So you pulled a BM and complained that someone found a way around dcing?

    The irony

By slugging for the 4k you're basically asking for the people to DC or sit and wait on the ground whilst you create bad gameplay. It may not be against the rules to do but slugging creates bad gameplay and isn't enjoyable but you don't care about that.. you care about your enjoyment and the way survivors are getting around DC's... This post is like the majority of the community. Hypocritical when something doesn't go their way πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Why should I care whether someone else has fun or not?

Do survivors care about my fun? If you get outplayed you have to take it like a mature person or rage quit like an entitled baby and get (rightfully) banned for doing so. It's that simple. It's a PVP game. If you can't handle getting outplayed you might wanna try something else.

Also you clearly don't know what BM means.

  • Has anyone tested whether Resilience and/or Spine Chill speeds up the process of resetting a pallet?

  • Let's see:

The Oni: Not my cup of tea as I'm not a fan of m1 killers with cooldown powers. Also he can still be looped during his demon mode which makes him seem kinda weak. I even played some survivor games to test his potential and even though I'm rusty as survivor none of the Oni players managed to down me using the demon dash attack. His visual and sound design is amazing, though.

Yui: A nice combination of attractive and cool. I like her voice and two of her perks seem quite interesting. I wonder if "any means necessary" is affected by Spine Chill and/or Resilience allowing her to reset pallets more quickly. Perhaps it could be used whilst looping. We will see I guess.

The new map: It's kind of difficult to see survivors and I ran into a few spots that were too narrow for the killer allowing survivors to get easy distance but I like it design-wise. Also the statues around the temple are looking at you as soon as you turn your camera away which makes the map more interactive and adds some atmosphere.

  • I used to play by survivor rules. No camp, no tunnel, no slug for the 4k, no NOED. Still got insulted and tbagged whenever someone managed to escape over the course of the past 2 years. Hell, some people even insulted me when I gave them the hatch.

    Does that answer your question?

Just play for your own fun. Survivors don't care about your fun either. Use any killer, any perk and any strategy. If they can't outplay you they don't deserve to escape. Simple as that.

Or earn the 4k thorough skill? Slugging is not skill by any means it is ego. Stop taking tips from salty pro streamers and just play for the fun.

Yeah let's pretend that jumping through the hatch takes "skill" and everything a killer does takes no skill - especially when I hook the 3rd survivor and the hatch spawns right next to the 4th survivor since I killed all survivors at 5, 4 or 3 gens making it impossible for me to close the hatch since it will "very randomly" spawn near the last survivor. That's totally a matter of skill right?

Also it's funny how you assume that I'd care about streamers - "TTV".

  • @BigBubs said:

I slug sometimes and I have some dc too. Thing is ,unlike OP , I don't feel entitled to have survivors stay and crawl for the rest of the game just so that I could get my e pin bigger with that 4k. I can't understand what's so painful in the last guy getting hatch lol. This is not CSGo or something.

Wanting to win isn't entitled. Either outplay me or get sacrificed. No 0% skill escapes for you.

  • Again: There are perks for and against slugging. If you can't deal with endgame slugging play a different game. People should be grateful that I'm an anti-camp and anti-tunnel Bubba main who plays without NOED and without basement builds. That's OVERLY fair especially for a Bubba.

Instead they're still crying because of endgame slugging. Get used to it, run Unbreakable and/or Tenacity or quit the game. I will always slug for the 4k. No 0% skill-escapes for bad survivors. Either outplay me or get sacrificed. Simple as that.

    Obviously a new cooldown mechanic.

Because the others were just so fun and original, if they can do it to Nurse they can do it to anyone.

Yeah I kinda dislike cooldown powers, too. As a killer I want to use my power when I need it not when I have it.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

I'm unsure whether you're suggesting these add-ons are unfair or too weak.

I personally find the Doctor fun to play as and against. The Doctor's power works completely differently to other killer powers in the game and forces survivors to adapt their playstyle when versing him. I think he's a refreshing killer and a break from the typically seen killers at the high ranks. He seems to be in a good spot (to me at least) and I would be disappointed to see him changed.

