Where is what you said? Or is this not as interesting? Can I upload salty Killer Screenshots as well?

Does Spirit really need NOED? Can I ask more questions? Can I take Lyoner instead of a question?

I mean... Spirit is only the 2nd strongest killer in the game so using the very first perk slot for NOED is indispensable right?

  • @Rivyn said:

Isn't Iron Will a must at red rank, seeing as Spirit is in nearly every match?

Op used Stridor which counters Iron will.

In my experience console has been significantly easier than PC, on both sides. Red ranks on console feels like purple ranks on PC to me. I almost never get survivors who can run me for a long time on console, even at red ranks; but on PC it is standard for a red rank lobby to have some good loopers in it.

That's bs and you know it. I watch Tru3's streams like everyday and half of his games are against complete potatoes who fail at basic loops.

So, getting to the end game as a killer is being bad? Thanks to noed survivors have a secondary objective: cleanse the totems. And you also get points for doing it, so if you don't cleanse bones you're not doing one of the objectives (that is also on one of the BP categories)

NOED is a perk for killers who expect to lose all 5 generators. Now what kind of killer expects to lose all 5 generators? A good killer or a bad killer? You tell me. The only time I used NOED was when I was completely new to the game 2 years ago. I was terrible and literally turned 0ks into 4ks thanks to NOED.

I didn't deserve ANY of those kills and quite frankly every hate message I received for winning only thanks to NOED was justified. That's my opinion. NOED nullifies any type of skill since you get increased movement speed AND a cheap instadown at the when most of the pallets are gone (endgame) leaving no chance for survivors near the gates.

Obviously there's counterplay by cleansing totems but that doesn't make NOED any less "cheap n cheesy".

Just my opinion. Take it how you want.

  • Teaming up with the "opposite team" to sabotage other survivors is a bannable offense so always try to record some footage and report them. I caught a Dwight working with the killer as well the other day and the killer still nearly lost. So sad. I'm gonna upload the footage and hopefully that devotion 3 player gets banned.

  • 3 best:

    1) unique gameplay.

    2) wide variety of killers including movie slashers that you can't play in any other game.

    3) huge variables in gameplay thanks to the huge number of perks.

    3 worst:

    1) the community that keeps trying to ruin the game for each other with passion.

    2) map balance. Some maps make survivor gameplay braindead easy whereas some maps make killer gameplay braindead easy.

    3) gen speed. Gens can pop in a few minutes which makes the game stressful for fair killers BUT survivors NEED to be able to repair them that fast in case of facecamping noobs which makes it impossible for the devs to touch gen speed.

  • Surely you can't be serious.

  • No such thing as a best build for survivors.

This, he's now the second weakest killer behind legion. My main problem with bubba is that he's really just a slow Billy with an hour long tantrum if he hits something, but still not nearly as useless as legion. I can see why they wanted to rework nurse but i hear doctor is next and that's so lame because he's mid tier, i don't see how he needs work before legion or bubba and it seems to take a really long time to do these sort of things so i don't expect bubba getting a buff anytime soon, despite being a horror icon that deserves to be feared

Doctor? Mid tier? All he's got is tracking making him completely powerless against decent gen jockey survivors who don't even try to hide. His anti-loop doesn't work consistently and using his power literally makes him slower while walking (110% in treatment mode) and even slower than survivors while shocking (82.5% movement speed while shocking) allowing good survivors to loop him into oblivion UNLESS they're bad survivors that stay at the pallet during the stun duration of 2.5 seconds.

Doctor most definitely is not stronger than Bubba no matter how you put it. He's a weaker M1 killer. Other M1 killers can use their ability to end chases quickly. Doctor's ability sort of artificially increases the chase duration because you'll try to shock people to shut down loops just to realize they're vaulting a window WHILE screaming (sometimes).

No, just no. Doctor definitely needs way more love than Bubba. And yes, I've mained Doctor for quite some time back in 2017/2018 so I know what I'm talking about. I used any addon and perk combination, tried any possible strategy etc.

