when you think of me years down the line, you can't find one good thing to say,
And I'd hope that if I'd found the strength to walk out, you'd STAY THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!"
- That looks like a contrast issue related, perhaps, to the "eye adjustment" effect. Never had it before but my guess is that it may only have been affecting things from your viewpoint and not the others.
-
Good lord, if I were in a 40 minute match against Wraith I'd have quit halfway through and set myself on fire.
My longest game was about 25-28 minutes, against the Trickster of all people. He was new, this was within the first few days after the PTB. I don't know if he was farming the whole match or not (this was literally within just a couple weeks of my first playing the game) but by the end, after I was the last survivor or two, I remember that I "looped" him at the shack for a good minute or so and at one point he stopped outside of it and nodded at me through the window. I believe that he could have gotten me based on how many whiffs he made but I was not yet accustomed to the idea that sometimes players (including myself) will go easy for various reasons.
-
I stand by what I keep saying. Give the camped survivor some extra BP. "Why should survivors be rewarded for being caught"? Well hooked survivors already get BP for struggling, right? Incentive for trying to stay in the game and compensation for being stuck in a crappy situation? Just add some points to the "sitting there defenseless" phase and have the accompanying text in the corner read "suffering".
Hell, if they wanted to they could even make it a diminishing multiplier situation in which the "suffering" bonus decreases as the match goes on to balance out the fact that people who are camped early get virtually nothing while people who get camped late got to enjoy a full match.
Nothing dramatic, just a little extra BP to make up for the fact that they can't play which still allows for the killer to play however they want. Boom, problem solved.
-
I did not disconnect. It's not true, it's bullshit! I did not disconnect. I did NAUGHT.
Ohai Mark!
-
No offense but to be honest I've seen a lot worse. Stuff like (intentionally die), extreme cursing, sexual and racial slurs, etc. From what I can tell (and to be fair I'm on 2 hours of sleep) this is just garden variety "wow, good for you, tunneling and camping" type of stuff. Which, to be fair, if that's what you're doing that's acceptable game behavior, but don't do it and expect people not to call you on it.
If I'm not getting the entirety of the situation though I apologize, I'm too tired to read the full thread.
EDIT: I DID glaze over the fact that everyone seemed to have had at least a somewhat competitive game. The complaints would have a little more merit if they were walking away with 3000 BP from a two minute loss.
EDIT 2: I'm seeing from this page that the issue is one of possible misunderstanding of tone and who was passive aggressive first. Maybe I should read the whole thing after all. But I can't right now because I'm too tired. Just ignore my lunatic ramblings.

he needs buffing im telling you and his lunge bug fixed he shouldnt break his own change because sometimes you just cant even walk round your own to avoid breaking them if chains are attached how the hell would you jump over a pallet? it shouldnt even be a thing lol
As they currently are, the chains grab onto and significantly slow survivors. That's already a huge disadvantage, especially considering that they come in near-constant volleys. If they also prevented the player from getting past pallets it would lead to unavoidable cornering and bodyblocking situations which would tilt the balance too far. At that point the chains might as well just hold the survivor in place until Pinhead strolls over for the free hit.
I can't speak for the lunge nerf, I don't have any experience with that.
-
I very much enjoy facing Pinhead. I honestly think that he's a great adversary exactly as is (I haven't played AS him yet, I'm not confident enough with the killer role to mess with the more complicated ones despite the fact that my boy Doc is listed as "hard"). I wouldn't change anything about him to be honest. It would be too oppressive for the chains, as common an element as they are in a Ceno match, to be unbreakable / unavoidable by a survivor's normal defenses.
-
Quit. Prioritize, man.

These threads never go well, do they?

Sephiroth, and FFVII as a whole, are some of the most overrated things to have ever existed. It's not even that they're crap. They're just not the GODLIKE things that people make them out to be (no pun intended).
I played the Final Fantasy series for years. FFIV and VI are among my favorite games of all time. All the same I don't want that series having anything to do with DBD whatsoever. Two wildly different franchises (hell, modern FF barely even resembles its own origins), two wildly different fanbases. Five Nights at Freddy's makes more sense and everyone has seen how well that's gone.

