    THE DETAILS!!

Things like hearing the safe room music when entering one of the typewriter rooms.

Oh my god. I’m in love with the amount of authenticity, mixed with twists from The Entity.

    Bravo BHVR. Bravo 👏🏻

Agreed. I love that freaking map.

Why do act like it’s your duty to protect all killers. Are you their lawyer? There are killers that tunnel deliberately during the event so the survivor only gets 5k base points. They only care about the bloodpoints they get.

I'm an equal opportunity protector. When I say someone say something idiotic about Survivors (from a Killer role perspective) I go after that too. For example, I always weigh in when I see people whining about Dead Hard. That aside, in my experience, playing BOTH roles, I find that most Players do not correctly identify Tunneling or Camping. They just claim it constantly as a scapegoat rather than admit their own failures. The Event gives you the chance to earn MORE points. It does not obligate either role to farm. If that is your expectation, you are being rude an unrealistic.

And there is nothing you can do? Those 2 disconnected players were cause they were tunnelled by this killer who then was harassing us in a post match chat about how idiotic we are and how funny it was to troll it for us not getting points.

Like I don't really get it why you have to suffer from this.

I did a little math. One of the Survivors who didn't quit earned 67K instead of the 15K that would have been earned without this event. The other one earned 40K instead of the meager 9K that would have been earned. Now think of all the additional points that could have been earned if the pathetic losers hadn't disconnected. I swear you people are the most ungrateful, entitled Trolls I've ever seen.

You still get more points whether it is against Santa Killers or those going 110%. Why are you complaining about the Killer when the picture you show us has TWO DCs? Those are the people you should be posting about, the ones who left you in a lurch and made it impossible to win.

Did they make it possible to go in a custom game alone?

No but you can create a free secondary account and share DbD with it. Then log into both from different stations and create a custom game to walk around in with your alternate just standing there. Or if you really want, I'll be happy to help you look at it. Chances are you can find someone.

  • Game play is what you make of it. This map is 100% different from all the others. That shakes up the meta, and anything that does that is ok by me. Yes it is a maze; we learn mazes. Yes it is big; that makes it a different kind of challenge. Nothing worth doing comes easy. Of course it is going to take some time to get used to the map.

  • @BingBongMan said:

Like seriously, i just played on this map for the first time. It's like they saw the purposefully confusing map design of RCPD and thought

    "P E R F E C T."

It is awful to play on both sides. Not only because the design is confusing, but because it encompasses every bad thing people don't want in a map. It's indoors, the map is massive, it has multiple stories, very narrow hallways, and is confusing as all hell.

They could have given us a map in the Raccoon city streets. Which frankly were way less confusing than the goddamn police department. But no, BHVR decided to go with the worst possible map without thinking of how to make the map work with DBD.

I love the map. You don't know it yet, but within two weeks you will know its ins and outs just fine. :) Yes it is big. Yes it is a maze, but it isn't that difficult a maze. It also has good choke points and lots of good short cuts. Play it, learn it, and you will like it just fine. You can create a custom game and just walk around exploring it. That is what I did.

  • I've suggested this myself, i.e. if you ran the Killer for a number of Generators you would be earning points and Emblem Advancement. If you are holding them to you, because they want to camp, it has the same effect. I don't think it does any harm to award points to the Hooked Survivor when the Killer is near and not in a chase.

That would be amazing! I was wanting to do that but we don't have anyone to play with besides each other, I'll keep you updated!

No problem and glad to be of help. Just be prepared for your friend to still not click with DbD. The game isn't for everyone. Even with a slow tutoring, low gear games, he/she might not get into it. Just let me know and we will work out logistics. The EVENT starts tomorrow and bear in mind that every match you spend in Custom Games will be matches you are losing out on the Event stuff, so you might want to do your thing with your friend "after" the event, or at least after you have earned all the stuff at the event you want.

I will force water down this horses throat, a year of begging is not going to waste now.

