  • Spamming party invs, empty messages, game invs etc. after dying to sabotage the killer is about the most toxic thing I can think of as it literally forces the killer to stop playing for a moment to block the spammer allowing their SWF teammates to rush gens, unhooks, heals etc.

Since the devs won't/can't do anything about this I suggest you write down their names and just dodge them next time.

If everyone did that these kinda people would eventually play nothing but DBD-lobbysimulator which is a real killer... For their spare time.

Even quentin can't believe his eyes.

  • Can anyone explain how exactly you're getting 1 bloodpoint? I mean... What in-game action even gives exactly 1 bloodpoint? That's so weird.

They could easily say "no official word has been given, don't trust random sources" and let people talk. Like with every other WANTED ip that gets brought up.

Deleting comments and posts is a very suspicious thing to do. Especially given their Twitter following for dlc history lately.

Also, the ending was a bit lackluster imo. But ifs the entities realm, not earth. Things can be different. They can be unafraid all they want of pennywise. They still live in the entities realm of fear and hope. Plenty of food to go around.

I like the movie's recurring joke about the fact that books written by grown-up Losers leader Bill Denbrough (James McAvoy) tend to have unsatisfying endings as if they knew the movie's ending was just... Awful. Anyways you're right about altered conditions due to the Entity's realm. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Can't imagine looping Pennywise, though haha.

  • What if "next killer will be Pennywise!" kind of posts are merely removed as the devs don't want false information to be spread on the forums?

If it's true however his power will be crazy against rank 20 (scared of any killer) and useless against rank 1 (not scared of anything). I mean... Pennywise dies if people stand up to him (or her?).

  • Usually there's always a survivor or even two who hesitates to hop on a gen even at red ranks (unless it's an aggressive team). If someone plays Clown people get informed whenever he's in a chase due to the screams his bottles cause.

This information causes even passive players to play more optimally and run+repair gens like there's no tomorrow.

On top of that Clown's power is supposed to end chases quickly which it more often than not doesn't.

    To sum it up:

Clown: No map pressure, no gen stall potential, no stealth, mediocre chase potential, informs anyone about his location and doings at all times allowing even solo players to play more optimally.

Actual map pressure due to chainsaw sprint > movement control.

You don't even need control at the distance most chainsaws happen.

Bubba's movement control is (considered) useless by some folks because his base range of 15 meters combined with a base top speed of 126.5% is a complete joke and doesn't allow him to catch people around loops. However if people actually took their time and practiced chainsaw-routing they'd realize he's actually got more chainsaw possibilities than Hillbilly given the right addons (not instasaw).

Obviously Hillbilly is -by far- the stronger killer due to his complete basekit that contains insane map pressure AND a legit instadown but still Bubba DOES have the more potent instadown all variables considered (skill, addons, map design etc.) in my opinion.

That's coming from a curving Hillbilly by the way.

    Again: Just my opinion.

Hes saying you need to camp to get use out of the multi hits feature. Its the only thing LF has over billy.

Good survivors won't be in a position for a multi hit unless you force it by camping around a hook.

You can do well with LF but its better to just practice billy if you're not going to camp/go for multi hits because billy is better in every other situation.

So we're just going to ignore the fact Bubba has 100% movement control during his chainsaw attack unlike Billy?

  • Not gonna lie I have no idea what you are trying to say.

Don't let it get to you so hard. I mean I guess I'm a bit toxic myself as a survivor. I teabag at the gates, feels like a ritual at this point. But mostly because I want the killer to chase me out so I get a little bit more bloodpoints. I don't teabag or flashlight click in game.

As killer all that means when they do that stuff, not at exit gates, but like actually in game. Like congrats you hit me with a pallet, or jumped over a window before I could hit you, and then start teabagging/pointing? All that does is make me take off the nice gloves. Usually I always attack the person who saved someone off the hook, don't tunnel or camp. Lot's of the time it ends with me having to hook everyone 3 times. At worst I'll slug the person who did a bad save and go after another person.

But when they teabag/flashlight click me, I see that as a challenge. Like hey please kill me. So they get tunneled with zero remorse, they won't get the hatch if I can help it. I may even proxy camp just to make sure they die.

By the way, If I'm Ghostface...I teabag with the survivors at the exit gate...it's the only proper thing to do really.

I don't camp, I don't tunnel, I don't run NOED, I don't play top tier killers (except for Hillbilly every now and then) so tbagging me at the exit gates means the person is disappointed I didn't try my best to ruin their game experience.

