  • Is it bannable to kill them conventionally? ๐Ÿค”

  • What's the "current definition" of "Blendette"? It used to refer to P3 Claudette only but people called me "Blendette" even when I wore the shiny blue samurai shirt or even her pink base shirt. I'm also planning to get her upcoming cosmestic which happens to be black because it looks awesome:

I think that was a bug affecting resilience and spine chill.

Well... Letting someone else heal you/interacting with another survivor is still an action and thus should be affected by the perk in my opinion but I can see why they removed that little feature.

On the other hand it's a slap in the face of anyone who doesn't want to run the typical Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Decisive, Borrowed Time meta build. People really shouldn't be surprised about meta build survivors if non-meta perks get nerfed/shadow nerfed for whatever reason.

  • Yupp it reduced healing by about 1 second which came in handy several times especially against Ghostfaces with Nurse's Calling for instance.

    To be fair

    -Nerfed nurse

    -Nerfed legion

    -Fixed Freddy

    -Nerfed Oni

    -Nerfed spirit

And this are the most recent changes, not counting the old ones

Both sides received several changes/nerfs recently.

    - Balanced Landing: nerfed

    - Resilience: shadow nerfed (doesn't affect healing anymore when getting healed)

    - instaheals: nerfed

Just to name a few. At this point everyone should know the devs make changes to both sides all the time. Not sure why people keep making it a killer/survivor thing when the devs clearly hate both sides evenly (just joking... I think)

Thanks devs. People say they only nerf killers. Guess I'm not using Resilience anymore :(

And people wonder why survivors bring the same stuff over and over again. Even if you are willing to do without meta perks like DS, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time etc. you end up getting kicked in the balls for trying something else.

The devs really need to learn how to make non-meta perks attractive.

What did they change about Resilience? Why are they even nerfing it?

It used to affect the speed at which you got healed by other survivors till the last patch. This effect is now gone even though it only cut off about 1 second.

    @ShrekIsHot

  • Both sides get nerfed all the time. Sometimes a nerf isn't even listed in the patch notes. Resilience no longer increases all action speeds while injured since the latest patch. That's a direct nerf to a perk that's barely even useful due to the hideous 9% value. So even "weak" survivor perks are made weaker. Just to name a recent example.

Absolutely! Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I'm not trying to say the stats are useless or shouldn't be talked about, I'm saying that stats should be discussed reasonably and in context, and should not be treated as gospel or be so contentious.

That I can agree with. There's obviously variables like early-game-hook-suicides, afk survivors etc. that always have to be taken into account which is why I personally consider the game relatively balanced at this moment despite the high kill rate numbers.

  • Statistics always mean SOMETHING albeit not EVERYTHING. If -just hypothetically- a killer had a 100% kill rate across all ranks something has to be looked at because that killer certainly does not perform as intended.

  • If you increase gen times it's an automatic win for every killer that decides to facecamp first hook. The devs know that so they can't straight up increase gen times unless they come up with a smart solution to nerf camping in return.

Would you play the game as survivor if you knew the killer can win 100% if they camp first hook? I doubt it.

  • Balance seems better than ever for the most part. Killers that still moan about survivors probably just can't deal with getting anything less than a 4k. Personally I got so bored of playing killer lately I started playing survivor again and I'm honestly shocked how many rank 1 killers respect pallets like their life depended on not getting stunned. Those are probably the people who complain about survivors.

  • Freddy has an "slightly above 75% kill rate at red ranks" and his addon nerfs are minimal so why complain? He's not even addon reliant in the first place.

  • I'm not sure if it still affects vaults as it got shadow nerfed. It used to affect the healing speed while getting healed. That part is gone since the latest update so I wouldn't be surprised if it actually doesn't affect vaulting anymore.

  • Personally I think Sprint Burst is the most powerful exhaustion perk in the game although I realize it's a non-popular opinion. The reason I consider it the most powerful exhaustion perk is quite simple:

It allows you to initiate a full length chase under ANY circumstances. It doesnt matter where you are, whether you're injured or not, what killer it is etc.

Here's a today's example of mine against at Rank1 Huntress (includes post game screenshot). I was outpositioned and injured because I couldn't tell she was THAT close till it was too late. However since I had Sprint Burst aka "distance on demand" I was able to get to the office and initate a full length chase. Not only that but I also ended up distracting her for minutes AND lost her afterwards. I was the only one to escape, too and made more points than the killer.