He "seems" strong-ish against immersed (solo) survivors who hide in a locker as soon as your static field pops up but against "normal" survivors or semi ok-ish SWF he's just utter trash.

Bubba ALWAYS has a chance to quickly or even immediately down survivors when played correctly - Doctor has not.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

Honestly Leatherface just needs a straight up rework on all levels, addons and base. Even if you buffed him he would still be a weak killer because his power base is incredibly weak. If I had too buff something, it's movement speed when charging, and too make the charge act like charging with Billy.

Billy's charge mechanic would be a direct nerf for Bubba's chainsaw.

  • As killer Bubba, because I'm a little bit of a petrolhead and thus like anything related to engines including chainsaws. Also I specifically like Bubba because once mastered he allows for some satisfying chainsaw plays whereas Billy just feels... cheesy to me (easy mode).

As survivor Claudette, because she's just super adorable and has some nice cosmestics.

  • Leatherface is not weak AT ALL unless you don't know how to play him which is often the case based on how many people abuse him to facecamp after struggling to m1 a survivor for minutes.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

I want the Illusion Doctors to Lunge at survivors! Make them more paranoid!

Now that would be scary as hell especially at in-door maps.

  • Played multiple high rank survivor games today (obviously as Claudette). Got facecamped/1-hooked every game for no reason except for the few games where I managed to win all chases by losing the killer 100% of the entire trial.

And Claudettes are the evil ones? I really wonder why people even bother playing solo survivor at this point when all killers act like every solo survivor was a "toxic tbagging SWF player with flashlights, keys, brand new parts, spamming vault noise etc".

Honestly DBD is unplayable for solo players in my opinion. Obviously other people will have other experienced but these are mine. At least I ran all of these noobs for minutes and used every second on the hook to keep them busy. No 4k for bad killers on my watch.

Well, time to play killer again I guess since that's all DBD is good for these days unless you got a solid SWF team to play survivor with.

I've never played myers, lets play a KYF and you can show me how its done. As a matter of fact, I think im rank 17 or 18 as a killer, I'll let you show me how to juke a myers out.

    What platform?

  • Myers? You mean that killer that literally has to stalk his way out of tier 1 to even get to normal movement speed and only has a temporary instadown unless he runs an iridescent addon? Yeah that guy is crazy op!

  • No.

  • Being injured all the time doesn't necessarily mean you'll go down in 10 seconds so repairing a generator while injured makes more sense than healing in a corner for the duration of HALF A GENERATOR (or even longer if the killer runs sloppy combined with dying light, thanatophobia etc) - IF you're good at the game that is.

  • Imagine thinking OoO required no skills. Reveal your location without skills in looping and routing. See how long it takes till you get sacrificed.

  • @Drazen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/737299#Comment_737299

the problem is the map design are really ######### every pallet is non mindgameable and u can literally go 1v1 most of the killers which makes nurse and spirit the only option to end chases fastest some other killers are viable too but nowhere near as spirit or nurse

There are SOME bs loops but there's a core issue in terms of visibility. Some killers NEED visibility while some killers NEED closed loops.

Huntress and Plague need open pallets while non-projectile killers hate open pallets as they can literally just run around them till they get the pallet down. Personally I think most pallets should have partial sight blockers to make up for the difference between projectile killers and melee killers. This increases the mindgameability of said loops without crippling specific killers.

  • @woundcowboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/92843/how-to-counter-spirit

Definitely try to be misleading with your scratchmarks. It’s always best to slam a pallet down or go threw a window when you know she is phasing because she then has to use a lot of her phase time to go around the obstacle.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/737266#Comment_737266

I don’t get this reasoning. Guessing is counterplay. It sounds like you just want something for survivors to totally shut down Spirit to the point where she can’t catch you. Sorry you can’t ez loop her like other killers. All killers should make you guess better than they currently do.

And this right here is what I hate about forums. You take/waste your precious time explaining "why" something has no counterplay and what "counterplay" even is and people think you're talking about your opinion on something and assume/conclude like there's no tomorrow.

Where did I say ANYTHING about MY opinion about Spirit? Where did I say I want her power to be changed?

And no, counterplay and guessing are two different things and I explained the difference perfectly. If you're unwilling to use your head to understand the difference then I'm not willing to even contribute to this discussion any further.

  • @Drazen said:

U should be kinda hopeless against killer the killer should have more chance to catch u whats the point if u can straight 1v1 the killer like most of the roster

And this right here is the reason why DBD needs an offline mode. Killers want to be able to catch ANY survivor regardless of skill difference (some 0 hour rank 20 killers apparently expect to catch 5000+ hour rank 1 survivors) and survivors want to be able to have long chases since repairing gens and hiding is boring as hell for any elite survivor.

  • Counterplay refers to using mechanics to counter something.

Therefore Spirit has no counterplay as no in-game mechanic can stop her "per se" no matter when and how you use said mechanics.

Example for counterplay: Hillbilly wants to chainsaw you. You hop over a close-by window in time. You just countered the chainsaw by using an in-game mechanic correctly. It will ALWAYS work if you vault (in time). That's counterplay.

Against Spirit all you can do is "guess correctly" and hope the Spirit player is bad and plays without a headphones.

  • But why? Like what's the benefit of dedicated servers? So everyone's suffering from latency equally? 🤔

  • I think many killers don't know what "sweaty" or "tryhard" even means these days. I played a survivor game the other day which went like this:

Legion with Ruin (lasted for 3 generators!), Noed, Sloppy Butcher and... Uuugh... I forgot the 4th perk... Probably BBQ.

Anyways being a killer main I obviously played solo survivor even though it's rarely any fun at all. Luckily I got a team that not only repaired generators with Ruin up but they also cleansed ALL totems as well (I cleansed 2 totems one being Ruin).

After the 5th gen popped I got chased and the other survivor left immediately (the other 2 survivors were already dead). I was about to get hit by a basic attack and I already thought to myself "yeah time to get noed-ed again" but instead I got the speed boost and escaped via the hatch.

After the game the killer messaged me "toxic genrush".

A 15 minute game with no toolboxes, no prove thyself, no nothing and Ruin lasted for 3 generators - that's NOT genrush.

Threads like these make me think "that kind of killer" is like every forum member.

  • Why exactly do the devs want to implement dedicated servers again?

  • @Tucking_Friggered said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/735604#Comment_735604

Then quit the game. You have no entitlement to more than one hook as no system could be implemented that wouldn't allow a free escape.

You don't get to tell me what to do. Besides I'm a killer main which you would know if you weren't too busy crying about survivor perks/items 24/7. I'm glad people like you have nothing to say in terms of balance otherwise dbd would be dead by now.

  • @Tucking_Friggered said:

No, it's pretty telling how petty, vindictive and unsportsmanlike survivors are.

Not wanting to waste hard-earned sparetime versing a proxycamping ruin+noed+mori killer is "petty, vindictive and unsportsmanlike". That's gotta be the most hilarious statement I've read on this forum so far.

  • Thanks for letting me know @BenZ0 @LCGaster @Mookywolf

Hopefully they start with fixing his addons. Kinda feel robbed everytime I see Award Winning Chillis in my bloodweb.

  • Why some people can't handle tbagging in DBD (I think):

DBD is an asymmetrical / 4 v 1 game which results in higher stress levels for the person playing alone (the killer). Some people can't handle stress very well but like the idea of playing a killer.

This kind of person is typically already stressed out during the loading screen.

Now the game starts and the described killer is unlucky enough to go against an optimal team of 4 elite survivors who've seen it all and know every juke etc.

Stress level is now above what's considered "healthy" - if stress is even healthy in any way whatsoever.

Now the game is about to end and all 4 survivors are still alive and tbagging whenever they can. Stress levels are now... Well... Heartattack-ishly high because the person playing killer feels like they're getting bullied by a group at school.

If you play other pvp games you usually win or lose as a group reducing stress levels for each individual as the focus is not on a single person.

  • @BenZ0 said:

I dont think so, would be nice though but I think they will do that in the leatherface rework

    What rework?

  • @SaltySwag said:

Until DC fixing is done, you have to play the most blandest, mildest killer to keep the survivors from dcing.

You aren't allowed to use Purple perks (because they are OP) and not allowed to add-ons beyond yellow rarity.

So no more Award Winning Chilli for me? 🤔 Darn.

  • It's as meaningless as the typical "how are you?". You don't actually expect the person to tell you about their actual feelings. It's the same thing as gg. Just a seemingly polite habit with no deeper meaning to it that's supposed to reflect good sportsmanship.

  • I'm fairly sure the vast majority of DBD's community would appreciate offline features allowing us to explore maps and test perks, items, practice killer powers etc. even if it was some very basic offline features. Too bad the devs are too busy releasing overpriced cosmestic (that I still end up buying haha).

  • @PrincessPoop said:

David because I love his backstory and aggressive personality. If you weren’t for the entity he could easily beat the ######### out of most these killers.

What killers would get beat up by David King if it wasn't for the Entity? I'm genuinely interested.

Clown seems to be 3rd worst Killer, but not the worst.

Uuuuh... Clown has nothing going for him. Even Clown mains consider him trash for the most part. Leatherface has (imo) the best instadown in the game. Clown has farts in a bottle 😂

  • Where's Clown?

  • Claudette because she's adorable.

  • Tons of killers have been camping first hook at 5 gens recently so people are starting to rush gens and ignore everything else. That's my guess. Maybe try Kindred for a while and see if people use the provided information properly.

  • @Fibijean said:

I think it's because people have learned how to play her, and now that there are players around who are super good at Spirit, all the most powerful and unfun aspects of her gameplay have come to the fore. Even players who have been playing for a long time before and after her release, such as myself, have found playing against her much worse and more frustrating in recent months, where before she wasn't that bad. The character hasn't changed, but the proportion of players with mastery of her has.

    THIS.

When Spirit was released obviously everyone would be suboptimal at phasing resulting in loads of scary chases and jumpscares especially when she would come out of phase several meters next to you. Now everyone's learned to phase optimally at red ranks resulting in boring/frustrating games. Someone on this forum described it like this. It's either:

hit - phase - hit OR phasehit - hit.

There is 100% no counterplay. People think "guessing correctly" is counterplay when it isn't.

Even Iron Will makes little to no difference against good Spirits as there's still scratch marks, collision, sounds from footsteps and (often) grass. There is absolutely NO reliable way to get away from a "good" Spirit regardless of the survivor's experience/skill. Survivors turn into "meaningless puppets" against any good Spirit.

Also survivors have no possibility to see whether she is phasing or not allowing the Spirit player to just stand there and wait for the right moment to start phasing resulting in easy hits no matter how "unpredictable" you try to be as a survivor.

That being said I personally enjoy playing against non-optimal Spirits who mess up a few phases here and there even if I still die. It's just boring/frustrating to play against an optimal Spirit as she just collects hooks like nothing.

  • Thanks for the nightmares.

  • For some reason I always liked the idea of Franklin's because it made the game more interactive for survivors as in "where did I lose my medkit earlier in the game?" or "oh nice! someone lost their toolbox allowing me to finish this gen more quickly!" etc.

Why would someone dc over that perk?

  • Are you trying to say hiding/being useless for the team takes skill? If I play survivor (which is rarely the case due to the messed up matchmaking) I play nothing but Claudette yet I NEVER hide unless it's literally the only choice I've got. The reason I play her is she looks adorable. Simple as that.

If you think everyone picks a certain character with "stealth" in mind then I think you're one of those people who are crouching in a corner till everyone dies so you can hop through the hatch.

    Just my opinion.

Let's pretend there was a difference between rank 6 and 4/3 in a game that resets ranks literally EVERY - SINGLE - MONTH.