Obviously I will try my best to provide said person a more fun game next time I get them in my lobby. Bubba main by the way.

  • I want ranking up to be neither easy nor difficult but quite simply "logically". If I 4k within 3 minutes due to the incompetence of survivors I want to get my pip and rank up allowing me to play against more competent survivors.

Instead you're either getting a safety pip or a de-pip forcing you to keep playing against inexperienced players who kill themselves on hook or disconnect if things don't go their way immediately resulting in boring/frustrating games for the killer AND the survivors who keep getting dominated by the same killer since the killer can't rank up no matter how often said killer dominates them.

  • At this point it's almost tradition to make games unbearable during double bloodpoints. I wouldn't waste any offerings regardless of whether you're playing killer or survivor. Just try your best and don't expect too much - kinda similar to life. 🤔

I do not mean when he is using it but when holding it. Idk it it's an exploit, add-on or wtv but he run Much faster than even Myers with the red/purple add-on allowing him to move MUCH faster when stalking.

Hillbilly moves at 92% (only -8% survivor speed) while holding the chainsaw so if he chases you till he gets bloodlust he'll actually be able to move just as quick as a survivor while holding the chainsaw.

Also if he charges the chainsaw right on your back you have to move left and right anyways while he moves straight to you which nullifies the small speed difference of -8% which makes it seem like he is exactly as fast as you.

  • @TheUnendingNightmare said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/716973#Comment_716973

My point is that most of the time I can't even reach a Loop or vault.

Not all the time but there's times when I just used SB and Hillbilly got behind me whilst holding down his charge attack in less than 3s.

I'll keep in mind what you said of course but idk I guess I'm just so tired of fighting him higher ranks and starting to see how imbalance his running speed is when holding down charge.

Hillbilly's "default" chainsaw sprint speed is 230% which is 80% (!) faster than speed perks like Sprint Burst, Lithe or Balanced Landing. So always look at him WHILE sprint bursting away and turn left or right DURING your sprint burst IF he starts chainsaw sprinting.

This forces him to stop the chainsaw sprint due to his extremely limited movement control which -as a result- allows you to build huge distance.

If Hillbilly stops his chainsaw sprint he goes into a short cooldown so if you manage to Sprint Burst to the left or right side while he chainsaw-sprints past you - then you will actually have some serious distance in many cases allowing you to run to a pallet that you can loop.

But as I said he's by far the strongest "loopable" killer in the game so always expect to get downed if you're "outpositioned" (not close to safe pallets or safe windows).

  • Hillbilly is -by far- the strongest "loopable" killer in the game. Once mastered he'll make short work of anyone who doesn't loop optimally.

Therefore the best advice I've got for you is loop him and try to force Hillbilly to use his hammer by "cheekily" vaulting when he's right on your back allowing you to sprint burst to another loop granting a "normal chase" and (obviously) dodge his chainsaw by going left or right as soon as he starts sprinting.

His maneuverability is extremely limited while chainsaw-sprinting except for the first few milliseconds (which allows good Hillbillies to chainsaw-flick around corners [example below]) so always look behind you whilst looping and be ready to dodge the chainsaw whilst looping, too.

Ruin is like noed, to help new killers.

If you don't know how to apply pressure, or if you did a bad game, just deal with it and improve yourself.

Yeah let's pretend that every killer has the same possibilities to apply pressure.

A Hillbilly without Ruin at a huge map like Temple Of Purgation will exactly have the same chances of winning against 4 rank 1 survivors as a Clown without Ruin at Temple Of Purgation.

If the Hillbilly player gets better results it's because the Clown player doesn't know how to apply pressure by your logic.

You claim that you regularly 4k with LF using no addons and not using ruin, however what I didn't notice is you playing console.

Try that on PC and you will get demolished quite quickly, claim anything you want on console and I'll believe it.

Are you trying to say PC survivors play better than console survivors? 🤔

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/90609/i-cant-end-chases-quick-enough

I can't either. Chases take me around 30 seconds. Fortunately the survivors I'm fighting aren't very good so I'm fine.

Sometimes I go up against a good survivor and the chase takes a minute. But in these cases most of his teammates are potatoes at the current rank I'm at for Killer so I still end up killing most or all of them.

Being able to end a chase within 30 seconds consistently is elite level... Unless you're playing against potatoes who run into walls after the first hit that is.

  • Farming bloodpoints by itself isn't bannable as far as I know.