I could post tons of clips similar to this one everything against rank 1 killers including Spirits.

Sprint Burst is BY FAR more powerful than people think - if you know how to use it that is. Obviously it's useless if you get stuck on things and waste your "distance on demand" by running cluelessly left and right.

  • Personally I think the matchmaking is bugged causing long queue times. My killer and survivor queues are crazy since the latest update and after waiting in queue for minutes I tried closing/opening the game and suddenly I got an instant lobby for both survivor and killer. Either just coincidence or bugged matchmaking.

  • Determined Athlete (Meg Thomas teachable):

"your iron discipline and sheer will to overcome obstacles to improve your results drives you to extreme performance. Vault windows and pallets 5%/10%/15% faster"

    You like?

  • There is literally 0% difference between rank 7 and rank 1 survivors. That's like 2-3 days of playing actively for a few hours. My survivor rank was 8 a few days ago and I decided to quickly go to rank 1 before rank reset which I hit today. Am I another person than I was a few days ago now? ๐Ÿค”

  • Just out of curiousity - why exactly 8 seconds? Why not 4,5,6 or 9? Anyways 8 seconds would be way too strong. I'd accept a slight buff to 4 seconds as Sprint Burst comes with the biggest negative side of all exhaustion perks (walking all the time unless you got it 99'd) but 8 seconds? No, just no.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

There's no perk which quietens the chase music. I personally haven't experienced this issue. Perhaps it's a bug.

Wasn't the Oni's terror radius bugged in the PTB?

  • Noticed it, too. The Oni barely has a terror radius. Something seems off. You barely hear it even when he's just a few meters next to you.

  • You never learn, do you - LordGlint? You, as a killer, are supposed to provide cookies and milk for survivors while they're working on gens. Do you have any idea how exhausting it is to work on generators while you're looking? You're making these poor souls nervous! No wonder they bailed on you and yeeted out of the game via the hatch!

As for the new Nemesis build I knew it was gonna be a thing when I first saw what the perk does which is why I saved up 1MIO bloodpoints before the update. Started running the build the minute it was released.

I kinda feel invincible now. I call it the "paintrain build". First time I got my tokens I was like "CHOO CHOO MOFOS HERE I COME!!!". Incredible how one perk can turn a mediocre killer into a force of nature. PWYF has always been self explanatory for Bubba but combined with Nemesis it's making him basically a chainsaw god.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/111244/why-i-camp

The only way I can see camping working is by either waiting for an ambush as GF or Pig, or in the basement as insidious Leatherface. The second though is completely countered if they have coms because the guy on the hook is like <<hey guys he is camping me here, don't come, do gens>> and then by the time he is dead like 3 gens pop. The reason we don't camp is not because we care about survivor's feelings but because we know it straight up doesn't work when people know what they are doing. The fact that you believe it does work in red ranks means you are either lying or being a contrarian.

Don't forget there are many new players and ranking up is laughably easy as survivor. I've seen red rank survivors with as little as 7 days of playtime. Those people probably fall for (Insidious) campers pretty easily.

  • You don't need to justify your playstyle. If you want to camp just do it. I never camp or tunnel but even then I get insulted for slugging. Entitled people will always find something to rage about. Hell, me and @LordGlint got told not to "camp generators". I even posted a clip of me searching survivors for 9 minutes straight because they wanted me to DC for "camping generators" whatever that means.

Just play for your own enjoyment. People don't have the right to tell you how to play the game.

Are you playing on PC or console? Because I've tried all these apparant tricks to negate chainsaws and none of them work on Xbox. That and I still think that Bubba's environmental collision is genuinely broken.

I'm on XBOX myself. Granted I have an easier time looping especially Bubba than others as I've mained him for 2 years now and can literally tell what addons he runs by the duration of the sound-bug of his chainsaw (which came into the game with Plague's release) but anyone can loop a chainsaw happy Bubba easily with a few decent windows or pallets unless he runs speed addons and knows how to maneuver around walls and objects tightly which most Bubbas fail at anyways (including the guy I faced yesterday. He kept getting stunned everytime I forced him to chainsaw-route around objects).

