Yes. Rip up all the internet lines in the world and replace them with massive fibre optic trunks with those new light spectrum splitter things from Australia that really made me both drool and question my understanding of the physics behind transmitting information along basic fibre optic cables. If only I wasn't so bad with nouns I could be more specific.
Short of that? No, even in shooters melee hits look wierd when you're dealing with the kind of ping that DbD has (due to a lower playerbase count and less competitive nature). The AI that's trying to show us the position of other people in the game has too much information to sort out that you don't really see in other titles, mostly because other titles have much more limited movement either because people are shooting each other or because of physical limitations in movement and turn speed. The only time, for example, that survivor motion has felt okay on the killers end since killers stopped hosting the trials in the P2P system was when survivor's directional movement was so slow and agonising it made my survivor ques jump down to 30 seconds.
Edit: Which is an annoying flipside to the argument because I CAN'T PLAY BILLY BECAUSE BACKREVS ARE BASICALLY RNG FOR ME. Gods I wish there was some way to improve the predictive AI but I honestly don't see it happening.
So I guess we just deal with this then.

You really don't understand the concept of "latency" or "objectives".
Imagine if you were doing a generator and it suddenly blinked out of existence and reappeared in another tile and half of your progress was gone. Now imagine that happening every time you go to work on a generator.
Do you know if there is a way to reduce latency so that hits don't mostly look bad?

I am pretty sure its intentional and other systems can do it yet it has less counterplay than J flicks. J flicks could be dodged if you changed direction these flicks give the blight a lot more control to readjust if you do something like this.
If that's the case I don't know how I feel about it. I wish it won't be impossible to handle.
-
If it's now intentional, has counters and other systems are able to do it. Then I guess it's fine.

Lol I loved doing that achievement honestly. Id still do it even after I completed it once just for fun
I found that fun too. Just playing l4d with friends trying complete this was a blast. I sware I think the game targeted me with all the special infected because I had the gnome.
-
I think that's the gnome from the left 4 dead 2 game. Isn't it a charm?

At this point I'm not even surprised. Is it really that hard to set a maximum turn distance when swinging during a lethal rush? Better yet, to test things?
Wait what? You actually want the devs to test things out to see if things work? What are you talking?
Don't be crazy
-
To be honest I can't really say I'm surprised they didn't fix it

I'm an adam main. Please stay were are in endangered species.

Stop playing with my feelings!!!!!!

As one of the luckily few already interviewed, I highly recommend it!
It's a great way to get your opinion out there.
I highly encourage it too. It was really fun and helped the community get to know me more.

Sure, as someone who plays in a swf I'm not against it. I can definitely understand playing against a swf is a challenge.

Hit Validation as we have it now amounts to nothing more than a PR stunt. It was pretty clear when they said 150 ping is good during a devs' stream.
Regarding hit authority, there are things that can be done to mitigate latency issues, R6 Siege being an example. I don't know if BHVR would be able to replicate that.
I think at the very minimum a hard limit on ping should be implemented to tackle the VPNers.
Do you know if there is anything the player can do to reduce latency on their end?

It doesn't show the aura of any Undetectable killer. Which is why I keep getting ######### over against Wraith, because he can see my aura but I can't see his.
It's because of this I don't wanna make object a permanent place in my build.
-
Has anyone used object against a stealth killer? I'm worried about it working against me constantly showing my location to them.
-
A game in which people aren't mean and everyone gets along.
-
I would buff left behind in 1 of 3 ways
1. When your the last survivor alive your gate opening speed is increased by 20% along with the current effect.
2. When your the last survivor alive increase your vaulting speed by 6% along with the current effect.
3. Always shows the aura of hatch regardless of if your the last survivor alive or not.

red herring, diversion (not the locker perk, the pebble), iron will, and urban evasion
I will definitely try this build out. I will record gameplay of it as well. Thank you.

I'll try this one and edit the post later for the results!
Ok thanks. Do you have a build I can use later?

Noed
Blood warden potentially
Spirit fury
Undying
Rancor
Haunted ground to an extent
Fire up
That’s all I would consider
I would also argue that Unrelenting is a second chance perk as well because it allows you to recover faster from a missed hit.

Killer and survivor
Rules are more of a guideline, this is for fun after all.
If you want to do a build earlier in the post go nuts
Well if that's the case I have multiple survivor builds that I have created for fun. I'm also currently trying to make multiple builds that involve every single survivor perk so this should be fun.
Survivor: preferably Adam but if you don't have the perks on them then it's fine to use someone else.
Item: Medkits (any kind)
Build: Sprint Burst, Premonition, Windows of oppurtunity, Repressed Alliance.
This is a fun build that I created and It has helped a lot of times.
-
Is this for killers only or can survivors suggest builds to use as well?

That is so creepy.

Someone did this to me but it wasn't in dbd. It was from this guy that started texting me, he somehow got my phone number.
He was saying how he was gonna do all these things to me, even swat me and such.
I just called him a sorry loser twink that's so pathetically starved for attention that they had to resort to being a creep to get it. So sad. He never responded and fortunately he never followed up with the threats.
Anyway at first I was 100% in agreement but now that I've read some of these posts I can relate to them and see why they want protection from vile people like that.
You just never know who's the one making these threats. It could be a basement dweller with a god complex or someone that has no issues in actually going through with the threats.
Also, I made a post a while ago that kinda touched on a similar issue. There was a lot of wonderful discussion that was made and we even came to understand each other. That doesn't mean that we agreed but just understand.
So I'm a little more receptive when it comes to the internet connection of developing nations.
That's really scary they found out your phone number. I admire your confidence to snap back at them but me I would have apologized and been terrified. I'm glad nothing happened afterwards.
It's stories like this that makes me what to be careful of people on the internet.

I’m open to there being a debate/discussion about whether it needs to be tweaked but like I mentioned in the caption the primary reason I made this is to hear the ideas of people like yourself who think the addons need to change, and more specifically I’m really curious as to what you’d do to them
Well the way I would change it is to have a downside to those addons because of how strong it is. Maybe like a decrease in movement or unblocking speed.
But ultimately I'm not too sure. I don't play killer at all which is why I was hesitant to give my opinions it.
-
Well I think when talking about things it's best to ask an expert.
I personally think all seeing blood and silent bell should be changed but I'm a survivor main. and since your a wraith main you would have more expert knowledge then me. Do you think all seeing blood and silent bell should be changed?

I can't speak for those who VPN in order to access servers in different continents, but for me, It's always been purely for protection. I had the unfortunate experience wherein I defeated a team of survivors only to get threatened in the endgame chat by someone who traced my IP address, knew my location, and said they would swat me. Fortunately they didn't follow up on that threat, but it left me pretty shaken. Seriously, who the hell does that over a loss in an online game?
With my family, and myself at risk due to what is and always has been my hobby at best... I couldn't take that chance anymore. I Subscribed to a VPN and while it does cut my connection speed in half, I feel secure that I can game without the chance that an asshat like that will ever be able to trace my IP anymore.
As for those who use VPN to join servers in different countries, Maybe give them a little slack. Sure they don't have the same reasons I do for using a VPN, but overall, have you ever thought that maybe the reason they do it is less about gaining a game advantage, and more about connecting to a better server than their area currently provides? I know this can be frustrating, but maybe they don't really deserve all the hate you're giving them.
Someone was able to find my ip address and location when I accidentally messed up in a solo game. I got so scared I stopped playing for a week.
People are scary on dbd.
-
I love it. Elodie looks amazing and stylish. Although I would really like an adam cosmetic.
But she is serving gold realness
-
I like the new object. It's more fair and it comes at a risk. It's also countered by undetectable killers and perks.

the way i ease up on killers when they’re having a hard time protecting gens with no hooks is going around and making sure all the totems are cleansed. still a side objective getting done and at least 1 person is off gens, while I’m sure the others are rushing them just fine.
That's what I do sometimes to prevent noed and devour hope.

I don't mean pity hits or kills I mean give them practice in chases or say practice their powers like a nurse player trying to get better
Aren't I helping them practice chases by looping?
-

And it's to much to ask to ease up a bit versus an inferior opponent?
I mean sometimes I do. I can't say the same to my friends but I do. I give myself to the killer willing to give them at least one kill.
Also what do you mean by ease up? Do you want me to stop doing my objective in order to give them a hook, do you want me to stand in place? What do you mean?
-
@latinfla4 said:

You can see that a killer is a lower rank if gens fly by and they don't even get one hook and get looped right?
Not really. A lot of factors determine if a killer is looped for multiple gens. Map rng, the killer they are playing as, the perks the survivor have ect.
I have played in games in which red rank killer has been loop for multiple gens not getting hooked. Rank does not mean skill at the moment.
-
I play in a swf.
I can't speak for my friends but no I don't have fun stoping killers at lower ranks.
But I have to ask why are you blaming swf for bad matchmaking? We can't see the killers rank before the match so we assume it's a red rank killer. Like seriously do you want us to stand there when we get a bad killer. I sometimes kill myself on purpose to make killers feel better.
Blame matchmaking not survivors
-
While I agree with you that killers may need to resort to strategies like camping and tunneling to do well, like any strategies they need and should have counters to them. No strategy should be 100 fool proof which is why I encourage perks like unbreakable, ds and bt in order to help counter these strategies.
-
I love the new object it's fun and provides a lot of information. And I don't feel guilty for using it now. I'm considering making it a permanent part of my build.

What are YOU on about? 45 seconds - 32 seconds per heal = 13 seconds of actual perk usage.
Plus you have to take into account the running time to get away from the killer and get to a safe position to start healing. With this you would most likely have a single digit left of time.

Nick's suit for Ace or Felix would've been awesome.
Yep Ace or Felix would have been great. Such wasted potential.

@th3 said:
45s makes it literally garbage. I can't believe people are upset about 45 seconds when goes by so fast. Unbelievable.
Ik. The first time I used lucky break and iron will I got a spirit (lucky me) after I got hit I got away easily. But when I got away I had 3 seconds left in my timer.
I had to play the rest with 3 perks.
-
I like it and it's really helpful during chases. A problem I have with it is that when I don't want to show my aura it hurts me a lot.
One very good thing now is that I don't feel guilty while using it now
-
@Deviri said:
Okay but please consider Shirtless Ghost Face.
I'm not opposed
-
People just want it because people love to see themselves represented in media. It's nice to know that you exist. It's not really harmful to the game at all so it's not so bad.
If you don't want it that's fine but if you do its also fine.
(I'm going to be honest with you. Your sorta opening pandoras box with thus topic)
-
To get the most use out of lucky break your probably going to have to pair it with a healing perk or good medkit.
So it's basically like old lucky break.
-
Is this a bad thing for killers?
-
@OmegaXII said:
One thing I’m concern is Open Handed + Kindred.
Free killer aura in 32 meters from hooks is kind of broken, especially in small maps.
Lets be real, it’s very common for killers to be within that range while chasing another survivor. This just makes mindgame impossible until survivor is unhooked
I didn't think that would be a problem.
I guess that is concerning.

I’m super happy it’s finally getting something. I just hope vigil gets the same treatment
Forgot to mention windows of opportunity with open handed. That’s a nice combo
Bond and open handed is also good to be fun. I can see what my useless team is doing across the map. I have a whole build around open handed now
Open Handed
Windows of oppurtunity
Bond or Kindred
Visionary or detectives hunch
It's going to be fun
-
It's too strong. I'm hopeful it will not make it to live game.
-
I'm not against it

I don't think I have a favorite map to play on. They just seem fine.
I hate to play on swamp. It's so annoying and I can't tell where pallets or vaults are. It's also buggy with fat shaming spots and generators you can't work on.
