I do agree with that, but you are so vastly different than other survivor players that you understand that the killer sometimes has to utilize certain strategies in order to win. Now if we are talking about camping and tunneling at 5 gens. I consider that not really needed unless you just want an easy game. The majority of survivor players will complain at you for doing it if there is 1 gen left, and it can be a bit irritating to hear the same thing over and over again. I try to explain to them why, but they don't exactly listen to anything I actually say to them. That's what also has killers being extremely toxic too, is that survivors also taunt and belittle the killer players for doing what they have to do to win.

Yeah survivors can be very immature and not understanding. Honestly those people give genuinely good survivors a bad reputation.

Overtime I just learned to accept it and in some cases it's nessacary for them.

  • I'm a survivor main but I'm not really against camping and tunneling to win the game. They are valid strategies to help killers win.

I'm more against camping and tunneling a person to be toxic to them. Its not the strategies that's toxic its the intention behind it that's toxic.

What is the point of this thread?

to hate on survivors and to spread hate and negativity.

  • Yeah I do. You can't really go in with the same strategy for every killer. If you going against a nurse then you can't really relay on looping.

  • I find lithe better because I don't have to save it by walking everywhere and the activation for lithe is not even that difficult since there are vaults everywhere. It could also help you get an extra loop in when you need it and gives you a fair amount of distance. It's also good when you valut windows from heights since you still get a good 1 or 2 second speed boost.

Lithe is better in my opinion.

  • I'm sorry but untill it's fixed I'm pre dropping pallets I just don't trust them anymore (I probably shouldn't have to begin with but still)

Surveillance nerf was a bug fix, Pyramid Head nerf was needed since faking out his power was stronger than actually using his power (But also came with a buff which made using his power much better for beginners and people who just missed his attack) and seeing the aura of the cages let people tunnel hard. As a Blight main the compound 21 nerf was absolutely busted and needed a nerf, for being a green addon it had the strength of an iridescent addon. Trickster never got nerfed, unless your referring to his trick blades, and that nerf was needed to since people were using it in a way where the dev's never intended, and it made him really strong. I still believe he needs buffs, but that nerf was absolutely warranted. Freddy nerf was also warranted, he had way too many things in his kit without any punishment for it. Twins nerf I absolutely do not agree with, but I can see where the dev's are coming from. As long as they fix their time inefficiency, then I'll be fine with the 5 second cooldown. Bad breakable walls affect both sides.

Most of those changes you stated are awful examples of showing how the dev's "cater" to one side, they were for the most part warranted. And what about the other changes to survivor? If those changes make the dev's survivor sided, than what about the toolbox nerf, infinite removal, insta-heal nerf, DS and OOO nerfs, and more? Do those just not fit your narrative?

Also forgot to mention but the undying nerf was also completely warranted, having Ruin be saved up to 4 times was absolutely dumb and also having it have no synergy with token based hex's made it extremely limited with how you could use it. Yes, having your hex totems broken in the first minute of the game also sucks but that's an entirely different balance issue.

Edit: Also forgot about the iri head nerf, but I am really praying right now that you don't unironically think that it wasn't absolutely warranted. Even most killer mains agree that iri head + Infantry is the strongest thing in the game.

Don't even waste your time with him. Him and other people just want to blame survivors for everything and they knowingly refuse to acknowledge that survivors have been nerfed just as much as killers and that the devs don't listen to only one side.

They are the terrible people causing division in the community between survivors and killers.

  • Nearly everyone agrees that lucky break change is too strong with iron will. I'm hopeful and confident that they will take the feedback and not go through with it. They would have to be crazy to do so.

  • They should really increase the range generator sounds are lowered so that its also more useful to veteran players as well as beginners.

  • I mean...... I'm not opposed to the idea.

  • Can you please give an example of this?

Right now all it seems the point of this post is to cause further divide in the community between survivors and killers. Please stop!

  • So using head on is toxic now?

  • I'm a survivor main and I'm currently experimenting with different builds at the moment but my main builds now is

    Detectives Hunch

It's for mainly finding totems and it helps greatly against hex perks. It's also amazing at finding gens and it makes indoor maps a bit bearable.

    Iron Will

It's a great stealth perk and it's really helpful in chases. I also need it just in case I go against spirit

    Autodidact

I love being helpful to others so I take Autodidact to help heal other quickly.

    Dark Sense

This Is the perk I am experimenting with and I'm liking it so far. It's decent but not useless.

  • I respect your opinion but I'm team David (sorry not sorry)

Both those seem reasonable, other than the killer instinct part. The devs have already stated they are moving away from any perks directly countering killer abilities.

Then for distortion, I think just change the tokens and hidding your aura read effect to making all killers aura reading ranged deceased by lets say 10 or 12 meters.

Also no one left behind is still bad. It needs a better effect or a complete rework.

I'm interested in other survivor perk changes.

  • Some I agree with I think will be healthy for the game but some I disagree with.