Tell you what... if you end up running shy of enough people for custom games (like I suggest), let me know and I'll play with you guys in whatever role you need. I'm confident you can get enough people, but if not, me and mine will help you out.

sorry to hear you feel that way.

I put far too much time effort and money into the game to just move on. I also feel like I have a right to say how I feel about the state of the game at the moment. NMW I will always love DBD and don't want it to die by any means. I want people to enjoy it like I have. Im sure this is just a phase for me and I will be over by noon tomorrow. You know when the Grind becomes less Tedious. I'm just venting and I am sure I have the right to do so

Sure you have the right to say whatever you want. Just be aware of how "I'm done, stick a fork in me" speech comes across. It is awful every time I hear someone do it. I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm being honest and direct. I've liked a lot of your posts and think you are a fine fellow. I just think this kind of posting is weak, and won't get you what you want anyway. It is kind of like the kid who threatens his parents with running away. We all know how that argument goes and how impotent a threat it happens to be. You just undermined yourself by saying you've invested too much.

Give your advice and feedback; I do myself. Be clear, precise and support your arguments. Leave the angst and drama out of it though. They tune out melodramatic posts instantly. Be business-like and you are more likely to get results.

  • @ill_Boston_lli said:

I am a 4 year veteran of this game. Over 3k escapes and over 21k kills. I am losing interest as I cannot just play any killer if i want to enjoy myself. I have to play killers who ######### loops down or are just flat out strong. Trapper isn't an option Deathslinger isn't an option pretty much any killer that doesn't have mobility and a good anti loop. this leaves what like 3 killers that stand a chance high level if that. And these 3 killers are highly complained about. What can bvhr do to even reconcile this? I feel like we are in too deep with what DBD has become and sadly I am bored. If I want to play other killers I need to be lower rank and that's just not feasible.

Note: I changed the Title because I may have exaggerated initially.

Then it may be time to move on, seek your bliss. There are literally thousands of games at your fingertips that can be downloaded, installed, and played within minutes. I'm not being snide or sarcastic. If you can't find ways to enjoy the game anymore, to challenge yourself, to renew your interest, then you have one sensible choice. One day, I too will find I no longer can muster enough interest to play. On that day I will follow my own advice. The difference between you and I is I won't even stop by here to give my "goodbye cruel DbD" speech. When people do this it seems a bit melodramatic and self serving. We change, much faster than the game, and it is only natural that interest will wane. I keep my interest by challenging myself in different ways, going against things people say can't be done. That works for me, but I realize people are different and what works for me may not work for you. The only advice I can give is hit the road or FIND a way to reinvigorate yourself. Don't sit on the fence, as that makes no sense. :) Stay and reinvest or go. Don't malinger around moaning and groaning. It is unseemly.

So after like a year of begging my friend FINALLY installed dbd. The game is right up his alley but he refuses to watch any videos on the game or even play the dang tutorial so hes running around like a chicken with no head. I know that he would love the game if he just gave it more effort but he won't, does anyone have any ideas of how to get him to put more effort into the game or maybe just something to say to him so he knows what he's doing? I'm not good at explaining things so I can't even try to explain it to him myself.

Play custom games with him (and some others if possible) and tutor him properly so he hits the ground running. Games in a slower gear to build up his basic skills are best.

It's gotten stale and tedious, and it doesn't help that the devs are digging the grave deeper and deeper.

They ban people here for mentioning creators who call them out. Time and time again ignoring the community only to realize the mistake months later. They've stopped being open with the community (Where all those streams go? Wasn't that your way of being open with the community?)

Oh and the chapters - Twins chapter: Bad, Trickster chapter: Bad, The Resident Evil chapter: Terrible.

We have had 3 unimpressive chapters in a row, with probably the BIGGEST LICENSE being the worst of them. Seriously how did you guys screw up the Resident Evil chapter THIS badly? The killers power isn't unique, most of the perks are meh at best, the zombie AI is dumber than a box of rocks (Even going so far as getting stuck on OPEN AIR), killed console with even worse optimization (If you even tried optimizing it), and the new map hasn't been working since the chapter released.

