Using your logic I should be playing clown and plague and nemesis with their buggy powers and lag spikes and liking it instead of saying no fix the bugs by outright refusing to play them(making sure the games don't crash). Haddonfield is broken for most killers so I refuse to play it right now.
Good job on your real life accomplishments even if you are condescending with others who have a different point of view. I would tell you about my life but my point was talking about a game map.
And my point is the map is of no consequence, but your quitting (and admitting it here) is because it is AGAINST the rules. You aren't disconnecting because of tech issues, you are just dropping the match on four other Players. Even suggesting it here is against the rules. Don't do that.

I'm sure it is no surprise that for me it is Scratched Mirror + Boyfriend's Memo. Spooky Myers or bust baby!

I kept getting the teleport creator mixed up with his attack. It was funny to say the least. I was a baby demogorgon😂
Practice the Shred. A lot of Survivors are conditioned for the ritualistic loops at the Shack and T Intersection Jungle Gyms. Once you get going with them change your claw position and prepare for the Shred and when they come out with the head start you instantly close it and hit them. I've taken down more Survivors going for the window or the pallet than I can count. Rote behaviors are hard to break, even though they KNOW you have the Shred.

Any advice on how to effectively play demogorgon? Not sure if it's me but he seems really weak.
Demogorgon, as others have already stated, is all about the Shred. With it you can shut down some otherwise safe loops, catch people off guard and minimize the time a pallet slows you down. Teleporting and being undetectable for a few seconds is also nice. :)

Borrowed Time is fine.

There are a lot of them I like, but my favorites, i.e. the ones I spend the most time with are Monto, Otz. and Stalky Boi.

I see a lot of complaining on here about how awful and difficult it is to play killer, how unfair the game is, yet most of you are killer mains. So why is that?
I played killer only for a long time and it was just too easy. After that initial learning of the game, I never had to get better or develop new skill so I switched to survivor. I also like the teamwork aspect. So, why do you continue to play killer if it’s so bad and makes you angry?
Trolly diver.... you've been down too long in the midnight sea!

It's ok everyone; I am not surprised that my vocal, serial complaining opponent is crying off (As Roland of Gilead would say). I've seen this before and I'm sure I will see it again. We all have. It just bears noting along with all the other of this person's so-called arguments. Not only is no responsibility for failures taken, this person threw down the gauntlet and then picked it right back up. Ok. No problem. We see how you are. :)

The killers objective is to kill, not make their opponents experience miserable. Stop using it as and excuse. If you ignore everyone else and go for just 1 person then you don’t know how to play the game. It’s not your objective to play in a bitchy way. It’s also not the survivors objective to flashlight click, teabag and be bad sports. Learn the game.
Actually the Killer can't make you happy or miserable. Only you can do that. Unreasonable and unrealistic expectations is the quickest route to frustration and unhappiness. Ditch those things. My skills aren't in question, although I will be happy to show them to you in a custom game. It is clear you could use some tutoring. Your skills, however, are the problem. You don't have any yet. The complaints and tone you take is something we have heard a thousand times (if not more) from those who have not really cut their teeth yet. You clearly don't know what you are doing and rather than take responsibility for YOUR part in why you are getting killed, you try to scapegoat other Players or the game. Yes, the Killer is out to get you. That is kind of the point. If you aren't up for that challenge, why the hell are you here?
I play both Survivor (Solo most of the time) and Killer. I face the same opponents and tactics that you do statistically. Why is it that I am not having your problems? Why is it thousands of people, even as you read this, are doing just fine. There are those who rise to the occasion and those that curse their lot in life. I'm really not trying to upset you or get a good burn in. I am trying to help you. I am telling you the same things someone once told me. Until you accept that you are the problem and only you can solve it, you aren't going to get very far. Nobody takes your little posts seriously except for other serial complainers. If you are here for a pity party, you are in the wrong place. There are games out there that are NOT PvP and games that will not frustrate you. If you aren't enjoying this one, go find your bliss. Why torture yourself? If you stay, it behooves you to actually take steps to get better at the game. Wasting your breath/text on me isn't going to do that.

Why should they not be punished?
I always love it when a new crop of Potatoes comes up and start frothing at the mouth about "PUNISH THEM!" For what, doing their job? :) The roles to be played are right there in the name, i.e. Killer and Survivor. It isn't the Killer's job to protect you, make it easy on you, or play in predictable, ritualistic way. It is YOUR job and that of your fellow Survivors to protect you. They can steal chases, take protection hits, bring the appropriate Perks, sabotage hooks, do shoulder rescues, and even trade hooks with you. The DEV have made it clear time and time again, that they are not going to punish Killers for doing their job anymore than they are going to punish Survivors for body blocking or Bully Squads. There are in-game solutions to your problems. There will be no Deus Ex Machina from the DEV. Take ownership of your problems and solve them yourself.
On that note, I would say that 90% the time you aren't even being Tunneled or Camped. I have found Survivors tend to identify it incorrectly and in a self serving way. Until you take responsibility for your failures, you will have a hard time improving at this game. Killers adapt to what Survivors do. This is a PvP game and predators react to prey. Survivors lead the dance, or have the power to do so. While Survivors are still new and inexperienced they tend toward selfish and/or clueless behaviors which makes the Killer's job easier. As they learn to take advantage of their power in teamwork and coordination, it is the Killer who is behind the eight ball.

It’s been happening every game and I’m so tired of it, plus I run them for a few gens and they tunnel me after.
The problem isn't the Killer. Where are your teammates? Why aren't they stealing chases, taking protection hits, trading hooks, and all that jazz? Where are the hook sabotages and shoulder rescues? It isn't the Killer's job to protect you; it is their job.
-
@DuskMascato said:
So since DBD fixes everything besides their bugs that kick people out out and make them lose points I’m now a rank 9, I was a 4. I’m getting killers who either camp or tunnel. Is this the new strategy for people who suck? You get no points for camping and tunneling so why do it, it’s not fun for either.
Tunneling is a tactic, not a strategy. There is nothing new about it. Sometimes it is the right tool for the Killer to reach for and sometimes it is not. It depends on the specifics of a given match.

I swear bhvr rewards you more for playing awful. I just had a round where I did 4 out of 5 gens, which is not my usual okay style. I escaped and de-pipped lol. My teammates who were getting hooked and downed got more points but did nothing for objective. Just something I noticed. Is it that bad for killer too?
You are just a bad Survivor and the game takes note. :) The truth is that the game expects you to be well-rounded. If you want to maximize your Pips and Blood Points you need to do a little of everything, i.e. chases, altruism, objectives, etc. If you aren't out there helping you team in all aspects, you will advance very slowly.

Hi, I just wanted to know if it is possible to be permanently banned for causing a survivor to be downed (not on purpose)? It happened 2 times but none of them were on purpose. One time I ran next to a pallet while another survivor ran behind me and also wanted to get to the pallet, which caused them to be downed because I blocked them while I also ran to the pallet in front of them. Then I ran too close to someone who was picking up a slug which caused the killer to find them. Today I ran into the way of a survivor who was being chased, 2 times. I was confused where the killer was and where I should run to not mess anything up (there was a wall next to us). I tried to move so the other survivor would have space but we just ended up always turning the same ways and bumping again and again. And well, ultimately I got hit instead of the other survivor, but later when we were the only ones left in the match, they refused to save me and stuff, so I suppose they got mad anyways. I heard that if people have a video proof then they can send it in, and you can very easily get permabanned for apparently helping the killer/griefing? Is that true?
If you are reported and video of provided that CLEARLY shows you are working with the Killer, it can incur a ban. How long that ban would be (permanent or not) I cannot say because I am not in the know. However, if what you say is true and these are just accidental sandbagging, you don't have anything to worry about. Everyone who plays this game has accidentally dropped a pallet and blocked another Survivor behind them while running from the Killer. Everyone here has accidentally lead the Killer onto other Survivors. It happens. People who are CLEARLY working with the Killer are hard to mistake, however, and video evidence is hard to deny.

Nope if BHVR were like Ubisoft then we would have been at DBD 4 by this time at least they don’t make sequels to milk every ounce of this game they try to focus on one to keep it alive
Preach. I'm very grateful I only had to buy the game once, and now and then I have the option to buy DLC but no requirement.
-
It is a very good Perk. I found it pairs well with Lucky Break too. If you do go down, the hook stops the Lucky Break timer, and when you are unhooked you are already half healed. Chances are you can get the rest healed quickly and still get some more use out of the Perk.
-
I'm looking forward to the event. I'm sure there will be some surprises thrown in too. I think the OP gets it right, i.e. go into it with the right mindset and you will have a good time. We make our own fun, just like we make our own misery. Realistic, reasonable expectations will never let you down. The fact of the matter is most of us here would be playing the game regardless, as I would hope we are here for love of the game. Anything extra they throw in that we didn't have to pay for is just icing on the cake. Good luck and have fun everyone! I'll see you in the fog.
-
I mean, I hate to rain on the pity party, but I don't really see what the big deal is here. Anniversary events where they give us free stuff are just that, freebies. We didn't pay for them. We certainly didn't earn them by being polite and nice to the company. In fact, we make Dudley from the Potterverse look absolutely charming by comparison on most days. I'd love the events to be big affairs. Who doesn't like free stuff? But there is a difference between hopes and entitlement. They don't owe us anything, so anything they give us is above and beyond. Truth be told I could care less about the events and would much rather they spend time on optimization, fixing bugs, finding a way to balance Solo Queue versus SWF, and all that jazz. There is only so much time in the day and coin in the coffers.
On any given day, there are real tragedies in the world and there are proper things which should cause outrage and demand a reaction. Not getting enough free goodies from my video game isn't one of them. These are 1st World Problems in that they aren't really problems at all. Video games are diversions, and luxury items at that. When I see the outrage and energy poured into Dead by Daylight I have to kind of scratch my head and ask myself, "where are all these people when it is about something that actually matters?" I find righteous indignation about video games to be kind of a sick joke, particularly when it is about something that you didn't even pay for.
When I was six my family went to my grandmother's for the holidays. I had this expectation of what gift I wanted, and I didn't get it. I threw a huge tantrum. I behaved like a spoiled, ungrateful brat. I'm ashamed of it to this day and I REMEMBER it still. What shames me more is I still remember it because of how angry and let down I was that I didn't get what I wanted. Intellectually, I know how bad I was. Happily I can reconcile that with the fact I was six years old. What is your excuse here, today?
-
No thanks you don't care about perspective? :) You think you are "standing for something important" by screaming about not getting as many freebies as you wanted? How about instead of me offering you some perspective, let me tell you how these complaints look/sound:

Midwich is one of my least favorite maps also. Finding gens is a bit difficult and I literally couldn't find anyone playing as killer, I use Michael Myers for the scares, and got a toxic treatment for being a new killer. A lot of maps are decent, its all a matter of chance when it comes to map selections and spawns.
Spooky Myers, i.e. Scratched Mirror + Boyfriend's Memo is one of the most potent and effective Killers on the Midwich Map. It is my preferred home turf advantage when I choose to put in an indoor offering. They key to it is understanding how to play that Myers build and knowing all the shortcuts and ways to never lose track of your quarry. You do not chase, you intercept and ambush. Does that make sense?
Regular Myers, however, is terrible on that map.

this is NOT fair! SWF!! Mikes are killing his game for the community!!!! Thanky ou good night!
You don't have to do anything, and no, you aren't the only person that makes this complaint. We all know there is a disparity (a vast one) between Solo Queue Players and SWF. That disparity is what makes this game very difficult to balance and probably creates most of the issues facing us that are not of a technical standpoint. We are aware of it. The DEV are aware of it. One would assume they are always trying to think of something. Many of us (myself included) have given suggestions on how to mitigate the problem and create an equitable balance that does not ruin the option of playing with one's friends. I'm sure, in time, the DEV will do something about it.
In the meantime, you will just have to get better. I fight SWF all the time and at my current Rank (and I'm sure my Skill based rating with my favorite Killer) my opponents are usually seasoned sharks. We rise to the challenge or we cry off. Those are your options, stark as they may be. This is the realm we live in now. I assure you that you don't need to keep posting about it. We all know and someone else will if you don't.

When I first started playing this game it was a scary poorly lit game-which made the horror more intense- where you could actually hide from the killer. Now you can be spotted from anywhere on the map because it’s broad daylight and the colors look like the game made a baby with Cartoon Network so I’m just wondering why this game sucks now?
For your information, it is harder for the Killers to spot you on those broad daylight maps due to the ample LOS blocking terrain and the extreme hues and color schemes. What I would suggest is that your skills have stagnated while others have improved; this has led to you losing more. We all hit the wall from time to time. Break out of your comfort zone and learn to do something OTHER than stealth. That only carries you so far. You have to be able to Loop, rely on your teammates, and them rely on you. And for the record, there are still plenty of dark, poorly lit maps. :)

bt is also change
like high ping and bugs aren’t enough
listening to Otz as the most powerful streamer killer in Dbd is like letting AI run the earth and dominate it
Dbd now is unbearable frustrating
please consider main survivors streamers opinions too
its hard to play fair game when only main killer is the only side devs listen to
I'm afraid your logic is faulty. Otz is just one of thousands that complained about DS and the other things. They DEV have proven time and time again that they don't give the Streamers anymore weight than they do the rest of us. It is merely YOU who are assigning that authority to the guy, not them. The DEV go by their own internal metrics first and our yammering last.

The meat plant needs to be reverted, every pallet has no gameplay for the killer and there is about 7000 breakable walls everywhere. How this map got approved is genuinely concerning. Enough said.
I find the current incarnation of Gideon entirely acceptable. Is it as favorable to the Killer as the last one? No. The previous incarnation was a slaughterhouse. That was unacceptable. For a victory to be worth anything the match has to be actually in contention. The current map is fine.

So rising to the challenge is telling the developers yeah keep haddonfield the same and broken for most killers? I would rather run from it and help the community as a whole new killers by dodging it as a protest...helps new killers when they finally change it
It isn't about the DEV. It is about self respect. I wasn't raised to be a quitter. I don't think you become good at anything if you cry off at adversity. I think you become the best by putting your head down and charging into it, learning what you can from the victories and the defeats. You aren't helping the community by quitting games. You are just being selfish and sabotaging the fun of other Players, ruining their matches. And for that matter, do you think I am impressed by people who protest to get their way on a luxury item, diversion like a video game? Are you SERIOUS? I chain myself to old growth forest to keep Redwoods from being cut down. I've been pepper-sprayed by the KKK, and would proudly do it again (and yes it sucks to be pepper sprayed... do not try this at home). Do you honestly think I have respect for people who whine and think they are standing up to the MAN because they didn't get their way on a fictional video game map?

Oh my gosh; would you guys like some cheese with your whine? Seriously, if people spent just 10% of the effort they do playing the game and practicing that they do over here whining, they wouldn't have any issues. Do any of you play haddonfield right now? My game dcs everytime right now 😉 that and last minute key changes...you want a quick game and I am helping you achieve that(to bad about other survivors using offerings).
I play every map I pull because it is cowardly to disconnect. It is like admitting to oneself that you are a loser and have to cherry pick. I watched my gal play the other day. She and I compete with Myers; it is a friendly competition. She put in a map offering and so did the Survivors. When the Survivors saw that there was a 50% chance they might not get their map, one of them disconnected and cancelled the match during loading. Due to the current situation, all of them (disconnector too) were in the end game chatter. My gal the called disconnector a coward; it turns out they were a SWF and it was a mutual call. They said calling them cowards was unfair and she could see through walls. They could now see she had a Spooky Myers build. My gal made me proud and said the following, "I was going to play your map." That was all she had to say.
There are two kinds of people in the world, only two. There are those that rise to challenges and those that run from them. Which one do you want to be?

Killers love to win overall, even the types of people who play killer specifically play killer cause. they. like. to. win.
That being said, Dead by Daylight has been very biased towards making Killers far to powerful. Within the year+ of playing, I'd flip flop between rank 3-8, which took plenty of time and effort, given I loved the gameplay overall. It was addicting fun, I'd spend about $60 for packs a month! That was until the new rank, pip, and blood points system came out.
I don't care if my luck or odds are bad every few matches if I clearly make dumb choices in that very moment; I can live with that, but I like to believe I'm not an amateur. That being said, ever since each past 2-3 or so updates I've noticed not only have hit boxes been fixed fairly enough, but Killers have been buffed when they already needed being nerfed. Nor has DBD tried to fix game mechanics to avoid toxic Killers tunneling, face camping, and griefing/exploiting to keep their title of an unfair, but high rank killer.
Without survivors, there isn't a game for Killers to enjoy. And although I understand this is a competitive game, it's also one people log onto to have fun and have a laugh over, even if we are the one's being the idiot and getting just s l a u g h t e r e d. Thing is, it's no longer enjoyable with the amounts of toxic Killers that still don't get punished for unfair game play. Constantly I hear, "This game is gonna take reports seriously." It never does. That being said, I don't think this game is listening to the high demands, which overall gonna make a high amount of gamers leave it altogether if this isn't resolved.
Wrapping this up, I'm over it. A once enjoyable game- is corrupted. I only know the sore loser Killers will continue to defend their strong builds, perks, and extra abilities to continue being these toxic winners, throwing fits to make the gameplay more of an advantage for them. Overall, I'm done with this childish, toxic fan base who prioritize a title on a game, than actual fair game play, which I personally have tried hard to stay consistently while playing DBD.
Long story short, and what my friends and I say all the time which has made multiple large discord servers quit this game,
"This game is broken."
When red, purple, and green ranks lose every single match 15 times over? You know the Killers are far too powerful in the game mechanics. (Specifcally the Nemisis, but there's many others that need nerfing) Which honestly, has pushed me to quit until I hear they ACTUALLY, fix this issue.
Happy Trails? All things end and come to dust. Someday, I too will grow bored of this game and move on to the next big thing. The difference between you and I is that on that day I won't make a special trip here to dramatically announce it, nor give a "goodbye cruel DbD" speech. I think it is good that you are moving on. If you are spending $60.00 a month on this game, you are spending too much. I would worry about you. I think that is about how much I've spent TOTAL. The difference between you and I, educated guess, is that you are one of those people who must have EVERYTHING, a collector. I'm just here to play the game.
I'm not going to go into your rant, i.e. the reasons you say you are leaving because they are silly. Well, what I should say is they are silly to me, but important to you. And thus, you do you. Seek your bliss. Find something to spend that cash on monthly that gives you a better, personal return. Just remember that wherever you go, there you are. I suspect you will find that your troubles will travel with you.

You make a good point. Me and you as the balancing team then? Although I am a killer main and would probably ruin the balance in favour of my own selfish whims.
I feel just like Galadriel now, "In place of a dark lord you would have a queen. Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn. Treacherous as the Sea. Stronger than the foundations of the Earth." While I certainly have my opinions on balance, particularly as how to approach and mitigate the SWF issue, I don't think I have any secret wisdom. I have opinions, just like everyone else. I look at it this way:
Who has a greater vested interest in maintaining a rough balance for the game, us (the Players) or the DEV? For us this game is just a diversion, a luxury item. For them it is their bread and butter. It puts food on the table, pays for their children's College fund, keeps the lights on and all that jazz. When it comes right down to it, I have to assume based on that FACT that they are far more interest in making this work than ALL OF US combined. Who has more access to information about the game, us (the Players) or the DEV? We only see what we want to see and what gets ranted here day in and day out. We have a Funhouse perspective with images twisted and distorted. We lie best when we lie to ourselves. They see the big data, everything behind the curtains as well as in front of it. They know what is coming down the road in the near future too. So again, I have to assume based on these FACTS that the DEV are in a better place than us. Finally, I have to take the game's track record into account. It is successful. People have been predicting its death since the year it came out and it has only grown, and slowly but surely improved (or at least adapted to an evolving market).
So, while the DEV do NOT do everything I like, and they do make mistakes, I suspect they probably are better equipped for this job than we. In fact, I'd bet total chaos would ensue if they adopted anything other than the annoying, glacial pace they normally work within. I also think the DEV do take our feedback into account. They just don't tell us what they use and what they don't. I suspect they get so much feedback (and often contradictory) that no matter what of ours they use, some of us will be angry and assume they didn't use any. Our feedback is part of their metrics, but you have to remember how often we ourselves disagree with one another. They can't win for losing when it comes to saying what they take from us and what they don't. I predicted and requested Zombies for the Resident Evil chapter. I'd LOVE to think I helped, but I am not that arrogant. That call had to have been made and coded long before I even opened my mouth. Do you see where I'm going with that?
There are things I've suggested in regards to unlocking a 5th Perk for Killers whenever they face a SWF of 3+ to balance the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms). This method wouldn't hit Solo, only SWF. Should they ever implement this suggestion, I will happily get to "think" that I helped. It might even be true, but I'll never know for certain. They won't give me a gold star or anything. We have to accept that our place as Players is just that. We are here to play the game. We can chatter all we want, but in the end, this is THEIR world, we just play there.

Okay sorry but now it's just annoying. After all these bugs since the updates, all these posts here the devs are still quiet.....
They don't learn from the past and it shows that this game is doomed. Big problems are still getting ignored, feedback is getting ignored, no informations for us. The only thing we get are more and more bugs, errors, performance issues and bad chapters to press money out of us.
Why would they talk to us anymore than they absolutely have to? Have you "met" us? I wouldn't talk to us either. :) As a general rule, talking to us has become a lose/lose proposition. When they give us a heads up we complain and demand changes, and then are even angrier if they don't listen to us. If they just release or do things and then wait, they get the same complaints, but all in one round. Do you see where I'm going with that? This so-called community has made it pointless to be transparent. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The only difference is the damned if they don't is a shorter cycle. They opt for the path of least irritation.

They need a separate group of players to help with balancing. You do not need to be any good at the game to be a Fog Whisperer so they should not be the people doing it.
Seasoned Non-Fog whisperers who understand and care about the game like Scott Jund and True Talent would would be much better choices for balancing. (I probably wouldn't put them in the same room together though.)
I'm not so sure about this either. The people you mention have their OWN best interests at heart. They WORK for a living, and the job they do isn't really understanding or caring about the game. Their job depends on viewership, subscriptions, likes, and/or donations. Those things don't come from smooth sailing and balanced games. Those things come from DRAMA. If the game were balanced and smooth sailing, what the HECK would Scott talk about? Seriously? He is like Peter Griffin's "What Grinds My Gears" for Dead by Daylight:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT511CZjePAIf he wasn't complaining about something or suggesting changes, he would have nothing to talk about. There are many media personalities that make their bread and butter out of drama, complaints, and telling you what is wrong with the world. I don't begrudge them that, but you have to remember that they have ulterior motives.

There is an old saying, "there is no such thing as bad press (or publicity)." Behavior realized fairly early that there are lots of Streamers out there and some of them reach a large audience. These entertainers are free publicity. Whether they are talking smack about the game or talking it up, they are still talking about it. Streamers that complain, but still play, are sending a clear message. THIS GAME IS FUN ENOUGH THAT I'M STILL PLAYING! It doesn't matter what their mouths say, their actions speak far louder than words. Besides, most people who play video games don't really give complaints that much weight. We know/assume everyone complains about every video game, because that is just how things are in fact.
So if you know that certain Streamers are helping steer more and more people into your fold, why wouldn't you give them a cool title? You don't pay them but titles give some manner of control. The Streamers get some an air of authority over their competitors, and in turn the company can now kind of limit the things they say or do (to a degree). They can use these streamers for promotions and codes and all sorts of things. Not to sound cynical, but all the drama we see can be simply manufactured (at least some of it) simply to drive interest. Think about all the celebrities that engineer their own scandals in Hollywood.
The moral of the story, if there is one, is watch Streamers that entertain you and/or educate you. Don't assign ANY weight to anything they say or do that you can't personally verify with evidence and/or critical thinking skills. Having a platform doesn't mean your opinions have any greater validity. It might, but the two do not automatically equate. The company uses Fog Whisperers for advertising, free advertising. They have their own testing and ideas about how the game should work and at what speed changes should take place. So no, they don't listen to the Fog Whisperers anymore than they do the rest of us.

What chase time would you consider to not quite be a killer victory, but not a survivor victory?
What do you think is the sweet spot?
There is lots of good feedback in this thread, but I'll add my own. For me, personally, chase time depends a lot on how many Survivors are left, i.e. how much pressure I have to maintain. At the start of the match, when I have to keep up Generator pressure, I don't like bogging down in a chase. I prefer to chase no more than 15-20 seconds, and certainly no longer than 30 in extenuating circumstances. In general, if I can't close the deal in 15-20 seconds the conditions aren't favorable and I'm getting sucked into something that is going to lose me Generators.
As Survivors are removed from the game I have the luxury of more time. How many Generators are left also is a factor (although far less so). Consider how relaxed you are as a Killer when there are only two Survivors left and they still have 3+ Generators to do. That is your game to lose. You really can chase as long as you feel necessary. The point I'm trying to make is that chases aren't really an exact science, so much as a sweet spot that you get a "feel" for over time. You learn to spot the better Loopers and just "know" if your current chase is off to a bad start.
You spot a good Looper (you have already confirmed this from a previous chase) and they are lined up in several strong tiles. They have a decent head start. Is there any point in chasing them? Isn't it more prudent to go for weaker game or continue patrols and wait till you catch that person in a weaker position? In short, some things are losing propositions. Sometimes I will start the chase in case they make a mistake. I will know within 15 seconds at most if they will. If they don't, I break it off immediately. More often than not, I can see the outcome of that chase in my mind's eye and don't even start it.
Your Killer also factors in. Some Killers are so fast with such high map mobility that they CAN be cavalier with chases. I don't play those, so you have to take my advice in with a grain of salt. I play Myers and Trapper the most. This means my margin for error in judgement is very small. Killers like Spirit, Nurse, the new, God-like Wraith, and teleporters can go out on a limb and still get back to those Generators so fast that it really wasn't a risk. Remember when I said it is like "feeling" for the sweet spot? Dead by Daylight is a chaos engine with a lot of different variables you have to take into account at all times. Terrain, for example, is a huge factor. If you get a map filled with annoying unsafe and safe little piles of terrain and LOS blocking walls, you will be traveling twice as far to get where you want to go. If you are on an open map, where you can cut through the middle, you can be across a huge map very quickly.
I just threw a lot of information at you, but that was just to give you perspective. The key takeaway you should have is that your chase time should not be any longer than necessary based on the factors of the specific match. A chase that doesn't end with a hit at the very least is damaging. Time is the most precious resource in the game.

showing a survivor that you're giving them the hatch then they walk up to you thinking that there getting the hatch but then you down them and hook them.
I did that in a recent game and an entire team reported me for it.
so I don't get banned can someone please say if it is or not
No, you will not be banned for being a bad mannered jerk. There are things you do in the game that have a game purpose, and there are jerkwad things you do in the game which only have the purpose of upsetting the PLAYER, i.e. breaking the 4th wall. Don't do these things. Do what you have to do to win your matches, but don't do things just to screw with people after you have already won.

Just bought nemesis. Naturally got obliterated in my first game. Certainly will make newcomers wanna stay. Why is there no training mode where you can play with bots? Why are we forced to lose pips each time we buy a new killer? Mobile has a training mode and it's free for god's sake
There is a training mode. It is called CUSTOM GAME. You get together with some of your friends, or you get together with some people you contact here or on Discord or whatever communication medium you prefer and play the games in a way where you can test things out, explore the maps, and see how things work. Technically you can create a custom game with just ONE other person for you to practice things. I'm sure, if you try you can get the people you need. Hit the books!

This was originally a different topic and i posted it here by mistake. I tried deleting it but there seems to be no way. If there is can someone please tell me how? And if there isn't you should make one
Just edit it to make it relevant to where you did post it. :) Same effect. You remove the original content.

Tunneling itself should be a crime. People on the internet do whatever they want. Turn of your chat if it bothers you so much when someone messages you.
Aren't you just a bundle of obnoxious lack of wit. :)

I just wanted to play a game of Nemesis and instead I have to deal with this self-righteous arrogant #########.
I didn't even tunnel, he got grabbed off of an unhook and missed his DS, then DC'd.

just for the record, yes, DDoS'ing is illegal.
This is why I'm not playing until the DC penalties are back. :)

Why do you spend time playing this game? Have you actually thought about how much lifetime you have spent running, killing, hooking, repairing, healing, saving, escaping, winning, losing, feeling nothingness, feeling arrogance, feeling anger, feeling relief. Is it pleasant?
What's so pleasant about it? Do you feel satisfied when you fulfill the in-game goals while can't carry the weight of real life requirements? Do you need any sort of fulfillment? Emotional one? Is the life dull? Social one? Is the life lonely? Do you want to feel special at least somewhere? Do you want people to notice you, be happy around you, be angry because of you? Do you wish being meaningful in someone else's life? Do you wish to be meaningful?
Is it why you play this game for too much? Do you know why do you play? Do you even enjoy the time you spend on it? Ten hours, hundreds, thousand hours. Is it addiction? What lacks out there that you need it in this illusion of reality?
...
Do you even want to answer this?
A better question is why did you even waste the few minutes it took you to ask this foolish question. People play games because they want to play them. They have no more point than the diversion. Your silly questions, however, have no point whatsoever.

my team was the problem. but If NOED wasn't a thing I would have made it out that door.
This is the WRONG attitude to take. There is no "I" in team. You can't blame it all on them. You were there. Even when I've been with terrible Players I still managed, by myself, to get a lot done. Your desire to throw your team under the bus rather than take ownership tells me you were just as responsible (if not more). NOED isn't the problem; you are.

GREAT GAME
Yes, so you are full of it. :) Nice try Troll. DC penalty, unfortunately, is currently off.

Just stop playing until they come back on; that is what I'm doing. My time is too valuable to waste in a Queue only to have the match ruined by some losers who don't like the match or the Killer. I'm trying out a couple of other games in the meantime. Who knows, I might find my new favorite diversion.

Seriously? This is a thing? The only time I notice charms is if the Survivor wears them on the back position and they are brightly colored. Even then, I'm only going to notice it if they are trying to blend in and hide. This is why I never wear one except in the front position. Most people squat and face into a corner and/or terrain with their back out. If you are wearing dark, or appropriately colored clothing, you blend in. The charm sticks out in that case. That is why I've been wearing that brightly colored target in the front position for the month.
I'm not letting anyone live, nor am I killing them, over a charm. I don't care who you are in the real world. I don't care about your age, gender, political affiliation, sexual preferences, religious denomination, or even if you are the kind of person who takes your shoes AND socks off on a commercial airliner. Inside the Entity's realm you are just a Survivor or a Killer and are treated as such. One of the main reasons I wasn't excited about the inclusion of identity politics inside the game is precisely this situation. There are weirdos out there who seem to care, whereas I don't. Even if I met you in the real world I would not care about these things.