As for chainsaw collision in general perhaps you keep playing against people with unstable connections? Bubba's chainsaw collision is pretty much exactly where I see the chainsaw model on my screen when I play him. You wouldn't believe how often my last (functional) chainsaw swing was basically ending behind the neck of a survivor and it wouldn't connect because of like an inch or two.

Do you have a clip to specify a moment where his chainsaw seems broken?

  • Pig, Wraith, Ghostface, Tier 1 Myers and any killer that uses Insidious etc can cancel their terror radius

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/900199#Comment_900199

It's more that I'm so over them waiting until only in M1 or lunge distance to activate their chainsaw. A lot of Leatherfaces I fight abuse the broken nature of environmental hit detection, and Hillbillies will hold it while looping, waiting to be literally touching me before using it, rather than an easy M1 that literally any other killer would be happy to get.

Not trying to be negative towards you but I literally never get hit by a chainsaw unless my team wastes every pallet on the map. Whenever I face a Billy or Bubba and I notice they're "chainsaw happy" I usually either escape without getting injured one single time or I get facecamped after looping them for minutes till they go for their bloodlust-m1-swings.

In fact I (almost) made a Bubba rage quit about an hour ago because I noticed he was chainsaw happy so I looped every pallet a million times which was easy as I know his chainsaw's biggest weakness (range+speed). I also noticed he ran charge addons which makes it even easier to loop Bubba into oblivion. Looped between the same windows after dropping a few pallets over and over again till he literally stopped moving for a few seconds. I started laughing while looping the same windows all the time.

He definitely was about to rage quit but (probably) wanted to facecamp me so bad so he "pulled through the match" - with no success.

After minutes of struggling he decided to m1 me just to lose me eventually due to Iron Will. Then the last gen popped. It was that bone shaped azarov map and they were on the other side of the map so they had enough time to open the gates. Easiest 4 man escape I could have thought of.

Matches like these make me wonder how I manage to play whole matches using nothing but the chainsaw. It seems laughably easy to loop a chainsaw happy killers as long as there's some good windows and pallets.

Same goes for Billy. If they're chainsaw happy you can abuse pallets and vaults like hideously easily unless it's a curving Hillbilly who knows what he's doing in which case he deserves to hook me anyday of the week. It's no shame to go down to a curving Billy.

Sorry for sounding arrogant by the way but I really think it's braindead easy to abuse chainsaw happy killers.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

I've never escaped from new Freddy from memory. Hillbilly and Leatherface are also super hard for me to fight, but that's mainly because it seems like a majority of them rely on their chainsaw. Hag is another one because I get camped out by her traps.

You make it sound like "bad" Hillbilly/Leatherface players used their chainsaw and "good ones" played without their power. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I haven't seen past 3 in a while but Amanda was more cold than what I remember Hoffman being. She would set up un-winnable games just to kill and the reversed bear trap was most iconic with Amanda. But then again if you take the un-winnable games into account it doesn't really fit with dbd's version because its very easy to remove the trap sooo...

New Pig addon idea that would fit Amanda's games/traps.

    Iridescent Helmets:

    - Survivors can escape with active helmets

    - removes the ability to get rid of the helmet

    - helmet becomes active immediately once put on the head

    - helmet will automatically kill the survivor after 10 minutes

    - removes all SAW boxes

Imagine you're the first survivor to get downed and you see no auras of SAW boxes and your timer starts as soon as you get unhooked even though no gen has been repaired. You know "damn... My life is on an actual timer now. It's either pump out all gens and escape in 10 minutes or die"

  • One thing as survivor: Visible ranks in lobby.

One thing as killer: Original Tinkerer. God I miss that perk.

  • This reminds me of a match that made me decide to never run Borrowed Time again.

    - map was Lery's

    - killer was Spirit

    - everything was going great for us survivors

    - the 5th generator pops

    - Spirit downs someone with NOED and hooks him in the basement.

    - someone finds the totem while I 99% the gate

    - I run to the basement expecting the unhooked survivor to take the hit using Borrowed so the other two survivors can take more hits if necessary allowing all of us to escape.

    - Spirit hits me on the way to the basement as she was obviously patrolling the basement entrance

    - I unhook the survivor and... The unhooked survivor dodges Spirit's lunge and bails on me.

    - Spirit downs/hooks me in the basement

    - I watch the unhooked guy

    - the unhooked guy runs straight to the gate ignoring the other two teammates who were ready to heal him. He immediately opens the gate and leaves.

