Hi, I'm around rank 9 as survivor with like 290 hours as killer and when the whole Tinkerer/Ruin meta came around, I never really used either perks because I'd just have enough of a sense to know where to go so that I could use pop, so I don't know what survivors tend to do against Tinkerer nor do I know when to expect a killer to make use of their Tinkerer proc, so when I get around that spot where it activates should I try to stealth or make distance, or hop off the gen for a second and keep an eye on what's going on around the corner, I have a very stealthy playstyle because I play solo, but Tinkerer is really an antithesis to my whole style, so what should I do?

Its pretty hard to definitely counter so i guess it varies from killer to killer. When you hit 70% percent, hide until you know the killer is in a chase, then finish the gen.

Lately I see a lot of killers with 32 meters and now with The Trickster it is 24 meters, will we ever have new killers that are 16 meters or less? With the exception of Myers and Huntress, I feel that they would bring new sensations of the game to be more attentive and restless above all. There should be more stealth killers in my personal opinion (No stalkers)

    Myers

    nvm

Is it available for console? If not, I’ll find videos of somebody else playing. Not gonna lie, all these FNAF threads have got me intrigued lol.

Sorry to get back to you so late, yeah it is.

  • @KiwiCoattails said:

I’m not against it, but I’m also not familiar with the source material. The first time I heard about it was through this forum lol.

As long as we get a cool killer and survivor, I’m not against any licensed chapters.

I think you'd like it. The story is a little confusing but the payoff is worth it.

    Killer: Jason Voorhees (The Slasher)

Death curse: after hitting a survivor his aura will be revealed for 30 seconds.

Momma's wrath: after hooking a survivor all survivor aura will be revealed to the killer for a minute.

New blood: after the survivor unhooks the hooked survivor the unhooker will become exposed.

    Survivor: Tommy Jarvis

Come and get me: after a generator is repaired the killer's aura will be revealed to you for 30 seconds.

It's me you want remember: after stunning the killer you are able to sprint burst for 10 seconds

Die die die: after the gates are powered you are able to link your aura to the killer as well as his aura will be revealed you

Jason will also have a rage meter which means that his rage would increase after certain actions are performed like breaking pallets, kicking generators, being stunned, hitting survivors after his rage meter is full he will enter in rage mode which means he will no longer be stunnable pallets will break instantly he will vault windows quicker and he will be able to insta down.

    What do y'all think?

Mommas wrath and New blood already exists.

Fair enough. But I still stand by how the game series is not anything the general gamer populace takes seriously. That's why there s so much resistance to adding it to DBD.

There will always be exceptions and of course everyone has a different opinion. But FNAF as a brand is just not something most gamers can take seriously. Even if it's become "more interesting" since then. My point is it has always been a kiddy series and always will be and no amount of retconning it after the fact will change that stigma and branding it has.

And that's why most gamers will never accept it in a game like DBD.

Its not really a game series anymore. It should be taken as a novella.

That's fine but that doesn't mean its not well written. For example I really don't like the last of us games because I think the story and gameplay are boring but I don't think dead by daylights lore which I find more interesting is better you know what I mean?

To me, silent hills lore is just too flat and convoluted. I still don't know what pyramid head is, and not in a good way.

FNAF only appeals to the same demoraphic that enjoys Backyardigans.

I know that the two are in terms of genre and subject matter nothing alike, but I've never seen a grown man or even a teenager at the time say anything positive about this game series (other than shills in the game journalist crowd -- but that profession is a joke these days). It is something that only appealed to kids of the time being brainwashed by influencers. Same kids who watch Backyardigans.

FNAF is existentially a series that the gamer community practically unanimously views as a "kiddy" series on the level of children's shows like that. It has zero appeal to any serious gamer.

Seems like your using confirmation bias. I could go anywhere and find adults and teens that love the game. Plus, everyone who liked FNaF when it came out is an adult now, as the game is almost a decade old.

Also, your point about being a "serious gamer" is hilarious. You're gatekeeping. Stop it.

Its not horrible lore on FNAF but more interesting than silent hill? Its far off from that game.

Silent hill was always boring and confusing to me.

  • @indieeden7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1983857#Comment_1983857

Robbie the Rabbit is a pretty big cameo in the Silent Hill series, one of the biggest psychological horror titles out there. Fnaf on the other hand is about a bunch of animal robots that jumpscare you (at least they were the last time I played fnaf).

Not really anymore. I'd argue that it might actually be more interesting than silent hill, at least now.

I'm not gonna lecture you, but you should go read the lore. Its pretty cool.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/231176/why-is-everyone-against-a-fnaf-chapter

I ignored the thread initially but now that it's been "reworked" I'll bite.

I don't want an FNAF chapter beacuse I think the FNAF franchise is dumb, stupid and only succeeded beceause it was being promoted by infantile influencers to 5-year olds who thought opening and closing doors was good gameplay.

