  • I'm sure all those people that glitched into lockers mid chase also just wanted to "relax whilst having a competitive mindset".

3gen Merchant is exploiting poor game/gen location design. It's as simple as that.

In my opinion it should be reportable as it's essentially holding the game hostage.

It's worse than original hostage Doctor. No skill, no thought process, no legit chases.

You just win because at some point people just run out of spare time.

Yeah, I am also almost at this point. Yesterday I only played 3 games before I just quit for the night and today I already told my SWF-Mate that I wont be playing DBD today. I just cant. After I got hit after vaulting all the time in the first game and got tunneled by a Xeno in the third game, I just gave up. Let alone that this thing can miss every tail attack without real punishment, but tunneling with 5 Gens to go... yikes.

And that female vaults are bugged does not help when my Main is a female Survivor and I am currently leveling up Ellen...

So yeah, maybe I will play tomorrow, depending on the patch. Wednesday is the start of a new Battlepass in World of Tanks, maybe I get that started.

But as long as Xenomorph is unchanged and as long as the vaults are like they are, I probably wont play DBD as much as I used to. And I am playing it for 5 years for several hours each day...

You and your friend should try Overwatch 2 or Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the time being. It's fun to play for a change and easy to get into.

  • Refresh my memory:

Was 6.1 was the patch that:

    - nerfed gens from 80 to 90 secs

    - reduced killer animation after a hit

    - added base regression for kicking gens

    - nerfed DS

    - nerfed Dead Hard

    - reduced pallet break duration

    etc ?

  • Maybe it's because Xeno is so new but personally I bullied that space beetle so much with those flamethrowers yesterday I couldn't stop laughing. But I guess I just got lucky I didn't match a good Xeno.

My prediction is that some people will find the weirdest reasons again why the stats should not be valid. (If we get any stats)

"90% kill rate still means survivors dominate in a SWF ! REEE SKILL ISSUE REEE"

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a fun game. I have been exclusively playing Bubba so far and having a blast.

However I can not see myself playing the game for more than a couple weeks since there is no variety.

DBD has become stale, too but with a billion perks and killers there's more room for interesting moments.

No, it's not. And yes, I am. I highly doubt people are just deciding not to "upgrade" to an exhaustion perk such as SB/Lithe because MFT is "more fun" or whatever else people say. They use it because this perk busted.

Exhaustion perks are stronger and more impactful - especially when people use them to their full potential like 99'd sprint burst. But people already made up their mind and so have I. Made For This is a good perk but nothing special in my opinion.

As killer I rarely even notice the perk and still win most of my games as always. Afterwards I often go "oh... That person had MFT?" because the chases feel barely any different.

Just you wait until it gets nerfed and people go back to sitting on the gen whilst injured with Sprint Burst + Windows so get a 0% chance of getting a quick hit/down.

Knightlight is overrated as a player.

    There I said it.

    Untitled Image

As for the topic: Made For This is absolutely fine in every way. People who complain about it are really asking for survivors to go back to using exhaustion perks.

  • If you play Blight you can not complain about anything in the game.

The fact that survivors do not complain about Singularity should tell people he's bad. But some people are always going to insist there's some super secret way to play him that people haven't figured out in 2 months that makes him so broken.

Even though for the same amount of effort you could just play Nurse and dominate. Hell Nurse probably requires less effort for a better reward.

    This.

People always think they are gifted because they somehow manage to do well with a killer that's blatantly lacking even though they're merely winning their games by (to name a sample) camping as a no power M1 killer whilst facing survivors who refuse to trade OR do gens.

Like yeah obviously you gonna win those games but that's not because of the killer's power.

People need to learn to analyze their games. In hindsight you can often tell you downed most of the survivors without your power or that survivors were not doing gens even though it took you X-number of minutes for your first hook etc.

All those games you can basically forget about. They mean nothing in terms of the killer's power.

  • All I can say is I have never died to Singularity even though I exclusively play solo queue as survivor.

  • 1) why would you unhook someone trying to hook quit? They're obviously not gonna be helpful or thankful after getting forced to play a match they didn't want to play.

    2) it will never be bannable to use a feature. 4% is a feature and the skillchecks in struggle are a feature as well. Why would using a feature be bannable?

  • Singularity is not worth the effort. EMPs need to be less accessible and his overclock should also buff movement speed at base. Only then would be be worth playing imo.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

After countless wins, he lost one. This video proves how busted survivors are! Let's nerf survivor to even under ground.

Not good enough. I still think 3 out of 4 survivors should start the trial hooked and in 2nd phase for optimal balance.

  • Started back when it launched on XBOX One. I still have some old clips that were like 15-30 fps. Feels horrible to watch now. Maps looked so different back then, too.

  • You are absolutely right and the only people denying she's busted are the same people "enjoying" her in that outright unfair state at the expense of survivors.

I'm sure the devs are aware but they probably want to hit a certain number of sales before adjusting her power.

  • Imagine Homelander running around a pallet instead of flying above it...

  • Just people exploiting a bug as always. Imo all of them should be banned.