There's even people trying to boycott the game.

I want this game to be the best it can be, but since you guys have no more competition it just feels like you've stopped trying altogether.

    Happy Trails!

Or, hear me out, I shouldnt have to use a perk in solo when I'm already in disadvantage when swf gets it for free.

The Killer had to use a Perk slot for the Noed? The problems with SWF (which are many) are irrelevant here. And I manage to cleanse an average of three Totems a game without using a Perk at all.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Honestly the longer it’s disabled the better. The map is completely garbage

I happen to like that map. I got to play it a few glorious times before it went offline, and I played it in the PTB. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very nice change of pace. I suspect you and I look at maps differently. I like them to shake things up. I don't ever want the game to have become some ritualistic and methodical that all the maps play the same way. I don't even like that Survivors are just skins. I would much prefer each Survivor had a unique power, i.e. one of their Perks, normally a less generalized one, was built into them and removed. Botany Knowledge for Claudette for example. I don't like that they are just skins. I accept it but I don't like it.

The maps being as diverse as possible is important, so nobody can get complacent.

  • No, it doesn't. I also play Survivor (Solo) and average killing three Totems a match along with doing two Generators myself as well as helping on others. That is aside from the saves and healing. What I have found as a both a Killer who can see you (Spooky Myers) and as a Survivor, is that many Players spend a GOOD portion of the match doing nothing at all. They squat around, they hesitate, they self heal in corners, and they hunt for chests and dig around for JUNK which at most will only shave off seconds. The ironic thing is what it saves them is less than what they spent going to get the JUNK.

If you spend the majority of your time actually doing things, you get more done. There is an old saying, if you need something done, find the BUSIEST person you know. They will get it done. The "not busy" people you know will still, somehow, not finish it on time. Do your Bones. They are worth points. They are easy. They are worth Emblem advancement. And who knows, you might save yourself from NOED. Every Survivor passes (and sees) at least one Totem as the mince around the map. If they stopped and spent the sixteen seconds (or less with the right Perk) that kills FOUR Totems for certain. Get it?

  • @Wavy said:

    Baby killer defends NOED.

<Laughs> I'm not a baby Killer. :) But suit yourself. I don't think NOED is going anywhere no matter how much you moan and groan about it. They just gave you a bunch of brand NEW ways to kill it. There is a Perk that lets you cleanse totems FASTER and find them quicker. Are you sure that you can't see what the DEV are trying to tell you? :)

  • No, it isn't. I don't have the time or patience to write you an essay on it, but I could. The Perk is perfectly fair, probably one of the most balanced in the game. It is simply reviled because it plays on weakness of Players who do not want to do ANYTHING other than Generators. It is one of those things that is entirely in the hands of the Survivors; they decide if it goes off or not. You know when it is going to trigger, you know how to turn it back off. You know how to stop it. You have entire game where the Killer is playing one Perk down on the BET that you will be lazy. Get the program and do your secondary objectives.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2318581#Comment_2318581

But there’s no way to communicate who’s doing what in a solo game. Maybe if they didn’t tie to totem counter to a perk this wouldn’t be an issue

But this wasn't a problem once upon a time. You know that as well as I do. There was time when Solo Queue was far bigger than the number of SWF. It was competitive. They worked together. They did Bones. They managed to accomplish the things that SWF do now. What happened? :) Just because it is EASIER for SWF doesn't mean Solo can't do it. They did it just fine before.

  • @EldritchElise87 said:

Normally I don't like to ######### on bhvr because theres alwqays factors that we as players arnt aware , but i its not fixed today, 2 weeks is a bit of a joke for a new map.

Then don't? I'm sure they want that map up even more than we do. There is what we want to be done and what can be done. If it is up today, great! If not, my Map Offerings will keep. The era of instant gratification has so many of you impatient for everything. I'm not saying it shouldn't be up, I'm just saying it isn't the end of the world.

