Survivor - A killer who doesn't camp or tunnel

Killer - Survivors who don't tbag or aren't immersed P3 claudettes with all the meta perks

Why do killers have to adapt to the play style of how a survivor wants the game to be?

but the only restrictions for survivors are not t-bagging with meta perks?

    Wow.

Freddy is mostly fine. A lot of these suggestions are just way too overpowered.

Also Freddy is meant to always know where his victims are whilst they are dreaming. That’s why he can read sleeping survivors auras in DBD.

    Just no.

  • How I rank the killers in 4 tiers. Overpowered tier: Nurse Strong tier: Hillbilly Balanced/Mid tier:

There is no mid tier in DBD.

And please dont call it balanced. Because no killer is balanced properly.

You cant compare Myers with Clown, or Hag with Trapper.

    Completely different strength.

  • @Kurisataru said:

Nah it's fine. The game is about surviving with or without being a proper team player. Yeah players like that suck and I'd gladly let them die if I see them in another match with me and I don't need them. But it's not fair to remove the hatch because they choose to survive selfishly. It's part of the survival immersion.

The hatch is not a real escape.

It's something to comfort survivors who have lost the game.

There is nothing however to comfort killers which already lost the game.

It shouldn't be there or reworked, so the killer has a higher chance of winning the hatch game which is not the case.

You basically doesn't even stand a chance currently to win it against people knowing how to play.

DC every match? That's odd. I havent seen a dc in more than 1/10 in the last week or two...

    Had just 2 killers leave.

A sense of actual accomplishment when you escape. Knowing you beat the odds where 70% of the Survivor base would rather lean on their voice com crutch instead.

    This man speaks truth.

But sometimes its just riddicolous playing solo

  • Boil Over - this severely needs a glow-up. The potential is there for something much better, like ideas I have seen on here.

Hope is good where it is.

Boil Over needs a small buff.

  • Noone should be rewarded for DCs.

    Thats how DCs should work.

Literally the most perfect idea I've ever seen, now we know if someone's planning on Sandbagging (Seeing Sole Survivor and WGLF is enough to put 2 and 2 together and realize their plans), as well as helping perks like Wake Up!, We'll Make It, Plunderer's Instinct, Borrowed Time, and Ace In The Hole.

Also in Escape Menu please. :3

    No.

We need to talk about NOW so devs have time to do something else. We don't want a DS 2.0 and wait 2 years for a rework.

    I WON'T ALLOW IT.

Just after reworking DS and I thought "finally less annoying gameplay for killers" there is already another bullshit in the pipeline.

    No. F that.

There still is gen rushing, which makes the game quite unfun.

The DS change is not gonna fix toxicity.

    @xChrisx said:

Its a fair perk for the actual meta.

When they will nerf the nurse, rework legion, remove red hatchet, nerf instasaw, remove bottle oneshot, and rework the mori, to be used later the second state then i will be against this new perk

You are a bad survivor if you are whining about bottle one shots, moris or red hatchets.

    Git gud, please.

The game doesn't need any more unbalanced perks.

I hate survivors being escape greedy.

  • Because it's a game and Killers seem to be invincible.

    Michael is for sure atleast.

  • Only match DCers with other DCers for 3 rounds.

If in 3 rounds they didnt DC, they can get back to normal branch.

But like only if you dc in 10 rounds like twice.

  • A big topic is survivors hanging out after gates are open, would a simple fix be to let the killer offer themselves to the entity once the gates are open?

This actually isnt a bad idea, but it would be unfun for the survivors.

  • @JoannaVO said:

Can you explain how the game is corrupting? Or are you just giving false statements because they now force you to work for pips and the free escape grasp is gone? (DS is still powerful in my opinion but yeah)

Are you willingly ignoring what I wrote?

I made a giant post explaining what I meant.

Also I consider perk changes, mostly to tier 1 + 2 not as "buffs".

I dislike the pipping system, yes.

I want it harder and more rewarding, not easier.

