  • Since you're on PC it could also be an issue with their connection to the dedicated servers. I've seen body models get stuck in that heal animations a couple times now and usually the clients lagged out but it takes a while for the actual body model of said client to get "kicked" out of the match. At least I think that's what it is.

  • I think that's a (relatively old) bug

  • Moris are most definitely not "fair" otherwise people wouldn't disconnect straight away during the offering screen to cancel the match.

I rarely use moris myself because I always notice how much easier the game is if the first survivor literally gets thrown out of the game within a minute. The thing is though moris are -animation wise- awesome. Everytime a new killer gets released I immediately search for a mori clip.

Question is how do you keep moris without making them irrationally strong while keeping them useful?

  • This happens on both sides. I literally haven't lost a game in months and still VERY rarely get a pip purely because I dominate most of my games too quickly (and because I get punished by the emblem system for using my chainsaw).

I've already started playing completely differently to get my pip. I will kill 2 survivors regularly, farm with the other remaining survivors if they are cooperative immediately and kill one of the other 2 after farming for a bit unless both of them are too adorable* to die.

    * = this is a prime example of a survivor who's quite simply too adorable to die.

Are we living in the same world? Survivors are talking about Spirit in this forum idk, since the jurassic period? Why y'all can't take a joke? It's because this jokes really represents the survivor point of view?

I guess I'm taking things too seriously at the moment as I've been dealing with massive headaches for days now. My apologies.

When crybabies stop ruining every Killer that they actually need brain cells to go against :)

Ironically it's the killer community that looks like a bunch of crybabies by spamming the forums with sarcastic "overperforming" threads.

  • OMG yes please! I've wanted his suit for so long (been a Bubba main since his release). I'd most likely be the first person to buy it.

  • I only farm if I dominate the game too quickly otherwise I depip thanks to the 4head emblem system that punishes me for using my power.

  • "oh so you're Legion then?" nice one haha 😂

Yep, play more killer but have a swf group i play with sometimes :)

WAKEMEUPINSIDE? You two are actually a badass team not gonna lie. ❤️

  • You're a killer main? Always thought you were a 50/50 player. You're on XB1 right?

  • It's a rare bug. Happened to me as well but it was only one specific survivor I couldn't hook.

  • I'm at about 3500 hours and still have my potato moments every once in a while. It's just normal. We're humans not robots. No one plays optimally at all times.

  • ONLINE PVP games naturally attract all kinds of people including childish persons. It's not a survivor or killer thing but more like a... People hate losing and take things too seriously - thing. I'm playing RDR2 Online every now and then and let me tell you I can't play a single time without getting insulted and harassed by random people.

Someone even insulted me over the course of 1 week even though I ignored ALL OF HIS MESSAGES. That guy went from "you sad **** I can tell that your life sucks"

    to

"so what have you done today? I went to the zoo and visited my granny. Stop ignoring me. We will talk this out one way or another".

That's just how people act in PVP games at times which is why I prefer offline games. If DBD had an offline mode with all kinds of advanced AI settings I would probably never play online again.

  • Your noed profile picture makes this thread inevitably hilarious just saying 😂

Ranks overall aren't the issue its the small minority of god teams with thousands of hours.

Statistics are focused on the overall not just the 1% going try hard in swf.

Every killer has to lose against "top teams" once in a while for the greater good because of the devs (explanation below).

IF all killers were balanced to handle the 1% top SWF teams in the world solos would stand no chance at all and the overall survival rate would probably drop to the mid 20% low 30% range across all ranks.

Beating most solos is a joke right now... A bad joke at that and that's coming from a Bubba main who has to 115% his way through oversized maps while eating every pallet in my way.

I don't even play as often as I used to because I know I will win anyways (most of the time) even if I mess up quite a bit and waste too much time on someone. I don't even feel like I achieved anything after winning these days. Like woow I beat a bunch of solos. Woow... So impressive.

The only way to keep the game somewhat fair while buffing killers is closing the solo/SWF gap which is something the devs will never do. Therefore I stick to my opinion when it comes to "top teams". Killers have to lose against them till the devs close the solo/SWF gap.