I don't think OP is suggesting anything. They merely posted a screenshot of addons because the description says something new like "static blast (ready/cooldown)" or "skillchecks turn counter-clockwise"

  • @KingHEADBUSTER said:

I always down the 3rd and search for the last survivor, sometimes they get up with heals or unbreakable, there's nothing wrong about that. I run unbreakable and got up, opened the door, and escaped this morning. The other guy didn't lmao.

That's what I'm saying. There's literally perks that counter slugging and they're strong enough to turn death into escapes so I don't accept the "slugging is unfair" attitude.

  • @assertiveness2 said:

how do you pull out the cable if you are connected to wifi?

You can just open the internet menu on console and turn the wifi connection off for a second. Pulling the cord is just a metaphorical way to say it.

  • I don't care whether you "feel for me" or not. Disconnecting to give someone the hatch is cheap and an exploit. Slugging is fair and not against any rules. There are numerous perks to counter slugging anyways so there's no reason to cry about it.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

So youre really complaining that people are outdoing game mechanics, while you do literally do the same? Iam not saying thats its right do plug out the cable, but you shouldnt be so entitled to get you 4k, cause thats not how the game is designed.

First of all I need a 4k to pip more than most other killers in the game due to the emblem system that punishes me for using my chainsaw. Secondly slugging for the 4k is not against the rules unlike disconnecting to give someone the hatch/gate. I'm literally just playing the game as intended so don't give me that kinda stuff. It's my decision whether I give someone a chance to escape or not and since nobody appreciates friendly killers I will gladly try and 4k every single game. Nothing entitled about that.

  • Personally I think switching between treatment and punishment mode should have no "loading bar" as that's why his anti-loop doesn't work against good survivors. The time it takes to shock, switch to punishment mode and swing is often JUST A FEW MILLISECONDS too long even if you time the shock perfectly.

Therefore switching between modes with no loading bar would be a small yet effective change that would drastically improve his anti-loop.

EDIT: Also I think he shouldn't be slowed down in treatment mode since he can not injure survivors. Similar to wraith he should actually move slightly FASTER in treatment mode. Maybe 117% or something like that. Combined with the ability to switch between treatment and punishment mode this would actually allow him to be a strong killer with a functional anti-loop and strong tracking.

  • Balanced Landing doesn't need a buff. It's a survivor perk that's supposed to give you some distance. The perk does exactly that. The passive ability has always been always an issue.

Other exhaustion perks don't even have passive abilities. In fact, some exhaustion nerfs come with a built-in "nerf" if that makes sense.

Dead Hard: Can only be used while injured which can make it useless against instadown killers at times. Passive ability? Keep dreaming.

Sprint Burst: Forces you to waste time by walking everywhere unless you 99 it. Passive ability? Keep dreaming.

Head On: Requires 3 seconds of activation time. Passive ability? Keep dreaming.

So why exactly should Balanced Landing give you multiple benefits when all the other exhaustion perks have requirements and only give you 1 single benefit?

With that logic, i have every right to speedhack because of my right to escape.

Slugging is the same as speed hacking?

  • That's why I asked for a "number of hooks per killer and rank statistic" as it indicates how dominant a killer has been rather than the number of kills. A killer can be bullied all game, get 0 hooks till the 5th gen pops and still 4k at the end by slugging everyone with NOED.

Does that mean said killer was overperforming? πŸ€”

  • @LordRegal said:

I'll throw in my vote for "hatch not spawning for the last person if two gens haven't been done." It's probably my biggest gripe in how things changed. You can have an amazing game as killer, kill three before they do a gen (or at most one gen), and RNG didn't favor you and the fourth gets out the hatch. Encourages slug even in a curbstomp game.