It's currently not rewarding, read my post.

counter to camping and tunneling? how? oh because now d-strike only works after being unhooked just for 60 seconds? you think good survivors are gonna be caught again in those 60 seconds? if killers tunnels even with borrowed time.. why not tunneling the one with decisive strike? you just have to wait 60 sec to not get stunned :)

I wasnt only talking about recent update, again, please read my arguments before trying to counter them.

Also the DS change isn't a nerf in my consideration.

Just the way DS works has been changed and now there isn't any counter other than waiting 60 seconds after downing someone.

It's wrong to punish killers for using strategy, also considering camping and tunneling to strategy.

They should be rewarded for doing otherwise, but not punished to do so.

Killers got nothing but buffs this patch and survivors got a much needed nerf to the most OP perk in the survivors arsenal: Decisive Strike!

How in the bloody hell you STILL think killers got the blunt end of the patch stick is beyond me!

The only THINGS considered a killer buff are the perk changes which most of the time change tier 1 + 2, but NOT tier 3 which CAN'T be considered a real buff, because every good killer and survivor will have tier 3 versions of the used perks.

Even then THEY only buffed a SLUGGING PERK (WHY, why should someone use it?)

The only killer perks getting an ACTUAL buff are:

Fire Up , which still is #########.

Also Thanatophobia and Spies of the Shadows got nerfed.

So 1 buff, 2 nerfs. Equals a Nerf. (Not counting the slugging perk as nobody uses it, but slurses and slugbillys)

I dont see HOW killers got BUFFED.

I NEVER REALLY MEANT TO IMPLY THIS PATCH WAS SURVIVOR SIDED.

It's just ######### balancement, but not survivor sided.

But the cringy MLP GIF made your argument valid, of course.

Oh and if that wasn't clear, I still play survivor, but more on a daily hunting and with a friend if any are up for that.

I know how bad the game can be for survivors, especially not in a 4 swf or against a nurse.

  • You just triple posted to disrespect us for non topic related comments.

    +1 street respect

  • 2 gen rushes.

    then quit the game.

  • I wouldn't consider myself a full fledged killer main either.

I was playing survivor all day back then when my friends played the game, I know the frustration with camping, tunneling, 3 gen strats just too good.

But also learned to counter camping, even back then when unhooks were skillful plays and not the safest thing in the world, even with a hillbilly with insidious in front of the hook.

I was someone who loved the idea, to apply damage on the unhooker instead of the unhooked player, when hitting any of the two players in the unhook animation.

    But what did I get?

It now ######### negates any damage applied to the unhooked player and gives them a free sprint burst. (The game basically tells you to ######### yourself)

I actually wanted to see the game advance in terms of fun and fair gameplay, but everything which got patched, made it more #########.

The deep wound status effect is a joke, a wound doesn't stop killing you when you are chased by a killer.

Especially with moonwalking/on the ground looking killers. (Whose idea was it to integrate this stupid deep wound status effect bullcrap?)

That it affects borrowed time made me pissed off even more back in the days.

I adored the changes to pallet looping, but why did they add a fast throw animation for pallets when standing still, isn't that the most unskillful play you can make?

To stand still at a pallet waiting for the killer to come and then throw it down.

Dev team thinks "Let's encourage it."

    Then the vaulting speed changes.

    It killed whole map (pools).

Haddonfield, Lerys and Preschool are a broken mess nowadays.

(They were already before the patch, but now even ######### more)

Yet, no changes to these ######### up maps in the patch notes.

If you have balanced landing, you can infinite every killer not being the nurse at every haddon field house.

    How is this balanced?

How is the fact balanced, you can end a game with ruin active in under 5 minutes?

(Yeah, it happened a lot of times, when I played killer and NO I am not a blind moron)

How is it balanced, perks like Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Self Care, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time (dont get me wrong, I love borrowed time, but at its current state, its op as hell, it should be a perk to verse facecamping/camping, not to make EVERY unhook super safe) and Adrenaline still exist in it's base form or stronger than ever before?

I mean, imagine killers without NOED and Ruin.

These are two of the most strongest killer perks.

These two are considered base kit for every killer and can both be destroyed within seconds, making every round to a gamble game of getting even one-two kill(s).

