I agree that Tinkerer is a problematic Perk. IMO the most problematic one in the Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer-Combo. You dont need any Awareness to use it, it is just a "Pressure here!"-Sign.
But I disagree with your idea:
"If I were to rework it id make it activate on 70% still, remove the undetectable status effect and add a 7% haste bonus to the killer for 16 seconds. This makes it better on pretty much most killers, makes it more fun and now it actually has a use against good players by having a faster chase with haste."
This would not solve the problematic bits at all. The Undetectable Status does not really matter that much, except for grabs or stuff like that (or if a Tinkerer-Bubba comes around the Corner). However, with this the Killer would still get their "Pressure here"-Sign, there would still be the very strong combination with Ruin.
And on top of that, 7% Haste will allow Killers without Mobility to move to a Gen faster. And I guess nobody really wants to lose a Chase because the Killer got 7% Bonus Speed, which is out of the control of the Survivor.
Tinkerer a problem makes no sense to me. I feel like people are being petty about it. Ruin/undying/tinkerer on a few killers can be tough but in the end majority of totem spots are garbage leaving just tinkerer which by itself should not be a problem. Free info/effect can be said about lots of perks. Alert is more dangerous an the Survivor literally has to do nothing. Ofc the killer is going to activate it with 20+ pallets on every map plus kicking gens. I do however love your idea for changing it sounds more fun. I personally don't run to every tinkered gen I like the effect mid chase.

Ok? Do you want survivors to spawn together every game?
These look like pretty normal spawns to me.
Yes. They should spawn together and at the very least have to do some work for their objective. Not spawn completely spread out (most efficient for them) next to gens/hexes. The corrupt argument does not have to do with spawn points but does help with the effect these spawn points cause. Why LP is best ran with it helping the "Hide it out" strat and getting immediate pressure. Gen speeds, perks, etc are not the problem spawn points are.
-
The game is just loosing taste for me. I am already down to 1-2 games a day and thats mostly rituals. Before I bought the Series S it was performance figured the game would be more fun if I could play without performance issues. Still the same repetitive grindy game as before just works better now.

Fair enough. The only thing I can say is that I am speaking from experience with this one.
Fair enough. I just get bored with the same o perks. I like to try and make every perk work in some way even territorial I have had success with on fast killers (Oni especially) but draw the line at Monstrous shrine.....Wait Basement bubba/trapper lol I will see how that goes as well.

I'm talking "You end up losing two gens because Deadlock stopped you from popping them back to back" hard.
Sure. If that starts a pattern I don't like can always switch it. Your example would be sucky rng so lets hope for once the rng is in my favor.

That is the part that interest me is holding it in place while I am hooking and coming to pop it.
This was my exact train of thought when I first saw Deadlock, and I can promise you from experience that when that plan backfires, it will backfire hard.
Most perks backfire hard so not a tipping point for me. Hexes especially have this effect but still run them from time to time (apparently to piss myself off).
-
This perk has my interest. I know the post is about tourney play which I have taken a break from but The whole spread out on 3-4 gens from the start and 3 pop will change with this perk. Yes a survivor can wait it out, Yes a survivor can go to another gen, but the point of this perk is to stop the next gen from popping. 30 seconds is not much but I have has SO MANY instances where I am heading to a gen I knew was being worked on to POP it and the ######### pops before I get there. That is the part that interest me is holding it in place while I am hooking and coming to pop it. I actually want to try it with Thrilling to see how it goes (I run my own ideas not others) as Thrilling don't block the ones worked on (how you know where to go) so if they pop one thrilling told me to go to it will block any other Thrilling highlighted for me...Think I said that right.
Lethal pursuer is meta. It goes fantastic with corrupt so you get the most value from it. If you hit the lottery and survivors spawn together.....You win. That rarely happens though it more of spawn in 4 different places next to gens/hexes but still.

Because you’re the big, fast, supernaturally powered monster that keeps trying to kill them? By playing the match you are actively trying to remove them from it, why are you surprised that they blame you and your actions when they die? Ideally survivors would keep their salt to themselves, but that’s never gonna happen. If you don’t want people to get mad at you for killing them in the game, either turn off chat or play something else. You can guarantee that you’ll get salt from other players if you play a PvP game, especially one with a small lobby.
What do you expect them to do, really? Thank you for killing them quickly? I’ve never had a killer compliment me for a 4 minute chase and an easy escape either, and I wouldn’t expect them to.
I have before. I was on a really good run with Freddy once felt unbeatable until I had a 2-3 escape one match and I messaged them saying man you guys were really tough and amazing I have not had any team finish the gens and escape yet. Fyi this was back before cross-play so was a while ago for sure. Instead of a positive response I got hate from them. How do you hate on someone giving you a compliment? Not long after made a forum account and realized the hate for Fred is strong then not that it's an excuse for their behavior. Switched to Pig after that as my main go-to and have only had one team take her down (3-4 man escape) so far but I'm sure the day will come again.