Again: That's my opinion and I don't care whether someone agrees with me or not.

And teams of experienced survivors win most of their games against experienced killers.

Statistically most survivors die regardless of ranks.

  • What are you even trying to say?

  • Survivors already lose most of their games against experienced killers. What else do you want?

  • G) Other.

As survivor I'm kind of "gen aggressive" even though I don't even care about escaping too much. As a result my build is all about losing the killer as quickly as possible and pumping out gens even while injured.

I never heal (takes too long for my taste) and I rarely hide excessively just so I can repair gens whenever I'm not getting chased. My weakness is mostly altruism and defense. I don't run decisive or borrowed time so I can easily get tunneled into oblivion AND if I unhook someone they can get tunneled easily as well.

I rarely unhook for that reason WHICH HOWEVER is very often the right choice in my case. Everytime someone gets hooked I stay on my gen and only seconds later they get unhooked (most of the time). That's why I don't hide from BBQ, too. Just so I can lure the killer to the other side of the map allowing the random team to heal everyone and get on the gens.

Also I always start with the middle gen by any means because: I don't mind getting chased and if I don't pump out the middle gen all those random survivors end up 3-genning themselves.

Same reason i care about the challenges, they're fun. I like have an objective other than "hold rb". I realize you're trying to write off my complaint by saying the achievements don't even matter and you're right...

But why do you play video games again? I mean you're doing nothing but setting down and staring at lights for hours on end. What you're doing doesn't matter, but it sure is fun tho

I realize it's probably fun for you to collect achievements but honestly I think most of DBD's achievements are just "blunt" so I often wonder why people care. Bubba's 100 chainsaw hit achievement literally just forces you to play him for a while. It's not actually a challenge or anything.

  • Why do you care about achievements again?

I really understand what youre tryna say

killers are already so much boosted by the devs .. each patch they get buffs and survivors get nerfs.. and on top of that .. most of survivors are potatoes cant even loop safe pallets ONCE. just drop instantly

and killers camp and tunnel 90 % of matches

RUIN adds salt to the wound as its been buffed ( its hiding spot ) its not as easy to be found anymore

dont bother replying to people mocking you for searching for ruin

if you can hit the skill check, what guarantess the rest 3 can do so ?

    people jsut dont think

now maps have less pallets no more safe windows and new maps with BS pallets like dude why did they even add pallets in the new map ? lmfao theyre so trash

and good luck finding totems on new map hahaha game is indeed pretty frustrating for survivors.

I took a break today.. not coming back soon.

I'd keep an eye on future patch notes.. though I know its gonna be the same as has been since 2016..

    MORE SURVIVOR NERFS

I only played on Hawkins once and the survivors found my totem just after 1 minute even though it was hidden behind a box on the first floor... Recorded it, too in case you don't believe me.

  • I always spin Bubba around during his chainsaw attack after downing someone. Not sure why I keep doing that, though.

  • There is absolutely no difference between PC survivors and XBOX survivors. You're just not as skilled on PC / with mouse+keyboard yet as you're used to playing with a controller.

Not only have I played on red ranks on XBOX as survivor AND killer but I also watch PC streamers almost everyday since watching regular TV is just awful.

Therefore I watch most of Tru3's games and often realize how many potatoes he goes against despite the fact he's rank1 in no time every season.

  • So you really wander around for 30 minutes instead of doing gens while Ruin is up? Are you sure you're rank1?

  • @Mister_xD said:

i believe he is going to have 2 different modes:

a mode with injected flower nectar and one without. i also think the flowers from last years halloween event will return with him as a side objective for both him and the survivors. here is how i think it works: the flowers spawn all around the map. both killer and survivors can interact with them and harvest their nectar.if the survivors succesfully harvested all the nectar from a plant, it dries up and dies, making it ununsable for the killer (for a set time, then the flower respawns). if the killer however interacts with one of these flowers, he fills up his syringe and is now able to enter his injected mode whenever he wants. this mode will probaply consist of him getting some sick buffs (similar to a plague collecting her corrupt purge) in movementspeed and "strength" - whatever that means. if he runs out however, he will eigther drop into a 115% mms mode (like any other normal killer), or actually in a weakened state with only 110% mms.

but what does "strength" reffer to? this could mean many things:

he might be able to oneshot survivors in this mode, he might be able to destroy pallets with a mere swing of his M1, he might also be able to flatten windows, making them a normal path to walk through with an animation or he might be able to just immediately grab survivors who come too close to him.

of course this mode would be timelimited, so he needs to refill on flowers all the time.

this would also lead to survivors finally getting a secondary objective, as they would now have to decide weather they do gens or harvest nectar to deny the killer his powerful form.

ofc thats all just speculation, however thats what i think could happen.

we'll find out soon enough ^^

Now you got me hyped for something that could possibly turn out completely differently haha.

  • 2 dcs, a killer carrying around the 3rd survivor looking for the 4th survivor for 15 minutes... You know what this sounds like, don't you?

  • It's (still) called instasaw because with his best charge addons the charge time drops down into the (very) high-1 second range. That's pretty much using the chainsaw "instantly" in my book.

Also I'm sad now. You reminded me of og tinkerer. That perk was pretty much part of any build I ran on any killer. R.I.P. old tinkerer perk. I will miss you forever.

the palettes should be in the game, there should be even more of them, but they should not be safe, as a survivor you should have skills, at least stun the killer with palett and go to the next, no press spacebar runnig circles edit:why they should be safe zones in horror game lmao?

Some say it's a "horror game" - some say it's a "survival game". In any case it's a "game" which means there has to be a way for both sides to have fun.

If you spam unsafe pallets all over the map any killer will just bloodlust to get their hits and nullify the term "skill". Therefore safe loops have to exist to a certain extent in order to make the gameplay remotely interesting for survivors. It's not a slaughter simulator after all.

The majority of loops should however have "partial sight blockers" giving projectile (Huntress, Clown, Plague) AND non-projectile killers a chance to actually OUTPLAY the survivor resulting in fair wins/losses.

I'm not pissed about it or anything. Just curious as to why they are so awful.

Pipping / ranking up is HIDEOUSLY easy as survivor - that's why. There's literally red rank players with like one week of dbd experience. Therefore they'll perform like potatoes regardless of their ranks. I've seen people literally cleanse totems when I'm clearly dominating as killer just so they can get some emblem points and possibly secure their safety pip or even +pip.

  • That teammate was probably a friend of the killer. Killer/survivor teams pop up every event. They usually name some lame reason afterwards to make it seem like they weren't working together all along.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Speed Limiter is a thing and what I was saying was throwing the Chainsaw for an instant down is basically the Iridescent Head from Huntress, without the downside of a 20m Terror Radius, directionalised humming and having to go and scour lockers.

And it literally being an add-on over base kit.

But overall, my main problem is with the players who use him constantly. I've just been chainsawed too many times when they could have just hit me with the hammer. It's just not fun to go down in one hit.

No offence but that's entirely a "you-problem". Not only does Leatherface trade map pressure, gen stall potential, mobility and stealth for one single attribute (lethality) but his only attribute even has numerous counters which can quickly turn him into a killer with absolutely NO power at all if you know what you're doing as survivor.

I've looped Leatherfaces at rank 1 for 5 gens myself despite being a killer main/Bubba main myself (video with post game screen on my YT channel in case you don't believe me) and merely ended up getting downed with the hammer AFTER said 5 gen chases.

Bubba's chainsaw (default) creates a death zone of a lousy 15 meters with a starting speed of 86.25% and a top speed of 126.5% during the chainsaw end-animation which can NOT even down a survivor. It is beyond me how someone could possibly complain about this.

It's the most "fair" instadown in the game BY FAR. Not only do you have to be inside said death zone in the first place which can be avoided by using strctures, vaults, pallets etc. but you also have to STAY inside said death zone for several seconds for Bubba to get a CHANCE to hit you with the chainsaw. Every second is 4 meters in survivor speed. Therefore you get more than enough chances to drop a pallet, vault a window or run around objects allowing you to even outrun his lousy 15 meters death zone in many cases due to the fact Bubba has to keep some distance to said object as a result of the chainsaw hitbox.

