Lemme explain if you can only mori on second hook moris become uselsss especially on pyramid head where he his special mori for second hook state. If you die on third hook state what the ######### is the point of moris. Bhvr litterally buffed flashlights and nerfed moris and didn't do a thing to the keys god damn this game is way too much survivor sided. ALSO WHY IS BHVR LISTENING TO THE ENTITLED SURIVVIORS THEY ARE JUST TORTURING US POOR KILLER MAINS.

Keys have never been anywhere near the same level of game breaking that ebony moris were. You live in an alternate reality if you think they're comparable. If you don't like playing killer anymore, stop playing the game. Or play survivor. If it's not fun for you, stop playing.

  • @SasukeKun said:

i do not like that they changed mori's again, AGAIN. with all the survivor perks they should just make it so after they get unhooked once they can no longer be killed for the rest of the trial. Devs always just listen to complaining survivors who suck at the game.

@Peanits ruining the killer experience with every patch. Man i was excited about that patch notes list until i saw that addition. Next they gonna take Mori's out completely cuz survivors dont wanna die in dead by daylight.

I personally wanted different Mori's for the different killers

    LMAO

Ebony moris were game breaking, plain and simple. But yeah, survivors are the ones who suck.

So in the 1v4 asymmetrical game not only does the 1s special offering that is only found every now and then in late game bloodwebs and not at all ingame through chests and luck, but also it is effectively somewhere between useless to a waste of time, With keys on the other hand even if they are nerfed to close the hatch behind the one person escaping, they are still

    An early escape

A free 2 man escape at 3 gens done because the hatch opens for the last survivor

Able to be found in chests and have perks that increase the likely hood of finding them in chests

Able to have a team of 4 bring them in with no actual way to challenge them now other than throw your build into the trash for franklins and hope one or more isn't immersed the entire game, and if 3 or more gens get done by 4 people (childsplay) late game is just going to become a bunch of immersed survivors looking for their easy escape

Literally the only nerf you could do with keys that could be on par with moris would be this

Keys now only open the hatch if you are the last survivor

But knowing the devs this is highly unlikely so for a while we get to deal with keys running rampant, which is why the community was asking for both at the same time not one or the other

Keys have never been better than ebony moris.

What’s the word on asking other survivors ranks in the lobby? Is it ok? Bad etiquette?

Seems like behavior are quietly testing out their new matchmaking system again as I’m getting a lot of 17-19 rank team mates, I’m rank 4 and it’s putting me against rank 1 killers.

In my opinion it generally makes for a bad experience for survivors and killer.

Back when there was a bug and we could see each other's ranks in the lobbies, I loved it. I have no desire to play with a level 17 Claudette who is going to do nothing the entire game. Then again that's not much different from most red rank Claudias, so....

This is just so confusing everyone acts like there's always a swf im a solo player and all I see is people always justifying camping and acting like solo player can do anything about it and also that if a survivor team is good they are swf why do people act like swf has a steady input of info. Whenever I played in a swf the most wed communicate is whos getting chased, if someone need helps getting away from a tunneler and rescues sometimes the communication wasn't even that good but I rarely play swf. Do I have to continuously play swf to enjoy the game it's so confusing it's like nobody thinks about the solo players at all. Literally I don't want to have to depend on other teammates skills and communication whenever I want to have a fun or casula match. Also before anyone comments I don't use ds.

I agree. It seems like killers are constantly screaming about SWFs and how they're unfair for killers. I've had seven friends try this game and they all quit because match making so heavily favored the killer, most games we couldn't even repair three gens. No one seems to mention that though. I play solo and it's pretty miserable a lot of times, especially with the Tome challenges now. Your entire team is only focused on getting their challenge done, screw actually playing the game. I have more than 1000 hours in this game and probably 925 are solo. I'd love to know how many people actually play SWF, and how many of those the survivors all have a similar skill. Killers seem to make the most noise on the forum complaining about how unfair SWFs are though.

Thoughts at the bottom if that’s all you’re here for.

Link to my survivor games post, the one I did previous to this one, very different results: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/207873/results-of-my-23-survivor-games-today/p1

Currently have screenshots I need to edit to block out names. I will probably do that when I wake up. Been a long day/night/morning, been awake for 24 hours haha. Edit: Added Screenshots as a zipped folder for people who want to see them.

Please excuse if anything looks or sounds weird, I’m writing this while sleepy.

Quick Data (unless I messed something up):

    • Overall average kills: 3.25
    • Overall average hooks: 8.68
    • Ghostface Average kills:3.33
    • Ghostface Average hooks: 8.83
    • Demo average kills: 3.6
    • Demo average hooks: 10.2
    • Legion average kills: 2.8
    • Legion Average hooks: 7

    Info and intro:

Did not have great add-ons at the time for GF and not as many perks to work with as I would have liked, this experiment came right in the middle of my prestige for my killers (ouch). So if my build are not the best please be understanding and bear with me. I am noticing I’m getting a lot more variation in survivor ranks compared to when I was playing survivor, could be more SWF groups or just matchmaking issues or just luck. Also noticing I’m having a lot more to say on the killer side matches, makes sense since I am my whole side.

Started at rank 8 (haven’t been playing a lot of DBD lately) ended up at rank 4 before I called it. Playing on console with crossplay on if that matters to anyone. I only used BP offerings in my offering slot if anything at all. Played like I normally do, not intentionally tunneling or camping or anything, so I’m playing  the “fun” way. Doesn’t mean I won’t prioritize by hooks down if multiple survivors are in front of me mind you.

    Builds and Notes:

Ghostface Build: Surveillance (tier 1), Ruin (3), Enduring (2) Corrupt (3).

Note: Had Nurses instead of Ruin in my first game, did not help much, swapped out immediately. I know Nurses can be good on GF, it just doesn’t fit into my playstyle, or maybe I just had a bad game, or both. Hard to tell.

Demo Build: Pop (3), BBQ (3), Surveillance (3), Corrupt (2).

Note: Yes I’m playing Demo on console, took a lot of practice to play him on controller. Not sure if I want both BBQ and Surveillance in this build, part of me feels like it’s overkill on tracking and it could be taken up by something better. But Surveillance is working well for me and is one of my favorite off-meta perks.

    Legion build: Enduring (1/2), Surge (3)/Pop (1), M&A (1), Surveillance (3)

Note: Again, bad timing for this test personally, trying to make do with the perks I have. Traded surge for Pop as soon as I got it. Really wish I had better perks unlocked but luck was not on my side in the bloodweb. Would replace surveillance in this build probably (I know blasphemy), potentially enduring as well. Got enduring 2 after my 4th game.

    Format: Map

Killer - kills- hooks - gens completed - survivor ranks (exact numbers will be in the screenshots, wanted to trim as much time as possible to get as many games in as I could. Hope that's ok with you guys)

    Notes and match specifics

    The Matches:

    1) Temple of Purgation

    Ghostface - 1k - 3 hooks - all gens done - 3 purple 1 red

Didn't tunnel the guy out, he got to struggle on his first hook. Also my warmup game, so I didn’t perform as well as normal.

    2) Torment Creek

    Ghostface - 3k hatch escape - 9 hooks - 3 gens left-  1 purple 1 red1 green 1 yellow

Ruin got broken immediately, was out in the open near a gen (have screen shot if interested). Got some good mind games in, no particularly strong loops got used outside the main building. Was potentially a SWF group, had some coordinated plays that you don’t usually see in random matches.

    3) Midwich (Surv Offering)

    Ghostface - 4k - 10 hooks - 2 gens left - 1 green 1 yellow 2 purple

Ruin lasted a long while and got broken with 4 gens left, got a good spot. Also got a lot of early hits due to stealth and having ears (lol). Could see running down halls as an issue as that took a while, but the survivors didn’t really take advantage of it. They mostly ran into rooms for pallets which didn’t work out for them too well. Only had to chase through the hallway twice that match. On a side note I got a great jump scare on a Feng with a breakable wall, she was right in front of it on a gen and I was in shroud :)

    4) Midwich (Surv Offering)

    Ghostface - 4k - 11 hooks - 4 gens left - 2 red 2 green

Ruin lasted the whole game. Early hits as before. Downs were pretty frequent. There were a lot more times where I had to just let survivors go because they were all the way across the hall than last game, however I did stalk them while they ran, I’m assuming I was outside reveal range. Midwitch is working with and against me on Ghostface, stealth is a big boon and ruin gets a lot more value both for totem spots and for how long it takes to get around if they leave a gen, but of course hallways.

    5) Badham

    Ghostface - 4k - 11 hooks - 3 gens left - 2 red 2 brown

Ruin lasted the whole game. 1 of the survivors let go on struggle because they gave up with 4 gens left. This better be a SWF because those ranks are wild. Got the infinite shack setup but the survivors clearly didn’t know about it or didn’t use it.

    6) Coal Tower

    Demogorgon - 4k - 11 hooks - 2 gens left - 2 purple 1 red 1 green

    Survivors 3 gened themselves.

    7) Ironworks of Misery

    Demogorgon - 4k - 9 hooks - 2 gens left - 2 purples 1 green 1 red

Broke the god wall in the upstairs area as soon as I stepped foot into the building while setting up portals. Of course the first two survivors I chased both bolted up there asap. Not liking having setup on top of setup so I don’t auto lose a chase later, it takes a long while to get up there as well, that’s free gen time.

    8) Ormond (Surv Offering)

    Demogorgon - 4k - 11 hooks - 2 purples 1 yellow 1 red - 2 gens left

Was most likely SWF. 3 toolboxes brought in, 1 with a BNP and Ormond offering? Yeah probably. Got some good mind games in. Missed one shred in particular because the visual effect of charging it made me lose frames :(

    8.3.1415) Food Break

    Pizza - 3 slices - Cheese

Reheated leftovers from earlier today in the oven. Also a little tired, went to lay down for a bit. Came back when I had more energy.

    9) Groaning Storehouse

    Demogorgon - 3k hatch escape - 9 hooks - 2 gens left - 2 purple 1 green 1 red

Broke main building god wall asap and thankfully didn’t get a crazy setup in the main building. Nothing else of note really.

    10) Ormond

    Demogorgon - 3k gate escape - 11 hooks - 2 gens left - 2 reds 1 green 1 yellow

Either 3 man SWF or very altruistic aggressive survivors. Had very far gate spawns.

    11) Coal tower

    Legion - 1k - 4 hooks - Gates opened

4 man OoO red rank bully squad, also got robbed of like 8 - 10 window hits in that game by auto aim turning me into a wall or hitting the middle of the window (and by extension the survivor) but the game saying I hit hard air. Lots of safe structures/loops/pallets as well, especially against Mr.Leg Legion. Very frustrating match. Killed the object user, so mission complete. Hoping it was just a very unlucky match.

    12) Shelter woods

    Legion - 4k - 10 hooks - 2 reds 1 green 1 purple - 1 gen left

Got robbed of my second hit in my first chase which allowed it to go on for 2 gens to pop, really clutched this one by forcing a 3 gen. Long and annoying match. Wonder if it’s a map thing or just an unlucky streak causing the swings to be funky. Survivors weren’t trying to mindgame much, just running straight from tile to tile. BL definitely would’ve helped there, they kinda just got to do it for free.

    13) Torment Creek

    Legion- 3k 1 gate escape - 8-9 hooks - 4 purple - 2 gens left

Got a very quick down on my first chase by body blocking a pallet with the frenzy fatigue. Even so it appears all 3 of the other survivors spawned on top of a gen and finished it at around the same time. Really missing corrupt. Got 2 people in the basement at one point since Claudette was hiding in a locker while I had KI, one of the survivors died on struggle hook. First game with pop on. Again, seeing a lot more holding W.

    14) Pale Rose

    Legion - 4k - 7 hooks - 3 purple 1 red - 5 gens left

Claudette and Dwight suicided on first hook. Claudette because she got hooked in the basement as the first down, Dwight I’m guessing gave up after that. Normally I would give the hatch in this situation but I really didn’t want to look for the hatch in the swamp for who knows how long, especially with the time crunch. Just hooked and moved on to the next game.

    15) Badham

    Legion - 2k 2 hatch escapes with key - 6 hooks - 1 gen left - 1 red 4 purples

Meg DC’d because she got slugged. Had 3-4 pairs of pallets pretty much 10 feet from each other and the shack was in between 2 of the pairs. Lot of safe pallets as well. With 2 long walls on both sides that the survivor could see over (cinder blocks). Two of them got out through the hatch and left the last one to die. Even down a player, not an easy game, might have just been bad map RNG. Also of course you know, keys. Definitely feeling BL loss on Mr.Legion. Seemed like a SWF, people were leaving way before I thought they should have known I was coming and 2 escaped through the hatch. Edit: Realized I forgot to mention the car and house tile with the 2 pallets and the 2 upstairs vault (not the one with the basement the one with the car in front of the house) was also at one end of the pallet train that was connected to shack in this game. Laying down and that setup still haunts me lol

    16) Chapel

    Ghostface - 4k - 9-10 hooks - gens done, gates not opened - 3 reds 1 green

Ruin found immediately, I went straight over to it (saw the spawn and had a feeling) and 2 survivors were on it, must have spawned very close and was not hidden well at all. Very coordinated group, probably a 4 man. Not a lot of LOS breakers for stealth, very open setup, got broken out of shroud very frequently. Additionally the few LOS blockers that were around were set up in such a way you could not stalk the gens from the main building. The main building had 3 vaults, 2 of them being safe on the upper floor, and I believe 2-3 vaults on the lower floor with at least 1 being safe. Basically had to give up chase if they went anywhere near the main building and you didn’t land a hit before their first vault. BL needed to chase there I believe. Pallets themselves weren’t too crazy thankfully, but there were still safe ones here and there. Close match. Wanted to do one more to make up for the warmup match.

    Thoughts:

Well this was definitely different than my survivor games. Would have liked to do more but the tiredness just hit me really hard and there’s only about an hour left of the test as well at the time of writing this. Legion was definitely hit the hardest out of the 3 I tried. Ghostface had much less of a loss, but it was still noticeable in certain situations. Demo was pretty much exactly the same. Of course I also feel like I got a little more lucky with Ghostface and way less lucky with Legion as well, so that could play into it as well.

I’m a little mixed right now. My survivor test was pretty crazy, there were so many escapes. My killer test however didn’t show much of a difference except on Legion and sometimes GF. However the maps and RNG played a large as well. I also would have liked to play a few more games but there just wasn’t enough time in my life at this moment.

I think the best course of action would be to just fix the maps and the RNG since that’s future proof, but we know that’s not happening soon, even the new maps still have some issues, albeit they are better. Alternatively we could buff the killers that seem to need BL like Legion and such, but that’s also probably not happening.

So in terms of BL I think what we should do is what a lot of people are suggesting and just keep BL 1, potentially 2 maybe, and get rid of 3. I’m only really hesitant about removing BL 2 because of things like that Chapel setup or that one Badham pallet school with a shack in the middle of everything. I don't think the game is ready for complete removal just yet unless the devs have something else in mind.

Really wish I could do more games or was able to get on earlier :/ But it is what it is.

Look forward to hearing from anyone about their experiences. Hopefully we hear from the devs sooner rather than later. See you guys later in the day if anyone bothers to look at this haha.

Is this saying you're averaging 3.25 kills a game without bloodlust but you still think bloodlust should be in the game, at least in some capacity? Not snark, just making sure I understand.

I do wonder how much of the toxic survivor gameplay gets more generated by many of the survivor mains that stream that focus on Toxic play. Every Night, there are multiple Streamers that play 6 to 8 hours with friends and just dunk on killer 95% of the night. It is a complete stomping of killer after killer and sometimes thousands of people watch and are greatly entertained as they 4 person escape game after game and bully the killer every game. then if a killer manages to kill 1 or 2 of them, they simply insult them in chat and call the killer toxic for (for breaking up a 5 hour toxic run)

I guess all I'm rambling about as long as people love to watch killers get crushed in streams and it generates thousands of views and people into the game, I don't expect this game to ever change.

Sure, some of the top streamers with 5,000 hours that play killer can crush Survivors all day for some sort of streamer balance, but its always brutal/basic games, and they manage to create huge crowds without having to be go down such toxic paths.

People can play the game however they want. I watch survivors because I play survivor and I want to learn. I'm not watching because I want to see killers humiliated. I think you might be projecting your own feelings here. Maybe take a break from the game and these toxic streamers if it's such a problem.

Also, I see far more survivor streamers give free hooks and kills to killers than I ever see killers give free escapes to survivors they go against.

As a killer main its like I have a never-ending rotation of prey to hunt! A constantly rotating buffet of people to hunt! The thrill of the chase excites me! The hook at the end is just validation! The SMACK sometimes I legit find myself licking my lips at the computer in anticipation for it. This game pushes buttons for me.

Anyone else? Just the anticipation of hunting my prey sets off dopamine for me. Playing killer is incredibly cathartic for me. And the fact that more people want to play survivor... more people want to be my prey than want to hunt? Well that just means more for me! More to EAT! I grin at my computer every time I yank someone out of a locker. Every time someone is downed to my power at a critical moment. I am baffled as to how killer is the less popular side to play, but I'm not complaining! It means I don't have to share my food!

I like the teamwork. But I agree with you that it's baffling that so many killer mains scream that they game is so stressful and hard to play. It's a game. Why are they playing it if it's not fun? Why would anyone play any game that is not fun?

I believe that exit gates need a small change, this being that the progress of opening the doors should reset when a survivor lets go (similar to totems). I feel that this could lead to a lot of benefit in the game, for one making endgame collapse a more significant game function. As it stands now, the endgame collapse might as well not even exist since survivors can just 99% doors creating no barrier between them and escaping. And even though killers can open doors themselves to force the endgame collapse, its usually a waste of time to do that and giving the survivors even more freedom when you could be chasing down another survivor. Making the door progress reset forces the survivors to make a huge decision for the endgame; either open the doors and force the collapse, or leave the doors closed to go for a last minute save but risk not being able to open the doors in time.

There are also many benefits that this change could have to the game and its meta. For one, it would enhance many perks like blood warden, remember me, wake up, and no one left behind. Blood warden would become better as in the endgame, survivors would be more inclined to open exit gates for not wanting to risk the long opening animation during a vital escape point. Wake up would become more viable as opening the exit gates faster would actually be important especially when going for last minute clutch saves. In addition, the bonus healing and rescue speeds from no one left behind could be more useful as opening the gates would be more incentivized. Remember me would also become better as having the exit gates take longer to open would incentivize the survivors to start the endgame collapse even during a dangerous point in the game.

Overall, making this small change to exit gates, I feel would make a significant impact on the gameplay in DBD. In addition, the only small drawback is that survivors would be forced to open the gates when someone is hooked in order to be able to go for an effective save causing the endgame collapse. However, those clutch saves would still be possible but it would put a lot more pressure on the survivors to make the move if they want the save. I would almost consider that another benefit considering that camping is a problem of its own. Consideration would be appreciated.

End game collapse is already a huge change that only benefits killers. You have the option to open doors if you want to. It's a give and take like everything else in the game.

Mine would be Blight as I have pretty much never lost to him and it's very rare I win as him.

Ghostface. Genuinely stopped playing the game for more than a month because of him. He's boring to go against and for whatever reason, Ghostface players seem to really have a grudge against the world. Not to mention they're the Blendettes of killers - no skill and rely entirely on stealth. Yawn.

Ez pz lemon squeezy. Last 3 games I've brought a key (mainly because I like the add on that let's you see the obsession) and last 3 games Franklin's was used.

BONUS: If you equip the aforementioned add on, it will force an obsession even if no one is using DS, thus the killer will be hesitant to tunnel or will slug, allowing a teammate to pick you up or for you to use Unbreakable.

I used to either bring a brown toolbox to bait out the Franklin's when all my teammates had items, but I rarely even bothered. I just see it as an opportunity to have all the chests to myself now. I assume I'll get tunneled if I bring any key in.

  • @Iudex_Nemesis said:

Could be different reasons but heres a few.

    • The killer's power feels weak.
    • Difficult to master.
    • You just lost interest over time.

  • Ah gotcha. Well, hatch happens sometimes, right? If it makes you feel any better, I almost NEVER ever ever get hatch. Maybe you will get to kill me someday.

Bc queue times are very long when you opt out of crossplay and killers dodge a lot as well. (You end up playing the same ones over and over) so if you outplay them they'll dodge or bring moris. It's unplayable.

Yeah queue times are long for console players as well. If the game is unplayable, stop playing. I did for a long time and just now came back.

Do you ever leave survivors who are good at being chased to find someone else? I regularly run the killer for a minute or more and then they leave me and instantly down my teammates. It makes me laugh and shake my head at the same time. I promise you, most survivors are garbage at the game. Just go find one.

Is it really that important to win? I mean I get it, it feels good to get that 4K or have a flawless 4 man escape but c'mon, winning isn't that important. Like what, if you don't get that 4K are the Devs gonna shoot your mom or something? Otherwise I don't understand why you care THAT much about winning. Was it really necessary to slug that baby dweet until he bled out so that you could get your 4K? Probably not, lol. I mean there comes a point where trying to win becomes a chore. No one could enjoy slugging the third person and searching for two minutes to find the 4th and meanwhile as survivor, doing all the gens in three minutes and escaping without even so much as seeing the killer couldn't possibly be fun right? Prioritizing winning over fun makes every loss sting that bit more and every win feeling kind of shallow if the majority of the match was boring. Am I missing some secret thrill to sweating or something? It sounds more stressful then fun to me.

I don't think survivor mains see all four people escaping as the only win. It definitely seems to be most killer mains who think the only way to win and therefore have fun is getting a 4k. I don't understand it myself. Some of the most popular games in the world right now are battle royales and people still manage to have fun without a clear cut win in every game. But not the DBD crowd. This community is insane and toxic.

I'm on the verge of tears. No matter how good I play, no matter what dirty strategies I try, no matter how many meta perks I bring, no matter the killer I play, I can never get more than one single kill. It makes me so upset that my favorite game is also the game I hate to play the most. I have started playing killer more because I can usually only play this game every Sunday at 7:00-10:00 P.M. and survivor ques at this time take from 1 to 1 and a half hours at the rank I'm in. This makes it so I just play game after game after game of red rank survivors on terrible maps like Ormond and Badham Preschool and get absolutely stomped. The survivors don't even have the common courtesy to wait at the exit gates and let me get hits before they take off. They just leave. I hate that I have an addiction to this game and I'm so super bad at it. I look at videos on how to get better, I look at videos on what I'm doing wrong, I ask people what I can do to get better and they all say the same things: "Get better at looping", "Know when to leave a survivor", "Spread pressure when you're able to." None of it helps. My Undying and Ruin get broken immediately at 5 gens so I try and tunnel to make sure I can at least get one kill. I do t understand how people are so good or why people are so mean. I just want to have fun and this game just makes me mad and lash out. Please tell me what to do this game is ruining my life.

Why are you playing a game you hate? If the game isn't fun, stop playing. I took a break at the end of the first rift and I just came back because challenges made the game unplayable as a solo survivor. Are you kidding about survivors giving you pity hits at the end of games? Why should they? They don't owe you anything. And if you're Undying and Ruin are found immediately, try Corrupt Intervention and Pop instead. They can't be cleansed.

Basically have you ever completed a rift? I play both sides so idk how bad it is to lose half of the possible challenge xp and im just curious

I only play killer for dailies or when queues take 20+ minutes. I did complete the first rift but stopped playing the game after that, and only just now came back. I guess that speaks for itself. I think the rift is genuinely horrible for survivors. As a solo survivor, I frequently have all three of teammates not playing to win, just working on challenges. If you factor in the wait time survivors have, it's just an absolutely miserable experience.

it's not fun to be exhausted on the ground every single time you try to use the perk. why is it still not fixed, it's still buggy and it's 1/10 chance you might actually get it to work

can you fix your damn bugs and make the perks actually work as they should??

Agreed. It's incredibly unreliable and has been for as long as I can remember. Imagine if BBQ didn't work four times a game for killers.

I am a rank 18 killer and I'm trying to learn Legion. But the matchmaking keeps deciding to match me up against purple ranks and higher. WHY THE ######### AM I GETTING THESE MATCHUPS?! I JUST WANT TO LEARN A NEW KILLER WITHOUT GETTING ######### ON BY A BUNCH OF SWEATS!

Same thing happens to me when I play killer. 20-18 little ole me vs red and purple SWFs. I already expect it to happen so I try to just find one person on the team who isn't a god at looping. And all my friends who used to play this game quit because when we'd SWF it would be me in red/purple and then three yellow ranks vs a red/purple killer. We couldn't get a single escape in hours of playing.

  • @JHondo said:

This is gonna be a bit of a rant so I apologise in advance.

Tonight in "playing" for 2 hours I have gotten to play 1 killer match to fulfill a daily and 2 Survivor matches. The remaining time in game has been spent playing lobby simulator, getting a match then a dc throws me right back into lobby simulator.

Of the two actual Survivor matches I have played I have been the only purple rank on a team of yellow and brown ranks with killers that are green or above. Normally this wouldn't tilt me but I've spent more time in lobby tonight than any other time I've played this game!

Something needs to be done because showing how one side feeling wronged leads to the worst match making and queue times I have experienced in this game (and yes this includes the mmr debacle from earlier this year)

Anyone else incredibly frustrated and about to just give up on DbD at least for the remainder of the weekend?

Yeah it's taking a minimum of 10 minutes to get a game. Finally got into a game, got and got a camping, tunneling, slugging, and teabagging Ghostface so I DCed. I'm just playing another game now. I'm already having more fun and I'm still in the loading screen.

Than killers wonder why it's so strong. STOP TUNNELING

I love how killer mains pretend most people don't prefer to just tunnel. I try to take hits for my teammates when the killer just straight up camps and there are so many times where they walk around me just to tunnel. I also get farmed a lot as a solo survivor and there's nothing I can do about it. Why shouldn't I have some chance of being able to keep playing, especially when waiting 10+ minutes for a game on console is common?

  • I think the DC penalty is bad for the game too. If I get banned from playing a game, I just stop playing it. I suspect you and I aren't the only ones. Meanwhile I just waited 12 minutes to get one game. It can't be good for a game to prevent people from playing it, especially since people can still kill themselves on first hook.

  • At least you're getting games. I've been waiting for ten minutes as a solo survivor so far.

  • @Wesker09 said:

    Sorry had to be said

Couldn't agree more. It's my favorite when all three of my red rank teammates are self caring against a Legion every time they're hit.

  • @JoeyBob said:

Bloodlust allows killers to potentially down survivors when they've been in a chase for a long time without breaking pallets. Not only does this change force killers to break pallets they could otherwise bloodlust, but it gives the potential to drastically increase chase times without any downside to the survivors.

Game is just becoming more and more survivor sided. First they nerfed bloodlust now theyre removing it all together.

End came collapse. Insta heals no longer insta. Styptics no longer heal. Toolboxes destroyed. Survivors lose add ons now for no apparent reason. Yep. Everything just hurts killers and helps survivors, uwu.

  • As a survivor main, I haven't noticed any difference. There are still bad killers who wouldn't get me even with Bloodlust. There are still good killers who outplay me without it. I know people are screaming about infinites, but I haven't had a single game where any teammate abused any loops. Most survivors are clueless about stuff like that.

  • @nytkim said:

Considering most maps are unbalanced around loops, killers like Wraith and Trapper will be basically useless with this mechanic gone. On the other hand, we will see more and more of Spirit, Freddy, Pyramid Head and Deathslinger.

Which killers do you think are affected the most and that will never be played again?

Do killers ever play games to have fun or is it only possible for killers to have fun if they get a 4k every game? I'm a survivor main but I know some killers are stronger than others. I still play the ones I want to because it's fun. It's pretty dramatic to think killers will never be played again if bloodlust is removed.

  • @chieften333 said:

Well many have actually noted a couple of infinites that are now possible without bloodlust, mainly the asylum, the god bus on autohaven, and apparently killer shack when a hook is on the corner. Not to mention the hell that is the house of pain with a 110% speed killer.

If they stick with removing bloodlust then they will have to do some serious map rebalancing throughout every realm.

Serious question - what percentage of players do you think know about those loops and will always run them flawlessly?

  • @DeadByCommunity said:

is it me or is anyone waiting a bit too long to find a match as survivor today all of a sudden?

I waited 20-30 minutes at one point and then I started getting games in like 2-3 minutes. It was all over the place for me on PS4 tonight.

But most other killer don´t. In these 2 ppl situation, i usually get found because i stll do gens, while the other just hides. i really think fpr a lot of killers who claim to do that its just wishfull thinking, because they dont know who the one just hidding is, and they only find the one near the gen.

I agree 100% that most killers don't. I also get killed a lot in this situation and my teammate gets hatch. I'm always playing to win, not settling for maybe getting hatch, but that's not how most survivors play. I just had ANOTHER game with all four teammates alive with one gen to go and while I was being chased, all three did nothing. It happens in literally MOST of my games as a solo survivor. They're certainly not going to work on a gen with only one other person left. I'm at the point where if I know my teammate isn't doing anything and I happen to know where the hatch is, I make sure I go down on it so the killer can close it. I am doing anything to help teammates who stop playing anymore.

  • @sekkima said:

    Then switch to PC.

Keep in mind that if your console is of the first generation (~ 2014), don't expect the fifth wonder either.

Yeah just buy a pc, forehead.

Things seem fine for me on PS4 for what it's worth. I don't play cross platform.

  • @JHondo said:

I just had a game against a Pig where she downed me last after closing hatch so EGC started and put a trap in my head. She let me wiggle off and I finished opening the gate because "I'm not gonna try every box and I don't feel like waiting out EGC to die" so I went to leave and the game actually let me escape. Is this a bug or has that always been by design? I am so confused but happy I got my escape as Adam challenge done finally with the long queue times due to Bloodlust boycotting.

They haven't always been like that but currently they only activate when a gen is repaired. You can also always leave via hatch with a trap on. Also, queues seem as long as always. I love that killer mains are possibly boycotting something the devs are just testing. I'm sure that's great for the health of the game.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

This is me just putting down and asking the community what infinite loops they have found during the time of the Blood Lust removal:

The ones I have found are:

The auto haven open window bus(To the surprise of no one)

Window corner hook shack variant: The hook doesn't effect survivors as much as it does the killer and without BL it can be looped until the entity window blocker spawns.

Also yes the KILLER SHACK can be an infinite right now if a hook spawns on one of the corners that is on the window side if played properly by the survivor making shack even without its pallet not worth chasing through.

Isn't it just a test to see what happens? Either way, it seems like a brilliant idea to list all the loops to help survivors even more. Genius plan.

  • @carnage4u said:

I would say 70% of games I play as survivor when the game goes bad and there are 2 survivors left, the killer will more then likely Slug 1 of the 2 remaining to hunt down the last to try to deny the hatch.

I understand this is a good move to try to deny the hatch, but I do have to wonder why is it so overwhelming popular? I believe Killers have a harder time then survivors in general, but when the killer is having a great game, and going to get 3 kills, why is so bad if you go into the find the hatch part of the game?

I play killer more then survivor and I guess I never care enough to try to deny that hatch part of the game, but I'm all in the chase part of the game.

I guess this is one of the reasons unbreakable is soo popular, but I'm just over cookie cutter builds.

This has been my useless ted talk.

It seems for most killers, games aren't fun and they aren't wins unless they get a 4k. I personally am bored to death as killer when survivors just hide and wait for hatch. I know they're going to get it and I'm glad the game will end and I can move on to the next. I do slug sometimes to try to find the person who is hiding and doing nothing, and then I try to give the person I already downed the hatch as a reward for actually playing. But most survivors are selfish and bad, so it's hard to do. And I'm a survivor main, btw.

right just play survivor(easy mode) or quit oh wait if we all who play killer do that there be no game oh well.

I bet you don't play killer and if you do only the ones that are Op.

I play killer occasionally. I like Hag, Trapper, and Plague. Not sure of those are the OP ones you mean. Nothing about playing killer stresses me out. It's a game that I play to have fun. But I'm a solo survivor. You're right, it's so easy. I literally spawn into a game and just instantly escape with 30k bp every time.

If you are stressed out by a video game, quit playing.

I’m 400 hours in now. 390 of that is probably Survivor so I can play with friends. I hover around rank 6-8. I still feel trash and kinda lost. Feel like I barely know the maps still, can’t memorise loop layouts to save my life (shack and LT walls are about the only ones I feel comfortable on, and that’s if I’m lucky enough to be near them due to lack of map knowledge and even then that’s only if the killer just follows me and doesn’t mind game or change route at all). 4/5 games I spawn in, literally tap a gen and the killer is on me and it’s a case of panic running and hoping I find a pallet, rather than comfortably knowing the map layout and knowing my route. I’ve watched so many YouTube guides and loop tutorials and map layout videos and even plenty of 360 guides And jukes but 360’s never work for me neither do fake vaults or anything like that. Killer always just locks on like they have strong aim assist and hits me despite me taking a sharp turn at the window instead of vaulting. Idk just feels like no matter how much research I do and how much I play and implement tips, none of it works and I’m still just a bot. Struggling to find the fun in barely getting 10k score a game Cos of getting tunnelled or flat out just failing in chases. I don’t think it’s a perk issue Cos what I’m running is pretty standard - WGLF for BP, Bond, Dead Hard & Borrowed Time.

im ranting a bit too much now but idk whether it’s just the way the game is or I’m just straight trash lol but the game has lost a lot of enjoyment for me as I thought after 400 hours I’d be pretty good but i still feel like I only picked the game up last week type #########.

I definitely felt comfortable before the 400 hour mark. That is not intended to be obnoxious. It could be that playing with friends is more of a handicap to learning the game? I've played almost entirely solo and I wanted to be chased because I wanted to learn. Spins and fake vaults don't work a lot on good killers, but keep doing it. It will work sometimes and if you're going to get hit anyway, why not?

I also get caught a lot at the start of the game. As soon as I load into the game, I'm planning on where I'm going to run first, and then where I'm going to run after I get hit at that first loop or LT tile.

I'd definitely change my perks if I were you. You're running a pretty altruistic build but if you're trying to get better and learn the game, it's not selfish to use perks that help YOU. I run Dead Hard but I didn't when I first started. It's also super unreliable on console. I regularly have games where I am exhausted on the ground four times. If you're only getting 10k BP a game, what's the point of running WGLF anyway? It just gives you BP, it doesn't help you survive. Borrowed obviously helps other but does nothing for you. Don't feel guilty about using other perks for a while. I feel like Lithe is a very solid exhaustion perk if you want to use one of them, especially since you said you're comfortable with running shack and LT walls. I've never had it fail like Dead Hard does, and there aren't enough maps that I can use Balanced on. I also run Adren, which does get me killed sometimes with NOED but also saves my butt a lot. I'm good at being chased and it has saved me many times when my teammates actually do gens.

Are you on Playstation by any chance? We could run around in a KYF if you want and see if I can help any.

Did you read what I wrote at all? I am not talking about in game voice chat. Of course that would be terrible to killers. I'm talking about a communication wheel in which the survivors THEMSELVES communicated small short sentences in order to work together better. This is not a big buff to survivors because doing so could also revel your position to the killer.

Please actually READ what I post before you commit thank you.

    No I'm illiterate.

But to reiterate, I don't want any way to listen to my toxic teammates. It's not necessary and I don't want to hear them either spamming lines from their voice actors or any in-game communications. I was actually talking to a friend who doesn't play DBD. He doesn't like a lot of multiplayer games because of how toxic people can be. I told him DBD didn't have any communication between teammates in game, and it was one of the things I liked about it.

    Was that more helpful?

  • @Ghoste said:

It was too easy to stockpile good add-ons. Many Survivors could run the best add-ons every game and essentially never run out. Add-ons really make a huge difference when you consider all 4 Survivors can use them. And lastly, I think it's only fair Survivors lose add-ons since Killers do as well.

I don't think it's fair to lose add ons you don't even use. It's easier for killers to get bp with BBQ. Ebony moris are so common it's not even funny.

  • @NotACompPlayer said:

Up until a few months ago, whenever you escaped with an item with addons, both the addons and the item were added to your inventory, then they changed it.

I really don't understand why they did this, most changes in this game are made to even things out, to make things more balanced because they are too strong/unenjoyable, but for the life of me I can't understand why they made you lose addons while escaping. It doesn't make anything more balanced, it wasn't too strong and it wasn't changed because killers had an issue with survivors keeping their addons. It's simply a change that's supposed to directly make the game more grindy and boring. Yes, I understand that a reasoning for this change would be consistency, because killers lose addons as well, but I don't see why this would be needed.

If someone gets a benefit that simply is nice for them and doesn't harm anyone, and the other side doesn't get said thing, shouldn't we simply be happy that at least someone has the benefit instead of no one having it and removing it for everyone?

I don't think you realize how toxic and mean spirited this community is.

My guess is they did it because killers thought it was unfair. Never mind that BBQ made it much easier for killers to get bp. They did make WGLF better than it was, but I still think BBQ is much better and easier for bloodpoints. Toolboxes are irrelevant now, so the only thing I might bring in is a medkit, but so many killers are farming now that I don't want to bring anything in that is going to be wasted. If killers equipped something for their ability and didn't use it the entire game, why would I care if he got to keep his add ons at the end of the game? But nah. Let's just do something that hurts survivors for no reason.

  • @Soulslayer618 said:

so Im using up all my items before I prestige my character and in a game with a broken key I talked to the killer afterwords

apparently when he saw the key I had it made him a little flustered mistakes happened and what WAS a losing game turned into a 4 man escape

addons aside because I forgot I had the damn thing the broken key has decent uses. if nothing else it makes them try just a little bit harder which can be fun

I'd use them more but I think my teammates will assume theyre purple or pink and stop playing even more than they already do. I get keys could be bad with a SWF but as a solo survivor, they do a lot more damage than good for me. Can't tell you how many games I've been abandoned with no chance to get out, or had a teammate loot a key and then just stop playing and wait for us all to die so they can get hatch. I love seeing killers scream on the forum about how unfair they are.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

They should definitely be looking into making a communication for solo. To give the survivors the ability to talk would massively help elevate the ambiguity and confusion between survivors. And this is very possible because each survivor would have different voice actors already. And it won't always be a benefit to survivors there could be a range in which thr killer can hear them communicating.

Do you all agree as well? Is this a good idea?

P.s I don't mean in game voice chat

Yeah I like that I don't have any way to listen to my toxic teammates. It's bad enough they are willing to send me a message after the game to let me know I didn't do what they wanted or that they told the killer where I was after they died.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Honestly iv just had enough of these games, if i am chased first and do a long chase just to go down and see 3 people running around doing nothing im giving up. i will not carry bad players anymore and ill just get out the game and actually find a new one where players actually play, im tired of running kindred to see all 3 people run towards me and im tired of having to do most of the gens and still lead on the longest chases in the match to just have a chance. FIX THE DAMN RANKING OR PUNISH PLAYERS NOT DOING THE OBJECTIVES OR DECENT CHASES.

You're forgetting part of the problem is the Tome. The reason you see three people running towards you right now when you have Kindred is that they want their seven heals for that challenge. The Tome has completely destroyed survivor gameplay as a solo queuer. I quit playing for months because of it after I finished the first one, and I just came back to see if the game was any more tolerable.

I get they want data, but the game is already stressful enough to play. Then to disable Bloodlust on top of that, when it's needed in maps like Autohaven, Haddonfield, and the Elementary School just to catch survivors around the long and ridiculously close loops. There is no point putting yourself through that additional stress.

I'm sure I'm not the only one making this decision. Most probably won't say anything, especially since when anyone voices anything killer related they just get dismissed.

Anywho. This kind of 'test' should of been done on the PTB, not the main game. The main game should be used for the best experience, not making harder on the most stressful role just for data.

I cannot get over how many killers on the forum complain that this game is stressful. It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. Please for the love of god, stop and think why you're playing a game that stresses you out so much.
