Toxic Behavior?

Hello fellow community,

Question of the day!

Do you feel that if a Killer can down and slug all four Survivors, Then try to hook them all to get the 4K is considered Toxic Behavior? Would love to hear everyone's opinion on this.

  • Not toxic, but unless it's a scenario where the killer absolutely HAS to do that, it seems unnecessary, boring, and I'm not sure how anyone could even have fun doing it. It's certainly unfun for both sides.

  • I think it's more boring for both sides rather than toxic. But that's just my two cents :P

Nothing in this game is toxic gameplay wise.

  • Well, I consider "toxic" anything that is done with the intention of annoying the other side.

If the killer did this because it was the best play at the moment, it is alright.

If the killer did it because he could, because he wanted to, said killer is toxic.

  • A nontoxic but risky stagey.

If they all are left to bleed out without a attempt at hooking them it is then 'taking the game hostage' and then toxic.

  • On an unrelated note, seeing the word toxic made me remember no0b3 exists/ed

It's not taking the game hostage as everyone will bleed out after a set time it might be toxic but it is not taking the game hostage, taking the game hostage is i.e trapping the last survivor in a corner with them having no way to get past you and you just stand there blocking them and doing noting making the game last i.e 30 min.

It could be very fun for killer. I did that a few times with Nurse. I just wanted to practice blinks and not worry about anything else. So, don't be so certain that it's unfun for both sides.

  • Most killers can't slug 4 survivors right off the bat. You need hit 4 people 2 times. Killer needs to have someone around when he down survivor to quickly switch target. Otherwise killer would just waste time searching for survivors while downed one get picked up.

But if survivors decided to stay injured and group in one place, any killer can slug them there. Maybe my opinion will be unpopular, but it's survivors' fault they let it happen. So most of the time there is no toxicity from killer, he just use the opportunity that survivors give him.

  • I would purge the word "toxic" from your vocabulary and ignore anyone who throws it around willy-nilly. It is a subjective term and utterly devoid of real meaning. There are simply things which are within the rules and things which are not. All a Player has to do to be a good sport in Dead by Daylight is:

    1. Don't cheat, either by hack or lag spike.
    2. Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

That's it; that is all it takes not to be a bad sport, or toxic, or whatever term you want to apply. Playing within the rules, as hard as you like, is still fine and dandy.

If you enjoy playing like that then I'm happy. As long as you enjoy it, then don't take what I say personally.

Boring and frustrating? Yes. Toxic? No.

The line between the two would be if he downed all four and just ran around letting them all bleed to death, wasting several minutes in multiple people's lives for no good reason whatsoever.

  • Not toxic just not fun to play that way.

  • No, not toxic. However, if a killer decides to do that from the beginning - and the survivors are spread out - then that is quite dickish.

Basically, if all 4 are slugged early on but were foolish enough to group closely together, then the killer can't be blamed for taking that opportunity. Also, if it's close to the end, the killer slugging may well be its best course of action.

To add, going for the slug option also has risks, such as becoming too tunnel-visioned to ignore everything else (not to mention if they're being dodged for days by an especially skillful survivor.

  • It's boring more than anything
