I've more or less retired from DBD. Awhile ago it was all I'd play and I had fun. Played a bunch of Killers, had a couple Survivors leveled for when my GF & I would play together. It was so much fun. But eventually performance issues and the terrible attitude of the playerbase drove her to stop playing. So I just focused on as Killer for a good while...but now seeing month after month of performance issues...I've barely kept to more than a match or two a week.

Just not having fun when I'm fighting the game AND Survivors at the same time so often. BHVR wanting to keep the gravy train of new Chapters and new Rifts and just mildly attempt to placate us console players ensures I probably won't ever play the game as heavily as I used to.

Yeah i could see BHVR tiring everyone out with their same update schedule. Slow bug patches, boring chapters, overhyping licensed chapters and disappointing everyone, same rifts, same events, very slow balance changes.

probaply MMR being fully implemented, turning all my games into the sweatfests ive been consistently having for the last two MMR test runs.

Players don't have an incentive to sweat at the game, we need rewards or more content. The game doesn't reward you for beating good players.

We can even see where we belong or how much MMR we have, would be cool to be a top 5% nurse which everyone in the lobby could see

I think somehow making haddonfield worse when updating it would definitely tempt me. It's not completely unlikely, almo has said before that according to the statistics haddonfield is a killer sided map.

I believe the devs had said that haddonfiled will only get a visual update. So they won't fix all the BS that's there

What would be the final straw for me? If they added a FNAF chapter.

I do think a fnaf chapter is too much, i don't see how they can add an animatronic bear to the game and not make it goofy. Would glady take another RE/SH chapter over FNAF

I tried thinking of a reply for a while but instead I feel like I can only ask a question to respond.

If Survivors are all just models and are the same (which they technically are), could you play as a Default Meg every time you play Survivor and be happy looking at that for over a thousand hours? It's just a survivor model, you are not losing any advantages by playing Default Meg, she's the same as every other Survivor Statistically and she still has the ability to use 4 perks and items and offerings, just instead of which survivor you play they are now Default Meg, do you think you could do that without switching survivors (outside of Dailies or specific character required rift challenges) or changing cosmetics?

That's why cosmetics are "important," technically have no effect on the game but still goes long ways when it comes to giving players enjoyment.

Yes u if you're bored of one cosmetic you can always change it, but just because the devs reworked one of your favorite cosmetics doesn't mean it's over.

Honestly if mmr really does nothing and matchmaking is still poo I'm 95% sure quitting

I don't think I'd ever fully stop playing because of the trophies, but something that would make me not want to play is if I lose all my progress or my three favorite Killers (Doc, Wraith, and Nemesis) lose their inventory somehow. I would also be unable to get it back. I'd just get as many of the remaining trophies as I can (on both PS4 and PS5 versions) and then just quit until new ones out. Then I'd just finish those, quit, and go back to waiting.

Adept hunting in dbd is pretty fun and is one of the few things that got me playing

^^This. I’m just burnt out and like I feel the game is progressively getting boring or worse despite the updates and content they’re bringing.

I agree and the devs keep bringing repetitive events that are intended for us to play more, but we don't want to cause we're burnt out

  • @AuroraOnline said:

I stopped playing just before nemesis went live. I'm done with killers being released that aren't strong/ fun to play as but also have such strong anti loop that the only way to win against them is to "genrush" and hold w and pre drop pallets. I feel like the fun part of the game is the looping, as survivor right now it feels brainless and boring which is frustrating, and as killer it feels like even though my chases are short the guns are done by the time I get a 1k.

You're right, sometimes even if you're pressuring survivors and ending chases fast, gens will still fly very fast due to bad maps with their terrible rngs

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

When they nerf Trapper it’s time for everyone to jump ship.

that would be pretty annoying if they were to nerf already weak killers

Any more chapter genres like Kpop or things that aren't associated with horror such as touching a pigs nose. Its losing its horror element and becoming a colourful party game.

i've never looked at it that way, but you're right. We've been getting more of these 'meme-ish' things

  • @Huge_Bush said:

If they remove Claudette I’ll quit.

Also, I’m actually burned out of this game. They really haven’t done anything interesting or different in the last year.

The anniversary event was a major letdown after they promised us they were going to focus their effort on it and Halloween at the cost of not having other events. The last few killers seemed uninspired.

