Are we not allowed to play with friends? Do I really deserve to get banned because I like to play survivor with people I usually hang out with? It makes no sense and it’s nauseating to hear.
I have over 1300 hours in this game and have never complained about SWFs in my killer games. If I lose, I either get annoyed by the map, bugs, or I just come to realization that I didn’t play well enough. It’s not survivors’ faults for wanting to play with their friends.
Sorry for the rant, but as someone who probably has more bias towards killer than survivor, I really get annoyed hearing that SWF is off limits.
It only becomes worth complaining when SWFs play in toxic manner towards the killer. You already have the advantage with comms, but still have to stack up on the best items and send the killer to survivor-sided maps, pissing the killer off by teabagging and clicking when the devs are literally holding your hand.

Have you tried predicting the hold w and aiming the crow in the direction they will go instead of always mindlessly putting it at the loop you're at.
It's often really obvious where they will hold w to.
The ability does have infinite range
It doesn't matter where you put it.
You go to the left, deploy crow (get slowed), survivor goes to the right and leave the loop. Ofc if it's only one crow on the loop survivors may attempt to juke it, pretending to run towards the crow only to double back, but if it's more than one they will easily leave.
The infinite range is only good for map patrol and checking gens, that's the only plus the killer has. Say what you want, even legion is better than artist

- Cheating, seriously why cheat in a game like DBD, it's like cheating in among us or fall guys.
- Survivors who are super toxic despite stacking strong add ons and sending killer to a good map.

Thing is she puked on the generator when on early game and this infection lasted until mid game. If the generator was infected I would have saw the green puke on it.

Here's a picture of me getting infected from this gen. I don't know if there's an add on that hides infection on an object.
there isnt, might be a visual bug or just hacks. Definitely my first time seeing it, cause usually hackers do something stupid like straight on teleport and speed hack
-
Hit validation isn't a problem.
Maps, items and boons make the game survivor sided, not to mention unnecessary killer nerfs like deathslinger
-
Boons are great addition to the game, i wished they took more time to balanced older perks, especially those that are rarely used.
But yes boons are definitely not balanced, especially in majority of maps where totem spawns are very time wasting to reach for killers. Their effects are way too strong for a simple 14 sec bless (aside from the newest one which i find balanced).

Nemesis isn't weak but i find him boring to play as, his power concept is so underwhelming

still don't get the TR nerf, they didn't even addressed the reason behind it, completely pointless

Now that we've seen the whole Rift, what are your thoughts on the Halloween Event this year? I know last year's was....disappointing to say the least.
Personally, if we are only getting two events per year (Halloween and Anniversary) then consider me extremely disappointed in the quality of both events.
But, how do you like the Event this year?
Better than all the previous ones, still wished the offerings weren't a thing and all gens/hooks would be tangled

The introduction of Boons has finally given Survivors a reason to look for totems and effectively ended the Ruin/Undying meta in the process (only a few fast paced slug heavy Killers can run Ruin/Undying now its suboptimal on most Killers).
Here are perks I have been getting consistent use out of that I overlooked before:
DEADLOCK: very very reliable slowdown. this perk will save you a minute or two of generator time regardless of how much map pressure the Killer you are playing has.
CORRUPT INTERVENTION: also very reliable slowdown that's universally good on all Killers. it requires some map control and good early chases to really optimize but its potential can't be ignored.
NO WAY OUT: notice a trend? the most reliable endgame slowdown. allows you to take chases after the generators have popped and still have potential to get kills from it. less snowball potential than No ED, but no risk the perk will be prevented or removed early.
All three of these perks focus more on reliability than a risk/reward playstyle. They won't necessarily carry a game by themselves but they will normalize your games so you don't get ROFLSTOMP gen rushed.
just run a full hex build with retribution and haunted, thrill/ undying. Boons are broken especially at indoor maps and you know survivors wiill want to send you to these maps

Survivors should be able to see HEX auras.
Im okay with that, hex auras revealed to the survivors who can hear the totem burning, by that time the survivor will already be next to it. However, survivors have maps, perks that can help them see totems, so there's no point
-
Being able to see your challenge progress in the in game hud will also be very useful
-
Don't blame flashlights, blame your lack of skill.
You're playing oni, a very good killer, and you're struggling to win against every swf you meet.
If you hate flashlights that much bring lightborn. If you think they'll go to a locker then don't hold m1 and just get a free locker grab. I don't see how female characters have anything to do with you being bad, especially after playing for over 4 years.