I get it was to prevent game stalling, but it'd be a lot better if EGC just started if the "dead survs + done gens = 5" formula doesn't allow the hatch to spawn for the final surv. The game's over one way or the other at that point, and people generally agree EGC favors the killer, which it should...and if the killer's done that well or the survivors were too focused on trolling that they didn't get two gens done, then it should be (relatively) easy to catch the fourth one.

I say this as someone who's 100% the achieves in the game (until tomorrow, anyway) so I do play both sides extensively and I hate that change on both sides.

This reminds me of a game I had a few days ago. A very bad SWF team with 2 brand new parts and 1 instaheal (but then again it's no longer an instaheal. What should we call it now? Superheal?) joined my lobby. One of them had prove thyself, too. Obviously they were trying to give me a very unfun 5 minute game.

I don't want to sound arrogant but seriously they were EMBARRASSINGLY bad at the game. They only lasted a few seconds in every chase and thus ended up repairing only ONE generator. Prove Thyself and 2 brand new parts in a green toolbox with that yellow addon that further increases repair speed and still only ONE gen? Just woow.

Being a nice killer I didn't even camp or tunnel. I also didn't slug for the 4k. And that exactly was my mistake. I did NOT slug for the 4k.

So despite the fact they only repaired ONE lousy generator the hatch spawned. However I still found it before the survivor. Then I closed it and realized the gates were so far away from each other I had 0% chance to get the last survivor.

So I quickly checked both gates and realized the last survivor was already opening one and I had 0% chance to stop them quite simply because I can't teleport or sprint from point A to point B. I'm not Hillbilly...

So 1 free escape despite the fact they played like newbies. Needless to say I got t-bagged and they called me a "beach" instead of... You know the word - just so I can't report them.

That's what I get for NOT camping, NOT tunneling and NOT slugging for the 4k.

And people wonder why killers play like their life depended on getting the 4k.

  • That hook is inside the map. It's just in the corner so it appears to be outside when you see the hook aura from that gate angle.

  • Most of the female characters are very pretty. When it comes to the faces I feel like Feng Min is the most attractive character:

    Untitled Image

Her face is literally perfection. If only I could wear her face in my matches. Well, Meg's face makes a good mask as well so I can't complain.

i know you are talking about nurse but i dont know the map

Haha you're close as I'm talking about a killer but no, I'm not referring to the Nurse. I'll take a screenshot next time and upload it in this thread if I don't forget about it.

  • Actually there's already one specific character that can dab in exactly one specific map.

  • Something I don't understand is why one of them said "GO PLAY SOME BUBBA SHITTER" without any context. What do they mean by that? Have you played against them before as Bubba?

  • Even with a 4k I often safety-pip because the emblem system punishes me for using the chainsaw. Meanwhile survivors get to double-pip even if they die. Sooo yeah... I agree that pipping/ranking up must be looked at.

  • Meh I don't really BM unless the player did something to deserve it. What's the point of trying to annoy someone for no reason?

  • My personal opinion after roughly 3500 hours. Hillbilly is MUCH easier to use than Leatherface. You even named a reason why so.

As Leatherface you have to learn how to effectively maneuver around objects in order to down someone WHO ISN'T EVEN TRYING TO DODGE THE CHAINSAW ATTACK (unless you're one of those no-skill "instasaw" players who basically hug survivors before revving the chainsaw) otherwise you will get punished with a TANTRUM that literally allows survivors to run 20meters whereas as Hillbilly you basically just look at them and charge the chainsaw and it's up to their experience in dodging the chainsaw whether the attack will connect or not - so in terms of actually just using it the Hillbilly's chainsaw is actually much easier.

There's only ONE thing that requires "SOME" practice as Hillbilly which is curving but even then that's way easier

    https://youtu.be/MWGoPeL-VOI

than maneuvering Bubba's chainsaw around (weirdly shaped) loops without touching the wall while at the same time being close enough to the walls to actually catch up to the survivor within Bubba's highly limited chainsaw range:

    https://youtu.be/29RMFtVznvw

Now as for the topic: Actually Bubba got a small QoL change a few months ago. Successfully hitting a survivor with the chainsaw now reduces the chainsaw cooldown. That was a really good step in the right direction although it still doesn't change the fact his basekit needs to be buffed.

