You're not describing Prove Thyself though? You're just describing Survivors playing the game in general.

All Prove Thyself does is make teaming up on gens less inefficient for Survivors but it's still inefficient and carries risks. I'm far more afraid of 3 Survivors split on gens while I'm chasing someone than 3 Survivors on the same gen using Prove Thyself.

Instead of running Discordance I would recommend Corrupt Intervention for this kind of thing. It's very good at giving you a breather in the first couple of minutes and delays the Super Gen Repair Squad just long enough for you to get a hook and start getting pressure before they get too much of a headstart. From there, it's your job to leverage that pressure into getting more downs and keeping things going.

Oh, and I'd like to call out "You can only chase 1 survivor" briefly. Yes, you can only chase 1 Survivor at a time, but there's no limits on how much you can pressure them.

This isn't just in the obvious form of being on the hook, going for the save, being downed or healing, this can also come in the form of proxy chasing. Your main target is someone else but the other Survivors still can't afford to ignore you and will have to scatter to an extent. If you chase two Survivors off a gen, consider briefly looking back at where the other guy went and if they greedily started working on the gen again, go straight for them and get the punish, for example.

prove thyself gives you a stackable 15% increase to gen repair speed , you can literally pop a gen in 30 seconds , ive actually used it to pop a gen in 20. i want you to go get into a chase and hook a survivor and see how long it takes you from start to finish. im also a red rank killer/survivor i know how to do chases lol at high rank survivors will stack and pop a gen while you are in chase , if you leave a chase they wait till you start a new one. its how you pressure the killer and is super easy to do

  • @dspaceman20 said:

No. Blast Mine is fine and doesn't need any changes.

only change i think it needs is to happen after the gen break not before everything else is fine

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

No, not strong in the slightest. It only wastes a marginal amount of the killers time.

unfortunately every second of a killers time matters, ive had multiple gens pop in 30 seconds so imagine being stunned for 7 seconds out of those 30 , all i think needs to be done is the stun and blind need to happen after the bar completes

  • @Laluzi said:

Eh. You have to spend 50 seconds on a generator for each (successful) use, and I find that its use is pretty dependent on killer playstyle. A killer that doesn't have Pop or Eruption may barely ever kick gens, a killer who relies on Ruin or Surge is going to do it even less, and many killers would rather scout the area for survivors, chase, hook, and then kick the gen, by which time Blast Mine has run out.

I'd be fine with the stun applying after the kick, but I don't see a problem with being stunned and blinded at the same time. You weren't going to accomplish anything with one or the other; both at the same time lets survivors make cheeky return-to-gen plays, but not much else.

oh no don't get me wrong i'm fine with it both blinding and stunning you as long as it takes place after the gen break

  • @bjorksnas said:

Its in a perfect spot, its a decently strong perk but it has plenty of bad match ups and counterplay

it does waste about 7 seconds of the killers time

1 second from the first kick

    4 second blind and stun

2 seconds from the 2nd kick

but honestly you shouldn't be kicking gens that much unless you have a perk for it like overcharge, oppression, or pop, since base regression is really weak, I think its fine the way it is especially since the change would only really save 1 second which is nothing in the grand scheme of things

to be fair its a good learning experience since its giving you opportunities to play around survivor perks and learn what perks they have to find weakspots on them or weaker links on their team

any regression is better than no regression it makes survivors have to at least go tap the gens , 7 seconds is way too long to waste when in most cases gens can take 30 seconds if stacked

dont know what to tell you homie, thats just hella unlucky man

no its just unfortunately how high rank is survivors have too much to work with and killers have little to nothing to slow survivor progress will in chase, thats what old ruin used to do but survivors complained that skill checks were too hard and got it nerfed. now everything is going to skill checks including struggle and wiggling , must not be that dang hard lol