Idk how u managed to play for over 4k hrs, maybe try civilization for a change

Didn't the devs say they were going to change those rarely used by players?
Probably something like the wraith blindness one, oni blood orb range

Ive only met one, a speedhacker who was noticeably faster than me. Still managed to lose even with hacks against a wraith

In the last 10 matches, I’ve seen nothing but Ruin and usually Undying too. Not to mention a dramatic increase in tunneling and slugging. The killers all won and that’s very bad balance.
For how difficult it is for survivors to increase their MMRs, the data should show an overabundance of killers using Ruin, Undying, and other slowdown perks that is artificially increasing MMRs of killers. Survivor MMR is not taking this into account, every match is still no chance of survival. This is why there are so many killers with high MMRs and hardly any survivors except for SWF that is able to somehow do the hard to do gens. These perks are not fun to verse every single game and I’m looking for a discussion from the devs on addressing this problem. It has to be acknowledged.
SBMM should show how bad of a surv you are

Maybe it fails miserably because nobody wants to play competitively in this game, because there isn't any competitive thing ? Unlike LoL, StarCraft, CS, ...., You will never go in a tournament and gain a lot of moneys.
If players seek a competitive game, DbD is not the right game, DbD should NOT be competitive. It's a fun multiplayer game, and a perfect balance won't ever happen because of the assymetric thing.
Oh and
Nobody will sponsor some serious tournaments for another thing : bugs, the plethora of bugs the game has, and will have.
Exactly, so might as well just get rid of sbmm

They never added an incentive to play competitively. SBMM is entirely hidden, you don't even know what constitutes a win. In competitive games you can track your MMR, and understand the standards to raise that MMR.
The Grades is literally Ranks, but now reset to Rank 20 and give you BP depending on the rank you get by the next reset. The pip system is entirely built around the idea that no matter how bad you do, if you play enough you will be rewarded. That's not competitive. Competitive would only punish you for playing poorly, and reward you for playing well. A casual game rewards you for just playing the game. In addition to that the Rank/Grade system no longer allows you to derank/degrade. If you get to Iri 1 / Rank 1, you will never go back to rank 2 till the next reset. That shows 0 incentive to play competitively. You can play as casual as you want, and you will never lose rank.
Literally the entire update is against your idea that the game has become more competitive.
SBMM may be hidden but we definitely know when we're going against sweaty and good players. The fact that SBMM is added means the game tries to be competitive but as i have said gives no incentive for players to be in high mmr and play to win. I dont know why u decided to still state that the game isn't competitive, it's trying to be but is failing miserably. So either commit to it or just don't
-
We don't need more bp, stop making the devs think we want more of the same bp events etc and compensating players with bp for their broken updates that take months to fix
-
@Ludicris said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493050#Comment_2493050
They will NEVER be "full committed" to the game being competitive, because it's IMPOSSIBLE. It's an asymmetrical game. By definition it can't be a competitive game because it never will be balanced enough to be a competitive game.
Yes the rng can't be fixed because it takes away a lot out of the game. But perks, killers and maps can always be balanced. You add SBMM along with incentives for us to play competitively, and done you've got yourself a working game. Not gonna be as balanced as other competitive games, but is unique in it's own way. But nah, 250k bp

@miketheratguy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2491756#Comment_2491756
It WOULD be nice if the BP cap were removed but, again, there's no specific reason to 3-50 a character other than personal pride (which is understandable, I was proud when I 3-50'd Meg) and a set of bloody clothes. I mean it's just a hollow reward that says "you played a lot". A lot of games do this and I feel like we as players have been conditioned to feel that we need to eagerly rush to that goal as fast as possible to prove ourselves, to "achieve" something, when in fact it's really nothing of an achievement other than a gauge of how many games you've played which, at the end of the day, doesn't mean anything.
I'm not trying to knock your argument or your feelings on the subject, just expressing my confusion as to why people seem to want so many incentives to play the game. Again, if it's fun, it shouldn't require a bunch of incentives. It's already enjoyable. To me there IS no grind, the "grind" is simply playing the game over and over - not for a specific goal, but because I'm happy spending my time in such a way. And if the game is NOT fun, and someone isn't happy with it unless more rewards and prizes are given, then why play, you know? What's the value of a reward that comes at the cost of doing something you otherwise don't like? And if you DO like it, why does there need to be further reward?
Because you're one of the few who has fun in playing the game. This game can be a lot more enjoyable and serious if they fully commited to being competitive.