  • Watched the clip again. Meg even used the slow vault animation and was still invulnerable.

    @Peanits

    That's not intended right?

  • That's gotta be a (major) dedicated server bug. I've just chainsawed survivors during pallet vault animations a few matches ago (I'm on console) so it's not part of the current update.

  • Just so you know the default time for one generator and one person is 80 seconds, not 70.

Lol you said it's not all about skill but then proceeded to put skill at the top of the list and decisions are part of your skill. It's funny how everyone on the internet can sit there and just assume that they know everything about everyone. I'm not pretending to know as much as I say I know, I do know what I know and that's all I say is what I know. All I have been trying to get across to everyone is just play the damn game as is and stop crying.

That's why I said it's not ALL ABOUT skill as in "not only" which is why it's still part of the list of variables. Also decisions aren't a skill, they're random. Sometimes it's the right decision to double-back for instance sometimes it's not. Therefore not a skill.

    in SWF Comment by Yamaoka
  • How is that a problem? It's literally just a matter of practice/timing. You'll get used to it.

  • @Sherry said:

What happened? How did he get so little points?

Read the name. Bubba probably defended his basement chest and merely scared a few trespassers away haha.

  • I feel like 99% of the entire community wants struggle to be automatic with an option to give up by holding a button but the devs kind of... Insist (rdr2 reference) that people keep destroying their space bars and controller buttons for some reason.

  • This reminds me of a poll I posted ages ago. I asked as much as:

"who is supposed to win if ALL clients (all survivors AND the killer) played perfectly with 100% perfect decisions and 100% same skills?"

Can't remember the result of the poll, though.

  • What event? I didn't see lanterns, flowers or anything else. It's just the same game except people are bringing more purple engineer toolboxes and brand new parts than usual.

  • Well... I had some rough games myself today so I know that feeling.

Played Bubba as always. Got Hawkins for the very first time because it's rare like an unicorn and had absolutely no idea how to get from point A to point B.

4 minutes in the game I lost my Ruin+4 generators (Ruin was cleansed exactly after 1 minute 29sec).

I was kinda confused how they were managing to find my Ruin and repair gens so quickly especially since I got my first down after EXACTLY 30 seconds so effectively it wasn't even 4 survivors doing gens at the start of the game.

The game can be frustrating at times but that's just how it is. I still got my 4k but neither them nor me enjoyed that sweaty match. I couldn't even check out the map in the slightest.

  • @dbizzle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/798948#Comment_798948

so you just leave the survivors there cause its the basement? cant safely rescue if the killer is camping

If the killer is camping you're in fact supposed to let the teammate die and rush gens as quickly as possible as this allows the rest of the team to escape in most cases ultimately punishing the killer. The killer gets a depip, almost no bloodpoints and realizes they've wasted their spare time standing next to that one hooked survivor.

Therefore it is LESS LIKELY for the killer to camp next game. If nobody rushes gens because the killer camps said killer will learn that "generator progress can be stopped by standing next to the hook".

Long story short: Don't reward campers.

  • @SteelDragon said:

so is crying for nerfs on a killer who is fine but because they cant loop them they cry nerf

Someone playing survivor and getting facecamped isn't necessarily someone who cried for nerfs so your action is outright... Nonsense. But sure go facecamp some random people and ruin their game experience. Punish them for something OTHER people are responsible for.

That makes as much sense as that other guy on this forums who said "I'm always facecamping survivors after having a bad game as survivor".

Besides you realize even numerous highly experienced killer mains including streamers like Otz, Scorpionz, Ohtofu etc. have stated that Spirit it outright overpowered, don't you? It's not just survivors.

  • @SteelDragon said:

if they treat spirit like they treated nurse I will face camp every survivor as spirit with the name "want to cry about spirit? cry about this" (I know that is to long that is just what I will be typing to the people who complain about face campers) I don't face camp ever, at best I will proxy camp WHEN I KNOW people are around the hook looking for the unhook. but if BHVR caves into the survivor cries again with spirit then im gonna break this code of mine to never face camp