Camping isn't unfair, it just really sucks to be the person on the receiving end. There are few things worse in this game than waiting for the combined 2-6 minutes (average) for a match only to get tunneled, hooked, and facecamped within the first thirty seconds. You just wasted a total of nearly ten minutes of your life for, what, half the price of a rusty toolbox? Just because another player decided that his or her victory was more important than your ability to play your game? Like I said: That ######### sucks.
I've said before that there should be a way to ease this removal of the player's agency. A small amount of bloodpoints, at least enough to cover the cost of a single bloodweb item. Maybe a slowly increasing amount so that the more you have to sit and not play, the more your removal from the match will be balanced out. I don't know, there are probably a dozen different ways that the misery of being the person who gets camped could be mitigated without directly interfering with the match itself. I know that the argument is "why should you be rewarded for getting caught" and I understand that, there's logic to that point. But this is a game that rewards the player for almost everything that happens in a match, and the goal would be to lessen frustration for the person who's being denied the enjoyment of their game without preventing the opposing side from enjoying theirs. I refuse to believe that there can't be a middle ground, it just seems that the company isn't interested in looking for one.

I do not really keep track, but I do get a lot for whatever reason. Before first hook. Little rats deny me my Barbecue stacks. Disgusting.
LOL I survivor main but I play both sides (as everyone should, to be honest) and the other day I was doing a Bubba challenge. Killed all three other survs but then stupid Feng went and DC'd after she entered the death animation. I was really irritated at first (seriously, who plays for ten minutes only to deny themselves all their points at the last second?) but it turns out I got the challenge anyway. :P
Rats are awesome though. I'd call salty survivors "little platypuses" or something myself.

It is better around midnight, Eastern time. These day time queues? I ain't want no smoke, cuh. Survivor in the day, killer by night. This is the lifestyle we must abide by if we vaguely care about our free time.
Yep.
5 AM to 8 pm is survivor prime time. The night belongs to the killers. US Central Time.
-
I don't mean to undermine anyone but no, my queues have been just as good if not faster than before the SBMM rollout (which, in all fairness, were also quite fast).
My experience has always been that from basically sunrise to sunset survivor queues are super fast (sometimes literally almost instant, I'd say an average of ten to twenty seconds at most) while killer queues are longer at a minute or so. Then, at night, this switches over to the reverse. For me the pattern has remained entirely constant, the only difference being that sometimes I used to have to wait a lot longer if I played during "the other side's time".

Yeah not trying to bash on them, just think these are some major issues that require a fix focused patch without balance adjustments with the potential of creating more problems.
Yeah, the performance complaints are legit. I just feel kind of bad for them because I think that a lot of crap has been happening in their game in such a short amount of time. Of course I feel worse for the players who can't enjoy the game that they paid for, but I mean this has just been an entire summer of bugs for the company during what should have been their proudest moment.
-
I don't want to beat up on BHVR (not saying you are, just speaking for myself) but on PC over the last week or two I also have seen a strangely high number of "disconnected from server" issues after a match, a match not starting because of an apparent disconnect by someone else, and the occasional DC that doesn't seem intentional. Once in a while there are pretty jarring lag spikes as well - not as consistent as they were a couple of months ago (I'd say they happen for about ten or twenty seconds maybe once per 2-6 hour sessions for me) but they still happen.
Console players still have it worse I'm sure but yeah, I can vouch for some PC issues. Don't know why I'm getting the 8XXX error so much lately. OH, I also got my first BSOD while playing the game which is as worst-case scenario as it gets (short of my rig exploding and killing me and everyone I love). Got an automated report request and everything. That's never happened in my 6 months and 700 hours with the game. Happened EXACTLY as I crossed the escape line in a match with a farming Wraith. I think that even the game couldn't comprehend the possibility of a Wraith game that wasn't profoundly cheap. Zing! Take THAT Wraith players!
-
I guess ultimately the thing to do is just try it, if you have an event item you don't mind losing (should you get killed or have it smacked away from you). From the sounds of it it may have been possible at one point but no one's sure. My instinct would say that event items are coded differently to have different values as unique items and that if the game specifically requires something with a specific description then it will only accept that exact type of thing. Can't say with total certainty now though.
Let us know what happens if you would, could be handy info.