Without addons there is 0% chance of downing a survivor by successfully chainsaw-routing after them through buildings, tiles, around objects etc. so good chainsaw control isn't rewarded in the slightest.

You can only use it up close which is boring and allows them to avoid the chainsaw everytime they find a window or pallet making him a killer with no power if the survivors play remotely well.

I've posted multiple ideas to change his basekit using "high risk/high reward" ideas but since the devs neither have time nor interest in Leatherface none of the ideas will ever come into play so all I'm personally asking for is increasing his chainsaw movement speed "during the last 3 swings" of his chainsaw allowing him to chainsaw-route without speed addons and rewarding good chainsaw-control.

The source? The game itself man it's called working with a killer.

Working with the killer is a bannable offense. However by "working with the killer" the devs generally refer to a survivor who helps the killer to kill other survivors. It does NOT refer to farming.

Farming is not a bannable offense unless it's forced upon.

  • Maybe Dead By Daylight (or/and any other online PVP game) isn't for you. Try offline games instead.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/876144#Comment_876144

    That's only 129% movement speed.

Hillbilly alone reaches 200% by just using his chainsaw -- without any speed add-ons.

Slap on PWYF, blood lust, NOED, and add-ons, and he can reach easily over 250% (although blood lust would obviously fade away pretty fast).

Minor correction: Hillbilly's default chainsaw sprint is 230% / 9.2m/s

  • What do you mean by friendly killer?

  • Let me start off by saying there's "killer potential" and "your potential with a killer". All the killers have a certain potential but it comes down to the way you think how much of said potential is even used. Naturally you become best with the killer whose power is most interesting to you so as @GrootDude said:

Find a killer that interests you and spend some time playing said killer. With interest you naturally learn to play the specific killer more efficiently relatively quickly. Even if "your killer" happens to be low on most tier lists that doesn't mean you'll have bad games all the time necessarily. Also you will have WAY more fun in the long run if you become good with a killer you like.

I knew several people on my platform who "forced themselves" to become good with top tier killers like Hillbilly and Nurse and guess what happened. At some point they did get good with said killers but stopped playing the game because those killers weren't fun to them but at the same time they were too afraid of getting bullied so they never tried playing "weaker killers" that they may have had more fun with.

  • I thought by "viable killer" people mean as much as:

"is able to 4k with up to 12 hooks regardless of how good the survivors play IF the killer in question is played to their full potential"

Obviously you can do well as any killer at any rank.

Actually I even had a perfect "12 hook game" as Bubba against a full 4-(wo)man red rank SWF team with items yesterday completely "without camping/tunneling/slugging/without hooking the same survivor twice in a row" at "Hawkins" BUT:

    - it was an extremely close game (3 hooking each survivor without going for the same survivor twice in a row resulted in ALL OF THEM being alive at 1 remaining generator and a game that was longer than my console can even record).

    - AND all of them made crazy mistakes in nearly EACH of their chases.

    - AND they were slow on the gens.

If it hadn't been for all the mistakes they made during the chases and if they had been quicker on the gens I would have probably gotten 0-kills despite playing Bubba at full potential and finding + downing everyone fairly quickly.

And that's where the term "viability" comes into play in my book. I need to play Bubba perfectly AND the survivors have to make horrible mistakes in order to make a "12 hook / 4k" even possible against halfways experienced survivors.

Therefore my favourite killer isn't actually "viable" since MY success is always the result of survivor mistakes rather than my own skill.

You can tell me if I'm just seeing things wrong but that's how it seems to me.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/873323#Comment_873323

That sill proves the game is killer sided at red ranks. lol I don't know how you look at that and see a great than 50 percent kill ratio for all killers and think "yea. This game is survivor sided". That defies all logic.