Trickster, really no need for an explanation for him, The Twins release was terrible, Nemesis feels uninspired, they just cashed in on the Resident Evil brand and gave console an unplayable chapter with the most unfun map ever. Blights collision bug makes him unplayable for a lot of people, Nurses bugs are obviously being ignored, survivors getting stuck or teleporting back to places they’ve run past, Huntress hitting survivors with invisible blimps and I could go on and on.

The one thing this game has for it is it’s one of a kind. No other game is like it and it’s hard to get the same feeling of victory in another game that you get here. I also love the teamwork that happens when playing survivor.

I just wish the Devs weren’t beholden to their corporate overlords and shareholders. They really need to take at least 6 months to work on fixing the games code and balancing maps to be fair for both sides. They also need to take risks and change up the core mechanics, even if temporarily on select weekends. But I doubt it’ll happen.

At the very least, I wish they’d hire a bunch of recent college graduates and pay with to rewrite the game from the ground up. That way, they can continue to make money off of the live game while also overhaul everything with a future chapter.

i remember the devs in the recent 5th anniv stream mentioned that they conduct focus groups to get opinions from trusted players, wonder who participates in them lmao

  • @JPA said:

Probably more updates which just add new Killers/perks rather than fixing the massive balancing issues present in the game, or adding something significant like a new game mode or large new set of maps. O wait...

Already uninstalled twice this week so might stay off for a good while now.

Aw man, i guess this would be my final straw as well. We'll see how long i can take it

  • @CheeseAnton said:

I have no idea, I'm still playing even after they terribly messed up Ace (seriously can not underestimate how much he got screwed from the character updates, aside from Kate he's the only survivor I think got worse. I literally changed mains because of that update).

i don't wanna call you out or anything but it's just a survivor model, it doesn't matter which survivor you main they're all just skins

  • @GeneralV said:

I have already stopped, and the one thing that takes most of the blame is The Realm Beyond.

imo the Realm Beyond is the only good update we've had so far, i can always appreciate new models and revamped maps cause they never disappoint.

I started playing dbd in 2020 when pyramid head came out and it run very smoothly on high settings without any issues on my PC. Chapter after chapter it got worse and i cant even play play on 60 fps on the lowest settings anymore. its sad how the performance got so bad. (the same can be applied to the games content imo)

Im surprised it ran smoothly for you, i feel like performance issues were always there. Playing around with my pc and nvidia settings helped a bit.

The real question you should be asking is "Why does every patch come with a set of bugs and why do they take forever to fix?" Even ######### mobile games don't have a set of unrelated bugs with every patch

  • @BigKuhfahl said:

Why are Killers in this game becoming worse at playing? It's like all they do now is Camp, Tunnel, or just Slug Survivors. Like some games, I get in the start and finish before a Generator is even touched, and if one is even being worked on. Now I play both sides Killer and Survivor but, I do play Survivor a bit more and with friends, so an SWF team but, when I do play as Killer I don't do any of that because I know what that feels like as a Survivor but if by chance I do it is because of two things one being that they have been chosen towards the end of the game and I want them to be the one to leave the game by the Exit Gate or two they block my attack to save someone else. I just need to know how come Killers are now being absolute trash at this game than what they use to back when I started playing this game back when they released Stranger Things DLC.

You don't need to be god 5k hr survivor to win the game, 4 solo survivors who know the basics of looping can easily trash a killer

  • @Tricksters_Wife said:

His changes took a while to get used to, but after tweaking my add on combinations he feels relatively the same with the added benefit of the maximum laceration buff. I've been one-tricking him since his release just cause he's the most fun I have with a killer since I started playing. But I do notice that he's a lot more frustrating now in different areas for both sides. Either he's gonna completely shred through survivors out in the open or he's gonna struggle a lot more in indoor maps with lots of high loops/corners.

what add ons do u play with? i usually use the movement and throw rate. Movement does nothing and throw rate makes him smoother i guess, but my main issue is how he slows himself down when throwing

  • Wait, i believe you can turn off crossplay on settings, or is it just on pc?