  • NOED is one of the easiest Insta-Down abilities to counter in the game. It is a huge gamble for the Killer to run it (or not of the Survivors are lazy and won't do Bones). The DEV have given you SO MANY tools to find and kill Totems efficiently that it isn't even funny. If it isn't apparent by now, let me spell it out for you, they are not going to get rid of NOED. They have given you everything you need to do it yourself.

  • @Phasmamain said:

The problem is mostly a solo queue issue. Sometimes I’ll cleanse 4 totems and the last one in a corner of the map becomes Noed and I die because of it. Not much I can do there

Yeah, but it wasn't always an issue. The fact that Solo Queue Players don't bother anymore isn't a problem with NOED. They are simply going to have to step up and not leave ALL the cleansing to you.

I do think they shouldnt do things just because the community says they should. We all remember how well Freddys release went after PTB feedback... That said theres a lot of things they've said they would do and never did, nor did they comment on it ever again. And I'm not talking about game balance things. Optimization, etc. Things that are needed for the game to simply function. I feel people have tried the feedback thing and its just not working. Their silence is doing more harm to them now. Insults and threats are never appropriate. Do I think the current plan is the right one? No. Do I have any better ideas on what should be done? Also no.

These are fair observations. But I want to delve a little deeper here; who has a greater vested interest in making the game work, us for whom this is just diversion, a break from our day? Or is it the people whose very jobs rely on it. It puts food on the tables for their children. It pays their bills. It gives them job security. I've researched this, going back to when the DEV were far more transparent and open with us. The reason they aren't now is because they payed a heavy price, getting kicked in the groin repeatedly by the so-called community every time they tried to be nice guys. There is only some much aversion therapy that one can take before one stops doing something. If we want the DEV to open back up WE have to give them a reason. Can it be done? I don't know. This Forum is worthless, just another cesspool of mostly entitled Trolls who have nothing better to do. And yes, I recognize the irony involved in the fact that I am a regular poster. I flatter myself that I do try to be constructive and I do it for a purpose. The problem is most people here have no social skills, understanding of the real world, or simply don't care to grant other people (or the DEV) simple courtesies. This Forum is "white noise" and really doesn't provide them with any useful information because it is all conflicting.

One of the reasons I suggest Players organizing Leagues on their own, utilizing the Custom Game Format, creating their own sites and perhaps streaming and building it up is because that promotes tutoring new Players, recruitment, and growing the game. If that took off, the people doing those things would have some weight behind what they say. it is a positive feedback loop. It is one of the few things that works on the video game business model as far as leverage. But it involves effort beyond just posting. It requires walking the walk. It means organizing and setting up sites and leaderboards and teams and leagues and all that jazz. Do I think there are enough motivated people to do it? I don't know. I would, but I can't do it alone.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

    Yes and no.

I disagree with the premise that if you're not satisfied with something just move onto something else without giving feedback. Constructive criticism is how people and companies grow. Heck, most companies have exit interviews for this reason.

"The moment people start leaving they start cutting how much they put into it". I think people start leaving BECAUSE they started cutting what they put into it. If things operated as well as it did initially I doubt customers would be this riled up...

Yes, but somehow we skipped that whole "constructive criticism" stage and went right to ranting, insults, threats, claims that Dead by Daylight is dying. In short, we worked really hard (as a so-called community) to create a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'm all for constructive critiques. I give my two cents to the DEV off and on. I've been pretty vocal about what I think is causing most of the balance problems and how to fix it. However, I don't take it as a personal insult when they don't take my advice. I give my theories, support my conclusions, and put forward my advice. What they do with it is up to them. It has no bearing on whether I will continue to play or spend money. It isn't "my way or the highway" or anything so dramatic. People play games until they no longer find them fun. Then they move on; all things must come to dust. What I am suggesting, based on a pretty reliable track record in the video game industry, is that the recent activities (which I will not go into) do not work. They actually have the opposite effect. It is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Some industries can be moved in this way, but the online video game model isn't one of them. You have to approach them from a different angle.

