The amount of bias, and people claiming they play both sides but clearly are just saying that to appear rational, is laughable.
The nature of this game is one side having a better time than the other. Both sides do what they can to "win", whatever winning is to them (more points, escape/kill, personal challenges, etc). Utilizing game mechanics, strategizing, playing optimally, none of this is "toxic", and you can't call it toxic just because you yourself don't enjoy the results of it.
So, to circle back to the topic, slugging is not fun. Neither are flashlight saves, camping, endlessly looping, tunneling, or genrushing. None of these are fun for someone in the match.
But the devs have made it clear these are all valid strategies. So this community really has to start learning to deal with them, and move on to their next matches instead of throwing tantrums because they didn't win one match.
Wow this stunned me. Have not heard some real grade A ######### like this for some time on the forums. Blessings to you.

Dash movement is pretty stiff.
And M1'ing takes forever.
How does ANYONE ever get downed by this guy???
I feel this way when I face against him as Survivor, too. I just don't get it.
Unless there's nothing to get, and he is considered bad by most people who know what's going on.
I play him on Xbox and still completely disagree. He can win the game at any moment and that can't be said about lots of killers. Seems you just need to practice with him a bit and you will see.

Sigh 😕

Well Nancy from NOES, Sydney from Scream, Lorraine from the Conjuring/Annebelle movies are some that pop into mind. That reminds me Mary Shaw from Dead Silence would be a awesome killer.
I also would love a GOT chapter. Perhaps Daenerys and Snow as survivors (I would main the Dragon Queen forever) and a white walker/Night King killer. The dead could roam the map like Nemesis. Please BHVR.

I think it would be fun and something new (this game really needs something like that) but 4 games is wayyyy to much as there aren't enough value to lots of perks but 1-2 games adds a strategy to the game that I'm all for. The main issue is characters would need 8-12 perks to pull this off and that takes a bit sometimes.
-
The iri that huntress has that increases her speed when out of hatchets I wish was base for Trickster. I know most of my issues with him are because of console but I personally have to reload with him much more often than her and he is the one I need extra time with. He is dog ######### on console so I would prefer they mess with his recoil as there knives not an automatic weapon.

It's so weird. I understand if someone was being toxic. At that point you brought it upon yourself but I didn't do anything to the killer. I don't teabag at all and I try and be nice and they shake their head at me and hit me on hook.
Any ideas as to why killers do this?
If the survivor was really good and gave me a good chase (without just running from pallet to pallet instant dropping) I smack them once out of respect. I wish there was another way to express myself as killer because I'm sure most think I am being a dick.
-
I usually always bring a bag but this is the only combo without one I like. Bag plus honing stone is great as well.
-
I enjoy Mike and perform quite well with him but I agree he could use some changes as I personally just run Hair Brush/Bow with memorial flower/myers memorial. I hate the fact I can only hit evil within a limited amount of times as that's his power. Only killer that has a limit like that to his power. Also why the hell can't he stalk through corn those maps are dreadful with him. Now what I do like is his add-ons allow him to change the way the game is played. I love that about him there are so many different ways to play him. I just hope if/when they update him the Mirrors stay. I like them both.

Funny I feel like I have to play Nurse, Spirit, and Blight super sweaty to get decent results but Give me PIG, Clown, Huntress, Fred, or Mike and most of my games are laid back relaxing slaughter fests. It's also more satisfying to get gud with killers like that instead of being a follower/whiny baby and use the top 3 only. Just my opinion though I didn't pay for your games so do you.

I agree, but mindbreaker may also be good.
I said Distressing because it helps get value out of Coulrophobia. Personally I don't run Lullaby by itself gets cleansed to easy but it's a good perk if it makes it to 3-5 stacks even high rank survivors miss them. If you get your stacks up and defend the totem it completely stalls the gm as they can't seem to work the gens without draining everything they have done with silent skill checks. I have the undying/lullaby combo only on fred/huntress at this time and Fred it's counter productive on (knocks you out of dream world). I usually get undying on my killers but no hexes till much later....Well I always get Blood Favor but I pretend that perk don't exist.

- Coulrophobia - healing slow down.
- Thanataphobia - objective slowdown.
- Unnerving Presence - makes skill checks more difficult.
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby - makes skill checks more difficult.
surprisingly, this build has a lot of synergies for a meme build.
Sounds fun. Unnerving makes it easier to hit greats so I would swap it out with Distressing on that build.
-
LOL I'm rank one and won at 4 gens remaining last night to a team with 3 flashlights. Lightborn makes those games so easy and the survivors throw the game before they even figure out their flashys aren't working. There is always that one who DC's soon as they find out.