For Iron Maiden I would just change it to see the aura of all survivors in a locker

For distortion I would increase the tokens to 5 and also hide killer instinct.

  • I want an adam tome. I don't really care about the killer tome

Healthy and Nutritious, what more could you want.

Also I finally have an excuse to share this monstrosity

This video is making me uncomfortable. Is that what you put on when you want to mind control someone?

  • Doesn't @Boss main wraith? Let's ask them.

Is what op claim about wraith valid and what is his best addons?

  • I think wraith is fine as he is and is countered by spine chill.

The only change I want to him is that all seeing blood addon. It's a free aura read with no downsides what so ever and completely kills stealth the survivors have. This would probably be fine there was a downside to using the perk.

Yeah, I mean this in the nicest possible way even though it'll sound really mean...

Unless this was your very first multiplayer game ever or something, I would be VERY hard pressed to believe someone who said they thought it wasn't rude as hell to do.

It's certainly not impossible (especially if you're younger and/or not very experienced in video games) but in about any game with the ability to do so, T-Bagging is always seen as a middle finger to your opponent.

I think it had to do with the fact that before dbd I never really played a lot of multiplayer games. I usually prefer single players games.

When I did I don't think I have had people teabag at me and if I did I probably didn't think much of.

I was very oblivious to things as a child.

Do you also say "gg ez noob" and think nothing of it?

No I never messaged anyone. I don't really interact with other unless they message me first.

  • @deckyr said:

you'd have to be living under a rock in terms of online game experience to not know what teabagging is, and i think you're in a tremendous minority.

    Yes I am the minority

    @Ethelwulf said:

You see people mocking the killer when they win and make him lose and derank, and you didn't realize it was rude?

    Are you dense?

Yeah at first I didn't think anything of it.

  • I don't really like Ghostface too much. His power is really inconsistent and buggy and a lot of Ghostface tend to be toxic teabagging at survivors ( if survivors aren't allowed to teabag killers shouldn't either)

Other then this he is fine and not difficult to handle.

  • I love being nice in dbd too. As a survivor main I try and do my best to be kind to the killer and not toxic.

It's the best way to fight toxicity.

  • I like this HD model. They are doing great.

I'm literally a psychologist in real life (well social worker but I do the same things, diagnose people and treat people the same as a psychologist would).

    A real Psychologist!?? That's amazing!!!

Sir could you please diagnose this person immediately?

  • No you sorta went off on a psychotic rant for a second there. Which is why I asked if you wanted to talk

    I'm a psychiatrist now

I beat Jane's ass into a pulp and snap her neck and split her bones like firewood every other day.

I genuinely don't give a ######### how thicc she is, I only care that I can see her fat and gore seeping from fatal wounds all over the ground before I impale her on a sacrificial meat hook.

    But sure, she's hot.

    Do you want to talk?

I’m tired of the division that people like him & sluzzy cause. The best thing to do: ignore him & sluzzy. let them both talk to themselves In The replys. They both feed off attention & it’s time to starve them both of it.

I agree. The community is already divided enough we don't need more of it.

  • What's the point of this post? Who was saying killer is op?

  • I have thought up two ideas of killer powers that I think is interesting.

    The Beast (werewolf)

    Movement Speed: 115% 4.6m/s

    Terror Radius: 32 meters.

    Height: Tall

    Killer Power: Animal Instinct

As a werewolf you gain extremely unnatural and animal like abilities to hunt survivors as pray.

    Sprint:

Press the active ability button for a few seconds to get on all fours and brake into an animal sprint for a max of 10 seconds. You move slightly slower for 3 seconds after coming out of sprint. You cannot attack while in sprint mode.

    Beast Mode:

After 45 seconds a secondary power called Beast Mode will be activated. Press the active ability button to enter Beast Mode for 45 seconds. Survivors will be notified your in Beast Mode by a loud howl.

While in Beast Mode, Scatch marks and Blood trails becomes more viable.

When near an elevated surface, like a wall or obstacles, stand by it and press the activate ability button to climb on top and perch over it. While perched on top of it for 2 seconds you can pounce on nearby survivors. Survivors will lose a health state when you successfully pounce on them. Missing a pounce will stun you for and decrease the time of Beast Mode for 4 seconds.

When below an elevated surface with an opening press the activate ability button to jump up to area.

    The Fate.

    Movement Speed: 115% 4.6 m/s

    Terror Radius: 32 Meters

    Height: Average

    Killer Power: link

The Fate has the ability to weave people and objects destiny together and manipulate it to their will.

After 15 seconds you can activate Link.

When looking at a generator press and hold the activate ability for 3 seconds to start a link. You can link said generator to a max of 2 other generators. You can see if the generators are linked by a red thread connecting them.

Any generator state effect on one of the linked generators will apply the same effect to the others. The generators link is cut when it's fully repaired.

Press the activate ability button when looking at a survivor for a full 6 seconds to establish a link on them. While linking survivors you move slower. Survivors will be notified of being linked by a noise notifications.

When you successfully link a max of 2 survivors together they will see each others aura. If one of the linked survivors loses a heath state the second linked survivors will suffer from a deep wound. The link is cut when you injure the survivors.

When a generator or survivor link is cut you cannot link for 10 seconds.

How are these killer ideas. I don't have addon idea's yet.

  • These look absolutely great.

Well actually none of the survivors stories involve horror, they’re regular people and as @Phasmamain said the 1st Rambo movie dealt with ptsd and how vets are treated post war.

honestly I think Rambo would fit the style of dead by daylight perfectly

I disagree. The characters of dbd both killer and survivor was created specifically for horror. Ash's characters was created specifically for horror, Michael Myers and laurie strode were made specifically for horror. Rambo's character was made not for horror but for action movies.

Because of the difference in the genra these characters were created I don't think Rambo, an action characters has a place in horror.

And I meant to @Phasmamain for this but just because Rambo have themes of dealing with ptsd and how vets are treated after war that doesn't specifically mean that it's horror. A lot of other movies deals with those simpler themes but we don't classify them as horror do we?

Ultimately I respect your opinion as to why you think Rambo should be in DBD but in my opinion I don't think he fits.

But why not? I mean none of the original survivors come from horror

The original survivors were created for a horror game, with horror elements and story. They came from horror the moment they were created for the horror game.

  • @ThePolice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2148610#Comment_2148610

Dude have you seen ash vs evil dead? It’s basically a comedy action show with elements of horror

There are movies and shows that are both comedy and horror. Ever watch a move called Tucker and Dale vs Evil? Sure it's comedy but there is also obvious elements of horror and a horror centered story. If it was possible to be in game I would be fine with it.

Rambo is not horror and the stor he is from is not a horror story. So he won't fit in the game at all.

  • They are fine because in both instances they are both centered around a horror theme and story. Ash's characters is from a horror show and movie and the Kpop star has elements of horror that makes it acceptable. Its slasher horror with just the esthetic and background of kpop.

Rambo is an ACTION hero from an ACTION movie. It's like putting Spiderman in DBD the character and story has nothing to do with horror.

  • @glitchboi said:

I'm not sure about this one, it seems kind of odd. How about just make it an instant-activation perk that activates when a killer lunges at the survivor at a particular distance without needing to press anything, and counterable by going close to the survivor and hitting them?

Just make it one-time use and bam, you got yourself a balanced version of DH!

I say just put it on a token system. 3 tokens that can possibly be used consecutively (I haven't decided which is best yet) After the tokens are consumed they permanently have the exhaustion status effect and can't be used if already exhausted

I feel like this change makes it more skill based.

Please don't compare being told to commit suicide to camping and tunneling. It's sick. Never seen a killer tell survivors such stuff or mock them for losing. Survivors mocking the killer and being awful happens all the time. Tell me when killers start pointing out the rank of the survivor and telling them they are trash and stuff.

Just because you refuse to believe that killers can be toxic doesn't mean its not true. Sure mostly survivor are toxic but it's dishonest and untrue to say killers can't also be toxic.

  • Imo Deliverence is nice and can be very beneficial to you and your team as you won't waste time getting off the gen. However the downside is that if your hooked first it does nothing. So if your fine with that i would suggest taking it.

Lithe is also really good. The speed burst from vaults can help you get to better position to help you in chase if you know how to use it well. It's also good in windows with heights. Since you still get the speed boost for a good second or two. After you fall.

  • I could be wrong but what your describing doesn't really seem like a swf problem it's more of a gameplay design flaw problem.

Solos could have easily done the same thing your describing.

  • I'm not going to lie. Bill looks hot in that cosmetic.

  • 1. Detectives Hunch

    2. Alert

    3. Autodidact

    4. Wake Up.

  • I think its best to but back the original effect but adding another minute to the time and adding another effect to. I say to also make it so that you are immune from all healing debuffs or immune to the mangled status effect.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

They've thrown around the idea of making other objectives which could be cool.

Id love for them to also nerf a lot of meta survivor perks (not from the argument that survivors are OP) but it's hard to imagine using other perks unless they get buffed very aggressively (excessively even) since the meta has mostly stayed the same for years.

I think I figured out the reason behind the prominent use of meta perks. It's because it you think about it most, if not all, the survivors meta perks are a direct counter to specific killer strategies. DS for tunneling (supposedly), BT for camping, and Unbreakable for slugging. If you do something with the strategies you can probably do something to perks made to counter them and you could encourage players to use different perks. I'm just mostly assuming so I could be wrong

  • @BioX said:

I use it just fine on my Steve so speak for yourself.

Community usage numbers are of little value anyway with the amount of skill lacking "gamers" out there making the meta the meta

I'm glad you find it useful but it's still really bad. To have to open the gate to get it's effect is just terrible. It needs a buff

Plus if you buff it it could be used more.