literally, actual real genuine concern. now we have the skin bug aswell, also the map game has pallets taht are impossible to break. anyway, should i be surprised?
I only had one unbreakable Game pallet, I've played several matches since then and never encountered it again. Anecdotal, yes, but that's my experience.
As for the cosmetic glitch, it's silly and actually kind of hilarious (I mean in a fun way, I enjoy it because it's harmless though obviously it should still be fixed). But in all honesty, though it IS noticeable that BHVR has had a really bad run of things this whole summer, I kind of feel bad for them. Getting a run of bugs where something getting fixed breaks something else sucks for everybody, but it really isn't as rare or unique to BHVR as people seem to think. It happens to EA, it happens to Ubisoft, it happens to Bethesda, and I have loads of personal experience with it happening to THQ. Even a massive mega-billion company like Rockstar initially preferred to merely disable and lie about their infamous "Hot Coffee" sex minigame in GTA San Andreas because it was easier than coding it out of the game entirely.

event items cost the same as common items (3000) but they are still considered rarer than ultra rare items
Do they actually function the same for completing specif challenges though? I've never heard of that.
-
Serious answer: Known bug, reported by myself and others in the bug section. The lobby shows other players' characters as having whatever cosmetics you happen to have equipped on yours, even if you're not using those characters at that time. During the match you see what the players' characters actually look like. The bug was introduced in the latest patch.
EDIT: I first noticed this when Claire, Jonathan, mechanic David and a unique combination of Meg clothes I never saw on anyone else suddenly started showing up a lot. Then in a two-Nancy lobby the third player also switched to Nancy, and I thought "wow, they're all the Nancy in the red jacket too, well now I have to switch to mine". I finally realized that this was an actual glitch when, during the match, I was the only Nancy who stood out as different from the three default striped shirt ones. Whoops.
-
The item would have to actually be designated in-game as "ultra rare". A pink item that I think is 7,000 BP.

Dead Hard, without a doubt. I almost run your build, I use Dead Hard, Bond, BT, and Kindred
I won't lie, I've SOOOOO considered using Dead Hard lol. On one hand the perk is so massively despised that I'd kind of feel like an unoriginal jerk using it, but on the other hand who cares? As long as I'm having fun and not breaking the rules or deliberately ruining anyone else's game it should be fine. That said, the actual practical reason why I haven't used it yet is because it seems somewhat limited. Only a certain amount of usage, if you screw it up the killer just stays right on you. I have to admit that despite not being what I personally consider to be a super good killer I'm not really ever deterred by DH, it feels like more of a brief annoyance than an actual escape. Maybe I'm a better killer than I think? Lol Idunno.
Thanks for the suggestion though. Like I said, it IS something I've considered. And I don't mean to sound like I'm just going to reject every suggestion, especially since several people like you seem to have similar builds. I guess nothing has quite hit the "THAT'S THE ONE!!!!" sensation yet. Might have t try more mixing and matching.
-
I haven't had this but I've noticed that over the last few days - as opposed to the first days of SBMM - my solo survivor games have been seeing more 4Ks, hard tunneling, face camping and such. I was really enjoying the smooth balance of my games at first but now there seems to be a slowly increasing rate of more aggressive and skilled killers. I expect that, or at least would if I was playing SUPER well and thus assumed that SBMM was finding the right zone to put me in, but I guess I just don't think that anything I've done should have made much of a difference in one direction or another.

Yeah I understand that someone who takes hard drugs can still have attractive features lol… but if you’re homeless AND take hard drugs it will be tough for someone to find you attractive. 😂
Either way, idc about Nea’s appearance - it’s just a video game. I’ve said it before: I find it weird when people get too deep into conversations about a video game character’s “sexual appeal”.
I do too. As stunningly beautiful as I find Kate and - I guess I'm in the minority - Meg, I couldn't care less what any of these characters look like in relation to the gameplay. I care more about the stories and the perks. If I'm going to spend hours looking at the backsides of these characters I'll be honest, some of them make that experience more pleasant (did you all know that this is what led to the creation of Lara Croft?) but variety is one of the things that makes this game so interesting. I actually think it would be intriguing to see a fat character in this game, for example. Or a person with a mental impairment that affects their appearance. Or a character specifically designed to look as average as possible, just "a face in the crowd". Though to be fair it IS in the company's best interest, financially speaking, to continue to release more traditionally "attractive" characters. We might find "Bob and Sarah, people with dead-end jobs who enjoy fast food" to be perfectly acceptable, but they probably wouldn't do much to drive DLC sales. :P
Homelessness can surprise you. I've met some very intelligent, very well-kept and "normal"-looking people who turned out to be homeless because their spouse had just abandoned them, or their job of 20 years laid them off, etc. Obviously if you're struggling financially and truly have no or at least very limited access to facilities like showers and such it's going to affect your appearance but I guess not everyone looks like they literally live on L.A.'s Skid Row (which I only recently learned I was within five minutes' walking distance of when I was stranded in the city in the middle of the night due to catching the wrong bus back in 2003. It's right by the hotel where a bunch of people committed suicide, were murdered, and where Elisa Lam was found dead in the water tank. Finding out after the fact that I was like 6 blocks away from there was kind of a scary revelation).
-
Sorry to bump this (I've gotten plenty of answers to the main question so I don't mean to artificially keep the subject going) but it's related: I thought that I had Alert - in fact I thought that I had most perks unlocked - but even though Feng is at level 50 I went through the other characters and none of them have it. When I was leveling her I know that I was more focused on getting preferred perks for HER rather than teaching hers to others, but all her perks are checked off on her bio screen which to my memory is the only way to confirm whether they've been unlocked.
All the same, Alert isn't showing up. I've spammed about 20 levels between other characters now and I'm just not seeing it. Is this just the bad luck of wanting a specific perk (which everyone experiences) or is it possible that I somehow missed unlocking the perk and now it's not going to show up again untilI prestige her? I don't feel like throwing away all her items nor recycling the massive level 50 bloodweb to keep checking for it.

Homeless Meth Addicts = Ugly.
Meth addicts don't tend to be attractive, but in Nea's case it's really just the general disheveled appearance. I don't think she's ugly, but I don't think she's pretty. She looks smelly. Like she hasn't bathed. Again, this is just her default look. The knit cap and grunge clothes don't suit her face in my opinion. Not that it matters to me, I still use her.
Homeless people can be attractive or not since it's something that can afflict anybody, but hard drugs tend to make you look plain, then messy, then ugly, then naked on a metal table with livor mortis.

Let me tell you why Iron Will is ridiculous: it can completely throw off the killer without you doing anything. Let's say the killer injures you and you run to a loop, it's very possible a killer can mind game themselves at said loop and you could just keep running past said loop to another structure. A highly hypothetical situation but it happens more than you might think.
Going completely silent during chase is huge. It also allows ratty plays like tucking into a corner immediately after breaking line of sight with the killer and them running right past you/fun stuff like that and then trying to make a quick getaway in the opposite direction.
The reason I recommend Iron Will so much for stealth players is that, I know people who opt for stealth play styles aren't usually very good at looping or feel hopeless/like they can't get better at it and I won't lie it's very difficult to get good at because some killer players are just amazing at prediction and mind games. Stealth and ratty tricks are so incredibly fun, I try to mix them into my usual looping repertoire because it's just so fun doing something as gutsy as hiding right under the killers nose and seeing them run past you or lose you because you're harder to track.
But yeah, additionally I think it's not a bad idea to get used to playing injured and Iron Will helps immensely with that. Certain killers it can be detrimental to constantly stay healthy against (Healing vs Legion / cleansing vs Plague etc.). NEVER getting injured is highly unrealistic but with Iron Will you can raise your chances of escaping to heal and live another day.
@SpookyPumpkinPiez said:
My go to build is iron will, bond, kindred, and some sort of either prove thyself, we're gonna live forever, borrowed time, something like that. If you go for immersed I honestly think iron will is a must. Playing as killer you would not believe how many times I found people only because their character was making sounds. Also I've made it to rank 1 survivor many times with the build you use but with dark sense swapped for iron will, so it's probably not a terrible build
LOL "ratty tricks". XD I love that.
But don't most killers just find you through your scratch marks anyway? I can understand if you're out sneaking and they can't hear you if they come super close but if you're in a chase and you're not too far ahead are they really going to only be able to find you because of your groans? And if those are suppressed is it really that easy to just slip away? Idunno, I'm seeing that LOTS of people recommend it, I should at least try it I guess. I just don't see how that would be such a chase equalizer.
I LOVE Kindred, that's almost my second must-have after Bond. I may wind up trying Bond, Kindred, Alert (thought I had it but I have to still get it on Feng's level 50 web to unlock it. Should have paid more attention) and either Spine Chill or Iron Will. Not sure.
Thanks again for the answers and explanations. Anyone still willing to explain how you effectively use Spine Chill, to not have to guess so much as to which direction the killer is coming at you from?

Same aura but not the same effect/duration. Alert procs anytime they destroy a pallet/breakable wall so it can proc 10-30 times a match depending on map. Dark sense is hot garbage and MAX can show you the killer 5 times when you complete each gen.
I hadn't thought of it that way, that's actually really logical.
-
@chargernick85 said:
I love me some alert. kindred, Alert, WGLF (BP) and any of these We''ll Make it, Botany, Desperate measures, Small game, counterforce, detectives hunch. If you are going to play immersive at least knock the totems out to eliminate hexes and noed.
I do. I actually greatly enjoy destroying totems. Not just because of the points and the fact that it helps the team, but also because, on a weird personal level, I find the mechanic satisfying to the senses. I love crouching into a little hideaway and hearing those little crunchy sounds. If I'm being perfectly honest I wish that there were more totems - even just dull ones - all over the map. I'd be going crazy.
So I'm definitely leaning towards trying Alert. How does it work? In addition to showing you the killer every time they do something destructive, does it also show the evidence of that destruction (such as a broken pallet) throughout the whole match? Or is it just periodic reminders of where the killer is? Because that's the same as Dark Sense, no? Sorry for asking, I'm not able to play and see for myself just now.
-
Thank you again everybody. I have a couple of questions:
I looked at Iron Will and it seems to be all about negating the injury noise and not much else. It doesn't seem that this would be too helpful if my goal is to avoid that initial attack (though it would help for the second one, if the killer isn't also using something to see my aura). Is there something more to the perk I'm not fully understanding? Not trying to sound sarcastic, I honestly just don't know because I've never used it. It's really that meta? Why is it so popular?
Seriously considering Open Handed, because that would extend the range of my information perks. That would only be a plus. Of course it wouldn't change anything about me being screwed when I do get caught, but it fits the criteria of what I was asking about.
How do you guys (no gender assumption, just a figure of speech. :) ) go about using Spine Chill? It sounds helpful in that it will tell me if the killer is headed my way, for sure, but how do you know where to head off to without knowing what direction they're even looking at you from? I mean I kind of assume that the killer is ALWAYS looking in my direction, you know?
For those who have used it enough to give an honest and objective answer, do you feel that Prove Thyself does much in the way of bonus BP? My playstyle already hampers my points as it is (doing gens doesn't seem to count as much as going through the loop and hook process, which I find kind of strange). I definitely do plenty of work - please don't misunderstand this - but I accept that because the work I do is largely of the kind that's not directly confrontational, I get less BP on average much of the time. That (and the coop speed boost) is the only reason I've been using Prove.
I guess, in short, you've helped me narrow down the information and distraction perks really well, and I appreciate it. The last thing I'm wondering about is these avoidance / defense perks to try to figure out which one may work best for me. If I'm giving up Dark Sense and / or Prove Thyself I'm giving up some info AND whatever extra BP I may make, so I'm hoping that whatever I use as substitutes would leave me more likely to escape with my teammates (and thus make up the points). And again, I understand that some people view my playstyle as selfish or detrimental but if you played the way I do you'd understand. I'm always doing gens and totems, making the saves when it's logical, and sometimes directly intersecting the killer and taking protection hits. I'm 100 percent a team player. Just a sneaky one. Not just because that's what's most fun for me, but because I am just really, REALLY bad at looping. Really bad. I see other people do what seem like the same things I'm doing, but what I'm doing just doesn't seem to work. The killer zigs when I expect them to zag. They hit me no matter how tightly I try to spin around after that first hit. I don't understand "tiles". I know I have to learn, but at this point being aggressive would screw my team way more than what I'm currently doing.