It’s also dumb to have ruin undying tinkerer blight’s destroying solo players easily

just run small game or counter force

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

Nemesis, Twins (I don’t mind them but majority do), Deathslinger, Legion, Spirit, Clown, Freddy, Hag all suck to go against, and most of them are extremely common! I haven’t seen an Oni in weeks, not sure why freaking Legion is more popular than one of the most powerful killers

other than spirit and death slinger those killers are extremely easy to go against what are survivors smoking ? only reason people dislike nemesis is he denies pallets , which is a massively problem right now anyway i constantly have double and triple pallet spawns,. its honestly the same with death slinger he lets the killer deny survivors second chances sometimes and it infuriates survivor mains only killer that complaints are somewhat warranted on is spirit and that's only because her mind game potential is easy.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

    Run discordance and stop complaining

oh yes i forgot that discordance stops gens from being worked on while in chase, oh wait it doesnt , so all you will do is abandon chases repeatedly to do nothing to the gens and have people just hop on a new one or double back while you are in chase, or commit to chase and lose the gen for 1/12 downs you need. please learn the game and know what your are talking about before trying to be condescending.

  • @JimboMason said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2314230#Comment_2314230

my best advice is to do hit and runs, injure two people with discordance, dedicate to the weakest person within the group to get that first hook in, then slowly work up momentum

unfortunately against good players this barely works , i play at high rank with high rank survivors constantly , they just end up recovering and it just wastes time for little to no gain. thats if you even get a hit on them before they try to run you through every pallet on loan from home depot

  • @gnehehe said:

I thought that the worst case scenario for killers was 4 navy seals survivors doing generators on both sides of the map within 10 seconds of the game. You literally describe the opposite thing.

And if this is still is an issue for you, just equip Discordance/LethalPersuer and get the best start ever in this grouped-survivor scenario ...

again , as stated, you can only ever chase 1 survivor if the 1 survivor is good even slightly because of the multiple resources they have now , the others will stack while you are in chase , discordance goes off . then you are left with 2 choices commit and lose a gen or go back to the gen chase them off and start chase which starts the scenerio over . see the problem ? if you have insta downs great it will work on other killers it wont.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Nah it just needs a tiny one

prove thyself is a decent perk but its main flaw is that it forces survivors to stack up meaning when you disrupt the gen more survivors are pressured

however the main flaw I see with prove thyselfs power level is that it works with toolboxes which is just too much, so id much rather see the change if any that makes prove thyself inactive if you are using a toolbox (still gives other survivors the speedboost or you the speedboost if the other survivor is using a toolbox but they don't get the effects of the perk)

the problem with that is other survivors will just use tool boxes and the person with prove thyself gets the bonus. also they may all be on the same gen but you can only chase one of them at the time the other two will just double back hop on and pop in a matter a seconds. trust me , my friends and i do it to killers all the time even with out prove thyself or tool boxes its ridiculously easy

  • @Danyonetta said:

If you're running into a lot of people using prove thyself and getting value.... use discordance?

that works until you have to commit to a chase, and if you are constantly going back every time they hop on a new gen you wont down anyone if they are good

  • @Jay_Whyask said:

With the power of context clues I'm assuming it wants you to

    1. Set a trap
    2. Have a survivor disable the trap
    3. reset the trap
    4. have a survivor step in the reset trap

The challenge makes more sense when you replace "activated by a survivor" with "deactivated by a survivor"

the problem is i did that and it didn't work , i also had survivors get trapped in a trap, get out , i reset the same trap and caught another survivor. also didn't give it to me so i'm not sure if it was bugged or i'm missing something.

