    Why..... WHY

Seeing as percentages are additive in this game, theoretically using these 2 perks should completely counter Stridor. Does anyone know whether this is the case?

Sounds are broken for most killer players right now, so Stridor is mostly useless atm.

  • @No_Cluie_Louis said:

The nurse nerf was needed and if you ask me she's still one of the strongest killers. What you on about?

She's bugged to hell and back. The devs could have put on a bandaid fix in this latest patch to remove a bug from her that they will ban players for, but they left it in. Add onto that spontaneously losing blink charges, hitbox issues, and fatigue stacking, and she's not viable at the moment.

  • It honestly just depends on your rank and game sense. If you've taken some time off, it'll probably just take time to get back into the swing of things.

There's actually a very simple answer to this. The Deathslinger was built with a new modifier in mind that allows us to easily tweak his ADS sensitivity. Meanwhile controller sensitivity is something that is grandfathered in from back in 2016. Some things like the Hillbilly's chainsaw emulate a controller for turning, and simply increasing the maximum sensitivity would mean that the Hillbilly could suddenly turns way more. In order to increase the maximum sensitivity range, we would need to go through and update anything using it to make sure that it doesn't break something.

The controller sensitivity increase is still on the way, though, and it is actively being worked on.

"...it is actively being worked on."

Like the Wraith flashlight bug. Or the Nurse blink bugs. Or sound bugs. Or window collision bugs. Or PGTW and Surge. Or Ghostface's reveal mechanic. Or registering grabs. Or superspeed Nurse. Or infinite flashlight blinds. Or survivors still losing items during escape. Or matchmaking.

    And that's a short list.

The idea that controller sensitivity is being worked on any more than any other long outstanding issue isn't believable.

    There's a credibility issue here.

I'm not. You are. Creating a thread about a 4k (like nobody 4ks in this game and you're somehow special) using an insta down killer with 2 insta down perks, turning addons, slugging and saying the game is ez.

Jeez... are you memeing or something?

No, Reborn is just like that.

There are two? Lets make more? We can easily make it happen. But you that afraid to face a killer in survivor sided game 😄

Why would anyone be afraid of killer if they're in a group of decent survivors with meta perks?

BHVR have been pulling the killers' teeth for a while now.

How to easily make someone upset: promise them a cool thing and break it in their face.

Like a hook... BHVR's getting poetic on us.

  • I was under the impression that the only flip phones with internet capability were the Galaxy Z and the Motorola Razr... And I don't think everyone is going to be spending $900 and $1500, respectively, on flip phones...

  • Yup. Me again.

Honestly, just go play killer for a day. Get your rank up out of brown and into purple/green. Then come back and say that the game isn't survivor-sided with a straight face.

4ked against 3 man swf. All swf members have over 1 000 hours and there s one solo player with 150h.

They struggled to fix 2 gens by the way thanks to "nerfed" ruin.

But i guess those survivors just did some mistakes which led them to total destruction.

Oh, Reborn. Your vacuous commentary always makes me laugh.

Yes. Apparently, the survivors were that bad, made enough mistakes, and didn't stay on gens enough to escape. They were most likely too altruistic and didn't know how to work around a Billy with Discordance.

When survivors do poorly, they tend to lose. When survivors do okay, they tend to win.

When killers do okay, they tend to lose. When killers perform perfectly, they only win if the survivors play perfectly.

    Play killer. Educate yourself.

  • The rework did nothing. They removed the ability to break bear traps, so there was no point to keep it was it was. But equally, there's no point to use it now. Infectious fright and BBQ&C achieve the same effect with more utility throughout the entirety of the match.

It's just another wasted perk slot.

  • They didn't. Doubt they will. You just got lucky, I guess.

  • Apparently, killers just need to let those two gens go because the devs don't care about killer agency.

  • I've always liked the idea of starting with the generators locked up.

Each survivor starts with a gen key. It takes 15 seconds to unlock a generator. After unlocking, a generator can be repaired. Once a gen is repaired, it drops an additional gen key for every survivor on the gen when it pops. Then, those survivors can go and unlock more gens.

It forces more teamwork and promotes protecting key carrying survivors by taking aggro while slowing down the early game just a bit.

Just pressure gens, they say. If survivors can get to and repair a gen in the first 27 seconds of the game, then the game is unbalanced.

This has been happening for 4 years, and the game is significantly easier for killers than it was 4 years ago and killers are still here, idk how many hours you've had but if this is your first game getting "4-man swfd" do you not think you're overreacting?

Not my first time, SenzuDuck. You seem to take issue with me every time I have something to say in the forums. You're always white knighting for Survivor mains and setting your sights on Killer mains. This was not the first. It was the worst. I was playing as Pig, so it was going to be a suboptimal game to begin with, but stealth became an impossibility. The only time that crouching was a viable option was mindgaming palettes.

It was a shitshow, and I'm tired of giving these devs my money. They only listen to money, and with survivors as 80% of their player base, they'll never listen to killers. How long has Nurse been bugged? How long have Killer sounds been bugged? What about Wraith and flashlight interaction? Or permanent flashlight effects on killers?

But the moment that survivors start to encounter survivor-specific bugs or players can't make transactions, the devs are all over it.

SWF is toxic to the community without proper balancing, but they're never going to balance it because they don't care about anyone except the dedicated survivor base who feeds them with more and more cash.

I had one of the worst, most toxic, abusive matches of my life, and it's the straw that broke the camel's back.

  • @minehot said:

I had moments when the killer accused me of being in SWF. When some killer's games doesn't go well for them, they always boil down to 'I got outplayed by SWF' when thats not always the case. Players that are soloq and are overly alturisting and look over their teammates exist as well.

True. But like I said, they didn't deny it in end game chat. In fact, they practically confirmed it. And they kept picking one another up (running from across the map to do so) as soon as I was in another chase. They knew precisely where every other survivor was at all times without any aura reading perks. It was all second chance perks and two toolboxes that they used to sabo multiple hooks upon pickup (not including the Breakout Bill).

This game is 4 years old. I think the 'be nice' period is long over and the 'get your sht together period' has begun. Reasonably so, in my opinion. People's patience is limited.

True. The devs need to get their ######### together before there player base starts to nosedive.

  • The matchmaking will never be fixed unless SWF is taken into account. If you're playing SWF, you should be playing against a killer whose level is 20% higher than yours, at least.

  • He's boring to survivors because they can't be bothered to keep track of all of that, so they're sacrificed more often than not.

Killers are trying to look like victims again.

Already explained that they practically admitted it in post chat while flaming. Keep up.

I know survivor mains are dense enough to need crutches in game, but I didn't realize y'all needed hand holding on the forums, too

  • Rank 10 against 2 3s and 2 13s.

I only play on the weekends because I have life during the week. And even then, I don't always have time to play on the weekends.

And when I said, "I hate SWF" in chat, the response was, "So what?" And "too bad". And "cry more".

This happens, and it's driving killers away.

As if Killers haven't been saying the same thing for weeks as survivor queue times have gotten longer and longer. The devs just need to do a map overhaul and satisfy everyone. Good survivors will still be good, and good Killers won't have to be sweaty.

The reason most killers of this forum struggle is quite simply lack of skill. Easily 99% of all survivors can be downed in a few seconds yet half this forum acts like everyone was a 5 gen looper. I don't support bad killers who want the devs to balance around 4ks without skills. Either get better at the game or don't expect to 4k. Simple as.

You haven't been paying attention to high tier killer players who make videos about this have you? You aren't looking at the numbers... Are you really so deluded that you think a team of survivors who play perfectly against a killer who plays perfectly will lose? The devs have placed an entire hand on the scale in the survivors' favor. If survivors play optimally, they will always win. Always.

Getting a 4k as a killer is not easy against good survivors; it's nigh impossible against competitive SWF. You're obviously either playing not on PC or not on the NA servers to be getting 4ks in 2 minutes. Those are just silly numbers.

  • @NullEXE said:

Plague. I hate vomit horror, and that's all she is. In addition she's boring to play against, incredibly easy to counter, and then if it's a toxic killer they are running Thanatophobia or Dying Light, and that just drags the boring game even longer.

So if you play plague and see me in lobby, take NOED because i'm not going to touch a single chest or totem, just to get those gens done and gtfo faster. I'm not going to suicide, but I am going to try and get out as fast as humanly possible.

Imagine thinking that Thanatophobia and Dying Light are toxic as the only two true gen slowdown perks.

I can post 2 minute 4ks at red ranks what about you?

Wow. So, instead of arguing the points, discussing the issues, or (God forbid) apologizing for telling a new player to quit, you start posting stats.

4ks in 2 minutes? You know what? I'm impressed. Potato survivors like that are rare.

  • @NullEXE said:

It is unsportsman behavior, but not bannable.

Your fun in the game doesn't matter so long as the survivors have fun.

Find ways to rub it into survivors when you beat them. Like starting freddy's snare animation repeatedly, or doctor's shock animation. Also smacking survivors on the hook a few times, reving your chainsaw, etc. Honestly by the end of the day, the dev's don't care if you have fun so make your own fun while you can before they remove your ability to.

This. The devs would just as quickly make killers into bots than improve the killer experience.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1115134#Comment_1115134

Please stick to COD. Playing killer is easier than it has ever been. 1-2 minute 4ks are nothing special these days considering most red ranks have as much playtime in the game as... Well... You.

Survivor main detected... You could provide constructive feedback instead of insulting a new player, you know. Or do you want DBD to die out?

They're obviously new to the game and haven't figured out how to apply the minor amount of pressure that killers have available against coordinated teams. They likely won't be able to learn until ranks are fixed. Encouraging them not to play the game is a terrible response.

  • @TAG said:

No. Them teabagging at the gates is not stopping you from forcing them out.

Cool. You can force them out, AND they can still be unsportsmanlike/toxic. A permaban is the wrong response to this, but there needs to be some form of keeping the game civil.

I just got done with a match playing against the clown killer. It's bad enough that his gas if you get hit by it slows you down, but he's so incredibly fast that I believe the only character faster than him would be the hillbilly when he's using his chainsaw Sprint... It's ridiculous. The killer while chasing after me knocked me down even though he had about 5 ft to go to round a wall and turn 180 degrees and go another five feet to hit me... Like really??? It's like trying to outrun an F1 car while riding a tricycle... If nothing else his top-end needs to be curbed.

Can we get a Clown buff, actually? Stick him on a tricycle and make him short. Boom. Viable.

    At facecamping.

Seriously BHVR, please just give kindred basekit, and let kindred trump undetectable so that if a bubba face camps they dont get an easy 3k.

All survivors start separated and all instantly start repairing, then bubba takes 40s to down one of them. He then facecamps with insidious. One of two things will happen:

    1) The survivor on hook suicides. Bubba then finds another person and facecamps them. Then they suicide and then repeat till bubba has a 4K.

    2) The hooked survivor doesnt suicide. But then one or more teammates gets off a gen to try and save. Assuming only 1 survivor gets off, the bubba then downs the second survivor and continues to facecamp. Probably 2 gens are done at this point.

A third and/or fourth survivor stops working on gens to get the downed/hooked survivors. They get killed by bubba. 4th survivor is like. oh, time to look for hatch.

    ggez.

Mostly a problem with solo queue NGL.

In all seriousness, we really should just get kindred basekit. Facecamping isnt fun for anyone.

Also rename bubba from "The Cannibal" to "The Camper"

Im joking ok? chill out... Oh, you already told me to gid gud... ok then...

    "give kindred base kit"

    Did you mean SFW?

Just because you don't like a play style doesn't mean that the killer needs a nerf. Look at how Bubba plays outside of the camper use case and tell me that he's too strong with a straight face.

And by fairer you mean matches against people below your skill level that you can stomp easily without putting in much effort? To top it off you achieve this by ruining dozens of games for people who just waited 10+ minutes to get a lobby? Great job! 🙏

I mean, if those ranks are closer to his skill level, then yes. Matchmaking is a joke, so getting balanced games is a huge relief for most killers.

  • @Mandy said:

No it's not bannable and nor should it be, the game is not over until either the survivors are dead or have left - or the EGC ends the game. As a killer you can go and hit them to end the game and tbagging will never be bannable! Unsportsmanlike Behaviour is for things like botting or lag switching. So please do not waste Support's time by reporting people for tbagging.

Lag switching and botting are unsportsmanlike...? That's using 3rd party software to gain an advantage in the game, not acting in an inappropriate or disruptive manner toward another player. Teabagging is as much unsportsmanlike conduct as is spamming M1 on a hooked survivor or flaming people in end game chat.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133853/lets-talk-swf-bash-me-if-you-want-to

My friends all quit (seven people) because SWF was such a miserable experience for us. Our games were always like this:

    15,15,17, 5 vs level 5 killer

Literally always. We played for hours and couldn't power the gens even once. Yes, there are some SWFs of equal skill that I'm sure aren't the most fun for killers. Most people just want to play games with their friends. Their goal in life isn't to be big meanie faces to killers. It cannot be healthy for this game that it's a freaking nightmare for anyone who wants to introduce their friends to this game. I'm the last person playing this game in my group of gaming friends and I'm done after this Tome. So there ya go. There are 8 people who are done with this game because SWF so heavily favored killers it was unplayable. We can't be the only ones.

I think I see your problem there... 15, 15, 17, 5. If the 15, 15, and 17 had played until they were better at the game or higher rank, then they could have later joined with the 5 and been fine. It's set up that way to force survivors to stay on the standard learning curve because SWF can provide such a strong advantage.

  • Just gonna roll my eyes and move on from this one.

  • @Happy2Heal4You said:

They can't nerf SWF for the same reason as to why they added SWF in the first place. Yes playing with your friends was demanded for by people, but that's not the only reason they added it. It was also for the reason that many players were dodging lobbies so that they can end up in the same match. By adding SWF they were able to solve the lobby dodging problem and have more people be interested in the game because they have the option to play with their friends. SWF is needed.

When I first got dead by daylight, the reason I stuck with it long enough to actually get invested into the game was due to the ability to play with my friends. If it never had that option I probably wouldn't still be playing this game. Sure SWF used by coordinated people can make them really difficult to deal with as killer, but also there are plenty of SWF squads who truly do just want to play with their friends. Making the game solo survivor only isn't going to make anything scary. I play mostly solo survivor these days and still don't get scared at anything because I 've played this game for awhile. By making it only solo they would actually just make things more frustrating if anything. Anyone who has played solo survivor for too long can understand the frustration that comes with having P3 clauds and megs as teammates with no way to communicate to them what they are doing wrong. In solo the killer isn't the scariest thing... its the survivors you are playing with.

I'm not suggesting removing it. I know that the SWF survivors are now BHVR's largest revenue stream. They'd never do that to themselves. My suggestion was to place internal flags on SWF teams that reduce the BP they receive for matches and locks their MMR from changing during matches. That way, they can't climb ranks (even invisible ones) with their team and will need to eventually play solo survivor or killer to replenish their BP.

I thought it was a reasonable solution.

  • Because hexes work differently than Exposure perks...

Yep, I feel like this game was originally made with passion and with a vision, but it was all too quickly corrupted by the sudden success and influx of cash, and now they don't know how to or don't want to stop.

And it's a shame. I remember playing earlier on before SWF and being absolutely terrified of the killer popping around the corner. Now, though, it's just... Nothing. Oh, there's the killer. Let me run him around and get hooked because I know the SWF duo on my team are coordinating and will be able to get me. No worries.