And let's tell the truth and shame the devil, even if they did EVERYTHING the majority of people are calling for, there would still be a very vocal crowd of people spewing bile because we aren't really speaking with one voice, or wanting the same things. Even if they did fix all the problems, gave the majority what they want, this game might still have already run its course. It is a ritualistic chase game which amounts to a modern day version an 80s arcade game. Without significant changes in complexity, it can only go so far on new skins, cosmetics, and variations of a monster slashing you. Thus, when we attack the DEV and make them feel unappreciated and ring those "diminishing returns" alarms, we are only hastening the destruction of the thing we claim to love. I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing. I'm not trying to win points in this MEANINGLESS forum. I'm stating this, taking the time to explain things, because I enjoy this game and I've been down this road before. I know where it ends. I'm betting most of you do too. The strength and community of Dead by Daylight is in OUR hands, our organization to promote play, recruit people, setup our own formats and leagues (by use of custom games), creating our own sites where we track said stuff. We could be tutoring new Players ourselves. Those are signs of a healthy, ongoing hobby with many years left in it. That is the kind of organization and activism that will get you somewhere.

  • I've become competent with Myers, by my way of rating things. I'm more a Jack of all trades and master of none. This game is always evolving and changing, so I'm not sure anyone can truly master anything here.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2315966#Comment_2315966

Well....Idk if tunnel and camping happens on the same degree than on Solo Q as I only play solo. I´ve played hard tunnel games since the first hook with 5 gens.

What I mean is that as u say SWF have that amazing "5th perk" (communication) that allows them to play more efficient against any kind of strategie.

Communication commands would be essential for Solo Q. A lot of RTSG have it implemented (" Go for rescue", " Exit door opened", "Killer camping"; etc). That and a Ping System. I´d start over there and check the results.

And when Solo Q would approach on performance as SWF, is when Devs would be able to propperly balance the game and buff the weaker killers so they also have a chance. Blight, nurse and spirit can bear the best SWF. The rest....not much. But vs Solo Q anything can works (specially if you tunnel and camp).

What I'm pointing out is that SWF's amazing 5th Perk (Comms) has created the situation we all play in today. Killers adapt to the reality of the game. They play meaner, faster, and are far less forgiving because they have to do so. They don't know if you are a SWF or not. But if they don't treat you like one, their game can be effectively decided in the first two minutes. Let's be honest, tell the truth and shame the devil. There is NOTHING that the DEV can ever do to bring Solo up to be equal to SWF potential OTHER than having Solo on Comms. No amount of animations and in-game communication compares to the power of speech and four people sharing four Perks. The problem isn't Tunneling or Camping. It isn't that Solo Queue isn't strong enough (they were fine and competitive once). It is SWF. That is an ever growing problem.

So while I agree that more communication options for Solo would be great (I also play Solo), I'm pragmatic enough to understand it won't affect the problem you are concerned with in any meaningful way. SWF has to be mitigated by unlocking a 5th Perk whenever Killers face them, as well as buffing Solo a bit in the communication department. 3-Person SWFs need to go away. Either two or four. The Red Shirt situation needs to end. It destroys the Solo Queue's faith in one another when the Red Shirt is used as an asset. There are lots of things that can be done, but bringing Solo UP is just treating a symptom. And it won't work.

  • @Artemisha said:

If Behaviour would finally buff the hell of Solo Q and give us communication tools, Solo Q would be able to handle this "abuse of the glitch" that is tunneling and camping.

How exactly? :) Bear in mind that I'm not disagreeing that Solo Queue needs some help, and some extra animations to communicate would be great. I'm asking you how exactly you think that would do anything whatsoever to mitigate camping/tunneling? SWF and their 5th Perk (Comms) is WHY Killers have to play rattlesnake mean. Do you think SWF don't run into Tunneling and Camping to the same degree the Solo do? Killers adapt to the reality of the game.

  • @Emeal said:

There are two reasons tunnelling happens:

The Killer has not found another survivor on the map. (this is why BBQ is great)

The unhooked survivor isn't injured. (survivors need a perk that makes them look injured when they unhook another to fool killers.)

This is an interesting idea; call the Perk, "Lame Duck" or "Decoy." You should make the suggestion in the feedback area. It would add a nice addition to the game.

So now we can’t have simple respect for others feelings in a game? The killers objective is to kill, not ruin others games because of their selfishness. I’m sorry but if you can’t play the game without ruining others experience you shouldn’t play.

We do. We all have a social contract. We know the game and what it entails. The Killer's job is to kill you, and the Survivor's job is to escape. Everything within the rules is respecting the feelings of others. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You seem utterly incapable of separating your personal, real world feelings from the game. That is not healthy. It is a symptom of larger issues. In the game, we take on a role. Playing that role within the rules (and to win) is respectful. I assume, and give you the benefit of the doubt, that you are adult and if you are in the match with me you understand how the game is played. I do not expect you to throw a tantrum when you lose. That is disrespectful.

No you really didn’t deserve that, very sorry to hear. But do you think tunneling other innocent people will make it better? I don’t know anyone who has been nice to a tunneler/camper in the end game chat and I don’t think I will find someone who eats the ######### and continues being nice. No one will do that.

The Killer's job is to kill all the Survivors. It isn't personal. It isn't aimed at wrecking your day or upsetting you outside the game. It is the game. People who do garbage and vile salt aren't doing it for an in-game purpose. They are defective people who want to upset someone outside the game. You need to get your priorities straight. In the game, the Killer is not your friend, the opposite in fact.

  • I'm not saying I know what can be done, but I will say that my experiences with him have not been positive. I've had my say on it and I'll just wait for the metrics. Those are going to be the only thing that tell the tale.

  • I personally think the super speed OR the super lunge, but not both. The true invisibility combined with either of those things would have been more than enough of a Boost. The two together seem too much to me.

No, its just becoming way more common. Why else do you think it grabbed the attention of that streamer? The release of nemesis exploded its popularity.

Holding W was heavily complained about when Midwich was released because that map just highlighted the issue.

I disagree. I think the Streamer made it more common knowledge because it was affecting him. He gave it more press so more people realized it was a thing. It has always been around and personally I don't care. I deal with it as a Killer, just like any other Survivor tactic. The whole thing is a "nothing burger."

  • @Unifall said:

I've been running bamboozle, ruin, pop and corrupt on nemesis. Corrupt to gain at tier 2 or down a survivor, ruin to get some early gen regression and pop in case they cleanse it. Bamboozle is a great perk for M1 killers so they're able to cut the chase short in shack or jungle gyms. As far as add ons id go with infection ones.

As someone who plays a lot of Myers, I agree. Babmoozle has helped me against a lot of really impressive loopers who would have otherwise eaten my lunch. My Build is generally only 105% speed.

Oh you are definitely after me if you think it’s your duty to “remind” me of stuff. It seems very important for you to 1v1 me. What more do you want? Autographs?

Actually, I'd just like you to act in a civilized manner. Your posts are awful, you so-called arguments the worst sort of fallacy, and you have a weird need to brag about yourself. There is literally nothing I can write that makes you look worse than you do yourself. Oddly enough, despite the fact that I do not like you, I am trying to help you. Food for thought.

You have got to be crazy if you think I will cry over something on the internet. And why do you care so much about my skills? Can’t say anything these days because you are after me, I don’t need to avoid a topic for you to leave me alone

I'm not after you. I actually find you rather one note, tedious. But however odious I may find you, when you stick your neck out, it is my duty to remind you of that time you cried off. I'm just saying the easiest way to not hear from me is stop bragging about yourself. :) I'm helpful that way.

Fam ur acting like I care do you think I will cry everytime you say that? Geez I was just joking can you stop taking everything seriously

I KNOW you do. :) You are just that kind of person. Cowards die a thousand deaths, a hero but one. But I'll leave you alone for now, until the NEXT time you brag about your skills. Avoid that topic and I'll ignore you. Start writing more checks your body can't cash, well I'm going to be there.

Bro, I don’t waste my time on people like you. That’s why I didn’t 1v1. Ur just salty because im good

Allegedly. :) You challenged me remember and then puckered and ran like hell when I said, "let's do it." :) I'm not salty at all. I just love watching you make a fool of yourself over and over again. You do know that you are ALWAYS going to be defined by that one moment when you blinked and cried off (as Roland of Gilead would say). Nothing else you ever do here will matter. For the most part I've been going easy on you, I could be rubbing your face in it every time you post. I'm not quite that shallow. However, whenever you talk up your LEGENDARY skills, well you are just asking to be reminded about that time you squealed and ran.

Yes I have, a game on coldwind vs a 4man. Pretty good players if I say so myself. No tunneling or camping involved, just pure skill.

Is that the same mythical skill you said you had when you threw down the gauntlet to verse me and then promptly took it back and ran for the tree line? :) Just pure skills we never saw?

Anyone else experiencing this? Even at traditionally peak times my survivor queues are still pretty fast.

Nope. As a Killer I get instant queues. As a Survivors 3-5 minutes today.

There’s a lot of good stuff available for shards. I bet everyone could go awhile without actually buying anything.

Cosmetics are entirely luxury items. They are worth it if you like a look and want to sport it. They have no value in the game, and in fact are often counter productive depending on how much the stand out.

  • @Sluzzy said:

There is not much about these two that are meta changing. Hardly seeing anyone use their perks because they are subpar in helping win. Blast Mine doesn't stop PGTW.  It's a minor 4 sec stun, killer proceeds to pop it anyway costing the survivor a lot of objective progress regardless. Killer still uses their perk. And if the killer has Ruin which is most likely the case, then the perk is completely useless, at least for most of the match. The effects of blast mine are negligible at best. Flash Bang is too difficult to use, requires extreme precision for a blind to the killer if at all, killers are countering it in matches by looking straight up into the sky. I have yet to see flash bang do anything useful in the game. Too easy to counter. Requires a SWF to use it. Why are the devs forcing the use of SWF to play the game?

Killers are not at all concerned about blast mine and they are not worried about flash bang. Why does it have an audible cue so the killer can look away?

Why is counterforce so weak?  The totem glowing completely across the map is not much of a perk. Why can it not show all totems? Survivors already have to do two and three objectives when killer only has to do one. The killer is already totally changing the game in their favor with Ruin and probably Undying to make it that much harder.  Is it too much to ask for a perk to help counter it, well? There is too much protectionism for killers.

Blast Mine should prevent the killer from kicking it a second time, due to the explosion, or at a minimum disable PGTW and regression perks!  Flash bang should be easier to use, more effective and have longer lasting effects. The survivor meta is still mostly the same and nothing can stop the killer meta.

You feeling a dip in views Sluzzy? Gotta try and get back on your weird horse with more bait? :)

Dear Michael Myers players, I have a question for you.

What is the fun of playing him with Tombstone? You end the game pretty quickly. Barely gets any blood points from it, derank/depip and you give survivors a bad game experience.

Tell me why you play with this add-on, like why do you like it to use it?

The Tombstone is only dangerous to you right now, as a relative newcomer, because you and your team don't take the right precautions to keep him from stalking up so fast. The reason Myers doesn't bring it all the time is because:

    1. Once the Survivors know what they are doing it isn't easy to Tier up.
    2. You can Mori by accident and thus lose points and Pips due to the way emblems work.
    3. Many Killers are just too nice.

I have hundreds of them. I could bring one to every match if I wanted to do so. I just don't, well not very often unless I have a Daily or a Rift to kill by my own hand.

I think it’s a reflection on just how unhappy survivor players are. Instead of focusing on the penalty, the devs should figure out why one portion of their player base opts out of so many games. I know 8/10 games I play are miserable and i am not a newbie.