My nephew loves this series, he was 5-years old or so at the time, but the game was atrocious to say the least. That is not "gameplay" games we were playing in the 80's had far, far better gameplay than that tripe. He loved it only because his favorite YouTube influencers were hyping it and told him to play it.

But the "gameplay" of the FNAF games is just plain terrible. The series itself is also terrible, there is nothing redeeming about it aesthetically or mechanically.

If it could die a million deaths it wouldn't be enough.

I don't want the DBD brand to be associated with dreck like this. It would make DBD a joke. Of course the 5-year olds who loved FNAF back then would like it. But the rest of us would just roll our eyes.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/J5JGW4BZ3M4X/image.png

It would be the equivalent of including The Backyardigans in Dead by Daylight.

Sure, the game may have been pretty stale, ill admit that. But, imo, the redeeming factor is the story. The stigma it gets portrays it as a child's game, with child lore, buts its more than than that.

It became a lot darker as the series went on and definitely distanced itself from the persona it had been given. Most people who liked the game when they were kids are now adults, and so the games aren't as common. There are more books than games at this point.

The games really weren't that great, and will never be as good the Nintendo of old. But no-one really cares about the games anymore, and more for the lore.

And that I can understand to a degree. I honestly would like them to relaunch the series and change up the gameplay.

The next one that's coming out is like a resident evil game so that's cool.

Yeah I don't want it in myself just because I hated the games (I tried the first 3 just to see if I just needed to warm up to it). Although not all fans, a lot of the fans are obnoxious about it and I just don't get the hype myself. Very mediocre gameplay. Interesting lore though.

The games really aren't the selling point imo. The lore is great, its like a sci-fi horror.

  • @Kolossoni said:

UGH, what's with the FNAF fanatics and their obsession towards adding FNAF into DBD?

Besides, DBD killers have always been chasers.

Myers. Freddy, Ghostface, Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Demogorgon, etc.

I don't recall any FNAF animatronics running around chasing little kids now do I?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1982927#Comment_1982927

Yeah, but that's the survivor delegating 3/4 of their build to something that has a 40-second cooldown for one perk, a perk with a 25-second cooldown, and a perk that has a 40-second cooldown, that only goes down if they aren't running. And two out of three perks they can't control when they activate. It's a meme build. Same as something like Deception + Head On + Q&Q

I know, but most of the time, you'll be chasing someone else while the 40 second cool down refreshes. And when it works, it works.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

    Read this.

  • @NomiNomad said:

    What.

    How could.

    What.

It activates for 3 seconds. And has a cool-down of 40 seconds. If anything it could use a buff. I love perks like this and Deception. It's very mindgamey.

By this logic, Deception should be nerfed too, right? It messed with Scratch Marks.

The reason i dont like it is because its just kind of a free pass.

My only experiences with Jack are from Resident Evil Re:Verse (their new multiplayer game) and hearing people talk about being chased by him. From what I've heard and seen, he didn't really seem all that special. He just seems like a crazy human that's strong and carries a big weapon (if he's not and there's actually something more about him, please don't spoil me with the details as I am looking to start the game soon so I can be caught up in time for RE8).

I think Nemesis would be better because he has so much to work with and you can come up with a bunch of ideas. Looking at the various incarnations of him, you've got tentacles, the roar stun (pretty sure it's only in the remake), a rocket launcher, a flamethrower (remake), and a minigun (movie, if they go that route for whatever reason) to work with, all of which are firsts for DBD. Imagine running to a jungle gym thinking you'll be safe only to see Nemesis burn it with his flamethrower and block it off! Or you try getting behind an object like a small box or rock only for his tentacle to smack you upside the head! Obviously these aren't final and we'd need to make sure his power is balanced, but there's so much potential there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1953846#Comment_1953846

It would piss them off even more (or in Nemesis's case, it might amuse him because of how intelligent he is). Pyramid Head sounds angry when he gets stunned, so why can't the Tyrants?

No spoilers, but the Baker family is much better than strong humans.

  • @Mooks said:

I mean, it’s heavily suspected but it’s not 100 % confirmed to come, is it?

  • @Lexilogo said:

For real, if an RE chapter was happening (which I do not think is quite as likely as some people are suggesting) Jack Baker wouldn't just be unlikely, I honestly wouldn't want him.

That's not because Jack Baker isn't fun, but I think the fact he's a decent person being manipulated by the mold doesn't really fit with him as a Killer. Plus, his fun factor comes from his voicelines he wouldn't have as a Killer, and I'd struggle to think of a decent Killer Power. Would much prefer Nemesis.

This isn't because I think RE7 is a bad game. I just don't think the circumstances surrounding a RE Chapter would make 7-related content easy to feature.

I would prefer nemesis, but I'm just throwing it out there.

I mean, I wouldn't say spirit was a bad person, but she got taken.

  • @Sluzzy said:

Continously nerfing survivors and buffing of killers since the game was released has made the killer role way too easy. Nerfing survivors over and over, nerfing survivor perks, nerfing map sizes, significantly nerfing survivor defenses, and releasing powerful killer perks, slowgen perks, tracking perks, and buffing perks to be unfair such as tinkerer where it punishes the other side for doing the objective. They are oblivious to how lopsided and easy killer has become. Buffing leatherface, doctor, and clown when they didn't really need it.

Streamers boasting of huge long winstreaks, hardly breaking a sweat, the other side has hardly any chance whatsoever to win. It is not even entertaining to watch. It is not only entertainers. Because you have some experience in killer shouldn't be a green light to win 99% or 99.5% of your games. The devs should stop catering to one side and make the game fair for both sides.

I'm not sure what you mean by "could have gotten to your destination faster by walking"

You never stop walking. You toss the bottle in front of yourself, at a distance. Check out Trutalent, he has it down to a science. He throws it in such a way that he is walking out of the gas cloud at almost the last possible instant before it activates.

But generally speaking you toss it in the direction of your destination and just continue walking, there is no slow down so just toss and go.

I just think its annoying. You either use a bottle to get an insignificant speed boost or you undershoot it and waste a bottle.

I wanted to make a killer based off of the scrapped Teacher, but I couldn't come up with a power that fits the name "Detention" and remains original and balanced in comparison to the other killers.

I came up with some perks, though. I based them off the idea of punishing inefficiency while simultaneously stalling progress, fitting the idea of an abusive, unfair teacher.

Underpreform (The only one with an existing sprite. Look it up.)

You ostracize those who don't measure up to your standards.

The survivor with the least time repairing generators becomes the Object of Obsession.

Whenever the Obsession fails a skillcheck, gain a token. Whenever the Obsession succeeds a skillcheck, lose a token. Whenever the a different survivor becomes the Obsession, tokens are set to one.

    All effects are cumulative.

1-3 tokens: the Obsession preforms all actions 3/4/5% slower per token.

4-5 tokens: whenever a survivor unhooks the Obsession, a random generator that isn't being worked on begins regressing.

6 tokens or more: whenever the Obsession begins cleansing a totem or repairing a generator, their aura is revealed for 3/5/7 seconds.

Note: this seems a bit powerful. Any suggestions for a change?

Hex: Recess (The sprite would be a generator inside of a jungle gym)

You need a break, and you've decided that the survivors do too.

Whenever a generator is fully repaired, you call upon the Entity to block all other generators for 10/15/20 seconds.

If a generator is being worked on when it is blocked, it explodes and begins regressing.

Note: I feel like there's already a perk like this, but I can't remember.

Extra Credit (The sprite would be a person working on a large stack of paperwork)

You and the Entity have decided to give the survivors extra work for extra credit.

The first 1/2/3 generators that are fully repaired do not count for keys or for powering the exit gates.

There will be at least 7/8/9 generators on the map at the start of the trial.

Survivors gain an additional 15/30/45% bloodpoints in the objective category.

    Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have any ideas for the power? I was thinking something along the idea of teleporting to hooks while carrying a survivor or being able to hear survivors better.

This was clearly intended to be a punisher killer like Pyramid Head, the Trapper or the Pig. I was thinking that the Teacher would be an easy killer, with a power designed to teach new players the ropes, like how to work as a team or preserve pallets for later looping opportunities.

Extra credit is very overpowered, but otherwise good job!

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

On topic though, this looks great! How long did it take you to create it (if you did create it).

    About an hour

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

The main reason for that is because even if you do not interact with an objective for the timer to reset, the killer can immediately chase you off hook and then just slug you and set their 1 minute timer until it goes off. Object needed to be changed but it’s completely gutted along with DS. I’m not trying to prove a point or anything just saying it’s basically useless kind of like how undying got gutted too. If long time survivor mains are not happy about the changes they’ll either:

A.) Run Unbreakable/DS every match which means a high spike in Unbreakable

    B.) Leave the game

Hopefully the Devs will fix something about being slugged immediately after the hook with DS up not needing Unbreakable for it, because it’s in the killer’s favor if they decide to be an A**hole and just slug you after hook immediately or not. We’ll see what happens in the future.

No, a very small group of people do, and they keep taking turns creating threads about it. As for trolling? All I said is I like it better without him in the game, the Fnaf fans are the ones that get super triggered about hearing that.

It has been talked in circles over and over, an overwhelming majority do not want Fnaf in this game. If they do add it, they add it, we cant control that. However that doesn't mean that we should like it.

Its not that you don't want FNaF, I really don't care if you don't. It's that you were obviously taking a jab at the OP.

Look, you can have your opinion. The spam was tiresome, I get it. But respect others opinion even if you think they're dumb. Let others be happy, otherwise you're probably projecting.

  • Why do you need to feel the need to put people down? Just let people be happy. No one cares that you dont like FNaF.
