So i played 3 games so far all 4Ks(rank 4)
2 Pig- Surge, endering, bbq, STBFL
1 Legion- Same thing but discordance instead of STBFL.
Legit noticed no difference at least on these 3 maps
Autohaven wreckers yard, chapel, and badham.
So hows yalls games going?
Two games so far
One clown who just seemed to want his four BBQ stacks and then he was chill
Second was a really bad Toblerone and I had equally bad teammates so it didn't seem any different than those situations usually do.

As long as I'm being chased by the killer I'm having fun. But when im hooked and I notice all of my teammates bird watching I just suicide on hook. Plus it helps me to stay in purple ranks, I find them a lot more fun and less sweaty
Yeah I kill myself too if I've been chase long enough for three gens to pop and none do. And then when I'm finally downed, my teammates are just crouched, doing absolutely nothing? haha byeee

I'd love to know how many survivors actually run it. I am shocked more players don't use DS. After waiting anywhere from 5-15 minutes to get a game, I'm then farmed and tunneled out and should just be happy about it? I have more than 1000 hours in this game and I have ONCE purposely hopped into a locker after being tunneled (no one else was chased, I didn't have the opportunity to work on any other objectives). Even though this spirit tunneled me off the hook three times straight, she was so bad my DS was going to run out because that's how long I ran her. So with about five seconds left, I hopped into a locker. If she's going to tunnel me off the hook three times and she falls for this while I'm the obsession, she deserves it. I died anyway, because even after the DS, she kept on me.

I want to say something, I love playing killer. I've always liked playing killer. And I play Myers, Blight, Legion, Trapper, and Pyramid head. And killer has a raw appeal to me that I can't push off. But I hate playing against survivors. I'm only a rank 16 because I can't win enough games. I have gotten approximately 60 messages from swf groups and survivor mains of them just straight up complaining or making fun of me. So I started following these toxic player's "rules." but it doesn't matter, no matter how much you let them escape, let them toy with you and play with you, no matter how much you avoid downing recently unhooked survivors, it doesn't matter. You will get messages from these players if you get one kill of them just complaining. And when all 4 escape, they send you messages like gg lol, you suck, etc.
I want to talk about perks next. These survivors pretty much believe that the killer's are not allowed to use anything. My blight build is pretty basic, Discordance, (for lethal rushing survivors), Save the best for last, (because swf love to group), Brutal strength, (because toxic survivors love to loop pallets and I want to counter that), and forced penance, (Because swf groups take protection hits and immediately heal in like 2 seconds.) I had to purposely make my build all about stopping these toxic swf groups. But it doesn't matter. The only way to win against these people are to tear apart their rulebook. Killer perks are incredibly weak compared to survivor perks, (Not including hex perks).
Unbreakable is there to prevent slugging. But Slugging means you just outplayed the survivors and won the game quickly, and you feel accomplished before 1 millisecond later they all get up off the ground and you have to do all of that again.
Decisive strike is super annoying to play against. I know its meant to prevent tunneling but 60 freaking seconds?! That's way too long, that's about 2 chases. You could find them and down them after they get unhooked for 45 seconds but it won't matter. Because even if you just downed them they stun you. Always. It feels like decisive lasts for the whole god damn game.
Sprint burst is also really annoying. You might find someone hiding near an unsafe pallet, you approach them, and they just run away. Combined with their Iron Will, it makes it almost impossible to find them.
We'll Make It is a common perk chosen by swf's, they love taking protection hits because they think that when they're healty they are invincible. We'll make it should only work for the person unhooked. Not all of them. And 90 seconds is enough time to heal your entire team against tier 3 thanat.
I feel like the game is in a horrible spot for killers right now. And with bloodlust removed, that only makes things worse.
Not to be nasty, but if you're only a rank 16 killer, I don't think you've played enough to say how horrible the game is right now for killers. I agree though that this community is toxic. I get nasty messages from other survivors all the time complaining about how I played. I have received messages telling me that they messaged the killer telling them where I am when I'm the last alive. I get messages when I play killer too.
If you're on console, turn off your messaging from randos. If you're on PC, just leave. Play how you want to play. If it's not fun, take a break.

Honestly Just getting good helps alot. Like when I started I thought it was bad but I loved the game. But I ended up getting good and now can rely on myself mostly, but I've learned to no longer let myself get chased first, it ends up me being juggled or tunneled or camped. So I try and get points BEFORE I get chased. As for teammates you just get used to it, or turn off crossplay. The people who turn off crossplay usually think other players from different platforms are bad and its usually the players that actually try to play. I turned it off a couple times and got great teammates.
I am pretty good at the game though. I don't mind being chased first because I'm good at it and can buy my teammates a lot of time. But when I'm chased first which happens a lot, and all three teammates are waiting to unhook and heal me instead of doing any gens because of a challenge, it destroys the game.

At this point I ignore the rest of the team and think of this game as a 1v1. Most of the killers, when they see that I was the only one trying to play the damn game, let me go just because they pity me.
I did get let go by a nice clown the other day for the first time in like a year. And once again, there was one gen left with all four survivors alive and literally all three of them stopped doing gens and just hid except me. Which I think is why he let me go - he knew I was the only one actually playing. It is truly still shocking to me after 1000+ hours in this game, how often ALL THREE TEAMMATES stop playing and wait for that last gen (or two or three) to pop.

I stopped caring, and rather than finding the baby Bills in my game frustrating, I find them adorable. If you go into solo q with the expectation of escaping, you're going to get annoyed very quickly. I'm happy with a game if I have a good chase, and even if I die being slugged for 4 minutes I don't get annoyed, because like I said it's best to just stop caring what happens.
I guess my expectation is that my teammates will actually be playing the game. I very much do not expect to escape every game. I expect to be the first one caught in 90% of my games, and I HOPE that at least two of my three teammates are doing ANYTHING while I'm buying them time because iIm pretty good at being chased. I also expect to cleanse four totems and die the first time I'm touched because I didn't have time to cleanse the fifth. That happened two games in a row the other day.

@Blueberry said:
If you yourself are actually playing good regardless of how bad your teammates are you will steadily rank up. Steadily ranking up increases the chances of competent teammates. Even if my team is really bad we may all die, but I will still pip. There are issues with solo queue revolving primarily around it being too easy to rank up and the rank reset problem, but in general I think people over exaggerate how bad solo queue is. I primarily play solo queue and I survive probably 80% of my matches at least and I don't run almost any of the second chance meta perks either.
I think a lot of this comes down to people blaming solo queue as the reason they're doing bad when they're actually playing bad themselves and don't take any responsibility.
It's not that my teammates have been bad - they're just ONLY working on challenges.
I have deranked from 7 to 10 since these latest challenges come out. And I have to say, since taking a break and coming back from 20 to 5 (before the reset), I consistently had better teammates at higher ranks than I do at red and purple.
Also, how do you survive in 80% of your games when in most of my games, all three teammates will stop doing the last 1-3 gens and just wait for everyone else to finish? I am not kidding about how often this happens to me as a solo survivor. I had a game the other day BEFORE the seven heal challenge where I had to finish the last three gens entirely alone.

Tbh solo queue feels less bad than duo.
When I solo queue and my team is nothing than Urban Evasioning potatoes who Selfcare in corners, I will just let em die on hook while doing my objective. Duo is triggering me way more cause most of the time me and my friend get two potatoes who won't try to unhook, do gens or anything. Worst are the ones that will crouch RIGHT NEXT to a hooked person, killer nowhere to be seen but they just won't unhook - please tell me WHY and how are those people even in red ranks??? Anyways most of the time in duo we don't get ANYTHING done cause me and my friend have to stop doing gens and run across the map to help eachother etc. cause the rest of the "team" is busy playing the blending game.
I keep having games like this but with randoms. Two people won't do anything but Urban Evade and sit on gens, and two of us get tunneled out of the game. I had two games in a row against a Spirit like this before the latest Tome came out.

Well most of solo survivor is pain in the ass but sometimes matrix breaks and you get good surviovors which know exactly what to do. Thats super satisfying
It's not even that people are bad, they're just unwilling to play. The funniest thing about this challenge is that most people seem to be terrified of playing injured so it's not even hard to get seven heals in, but everyone is playing differently.

No Autodidact definitely removed 70% chance of getting skill checks you get like 2 the entire game but take the perk off and you have 8 in one heal.
0 skill checks in 3 heals so far but I stopped for now. As always, the new challenges destroy gameplay for survivors so I'm just staying on gens.

We never pay attention to the Skills Check RNG, sometimes you don't get a single skills check on a gen. Then when you have the lust to get Skill Checks you feel like you never get them. Hard to explain but it's just an illusion that you don't get them
Yeah I realize it could just seem that way. I actually started writing down my skill checks with Autodidact and without. So far in three full heals with it, zero skill checks. But I'm not even going for saves anymore since this new challenge is out and no one will touch a gen until they get that challenge done.

I know these issues are pretty much known to everyone but since starting to play on steam as well as ps4 you get a much better idea of what they're supposed to endure. Apart from a few matches where I've been matched with noobs I'm going against red and purple survivors with 1000s of hours, and full perk sets -which is fine with me, obviously a bit more engaging than killing beginners although ideally I'd have something a bit more to throw back at them apart from tier 1 spies and tier 1 bloodhound-
but how many new players drawn to the killer role are going to stick around if they're just going to be a punching bag match after match? I get that matchmaking is probably always going to be terrible, possibly even with MMR. But give new players something. A more advanced tutorial, a training area (everyone wants one and if you could try out new killers and perks there you'd probably increase sales), a warning or BP boost when their lobby is full of reds, a way to unlock some free perks from the shrine, idk but you should give them something.
I played survivor first and got destroyed endlessly and stuck around. No game is easy when you first start it. And when it's a fair match, a beginner killer is much easier than a beginner survivor.

I just hate playing against it as killer, since it's used against me offensively more often that it's used defensively and eating even a single DS can be devastating. I don't like it enough as killer that I choose not to use it as survivor.
Just had four games in a row where the killer camped and tunneled every single person. It's just absolutely miserable to play as a solo survivor without it.

Yeah I've been there too. I just stop using them. I know it makes him a lot weaker but there's nothing you can do if it's a full SWF. It just wastes time to set traps they will avoid or disarm.

@Alphaphalt said:
We all know how killer games go. Find your first survivor, he runs in circles for 3 minutes, all the gens get done and they escape with Adrenaline/BT/DS/DH. This has become so bad that there are only 2 killers (Sally and Rin) that can consistently perform well in Red Ranks if they want to double pip and retain their Rank 1. Even worse - Rin was broken last update so unless you were Nurse your pip was a heavily weighted coin toss. Some killers such as Caleb and Triangle Daddy can sometimes beat a strong Red Rank SWF, but can't compete if they use the Genrush Strategy.
This is why I think the game should try and cut down on this stupid running in circles strategy to win every game without thinking. Instead, we should focus on the Stealth aspect of the game. I think most survivors (who aren't pathetic bullies) can agree that the suspense of a killer almost finding you in a hiding spot is far more thrilling than running around a pallet 10 times rinse repeat. The fact that there are 10+ pallets which can each last from 30 seconds to a few minutes (Bloodlust takes way too long to kick in) pushes the "chase killer only" meta that has plagued so many players into only playing Rin Sally and sometimes Caleb.
We want to play Amanda and sneak up on survivors.
We want to play Anna and line up a sweet hatchet on a Zarina who didn't quite hide well enough.
We want to play Lisa and scare survivors with our Phantasms.
But we can't - because the meta right now is looping, and any killer that doesn't excel there isn't viable.
Could you...maybe...play a game...with any of those other killers...and still have fun...even without a 4k?
Do killers only have fun if they get 4ks?
It always makes me laugh when a killer chases me for more than a minute, finally leaves me, and then instantly downs one of my teammates. I'd love to know where all the god tier survivors are that you go against, cause they're rarely on my teams. When I play killer, if I find someone who is clearly better than I am and is going to take a long time to catch, I go looking for someone else. If a killer gets so mad that I'm better than they are and they're willing to chase me for five gens, that's on them.
Should I just stand still and not run from killers? If I can't loop, what will killers stop doing in return?

How is anyone who doesn't main hillbilly supposed to get this without purposefully deranking? I could understand if this was a challenge during the double charge add-on days but it isn't, even if they just made it a regular challenge as opposed to a master challenge this would be so much better.
I think these challenges are why there are so many farming games lately. I was away from this game for months and just came back a couple weeks ago. I am shocked by how often killers are farming. It's a third or more of my games sometimes. But when the Tome is so grindy and half the challenges are killer while most people play survivor, welp, there you have it.

The most pathetic playstyle playing a P3 Pyramid Head. Hiding your terror radius camping basement as a Pig. Literally camping hooks, I wouldn't mind if I actually got some points from the game. But just because the Killer sees there is no obsession, TUNNEL TIME. 2 games in a row, under 10k points at rank 1...how sad it is people have to play like this. I don't know what I can even do apart from forcing myself to use a aNtI-TunNeLiNg PeRk...massive flaw in the games design to have a game ended after a couple of minutes just because i'm not using a certain perk or just because there is no obsession. Maybe i'll chalk it down to me playing bad, but not much you can do against someone hiding their terror radius at a basement so no BT or you know looping a Killer that can hit through walls and even if he misses he get's no cooldown to do it 2 seconds later.
Then the game after these 2 games is a camping iri-head Huntress. NGL I can't remember the last time I went against a Killer who could actually play good and earn their Kills.
SuRvIvOr SiDeD game.
I honestly don't know why every survivor doesn't run DS. I'm not being toxic, I just don't want to be farmed and tunneled out of the game (I'm a solo survivor, for what it's worth), especially after waiting so long in a lobby. -Healthy survivor who rescued proceeds to stealth & hide, leaving me with no choice but to chase the injured survivor who was just on the hook and since he can't stealth.
-Proceed to post-game where they complained that I only tunnelled despite clearly limiting my options to only being able to chase the guy who was just hooked.

I like Trapper a lot when I actually get even matches against my noob killer, which is rare. When I get rank rank SWFs against my level 18 Trapper, meh, on to the next one. It is obvious and clear that BHVR puts great importance on character outfits because that's the thing that makes them big money. However, having said that, it's odd when you realize just how few skins there really are in this game and how rarely we get new ones. And most of all, how few of them actually stand out, most of them are just minor color changes or simplistic new trouser or shirt designs with not much imagination.
Don't get me wrong, I think that there are some amazing skins in the game but it's weird how come they clearly have a team of dedicated skin designers but mostly come out with mediocre stuff that you would see in some mobile games and yet you are required to pay around 5-10€ per skin, it's ridiculous.
I would love to see more skins more often, bigger variety, more imagination put into them. For god's sake, why not give us an engineer Dwight skin, or gothic/emo stuff, or steam punk, sci-fi, whatever, there's so much potential, but we mostly get generic stuff I can find from a real clothing store.
I love me some skins. I agree there should be more and I'm surprised there aren't. I think the Tome kinda destroyed the game, especially as a solo survivor, and I would have much rather had a quickly rotating shop with all these skins than the Tome which causes people to throw games just to get challenges done.

I was away from the game for months and came back at 20 and worked my way back to 5. I would say I consistently had good teammates at yellow ranks, which surprised me. I get tons and TONS of teammates who do nothing but self care and wait for everyone else to finish the last gen. Or three. When I'm injured and the only person working on the last gen, it's a nightmare. It's kinda shocking how often all three teammates stop playing in red and purple ranks.

I wouldn't use more than 2 in any given build. That leaves a lot of doors for weaknesses in other areas. The basis of any good Killer build is;
Regression Perk / Awareness Perk / Synergy Perk / Free Slot
Regression Perk; This Perk is what balances gen speed in the game. It can help prevent gen rush.
Awareness Perk; To be able to find/track survivors and/or their movements. Use it to keep the game flowing.
Synergy Perk; This perk synergizes well with other perks, or the Killer's power/playstyle. Use it to optimize your strengths.
Free Slot; Normally goes to another Synergy perk. Though really it's up to you and where your own strengths lie, what you prefer, and what your good at using.
I don't remember seeing 3 regression perks in a single build in months in red ranks. Most follow the above system.
I keep seeing Pop, Thrilling, Corrupt, and BBQ.

Thrilling isn't a slowing perk, it only affects gens that AREN'T being worked on and doesn't regress them, it's an information tool very similar to BBQ.
Multiple slowing perks isn't uncommon because the biggest issues killers face is gen speed, and rather than actually do anything to balance that at a base level, the devs would prefer to add 60 different bandaids. Most other perks provide comparable benefit or more fun ways of interacting with the game as killer, but nothing really beats the tangible benefit of adding time and breathing room to the game.
I find gen repair goes a lot faster when I'm actually able to repair them. Thrilling both slows down gens and gives the killer information.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
I only usually run two slowdown perks on most of my killers, but that's mainly because I like Utility and Info perks a lot. Gen defence is really important as a killer though, as it directly impedes the survivor's main objective and gives you more time to, well, kill them. The meta combo right now is Ruin + Undying + Pop (in case all the totems go).
I always saw a good amount of Pop at higher ranks so that doesn't seem any different to me. Ruin also seems normal but not a lot of Undying. Are you on PC? I'm on console so I wonder if it's different.
-
@RocketPenguin said:

@savevatznick said:
It's advantageous to run slowdown perks because survivors that want to win will do what they're supposed to : pound gens and end the game ASAP. The slowdown perks give the killer time to build actual pressure via hooks and downs, which further slows the game down by actually getting people off gens.
You can get far more mileage out of them, much more reliably, in terms of time saved than running something like a chase perk or tracking perk which you may or may not even need.
Yeah I understand. I have more than 1000 hours in the game. I'm just surprised to see three so often these days. After being away for months, the game is definitely different. I am seeing a lot of Corrupt, Pop, and Thrilling along with BBQ.

Is it normal for Survivors to use perks that let them heal faster or repair generators faster?
Well, I would say no, it's not normal for survivors to use perks that let them heal faster or repair gens faster. I rarely see survivor perk that does either of those things, to be honest. I see tons of self care, which is so slow it causes me to lose a lot of games, and I rarely see Prove Thyself. Most people are TERRIFIED to play injured, so I NEVER see Resilience or This Is Not Happening. I sometimes run Stake Out when I've prestiged someone and I have nothing else.
As I said, I wasn't being salty. I was just surprised to see THREE in so many of my games lately.
-
I kinda have always thought map offerings should go. I'm a solo survivor but I can definitely see how miserable it would be for a killer against certain SWFs. And as that solo survivor, stop creeping at me through walls on The Game, MIGUEL! It's not good for my heart.
-
I think it should be removed from the game, period. I had the same thing happen - left a game a few seconds early while I was being sacrificed, and got a penalty. It was my third in a few hours after two different games had teammates decide to block me in while I was cleansing a totem (which is happening to me more and more lately, btw).
People still DC. I had survivors DC in 5 out of my 6 killer games yesterday. I recently had two survivor games in a row where two teammates DCed. People also kill themselves on first hook all the time. Meanwhile, I have 15 minutes suvivor queues. It cannot be healthy for the game to ban people from playing it.

Yes because it'd be one minute of sitting phase 2 on the hook if you take the attempts at escaping versus sitting on the ground unable to do anything other than crawl for four minutes. I think the benefit of that change would outweigh the negatives and would draw the stupid slug the third games to a much quicker close.
I've at least had a lot of close games ruined by people who didn't like that they got hooked and just hook suicided.
I still see tons of DC's along with suiciding so I'm not even sure why the penalty is still in the game. I've had penalties for when my teammates block me in while I'm cleansing a totem (twice in a few hours the other day, once again today but I didn't DC, just enjoyed my crows and reported the person after the game even though it does nothing). All the DC penalty does is give killers a BBQ stack, in my opinion. And I played killer the other day to work on challenges - get 20 hooks - and I had survivors DC in five out of my six games. There are times though when I desperately wish I had a cyanide tooth in my mouth when I'm slugged so I could just get out already.

I'm expecting @TheClownIsKing to know this, but I wanted to hear people's opinions on him.
We know Clown is getting a rework next (or at least some changes, something along those lines).
What's good or bad about the Clown and what changes do you think need to be made?
As a survivor main, I think he's a decent killer to go against. People almost always seem to use exhaustion add ons which cancels Dead Hard, and I can't see anything in his cloud anyway. Not to mention most survivors don't seem to understand what Pop is. It seems to be very common for Clowns to camp hooks too because they just spam bottles so it's very difficult to make a safe save unless you run Borrowed. That's not a lot of fun as a solo survivor.

Unlocking right now 60+ perks x3 for every killer is starting to be quite the endless grind. Considering you "always" get the perks you want in the end, it makes it even longer. I have several killers I can never play at rank 1, or maybe I can in like 6 mounths when I have unlocked the perks.
Any plans on changing the system alittle with all the new killers being added?
You probably can play those killers though at any rank you want, with whatever perks you want. I'm a survivor main and I never expect to get 4Ks when I play killer. I don't have the experience, perks, or add ons to have much of a chance. I can still play them and have fun though.

Can’t remember last time a killer let me escape. It was so usual time ago
It's probably been more than a year for me, but I have had a two killers lately work with other another survivor to sandbag me and then they let them go.

It's pretty silly that we can't just "give up" after a certain amount of time slugged so you can just move onto the next one.
Slugging isn't an issue when the killer does it to punish grouped up survivors but when you leave a guy on the ground for 4 minutes because you don't want the last guy to get hatch (unless they were a toxic pos), it's incredibly lame for everyone involved.
I'll admit, I've done it as killer but for the most part I've done it because I hate the 4th guy and then I give the slugged guy hatch.
Another random thought: maybe if BHVR would remove hook suiciding this would be less common. I get so tired of my teammates hook suiciding when a game isn't going their way and it would give killers a bit longer to look for that last guy before hatch opens so most of them don't feel compelled to slug.
So you think it's okay to give up when you're slugged but not on the hook? If I run the killer long enough for all three of my teammates to each pop a gen, and when I'm finally downed, none of them are doing anything? I'm out. Sorry, but I'm not wasting my time with teammates like that. I can't do it all.

I've also uninstalled and taken months long breaks from the game. I also find it frustrating as a solo survivor who sometimes waits 15 minutes for a game to get slugged at five gens. It happens a LOT now that I'm back in purple ranks. I just had it happen two games in a row, in fact. I've been thinking about running Unbreakable and Soul Guard along with my DS and Dead Hard now. I want to actually play the game, it's not about winning or losing. It seems like a lot of killers absolutely need to get a 4K to have fun, and I'll never understand that mentality. Like I said, I want to actually play the game. I think it's smart that you take breaks from the game if you're not having fun. Most people seem to come on the forum and scream about how miserable the game is for them and then they keep playing.