Drop Dark Sense for Spine Chill or Alert. I recommend Spine Chill but Alert is fantastic if you like seeing the killers aura. Additionally you can keep track of what pallets and walls they break throughout the match which is incredibly valuable information.
Drop Prove Thyself for an Exhaustion Perk of your choice.. Since you sound like you like to avoid confrontation I'd recommend Lithe. Lithe makes you very unattractive to killers. When they hit me the first time I use that speed boost to get to a good window / structure and vault to get Lithe off when they get close. When I go zooming off from Lithe they almost always drop chase with me because I can make it to a really safe structure with those two bursts of speed.
I also highly recommend dropping Kindred for Iron Will. You can't attempt to play sneaky without Iron Will.. Unless you're playing as Kate or Ace I guess (They are the most quiet survivors when injured but far from silent).
Prove Thyself is nice but honestly survivors need to be spread out. Stacking up on gens is one of the worst things you can do.
Kindred is great for solo queue but imo highly overrated. Additionally you can ask someone else to run it or just hope someone else runs it. When I was new I would NEVER switch it for anything but now I get a bit more selfish with my perks. It's important to have strong perks that help YOU out.
There's nothing wrong with playing this immersive play style but I encourage you to not be afraid of confrontation with the killer and to get better at looping and losing the killer. Successfully escaping the killer will buy your team time and preserve yourself. It's unrealistic to expect anyone to loop a killer for multiple gens and good killers won't even commit that long to a chase and will drop it so don't listen to anyone here that says you need to do that or that you need to stop playing this immersive style.
Very thoughtful, well-reasoned advice. Thank you. That's part of why I hate the "oh no, you're the loser that ruins the game for everyone else" talk. Not only because I see firsthand that it's not true, and that I'm usually the one who takes one for the team, but also because...well, I like to play the way I like to play, and nothing I do actively interferes with the other survivors' ability to play how they want and attempt a win as well. I hate the people who just hang back and hide as much as anyone, if not more so, because Bond and I are attached at the hip. I see what people are doing.
That said, you're right about needing to start branching out and becoming more comfortable with looping. I hate the looping game. I HATE it. It is so counterintuitive to what I expected when I first got this game. I was looking for a stealth game like Monstrum, not a chase simulator like Call of Duty. That said, I do understand how important looping is and how players who are good at it can really make a big difference. That's actually why I made this thread - I've decided to start venturing a bit beyond my comfort zone.
-
Thank you so much for the suggestions. Some of you have given me some good things to try. A couple I was already debating (such as Open Handed and Spine Chill) but others, such as Iron Will, I hadn't considered. I appreciate it.
-
Thank you for the recommendations. If anyone else sees this, please weigh in. I'd like as much input on the subject as I can get.
I've been thinking hard about Spine Chill, the problem is that I don't find myself paying that much attention to the icons and, on top of that, I can't tell what direction the killer is looking in so I don't know which way to go. Is there a trick to that? I only tried the perk once or twice.
Iron Will sounds good.
Regarding hurting my team, I strongly disagree. I have done so many gens and stealth saves while others were looping that I'm guessing it's consisted of at least a third of my total playtime. I'm also the only person I ever see cleansing totems (which I legitimately enjoy doing). I'm not hurting my team, I'm doing the same thing that they are - improving our chances of victory. Just less recklessly. If anything I'm usually the one to die after doing much of the work because when I DO get caught there's not much I can do.

I'd like to point out that the displayed outfits are what YOU have equipped on those characters.
Indeed, I came here to say this. Earlier today I saw Meg wearing a combo that I've never seen anyone other than myself wearing. I complimented her. She seemed confused. Then later there was a four-Nancy match and we were all wearing her "Demo hunter" (forgot the name) outfit but in-game I was the only one, everyone else had her striped shirt. Then I noticed that Mechanic David kept popping up. I realized that the cosmetics you see on the lobby screen are all wearing what YOUR characters are, even if those same characters are not in the match.