Forcing survivors to farm and selectively killing those who refuse to participate however is bannable as you're literally getting "farmed to death" by survivors who -for the sake of farming- work with the killer (which is bannable as well) in that particular scenario.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Haha thank you ♥️ but judging by the fact you know everything I know in terms of his builds, addon combinations and overall chainsaw usage it's save to say there's not much of a difference between us. We're both capable of using Bubba to his full potential which in most cases results in rather quick games and "4k-safetypip" for using his ability.

  • What do you mean by "new slow controller sensitivity issue"? Has there been any recent changes affecting controller gameplay?

I'll just copy what I replied above to another user: "Against good groups, the gens are pretty much all done when you reach 5 stacks.

And if the team you are facing is not good and the gens are still far from being done, you don't need Dying Light anyway."

I'm not a fan of Ruin, either, because it usually gets cleansed way too early in the game. I'm currently trying to find an alternative.

You're right I reckon... If I face potatoes I'll not need anything to slow the game down whereas getting 5 stacks against strong survivors isn't a reliable way to stall the game as they'll fly through the gens while I'm fighting my way to 5 stacks making it useless. Besides... 15% slowdown isn't gonna help a lot against decent survivors.

Ruin: Completely luck/rng based making it frustrating for killers AND survivors.

Corrupt Intervention: Survivors can just hide for 2 minutes making it useless for most killers. Also it only blocks 3 out of 7 generators.

    Tanatophobia: Too weak.

Dying Light: Too weak AND rewards/protects the obsession via action speed buffs AND the fact the killer can't kill them unless they want to lose Dying Light. In my opinion it should be like this:

Hooking the obsession grants a 6% (2x the reward for non-obsession hooks) debuff BUT Dying Light (still) gets inactive if/when the obsession dies.

BOOM - the obsession still has their Dying Light defense AND the killer gets rewarded for doing their job "appropriately" especially since the obsession gets a huge action speed buff for the entire game.

  • Sounds great. Now I can loop killers around the hook and after 10 seconds they get teleported away allowing me to get a free unhook including borrowed time since it's just 20 meters, too. Makes it so much easier to tbag them at the exit gate!

  • @NoShinyPony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/707944#Comment_707944

Dying Light alone will not slow down your game. What is 3% or 6% penalty on 80 seconds? Nothing.

I know it's -on average- a joke compared to the slowdown of Ruin but after like 5 non-obsession hooks / 15% debuff (+12 seconds gen time) it's starting to become SOMEWHAT useful making it a decent late game stall perk that can't be cleansed.

Obviously it's a gamble just like Ruin in a way because you never know whether you'll get hooks quickly enough to make it useful but I think it's worth a try.

I mean... My Ruin got cleansed in LESS than 30 seconds like a million times which left me with no stall perk at all. Dying Light certainly is better than having no stall perk at all... Right?

  • Personally I hate Ruin but I still use it all the time because it works the best in terms of slowing down gen progression at the start of the game. Unless it gets cleansed right away that is.

I think I'm gonna try and replace it with the new Dying Light at some point, tough since my Ruin gets destroyed at the start of the game most of the time.

  • The hatch was most likely closed by the killer. The glitch that happened to you is well known by now and usually causes you to be unable to wiggle, heal yourself, see healing progress if someone else heals you and you're not able to exit via the gate but the hatch escape still works if that bug occurs as far as I know. Hooefully it gets fixed soon.

  • TEAM JACOB !

  • Pig and Hillbilly same tier? Ok then.

  • If healing was forced upon survivors via multiple debuffs everyone would rage quit against Legion - again (and against any other killer that gets easy first hits combined with an anti-heal build).

  • If the devs listened to any "community suggestion" DBD would be dead by now.

  • Sometimes I listen to horror game/movie soundtracks whilst waiting for survivors.

F.E.A.R. , Silent Hill, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc.

  • You lost a game against apparently strong survivors playing a weak killer (yes, I consider Demogorgon a weak killer). That's no big deal. Play against the exact same survivors on another day and another map you'll get a 4k if you know what you're doing.

Winning/losing in DBD is always a matter of skill, luck, strategy, builds, items and rng. Losing a specific game really means nothing even though some streamers act like it was the end of the world and solid evidence that one side is clearly op.

Both sides can seem hideously op depending on the factors I named.

The highest I ever got was I think 13 on killer. I play a lot because it's fun but I am not good at the game. And that was a daily I was doing.

So I can see where you would think that, but I am at the rank I should be at.

You're most likely better than you think. You got 23k against a combination of red/purple/green ranks this particular game even though you were playing Wraith who is arguably "one of the weakest killers" in the game with no stall-perk (Ruin, Pop Goes The Weasel, Corrupt Intervent etc).