  • @D3spair said:

We can all agree that the game is supposed to be balanced to Solo Queues therefore SWFs with their communication is borderline cheating. Seriously I am getting 80% SWFs in my matches these weekends. Someone with Detective Hunch means everyone on the SWF has Detectives Hunch. With the event ending these guys are super serious in getting Gens done in 5 minutes. I feel like I should get more rewards with putting up with these unfun games. BHVR surely would never do anything against SWF for the fun of it, as I don't ever see them buffing solo queue so instead just rewards us Killers more.

Just let killers know im going against a SWF so i can sweat

  • They probably have a cap so people can't just max everything new but 1 mil is way too small for a cap

  • @ill_Boston_lli said:

I just went into a match as Wraith with Haunted Undying Dhope and Retribution and I didn't even have a chance to get two stack on Dhope and they all dcd. I normally don't enjoy going against wraith but that is because I personally Do not like his playstyle. But there are some things in this game you are not always going to agree with and other people have their right to disagree. But to DC on Temple against wraith with 0 Gen defense is silly

Freddy was a lot more toxic with his basekit and add ons. Wraith is just a W killer and can get the first hit relatively fast

  • Not a slight buff, but one that completely changes his playstyle. The only 'pro' and annoying part of myers is the ability to 99 his stalk and insta down a survivor (giving the survivor 0 chance to do anything, unless they already see it coming and predrops everything).

His add ons are garbage excluding stalking and the green add on that increases tier 3 duration. I don't get why he needs a lunge penalty and tier 1 and i hate how survivors can walk past you while stalking.

The stalking mechanic has to fixed, i hate how u have to fully see the survivor for the stalk meter to go up. Good survivors can cheese this out by crouching and showing half of their model

  • @PugGod said:

His tentacle needs a longer recharge but not too long, and decrease his tentacle length, his tier 3 tentacle is so long it's unbearable sometimes, also decrease zombie spawn rate, and it might feel more balanced and fun to go against

How about you buff your looping skills?

  • @traviszenryo said:

after being hit with this perk one day 7 times in a match i had to wonder is it too strong, its understandable to be blinded or stunned but why both ? even that's not bad what's terrible is you stay stunned basically the same as being hit with ds or head on , but the gen doesn't even break so you have to waste more time kicking it again. my suggestion is making it activate after the kick so you break the gen get blinded and stunned, but then can be on your way. i think its a perfectly fair and balanced trade that way

Not a strong perk, just one to ######### with killers and piss them off

So I just came up with this build idea for huntress let me know if it's any good please.

    1. BBQ n Chili (Cannibal Perk)
    2. Iron Maiden (Legion Perk)
    3. Save the Best for Last (The Shape Perk) This one I am debating cause I don't know if it synergises with my thrown attack.
    4. Beast of Prey (Huntress Perk) This one I am debating on and I feel is interchangeable.

My thoughts for this build is... I obviously have BBQ for surveillance around the map. It also pairs nicely with Iron Maiden if and when survivors realize you are running BBQ and of course you can catch them when exposed. It is also nice for faster reload speed in lockers for huntress. Save the best for last helps with her slower movement speed.

I hear A Nurses calling and Discordance are good on her as well. So maybe I'd switch out 3. and 4. for these two.

Bbq, Corrupt, Pop, any perk you want

  • @SwampDaddy said:

From a killer perspective, Decisive Strike is very valuable to a survivor. However, due to body blocking and the speed boost while the killer is stunned, it's pretty much a 100% guaranteed win for the survivor.

Personally, I find it to be kind of a cheating little move that the survivor gets to use as a get-out-of-jail-free card despite being so bad they couldn't stay alive.

The killer should get some sort of perk or ability that allows him to counter Decisive Strike or even nullify it. Hell, a fair balance to Decisive Strike would be NOT giving the survivor a speed boost to run away. The killer is already stunned. The survivor gets to flee at an increased running rate also? It's not fair in my opinion.

This is another thing that needs to be reworked to create an even playing field for Survivors and Killers.

DS is perfectly balanced now, although it needs to be disabled when survivors open chests. You stating that 'it gives survivor a speed boost' shows that you know nothing about the perk.

I’d say it’s between Meyers or wraith. Both require zero skill and award easy kills through broken mechanics.

especially Meyers. I feel anyone can pick him up and be decent from the start. Which do you think is the most brainless killer to play? Thanks.