I know there are a lot of ######### survivors out there, which make the DbD community and Devs think, killer gameplay is fine and balanced, while it is not.

But why is rank 1 full of morons? (The true skill is not FOUND at rank 1, TRUST ME)

Becuase players aren't rewarded for skill, they are rewarded for completing actions and chase/being chased. (It SHOULD never be in the desire of a survivor TO GET CHASED)

######### reward killers for KILLING or HOOKING and reward survivors for GUESS WHAT, SURVIVING.

An escape should be worth SOMETHING, it should be well deserved and not EXPECTED.

    Just like A KILL.

The scoring for survivors is actually OK (not really), not good, but it's okay.

But the scoring for killers is based around making yourself a fool for a bunch of greedy swf ######### so they have fun.

At the end of the round, it may say, "You won", but it just doesn't feel like it and it ain't like this.

This game is a mess, it always was. But back in the day, it atleast wasn't so obvious the game wants to mentally break you down.

...But the devs kept promising to improve the game, but all they do is give survivors more second chances and rob the killers their strength once and for all. If you dont know how to balance a game properly, GET PEOPLE ON BOARD WHO DO IT AND HAVE FUN PLAYING THE GAME, COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMMUNITY AND STOP IGNORING EVERYTHING.

The only two good killers are nurse and hillbilly.

So you have a killer which is played by looking at the ground for 50% of the match, being slow as ######### and grunting all the time.

And you have the good old billy which is played by crusing around the map to find a survivor and hope there ain't any pallets near.

Both killers are so ######### unfun, I can't even express how much I hate playing them.

I dont fell like a killer, I feel like a single mom who lost 4 of their kids in the mall.

I still play hillbilly and nurse though, just because the game FORCES me to.

(Don't get me wrong, billy can be fun, but the principle of chainsawing from gen to gen in order to find a survivor is not fun for the survivors and NOT fun for most of the killer players.)

This is what I meant, when I say the game is patched to death.

(I only listed what is wrong with killer, the list goes on with my survivor complains which are also a long list...)

  • @Science_Guy said:

"Don't even think about balancing the second chance perks of survivors"

In the same patch DS got gutted, this guy with the jokes.

    DS is gutted?

It's just another counter to camping and tunneling which is the only power a low tier killer has over the survivors.

I'm talking about the perks letting you sprint away with no skill involved.

If killers had a sprint burst perk, imagine the outcry.

  • Because of overpowered survivors?

  • Changes to gen rushing for all survivors and then we can talk about killer balance, lol

  • Everyone has it who is not playing top tier killers.

  • THE BIGGEST CRUTCH IN THE GAME. Instadown rewards killers for not doing their job.

You cannot protect all the gens, just like you cant protect totems, if 4 survivors are physically there to do them.

Its physically impossible to be everywhere.

While doing all totems is possible, especially with only one killer to haunt survivors away.

NOED is a crutch perk, you are right.

It should be built in in the game and not in a perk.

Doing 5 gens within 3-5 minutes is perfectly do-able, the only pressure the killer has, is the fear of NOED and the insta downs from NOED.

2 extra minutes for the killer to actually do something, when the totem(s) needs to be cleansed.

But if there were no adrenaline, no self care and no exhaustion perks, the removal of NOED would be okay for me.

But as long as survivors have extremely overpowered second chance perks, NOED is needed to counter gen rush.

NOED doesnt even come near to the power of self care or sprint burst, by the way.

But now real talk, NOED on Nurse should not work.

It should deactivate inside the power of killers, just like it is done for Legion.

  • People quit because of a killer they cant bully without gen rushing.

But players werent quitting all the years of cyber bullying against killers, but as soon one survivor is being harmed and not granted their undeserved survive, the players riot.

What an amazing agenda the DBD community has built up, congrats.

Legion ist not overpowered, he is not fun to play against, just like freddy, but he is not strong, not at all.

  • Keys are like Moris.

  • I'm tired of people hating on legion, and encouraging people to d/c against him. So i'm going to point out why all your arguments for this are invalid.

The nurse is incredibly hard to play, far more hard than legion.