i'll be honest with you:
this sounds a lot like you being very inexperienced in terms of mindgames.
most (good) Survivors will not be camping a pallet to instantly throw it down. They will attempt to loop you around it until you caught up to them before they drop it, to get as much time out of every single pallet as possible.
However, this is where you can actually do something - you can moonwalk, fake out directions, etc. to catch them out in a bad position when they didnt expect you to play the way you did.
learning which mindgames are effective at which tile and all of that is something that takes a lot of time to do, so you will fail at them a lot at first. - but thats okay. we all had that happen.
and if a survivor actually does camp a pallet, then 9 out of 10 times they are very vulnerable to you faking out going around it, just to then lunge attack straight through it. or, if you expect them to expect you to do that, you can fake out your fake out and actually go around it to hit them when they dropped it to counter your original fakeout.
another thing i'd like to talk about is kicking pallets.
based on your description, you walk up to them, have them drop the pallet and instantly break it - but that is not how you really want to do it.
what you want to do is, to learn the tile strength of the pallet you're playing around at the moment. some tiles you dont even have to break the pallet on to catch the survivors!
but besides that, when you do actually kick the pallet, the most important thing is to remember your surroundings. where is a good window for them to use? where did you already break pallets and they have nothing left to use? those kind of questions are what you will want to ask yourself. and based on the answer you give yourself, you want to break the pallet from the side where all those good things are on. If you break it from there, they will be forced to either run past you (so you catch up quicker) or to run in the direction where they have nothing left, which gets you an easy hit.
if you let the survivor decide where they are going to loop you around, you will not catch them before the game is already lost.
and third and lastly, you gotta learn not to overcommit to chases.
you dont want to chase the same guy all game. you want to chase as many of them at the same time as you can - by that i mean switching targets whenever you see someone in a worse position to get an easy hit and potentially even down on them instead.
and this is where we come back to people camping pallets: there is someone who always waits inside a pallet to drop it immediately when you come towards them? GREAT! just dont chase them. instead, walk up to them, have them instantly waste the pallet and go after another person who then has nothing left to use for themselves.
also, this once again links back into tile strength. if you see someone run straight towards a setup that is essentially unwinnable for you, then you gotta drop that chase or spend the entire game trying to catch up.
and this whole paragraph is just about vanilla killers. every character has their own unique power to them that, in some cases, will add much more to all of this.
a Hillbilly for example can curve around loops with his chainsaw extremely quickly to instantly down someone others couldnt even have hit.
but thats way too much to cover for a post like this, you'll have to look up killerspecific guides / play them a lot yourself for that.
"and based on the answer you give yourself, you want to break the pallet from the side where all those good things are on. If you break it from there, they will be forced to either run past you (so you catch up quicker) or to run in the direction where they have nothing left, which gets you an easy hit."
So many killers even streamers forget this little tactic and has more time wasted because of this. This is great advice as you don't want to break a pallet without thinking first. Rotate once (maybe you get a hit) but the goal should be to get them on the side closest to the boundary wall. This gives you time to catch up (hopefully) before next strong tile. I see this too often killers blindly kick pallet then wonder why they can't get downs. Learn the difference between a safe pallet and a god pallet. Only one you should kick without thinking first. I was able to pick back up shack pallet (AMN) just yesterday...This should never have been allowed.