    - the other survivors stand around confused and leave shortly after him.

After the match I asked him "why didn't you take the hit with borrowed? And why did you just open the gate? And why did you just leave me to die even though the whole team was alive and ready to help?"

    His reaction: "ty."

Those people contribute to my lack of empathy for this community. If I play survivor now (which is rarely the case) I never go for the unhook. I just pump out gens and loop the killer. I don't care about teammates. My whole build is all about not going down and losing the killer as I expect nobody to help me. I don't even consider DBD a 4v1 game. It's more like a

    1v1v1v1 - VS - 1 GAME.

Which is why I play mostly killer. Since people are useless bots I might as well kill them instead of trying to play WITH them.

  • So you're asking why you don't see moris every game? I guess there are a few factors.

    1) People don't have a lot of mori offerings so they only use them for specific survivor teams (SWF with 4 toolboxes for example)

    2) People want to rank up and play proper matches (mori games mostly result in a safety pip and little bloodpoints)

    3) People are afraid of losing despite using a mori offering as it's kind of embarrassing to lose despite using the strongest offering in the game (ebony mori)

Not sure if I forgot another factor. Personally I only use them a few times per year if I want to see the mori animation. I don't even get them if they pop up in my bloodwebs.

  • @kcwolf1975 said:

They are not going to bring anything back that gives people a reason to dodge. I am not saying that there aren't other reasons people will dodge, but this is something they can take care of easily.

@lindechene is totally right, shorter queue times are more important for the games health than picking/choosing teammates.

Queue times are not going to be shorter if people stop playing survivor due to bad matchmaking combined with the lack of information about the rank of other survivors. Personally I've had one single survivor game today as you can read above and it's going to be the last survivor game for a while until they fix the matchmaking OR bring lobby-ranks back.

That kind of stuff makes me play killer only. What's the point of ranking up if you end up getting matched with baby ranks?

  • Today I played my first survivor game in quite a while (still purple rank even though I rarely touch survivor these days). To keep the story short:

    - game starts it's a Hillbilly with Ruin, BBQ, Tinkerer and Overcharge. Addons were primer bulb and spiked boots.

    - 10 seconds after the game had started the first survivor went down

    - someone else unhooks a few seconds later

    - Hillbilly downs both of them near the hook

    - First survivor gives up on hook

    - I'm gen jockeying between two gens in the meantime

    - Second survivor gets hooked

    - Hillbilly comes to one of my gens and tries to chainsaw me. He misses and I hop over a window and try to go for the unhook. The 2nd survivor quickly kills themself on hook before I arrive.

    - Hillbilly loses me and searches the 3rd survivor. He finds them and downs/hooks them. I unhook the 3rd survivor and stand in front of Hillbilly to make him chase me.

    - After getting chased for about 1 minute I'm still not even injured. He gives up to find the other remaining survivor.

    - Hillbilly finds the other remaining survivor again and downs them only seconds after he had left me.

    - 3rd survivor is hooked again and Hillbilly found me with BBQ.

    - I stand perfectly still in front of him to give him a free hit. He doesn't even try to chainsaw me as his previous attempts to chainsaw me failed.

    - He doesn't meme or anything and lunges from the distance even though I wasn't moving. It seems like he was nervous as I dominated him fairly easily.

I take the hit and run to the first pallet I see. It's a Z-pallet (fairly safe till bloodlust 2).

The 3rd survivor watches me loop him around the same pallet that he refuses to break for as long as the survivor was on the hook. Probably the full minute of second stage phase.

The survivor dies and the hatch spawns right next to me (what a surprise). I escape via the hatch and take a look at the ranks.

EVERYONE WAS YELLOW RANK INCLUDING THE KILLER.

Do you think I kept playing survivor after that match? I won't touch survivor again unless they REALLY fix matchmaking or bring back lobby-ranks. I don't want to play with yellow ranks that go down in seconds and won't touch a generator.

  • Just had lots of close calls (as survivor) but nothing connected allowing me to slide over a pallet and escape via the hatch. Feels good to play on console. No dedicated servers + good killer ping = no frustration.

How is not slugging playing bad? That's some entitlement there.