Right. :) Then why are you here? You must secretly like pain then? It is what revs your engine? How intimate of you to share with us. I'm not sure I now how to react. :) You are miserable 80% of your games and yet you keep playing, so you aren't REALLY miserable are you? It is your kick, that and coming here to moan and groan till the cows come home right? ~Troll 'y diver... you have been down too long in the midnight sea!~ What an odd fetish you have.

Me, if I was unhappy even half the time I would already have moved on. :)

  • Nobody is saying Survivors can't run. In fact, many of us don't even see the problem with the so-called "holding W." It is just a tactic. Me and mine refer to it as burying the Killer. One of us will run in a straight line to some dead area where there are no Generators and it will take forever for the Killer to get back from. Ideally I will reach some extreme corner. Survivors do what Survivors have to do, just like Killers do what they have to do. This tactic has been around forever. The only STUPID reason people are making a fuss about it now is a Streamer whined about it. I swear the hype people put on someone doing a video in the bedroom is ridiculous.

  • @aroell said:

Yes it’s camping and you know it. People need to stop justifying this

That's right but NOT how YOU intended. People need to stop justifying what they do, because as long as they are within the rules nothing requires justification. Camping, Tunneling, Slugging, Herding, the Mori, and so much more you don't even KNOW yet are all just tactics and perfectly acceptable to use. None of them require justification, nor should any Killer feel they have to meet certain criteria to use them. The only things any Player in Dead by Daylight needs to do to be a good sport are:

    1. Don't cheat, either by lag spike or hack.
    2. Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

That's it. Everything else is on the table and golden. No justification required. :) So look we "kind of" agreed on something. :)

  • @Crystopus said:

Yes. I understand there are strategies. Yes I understand there are times camping is an actual strategy.

But the majority of times this situation happens to me, it has no skill to it. I have killers tunneling me for no good reason. I get off the hook and killers wait for me. They don't even go for the other person, they just wait for me to get downed again.

And camping killers just camp me for no good reason either.

But there is no strategy for simply put, "Not getting camped." Especially in solo queue. Just like you said, I cannot control what the other players do. So therefore I cannot stop the killer from camping me, and I cannot make other survivors save me. That doesn't make me ungracious for getting camped. If I cannot control what the killer does, it is therefore not my fault for what the killer does, because it isn't in my control.

    Thank you.

They had a reason; you just don't know it. Chances are you are somewhat new. That means you are fighting against newbie Killers too for the most part. Like yourself, they just want to do well. They are desperate to secure at least one kill and don't know how to hunt people down yet. They will learn, just like you will, when certain tactics work best and when they are a bad call. We have all been where you are now. You get through it or you move on to another game. There will always be the odd match where you get tunneled or camped, but as you improve it happens less frequently. Once you accept that is part of the game, you will be less tilted by it. You are just paying you dues and learning the ropes. I'm not making light of your frustration; as I said before, I've been there too. But the alternative is worse, i.e. reducing Killers to bots.

This game is about Player agency, i.e. choices. Killers only have so many choices to make. Who to chase, when to chase, and when to defend (camp) are the biggest part of what they do. If you take that away from them, they are reduced to ritualistic Bots. Nobody would stay in that role long. Could you blame them? Part of what makes Dead by Daylight unique and great is the fact that you have cunning human minds at work in the chaos engine. Mind games are never entirely predictable. Sometimes you and your team have to break down a wall and get through a face camper; it can be done. It happens all the time. Players are always coming up with clever new ways to win and frustrate their opponents. This is a GOOD thing, not a bad. While I played Pac Man back in the day, I would be bored to tears by it now.

  • @Roadrunner said:

Why do people call it camping when I hook one of the last two survivors and wait at this hook. What do they expect me to do? Search the whole map for a single survivor and most likely let go of the third kill?

Camping is just a tactic, not a bad word. Sometimes it is the right tactic, and sometimes not. You do what you have to do in a given match, based on the scenario.
