Isn't it 6 meters or so in length? He and his Zombies are still cheap.
It's 5 meters at tier 1 and tier 2. 6 Meters only when he hits tier 3 mutation. At that point most of the gens are done unless the survivor mess around.

This Killer is still cheap and no one can change my mind on that. Everytime I face him, he gets at least 3-4k. That, or at least 1 person disconnects against him.
Don't worry, no one cares about changing your mind. Nemesis is objectively nowhere near op or too easy to play for his strength.
He gives survivors a 3rd health state inexchange for his ranged attack that has a whooping range of 5 meters. If that's cheap to you then any other killer is cheap as well.
Meanwhile survivors have to hold a button to win.
-
Base Doctor isn't good. His shock at base has little range and a huge shock-delay so people will typically scream and still vault windows/drop pallets in your face so he's got no effective chase power.
Always use range and/or discipline addons so you can shock them earlier and/or with less shock-delay.
Other than that there's not much you will be able to do against flawlessly playing survivor as they will walk all over Doctor anyways regardless of experience.
There's a guy literally called HermanTheDoctor who has mained Doctor since (I think) 2018 and even he still loses regularly even though he obviously plays Doctor at 100% of his potential.

What's changed is players have improved massively over the past 4 years. Look at year 1 DBD no one knew how to loop, no one knew how to be efficient, no one properly knew the map tiles. This is funnily enough how killers managed to 4k back in the day because no one knew how to properly play.
On top of that killers had old Ruin which slowed down gen progress regardless of the killer's input AND it still allowed gen interactions so killers were able to use it with PopGoesTheProgress slowing things down dramatically whereas new Ruin by itself does nothing and has no synergy with Pop. That was a huge change.
And then there's the other fact you named which is most people have learned how to loop by now.
As a result killer gameplay -on a high level of play- is in a terrible spot. Survivors don't mess up any loops, don't fall for mindgames (and use stretched frequently to literally look over loops) and they know all killer power weaknesses.
It's just common sense that it's neither fun nor "easier than ever before" to verse 4 survivors that know what they're doing as opposed to let's say 2018 DBD where you would -even at rank 1- verse maybe 1 strong looper and 3 potatoes and maybe 1 competent squad per gaming session.
-
I clipped a few good shots when Pyramid Head was new. Looking at this old clip it feels like the shot was slightly quicker but it's probably just me:
https://youtu.be/XgqOdWEy7gg -
I agree. People that face decent survivors regularly will understand just how awful his gameplay feels at times.
Punishment Of The Damned is so predictable and painfully slow you're better off NOT using it. That's not good design. It should always be more viable to actually use a power than not.
If I can't use his power against good survivors then what's the point? Might as well just stick to Bubba and instadown people that take 1 step in the wrong direction.
All Pyramid Head has going for him is scummy gameplay (tunneling off of the cage). If you play him somewhat normally you will lose to the vast majority of "ok-ish" survivors.
I even have a clip of me shooting a survivor perfectly. I predicted the direction they would dodge to and the marker popped up RIGHT under their feet yet they still had enough time to run through the marker without getting hit. I will see if I still have the clip and upload it here. It's just painful and drops the fun factor of his gameplay to exactly 0% - for me anyways.
https://youtu.be/tVsnaRA6-QkThis was on a 20 ping by the way so people that play with typical 70+ ping may get the hit in these kind of situations.
Keep in mind Pyramid Head is a 0% mobility killer that needs 2 hits to down a survivor. It shouldn't be a miracle to get a M2 hit consistently.
I can get more consistent M2 hits with Bubba (friendly reminder: Bubba's M2 hit is an INSTADOWN that also breaks pallets, closes the last couple meters of distance rapidly and doesn't give a damn about bodyblockers, Dead Hard or Borrowed Time).
Pyramid Head is without a doubt not going to get any love from the devs though because the community overrates him like no other killer. Meanwhile people can just walk through his power or Dead Hard when the marker pops up and hold W afterwards while he's stuck in his 2+ seconds cooldown animation that basically makes him stand still like a useless pile of trash.
-
No.
-
At high level only Nurse, Spirit and Blight.
Any other killer takes too long to down experienced loopers and is too slow to defend gens effectively.
Pyramid Head, Nemesis and (especially) Plague are playthings for elite level survivors.
-
At first I thought they were too much but having played around 30 killer matches since the boon update I have yet to remember a match where I was like "aaaargh god damn boon crutches!".
Their effect is powerful but still manageable... At least that's my impression so far.
-
Name a few buffs you would like to see for survivors
-
Kinda funny that it's still possible to run a killer for 5 gens in (almost) 2022 in a 4v1 game where each survivor has 2 health states and 3 hook states
-
Having played the game since 2017 I have gotten bullied a billion times by now.
However the number of horrible real life experiences I've gone through in the meantime have made it so I really don't care whether I get curbstomped or not. No match can be worse than what life has to offer.
-
It's players that are toxic - not survivors or killers.
A toxic person playing survivor will also be toxic when they play killer and vice versa.
-
Effective Billy curving is mechanically the most difficult skill to master in Dead By Daylight in my opinion. Far more difficult than playing Nurse, too.
There's basically 2 types of curving.
1) Engravings curving which is typically done by standing at the opposite side of a loop and faking both directions until you think the survivor commited to one direction too long allowing you to "take the shot" due to the insane engravings speed.
2) Base curving which is a "wee bit" more difficult as it requires a very specific chainsaw timing and perfect distance to the survivor you're chasing (about 5 meters). Even then they have to underestimate you and greed the pallet. If they however do greed the pallet base curving is almost unreactable even with Billy's base sprint speed and will look like this:
https://youtu.be/9RSk4yToDeY https://youtu.be/W-dG_qqCCxkNotice how both of my successful base-curve-downs happened at almost identical distance which is "just" out of stun range. I can upload more clips without using any addons. (Addons don't affect base curving.)
When base curving you need to time the chainsaw optimally because feathering the charge up bar for too long causes you to lose that tiny bit of distance that makes the difference of you actually getting the hit or "barely" missing the survivor.
Other than that curving really comes down to knowing collisions (you can slide on Azarov cars for instance. They almost have no collision. Same goes for stuff like chests) and obviously having a perfect reaction time as the curve-window is basically just a split-second after the start of the sprint.
-
5/6 meters of range and he needs 3 tentacle hits all of which allow survivors to hold W to prolong chases without any skill requirement.
Yeah no... Nemesis definitely does not a nerf.
-
You realize DBD is supposed to be played with headphones, don't you?

Have you ever heard of critical thinking?

Don’t we pollute the environment just by driving cars as well? No outrage over that though, huh?

First of all - that's worthless whataboutism.
Secondly, it is not optional to go from point A to point B. Vehicles are necessary - BHVR is not. Terrible comparison.

As far as real money is concerned this might reflect my take on BHVR pretty well from now on:

I bet Sluzzy makin a masterpiece to leave people in shock, killer mains surrendering their weapons to balance the game as a last post.
When said masterpiece drops I sure hope... No I expect... Wait no, I demand that it gets pinned for the rest of this game's existence (which shouldn't be too long considering the current NFT affair).
-
Low MMR experience be like
-
7 blatant cheaters so far who:
- instaheal cheated in my face from dying state to healthy state multiple times in a row. (Reported them with video evidence.)
- insta-repaired-gens (I had 3 survivors in front of me and suddenly 2 gens popped on the other side of the map at the start of the match).
... And a high number of "subtle" cheaters who "merely" ran almost as fast as me in a straight line, healed teammates quicker etc.
I had one of those "subtle" cheaters as a teammate when I played survivor. A Claudette had no medkit and no healing perks but healed me with We'll Make It-ish speed. Same Claudette ran out the gate at easily 200-300% movement speed (it looked a lot faster than Sprint Burst) when only I was next to her. Her exhaustion perk was Dead Hard by the way.
-
Personally I don't think anyone can make a high MMR conclusion at this moment due to the ridiculous number of cheaters.
There have been so many blatant and subtle cheaters lately - what do think is the number of "suble" that "only" bump up their movement speed by 5% or their gen repair speed by X-% (especially when no one else is near-by)?
I wonder if high-MMR matches looked a lot different if suddenly all blatant and subtile cheaters, stretch res users, modders (who for instance turn traps bright pink etc) were gone.
-
It depends.
Some killers really do not recognize their misplays in chase and some even fail to realize what an overly short match is (A Legion once said "gen rush" after a typical 10 minute game).
However if the killer blatantly goes out of their way to not tunnel, camp or slug throughout the entire match ("fair killer") and the first thing you do is complete a gen after getting unhooked even before healing up typically resulting in short matches where everyone ends the match with low points then yeah I agree - that's just rushing your objective/gens despite the fact you're putting yourself at risk and reducing gameplay for everyone in the match.
You get shorter chases, teammates get less altruism, the killer gets less chase points. That's just being scummy to everyone in the match.
If the killer tunnels everyone off the hook at 5 gens whilst running every slowdown perk in the book then I get it - you have to ignore everything and do gens asap if you want a chance to escape but what I'm saying is nearly all survivors couldn't care less what the killer brings or what they play like.
They'll try to fly through the gens as quickly as possible rushing their objective even if the killer is not rushing their objective and hooking every survivor equally.

BBQ and coup de grace are meta perks ? Ah okay... rofl this forum is a joke sometimes.
Coup de grace is a meta perk on Nemesis.
The increased lunge makes his fist build up anime-like momentum making survivors go boom on contact. True story.
https://youtu.be/km2OPUctni43:10 = Nemesis + Coupe De Grace
-
Corrupt and Lethal is a combination imo. Just like Ruin/Undying.
One is a stall-combo, the other is a regression combo.
-
Personally I don't think there's anything "widely objective" past the top 3 (Nurse, Spirit, Blight) because only these 3 stand out power wise.
-
Meanwhile in DBD: Oh boy the killer is coming! Time to pre drop this god pallet and hold forward for 1 minute until the interaction even starts!

I reccomend back 4 blood for your horror needs right now😁
Honestly I find Back 4 Blood really boring.
Played it last night and felt like... No excitement at all. Maybe it's because I played Left 4 Dead back in the day (a lot!) so it just feels like playing an old game.
Maybe that's just me, though.
-
None.
Almost every killer feels meh when you face a strong team. Sure you can win depending on the variables but if you consistently face good survivors no killer really feels like "the power role" if you mean it as in that you feel powerful and dangerous at all times.
-
1) Cheaters
2) Hackers
3) Cheaters / Hackers

Nurse is playable on console but shes not strong. You dont have the fps for that and turning with an analog vs a mouse is night and day.
I'm on Series X. I do have the same FPS and turning isn't an issue unless you purposely play on low sensitivity.

Since when was adding a functionality to the perk a nerf? Unless something else was announced that I missed?
Thrill of the hunt causes an explosion when survivors start cleansing any hex totem and slow the cleanse process at the same time making it a hex defense perk.
New Thrill of the hunt no longer provides said explosion but instead has the cleansing take a few seconds longer than now making it useless for its original purpose (actively defending hexes when they start cleansing).
With no noise notification there's no way to defend the hex so new Thrill is useless.
-
Nurse is still the strongest by far.
She's just harder to play on console than PC but definitely playable and power wise quite simply a league of her own.
-
I have the same experience when playing survivor.
It's mostly Blights and always with Alchemist Ring + Blighted Crow.
-
Games aren't particularly fun on both sides as soon as you get "seemingly high" MMR.
High MMR survivors:
- know every single killer power weakness.
- almost never fall for mindgames. (stretch for the win)
- do nothing but gens if there's no hex totems.
- consistently find and cleanse hex totems before you even end your first chase if you run hex totems.
- always hold W and pre drop if your killer has a good anti loop power.
- always do gens while injured if you don't tunnel them instead of healing themselves/looking for someone or something (medkit or totem for Inner Strength) to heal them (that's the reward you get for not tunneling).
- bodyblock for each other mid chase multiple times per match while the other survivors stay on their gens.
Against a "high MMR survivor team" most regular killers feel almost worthless so I can see why many killers just give no damn at some point and will camp, tunnel, slug at 5 gens whilst running every slowdown perk in the book.
Going for actual legit "fresh" chases off of gens with 0% tunneling, slugging, camping isn't rewarded.
-
DBD killer fov be like:
-
Having stopped playing survivor I can tell you about the opposite experience.
- Tried to play fair and nice (no camping, tunneling or slugging) without slowdown, without top tier killers, lost most of my matches - got BM'd in most matches.
- Started bringing slowdown stuff but still tried to play fair and nice (like REALLY nice even to the point of ignoring unhooked people that ran into me). Lost about half of the matches even though I rarely got looped properly. Brand new parts and keys almost every single game.
- Today I started playing like a total scumbag with every slowdown stuff and camping, tunneling and slugging. Won every match. Had no fun despite winning. Stopped playing after a couple games.
Long story short: All those Blights, Spirits and Nurses are probably just fed up players who want their input to matter.
If you handicap yourself by:
- playing a non-top tier killer
- playing fair and fun (no camping, tunneling, slugging, spreading hooks equally through all survivors)
- playing without slowdown builds
Then you will have absolutely 0% fun in the long run unless you face potato survivors who don't even look behind them in chase - which gets boring quickly, too.
-
There aren't survivors that play "too good for me".
There are merely survivors that get "more lucky than me" because that's what the game is all about.
- what map do they get?
- where do they spawn?
- will they find my totems quickly if I run hexes?
- what pallet/window rng do they get?
- where are the gates and where am I when the last gen pops?
- what killer do I even play?
- what perks do I run?
- what perks do they run?
- what items do they bring? (typically brand new part + key + map lately)
- where do they get downed and hooked throughout the match (even that can decide how the match goes)
These are just a couple of factors that are so impactful that I rarely give a damn about match results.
So to answer the question I just play the match and move on regardless of whether I get destroyed or not.
I know DBD isn't all about skill. That's a very calming knowledge.
-
Playing Pyramid Head against good/meta survivors is stupidly hard as they will fake just about every action and vault+DeadHard through Pyramid's M2 making his clunky and time-limited power very hard to use.
There are rarely "100% lose loss situations" unless he commits to the chase for a decent amount of time and doesn't mess up in which case all killers should get hits/downs by default.
It's a 4v1 game afterall and each survivor has 3 hook states.
Also comparing him to old Stridor Spirit is a complete joke.
-
Since nobody posted the stats image I will:

@lemonsway said:
Can this special ability get some love please? IT's hard as balls to hit someone and the charging and recovery are super punishing.
The devs intentionally made it difficult to use his ranged attack (charge up phase, no strafing to make it difficult to keep track of survivor movements while dragging the Great Knife, long recovery time after a shot and absolutely no movement speed during the recovery, built-in projectile delay) because:
1) It goes through walls.
2) it does direct damage (unlike let's say Nemesis' tentacle which merely infects you on the first hit).
3) it's an "area of effect" attack which means it can "potentially" hit all survivors at the same time.
Therefore they won't give it any love I'm afraid.
-
I consider Borderlands my virtual home. Played every Borderlands game.
Enjoyed 2 the most and will always have the best life memories in Borderlands 2.
Borderlands 3 I will never forget either as I played it during my longest DBD break. It made me feel melancholic for around 2000 hours of gameplay because unlike Borderlands 2 I played it mostly alone.
-
Never liked the gameplay on Hawkins as survivor or killer. So no, not gonna miss it.
-
At this point it will last forever regardless of its playerbase.
It will forever be the game where you could play just about any interesting horror movie/game icon + original killers inside an environment so exciting that people spent years trash talking each others.
As a DBD dev said according to the anniversary quotes (rephrased as I don't remember the exact wording):
"As long as players go crazy and trashtalk each other on a regular basis we know the game is doing well. If they stopped talking about the game that's when we would be in trouble"
-
I don't really have an idea for an addon change right now but I think the forgotten videotape should do something impactful considering it's a very emotional part of Silent Hill 2's storyline.
I always run it just because of the videotape cutscene.
Perhaps it should alter Punishment Of The Damned in some way similar to Doctor's tape addons that alter the shape of his shocks to either a ring or a long straight line.
Or maybe it should allow you to torment the area you shoot at. That would be neat.

That's why you gotta enter the stage fully naked every single time.
Maybe you're onto something. I'm sort of getting on stage fully naked by running at least 1-2 trash perks every game if that makes sense.