Far more. Who compares both with each other?

Legion is an annoying weak killer, anyone who says different, didnt play the game enough.

  • @Hoodied said:

@Master same here, it was one of the worst perks, and it got nerfed just like freddy, but they buffed 2 perks that were fine

They didnt buff ruin or bbq.

    They just made tier 1 + 2 not #########.

Thats not a buff, nor a nerf, it's just quality of life.

while bbq is not even a good perk just for the aura reading.

it doesnt help you with chasing, doenst stop people from doing gens, it just shows you positions you can even reach.

its only good for high mobility killers.

the bp stuff is awesome though

  • I just had a game against a Leatherface. I looped him for most of the gens, why? because he played badly.

You get punished for playing fair as killer.

    Why should killers play fair?

  • HORVATH - GAME DESIGNER | ANSWER Barbecue and Chili and Hex:

    Hahahaha I knew it.

I already thought, "what a killer buff, really?".

But nah, as always, a disguised nerf.

    Trust me, mates.

Decisive is next to be buffed.

    A 100% on that.

  • @MhhBurgers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/363934#Comment_363934

Billy is in no way balanced and keeps most of the killer roster down because the game cannot be balanced towards killers right now with Billy and Nurse running rampant having mechanics that no other killer will ever get again.

    Same goes for survivors, lol.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

When survivor I always play solo, I have 4 perks not 16.

When you are chasing a survivor it's is you versus them, 4v4 in terms of perks.

Perkless survivors vs perkless killers always would cripple survivors more than killers.

They don't have 200 seconds chances anymore, no sprint burst for no reason, no incredible hook saves, no aura reading and especially no self healing.

The killer would only loose a 3 seconds and gone-ruin, a BBQ which is nowadays a pretty useless perk for every killer but nurse and hillbilly, no NoOne Escapes Dead which should be built in in the game and not in a perk, which gives you 20-25 seconds time to hit a survivor before they opened the gate and left and finally no sloppy butcher which makes people heal 4 seconds longer.

Every killer will be much stronger when versing survivors with no perks.

Given the map is not complete bullcrap, which most of the maps are unfortunately, especially with the medium vault buffs.

    Haddonfield is a nightmare.

But adding new perks to the killer pool will not solve anything, instead perks need to be adjusted and gen rushing needs to be addressed.

  • Regression is a joke.

0% per damage, 0.25% per second

  • @ABannedCat said:

I think OP means that survivor are just jogging, instead of actually running away from the killer like their lives depends on it. And I agree, all survivors are running like toddlers. However that is for balancing reasons, because the killer is supposed to catch up, if surv wont put anything between them and the killer, like windows or pallets.

Some good ol haddon field house windows which are perfectly balanced

  • business tactics

Playing killer is a pain in the ass.

Survivors tend to demand killers to play a certain style and the ranking system is rewarding for bringing fun to the survivors and for the survivors, robbing fun from the killers.

As killer you mostly have weak perks and weak powers, while the abilities of survivors are much easier to understand and can be much more powerful.

People who find fun in the playstyle of chasing someone 24/7 while getting gen rushed and t-bagged at the exit gate, have to be brain damaged.

Killers should be rewarded for their hooks, only their hooks.

    That's what it is about.

The only devs job then would be to buff killers to a decent level which is not devastating but fun and fair to play.

  • How about we address gen rush first so killers arent forced to play only 2 killers and then reduce the strength of insta saw which isn't really insta tbh.

I dont think hillbilly is overpowered by the way.

Only the strength of downing people within seconds is strong, but if a survivor plays smart enough, hillbilly is no match.

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:
Trapper- Honestly, I don't think Trapper has many stereotypes aside from they're always the most likely to have noed lol.
Wraith- They cloak then camp, that's about it
Hillbilly- They are either camping with a chainsaw revved up from far away ready to get back when they see the survivor rescued OR they have BBQ and instantly chainsaw snipe you from across the map.
Nurse- They either are learning Nurse or you have no chance against them, Nurses are the gods, they will do everything in their supreme power to kill you. Normally don't camp or tunnel or do anything, they're just insanely good.
Myers- They either camp with the tier 3 up or they play normally (and the occasional scratched mirror)
Hag- They are either REALLY good or they place all 10 traps around you when you're hooked and when you're being chased out of the basement you pop all of them resulting in a conga line of hags
Doctor- Poor poor doctor shocks the sh*t out of you first even when the survivor is already in madness 3 then they DC at the end.
Huntress- They are honestly, pretty normal. They are normally good and I find them to be the nicest
Leatherface- Do I really need to explain this one? I'll do it anyway. INSIDIOUS BASEMENT OR BASEMENT BUILD
Freddy- We either always keep those pesky survivors in our world and they pallet loop us for eternity OR the Freddy just tunnels
Pig- They crouch and camp or tunnel the person with a trap
    Clown- Who's the clown?
Spirit- They either wait for the unhook and come back with phase walk and tunnel or they play good.
Legion- They tunnel OR They are not here for you to have fun, they don't care if they win or lose, all they care about is making you suffer for as long as they possibly can
No hate towards any killers, just wanted to name some stereotypes the killers have :)

All you do is whine about camping.
Thats not a stereotype, thats just you being bad at a game and blaming killers for not letting you bully them.

  • @George_Soros said:
Maybe, but on the other hand, as a survivor you always have a chance of picking perks that are useless against the killer you're up against. Self Care (or Dead Hard) against Legion, Small Game against someone with no Hex perks (or traps), and I could go on.

Self Care or Dead Hard is still not bad against the legion.
Not everyone stops healing when a legion approaches.

Survivors by the way have the better perks in terms of variety and they are a lot stronger.
While killers have perks like destroying a pallet 20% faster, survivors have perks like "fall down a platform and gain a 3 second speed boost"

  • @Master said:
    I disagree.
The proposed stun time allows the killer to counter it with enduring, so it should be fine.

If the stun time was as long as teh current DS, well then.....

"Fix a game mechanic with using a perk is a good idea"

DS should be at 30 seconds and if downed, it should be active for 60 seconds.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:
Is obviously the Ebony Mori. Forget about DS, forget about NOED, forget about instaheals and iridescent hatchet for a second.

An ebony mori reduces the number of hooks needed by 2. And the number of chases needed by 4 out of 12, that's the equivalent of a guaranteed hatch without taking into account things like new DS and the snowball effect it has.

If anything in this game needs a nerf then it's that. It makes even the worst killers go straight to being almost OP

4 DS is stronger than any mori.
Mori is not overpowered in my consideration.
You just have to escape the tunnel.

  • Ds is better now, i think atleast

  • I run both too.
NOED however isn't really overpowered, just considered overpowered by SWF teams.

  • Play vs. good players and you loose hope in life.
    I lost hope.

  • I run DS and it's overpowered and if I used it on a killer, I dont mind getting camped.
    It's a crutch.

  • Being downed at the gate shouldn't allow you to immediatly escape. Instead it should hinder you from moving for like 2-3 seconds, so the killer can pick you up.
Also you shouldnt fall into the escape, but in front of it.

There shouldnt be super safe places for survivors.
I am abusing the ######### out of it, btw. I'm a surv main.

  • @NoShinyPony said:
It's just a hypothetical question: If you could not dodge lobbies anymore (except for bad ping), would you still play killer?

This thread is NOT for discussing why killers are lobby dodging or whether lobby dodging is bad etc...
Please stick to the topic and stay polite, it's a simple survey. :)

I would certainly only with overpowered Equipment.

  • @Poweas said:
For the love of god, can someone explain to me why I'm always getting tunnelled? There was a Spirit who wouldn't even use her power much, I ran her for about 3 minutes with my teammates doing nothing relevant and getting 1 gen. And the second I'm unhooked, she always went for me. Left everyone else. There were 3 gens and it was 3 people alive. She already killed one. The other 2 died in seconds to her. So why did she tunnel me?! My other 2 chases were about 30 seconds. She claimed I ran into her arms even tho I clearly went the other way. .-.

Because theres no reason to go for full health survivors when there are half health survivors who are already stage 2 / death stage.