  • i have had 4 games where i hooked all the survivors in the basement multiple times and didnt even get a single credit toward the challenge getting old really quick

It's just a ploy for the fog whisperers to shill for the game. By giving them the codes fog whisperers numbers increase and in return they say "dbd is good :)))". That's the idea behind it at least.

exactly its absolutely stupid, what sucks is alot of these content creators are fair with their codes and actually are worth watching like paulie esther , but literally people are only there for codes then dip , when he had codes one of the streams had like 3000+ people in it then he had a stream saying hes out of codes and it only had 138

  • everyone hates it , its absolutely stupid I don't know why the dev's keep doing it , actually no I do know why they are only doing it to unfairly inflate the viewer base of their fog whisperers by making them get a ton of traffic for the codes should seriously be some kind of t.o.s. violation for inflating numbers like that. its all about greed they want their fog whisperers promoting their game and giving those creators bribes by views. its absolutely disgusting that those of us that ACTUALLY WATCH THESE CREATORS miss out on these charms simply because hundreds of people who don't watch these creators come just for the code. it is in no way fair especially since console people have a harder time putting it in and some plug in keyboards to put it in on console so those of us who cant do that are just straight up screwed. they seriously need to stop this crap and actually care about their player base not just be greedy little schmucks. they completely broke the game in this chapter yet we get to fight over trying to get a charm , 300k blood points isn't freaking anything in compensation for this chapter, how about give everyone this exclusive charm instead for messing up the game then never ever do these limited codes again.

Seems that the op dont know anything about horror games so first of you said that horror survival game that dosent mean that all the time you win against 4 survivors so whats the point calling horror game it should be called killer simulator or something if you cant catch a survivor its youre fault cuz you have enough tools to catch at least 1 or 2

you completely missed the point of what i said then, i didn't say killers should win all the time i said that survivors have a multitude of advantages over the killer, it'd be like you playing a horde survival game and them giving you multiple high tier weapons and traps from the start to do your job for you. survivors should have a chance to escape chases and have things to help them but not to the degree it is right now the main problem being how fast gens get done. they nerfed the killers momentum by shortening the chase register distance so it breaks easily at loops and they nerfed lust so it takes twice as long to tier up meaning slower killers are screwed and you break chase losing lust super easy. but they reverted the pallet nerfs back and barely touch survivors. the last nerfs survivors got was to healing and pallets on the map which they reverted sometime so we still get double pallet spawns and like 20+ pallets on them map (that may be an exaggeration i have to go count them) its true they are doing map reworks and they did loop reworks to make them have more short loops but all that did was make more loops that have double pallets and multiple short loops that are super close together.

  • @GrootDude said:

It sounds like you aren’t a good killer tbh. Never chase a survivor longer than 30 seconds, learn mind games (won’t always work), always try to have one survivor slugged/hooked and another in chase.

you must not play killer in high ranks , you can stick to the whole don't chase a survivor longer than 30 seconds thing but it just makes them be able to gen rotate as you leave survivors so they get multiple gens almost done so they pop simultaneously, its a lose lose situation, and there's only so much you can do with mind games against survivors who also know the mind games for loops

  • @SunderMun said:

This is literally the purpose of the map reworks????

except all the map reworks did was make double pallet loops a thing and in multiple locations so survivors have even more pallets to work with and more god loops between 2 pallets

But when survivors do make mistakes it is usually catastrophic resulting in a snowball.

not really depends on the rest of the time at the most a mess up in a chase means a hook , where it goes from there depends on the other survivors , if the killer is dumb and camps you can churn out most if not all the gens before the hooked person dies , if the killer doesnt you can get a save and if its safe go back about your business , but it can give the killer momentum especially insta down killers

It is ironic that the potential of tunneling contributes greatly to the urgency of getting gens done faster. I know after I get tunneled the next match I am trying even harder to get gens done fast.

its the same with gen rushing for killers , makes most low level killers tunnel in their next games and I've come across killers that apparently that's the only way they play because of it. its a vicious cycle.