That illustration of Dave Richard channeling my boy Captain Spaulding. I dig that.
Devil's Rejects in DBD please. Super please? After the QOL and performance fixes of course!

Yup. I got the full reset points yesterday and the free 500k today, so I just walked away with a million bloodpoints.
Feels good.
I used to love you pap pap.

I'm not taking a side in this. I just think it's funny that Trickster, Nemesis, and now Pinhead have all been labeled the worst killer in the game in succession.
-
But does that mean that the people who DID get their grade rewards get the half million BP plus their rewards, while the people who didn't get the rewards only get the half million? Joe Blow gets his 150,000 grade points so he walks away with 650,000 total, but those who weren't given their grade points only get 500,000?
-
Pinhead is anything but weak. He tortures people with a mix of pleasure and pain more extreme than anything they ever imagined possible.
His iconic line is great. I'm still angry that they removed it.

I'm so ######### over the Wraith. I just can't even stand looking at him anymore. Cheap, boring, few or no disadvantages and completely devoid of the need for skill. I'm just done. I'm exhausted. Once he shows up in a match, which he does ten times a day, I just put my controller down and go to get something to eat while half the other survivors DC.
Yeah, no problem. Wraith is fine.

This last week spent something like 2 million points getting Yui from level 1 to level 50. She's still missing 2 of the perks I want her to have. They're not even major meta perks. They're Bond and Dark Sense.
I DO have about 85 luck, fog, flashlight and map-based crap I will literally never actually use though. That probably only cost about 300-400 thousand.
-
As I always say, I don't approve of functional and properly-working content being removed from the game, but offerings do basically exist just to give the people who use them inherent advantages.
Frankly I'd rather they get rid of the offerings that are literally useless first, like fog and luck ones. Just BP sinks. I spent probably at least a fifth of the half million that we got today on that crap. If they DID something, that would be a different story.

Huh. I always wondered what this meant too.
I don't even think that Nea is ugly, her default appearance just looks like a homeless meth addict.

Success. I've had some of my most entertaining matches ever over the last few days. Lots of back and forth. Lots of long games. Lots of competitive but fun situations where it feels like truly anyone might pull off the win. I've only had a few obviously incorrectly-ranked sweat jobs.
Speaking only for myself, the game is more consistently enjoyable than ever. Very few "squash matches", to use wrestling parlance, on either side.

The game became grindier with the new rank system
cough
I mean grade system. Now that everyone get's put back to rank 20
cough
I mean Ash IV. Hackers are going to become more popular because no body actually wants to grind even more in the game to get to Rank 1.
cough
Iridescent I
You better do something about that cough...

It's not just the amount of bloodpoints, idc if they give 1mil bp per side it's still pointless to me and to many older players. We have what we need maxed out to the point we can very quickly p3 a new character.
You're right, shards might not work. But you get punished for being good at the game with no rewards or anything to display
It WOULD be nice if the BP cap were removed but, again, there's no specific reason to 3-50 a character other than personal pride (which is understandable, I was proud when I 3-50'd Meg) and a set of bloody clothes. I mean it's just a hollow reward that says "you played a lot". A lot of games do this and I feel like we as players have been conditioned to feel that we need to eagerly rush to that goal as fast as possible to prove ourselves, to "achieve" something, when in fact it's really nothing of an achievement other than a gauge of how many games you've played which, at the end of the day, doesn't mean anything.
I'm not trying to knock your argument or your feelings on the subject, just expressing my confusion as to why people seem to want so many incentives to play the game. Again, if it's fun, it shouldn't require a bunch of incentives. It's already enjoyable. To me there IS no grind, the "grind" is simply playing the game over and over - not for a specific goal, but because I'm happy spending my time in such a way. And if the game is NOT fun, and someone isn't happy with it unless more rewards and prizes are given, then why play, you know? What's the value of a reward that comes at the cost of doing something you otherwise don't like? And if you DO like it, why does there need to be further reward?
