I've never been flamed for wanting Candyman. In fact, the vast majority of people haven't been flamed for wanting this or that character. It's only a specific fandom that spammed the forum with threads, purposefully denied the evidence in their faces "out of spite", and generally made a nuisance of themselves, which made any normal dialogue impossible. That's why people were upset.

I still don't think its ok to hate a game franchise and all of its fans just because of a vocal minority, a lot of which were trolls.

I'll make a deal. I'll stop, if they stop making threads every 6 minutes about how we need their children's game to be in DBD. Deal?

Its not even worth arguing anymore.

Why can't we all be supportive?

Because it gets annoying seeing "I want (x) character as killer/survivor in dbd" spammed on certain platforms (forums, twitter, etc.)

That doesn't give you a pass to make fun of them. Tell them its annoying to spam and move on.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

To quote BHVR from the anniversary stream, "4 new killers and 4- 5, sorry, new survivors."

Aw, shucks. A cow pic would really cheer me up.

How can it be too direct when two parties are arguing over who it is?

How can it be "too direct" when people are literally still arguing it HAS to be Springtrap despite everything else, the whole movie of Hellraiser is based around a 'puzzle box' and they gave us a small puzzle before essentially confirming it.

The teaser spelled out hellraiser. The Japanese title for the teaser. is named hellraiser.

  • @QwQw said:

That's what I think. Also, it feels too early to already know who the killer will be.

My theory is, as batshit as it is, that we might be getting two killers. Bhvr did say this year would be full of surprises.

  • Michael has an add-on that describes what happened. He can see through walls at the cost of always being in their 1 of his power, which has no terror radius, no red stain, but he moves very slowly and has no lunge.

  • @D34D_B34TB0X said:

I can't really think of a good name for it.

When the killer breaks a pallet or a wall, you can collect the remains. Hide in a locker to activate the perk. Scavenging for the pallet and/or wall remains allow you to craft a "Breakable Barricade". It can take form of both a breakable wall or a pallet. You can place it almost anywhere, but it has to be either a doorway or an area where pallets usually spawn. And you can pick it up after already placing it. (To prevent trolling, of course.)

You need to scavenge TWO parts to be able to craft a barricade. (There ain't a whole lot of pallets.) Press the ability button, and you now have a barricade. For a killer, to destroy the barricade, it takes an extra 5/7/10 seconds. The perk has a cool down of 60/50/40 seconds after successfully crafting a breakable barricade.

I'd like for them to add something like this, however I'm not sure if they'd be wanting to do so.

The extra time is way too much.

Would be nice to just look and go "Oh hey, this guy I just downed is on second hook already. I'll leave him as slowdown while I find someone else to hook."

In the time it took for me to unhook Nea and run back up the stairs BOTH of them started coming into the shack and down the stairs. I prefer Nemesis original design personally (why does the remake look like he's covered in trash bags?) but as others have said it's got to be easier to port his design over from the remake at least initially.

I'm guessing they may do a Mr. X or original Nemesis skin the same way they did the Claire and Chris Redfield cosmetics for Jill and Leon.

I think its cause he buffed up and ripped the French coat after they put it on him.

i think the injured run animation feels sluggish, thats probs why they feel like it is...

It is. You move at 90%

  • @Heartbound said:

Killers do move faster, but getting hit by a killer gives you a burst of speed. Really at the start it's a lot easier for killers, but as you rank up with survivor you start meeting people that can carry the game. It's all about risk management and a roll of the dice. Surviving is a team effort, but pipping or winning is on you individually. Just because you get sacrificed doesn't mean you lost.

To understand the community, well, here's how I feel as killer.

My friend, you have met a terrible, terrible demise. But, uh, y'know, I-I don't feel too bad about it. After all, if...if it weren't from me, it would've just been from someone else, y'know? I guess what I'm trying to say is, life...life goes on. W-well, from—for everyone else, life goes on. Not...not for you. You're...you're dead.

But that's neither here nor there. It reminds me of one summer day in the park. I was having just a delightful picnic with my good friend Orville. And I said to him, I said, 'Orville, I...I have a story.' And he said to me, 'What's the significance of the story?' And...I said to him, 'Orville, not every story has to have significance, y'know? Sometimes, a...y'know, sometimes, a story's just a story. You try to read into every little thing, and find meaning in everything anyone says, you'll just drive yourself crazy. Had a friend do it once. Wasn't pretty.

We talked about it for years. And then not only that, but...you'll likely end up believing something you shouldn't believe, thinking something you shouldn't think, o-o-or assuming something you shouldn't assume. Y'know? Sometimes,' I said, 'a story is-is just a story, so just be quiet for one second of your life and eat your sandwich, okay?' Of course, it was only then I'd realized I'd made sandwiches, and...poor Orville was having such difficulty eating it! Elephants have those clumsy hands, y'know? Actually, I-I suppose that's the problem. They don't have hands at all, do they? They're f—they're all feet! And I-I couldn't imagine anyone asking me to eat a sandwich with my feet. Now, if I recall correctly, there was a bakery nearby. I said to him, 'Orville, let me go get you some rye bread.' Now, I'm unsure if elephants enjoy rye bread, but I assure you that Orville does. Now, this was on a Tuesday, which was good, because rye bread was always fresh on Tuesday. They made sourdough bread on Monday, and threw it out Wednesday... Or rather, they sold it at a discount for people wanting to feed it to the ducks, and then, prob'ly at the end of the day, finally, they threw it all out. I-I don't recall.

I do remember a man who would bring his son to the bakery every Wednesday, and...then go feed the ducks. He would buy all of the sourdough bread. Of course, y'know, you're not supposed to feed the ducks sourdough bread at all. It swells up in their stomach, and then they all die. At, uh, at least...at least, that's what I've heard. Y'know, I-I never saw any ducks die myself, but I did notice a substantial decrease in the duck population over the course of a few years. I just never thought to stop the man and tell him that he was killing the ducks by feeding them sourdough bread! And if you want my opinion on the matter—heh, and I told Orville this as well—if you wanna feed ducks, or birds of any kind, for that matter, it's best to buy seed. I mean, when you think about it, breads of any sort don't occur in nature. They don't grow on trees o-or spring up from the bushes. I don't think birds know what to do with bread. What was I saying? Oh oh, yes yes. So I bought Orville some rye bread. What a fine day it was.

Anyway to make a long story short, the more you play the better you get. Try to soak in the horror atmosphere and enjoy it while you can. When you stop being scared it becomes a lot sillier.

I swear to god if you wrote the entirety of Mr.Hippos rant from scratch you have the persistence and willpower of a god.

At first, I thought Blight needed a lot of skill to do well. I've seen enough and maybe some is needed but it is far less than required from the survivor. He is carried because there is not enough cooldown between his power and being able to M1 at full speed. Perks only adds a lot of icing on top for this character. I got out of a match on the killer-sided Ormond and it was one of the worst bloodbaths in a long time. He has virtually no challenges here, sprints across the map instantly downing everyone too easily. Very unacceptable. You cannot win against a Blight on most maps because they are too open. It is too easy for Blight to win. Too many deadzones, all he has to do is bump into something and it is a free down, most of the time. He also can turn too much at the end of his sprint so there is almost no counterplay to his spammable power.

His charges replenish too fast and there is not enough cooldown after the M2. Not enough cooldown, no punishment at all for missing a M2. He can spam his power and in only a few seconds he is fully charged again. Why is that possible? A well coordinated team should not be required to have a slight chance at winning. If you are less than a 4 man, you shouldn't automatically lose against this killer loaded down with oppressive perks. His cooldown after using his power should at least be twice as long. He has no punishment for using his power.

Blight needs nerfs and survivor needs buffed so it is fair to play against this killer.

I'm starting to think sluzzy is a chad. Its so obvious that he's a troll and so many people are falling for it. I'm on his side now.

The crash problem we are all experiencing is not because of RPD. I have crashed across multiple maps, regardless of anything. The constant lag spikes are the true culprit in this situation.

Unless it really does have something to do with RPD in the coding, it being disabled was practically meaningless.

I have crashed four times on the RPD. I haven't crashed outside of that map.

For me, on Doctor it would be having a better survivor animation post shock indicating both for the killer and survivor if they can perform actions or not. Would give players facing Doc a better understanding that they cannot vault(and thus dont stand in front of a dropped pallet like a deer in headlights), while also giving Doc players a little less micromanagement to keep track of with their own power.

Honestly interested in what other mains like to see slightly altered.

I want to feel powerful. I dunno, louder footsteps or more impactful hits.

idk, it's just a hunch for me. There's been a lot of arguments made on how there could be a bonus killer reveal at the end of the stream, and given all the mentions of how dbd came from "humble beginnings" makes it seem that the possible bonus killer will tie in with that idea. I mean fnaf was a game created by 1 guy after years of trying to make a successful game, with fnaf becoming a popular series.

I already know I'm gonna get clowned on in the comments, and if there isn't a bonus killer or if there is but it isn't springtrap, I'll gladly take the L and the clowning.

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

    On a serious note:

There is not much to discuss at this point. We just know that the Chapter will be based on Resident Evil. And thats it. No other information currently.

For me personally - I was never really into RE, so I dont care that much. In the end, it will be a Killer which I might or might not like. And a Survivor which I will most likely not main anyway with mediocre Perks at best.

So I am not that hyped for the RE-Chapter, more hyped for other things which will be announced in the Anniversary Stream.

My point isnt really that we should be discussing Resident evil, just that we shouldnt be focusing on the negitivity all the time.

Then chill for a while and do something else. Personally, I just pick and choose what topics I read and respond to because I don't want to get invested in something that will tire me out.

But the problem is, its every day. I love this game but i have to dig to find any interesting discussions because everything else is just the same regurgitated nonsense.

@Dabihwow Alright, here's my revised version of my concept for Jack.

    Base Movement Speed: 115%

    Terror Radius: 32 Meters

    Height: Tall

The Patriarch’s power is called Family of a Thousand sins.

Passives: The Patriarch will always break pallets, walls, and generators 15% faster.

Special Attack: Welcome To The Family

The Patriarch will lunge forward at high speeds. Successfully hitting a survivor will cause The Patriarch to impale and and lift them high into the air. The survivor will be faced with three difficult skill checks.

    • Failing no skill checks will apply the Hunted status effect.
    • Failing one skill check will apply the Hunted status effect and the Hindered status affect for 30 seconds.
    • Failing two skill checks will apply the Hunted status effect and injure the survivor.
    • Failing three skill checks will apply the Hunted status effect and put the survivor into the dying state.

The Hunted status effect will reveal the survivor with Killer Instinct for 10 seconds and cause the Oblivious and exposed status effects for 45 seconds. The Hunted effect is triggered when a survivor repairs a generator, heals another survivor, sabotages a hook, cleanses a totem, or unlocks a chest and it cannot be removed until one of those actions is performed. Only one survivor can be Hunted at a time.

    Special ability: Diabolical Device

After three generators become powered or you close the hatch, the Doomsaw will spawn close nearby and it’s aura will be revealed in white. Once activated The Patriarch will lose Welcome To The Family and will gain access to Frenzied Sprint.

Frenzied Sprint: The Patriarch will rev the Doomsaw for 2 seconds, before rushing forward at extremely high speeds. Once a rev is started, it cannot be cancelled. Any survivor that is hit while sprinting will be put into the dying state. Colliding with any object will stun the Patriarch for 3 seconds.

Frenzied Rage: Pressing the Attack Button while revving The Doomsaw will activate Frenzied Rage. During Frenzied Rage The Patriarch will swing The Doomsaw widely back and forth downing any survivor in its path. Colliding with any obstacles or failing to hit any survivors will stun The Patriarch for 4 seconds.

    While Holding The Doomsaw:

    • The Patriarch’s base movement speed will be decreased to 110%.
    • All basic attacks will instantly put the survivors into the dying state.

At any time, The Patriarch may call on The Entity to reset the Doomsaw back to its original position. The Patriarch will regain access to Welcome To The Family. The Patriarch will have to reactivate the Doomsaw if he wishes to use it again.

“My little girl has given us a gift, and this gift is with me always. As you can see, the family is only a part of her gift. Which-in a word means, you’re #########!”  - Jack Baker

The Patriarch comes with three teachable perks:

Hex: Tamperer: You enjoy toying with your victims, and forcing them to play your games. So long as this hex remains uncleansed, whenever a generator is repaired, all other generators become blocked for 30/45/60 seconds. Any survivor currently repairing a generator will be forced off of it.

“Hahaha-oo-ee! Hell of a game, right? - Lucas Baker

Corpse House: You’ve seen things, you know their weakness. When a survivor unhooks another survivor, if they are healthy, they suffer from the Exhausted status effect for 45 seconds. If they are injured, they suffer from the broken status effect for 60 seconds.

“Let’s see you scamper your way out of this!”- Marguerite Baker

Mortal Morality: You know your prey can’t keep playing the hero game forever. When a survivor unhooks or takes a protection hit, their repair speed is decreased by 10/15/20% for 45 seconds.

“You can’t keep doin’ this forever.” - Jack Baker

This fits perfectly. I really want this.

My idea was to summon molded, but this is way better.

I personally DESPISE Trapper, even on reworked maps, he may get destroyed by SWF but as a solo, I have no way of knowing where he may have placed traps or which traps have been reset/disarmed. Not only that but an add-on that injures you for disarming a trap? Am I just supposed to leave it armed? That's like a survivor getting injured for waking up against Freddy.

I am more than open for advice BTW, I've kind of become more used to playing against higher tier killers that I've forgotten how to play against the lower tier ones.

  • @Sluzzy said:

It doesn't take long to notice the elephant of all perks on either side: BBQ. A pay-to-win perk on a licensed DLC. Used on every killer for the tremendous advantage and value. This perk is literally spammed in every game. It should be a HEX perk or nerfed to lose the aura reading.

BBQ was released when survivors were much stronger along with maps. Maps were also easier to hide. Survivor perks are always nerfed only when considered being used on a good SWF. The same logic and fair balancing should apply to killers. To beat a good killer you must work on gens for every second possible. You cannot spend your entire match looking and hiding in lockers because the killer will have a huge upper hand as this is the only counterplay provided to stop the aura. He most likely has Ruin so the gen is losing progress when you leave it. Too much advantage for a perk.

There is another reason why being a HEX would be an excellent change to BBQ. A killer that camps can still be awarded BBQ stacks if he uses NOED or when saves occur. He is awarded for the thing the perk was originally designed to prevent in the first place! If the perk is a HEX perk the killer will be in a race to hook as many different survivors as possible before the totem is destroyed. This will create pressure on the killer to guard totems, gens, and hook survivors in the process instead of camping and being awarded for it with a perk.

If it is not a HEX perk it needs to lose the aura reading because it gives too much value for one perk alone. This perk has been overpowered and abused by high mobility killers way too long.

    Silly Sluzzy!