When exactly did I say the game was survivor sided? I think the game is fairly balanced at the moment except for some maps that are clearly braindead survivor sided with double pallets and no line of sight blockers like the entrance at the Asylum map. I had a double pallet spawn there the other day and even the survivor used the "point emote" when they noticed that bs.

Other than that the balance is better than ever.

Also what I'm saying is one survivor is 25% per game as a strict number since there's no such thing as "half a survivor" so all killers are within the aimed 2k average across all ranks with a higher 3k or 4k tendency at red ranks. That's how things are supposed to be in an asymmetrical 1vs4 horror game especially when experience (red rank) comes into play.

    What changes do you want?

  • Untitled Image

The game doesn't exist solely for red rank players which means THIS statistic is what matters most to the devs. According to this statistic NO killer averages 75% / 3 kills per game so I'm not sure what the fuzz is about. Literally all killers are within the aimed 2k range.

Even if we take a look at the red rank statistic only Spirit, Freddy and Hillbilly touch the 75% / 3k average mark. That's NOT "most killers":

    Untitled Image

Literally ALL the other killers are between 60% - 74% (Hag only) which is still a 2k...

  • Feel free to correct me but:

Each survivor equals 25% of all survivors per game. Therefore any killer with a kill rate "below 75%" averages 2 kills per game which is exactly what the devs are aiming for... Right?

EDIT: That also explains what the devs meant when they said Spirit was overperforming. She averages 75% / 3 out of 4 survivors.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I feel like this is bait.

Killer powers don't need to have downsides. Their power is their power for crying out loud.

It's like if the Clown's bottles slowed him down whenever he thr-- oh wait...

I too think that many killers have to meet way too many requirements for their powers. Let's just take a look at my boy Bubba (without addons):

    - I have to get extremely close which is obviously not an easy thing to do without a power that helps me come close in the first place and a rather bug terror radius unless the survivors are complete potatoes. Also Bubba is huge and easy to see so mindgaming is often not even possible unless it's a completely closed loop.

    - Then I have to STAY extremely close for a default duration of over 8 meters of survivor running distance till I can finally start swinging the chainsaw. During those 8 meters I lose some distance because my power slows me down to a lousy 86.25% movement speed for whatever reason which sometimes allows survivors to still reach a pallet or hop over a window as Bubba SLOOOOOWLY starts accelerating from there.

    - even if they're out in the open with no pallets or windows around they can just brainlessly run around a big tree or... Literally any other object which allows them to easily outrun the default chainsaw even though they messed up by ending up out in the open.

    - even if they're out in the open with literally nothing around they still have a slight chance of dodging the chainsaw by running into Bubba's belly while he starts the chainsaw up (as it blocks his field of view for a brief moment) and then spinning left and right. If you manage to confuse Bubba for just a TINY moment you will have a chance to run in any direction for 1-2 seconds (4-8 meters) making it impossible to catch up with the default chainsaw.

    - and lastly Bubba obviously has to successfully avoid any object during the chainsaw attack (which sometimes is not as easy as it looks with the choppy frame rates on console especially on maps with lots of stuff and narrow ways like Hawkins) otherwise the survivor gets 20 meters of distance if you bump into stuff that was BARELY in your field of view.

You have to meet all these requirements to use your power allowing you to get a hook in one hit instead of two. And then you get punished by the emblem system for using the power but that's another story...

  • My best killer and the killer I have most fun with is double-speed-Bubba. Takes a while to get used to an almost 3 second charge time but having a slight chance to anti-loop and possibly multi-down people running around the same pallet using an AOE chainsaw attack is just overly satisfying. I just love Bubba even though he could need some serious love from the devs in terms of his base power.

Does that number include actual "rank 20 SWF", though? I'm genuinely interested how much of a difference SWF makes statistically per rank-color. Obviously SWF makes little to no difference at rank 20 as they have no clue how the game works haha.

While it's not bannable you can just DC and move on. I'm not advocating for DCing itself but there's no reason to waste your time dealing with trolling.