All of you got some delusions thinking that people wanting better game play is entitlement. Whilst you project your entitlement to the high heavens and when people DC when you're clearly doing BMS then your entitlement shows. Go back to Fortnite all of you๐Ÿ˜‚

And moderators better start giving out warnings properly instead of picking on me for speaking the truth. You're all delusional. Get ######### ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don't give a ######### about a dead forum.

I see what's going on in your head. You think a killer is good if they try to entertain survivors even though that's not the killer's objective. I'm not your friend. As a killer I'm supposed to KILL you - not ENTERTAIN you. Therefore camping, tunneling and slugging is just as legit as bringing multiple toolboxes combined with prove thyself and bond whilst looping any braindead easy loop in the game. That's literally normal gameplay. Deal with it.

BM is when I keep smacking you on the hook nodding my head even though it doesn't help me win in any way whatsoever.

Bruh, what is wrong with the killers?! The game was made for not every game to get a 4k because that's not enjoyable for the survivors. Yes a lot of killers do feel entitled to a 4k and will slug the last two survivors because they, for some reason, think the game is made for their enjoyment and no one else's. Is every killer brain dead or do you act like it for fun? Try genuinely looking through a survivors perspective and having a sweaty killer every round raging and sweating out their nuts trying to get a 4k since they don't have a life.

If you want to survive you will have to outplay the killer. Sorry for not giving you an easy time in a PVP game!

  • Freddy has the highest kill rate of all killers at red ranks according to the current statistics (although they are to be taken with a grain of salt due to several variables like early-game-hook-suicides, NOED-4ks etc.).

He's one of very few killers who averages slightly above 75% which is 3k since one survivor equals 25% of a match. An "average result" of 3 kills means a 4k is extremely likely as Freddy at the moment.

I suppose it's the result of his non-directional lullaby that often allows you to get an easy first hit, his HUGE gen stall potential and his overall simple gameplay in terms of chases regardless of whether you're using snares or fake pallets.

Right now he's probably the easiest-to-play killer out of the "strong killers".

  • Since some people told me not to slug the 3rd survivor for the 4k I decided to just slug generally everytime I see a way to do so even at 5 gens to increase the fun. Might as well give people a real reason to be salty. If you can't outplay a slugging killer then you should probably not play at red/purple ranks.

ALL NAMES IN THE CLIP ARE CENSORED FOR OBVIOUS REASONS:

Does anybody still feel like telling me how to play the game?

  • @Thanatos_x said:

People are really complaining about killers slugging now? What would you rather be completely dead and get no more points at all, or have a chance to be picked up by your teammate and continue playing the game, which is exactly the opportunity slugging gives? I don't understand it. If you would rather die than try to win then go ahead, complain about being slugged for the 4k

Also at higher ranks it's almost necessary to get the 4k in order to pip as killer so, not only are they giving you a chance to be picked up again but they're also just trying to pip themselves. But no I totally understand why people are mad about this.

I know right? I've been playing this game for over 3500 hours and was a 50/50 Rank1 player for most of the past 2 years and never would I have even THOUGHT about getting mad over slugging regardless the circumstances. At red ranks slugging is just the normal thing to do especially late/end-game so I didn't expect (a few) people to get mad/salty about that part of the thread.

Slugging is a potential EXTRA CHANCE to survive and there are easy 0% skill counter-perks like Unbreakable or Tenacity so I don't accept crying about slugging in any way whatsoever.

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

I rather be slugged than be tunneled.

    This.

Only thing that grinds my gears when playing survivor is getting facecamped or tunneled off the hook before you're even able to move. Getting slugged with the mere intention to give the killer momentum is perfectly fine especially since there are perks to counter slugging. Unbreakable completely takes the killer's momentum and Tenacity can be used infinitely so there's nothing to complain about in terms of slugging.

  • That entirely comes down to your playstyle and what you're looking for (fun vs power). What type of playstyle do you prefer? Aggressive chasing? Or tracking survivors? Or stealthy/sneaky gameplay with the element of surprise?

Many people seem to like Ghostface who will often get an easy hit with the element of surprise since he can cancel his terror radius and he gets occasional instadowns if you take your time to stalk a survivor. He appears to be relatively strong.

  • Slugging is not toxic in any way whatsoever. There are P-E-R-K-S for and against slugging some of which are even fun to use like Tenacity. Everyone who moans about slugging needs to git gud.

  • @VicelikeJmz said:
