FFS this has been a huge and apparent problem that has been given bandaid fixes that fixed NOTHING. Will they ever actually fix it? I mean, unless losing a gen for every chase is still fine and 'We need to snowball'. Spoiler, it isnt and it's about the same level of fun as getting facecamped by bubba
I quit playing this game months ago, and I came back recently to see if anything had changed with the tome. It hasn't. Game after game after game, literally all three of my teammates aren't even touching gens, they're all working on challenges. Totems, chests, unhooks, throwing x amount of pallets in a chase, leaving people on the ground to get flashlight saves instead of getting them up, purposely blocking a person from running so they can try to get the flashlight save, ETC ETC ETC. I have had maybe 4-5 games in like 10 hours where all of my teammates are playing as usual.
So stop complaining about gen times - the tome has been a huge favor to killers because survivors in large part aren't even trying to win games anymore.

The DC penalties system has changed nothing. I played 4 game in a row and the first survivor that went down suicided on hook.
So what is changed? Nothing. Killer get less points. Survivors get a difficult game.
Pretty good job so far DEVS.
Killers are getting their BBQ stacks now. That's the only benefit to anyone. I see more killers DC now than survivors, no joke. But honestly, with the way almost every single killer tunnels above all else, why not die on first hook? I just killed myself on first hook because the killer tunneled the first person out of the game. Why waste any more of my time? IGame after game after game, the killer leaves chase with injured survivors, if they don't just facecamp, to go back and tunnel off the hook. I've literally had one game where the killer didn't camp and tunnel in probably 15 hours of playing, and they were using Devour. This game is honestly in such a sad state right now that I can't wait for this Tome to be done because then, so am I. 1,000 hours and I can't wait to stop playing.

I talked about this on another thread, but SWF is antithetical to what Dead by Daylight was originally designed to be. In the beginning, it was an asymmetrical atmospheric horror game. The point of the game was that the survivors were isolated and needed to learn to work together in order to survive the killer. It was fun and thrilling. It got your heart racing. And even when you lost, you had an incredible time filled with the occasional jump scare and plenty to talk about in the end game lobby because you couldn't communicate during the trial!
But then survivors asked for SWF. They wanted to play with their friends! Honestly, that by itself is not an issue. I would love to be running through the trial, helplessly searching for my friend, and then find them and work with them to escape. It's an amazing thrill to know your friend is out there somewhere on the map, but not know precisely where they are or what they're doing, only for you to suddenly stumble across them!
And then Discord happened. With SWF came voice chat, and that destroyed anything atmospheric or horrific about Dead by Daylight. Suddenly, friends could play together and communicate the entire time. It destroyed any sense of isolation or horror. SWF groups had the advantages of Bond, Empathy, and Deja Vu without needing to use up their perk slots. The killer couldn't sneak up on them because their teammates would always be communicating the killer's position.
The game stopped being an asymmetrical atmospheric horror game, and it became a team-based skill check and press 'W' simulator. There was no more thrill. No more horror. No more scares or surprises. Not if you wanted to play with friends.
And it's a real shame. So many players - SO MANY - play SWF these days. Solo survivor is still as fun as it ever was. Sure, the gens go by a bit quick, and I don't feel as pressured as I used to when Hex:Ruin would pop up on my screen, but it's fun. But SWF has destroyed the atmosphere and balance. SWF teams aren't afraid of the killer. When a killer plays against SWF, they are no longer the power role. The rules of the game change, and there's nothing to be afraid of except your own mistakes. The killer isn't a threat.
I like SWF in theory. I think there are tons of fun stories to be had about SWF off of voice chat. Stumbling blindly through the trial and searching for your friend. Finding them and conquering the gens together.
Now, SWF is just another game mode for team fps players.
My friends all quit (seven people) because SWF was such a miserable experience for us. Our games were always like this:
15,15,17, 5 vs level 5 killer
Literally always. We played for hours and couldn't power the gens even once. Yes, there are some SWFs of equal skill that I'm sure aren't the most fun for killers. Most people just want to play games with their friends. Their goal in life isn't to be big meanie faces to killers. It cannot be healthy for this game that it's a freaking nightmare for anyone who wants to introduce their friends to this game. I'm the last person playing this game in my group of gaming friends and I'm done after this Tome. So there ya go. There are 8 people who are done with this game because SWF so heavily favored killers it was unplayable. We can't be the only ones.

You can try but they won't look at the psn messages as part of the review. They could be faked and what not.
Sadly I think it's just something you have to accept and move on.
The best part was that when I told him he would be reported for working with the killer, he said, "You wouldn't be the first. Thats how I already know I have nothing to worry about."
This guy regularly cheats and nothing happens. Thanks, BHVR. If I weren't already done with this game after the Tome, I would be now.

The psn messages are useless since bhvr can't review them.
Unless you have a video of the player obviously working with a killer you cant do anything.
I regularly get msgs when playing killer of a dead survivor trying to get me to kill another survivor. I just ignore them but it's just part of the psn experience
I saved the video clip and have the conversation of this guy telling me he was going to cheat, among other things he had to say to me. The killer downed me and then stood above me shaking their head instead of picking me up right away and ending the game.

I mean it doesn't really do anything if you're survivor, just suicide on hook. It's really funny when I see killers go afk since they can't DC like survivors can lol.
I'm honestly now seeing more killers DC than survivors suicide on first hook. It's kinda weird. But a five minute timeout is nothing - it's a survivor's normal queue time.
I made a Wraith DC today 80 seconds into the game. The laugh was worth losing my Escape Cake, though I did wake up my dog. He wasn't thrilled with me.

I Just had one of those! Wasn't so bad actually i was clown so i could smoke them out. Hooked everyone at least twice but they were maxxed out high ranks so it was serious work to get two completly sacrificed.
Still fun, i wonder how they felt getting found and hooked all the time
They were probably shocked. The good thing about finding Claudettes is that they're almost always garbage at chase because they rely entirely on being invisible.
-
I mean, the crow isn't really a penalty. It's only when you have three crows that the killer gets the noise notification. The killer has to be close to hear the 1-2 crows circling. It's been my experience that killers entirely ignore the Claudettes that go into the locker at the start of the game and never leave, even with the three crow noise notification.
You can report the killers though, for what good that does, for being AFK.

I've been getting my rank 17 killer vs red and purple SWF's on PS4. It's not fair by any stretch so I don't let it bother me. There's nothing I can do with that matchmaking. I just try to make smart plays, but I don't need kills to have fun playing this game anyway. If it's three Claudettes on Sanctum of Wrath though, I don't even bother. I just want the game done as quickly as possible so I can get into a game where I might have a chance.

I'd love to be at 53. I just barely scraped 40 today and I've been playing almost daily. It feels like homework now. I will be taking a long break if not parting ways entirely. I don't think the devs will scrap the tome and it affects play, at least on the survivor side, too negatively for me to keep up. Even if I don't buy the rift, I'll be in games where people are only trying to do objectives. I'm very done with that.

There are way too many survivor challenges in each level instead of there being an even mix, especially since the survivor ques are longer now
80% of the people playing the game are survivors. Survivors queues have always been longer for me. Maybe there should have been two different sets of challenges. I know some of my frustration comes from trying to play killer just for the challenges, and not only being inexperienced, having weaker perks and almost no add ons, but being matched against red and purple rank SWFs against my level 17 killer. There's just nothing enjoyable about it.

There is like no way to beat them it's just find a survivor let them loop you eventually get them down maybe pick them up hook them they get off the hook get them again and get decisive or something like that the normal survivor or perks or gen speed something like that needs to be dealt with until then I'll complain until someone fixes it or just quit in general you make up your mind DEVS fix it or lose 75% of your players just sayin
Ghostface is the most boring killer in the game and has single handedly caused me to stop playing this game for weeks at a time, so if you need to take a break, I support you.

i think the ruin nerf was a bad idea. i don't think it was too strong at all, they broke something that wasn't broken. i guess i just had a different experiences than you. most of the time, the games i was in, the survivors would just do gens with the ruin and power through them. i found that it was quicker to do a gen than waste time looking for it and usually someone else would find it fairly quickly.
you say that no one considered the affect ruin had on all skill levels, but don't forget, at some point EVERYONE was new to ruin and no one was good at it when they first started the game. survivors started getting better at it the more they played. its like anything, the more you practice the better you get so why have they decided to nerf it now?
in my opinion, ruin wasn't that common in the lower ranks anyway. i just feel like the devs have used that as an excuse. next thing you know, they will remove all gen skill checks because rank 20's can't hit them.
my point is everyone has been in the same situation before so why does it all of a sudden matter now? or is it because the matchmaking system is changing and the lower ranks have no chance against the higher ranks who actually use the ruin. fyi, the lower ranks don't tend to have a chance against the higher ranks anyway. even with the broken matchmaking now the lower rank killers i've been matched with have all given up or can't even hook someone. its not their fault and it feels bad. the nerf to ruin makes it worse for them. but thats just my opinion, i know a lot of people won't agree with me.
I did not say that no one considered the affect that ruin had on all skill levels. I think the people screaming about how the Ruin change destroyed the game for them and are threatening to quit are not considering all skill levels and platforms. One perk shouldn't all but guarantee a 4k, and that's what Ruin did on console unless it was cleansed quickly. I never complained about Ruin - I decided to run Small Game and prioritize totems because it was nearly impossible to win a game without cleansing. I can't tell you how many games I single handedly have done all five totems and have taken NOED out of play too. But yeah, without a doubt, I think Ruin was too strong on console.
I am not kidding. In more than 1,000 hours in this game, there have only ever been 2-3 games where Ruin wasn't cleansed and all survivors made it out. You don't think that's insanely strong? Do you play on PC? Do you have any idea how difficult it is for the average player to hit great skill checks on console?

People are complaining not about ruin nerf itself but about it's a 100% big buff for survivors. Devs should have given some buffs for killers instead of ruin and considered why killers had used it at 80% red ranks. "Corrupt" is a good perk but it doesn't mean all killers can use the perk because Pig is copyrighted killer. Moreover, ruin has worked well as slowdown perk even if 60 sec life.
Corrupt is a Plague perk. Pop is a Clown perk. Neither are copyrighted killers.

For me it's Quentin... I don't know, I just don't like that character, and as killer, a P3 Quentin are usually the toughest survivors I've played against.
Ironically, Quentins are the most selfish players I come across. I don't know what it is, but yikes. My personal least favorite though is Claudette. It's just completely absurd how hard she is to see. I leave lobbies if there is more than one, and some times I won't play with even one. I'm not a killer main, I'm talking about as another survivor. It's absolutely ridiculous the advantage they have, and it's kinda funny how bad they are at chase because they rely entirely on being hidden. I've literally come across 2-3 good Claudettes in more than 1000 hours of playing this game.

Can someone please explain something to me.
maybe i just don't play killer enough to understand the reasoning behind this but since the matchmaking has been broken and i'm getting matched with lower rank killers and all i'm seeing is NOED on killers that have the ability to insta down survivors already. don't get me wrong, if you want to use NOED then by all means but on a killer that can insta down you? eg billy, bubba, ghost face, myers.
i just don't get it. it seems like a wast of a perk slot. ok maybe ghost face and myers you have to actually stalk to get your insta down but billy and bubba?
usually i will cleanse totems when i see them but if you can't get them all for some reason or even if you do get them all, when you get to the score screen and see that the killer had noed, i'm just like, what?
I use it on Miguel. I am a noob killer, but I've been having so much fun with it. Miguel can't necessarily choose when he's going to go into tier 3. Yes you can save it just before it goes into tier 3 and pop it when you're close to someone, but when I'm matched against other noobs, they spend the entire time Urban Evading with Spine Chill (usually as a Claudette, of course) so I have a hard time finding them. The best part though is that not only am I faster with NOED, but they all think they're safe if I'm not in tier 3. Tea bagging doesn't bother me at all, it genuinely makes me laugh, so when some moron is tea bagging me and they think they're gonna get smacked once and then run out, it's pretty satisfying. I've had so many kills late game because no one expects it on a Myers who isn't in tier 3 for some reason.

Welp. Being locked out of a game because of a game crash doesn't feel very nice. This ended my session for the night.
How about adjusting the values until you sort the bugs? I'm all for the DC bans, but we want to target the right crowd, no?
Five minutes is a quick survivor queue time for me. I don't think the bans are a good idea. Less people will be playing. Survivors can and will just die on first hook. I did it last game after clearing a pallet and taking a step and then getting downed from the other side. I'm just not wasting my time in that game. Thanks, dedicated servers! Killers are DCing more than survivors now. I mean, killers always DCed, but 4 out of the last 5 times someone has DC'ed, it was the killer. I had 3 killers DC in 5 games yesterday. The only survivor to DC for me recently was in a game where the killer slugged at 5 gens. I don't blame them, it was very boring.

I love it, DCing is so rare atm
No joke, 4 out of the last 5 DC's I've seen have been from the killer. It's rare on the survivor side now and about the same for killers, I'd say. Survivors just kill themselves on the first hook which makes the game pretty crap for everyone else. It's no different except less people are playing because people still DC, they just have to sit in timeout.

@Thatbrownmonster said:
This is a sincere question because I wonder how this game is going to live when killers get miss threated to a point where playing killer makes you more frustrated then happy
To point out some issues
Grab animation hasn't been fixed and it's worse then ever
Totem spawns hasn't been changed on 60% of the maps
Totems can still spawn on line of sight of generators
Swfs are still a thing and there is no real reason any killer would want to go against one
Gens are getting done too quickly, you can have the shortest chase in your life and when you reach the hook you'll sill be able to lose 3 generators
Ds is still a dominating perk, where survivors are imune to do whatever they want for 1 minute
Matchmaking is broken, and now it will be hidden to "solve" this issue
This are issues out of the top of my head, and it shouldn't be this easy to come up with issues in the game. If all of the killer community leaves the game, survivors won't have anyone to play against, meaning the game will die. There clearly is a survivor bias when a killer bug gets untouched for soo long, while a survivor bug gets fixed within 2 weeks.
Hell when the wake up perk bug was happening no one got banned and nothing got done regarding that, but with the legion bug players would actually get banned
I just want to enjoy playing killer and survivor, because at this point I might as well become a survivor main since thats where all the focus is going
If you aren't having fun, quit playing. For real. This isn't salty. Stop doing something you don't like doing just because you've invested time in it.

Before you say “ just git gud apply pressure” I’m not here to complain about ruin, I’m here to complain about what’s it’s done to the killer player base. A good amount of the killer player base has quit due to this change, leading to longer survivor q times and matchmaking inequalities. It’s a cancer effect, it’s sad but it’s the truth we can all say that people who left because of ruin are cry babies but that’s not true in my opinion. There’s nothing wrong in dropping a game that doesn’t entertain you anymore, and this new mmr has me even more concerned I feel like they are gonna just turn off matchmaking and just lump survivors and killers in the same match without any kind of matchmaking at all as a cover up....
I've always thought Pop and Corrupt were better anyway. I run Small Game and would usually cleanse the totem at most like 60 seconds into the game, if not immediately. I think the killers I'm going against now are better, to be honest. Ruin was way too strong on console. I realize it might have just slowed the game down on PC, but it was an almost guaranteed 4k on console if not cleansed. I have more than 1000 hours in this game and truly, I've had 2-3 games ever where everyone made it out while Ruin was still up. Does that seem right to you? I get why killers are upset, but I don't think people considered the affect Ruin had on all skill levels and all platforms.

A bit of a weird rant after having played survivor where i was mostly unseen.
I think its sad that this game gives more credit to people who get chased, downed, survives, chases some more, than people who entirely avoid being attacked to begin with.
i could go through an entire game not being seen, working on gens here and there, doing totems, and it still wouldnt net me more than if i had been the distraction, made unsafe hooks with DS and BT. Dont get me wrong, rescuing survivors is as important, if not more, than doing a generator.
I think its sad, because my vision of what this game SHOULD be, would be survivors being stealthy, chased for a small amount of time and more or less hooked afterwards. Sure you should be able to run, but no way did i ever think that looping and running from pallet drop to palletdrop would be the way i wanted this game going down (not that it was ever different, but before i bought it years ago). being actually able to be chased for literal minutes, is not my vision of this game.
What we have is a gameplay that gives more points when you are being frisky with the loops and chased down, protection hits etc. Basically the guy sitting behind not distracting the killer only doing gens and totems, gets less points, if the distraction guys do their job well.
Being completely unseen, or more or less unseen, doesnt reward you at all. to heal and get points, you gotta get hit. a lot of BPs comes from actually being "bad" at hiding and being in the killers face or within his terror radius.
im not bringing any suggestions because i dont know how that would work. i would just like to see a thicker mist maybe for easier stealth play, but making it easier for the killer to actually down survivors if they are actually caught. the fact you can just swarm a hook to get the guy down is also weird. why dont all killers have a cleave to avoid that?
What do we do about campers then? i have no idea. those were just my two cents really. im just spewing out whats in my brain, but it always bothered me a bit that when im being a good survivor not being attacked, staying hidden doing gens and totems not being hooked etc, then im often not rewarded very well. many perks would have to change tho, so killers cant just find people and insta gib them.
Is this a joke? Being good at DBD as a survivor is being good at chase, period. It's so boring as both a survivor and killer when survivors do nothing but Urban Evade and rely on Spine Chill. Why should someone be rewarded for being alerted that the killer is coming, and then Blendetting away from the gen, only to go right back as soon as it's safe? I've been playing a lot of killer lately for the challenges and I'm a level 17 because I'm a survivor main. It's so so go boring that all anyone does is hide. Dear god, why even play the game?
When I first started playing this game, I got tired of how much I was getting destroyed by killers. It occurred to me I could start playing Claudette and just rely on stealth and being invisible, but I would not ever get good at the game if all I did was hide. So guess what, I never mained Claudette, and I'm good at being chased. In most cases, my Claudette teammates go down almost instantly because they have no idea how to be chased once they're found. And it puts even more pressure on everyone else not playing Claudette and playing a stealth style because they're the only ones the killers can actually be found. So no, no one should be rewarded for making this game worse.

Well I'm not being nice. I'm not farming or making survivors think I wont hook them. I'm still playing the game normally, I'm just not doing anything toxic or super sweaty, yet they still try to do gens as fast as possible which isn't a good idea if you think the killer has noed.
But there you go. You aren't being nice, why should we? It's the killers job to stop us from doing gens.
It's been my experience that hardly anyone does totems and they just rely on math. They think they only have a 25% chance of being the unlucky survivor who goes down, NOED. The rest leave and don't feel guilty. There's NOED, after all. I personally have always run Small Game and done totems because I know my teammates are usually too selfish to help me, and I think NOED rewards bad killers. Can't tell you how many times I've died in a game after doing four totems and being touched once the entire game. It happened the last time I played, in fact.
-
I used to bring Streamers as a survivor and I got tired of the amount of times the killer would bring and use an ebony mori as soon as possible. I actively avoid them in the web now. It's been my experience that killers DO play even sweatier when they bring them. I always figured they always have the chance for double bloodpoints with BBQ, so who cares about the survivors?
And twice in two days, I've had killers who fake the meme'ing or farming or whatever you want to call it. I'm guessing it's for the sacrifices during the EGC challenge and they feel the only way they can do it is to trick people. I had a feeling the second time that's what the killer was doing and was far away from her by the time the last gen popped. What do you know, she had NOED and all of the sudden wasn't so nice anymore. One teammate left immediately and I didn't have time to cleanse RUIN and make the saves. Everyone would have been out easily if they had just played normally. So. We have trust issues.

Exactly, it is because of the challenge. But most people who play regularly should be done with Rift 3 about now. Even if players wanted to bring a key to each match they are actually quite rare on bloodwebs. You would very quickly run out of them. I think it would be pretty hilarious to see how many keys were lost this last month compared to average. I guarantee it's at least 10 times higher than normal. And you know what? It was still rare to see survivors escape my matches with keys. I can only recall like 2 games out of all the ones I played. Here is the flip side to all of this. Players trying to use their keys to escape to complete the rift challenge are generally screwing over their team mates pretty hard. I had a match where it was pretty obvious that one survivor wasn't helping his team at all. He could have easily rescued a couple of the survivors because I wasn't camping at all. I found him hiding in a locker in the basement. Even with all the keys it is actually easier to win as a killer!
It took me more than 15 hours to get that hatch challenge done. I'd try for hours and then do something else, and try again, and then do something else. My problem was that I tried to play normally while game after game, people went in with no intention of actually playing. Combine that with people who just died on first hook, a lot of games were two v one, basically. So I bet a lot of people are still working on it.

I haven't seen so many people with keys until now. People just bring 2 keys during a match, it isn't over-blown! I know it's because of the challenge. I just got used to it but there also will be that one survivor who will teabag near the hatch that will ruin my mood when I'm already frustrated.
I've been playing more killer than survivor lately and I don't get why tea bagging bothers killers so much. It genuinely makes me laugh at how stupid it is. I know the survivors are doing it to make me mad and it just doesn't? Stop letting it bother you! It's what we little shithead survivors want!

It's mind boggling that you don't think EGC does enough to help killers. Open the gate yourself if it's such a problem.

I can't comment in great detail at the moment, but the stats are showing that the DC rate is noticably down from where it was before the penalties were restored.
As with everything in statistics, personal experience doesn't indicate how the system works as a whole due to a lot of issues, one of which is that humans are desperately terrible at monitoring probabilistic occurances in their lives. I have this problem myself; this is in no way intended as an insult or an accusation of any kind. I was under the impression that there are a lot of key escapes. Checked the stats on that... no. There are in fact very few key escapes overall. :)
Yeah I'm just seeing way more people die on first hook and then second hook when they're immediately tunneled (which is most games). I don't blame them. And weirdly, now more killers are DCing for me. I still saw a good amount of survivors DCing when the penalty went into play. Could have been just to see how long it was though.

I would like to hear the stats on key escapes. I'm sure it is low but I'd like to see how over-blown some of the killers make it sound. I'm pretty sure it is well under 5% of games that have key escapes.
Agreed. I'm sure it's frustrating but it's incredibly rare.

I 100% feel that if you finish every challenge on all 4 tome levels then you should go to tier 70. That being said, I absolutely despise the challenges that require so many emblems of a certain rarity whether it be a specific category or not. I hate them. I would much much prefer it be bloodpoint based instead of emblem based.
Yeah I think it's insane that doing all the challenges doesn't get you closer to tier 70. I've been playing almost daily and am about to hit level 39, with most challenges done. It's just insane that this is a full time job. I will not be spending more money on this, so all it does is discourages me from buying the next. With the way everyone plays differently now just to get the challenges done, I'm taking a long break if not permanently leaving this game after more than 1,000 hour in it.

I cleared the tome and rift to 70 last time
ive done maybe 2 challenges this time due to the grind/burnout/design choices i hate being added
Yeah I hit level 70 last time too. The burnout is real.

i get that. depends on how often you play, you can usually reach tier 70 without doing all the challenges anyway. i know its harder from some people though not everyone spends a lot of time on the game.
I got to level 70 last time without doing all the challenges but I just feel for the amount of time I'm playing this game every day, I should be farther along. All these battle passes in every game is a full time job if you want everything out of them. Oh well. I'll get there eventually. I was just wondering how everyone else was doing.

i did all the challenges in the first Tome but this time around, i've only done the survivor challenges. i might do some of the killer ones but any that require being toxic or playing like an arsehole i'll be leaving. to me its not really worth it and it doesnt really make a difference to me or not if i don't get ALL challenges done.
I want to get the full cells out of it so I can buy the next one without spending more real world money. After I take a very long break from this game.

I always like when killers use Iron Maiden. I usually don't have time to find a locker to avoid BBQ even if I want to, and it's rare that I try. I love when the moron Claudette teammates don't know what's going on and they spend the entire game going into lockers and screaming. It's literally always the Claudettes.
-
Almost every killer tunnels above all else. It's literally game after game after game. Killrs leave chase of an injured survivor to go back to the hook and tunnel. Why should a survivor be punished for crap teammates? Can't tell you how many times I've died on my first hook with teammates not even trying to save me. The amount of times someone uses Deliverance and DS are rare. I'm sure it's frustrating that tunnel didn't pay off, but it's still incredibly rare.

I got about 40 hours into the game, im doing pretty well as a killer (Rank 5) and survivor (Rank 8) having fun but after every game the chat is pure toxic spew. If I am a killer its "Oh, you use these perks you're #########?" "You're a tunneler, you are just bad you gotta go for the same person" It's like, if I spot them after they are rescued am I suppose to go.. ok I downed him before better leave him alone and go look for someone else. If I am a survivor I get called back because I loop a killer for a long time. I have ran across way more super toxic people than I have people who just say nothing.
I have played a lot of games in my time, lots of toxic people but this game takes the cake by far. This game should just remove the chat at the end of the game completely and let the angry children punch a wall or something.
Wait til you have 1000+ hours on console and people go out of their way to spam messages while you're still in game against their buddies. Or you get hate messages from other survivors for not saving someone because you spent 15 hours already trying to do the damn hatch challenge and you just want it done. You're not wrong, this community is the nastiest I've ever seen. Nothing comes close.
-
That's not even bad. I'm regularly matched with red and purple survivors as a rank 17 killer.

This topic has been brought up many many times. But it's a staple survivor perk so they won't touch it for at least another 2 years. It's like turning off aim assist in a FPS. If they did that soooo many people would suddenly suck and they'll stop playing. BHVR won't risk losing 4/5's of their customers.
As long as killers tunnel above all else, I'm going to run DS. So will any survivor with a braincell. Game after game after game, if killers don't just camp, they leave chases with injured survivors to go back to tunnel the person who just got unhooked. It's obnoxious and entirely predictable and it's constant. It's amazing you think that making the game worse for 80% of the people who play it is a bad thing.
-
I hate all the indoor maps. Claudettes are invisible on the Game and everyone else gets screwed. Most survivors have no idea how to find gens and killers have a huge advantage with all the time wasted. It boggles the mind when I go down on any indoor map and my teammates are Urban Evading on a completely different floor. Holy crap. And I just don't like the look of them.

Im on PS4 - Its very rare that a killer would send me a message but these survivor players..
I think the reason why so many toxic messages come from the survivor side is because they are playing in the weak role and they want to have the power.
The game doesnt go in their favour due to reasons so then the crazy behaviour starts.
The pathetic/most funny toxic messages are the ones they send to you in a friend request xD
Keep playing the game and ignore the stupid people ;)
It could be that there's nothing a survivor can do that can take away the killer's ability to play the game. Killers can decide to camp, tunnel, and slug, and let's be honest, most of them do all of those things these days, and the game is over for that survivor or survivors.
I can't tell you how often a killer will leave chase of an injured person to go straight back to the hook to tunnel, if they even leave at all. Or how often I make a save and the killer walks by me to tunnel the person I'm trying to protect. Or maybe I unhook a Meg and she goes left, I go right, the killer has a 50-50 chance of chasing the person who was just unhooked, see it's me, and immediately leaves to go tunnel the Meg I just saved. All that combined with the fact that our wait times are much longer, it's incredible frustrating that killers choose to do this things ALL THE TIME.
That being said, no, no one should send nasty messages. I get nasty messages from other survivors, for frick's sake. But if I played on PC, I'd just not read the chat. I can turn off messages from strangers very easily when I play DBD. It boggles my mind that so many PC players complain about the chat when they can just leave.
-
Yeah it seems to me like she's still a strong killer, it's just possible for her to be countered now. Most survivors are idiots and have no clue how to play against her. I'm kinda sad because I always thought she was fun to go against and you never see her anymore. At least this nightmare of a tome has brought her back into play.
-
Yeah I never look for the hatch since the EGC change. My last teammate is undoubtably camping it while I try to finish gens, so I know the killer knows where it is. Most of the time, I'm right, and it's closed as soon as the last teammate dies. I just wait near a gate and hope I get lucky. There's really nothing else you can do.

@Alphaphalt said:
Seriously, we had this issue in the last Tome where it was "sacrifice 2 in one game during EGC" and everyone complained because it's undoable under normal gameplay circumstances unless you farm. It's the same with this. Every single game you have to hard throw to get to all gens done, then go open a door giving all 4 survivors time to leave through the other one and pick up any slugs you have, etc.
Already had to do it seven times so far, and everytime is worse than the last.
I'm just not even trying to do a lot of the challenges this time around. It sucks because I'm way more than halfway done with all challenges and just hit level 35 today. Knowing that the challenges are only going to be harder in the next level, that's very discouraging. It took me about 20 hours combined to get the open the hatch twice and escape with jane and a stun challenges done. So much is luck or screwing your teammates and then also getting lucky. It's just not fun and it's honestly ruined the game for me as a survivor. I think the challenges actually help killers because survivors play like morons just to get them done.

It's what they say after the game. The non-stop complaining about EVERYTHING.
Too many survivors lack game awareness. They lack the ability to see that the killer has no option but to do some of the things they do. Like 99% of the time I do something scummy it's because I was forced to do it. I don't want to play scummy, I will outright ignore survivors I've hooked already if I'm not forced to go after them. But I will also do what I have to do to win. I'm not just going to be a pushover for them to bully.
Most of the time I get angry at the game, not the player. BS hits through pallets. Getting a skill check right when you let go of the gen. I'm not blaming the killer if I die. Only if they play excessively scummy when it's not necessary do I get a little annoying with the player. But even then, I never send nasty messages. I just vent by saying "this guys sucks, F him" to myself and my friends, then move on.
Devs really REALLY need to do something about the way survivors treat killers. I main survivor, I know how it feels. Trust me. But at the same time I rarely get mad at the killer for doing what they do because I understand they HAVE TO do that. It sucks when it happens, but majority of the time the survivors brought it on themselves.
Is there a way that you can just leave the game and not read the in game chat?