Twins, victor takes 0 skill to aim and the only strat is to proxy camp on hook

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

Is there really a reason to play him when Huntress exists? I decided to try him out today (only got him for his perks and haven’t touched him since) and he is kinda butt.

Not really sure how they should buff him but if he is overturned, he can become OP. His power atm seems only reliable in open maps and that’s it, at that point might as well M1 the survivor. I didn’t really like him at first (Look-wise) but he ended up growing on me. I really enjoy his laugh and his weapon quite a lot. The music is great as well.

I probably won’t play him anymore any time soon but he should definitely be looked at, maybe I am not playing him well.

The only reason to 'play' him is to listen to his lobby music, by far imo the best from all the killers.

  • @Jarol said:

Vera, I know it's annoying to have a witch in the game, it even sucks playing against her, but is there any way to nerf her? The use of traps in Shack is worse than insidious Bubba, they should give him a 16 meter range of a hook to set the traps. He takes all the fun out of a game and we must balance both sides to satisfy ourselves with blood points.

Add ons plus traps on hook need a change. Going against those dumb hag players who don't use traps until they hook someone and start place all next to the hook is hilarious.

  • Spirit and clown's iri insta down. Nurse is fine.

So to my understanding, the pipping system is meant to somewhat reflect a player's skill, but being facecamped and sacrificed on first hook makes it such that you get downed one time and then depip, after being denied the ability to demonstrate said requisite skill. Is that particularly fair?

(And this is with regard to game health not mechanics, I know how pipping works.)

Because u didn't loop the killer long enough/ teammates didn't do gens while you were looping. Even if you were camped and killed on first hook, you could still pull a safety pip especially if you're not the first to be chased (teammates getting hooked/ healing).

  • @Huntforkill said:

I think David king's perk has a good concept such as We Gonna live forever which is a good blood point farming anti-slugging perk but some of them are not worth to used and unreliable. No Mither the profit you get isn't compensated for the downside that you get injured from the start of the trial. Dead Hard which is designed to compensate for the downside of No Mither which to evade killer attacks when active at the right moment, mostly puts survivors exhausted because of a bad internet connection. So I came up with an idea that could make it work!

    No Mither

    • No longer give you a Broken status effect at the start of the trial.
    • You start a trial with a Healthy state After you took damage by the killer for the first time(Basic attack and power) you will get the Broken status effect for the rest of the trial.
    • Bleeding is suppressed at all times.
    • When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 50/75/100 %.
    • You can completely recover from the Dying state.
    • When injured, Your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Opening, and Unlocking are increased by 6/8/10 %.

Reason: By now Broken status display on survivor icon make the killer focus on a survivor who use No Mither on the start of the trial the change are made to disguise survivors who used No Mither to not get focus at the start of the trial and changing in a grunt of pain and increased in action speed is to reward the player for staying injured and compensate for the downside

    Dead Hard

    • Remove ability to active ability bottom while running to dash forward.
    • Now give you the Endurance status effect when you are not Exhausted.
      • Any damage is taken that would put you into the Dying State will instead trigger the deep wound status effect.
    • You will get Exhausted for 60/50/40 seconds after the Endurance status from this perk is used to blocking the damage you took from the killer.
    • You start a trial with a Healthy state After you took damage by the killer for the first time (Basic attack and power) you will get the Broken status effect for the rest of the trial.

Reason: Dead Hard is a perk that created to make you be able to take another hit from the killer this idea will make you be able to reliably take another hit from the kill but have to stay injured for the rest of the trial while you also have a risk of easily put into Dying state when used with other exhaustion perks

no mither needs a rework, everything else doesn't

I am already toxic survivor honey. I am clicky clicky and tbag survivor. And also this is not toxic but people finds this toxic.

I paid for this game and dlcs and i am playing both roles. Do not worry about this. I am also talking for survivor problems too. For example solo-q is terrible, Spirit needs nerf etc.

But you survivor mains only cares about survivor problems. I never saw survivors talked about stupid totem locations or keys. They are unfair for killers but who cares right? Survivor will get easy game with that.

