High skill characters? DBD is mechanically a low skill game.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't consider a solo escape as a win.
Because it isn't. It's a 4 v 1 game. 3 people dead = most survivors died = killer won.

Are you implying a solo survivor should have the same impact as the killer ? Or a team full of random potatoes ?
Goes to show who the liar is.

No killer has a killrate that high. Stop lying we have stats.
Show me the solo survivor escape rate since the latest update.

"game is survivor sided because an optimal SWF team can win consistently"
Meanwhile mediocre killer players when they kill optimal solo survivors 80+% of the time:

I've had similar results, non-stop nurses. It's not unbelievable.
Same here as well.
Had multiple days where I would face nothing but Nurses all running the same Groupie, Agitation, 2 Slowdowns build.

You can thank bad Maps and 6.1.0 consisting of more QOL improvements rather than actual buffs
90 second gens is not a QOL change. It's a straight killer buff.
-
Demodoggo.
A killer with fair mobility, a fair chase power with actual mechanical counterplay allowing both sides to enjoy the game.
-
@SuzuKR said:
Why would they nerf Nurse? She’s balanced. Mob opinion isn’t relevant to balance.
A killer with no mechanical counterplay is not balanced.
Her counterplay is literally "I hope the player is bad at blinking".

Midwich is one of the strongest Nurse maps in DBD.
-
Addiction. That's why people play DBD.

Depends on various factors such as the velocity during his space launch, gravity, p-distance etc.
Project Space-Billy has been a full success. He's recently overtaken a space shuttle screaming in joy.

Its funny how survivors blame the killers when soloQ is horrible but most if not all of the time its by their own doing. DCing and hiding and not doing the objectives which are gens.
Yah nurse is a strong killer. Dcing against her wont make it better or change that fact. play the game learn to counter her, do gens
Nurse objectively has no counterplay.
Distance? She doesn't care.
Pallets? She doesn't care.
Windows? She doesn't care.
Different floor (i.e. Midwich, The Game)? She doesn't care.
All you can do is TRY to break line of sight and hope she misses but breaking line of sight isn't possible on any map so there you have it. No mechanical counterplay no matter how you put it.
-
" It essentially gives you unlimited heals while being extremely time effecient. "
Meanwhile reality:
1) you have to run to the nerfed/small radius of the totem which often allows the killer to track you down and even if they don't find you it often takes ages to run to the totem.
2) booning wastes time.
3) boon-healing got nerfed so hard it often takes so long to heal that the killer has enough time to hook someone and interrupt or even catch you before you're done healing.
Circle of healing has become so mediocre I just stick to Botany Knowledge with a medkit.
-
" it's not fun when you have been searching the map for over two mins, and found nothing but faded scratch marks, then next thing you know boom, four generators are done back to back, it's basically a lost game after that "
This literally means the survivors managed to successfully evade you while doing their objective.
It's a PVP game. You're supposed to lose unless you outplay your opponent(s).
-
That's just every Nurse player.
-
They try to make Nurse look for skillful than she is.
-
Friendly reminder that DBD is a PVP game. You are supposed to lose unless you play better than your opponents which you obviously don't if you still struggle despite 90 second gens.

If you find killer too easy there are ways of increasing the difficulty for yourself without demanding the entire game changes.
Run no gen or heal slowdown perks and it evens the field for survivors a bit.
Use less effective meme addons. Or no perks or addons. Whatever makes the game enjoyable for you.
If a killer player has to limit their power by intentionally using bad perks/strategies or whatever it literally means there's a balance issue that NEEDS to be adressed.

I think my Series X can handle DBD... For now.

It's truly sad how people defending nurse have no concept of game balance.
Most of them are console players and don’t actually know what a real PC nurse can do, but still..
Crossplay is a thing so console players face just as many PC Nurses as anyone else.

2 - 3 minutes for a match is not a bad queue time.
For me it's 5+ minutes for a game that needs 5 players per match total.
Meanwhile other popular games with PVP content like Destiny 2: 30 seconds even though the biggest pvp mode requires 12 players total.
-
Even if she was hard to play (which isn't the case) it wouldn't justify her ridiculous power.
She is broken and needs a complete rework of her power.

Current just have only one is nurse.
We need more stronger killer.
Have killer B and C tier too much.
Nurse isn't strong. She is broken and shouldn't be a thing.

Survivors should spawn on the hook

I like the killer buffs and most of Survivor nerfs to perks.
However I think many decent / good killers can now stack so many slowdowns and also tunnel and camp much easier. Slowdown powers are even more tedious and boring to VS that overall it killed most of fun for me as Survivor.
Example: Legion on it's own is weak killer and even with strong build he might not be OP or something but OMG the TEDIOUS level of playing againts it. Slowdown power + slowdown perks + slowdown addons on top of base longer gens. Who wants to play againts that?!
Definitely worth our limited spare time - right? Like seriously... Why would I (or anyone else for that matter) want to play that after a hard day at work?
I'm actually shocked the devs haven't done anything to improve the fun factor of DBD since I left and returned to DBD.
It's been half a year-ish since I was an active DBD player and most of the awful aspects of the game are either still awful or even MORE awful than before.
How hard can it be to nerf tunneling/camping/slugging in exchange for a second objective for survivors (allowing the killer to play and win without having to slowdown the match and play as scummy as humanly possible) ?
As killer I want to have the chance to win a match with up to 12 legit chases starting from full health.
As survivor I want to have a chance to actually play the game and either escape if I manage to dominate multiple chases or die if me and my teammates lose multiple chases.
DBD could be an exciting game but instead it's still all about making the game miserable for both sides.

Yes, Survivor was fairly substantially nerfed.
DH is worse.
DS is worse.
Holding W is worse.
Pre-dropping is worse.
The DH change is 1 thing I noticed during my games. Survivors now do that goofy looking slow animation and basically get BT from getting hit.
Not sure what to feel about that but the slow, goofy animation made me laugh not gonna lie.
@Dead_Harder said:
Congrats on the career. Dh is gone and so is survivor morale. Give it a few days and theyll probably improvise, adapt, overcome. Which should be 3 seperate perks that goes well together btw.
I could tell their morale was on the low side, too. Had a couple survivors just give up and point at hooks. Felt like a huge waste of time for everyone.
Also thank you. :)

Bubba's chainsaw is better in every way except the obvious lack of mobility.
Billy can cross the map and fly to a gen or gate in seconds, Bubba can not.
However chase wise it is just common sense that Bubba is superior as he can literally walk around multiple corners and objects whilst swinging the chainsaw.
Hillbilly can curve around 1 corner at best and it requires a TON of practice to do consistently well with curving and eventually looks like this (even then it requires survivors to mess up whereas Bubba's chainsaw is simply gonna mow survivors down unless they got a good setup):
https://youtu.be/wTsaRbxd9Q4 -
Spirit got nerfed to the ground and isn't top tier anymore is about the most hideous take I have heard so far.
-
Hag can be considered a "power spike" killer.
At the start of the game she's basically a no power 110% killer.
But if she manages to keep survivors injured and trap all relevant places she gets a huge power spike and can snowball even experienced survivors in a matter of seconds.
However an aggressive team will try and deny said power spike by popping traps when Hag carries someone to the hook or by using a flashlight (which doesn't necessarily mean that Hag will lose).
-
Nemesis... A normal 115% killer with no mobility that has to hit you 3 times to build up his power which by itself takes a couple minutes against decent survivors.
How is that op ?

I'm not 100% certain how it works so I won't try explaining it, but imagine j-flicks on steroids, instant 180 turns in the middle of a rush.
Sounds like something that happened on old gen consoles sometimes.
As everyone knows by now DBD freezes often on old gen consoles.
I remember trying to curve as Hillbilly and the game froze exactly when I started the chainsaw sprint resulting in a complete 180 degree turn. I really faced the complete opposite direction when the freeze ended.
I suppose that Blight lag flick worked just like that except they were able to control and abuse it.
-
I played a couple survivor matches last night. Faced her multiple times.
Unfun to go against. Makes me feel like I'm just supposed to run in a straight line when she places a crow at a loop until I go down. Not worth my very limited spare time. Boring gameplay.
-
Unhealthy.
-
Survivors can drop sideways since whatever patch so some probably want to give you the hit and down at the gate but get too paranoid about falling sideways so they leave just before you hit them.
Obviously just a thought.
-
Sad and hopeless. Lost 2 family members this year and got a couple problems I can't seem to solve.
2021 has been the most miserable year of my life.
-
You can probably just ask a mod by posting on their wall/profile to delete it but if you don't want to use the forums anymore you could just... Log out and not use it anymore so not sure why you would waste your time deleting your account.
-
The only killers that aren't fun to play against for me are Blight, Nurse and even though she got nerfed - still Spirit.
-
I've played a lot of survivor the past days and found a cheater who doesn't even change their name. I've met them 4 times throughout the past days.
They always play Quentin and fly around with infinite firecrackers blinding everyone for minutes (including other survivors), insta-repairing gens whilst screaming like he's getting hooked etc.
Obviously can't name them but some people may know who I'm talking about since he really seems to always have the same name and same character (Quentin) and they're not even trying to hide their cheats. Just blatantly flying around sometimes with a flashlight that's so bright it lights up the entire map like an explosion.

Let's make it to where you can see spirit but not a survivor. Let's give out never ending instaheals. Do the devs really think this is okay?
Never ending instaheals? What are you talking about?

I've started to despise Blight. Almost dislike him as much as Nurse at this point especially when it's a player using all his "techs" like hug-tech allowing them to basically hit you everywhere regardless of your positioning.

Factually false. It has been proven that you gain less distance with Sb compared to overcome
I mean... They said Sprint Burst was better. They weren't necessarily talking about distance.
Better can refer to the fact that:
- Sprint Burst can be used while injured unlike Overcome.
- Sprint Burst can be used against instadown killers or exposed perks.
- Sprint Burst can be used to quickly get to a hooked teammate after popping a generator before they hit struggle.
etc.
Or to keep it short: Sprint Burst can be used when you want to whereas Overcome depends entirely on the killer hitting you.
-
Extremely unhealthy design. Rewards failure as its activation requirement is getting hit and promotes hold-W gameplay thus further punishing killers that don't have:
- an instadown.
- mobility to close distance quickly.
- a real ranged attack to ignore distance (i.e. Huntress).
How are you supposed to have fun playing non-mobility M1 killers?
-
@Holkapolka said:
Why cant I use his mainevent when I like it, like Oni ,Shape and the Plague? All of this Killers can decide, when they use their power atleast, to a degree.
Oni: Can't ignore pallets/windows even in his power. Has a charge up time for each attack in demon dash, limited movement and camera control, a cooldown after each hit attempt allowing survivors to get away if Oni misses.
Shape: Same thing as Oni. Can't ignore pallets/windows in his power, can't down multiple survivors in the same spot as long as they all run away at the same time, has a swing and cooldown animation for each individual attack allowing survivors to get away if he misses or even if he downs one of them.
Plague: Doesn't get her power just for existing and has to pick it up at a fountain, has a charge up time and cooldown time for each shot combined with rather slow projectile speed often allowing survivors to get around corners and objects to dodge the puke.
Main Event: Forgiving power when used at point blank distance or in the open. Missing a couple knives doesn't really matter as the only non damage phase is the start up animation, can down multiple survivors in the same place due to the pace at which health states get consumed, ignores pallets and windows as you throw over them and any animation lock is an automatic death sentence due to the high projectile speed.
-
@Sluzzy said:
We desperately need killers that have fair counterplay. They need to remember that the only thing survivors have is pallets in the game. Either give more tools to use or stop making anti-loop, super oppressive killers.
Especially Nurse. She deserves to get nerfed to the ground right?
-
She may be the first non-mobility killer that could potentially be considered S-tier because she has a very strong kit:
- 115% base speed ✓
- power can damage and down survivors ✓
- power has unlimited range ✓
- power ignores pallets, windows, distance, walls... EVERYTHING ✓
- power provides information ✓
- power is pretty much unreactable when used correctly so it can be used consistently regardless of survivor skill ✓
- power can be used to attack people on gens, hooks, gates, totems regardless of the killer's location ✓
That's just my first impression anyways.