I dont know why you need to protect new players in what you call a "Casual" game, it's like among us having a ranked matchmaking

Because people asked for it for over 4 years, and it's better than their old mmr system. There had always been an mmr system in the game, but it had problems because hey kept trying to make it work with considering the players rank. With the new SBMM and Grade system, they just updated their old MMR system, and removed any clauses having it interact with your rank (grade).
People have been asking for this game to turn "competitive", but the devs are not fully commited to it. That's why the updates feel imcomplete

I would prefer shards myself but I understand that this would impact profits, and like any game company BHVR is a for-profit business.
No offense but it doesn't matter what they do. People said that the game is too much of a "grind" (which I don't quite understand, since if the game is fun then it shouldn't be a grind, being that there's no ultimate end goal, and if the game ISN'T fun then there's no reason to play it) so BHVR added an incentive that's thousands if not hundreds of thousands more BP per month than we were already getting and people are STILL complaining.
I mean, no personal offense, but can people be happy about ANYTHING that this company does? Why even play a game that frustrates you in so many endless ways? I know I'm in the minority but #########, people are mad that the BP reward isn't enough and I'm sitting here thinking "I'll take the extra BP that I wasn't getting before, thank you".
It's not just the amount of bloodpoints, idc if they give 1mil bp per side it's still pointless to me and to many older players. We have what we need maxed out to the point we can very quickly p3 a new character.
You're right, shards might not work. But you get punished for being good at the game with no rewards or anything to display
-
@Myla said:
Shards would be better like I have 1600+ hours with the game and I haven't unlocked every DBD original killers.
Not to mention that survivors cost the exact same as killers lmao. Admittedly I wasted some shards on dumb crap in Shrine of secret but I don't think I would have unlocked everything regardless.
Shards work but it still seems like a lazy solution. You could do so much more, but i'll take shards anytime. At least u can buy cosmetics with them

The incentive on survivor is clear. I've never had a better solo queue experience in 3 years of playing the game. 3 outing Agi/Starstruck range Nurses and Alchemist Ring/Blighted Crow Blights. Four great players will beat anything. Loving solo queue right now.
On killer, games are tremendously hard at high MMR. Not unwinnable though. I'm still winning most of my games. Sweating hard though. I think there are a ton of killers who are going to have to adjust to playing against good players who make good decisions.
It's not unwinnable i agree, but you have to take this game competitively to win but there's no point in doing that cause there are no rewards. Take csgo or dota, you don't get rewards for reaching high ranks but at least it's displayed, it has meaning to it. The devs have already said Grades have no function but don't disclose the MMR we're in
-
@Orion said:
That's not SBMM, though, that's Grades.
Oh that's even worst now that you've mentioned in, meaning there is 0 incentive to get high mmr
-
then why SBMM? it's casual and not competitive
-
@latinfla4 said:
1) you keep killer side full
2) the killers get rewarded to get as high a sbmm as they can (come on clown I know I can push you higher we are making it to iridescent this month)
3) bhvr gets the data they need to see what the sbmm ceiling is for each killer and buff and or nerf(🤣) them accordingly
4) profit (actually its just BP)
You want to keep sbmm make ot more enticing for the killers who want to play more and sweat it out.
I would love the same thing for survivors but they share the same sbmm so whatever.
Rewards should not be BP, i would simply be happy with a killer ranking and maybe a skin if you've reached a high ranking with said killer. This validates SBMM as we now have the incentive to sweat in high mmr

And wheb they do bigger buffs they arent always usefull
-Clowns yellow bottle is mostly used to shut down loops even faster then before
-Trickster is even stronger in 1v1 and downs survivors super quickly!
....but we where many to say hes mostly fine, needzd some aim biffs and something for map pressure...yet they buffed the 1v1 more instead
Imo killers shiuld be created à bit weaker, espdcially when SOLD and be buffed or balanced soon after whith feesback, but thzy dont do that saddly
U make a good point with trickster, but no clown's yellow bottle is useless. His counter still stays, simply pre drop every pallet. Trickster has good 1v1 in low loops, meaning he's very map and rng dependent. The only killer that needs a nerf is spirit, everything else is either fine or needs a buff

If you’re good with him, he’s a bit like Deathslinger. It’s just that it depends on how well survivor can move and if you’re on KB+M or controller. I’m on controller and I can use him decently, but not to his fullest potential.
He’s a solid Killer, big strengths but also big weaknesses. If Survivors can exploit his weaknesses and not give into his strengths too much, he’s very beatable. If he’s very good and Survivors aren’t careful enough, he’s pretty deadly, even with little map pressure.
deathslinger is a lot more fun than trickster. With deathslinger i can ads instantly, with trickster i have to wait for it to charge and then get slowed down to throw 1 blade.