Dude, i just said that this game is survivor-sided, which means i agree that killers are generally weaker than survivor. But totem spawns should not be changed at all, you are using a strong inconsistent perk so expect it to be cleansed at the start of the game. Good killers understand the risk of bringing hex perks, that's why they do things like ruin pop for a backup. There are so many buffs killers need but you complain about the wrong thing

I’ve been playing nemesis for about a week straight through all these bugs and lag and I can safely say he’s just a worse Pyramid head and a slightly better clown. He and clown suffer from the exact same problem, decent chase potential at the cost of horrendous map control. His zombies don’t make up for this at all as they can easily be rock stunned of snagged on random Geomentry; basically the zombie ai is bad and doesn’t really add much to nemesis. You will get a zombie being useful once a trial Maybe. Nemesis’s power is honestly just pyramid heads power but you have to build it up to be useful and it can’t hit through walls. Breaking pallets doesn’t help as pyramind can just hit through a wall. This is honestly a pathetic excuse for a Resident Evil chapter and I’m throughly disappointed in BHVR. This is the third chapter in a row that’s been disagreeing; a whole god damn year of basically no good content. You would think they would give half a ######### for what has to be one of their biggest chapters yet, but nooooooo. I’m sick of this #########, please get your act together BHVR.

Respect you? lmao you're typing like a 7th grader, killer players like you are why we have so many toxic survivors. There are a lot of unbalanced things in this game and majority of them favor survivors, but not totems, don't complain about things that don't need to be fixed. Corrupt is bad perk. When killers use this perk, i am doing other survivor objects. Cleaning totems, opening chests. Ruin is better.

As long as you're not doing gens, it benefits the killer. Who tf cares if you're opening chests or cleansing totems especially when the killer isn't running hex perks. If you think ruin is better, then why complain about totem spawns? You either get good or no value from ruin but corrupt will always benefit you.

  • @Northener1907 said:

It's really obnoxious.

How can I play with people more suited to my level of play? I'm sick and fkking tired of being cheated out of fair matches.

Okay, okay, okay. I know that it isn’t the “greatest” totem related perk that we have, but still I have to give it props. There has been at least three times in the last couple of days (I haven’t been using it much, honestly) where I have managed to cleanse a fairly closely guarded lit totem that I wouldn’t have been able to do without that added 20% stacking effect. Paired with small game it can actually make or break a match when the killer is totem dependent. It can be like a knife through butter!

I use it whenever im doing those tedious totem archives, bring a map and you can speedrun them very easily, also satisfying to cleanse totems faster.

Hawkins yes, and maybe original dead dog, but now survivors send me there intentionally because in order to have a chance I have to pretend I'm the Kool-aid man for the first five minutes to make the loops even remotely able to be ended.

The only true killer sided maps at this point are:

    Hawkins

    Shelter Woods

The Game Maybe depending on the Killer.

Meanwhile every killer groans when we see.

    Any McMillan Estate map

    Any Autohaven Map

    Any Coldwind Map

Midwich (I'll concede I think survivors hate this one almost as much as killers do)

    Lampkin Lane

    Badham Pre-School

The game is survivor sided if we're talking similar ranked killers and survivors. 4 red rank survivors, even in solo queue, are at an advantage against a red rank killer.

Don't forget the red forests maps, one of the largest maps with safe pallets everywhere.

with every other killer you can finish their daily challenge in a single round but nemesis's is you have to hit mutation 3, 4 times. note mutation 3 never wears off so max you can get is only 1 point a match. while others like pyramid head's of cage 4 survivors, or clowns hit 4 survivors that are intoxicated, or hag's hit 4 survivors with phantasm attack can all be achieved in one round. i believe it should be changed to something like hit 4 survivors with a mutation 3 tentacle. that way its challenging while at the same time not impossible to achieve in a single round.

Demogorgon has an even worse imo, having to fully charge shred attacks and get hits. With nemesis at least you're guaranteed to hit tier 3 per game so you know you're making progress.

It's been almost a month since his reveal. Will he ever get a buff to get out of D tier? He's just an incredibly boring and overall weaker Pyramid Head who's already incredibly boring.

Also fix your damn spawns, seeing 4 survivors all spawn on a different generator spread out on the horrible farm rework is NOT fun.

When are you going to be a good killer? Nemesis isn't nowhere near a D tier, he needs a few buffs and zombie ai tweaks to make him a solid A but he is not a weak killer at all.