  • @Skid said:

i bet you’re a rank 15 killer that has little knowledge about the real balance issues in the game... gen rushing lul

actually currently purple rank going against red ranks, you must be the type of survivor who got freddy nerfed day 1 and got ghost face nerfed twice when you can break him out of his ability in less time than it takes him to mark you lol

  • @Witas said:

Well, the game IS balanced, but it's balanced for awfull survivors (which is 90% of the survivor community). The games ARE even with these survivors, even though for the wrong reasons, it's not because people somehow know how to escape, which would lead to even matches, as they all go down in a ######### second (######### most of the survivors are awfull), but because the games end in 3 minutes (They always do, it's just that with most of the community you'll be able to snag a kill or two in these 3 minutes). The second atleast 2 people know what they're doing, you're not winning, or even putting up a fair fight (Unless you're the Nurse, but honestly she's bullshit to an extent where it's pointless to even talk about her) and it's not the killer's fault, he could be good, he could be mindblowingly amazing, but it changes nothing, it never does since they'll just finish all the gens in 3 minutes.

exactly and this is what encourages toxic behavior like tunneling and camping, especially tunneling because killers want to get people out as fast as possible so they dont get gen rushed in 2-3 minutes , hex ruin slows it a bit but usually breaks in the firs 15 seconds. survivors will bring tool boxes and brand new parts to gen rush and think its fine to speed through their objective , but then call killers trash for tunneling aka survivor rushing which is their objective. i dont condone tunneling or camping at all but with how unbalanced it is , i cant say i dont see why low tier killers do it.

tbh its red ranks , you wouldnt expect a potato there would you? also arent they a minority anyways?

not in the least , even when im in rank 10-8 i get full red rank teams because of how many their are and match making it blows ,its stating that at high ranks survivors still have the advantage because as stated if a survivor knows the game and makes no mistakes the killer basically cant get momentum enough to do anything, that's why nurse, billy and spirit are basically the most used killers at high rank

  • @Karl_Childers said:

@forrest49 Not really, it was between 50-60% and rank 1 was I believe only 43%. Also it’s a certainty that EGC has brought down all the survival rates across the board significantly

end game is a joke survivors still get save and sit in gates just t bagging lol nothing has changed really, and no the percentage was 80% escape rates from 7-3 , and 60% escapes at rank 1 or 2 , alot of people posted it on their face book

  • @Mänzel said:

They will work on loops. Actually there are so many loops that are simply too beneficial and not mindgamable... So devs decided to remove big loops and make more smaller loops. This is a really good thing think.

Imo loops should be about mindgames...

This will come and I think it's a good thing.

i agree 100% a lot of jungle gyms and loops have no mind game potential at all, whats funny is a lot of survivors are complaining that ghost face is too easy in spite of how easy it is to kick him out of shroud (1.5 seconds), but most higher rank people only use shroud to eliminate their stains at loops so they dont know where hes coming so they can mind game.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

So if survivors have it easy what does that say about really good killers?

Are they just lucky to get 4k matches or just play uber sweaty? Or perhaps they actually took the time to learn the game and learn to mind-game survivors.

Just because a survivor has basic pallet looping knowledge doesn't mean they have it "easy". If you have basic looping knowledge as killer you would know the do's and don'ts.

They've changed vaults now, so you should be happy that it isn't going to be so "easy" anymore.

yeah it is great they fixed vaults so survivors cant get fast vaults from standing at a window anymore , and if you read as i stated all killers even high rank can only play as good as the survivors worst player , killers have to rely on mistakes to get momentum and if good survivors do not make any there is literally nothing the killer can do , want to talk mind games how about remove the red stain completely so survivors dont get tipped where the killers coming so we dont have to moon walk to even attempt a swing at loops. yes i out smart and mind game survivors all the time , you know what i barely have to do as survivor i dont have to rely on mind games i rely on the game design to run killers around all game and make them rage quit it id beyond easy. thats all im saying.

What game are you seriously playing?  as a killer I assume you don’t see the problem with your statement. You shouldn’t be able to run across the map in the time you claim. It’s cause you are to fast & it takes the gate to long to open so you need to clock yourself before complaining about people with no powers or specialty like the killers have

first off survivors have a ton of perks to increase speed he had sprint burst which let him get there that quickly , if you think your statement is true you either never play survivor or are very bad at it. also i'm assuming you were saying i camp ? i do not its a stupid and toxic thing to do and i refuse to just camp someone out , only time i stay by hooks is if i see someone nearby