@TGB said:
Game after game of the same thing.
- Survivor gets found. They run to nearest pallet and sit on it. They flip it when I get close.
- I break it. They run to next pallet during my animation. I meet them at next pallet.
- Repeat this process forever. There is always another pallet. Maps spawn with over 30.
- The 3 other Survivors can finish about 15 generators in the time it takes me to deal with all the pallets.
This is somewhat simplifying it, so please no useless responses like, "Drop chase more, defend gens more, moonwalk more," or anything else the "akshully" type might want to say. I know how to play the game. It isn't a complicated game.
But that's kind of part of what I hate about it. Survivors don't even need to be good. In fact, they often play like a brain oozer. You can see their "thought processes," and calling it 1-dimensional feels generous. They just... stand there... at a pallet... and then move to the next one...
And this qualifies as being GOOD in Dead by Daylight.
Not because it's actually good gameplay, and upper percentile performance. But because it's all you NEED in order to get easy wins.
Now, this won't work against certain Killers, of course. And shame on me for not playing them, I suppose. But this game... is just... ... not fun. For Killers. Everywhere I look, it's Killer mains that stopped playing Killer because they've had enough of it.
My question is...
Why is this what the community wants? Why do you guys WANT the game to be this way??? I feel like BHVR could put out a Tweet that simply says, "Survivor nerfs," and the community would go maximum apeshit.
Coming from someone who uses the entire roster I can say yes some games feel this way but it's my own choice to play every killer. I am anywhere from trash/decent/great with any given character but still have to play rank 1 matches. Not all my killers have the build I want for them or have I put the time in to be great with them as my playtime is split between the roster. That being said I do quite well overall and I know if I just played one character and mastered them I would do even better overall. A killer who uses just 1-3 killers should be pretty nasty with those and do just fine (except crazy rng spawns). I just find using same killer more than 3-4 games in a row flat boring so yeah. If you are struggling this much pick 1 killer and master them. If all goes well pick up another.
-
I am guessing all these post are about tunneling/camping from the start? I hope so as knowing the exact time in a game to slug, tunnel/eliminate, or proxy camp is a skill. Get 2 downs hook near each other and keep eye on closest gen.....The 2 remaining have to come, 1-2 gens left and need to make up some time down one and chase another, 1-2 gens left with all alive..One has to go....Just make sure it ain't you.

So, playing Lery's yesterday, the survivors are being super-immersive. Two gens go by and I'm struggling to find anyone.
Eventually find a Nea, and down she goes. I put her up on the hook in one of the long bathrooms.
No sooner had I left the room, she gets unhooked, so obviously I head back (had zero idea where anyone else was and there were at least two survivors by definition right nearby) and who runs into me... Nea! OK, you want a BT smack and it builds up my STBFL so OK... she gets smacked, and down she goes.
I've no idea where the rescuer went, no scratches, checked a couple of lockers, nothing. So I decide to DS test Nea - changing the obsession is good so I can smack the rescuer safely in case they were the obsession. She doesn't have it... so up on the same hook she goes.
On the way out of the bathroom now I see the scratches, and follow them... and lo and behold it's a would-be rescuer, Zarina. Chase them down and literally grab them as they were unhooking, and the game did this weird bug where I had grabbed them, but the unhook also happened?? So Nea is literally standing in front of the hook blocking it, so smacked her again and down she goes.
Zarina goes up on the hook, and I take the opportunity to put Nea up too (another two gens had gone in this time so down to 1 gen now)... Nea is dead, and Zarina is rescued whilst I was taking her to hook.
The rest of the game plays out and is several minutes of hide-and-seek, eventually they all die because of reasons.
In the end game chat, Nea is still around and immediately cries "tunnelling..."
Like, seriously?
1) She got unhooked unsafely as soon as I started walking away
2) She ran straight into me... maybe she didn't see which way I went because of the hooking animation taking over, but at least follow the rescuer then if you don't know?
3) She got unhooked second time literally in front of the killer (I grabbed the rescuer)
4) She didn't run/move at all after being unhooked and was blocking the hook, despite no BT and no DS (maybe she was stuck because of a bug in what happened, but she didn't mention that)
These are all survivor misplays in my book, but the cognitive dissonance for survivors is so overwhelming that it seems to convince them survivors can do no wrong and everything must be the killer's fault.
Why??
Not in this situation much as I run BBQ so I usually see 1 person at least which gives me a target....That being said though if a unhook happens before I leave the area I will go back to see what I can wreck. If I head for the unhooker and the unhooked tries to use their BT OFFENSIVELY (body block instead of using for safety to heal) I will try and wait it out and down them unless I have STBL in which I do what you did. They asked for it and I dislike defensive tools being used for offense. Even when you hooked her the third time it was not tunneling as you were carrying a different survivor trying to hook them and that is the 2nd time that she could have left to heal. Now you will still get tunneled messages/responses as more than half the survivors in this game think they deserve to being unhooked freely and allowed to heal under hook....laughable.

The window in Midwich I have never seen as a issue. If you can't successfully mind game them just make them fast vault it and it will be blocked by entity. I usually stand in the hallway so I can fake back and forth until I get the hit or it's blocked and they try to run. Agree on the Vik part though he is punished whether you hit or not seems weird.

I decided to download the first Fnaf yesterday (for 2nd time) and finished it today. I did not have fun but wanted to learn more about it in case it comes. Downloaded the 2nd one after but have not played as like I said was not fun. I do however think there's lots of opportunity with a killer and skins for the other bots in the game. I still would rather more legacy killers come first (pinhead, chuck, xenomorpth, pennywise, etc) but do think it would be cool to kill with one of these things.

I love Iron maiden and I get great value with it. If you run BBQ there is usually at least one that tries to counter by hopping in locker. On top of that I see flash bang almost every game (why Idk it never works) which to get their bang they have to do what? That's right hop in a locker and 30 seconds is plenty of time....Most of the time. Even if you don't go and chase them you know where they are which is not a gen, probably have Flash bang and you can expect it.

When i say stomp from my side (killer) I mean 1 or 2 gens done at most and 4K with basically no chase points because end them immediately. when i mean i get stomped its 0-2 hooks. and yes this would average out to be a 2K every game but at the same time i would be way less tilted if I actually get 1-3 kills every game, stomps are boring from both sides I want actual close games. I know i'm not the best killer and have a ton to learn but the matchmaking just doesn't put me with the right people. I would even argue the overall playbase for this game is too low for proper matchmaking.

Man it's still not good enough. I am constantly on killers that only have 1 tier 3 perk, not my mains, not much add-ons and still don't de-pip unless I play tremendously horrible. Couple of hooks, constant chase, and kick a few gens is all it takes to safety pip. Well unless of course I am Mike or Plague they don't do great for emblems unless you 12 hook.

because the thing is DBD players dont want a better game, they look at the small picture and not what MMR can bring if successfully implemented, also it shows how many players might be boosted.
I agree. I have used multiple killers as well to get/give better feedback. My clown game I played last night was about the closest to a slaughter I have seen so far (except for that trickster gm I mentioned) and it's because I had a Dwight doing I don't even know what but was always up my ass unknowingly feeding my STBL. Legit every game so far i either play against children with no hands or i get my ass handed by 12000 total hours SWF that all have fully stacked toolboxes and do totems. It is so frustrating playing this game I actually want competent survivors not the greasiest sweatlords or people who have never played a video game before.
But honestly that's not all why even put SBMM in a game where the entire roster of killers isn't viable except for 2? before adding something like this maybe make sure at least half of the killers are actually good.
And even if we go by the delusional dev's and say every killer is fine, at least make add on's and items an even playingfield. As a killer its unfair if I bring my 2 best add on's while the survivors have a yellow med kit and a brown toolbox, and at the same time if i run 2 add on's that aren't that good and they have a map, a key and 2 toolboxes that is just as stupid. It should be changed how we get items and add on's from the bloodweb in first place if they were like perks it would be way healthier for the game and make it more fair so i don't get punished for not having enough bloodpoints/bad luck in the bloodweb to get my add on's, while survivors can tank all their BP into one character.
So you either stomp them or get stomped soo 0k or 4k....Right? That's a 2 kill average with is considered balanced. My experience has been games where I always get good BP which I can't say for Normal MM. Every game except my Trickster gm has been 1-4k. The ones that were 1k I am sure I made tons of mistakes to get that result. The 4k's were good games and what I mean by that is I did not slaughter them they were 1 gen remaining or even 5th gen done.
@Orion said:
MMR is killer-specific, which will allow them to understand how to buff individual killers better. Furthermore, how would reworking items and add-ons help the current ranking system?
Can't help but think so many are reporting bad experiences because only 1 or 2 escaped or got 1-2 kills. Everyone always so quick to blame MMR instead of the mistakes they make in trial.

Why isn’t there the ability to die on the floor after x amount of time?
Ok I'm down with that as long as it's at least two minutes. So so it does not eliminate the main counter to hatch at the end. All that being said though it would be abused some how, opting out for another to get hatch, or teammates not getting you fast enough opt out, but right now you opt out at 4 minutes it's really not that long but I do understand why it sucks to play a killer who slugs and leaves you there to die. I had a huntress do it to my soloQ once. Just stood there throwing hatchets at us on the ground....That really won't improve her aim.

PS: why I always spawn five meters away from the Killer? Eight matches in a row I hear the terror radius a few seconds after starting the match.

I only meet people with 8k+ hours after SBMM, so yeah, they exist
Didn't say they didn't. Was just confirming that's what he was and meant.
Well looks like they have you gauged correctly based on your play time/experience. You being stomped just means you are not actually at the level of the survivors at that level and will drop you down accordingly. Like I have seen others say if other 6000 hr survivors shouldn't play you/other 6000hr killers then who should they play? 2000 hr killers? That's not fair or better except for the ego's of those survivors which is how current MM has worked so far. Main reason the MMR rating for high hr/ranked players got that high in the first place.