I would be happy if they showed us where we are in the leaderboards, like say top 500 nurse. If it does happen it's gonna take another 3 years

You know its pretty obvious why they do that, but here is the catch:

True, took them years to simply change NUMBERS.
-Buff wraith movement speed
-Change trap escape attempt
-Change iri head add on
-Change clown bottle reload speed
I can go on but u get the idea, everyone is demanding for a trapper buff and when they finally do it, it's gonna be "increased starting bear trap to 2 (was 1)". Behavior is like the EA of updates

@Tactrix said:
When I first started I had a reason to spend money on this game, but as time went on it became clear that BHVR goes out of their way to make this game a miserable experience, and no one should be wasting their money on this game.
I'll give you an example, as a killer it sucks when you get gen rushed, but at least you know what you're playing against. However as a survivor, if a killer decides to tunnel you for 3 hooks straight you're dead, there is no "oh you can get away because you have a DS" you're dead. No half way decent killer will let you escape even with DS. And sure the other 3 people MIGHT get out, but you're still gonna have a horrible time in the process.
Now does BHVR know about this? Of course they do, every single survivor in the game has told them this repeatedly. And what is their solution? They don't care, in fact from what I've seen they actively encourage toxic playing. They keep making killers who play more toxic than the last killer they made and I'll give you a demonstration of this. Let's look at the last killer they made nemesis, his STARTING perk is to know exactly where you are on the map, and I know that doesn't seem like much but think this through, he has 9 seconds to get to exactly who he wants to, down them, hook them, and then tunnel them to death.
And this is my point, it's not the killers fault for playing the way they do, it's not the survivors fault for hating it, it's BHVRs fault for leaving them virtually no other options.
I play as a killer too and I don't tunnel, or camp or slug, but I'm also a very low tier killer, and still it's pretty hard to get a 4k without playing toxic, at red ranks I imagine it's impossible. So until they fix the mechanics in this game to reflect some semblance of none toxic play, it's not even worth spending money on.
if you really want to spend money on this game, buy the rift pass once and never top up again. You're basically tons of skins for months to come. I myself have spent maybe $50-60, equally on chapters and skins. Although i've stop playing the game for a month now, bought the rift pass and haven't done much, it's the same thing over and over again.
Already getting bored of the game, don't see how people can spend thousands of hours and play daily, we've basically memorized BHVR's schedule at this point.
Release chapter- bug fix- bug fix- rift pass- mid chapter- bug fix- bug fix

For me there is no one definitive straw. When I stop, it'll likely be because there are simply too many killers who ignore survivor counterplay (Trickster, Nemesis, Deathslinger, etc) and not enough killers that are good enough to not HAVE TO ignore survivor counterplay (Blight, Demogorgon, Wraith) I really wish Behavior would stop with ranged killers, and just release more really strong melee killers. They are way more fun to play against, even though they aren't worse.
The other possibility is if they release another few Chapter/Mid-chapter updates with little to no perk adjustments. I've been dissatisfied with the perk imbalance for years, and that might slowly drain away my willingness to play this game if they just don't care to ever make terrible perks like Babysitter or Boil Over even worth CONSIDERING running.
with the amount of useless perks in the game, they should be able to balance at least 3 in every patch. Yet it took them years to fix ds and OoO

When it becomes consistently unfun to play.
At the moment, it's inconsistently fun, which is still an issue but the times where it is fun are sufficient to keep me coming back for more. But it is diminishing returns - survivor teammates that screw you over, killers who camp and tunnel - a seemingly complete lack of interest from the developers to implement any new interesting mechanics or even different game modes (like, how about 8 v 2, or a mode where survivors leave no scratch marks and killers have no terror radius/red stain, or there are additional objectives - I've only been playing this game for a few months and already it is feeling stale, I don't know how people stick with it for years on end).
Im with you 100%, i played the game since the Silent Hill chapter and have over 800hrs in the game. I would say im above decent in both sides but it amazes me how somebody can play this game for thousands of hours, especially content creators who play it every single day