  • After watching many streams of both survivor and killer streamers I'm sure Sadako basically broken. Her mori is the normal outcome in almost every game for most people.

I guess the devs really wanted to boost her sale rate. Once everyone bought her she will get nerfed.

  • @oreoslurpee said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/385091/sadako-is-getting-her-mori-every-game-now

solo Q struggles against literally every killer, so i dont understand the point there. the best way to counter sadako is to keep a tape in your hands, and if your against a good sadako, nice! she still has very weak chase potential. i haven't watched the thing your talking about, so idk what add-ons the person ran on sadako or what perks, so i can't really give a detailed response

I rarely play survivor and if I do the killer is usually Wesker or Nurse so I was confused watching them play. All they did was run around looking for active TVs until they got condemned and eventually mori'd.

Is it a big deal to find/keep the tapes?

  • I will never understand the nature of people. All they need to do is think for 1 second.

Yesterday I played a couple matches after work and a Nicolas Cage got slugged. I immediately remembered there's that new perk to get healed on getting up himself so I only healed him to 99% as it's quicker than normal recovery, then tbagged once to tell him to get up himself and boom he was back at full health.

  • There really isn't much to say. Everyone with a tiny bit of understanding knows she is similar to "o.g. hostage Doctor".

That's a design flaw. Simple as that.

  • He's designed not to harm the crew.

Jokes aside Singularity is a very strategic killer similar to hag. You're supposed to place pods where survivors have to be so you can infect them all around the map and teleport.

Actually now thinking about it Singularity is basically just a worse Hag since he can't effectively use his power around the hook and perfectly placed pods are just popped with an EMP turning him into a basic M1 killer.

  • Everyone does that. Why would you give the killer a 4k for free if there's a slight chance your teammate can make it out alive?

  • Not sure but I would give it a shot anyways. I like a good challenge. That's why I refuse to play with gen perks.

  • Just... Why...?

i can't wait for this perk to get nerfed and survivors realize that it wasn't their skillful looping winning them the game it was the perk just like how dead hard carried bad survivors and the moment it got nerfed the kill rates went through the roof

I mean... Perks often win the game for both sided. It has always been this way since perks are a core element of the game.

It doesn't need to be in straight line.

    Btw yes you do.

After you hit a survivor with basic attack, survivor runs in straight line away from you. Until you get near loop, there is not much else you can do other than drop chase if loop is too strong.

Btw that distance is about 14 meters.

From just 14 meters will MFT give you 2.8 meters, which is 5.8 seconds.

With simple calculation Lithe give you 4,2 meters of extra distance after those 3 seconds of running. That's 7 seconds

Lithe 7 seconds is maximum, can be less if you screwed it. That's it, once per chase.

MFT 5.8 seconds is not maximum. You keep getting more distance. If you get into window or pallet, you easily pass Lithe effectiveness.

Btw from 14 meters it will take 29 seconds for killer to catch you. You will reach pallet or window during that time. It's less in reality because bloodlust, but I will not get real number without writing it down and I can't be bothered.

It's funny you don't like straight line, because on round loops MFT is even more effective.

Lithe has different purpose anyway. MFT is closer to Overcome, but better.

That's not exactly what I mean.

As killer you want to pick and drop chases depending on the survivor's position and health state.

You find a good looper who keeps 99-ing sprint burst all game near a loop? Not a chance you will get them quickly especially if they're at full health.

You find a "pesky MFT gamer" injured on a corner-generstor? MFT won't allow them to reach a strong loop if you cut their way off. 3% won't change that.

I face MFT gamers like anyone else and yes I notice it takes a little longer to catch up if I brainlessly follow them from a distance yet I feel like they are never as hard to catch as someone who loops well at full health then proceeds to extent said chase with Balanced Landing, 99'd Sprint Burst or even Lithe allowing them to stay at full health even longer whereas MFT will never help them stay healthy in the first place.

  • Explain.

And please don't come up with straight line calculations now because that's not how you play killer. You don't brainlessly walk after survivors in a straight line.

  • Hot take:

Made for this is overrated. Those 3% make little to no difference compared to people using actual exhaustion perks to their full potential.

  • @CatnipLove said:

So you met some miserable, toxic survivors and decided to join them? Great. Enjoy being miserable and toxic.

Isn't there a phrase that goes like "misery like company" ?

  • @Crowman said:

Honestly 4 seconds of Overclock where you can often run out of Overclock before being able to break the pre-thrown pallet isn't worth the frustration of trying to get in that position in the first place.

When Singularity was revealed, I honestly thought Overclock was going to last like 30 seconds and be an actual threat survivors would need to be on top of. But it really isn't.

Agreed. Overclock runs out way too quickly at base. By the way do you still main birb lady ? I remember you were fond of her when she was released. Just curious.

  • He is strong and easy to play at the same time.

Sounds more like the definition of a balance issue to me.

If one role in an asymmetrical game, between all low-level players, results in a 20 loss streak, that's on the game, not the player.

So if I stand still as killer for 100 games resulting in 100 losses it's a balance issue by your logic.

No, just no. Both sided should earn their wins. If you are bad you should lose every single game until MMR puts you against players that are at your skill level resulting in even matches.