Not gonna lie I was thinking about DC-ing because I really hate aimlessly walking around but since I only had the chance to check out Hawkins a handful of times I wanted to get used to the pathing between gens anyways. If I had not randomly found the tbagging Claudette I would have probably DC'd a few minutes later. But honestly DC-ing not an option as the upcoming patch will include temporary bans for DC's right?

  • @Dehitay said:

What the hell?! How are so many people suggested EGC to start from survivors doing nothing. Did it really escape everybody's mind that all survivors have to do if something like that is introduced is hide all game in order to get an easy escape? A much more logical conclusion would be for the survivor's aura to become visible after a certain amount of minutes without working on a gen, being in a chase, healing, or doing anything of value.

That actually sounds like a good idea. Perhaps a location reveal would be even better rather than auras because they were probably switching lockers in 1 minute intervals making it almost impossible to find them if their aura was revealed for let's say 5 seconds after 10 minutes.

So yeah... Maybe a plain location reveal similar to Rancor? Combined with an angry Entity sound that can be heard all around the map so I know that I have to "NOW look around to see their location".

  • @Mork_From_Ork said:

As a survivor, I have had my whole team slugged more than once, only to have the killer go AFK while we bleed out.

What is interesting is that although you could only record 9 minutes, you don't show the end of the game....you clearly didn't want to pick up that survivor right? I am not defending what they did, i am simply pointing out that it goes both ways. People get mad in a game and do whatever they can to make it miserable for each other.

If I was in your situation, I might have gone and got a sandwich until they started working on gens again, as they were probably close to realizing this playing style is not fun.

Hopefully this didn't ruin your day, as it is rare that it happens.

XB1 stops recording after 10 minutes automatically (not sure if there's an option to record infinitely) so I decided to stop the clip manually after downing the Claudette as I had no idea how long it would take for the game to end after hooking Claudette and I was at 9 minutes already. Didn't want to start a second video. If I had known the hatch would spawn next to the 4th survivor I could/would have recorded the end as well, of course.

It didn't ruin my day anyways as I finally had a chance to explore the map properly. I also had some good games after this one. :)

  • @John_Doe said:

"ur camping all the gens" that may be the dumbest message I've seen on dbd.

I know right? Apparently Bubba can camp entire maps with multiple floors now haha.

Nope. As I said after finding one of them I didn't care about the 4k so I just hooked the 3rd survivor straight away (the Claudette seen in the video) and the hatch spawned near the 4th survivor. Well, at least I finally had a chance to properly explore the map and appreciate the details... I guess.

  • @yeet said:

there's a reason people keep coming back to DbD and it's not trudging around the map like an idiot looking for survivors

    stealth is boring to face

Not gonna lie that's what ALMOST made me DC once. I played a game at a swamp map and at the start of the game ALL FOUR SURVIVORS decided to hide for AT LEAST 5 minutes. I checked all generators and tons of lockers a million times and none of the gens got even touched. I literally started thinking about the wear and tear of my controller joysticks. THAT'S how often I checked all generators haha.

  • @Volfawott said:

Slugging for the 4K is not a new thing it has literally always been there.

The only reason you might see an increasing it is because before situations where no gens or only one generator has been completed used to be game over for the survivor so as a killer there was never any need to slug.

Now hatch spawns no matter what for the last survivor a lot of Killers don't want to risk it so not only do you get the killers who slug and anyway but killers who dominate will still probably slug just in case.

On top of that the hatch often literally spawns next to the last survivor. Had this happen a million times now. I remember one particular game where I won at 5 gens at Lery's and the 4th survivor was slugged. Just before picking the last survivor up the hatch spawned EXACTLY next to them while I was standing there waiting for it to happen. I was standing there literally expecting it to "randomly" spawn there.

I'm 100% sure hatch spawns are NOT random at this point. It ALWAYS spawns either:

    - next to the last survivor

    - next to the killer

    - OR near the hook of a previously killed survivor
