you will get the point one day. you will see that survivors are to strong versus killer
No offence but I don't know a single killer who loses more matches than they win so obviously survivors are not too strong in any way whatsoever.
-
Due to the new rank reset virtually anyone can be a red rank survivor in no time. I just played 5 killer games at red ranks (Bubba - as always) some of which were against SWF with 3 toolboxes containing brand new parts and none of the survivors even knew how to run any loop resulting in 5 x 4ks some of which were at 5 gens.
The game is a total joke as killer these days. I haven't played a lot in the past months as I'm totally addicted to Borderlands 3 at the moment but even then I still 4k in 2 minutes against red ranks. Can't believe some people act like red ranks were total hell as killer.
However I'm still running og Ruin (being honest there) so things are probably gonna change now when the new patch comes.

He means will it zap people in the terror radius created by Dark Devotion.
As far as I can tell, no reason it shouldn't.
Oooh oops my bad. Thought he meant it as in "can I put my terror radius onto the obsession using static blast".
-
Dark Devotion requires you to hit your obsession with a basic attack. Static blast is not a basic attack so nope - doesn't work unfortunately.

Never said I was a pro there's no such thing this is a casual party game but even I know you can't camp to red ranks or any rank camping is depip
Against solos camping DOES work the majority of the time even at red ranks (which is why I'm now running the new Kindred whenever I go solo survivor) especially if you're playing a killer that can get many quick hits off of it to fill their emblems. Obviously you're not gonna pip at red ranks as a facecamping Bubba who gets chaser emblem penalty for using his chainsaw, though.

You can't camp to red ranks ๐ found the noob
Yeah around 4000 hours in the game, 5 gen chases at rank 1 with post game screenshots on my YouTube profile, numerous 1 minute 4ks at 5 gens as Leatherface. Definitely a noob. What's your YouTube again? I'm sure you have tons of 1 minute 4ks and 5 gen chases at rank 1 as well since I'm a noob and you're a pro.

Honestly what kind of survivors are you playin in red ranks? Players that use ruin and camp a hook will not win a game or get anything out of it. Sorry your story is hardly believable.
Red rank is meaningless. Have you forgotten how easy it is to pip? Have you forgotten the new rank reset puts you back one color only?
-
Sums up the solo experience. Got chased by a Billy earlier today. Looped him through the entire map till I lagged into a wall allowing him to chainsaw me after 2 minutes and 20 seconds. It takes 80 seconds / 1 min 20 seconds for one survivor to repair one gen which means about 4 gens were supposed to pop in that chase.
Instead only ONE generator popped just after I got hooked and I realized everyone's just crouching around. I got unhooked only seconds after Billy had left which obviously made him come back immediately. Afterwards he sent me a nice "ez" even though:
- I play solo
- with no items
- no meta perks
- I never tbag, use emotes or anything.
Spitting into the face of a skillful solo survivor. Way to go champ.
However I noticed that guy was running Ruin so there were have it. Another red rank killer that gets carried by Ruin. Plays completely clueless with no mindgames at all resulting in overly long chases and still wins thanks to Ruin.
This is why people need to play both sides equally as a solo. They will quickly realize playing killer may be stressful at times but at least the game depends solely on your own decisions rather than the decisions of 3 crouching hook farmers who unhook you behind the killer without borrowed just to Urban away immediately.

I play Huntress with Devour. I can hide it until 5th stack. :D Now get paranoid every time you see a Huntress.
I play and enjoy both sides and like high risk high reward stuff like Devour Hope. You have to work for your stacks after all. If you get 5 stacks you deserve to mori the hell out of people ๐

you do realize that console hasn't even see the ruin nerf yet, right?
Many killers have already switched to other builds on XB1. Saw several Devour Hope killers instead of Ruin as it has a similar effect IF it doesn't get cleansed before it comes into play, of course. Many people panic and run around like headless chickens as soon as one gets hit with the 3rd stack haha.
Once the Ruin change goes live I will probably try the new Doctor with:
- Corrupt Intervention to slow down the game
- Whispers (+static blast) so they can't hide it out
- Enduring (so I can recover immediately forcing them to stay at pallets till I can shock/hit them)
- Devour hope/@Boss

ngl i fell out of my chair when you said "red rank is for elite players"
their not sending their best folks!
also, you're bullshitting about the 1 minute queues. with me being rank 2, and the many streamers ive watched to confirm this (that were also red rank) had very high queue times.
maybe if you're console ur getting it good, but for PC, nada, if you're lucky you'll get into a game in 10 minutes.
Maybe it's my region or an XB1 thing (no dedicated servers yet) but my rank 1 queues are around 1-3 minutes tops which is tolerable for a 3 year old game. I'm playing survivor right now and measured the queue time. It was 55 seconds.

Couldn't agree more. My matchmaking times are a little higher, but I put that down to the console playerbase. As for Ruin, I agree with you. It's tiring to see these campers rely hard on Ruin for kills. I prefer to see a killer with some actual skill that's going to give me a good challenge, and I've had some good challenges from killers without Ruin. Too many killer mains rely way too much on that single perk. I can understand why, but at the same time, it's not a guaranteed win perk either.
Exactly. From what I have seen most non-Ruin killers actually tried to mindgame most tiles whereas Ruin killers tend to often simply proxy camp and tunnel first hook for an easy win. I have to admit I've used Ruin all these years myself but I never liked it anyways so I welcome the Ruin change. Forces me to try new builds that are more fun than relying on a Hex perk anyways.

With how easy it is for Survivors to pip, red ranks will be for everyone soon enough.
That's definitely an issue that needs to be adressed imo. Due to the new rank reset and the fact it's braindead easy to pip as survivor literally every survivor will be a rank 1 player soon. Even people who can't look behind them during a chase with just a few days of playtime are currently found at red ranks leading to an overall frustrating experience for long term solo survivors.
-
Survivor queues at rank 1 are about 1 minute for me at the moment. I've seen many killers play without Ruin yesterday and most of them still performed well and got some 4ks. I'm glad all the whiny people that got to red ranks by camping first hook at 5 gens with Ruin up will be gone soon. Red ranks is for elite players, not for advanced campers.
-
Since I dislike any sort of profiling I treat players based on their actions rather than the character they choose to play.

Feel like with how huge Oni is, if he was givin Ghostface's power to T-bag...he'd instantly kill any survivor.
Imagine Oni just tbagging survivors to death using his sheer weight as in once you're downed you better have that spicy Tenacity or you'll be Dead By Gluteus Maximus ๐ Now that would be a mori that'd be both violent and hilarious at the same time!
-
What lift of the big 3 are you referring to? Bench press, Squat or Deadlift? ๐ค
Anyways Oni easily benches, squats and deadlifts more than any other killer. Guy looks like he weighs about 500 (muscular) pounds.
-
If slugging becomes meta then so will anti slug perks like Unbreakable and Tenacity.
Unbreakable completely stops the momentum if used immediately and Tenacity allows everyone to change positions quickly while recovering at the same time making slugging unviable as you can't get them back down quickly enough to stop them from repairing gens.
Long story short: If killers "adapt" survivors will "adapt", too. That's the circle of life/DBD

I will finally bring some balance to this game
Can be buff technician though so you don't die from the explosion but you merely lose an arm or two disabling all types of vaults and pallet drops? That would be the "balance" most killers need afterall! Make survivors run around like headless chickens once they miss a skillcheck!
-
If the devs nerfed mediocre perks like Resilience people will get motivated to run meta perks instead... Like Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, Dead Hard and Unbreakable. No heal Gen rush (Adrenaline) combined with anti slug (Unbreakable), anti tunnel (Decisive) and a bit of a chase extender (Dead Hard).
People should appreciate that some survivors are even willing to run something like Resilience instead.
-
If we look at the survivor gameplay as a concept then it seems like you are not supposed to escape if your random teammates are bad at the game regardless of your own skill as a result of the game being a 4 v 1. That's why you are able to pip even if you die.
Or in other words: You are supposed to get destroyed by the killer and enjoy it as a solo player as long as the game tells you you've "won" by getting a pip that can be obtained by doing "exciting things" like cleansing some totems.

And now that I know this I feel stupid for still attempting to lunge onto there the past few games I got on farm maps...
I'm fairly sure many killers are still swinging onto the hay. It's become a bad habit at this point haha. I've watched Puppers play Hillbilly the other day and he managed to even curve around the hay and land on the vault location with the chainsaw. I wonder if the devs thought about this when they added the rail. ๐ค

NP I actually only learn how to do this about two months ago even tho I have been playing this game for over two years. Survivors don't often go onto the tractors unless they have sprint burst, lithe or there is no pallets nearby so I never really cared to learn how to do it.
Actually there is nothing to learn anymore. The devs added the rail next to the ramp with one of the latest patches so killers don't have to learn how to swing onto the hay anymore. You can now just run onto the hay via the rail on top of the ramp which makes the tractor a free hit at all times. Kinda skill free but meh... DBD devs don't care about skillful plays anyways.
-
I don't really see the problem. You can easily just walk along the rail to get on the hay as killer.
As for the toxicity always remember: If someone acts like a child in an online game chances are the player is an actual child.
-
That new "hook tech" should be called "throwing the game in a fancy way".
-
Personally I think the game is in fact killer sided "if":
- we're considering a 3+k a win for the killer.
- we're going by solo standards.
- the matchmaking doesn't mess up.
- AND taking ALL MEANINGFUL RANKS (red/purple/green) into consideration.
4 solo survivors will easily lose "more often than not". In fact sometimes a new/inexperienced killer can even win against a bunch solo survivors even if one of the solos is a strong survivor.
It takes 1-2 potato teammate(s) to throw the game for anyone else afterall.
-
Lullaby and Terror Radius work unconditionally from one another as they're quite simply two different things. That's why (for instance) Borrowed Time will not proc if the unhooker is asleep even if Freddy is right behind them.
-
Everytime survivors manage to repair all gens in less than 5 minutes everyone's having that surprised Pikachu face reaction but if a killer manages to down/kill all 4 survivors in less than 2 minutes everyone's like "just the survivor's fault, though!".
Talk about double standards.
I can immediately post multiple games of mine that I ended in 1 minute using the "worst killer in the game" aka Leatherface. That doesn't mean killers are op. It means survivors messed up A LOT. Same goes for games that end quickly in survivor's favor.
If they manage to repair all gens in a couple minutes then the killer messed up and doesn't deserve a single kill. Simple as that.

putting whispers on him could guarantee results. Anytime it turns on, you hit the button and find the person immediately.
Unless they hop into a locker as soon as they hear a terror radius since good survivors will know Doctor has to go on a 1 minute cooldown as soon as he wastes his static blasts hoping to find you, of course.
-
You said Bubba required no skill so surely you can chainsaw anti-loop right? ๐ค

Yeah, on Dedicated servers. Since you are on xbox I call speed hacks.
The bug occurs on all platforms. It happened to a friend of mine who rarely ever plays DBD after the killer had hit her. She didn't even understand what was happening.
-
Most people aren't good at chases so they'll do anything it takes to get their health state back. That's probably why loads of red rank killers have been running Sloppy Butcher + Nurse's Calling recently.
-
@OutcastEric said:
Honestly think there needs to be a power shift off of survivors. Swf is too strong with zero downside. I feel like each survivor should only be allowed 2 to 3 perks. Either that or give the killer more to run with. That'll be a step in the right direction
Yes, nerf solo survivors even further into the ground because of (specific) SWF teams. That's totally a step in the right direction.
-
I ran a Wraith for a total of 4 minutes today (Yamaoka Estate, recorded it too). When I eventually got hooked I saw TWO teammates running in circles in the basement. When I got unhooked I ran straight to the basement with the killer behind me just so he could see what kind of (insert very bad word here) I had to play with. They were still there even though I had to run across the map.
Afterwards I pointed at a basement hook, let him kill me, sent him a "gg and good chases" and jumped back to Borderlands 3.
That Wraith was respectful and said they were trying to head on bait him instead of doing gens and said I did a good job running him. I wish more killers realized what kind of bs solos have to deal with at times so if a solo survivor gets a good run don't give up/don't get tilted because chances are the solo survivor's teammates were running in circles for minutes...
-
There's a rare bug that causes you to get infinite speed boost. The devs haven't fixed it yet. It's not an exhaustion perk related bug, too which probably makes it difficult to fix the bug. I've had a few sonic-survivors in my matches myself some of which used no exhaustion perks at all and that bug seems to occur completely randomly. Sometimes they get the speed boost after an unhook, sometimes they get it if the killer hits them etc.
Hopefully the devs manage to fix it.

Lol feelsbad
If it's any consolation, I never message survivors after I've rekt them.
No worries I play mostly killer anyways so it's not that much of a deal. Also getting treated like trash by fellow killers whenever I go solo survivor helps me show some empathy for solo survivors at times knowing that they just try their best and often get punished for it.

Playing killer on console is borderline masochistic. Here's an overview:
- No queue time, awesome!
- Match begins. 30FPS, #########.
- First chase. Lunge. Drop down to 10FPS. Miss.
- Where did that survivor go?
- Trying to mindgame loops by hiding my stain only to realize the controller at 100% sensitivity isn't fast enough to let me do this. Where did that survivor go?
- Teabagged at every pallet
- Finally death hook someone. Notification: Survivor has added you to a PS4 chat.
- Receive pop-ups of chat insults etc while still trying to focus on the game.
- Game is over. You are rank 12, survivors are all red rank.
- Feel stressed.
- ######### this #########.
- Notification: Escaped survivors also add you to a chat, make fun of you.
- Block a few people on the Playstation Network. Again.
- Repeat.
Meanwhile as solo survivor:
1) 5 minutes queue time - finally a lobby
2) match starts - so far so good
3) you immediately go on a gen - bad decision as all your random teammates hide at the start of the game
4) the killer finds you before anyone else because you're the only one working on gens
5) you loop and juke the killer for minutes - you feel like you're just playing like a skillful survivor
6) after 2+ minutes the killer catches you and smacks you on the hook for playing skillful.
7) you realize the team has repaired only 1 gen in the meantime, Ruin is still up and everyone's crouching
8) the killer circles around your hook till you die
9) killer messages you "rekt"
10) repeat
-
Probably Spirit because:
1) since she's a Spirit she has no needs which means the bed, the bathroom etc. is all mine
2) she could use her mighty phase powers to rush over to the supermarket last minute and get some snacks for the weekend. If she didn't kill me that is.
3) I could tease her whenever we watch any sort of horror movies
4) she's about my age
5) she's beautiful
6) she'd try and spook me by putting the lights on and off while using creepy voice once we're bff (I like getting spooked). I can imagine myself yelling "Riiiiiin! ๐" when she hides behind a door trying to spook me.
-
@Almo could you possibly confirm whether Leatherface's purple addon (Award Winning Chilli) works or not? I would really appreciate a dev's take on this.
-
@DwarvenTavern said:

Sorry. My post was deleted. No. They don't work.
Killer main streamers say it doesn't work.
Int3ract the guy who makes incredible killer guides and killer stats says it doesn't work. He both tested and got conformation that it doesn't work.
I tried it and it doesn't work.
The developers of dead by daylight themselves says that it DOESN'T work. As for why they didn't fix it is beyond me. They even somewhat made a joke about it too recently. I did not see anything in the patch notes that says they fixed it. It's just a mind trick.
Just do the following test and you will see the chilli addons do work:
1) play without addons.
2) swing the chainsaw while standing completely still and start moving left and right rapidly just after the 4th swing of the chainsaw (due to the higher speed during the last few swings it's more noticeable)
3) now play another game - this time with Award Winning Chili and repeat step 2)
You will see the difference. Chilli addons affect the acceleration at which your character model changes directions during the chainsaw attack. That's "chainsaw acceleration". Most people think it affects the acceleration as in you reach your top speed more quickly which it doesn't (even though it should).
-
Requirements: Two perk slots, you need to be injured, killer has to look at you.
Benefits: +15% vault speed which makes a difference of 0.075s for fast vaults and 0.135s for medium vaults.
Conclusion: It is very unlikely that the devs will even consider nerfing it.
-
People are exaggerating. Playing killer on console is perfectly fine for the most part. Obviously fps could be more decent but other than that I can't complain. As for SWF most console killers expect anyone that outplays them to be SWF similar to certain streamers.
-
Power role doesn't mean you're supposed to win every game.
-
Using your intelligence to survive is not toxic. I too would run away from the basement if I noticed a basement build. I don't care about challenges especially not challenges of OTHER PEOPLE. It's THEIR challenge so THEY have to figure out how to do them.
-
Gens are "allowed" to be repaired quickly for the same reason it's "allowed" to kill quickly. I have several 1-2 minutes 4ks on my YT profile including red ranks with 3 strong toolboxes (2 purple engineer's and 1 commodious toolbox) using the "weakest killer in the game" (Bubba).
When did people ever repair 5 gens in 1-2 minutes? If things go THAT quickly it usually means one side messed up A LOT - possibly without noticing it. As killer it's usually the result of not finding/downing the first survivor quickly or failing to hold or increase the momentum.
-
@DwarvenTavern said:
And the chili addons don't work sadly
They DO work. They just don't do what everyone expects.
-
So you are camping because people are mean - classic.
Question: You said you find it more relaxing than actually trying to chase survivors but do you also find it FUN to camp? I'm currently not playing DBD for other games and I gotta say I almost forgot how much fun offline splitscreen games can be as I spent most of the past years playing DBD.
You might wanna try some other games, too. Maybe some grindy offline games or PVE games rather than PVP (which always includes people that try to belittle and insult you). I'm fairly sure grinding good gear in Borderlands 3 with a friend (for instance) is way more fun than camping someone to death which is basically just standing around for 2 minutes doing nothing.
-
Waving means the killer is camping for one simple reason: If it meant the killer was NOT camping then everyone would have to wave arms multiple times almost every game.
Camping/Facecamping is an "action" that needs a "reaction" if you want to save/inform your team. Since waving your arms is the only signal/reaction to camping you can do without perks it clearly MUST mean the killer is camping.