They brought multiple toolboxes, too (albeit one's just a sabo toolbox).

  • Well, at devotion 3(+25) you're not a legit rank 16/15 anyways.

  • Am I the only one who just uses moris (about once every few months) to see the neat mori animations? Bubba's mori is so intense people sometimes report me for using it haha.

  • @Cardgrey said:

    @Unicorn @Yamaoka

so your telling me they are going to ignore the entity telling them to kill you to protect you?

Of course not. Anything within the Entity's realm is just a puppet. I was just talking about killer motivations in general as some of them are based on protection rather than pure hate and bloodlust like "typical" killers.

Realistically the only way to get a killer to "snap out of the entity's control" is "beast of prey" but it will still not allow them to protect you as the effect lasts temporarily. As long as we're talking entity's realm there's no way a killer will ever protect you.

  • @Cardgrey said:

    @Unicorn

why would you trust a killer to protect anything?

I mean... Some killers kill to protect things.

Bubba basically kills to protect his family and because he fears consequences if outsiders learn about their cannibalism. He may be scared of his family at times but he knows there's no place for him in this world other than the house he and his family lives in. Therefore he's ready to die to protect his family and their secret making him the ultimate bodyguard - at least psychologically.

    @Yamaoka

No I understand getting hit while sliding/vaulting... that’s why I explained my own issue with it when you’re already on the other side.

Sometimes I wish they allowed us to see hitboxes just to see all the invisible parts that come into play when we get hit.

What do you mean by typical delay?

By typical delay I'm referring to hits that may connect at an average ping of 90 but not at a ping of 0 aka what devs probably use to calculate "appropriate" lengths of loops, vault durations etc.

When vaulting a pallet or window your character model's hitbox basically gets transfered from point A to point B to my understanding. However even at an "ok" ping of less than 100 this character hitbox may be transfered too slowly so even if you run a loop "correctly" the killer's hit will still connect at times due to the "typical" delay caused by pings that are within said "ok range".

The devs will probably have to adjust the vault animations at some point especially when the dedicated servers drop otherwise we'll see even crazier bs hits than what we're used to.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/699316#Comment_699316

    @Yamaoka

Good. I’m sure there will be another year of complaining about bs hits.

Can’t really time your next move when you got connection/latency/overall hit box issues in the way.

This is a fundamental issue with the game and the fact that some people think that because a “survivor” brings it up means it has no merit baffles me considering it is a problem that occurs on both sides.

OP generally complains about getting hit during the pallet slide animation. That's a legit hit in my book unless your feet clearly touched the ground on the other side of the pallet.

As for bs hits I think the main problem is the devs calculate every killer and survivor movement without any sort of "normal" delay. It's not an offline game yet everything is calculated like people were playing with 0 pings.

Perhaps they have to increase the speed of the "second half of vault animations" to make up for the typical delay so if you get hit it's definitely during the first half of the vault animation. What do you think?

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

My problem is when you are clearly landing on the other side.

This is the same problem I have when you get hit through a pallet... you can be on the other side already but because you haven’t come to a full stop you get hit.

This is a problem obviously regardless of your bias.

This "problem" is a result of connection delay. Try to hit Meg in the tutorial towards the end of her pallet vault animation. The hit won't connect if she's "visibly" on the other side of the pallet.

Those kinda hits will get even worse once the dedicated servers drop. People will get hit even when they're already running after vaulting pallets/windows.

  • Are you SERIOUSLY asking why you get downed if a chainsaw smashes through a pallet WHILE you are ON TOP of said pallet? Sorry to break it to you but if I manage to outplay a survivor like THIS:

    https://youtu.be/3xJSdBl2oZs

The survivor deserves to get downed by all means.

  • Personally I think you shouldn't even be able to fall below a certain rank if you have a certain number of hours in the game. I'm still unable to play since the latest rank reset because the TV I ordered will arrive in a couple weeks which means I'm green ranks now and possibly yellow ranks when I'm finally able to play again.

Can you imagine what the matches will look like when a 3000+hour Leatherface main faces 30+/- hour Stranger Things rookies? I will probably 4k-depip at yellow ranks unless I farm which is boring as hell. That's ridiculous.

  • Clown and Doctor... TWO tiers above Bubba? Huntress C-tier? Trapper and Ghostface A-tier? Ok then. 😂

  • Perhaps the survivor also had unbreakable and used it just before you closed the hatch resulting in a full heal?

  • @Horror_Gaming said:
