Lol you shouldn't play any pvp game then
Not a PVP related issue. No one gets nervous playing Fortnite even though it's PVP as well yet I've seen many people say they can't play killer in DBD as it makes them feel anxious and stressed.
It's probably the asymmetrical 4v1 aspect of the game which makes the killer player sort of stand in a spotlight like you're running a show making you feel like you have to perform well otherwise you'll look like you're on stage after losing your trousers.

"But why do Killers run the same exact builds? Did you ask yourself that?"
"Because otherwise gens fly in 3 minutes and it isn't fun."
"Well, the reason Survivors run the same builds, is because Killers can camp them otherwise."
"Hey guys, stop arguing, people are allowed to play with what they want."
"Hey guys, I've not touched this game for 10 years, but let me give you my opinion on the current meta, which actually hasn't changed."
There, I think that's most of it.
Honestly... From the bottom of my heart... Thank you.

He definitely is one of the most fun killers to play for me because:
- getting tentacle hits is easy and consistent because there's not much of a preparation time and the tentacle speed is nearly unreactable.
It makes me feel like I can catch anyone despite the need of 3 hits. That's honestly a good feeling and reduces stress before a match even starts.
- the Zombies while stuck frequently can come in clutch and block a survivor's way or defend a gen while you're in a chase. That too reduces stress.
- Zombies have regularly shown me where survivors are (including some that were camping hatch which I hadn't found).
He is such a relaxing and fun killer to play. Not the strongest killer but definitely better than some people seem to think.
-
Her newly added music is S-tier that's for sure.
-
Actually, I did try to play without crossplay after encountering multiple hackers.
After 10 minutes I was still sitting in queue so I gave up.
Playing without crossplay isn't possible.
-
No... Please... No...... Noooooo!
-
Pyramid Head literally has a charge up time with a sound warning for his ranged attack, a hefty cancel animation that slows him down, a time limit for using the ranged attack of a few seconds before Rites Of Judgement runs out, a long base recharge time, he can't strafe while using Rites Of Judgement making correct positioning mid chase more difficult than you think AND his shockwave has a built-in delay allowing you to straight up dodge it.
On top of that he already got nerfed multiple times. How many more nerfs should he get?

That was a good curve.
As far as your assessment of billy. Punctured muffler helps a ton with over heat. Hell I do just fine without it really. Only when you use double engravings is it a HUGE issue. And that's a trade off of running double. Hit your chainsaws or suffer. A single doom engraving + muffler is more then suffice.
Sure bubba can do loops EASIER. Maybe even better depending on the loop. However you mentioned the key factor. Movement speed
The ability to get from point A to point B is huge. The ability to use it to catch people out of position is huge. The amount of time bubba takes to walk to a gen. Have people hear/see you and get to a loop compared to billy catching you a bit off guard is huge.
Billy is still a top 5 IMO. He has movement, and a one shot that can make a snowball happen in an instant. If you're LOSING 90 % of your games as Billy. It may just be a you issue. Though it's interesting because you seem to have a solid grasp on what it takes to curve, etc
Also I just noticed you're console. So that just may be a other "PC vs console" thing. Where he's easier to use on PC. You also have an... Interesting load out for him
I need to clarify a few things. By cooldown I wasn't referring to overheat but to the literal cooldown animation you get after any chainsaw sprint. On old Billy I would often use cooldown addons that allowed you to cut ways off then use the chainsaw almost instantly again before they make it to let's say a strong loop or main building.
That's what I also meant when I was talking about map pressure. He definitely still has one of the best map "presence" in the game but since you mechanically can't do any actions for so long after a sprint it often doesn't seem to matter as people always make it to the good loop, main building etc. where he is mostly a weaker version of Bubba (imo).
As for the loadout what's wrong with it? I'm not a Billy main so genuinely wondering.
- Enduring: Because curving. I can't ever afford to respect any pallets otherwise you're instantly not in range for a curve attempt anymore. Many survivors do that "last second teleport back drop" so I want to get these kinda pallets out of the way asap.
- Bamboozle: Because 2 survivor options (window+pallet) makes it impossible to get the chainsaw hit on any decent looper. 1 option has to go immediately or you become a M1 killer most of the time.
- Ruin: Well... Because..Ruin. Good on any killer especially fast ones... Right?
- Lethal Pursuer: Sometimes allows me to chainsaw snipe someone at the start of the game. Maybe that perk slot could be used for something better.

Name another game that allows you to play movie icons like Leatherface , Michael Myers , Freddy Krueger or game icons like Pyramid Head and Nemesis.

EasyAntiCheat is a joke and in my opinion no game should ever use it. I've never nor plan to cheat in this game, but the other games i've played that use it never detect the cheats and its super silly to me. Destiny 2 I think used easy anti cheat and if it did it legit did nothing. Hopefully they get some kind of actually anti cheat
Just by the way: Destiny 2 / Bungie has switched to BattlEye anti cheat a couple weeks ago.
-
I feel like the only thing he needs is a fix of zombie pathing. They get stuck on virtually anything. Trees, rocks... Sometimes steam pipes:
https://youtu.be/vETazTMVw3YObviously they could generally buff his zombies a bit and give them better detection, movement speed etc but we all know that's not gonna happen so all I realistically hope for is a fix for their pathing.
-
After encountering numerous cheaters myself I've decided to go back to watching DBD streams instead of playing it.
If I want to play I'll stick to Destiny 2. You know... The game that's primarily PVE that has recently gotten a new contract with BattlEye Anti Cheat.
Meanwhile DBD - a game that's exclusively PVP:
- record hackers
- upload it
- create a support ticket
- enter your ID
- enter your in game number
- enter the name of the hacker(s)
- describe what happened
- link the video evidence
- wait until your ticket's reviewed because every report ticket is individually handled and hope anything will be done about the hacker.
- then hope the hacker doesn't just hop onto another account.
-
I still want a pyromaniac with a flamethrower that can set paths on fire for a short period of time to zone survivors and burn them causing a new status effect "scorched" causing them to lose a health state over time or something like that. Not sure about the variables.

Are you sure? I heard from Otzdarva that looking up changes nothing. You can always hit over it. Its only better bc you see better.
Now that you mention it I'm not sure about it... I assumed it worked that way because I always pull the camera up to avoid hitting the pallet when an injured+infected survivor drops said pallet and I specifically want to hit them instead of breaking the pallet.
I guess I'll have to do some KYF-testing later on.

No I am saying the opposite. It is silly how crouching at a window and such keeps it from hitting you, but oh well.
Oh sorry I got that wrong

@MrCalac123 said:
Crouch. If it's about a window or around head to chest level, crouch before he whips you. It honestly shouldn't be a thing at all but it is so, yeah, crouch.
A killer that has to hit you 3 times with the tentacle shouldn't be able to hit you at loops? You serious?
-
If Nemesis pulls the tentacle camera up it can whip over small obstacles (pallets/windows). That's intended and also allows him to hit a survivor of his choice when he's getting blocked by another survivor.
-
Baby killer! Can't even stop survivors from escaping at 5 gens!
On a serious note what kind of person logs into a game to literally press the win button without playing the game?
Imagine that cheater literally started the game, went into queue and then into the loading screen just to instantly press their escape button when the match started.
A really special mentality to say the least.
-
Last time I ticket reported someone it took them almost a month to answer if I remember correctly.

I've read some things about the client that some of the cheaters use, apparently it can do things like make other survivors complete generators instantly, heal everyone to full health and so on.
I really hope BHVR does something about this, because I worry it might lead to people not cheating getting banned by mistake.
Oh my... That's just messed up. Imagine you're getting recorded and reported because some cheater made you get up like a puppet everytime you get downed making it look like you're the cheater.
I really hope this stuff has high priority for BHVR.

I had a match that cheater made all Dull become Hex to disable my Noed (my only Hex)
I've seen something similar on a stream yesterday. A guy had no hex perks but a hacker gave him multiple Ruin totems throughout the match. At some point it got cleansed and a minute later gens were suddenly automatically regressing again and totems started glowing even though the killer had no hex equipped as I said. Crazy stuff.
Cheating kids really have full control at the moment. Hopefully there's a fix on the way.
-
Yet another hacked match. Cheaters are having full control over DBD it seems. I already came across multiple god mode survivors that picked themselves up instantly.
-
It has only been a couple weeks since MMR. Far too early for the devs to make a conclusion.
On top of that there's a crazy spike in cheating at this moment which may mess with the stats.
EDIT: But I know what you mean. Many if not most killer matches are pretty unfun at the moment regardless of cheating. Had lots of 3 minute 5 gen matches because I played too fair and without slowdown. Meanwhile everyone keeps doing gens while injured just so they can get out ASAP.
-
@Woodywool said:
I'm starting to notice that quite a lot of people are using hacks so sneaky...
For example, I had a match when in the middle of the match 1 generator was done w/t sound notification. It only happens when hacker complete a gen or at the beginning of the game if 4 survs repaired 1 generator in the first 30 seconds of the game.
Another situation, I saw on the stream that survivor failed a gen's skillcheck, after it in the next 2 seconds streamer that I watched teleports (he was playing as Nurse) to him but he managed to complete a gen. I think it's impossible to repair the gen that was blown up recently in the short period of time.
Here the clip about it:
I checked in the end game lobby that nobody hadn't Red Herring.
Let's see what we know:
- The Nurse had Thana with 3 injuries (15% gen slowdown)
- Dwight blew up the gen just before the hit. Blowing up a gen blocks any generator progress for 3 seconds and results in a loss of 10% of a generator's maximum progress.
- Dwight still repaired the rest of the generator in 2 seconds AND STILL ran away with a speed boost (a hit survivor's speed boost lasts for 2 seconds so why was Dwight still speedy all the way to the pallet?)
-
Glad you got lucky with the non hacking survivors. Demodoggo is a good boy and deserves every love he can get.
-
I change it up depending on the killer's power.
I would never want to play 100 sensitivity on a controller as Huntress (for example) since hitting ranged shots wouldn't be possible due to the controller's response curve.

It's not happening every single game but frequently enough to make one lose interest.
And that's why I'm staying away from DbD until this passes. I don't understand why someone would willingly subject themselves to hackers.
Reporting is not useless but it's only fighting the symptoms.
What BHVR needs to do is update the anti cheat or switch to another anti cheat provider. EAC is doing a terrible job.
Slight misconception. There is no anti-cheat in the universe that can prevent cheats that don't exist yet. Any other anti-cheat would be just as screwed when it comes to new cheats emerging. Reports help because then the anti-cheat can figure out ######### is going on and detect those cheats.
Think of the anti-cheat like a series of vaccines for different (but similar) diseases. You need the disease to emerge before you can create the vaccine for it, because there's no way for you to know what a new disease is going to be like in advance.
If that's how it works then I'll gladly ticket report anyone I manage to record in the act but the very next thought I'm getting is:
"what about the huge number of false reports? Don't they slow down the efficiency of the vaccine process massively?"
Or do you exclusively mean ticket reports with video evidence rather than in-game only reports (aka salt reports)

No, at the moment I'm just not playing because everyone keeps saying how hacker-infested the game is. Why would I play a game if, apparently, I'll be playing against hackers every other game? As for my MMR, your guess is as good as mine, since there's virtually no way to tell.
It's not happening every single game but frequently enough to make one lose interest.
Faced a total of 4 hackers yesterday 2 of who I were able to ticket-report as I managed to record them in the act (instahealing themselves from the ground in my face infinitely).
On top of that there's the 'secret' hackers who are good at hiding 'hacked actions' so no one notices it.
Suddenly a person is healed even though you JUST hit them and broke chase to pressure a gen or a gen popped even though you JUST checked it or a survivor you chased runs around a corner and as you come around said corner they suddenly have 'way more distance than they should have'.
Try to prove that there was a hack involved.
Reporting is not useless but it's only fighting the symptoms.
What BHVR needs to do is update the anti cheat or switch to another anti cheat provider. EAC is doing a terrible job.

There isn't hackers every single game. There definitely is more than ever out there but not enough to just make me think Nemesis is super weak.becaue they are hacking. I just think he sucks.
Subjectively I agree that Nemesis doesn't feel overly strong when I play survivor against him. I consider him more of a 'fun' killer than a comp killer.
Still, he isn't the worst killer in my book because although he needs 3 tentacle hits he does have solid anti loop with ranged pallet breaks after breaking out of tier 1 and gets stronger the longer the game goes.
As soon as vaccines are gone and you're T3 people get 2 tapped left and right while you're able to basically just run through pallets like a train.
The zombies are basically 'supposed' to slowdown survivors and allow you to even make it to tier 3 quickly enough for it to matter.
I know in reality though they sadly get stuck everywhere like this:
https://youtu.be/vETazTMVw3Yand gens fly so quickly that by the time you hit tier 3 make the game's almost over (okay, that's slightly exaggerated but you get the point) so personally I think he does need a couple passive tweaks - mostly regarding his zombies.
Maybe one more zombie and better ai ? Or better ai and a little more zombie detection range and/or zombie speed at base ?
Nemesis himself I wouldn't change. But his zombies really need to be a little more consistent.
-
How can you even tell whether Nemesis is good or not with all these hackers around who can literally adjust their movement speed mid chase?
You probably had a lot of 1-2 minute chases that would have ended in 30 seconds hadn't they sped up their character for a second around every corner.
-
There's lots of hackers in DBD at this moment. I'd wait until BHVR drops an anti cheat update to be honest. Just my opinion.

This is over reacting a lot tbh. Some of what you're saying is mildly true. But billy is still strong. Especially if you're good at hitting curves.
I know some people will not agree with me as Billy had quite a big reputation for years but after doing a lot of testing I found him to be kinda bad at this moment really.
His base sprint speed, base curve angle and base charge up time requires you to be at a very, VERY specific distance to even go for a curve attempt.
This specific distance is typically JUST out of stun range so basically a range where many survivors won't even hesitate to drop the pallet.
And even if they don't drop the pallet (real) curving (90+degree) is easily the most difficult thing in Dead By Daylight so no matter how good you are it will always be an inconsistent move and often result in you missing or bumping into the very edge (or invisible collision) of a wall.
On top of that the base speed allows them to dodge a successful curve-sprint very often if you have good internet. You wouldn't believe how often a curve attempt of mine missed by like an inch.
So in terms of pallets Billy is just a weaker and far more difficult version of Bubba. The same goes for windows.
So what's left? Map pressure. Since Billy's base cooldown (post chainsaw sprint) is extremely long (since the devs even removed his cooldown addons for some reason) you can't effectively pressure survivors since no matter where you stop the sprint the cooldown will always allow halfways experienced survivors to get away and run you even if you come from a direction they didn't expect.
Speaking of curves I'm using this opportunity to share a good curve hit of mine:
https://youtu.be/W-dG_qqCCxkWith this kind of curving I'm currently losing about 90% of all my Hillbilly matches. Guess I just suck at Hillbilly.
-
Billy. They hit him too hard imo. The only cheese he originally had was instasaw imo.
Right now he's almost a joke (again: imo).
Easy to loop, easy to mess up with combined with an overheat mechanic that occasionally gets in your way when you're just about to catch a good looper.
His addons are trash, too.
His basekit should receive slight buffs. Maybe a little more sprint speed basekit, a little more curving angle and better general steering at base or a slightly shorter charge up time or a shorter post-sprint cooldown to allow him to cut ways off more effectively.
Anything would do really. But he definitely needs "something" in my opinion.
-
Hopefully the mid chapter comes with an anti cheat update otherwise I'm not too hyped.

explain the differences then
Against Spirit I can just drop a god pallet and be fine for a moment. Doesn't work against Nurse.
Or since you won't tolerate that scenario I'll name a more obvious example. Haddonfield balcony.
Survivors can just sit there and be safe against Spirit. You can't phase through the window. You have to end the phase then vault the window and start the chase while Nurse doesn't care and just teleports right on the balcony and can go for a hit instantly.
Big mechanical difference.
-
I didn't expect to live long enough to see Vigil get buffed :)
The dev update looks very interesting to say the least.
-
Quote: "I mean sure you have difficulty catching survivors so you choose a killer that can one hit."
So much sodium in one sentence. Maybe I just enjoy his gameplay more than other killers but sure I can also play Nemesis (which I find fun to play, too) and hit you 3 times with the tentacle while you "skillfully" hold W after every hit until I catch up but I'm sure even then you'll just complain about the fact he can hit you behind pallets and windows or the fact that you can randomly get hit/zoned by a zombie mid chase.
Or I could play Doctor but then you will complain about being unable to hide and vault leading to unavoidable hits/downs.
All killers intentionally have powers to end chases quickly, find survivors quickly or hit survivors quickly+consistently multiple times (i.e. Nurse, Spirit, Blight especially with Alchemist Ring etc).
All the powers come with a catch. Bubba's catch is he is bound to base mechanics (windows, pallets, distance on top of his charge up time, acceleration mechanic and charge-count mechanic). If that's still not enough for you to run him for a while then maybe you need to learn how to loop and not just mindlessly hold W after every basic attack hit.
-
Managed to down all 4 survivors in literally 0 minutes as pre-rework Bubba. Granted two of them were just meme ing but still the other two tried to loop and run. Still ended in 4 downs in 39 seconds measured from the very start of the match.
Never experienced anything like that again.
-
That's almost how I play except I'm still killing 1-2 survivors (if I can that is) but only if they're "naturally" dying so basically death hook without camping or tunneling.
Other than that I just try to get all the hooks I can get so everyone has a good time.
-
I think Bubba would indeed give good hugs. He looks like a big softie.
As for a killer needing a hug I think that would be Demodoggo. He's a good boy and needs every affection he can get especially since BHVR will send him to an animal shelter soon. 😭
-
I don't usually read long threads but this is a pretty good read with good structure, reasonable arguments etc.
Personally I haven't had too many frustrating matches as killer because MMR "seemingly" noticed that I'm only going for hooks and if possible - no kills and a maximum of 2 kills.
Earlier today I had survivors with less than 1k hours (I sometimes check via steamcommunity on my phone). One of them even had only 300 hours. As a result they made a lot of mistakes allowing me to be even more chill than I used to be. Let 2 of them go as usual and had a really good time.
I don't understand why MMR seems to put you with elite survivors only if you don't 4k all the same. Does MMR take chase duration into account by any chance?
Because I'm sure your Pyramid Head will end chases far more quickly than my Nemesis who basically gives everyone a 3rd health state.

Old Dbd was crazy🤯 I started on 2018 so I missed all of these changes.
So if it was 3 vs 1 you had to do less gens right?
So hatch standoff was if the killer stood on the hatch the survivor could not open the hatch right? I can see why it was changed🤣
Not quite. Hatch standoff was the inability to jump through the hatch as long as the killer was next to it as the killer could just grab you during the animation (and sometimes even when you already were in the hatch due to latency) and the killer couldn't hit you near the hatch as you could then just jump through the hatch during the killer's cooldown animation.
As a result the killer and the survivor were both just sitting on the hatch looking at each other - sometimes for hours.
-
Your options if you don't want to drop the game but refuse to play against boring tunnelers/campers (most killers lately) are:
- playing killer yourself (I know that's not really an option since it's basically a totally different game than playing survivor)
- playing Kill Your Friends if you have enough friends and you set your own rules like no tunneling/camping. Since you're all friends the person playing killer won't be stressed anyways and all the usual toxicity shouldn't be an issue.
- getting into a match with me as killer. I don't care about kills so I never camp/tunnel. I just play to get a lot of hooks and chases so I go after whoever I find and usually let people escape if they're on death hook if I already have like a kill or two.
-
Those quizes are always too obvious question wise. You just know what killer the questions are referring to making it pointless.
Also realistically you can not know what your ideal killer is until you've played them all.
Fun wise I didn't expect myself to fall in love with Nemesis but my god is it enjoyable for me to zone survivors into my zombies mid chase and then go for a double hit. Isn't always possible but when it happens it's so enjoyable. Makes me wanna high five my zombies.
-
I think it was 4 hours (hatch standoff).
During those hours I kept walking to a near-by gen with no line of sight blockers and the killer would try and grab me with old treatment mode so it was a back and forth between that gen and the hatch.
At some point I had my Sprint Burst 99'd and ran to the gen and as soon as he came over trying to grab me I managed to Sprint Burst past him and got the hatch
-
When I was fairly new I played with a dude from UK. I didn't have a headset so we had no communication during the match. Can't just sit there and type a whole message in-game lol.
It was pretty much like playing solo.
EDIT: I still enjoyed it nevertheless. It was a good feeling to know that at least 1 of the others won't let me down on purpose.

He did a lot he held down m1🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah I get that a couple of times as well...the best ones throw a pallet down and jump over it repeatedly trying to get me to go over there. You got me 🙄
When its endgame i just spam my killers power trying to get bloodpoints and ignore them.
I think from now on I will just beat up my zombies if I lose a match and the survivors refuse to leave. Maybe they will learn not to get stuck in a tree at some point. I know they're quite literally undead but c'mon maaaan I'm sure you can avoid walking into that one tree just one single time ! haha...
-
You can do in settings. My R2 / RT is for breaking chains/healing others/repairing gens and A button is for dropping pallets/vaulting windows.
Seems to work for me anyways