  • Nurse because 0% counterplay.

  • @DEMONANCE said:

haven't played him myself but seen lots of gameplay of him by killer streamers and they seem to be crushing it with this dude he is pretty oppressive in the right hands so idk maybe try watching gameplay of him and then you might reconsider?

Not everyone is on PC like streamers. Placing pods on controller is just awful when any tiny movement can turn the location red to name a sample.

@ topic: Same. I think his power is too unforgiving considering the reward for successfully using it.

  • If I have fun I win.

It's a game and I play it after a stressful day at work. No need to stress myself out over something as trivial as the number of kills in this game.

  • I faced him once when I returned to the game recently. He desperately tried to 3 gen but we all escaped even though I had no idea what his power was or how to play against him.

He's high risk / low reward imo. That's why no one plays him.

  • I tried to figure out Singularity yesterday, too.

Ended up going against 2 streaming teams on voice coms which made me realize just how weak Singularity is.

In one of those two matches I would manage to tag survivors very often but even when you're teleporting and rushing through every pallet/window like a train the chases still take too long "in total" allowing good survivors to just go through the gens and escape fairly easily.

His power never really causes a snowball like my main's power (Bubba).

One wrong step means I WILL instadown you. If I see a nearby teammate I can immediately go after them leaving you slugged. Now there's a slug, 1 survivor in chase and 1 survivor running across the map to pick up the slug.

Very often I will down and hook the second survivor before they can pick up the slug.

Now if they heal that's even more of a bonus for me since I will instadown them anyways.

Meanwhile as Singularity every regular hit you have to get lucky for.

You finally managed to tag a "good" survivor?

Well, now you still need line of sight so you can teleport what feels like a bus length behind them just so you can temporarily go after them like a:

    "Wraith with Shadow Dance addons"

That's not much of a crazy power in my book. Many steps some of which are not consistent (tagging through the cameras) for a potential hit.

I think trash survivors will make him fun ti play as but a good team will rarely even struggle to destroy Singularity making him a rare pick in the long run.

  • I think the bots do not have a programmed reaction time which makes it nearly impossible to test certain killers under realistic conditions.

Try Pyramid Head against them and do this for the "lolz": Shoot at them while they are NOT animation locked. They will perfectly dodge the shockwave almost 10/10 times because the travel time allows you to dodge it if your reaction time is good (or in case of the bots literally 0 seconds).

  • I don't know guys... I know I'm a little rusty as killer since I really haven't played in ages but his power feels so wrong.

Last night I played a couple matches and got lucky enough to face a team of tbagging clicky clicky people who I managed to beat but I really only started dominating when I stopped trying to mark them with the pods and stared slugging as a regular M1 killer.

(Almost) everytime I tried to mark them they'd find any tiny object to break line of sight JUST in time.

It seems like it takes a whole lot of luck, an open map and mediocre survivors just to get a lot of markings on them so I can finally start teleporting.

Playing as a regular no power M1 killer felt more effective really.

I will be practicing his power more, though.

EDIT: Forgot to mention when I finally managed to mark them they just deleted my power with the EMPs. Made the power feel like a waste of time. That's about when I started slugging as a M1 no power killer.

  • Watched a stream a couple days ago.

A survivor escaped at 3 gens remaining.

    Nothing has changed.

I think the number of subtle cheaters has increased as well.

  • Very weak killer but fun to play as and against imo.

  • If you camp as Bubba you will get an almost guaranteed 2k (1 dies during the match, 1 close to endgame/during endgame) even if survivors are on coms and doing gens right away unless one of the survivors is cheating to do the gens more quickly.

A 4 man escape against a Bubba? No, that's not happening unless the Bubba messes up completely for whatever reason.

  • They already nerfed gens. They now take 90 seconds at base which is not fun.

  • Perks that buff your injured state are absolutely fine as long as the effect is not anything crazy.

3% movement speed is not insane. I measured a gained distance time of less than 0.5 sec when running from one end of Midwich Elementary School all the way to the opposite wall. That's not a huge effect no matter how you put it.

  • Most people will probably not even remember me but I just wanted to say DBD and "some" of the o.g. streamers used to be very meaningful to me.

One of the few streamers I really liked was Puppers. I would play his stream on the TV before going bed all the time because he was such a chill and funny person.

I can't believe so much has changed in those few years.

It feels like it was yesterday when I watched Puppers and Noob3 team up to toy around with Head On.

    Couple years later he's... Gone.

As generic as it may sound this is a reminder just how short life really is (potentially).

Try and catch every fun moment in life. Make the most out of it.

Don't lose yourself in a daily routine that you don't enjoy (for too long if you can avoid it).

I will miss you - Max / Puppers. Thank you for many positive memories.

  • Balance = 2 kills / 2 escapes.

Blight and Nurse can consistently 4k even against good survivors so they're definitely not balanced.

Imo strong chase powers with no mobility takes the place in terms of balance (i.e. Pyramid Head) as they can consistently catch survivors but not defend generators efficiently so against good survivors typically half the team will die, the other half will barely make it.