Agreed on all except hiding Pig's boxes. It only encourages survivors to hop on gens
?????????
At he beginning of a trial that what they going to do anyhow. Perhaps I need to be more specific when a survivor spawns in the boxes are invisible (so they don't know it's Pig). After Pig initiates a chase, gen is done, or a trap is put on a survivor (any of these 3) the boxes are visible like normal.
-
Trapper - needs a few things but Extra trap an whatever else is needed to not make him add-on dependent.
Plague - I don't think she needs to be so slow with corrupt, also would like infection (same with Nemesis) to have a debuff to give a incentive to cleanse.
Pig - mostly want to crouch faster and have her boxes hidden from the start. She is the only stealth killer with a visual warning (boxes) that it's her and keep your eyes on a swivel.
Freddy - Mostly just another add-on change. His add-ons are dog ######### and it makes him boring. Only killer where I look at his add-ons and say nothing really helps.
Legion - The fatigue is too long and the add-ons that reduce it don't seem like they help.
-
For sure. Hopefully it's a good status effect and not like Hemmorage/Oblivious. not even sure why hemmorage is still in the game and they seem obsessed with oblivious.

POV: I played my first ever Twins game this week and there was a TTV streamer in my match. I chased him first and hooked him, then planted Charlotte near the hook (not facecamping distance) to use Victor. Found someone healthy and pounced with Victor successfully. At the same time, the TTV got rescued so I went back to the hook. At this point, the rescuer hid somewhere because I looked around a bit first and didn’t see them immediately so I followed the blood and scratch marks instead… found TTV again and hooked him. When I watched the VOD after the game, at that moment found him he calls me a “POS tunneler”, “trash killer”, etc. I also saw his rescuer’s aura crouching nearby hiding.
Later on in the match after hooking someone else I find the TTV with Victor and pounce him. He proceeds to resorting to holding Victor hostage for the rest of his time in the game. After I decide to chase him I down him then pick up to hook. Before I can hook he disconnects to “deny the sacrifice”. In the result screen he sees I’m console and then says “why are all console killers trash tunnelers” or something.
I hope this can be a lesson to survivors to: A) if you rescue someone without BT, at least try to distract the killer and take hits… and B) if you feel you’re getting tunneled, maybe it’s because your TEAM is hiding. Don’t expect a killer to let you go if you’re the only one he sees.
I don't like the twins as much as before the 5 sec change to Vik but they are still fun in their own way. I personally only play them when I'm not looking for a victory as I don't like to slug/camp with them until 1 gen/EG so I am not playing them optimally the whole match. As for the so called tunnel I wouldn't worry about it as theres only a handful of survivors capable of understanding something outside their own personal bubble.
-
Yes.
Killer played with 3 perks all game against 16. It's an issue for survivors because they refuse to just leave or finish the bones they walked past the whole game.

Oh yeah, my unlucky streak of VS him over and over and over (and literally being tunneled in every game for zero reason- I spawned in the first ever amtch vs him and got the treatment, and the next, and the next, despite doing nothing "wrong"- to the point where I had to change my steam name after each match because apparently Hakuna Matata was so offensive?????) started long before MMR.
Hakuna Matata 😂🤣😂 I wish Xbox would let us change our name like that. We have to pay $10 and what we want might be taken.

Yeah I know it's more of a meme build (funny enough that one of the other two also had head-on when I almost always have iron maiden in my builds just for the speed up). Which wouldn't be a problem since I don't aim to kill anyway.
But after getting hit several times even despite respecting it due to great hitboxes and then even the forced DS/head-on doublestun, i had enough of this obnoxious strategy which only worked because I played nice without camping/tunneling or slugging up to this point.
Being nice as killer seldomly gets you anything but getting curbstomped by remotely skilled players and only few times gratitude from the genuine new survivor. (Btw I got reset down to 17 in may due to the reset bug and managed to stay there for "sometimes" relaxed" killer dailies or adepts).
Completely agree with everything. My main focus is BP as well (for now) so I tend to allow escapes sometimes because I didn't tryhard their asses and in return....Well you know how they are. BP is most important but if I can I will kill them all at 5 gens if possible just like if I play bad they will end the game in minutes.

lots of time is wasted trying to do head-on plays (unless have Q&Q/Deception). If survivors give the killer extra time they die just like a 3 flashlight game I played last night. I love those games they basically give you the win....Helped I was using Clown that game (He has made his way into my top 5) with Lethal, STBL, POP, Ruin. The pressure was on from the start for them.
Oh and I finally had RNG go my way they all spawned together which is very rare these days most of the time they spawn separated 3-5 meters from a gen.

Funny I had this experience a few days ago for the first time in a long time.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DZSPX5K28X6V/20210825-220500-hdr-7e2.jpg
Two double swf (respectively the two dead and the two escapees). I normally play soft for the 4 stacks bbq, 8hooks and no kills plus this time the 4 hit daily on wraith.
Map was one of the yamaokas, the one with the mansion without the hill (if that helps). Two locker at that little shrine and it was relatively close to shack. The two dead ones both lead every chase back to the shrine and after the first head on from both i knew what was going on and shifted to the other 2 for stacks.
I still wanted max BP with 8 hooks but those two would ALWAYS go back to the shrine and slowly but surely i get one Hook after another. But then they even forced DS with the locker grab and that was it for me. I downed one and pulled the other successfully out of the locker.
After that I go "afk" while invisible while in the shrine and look at the painting there so the other two can finish the last gen (i had 9 hooks by that time and didn't want to accidentally kill on of the other 2).
Result: i dropped mercy halfway through the game and killed those head-on clowns even without real tunneling or camping and successfully let the other two escape.
I even got compliments from the escapees which also found the head-on players annoying.

Head on me and you are going to die. Weirdest part I love that perk and respect when it's pulled off and I love pulling it off myself. Will still kill whomever hits me with Head-on though.

I've actually found that toying with the people who try to bother me in chat is both fun and kind of therapeutic. If someone says "GG EZ try harder next time loser" (or something to that effect) I might say something like "I know something you don't know I know" just to mess with their head. Or if someone is angry that I didn't perform to their standards as a survivor, something like "Nice job hiding all match", I might throw some random irrelevant quote at them like "Be mindful of staring too long into the abyss, lest the abyss stare also into you" and then skip right along into the next game. If someone calls me lame or a poor player or whatever I might even just say something nonsensical like "Rows? There are seven. How often do you fall for it?" just to completely throw them off. They'll be thinking about it for the next hour.
Try it sometime. Anonymous badmouthers want one reaction: Anger. You'd be surprised how easy it is to frustrate them by going completely sideways and saying something that makes them have to question what you're talking about.
If I reply it's usually with 😂 or 🤮 or GG. I have had multiple people get a communication ban from things they have said. Xbox sends you a message letting you know when report turns to a ban.

So according to your logic, if I go to a sports game I can act like a dick and disturb every one around me? I mean I paid for my ticket.
Thing is, every one else paid as well. And simply ruining the experience of others because "I paid for it" is a REALLY bad excuse
LOL good flip on that one. Difference is a sports game is in public and there are consequences to your actions. Bring a mori (like why the ######### anyone cares anymore), tunneling/camping in a video game is not a good comparison.

Introduction
I'm not sure if I'm the only one who does this, but whenever I face a baby killer or a skilled killer who just got unlucky in general, I usually let them sacrifice me. They deserve at least a 1K for trying, but 90% of the killers don't want to sacrifice me when I'm literally pointing at the hook.
They will down me, pick me up, then drop me at the gates. I don't want to wait for the EGC to sacrifice me since it's slowed, so I follow their wishes and leave.
This is common with Nurses, Tricksters, Huntresses, and an Oni. Other killers do it too, but I see these killers just don't want a free sacrifice.
I don't understand, this is the equivalent of me as the killer, giving you the hatch. When I try to do the survivor equivalent, why don't killers accept it?
Your the only one.

this...This is a great way to describe the situation, it also depends on the player's ability to mind game. I am in purple ranks I always get at least 3ks with this dude. I have loads of fun with him i just play casual when with him
Trickster is infuriating to me. I want to play him, like what he brings, but even on my Series S his knives are like a Uzi drive by (100 bullets only 2-4 hit) . I play Slinger and Huntress very well but this dude is a different animal on console. Honestly ######### him and ######### whoever didn't make him only playable on console. Not saying I have never got a 4k but it's only been 2-3 times....Although if I played purple survivors I would 4k. I 4k with nurse during my training when it was purple survivors.

2 days ago got a streamer that was at a different gate then I was at. After sacrificing one he came over because he just had to have my attention and have me see him leave. I was twins at the time for a daily and jumped on him at the gate. He was downed and could not leave so I hooked him. I noticed there was also a Feng who stayed behind to help so I let her unhook. They bolt for the gate only to see BW so I injured then downed the Feng (the streamer ran to middle of map). I killed her and went looking for him and came across him at the hatch. I downed him and scooped him up as the hatch opened and no DS so he died.

I'll admit that I'm a casual player at best when it comes to DBD, but ever since the MMR was been turned off my matches have been completely lopsided and sweaty, and quite frankly I'm tired of it. What you see here was my very first match of the night. First impressions are everything, and needless to say I didn't feel compelled to go on after that. While I can't speak for everyone, the MMR has always provided a more even playing field for me, and without it I really don't care to go on.

I do totems because it's 1000-1500 BP and points into the objective category. If you have been keeping the killer busy (not working much gens) totems are a great way to get some objective points.

Anyone else tired of seeing these posts?

I have 4k with every killer on Haddonfield but some are ridiculously hard to do it with. Certains killers I really don't want to see it with (Twins, Billy, Plague, and Blight? Maybe Blight). Trapper, Hag, Doc, Clown, and stealth killers I don't mind it though and I would take Haddonfield every time over RPD.
-
I also think Pig is fine. If any changes I wouldn't mind crouching faster and boxes being hidden from survivors at the start. I would actually like that for all killers actually Pig boxes, Plague fountains, Trapper's Traps, etc be hidden so they don't know who the killer is right when they spawn.

@throwaway79465468797 said:
Yes I'm new to the game so be it. Going to vent so feel free to leave if you're one of these campers and believe you're a tactical player.
I just played ~8 games in a row where the killer either hard camped a player or hovered near them to prevent safe unhooks. 9 times out of 10 this causes the player involved to get to 2nd phase without a chance to play the rest of the game. This is just in the early parts of the game, where maybe 1 or 2 gens are fixed. Sometimes no generators have been touched and the killer gets a lucky spawn. Then decides they will camp the body to win the game for free. Yes, for free.
4 years this game has been around. I know it's a dying game but we can see the obvious reason. If you won't balance the game for players and killers alike then people will quit playing. I'm frustrated so my point of view is biased, but not so much that I can't see how incredibly beneficial it is for the killer to simply pick a player and chase them for the whole game. Or camp them on hooks.
Especially when this could be easily resolved... and force the killer to have 60% slower actions within a radius around the hooked player. Slower movement speed is included in that debuff. Slower time to check lockers, slower time to vault, slower time to break pallets... everything should be slower.
Why is it so simple to force the killer away from the hook but yet camping is seen as a viable strategy? I guess if I get camped that means I can do the same when I play killer... but I'm telling you, that makes the game incredibly boring. No one else likes the camper and it just feeds a negative mentality, which of course eats itself and builds a very negative community around it.
I don't even care if there's not a single person here who is against camping. It is bad for the game. Don't leave it up to the community to correct this problem. 4 years in the making and this could have been fixed 3 years ago now. Such ignorance should not go to waste.
But the game is dead, so people are glad to see it waste away. Very disappointing.

lol I'm a killer main and campers I can easily outmatch. Also can 4k without camping thanks. I'm sorry you're so bad at this game you have to camp. Try learning to get gud.
Knowing when to tunnel/camp/slug is a tactic. 1-2 gens left, your behind so you eliminate one real quick to make up time and remove someone that can work gens, get two people hooked near each other with gens near by, your behind and just downed someone and look another survivor so leave that one on ground and chase the other which only leaves one on a gen (1 down, one being chased, one needs to rescue) are all viable reasons for these tactics. These tactics used right from the start.....Yes baby killers I agree.
-
Even red rank killer can get a batch of solo's who can't do ######### (there are some good solos as well) but you can also have nothing but 4 team squads. I have had nights where I can't be stopped and nights were it's a sweat fest. I can tell you my wife played killer and did not lose until purple ranks.....MY WIFE (not very good I swear) so the beginning of killer is a cake walk which does not prepare you for the higher ranks. There is a lot more rng to this game than pointed out here. Map spawns as specific killer (some maps are terrible for certain killers), hex spawns, survivor spawns, pallet/loop/jungle gym spawns just to name some. I went against a Pig last week on Midwich and ALL her boxes were on the top floor. That is a example of terrible rng luck the time saved running to boxes allowed myself and another two escape. The chest spawns (keys), items survivors brings (flashlights, fire crackers, flashbang/mine) against Hag/wraith just some examples.
-
@BabuDweet said:
tbh I play both sides but this is just completely unfair on survivors.
Thats how I feel when there's a two pallet section right next to shack window. Or jungle gym right next to shack. This is lame to though just bout whether the rng gods favor you. They don't favor me.
