  • It's most definitely not just you. I'm not even disappointed as I knew they were hideously bad. As killer I didn't notice too much of a difference so far but as survivor it's completely unplayable. It's not even skill based in the slightest.

A killer can visually start their attack from the middle of a jungle gym towards the pallet and hit you when you are already around the corner (in front of the locker of the jungle gym).

Drop the pallet and you'll get hit through it - hug the corner and you will still get hit even though you're already in front of the locker. Now it really is a casual game as the dedicated server decides who wins. Skill got canceled.

    Rasputia Larimore Survivor When.

Also when it comes to a licensed older Survivor, I personally think the older versions of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the terminator movies would go well towards wider representation to the game. I mean at some point Terminator would be a valid option for a chapter and the license holders like giving their license away to other game companies. But this isn't about licences, just stating this as an example.

The only Old characters are Ash and then I have no idea how close Jeff is but he's the second most diverse Survivor and that's only because he has a big long beard and he seems into heavy metal which seems very 80s of him.

Hell YEAH ! Rasputia would be awesome 😁

  • Just had a chance to test the dedicated servers. Woow... Just woow.

I can't even find the right words to describe just how bad they are on both sides but it seems a LOT worse on survivor side. I think I will post a thread with peer to peer / dedicated server comparison video samples in the upcoming days.

This is just unplayable. What's the point of releasing new content when the game is unplayable?

  • What you described is literally no risk at all / high reward.

The game is not balanced around survivors having only 1 "legit" chance to survive.

Easily 90% of all experienced killers would just tunnel the first survivor off the hook to mori 1 survivor out of the game early on so they can casually 3-hook the other 3 survivors to make sure they can squeeze out as many bloodpoints as possible without risking to lose the match and pretend to be good at the game.

I love when killers get angry about totem pops. Like really, if you were playing survivor you'd go out of your way to pop that ######### too.

Bad killers be like: "I don't follow made up survivor rules because I'm so cool, yo!"

Same bad killers be like: "don't cleanse my totems, don't loop, don't bring items, don't use strong perks, don't tbag, don't point at me, don't bodyblock, don't gen rush, don't try anything to survive"

  • Where does the dev update say you'll be able to sabo hooks in 2.5 seconds?

    Balanced has enough drawbacks yes.

Sprint burst....eh it still vastly outweighs the negatives since you can use it immediately no matter where you are. It also requires zero skill to waste so much of a killers time.

No perk requires skill so that's a weird argument.

  • Do yourself a favor and don't waste a perk slot for a perk that works once in about 15 games.

If you REALLY want to try it though you might wanna combine it with something that lets you know where your teammates are like "bond" or "empathy" as you have to be close enough for Breakout to make ANY difference considering hooks are everywhere.

If you have a purple "instaheal" you can use it to take an additional hit at the hook. That's two protection hits at once so maybe Mettle Of Man could work with that combo as well.

Breakout, Empathy or Bond, Mettle Of Man + purple instaheal.

The last perk could be Dead Hard so you can bait a 3rd swing at the hook. Not only that but this way you have at least 1 perk for yourself.

    So basically:

    - Breakout

    - Mettle Of Man

    - Empathy or Bond

    - Dead Hard

    + Purple Instaheal

  • If the devs reduced the bleedout to 1 minute it would actually BUFF slugging. People that slug don't care about points and pips. They care about killing. One minute bleedout means I won't even move as soon as I down someone. I will just sit on the downed survivor for a minute and down them again if they get back up.

One minute later it's a 3 vs 1. Easy win. Remember two hook stages is 2 minutes in total.

  • Quote: "I keep running into dead hard and they will ABSOLUTELY never use it until I am directly infront of the closet where I can start a search."

    Do you mean Head On?

  • What if -JUST THEORETICALLY- a killer actually overperformed and managed to slug all 4 survivors consistently in 1 minute and thus only got 4 hooks in total all the time?

  • Quote: "I have high blood pressure and recently got so heated over this game. I had to have a trip to the emergency room."

That's unsettling not gonna lie. I do realize some people really enjoy the killer role despite being unable to take the stress that naturally comes with facing a group of 4 other human beings. However if things go that far you should seriously think whether that little bit of fun is worth it or not.

I have a few questions for you: Would you still experience any stress if survivors were actually bots/if DBD had an offline mode?

Do you think you would get bored of DBD if survivors were actually bots/if DBD had an offline mode?

Sure . To many toxic scums squads. Flashlights,Looping,Gen rushing, tea bagging ,bodyblocking.Every game same Horror. Ps RIP ruin i miss you in 4 5 minutes game. PS4 user.

Looping is literally what survivor gameplay is all about (besides repairing generators, of course). If someone is a strong looper use the opportunity to practice mindgaming. If you keep killing potatoes who can't loop you won't get better at the game and eventually get bored.

As for flashlights they're just a heavily nerfed item. They used to be strong enough to use them in a chase even without pallets (insta-blind). Now they can only be used for pallet blinds and flashlight saves. Just look against a wall or bait them by pretending to pick them up if you think someone's waiting. I can't even remember when I got blinded the last time.

  • If survivors had no collision they could run inside each other making it impossible for the killer to attack one specific survivor. Maybe that's the reason.

  • Removal of all survivors perks and all pallets/windows when? I want to 4k while eating a sandwich REEE!

  • Based on the teaser it's safe to say this is the new killer:

    Untitled Image

  • The best thing is no one EVER thanks you for an endgame rescue even if you single-handedly save the person while the killer is endgame-camping. In fact, some salty people even act rude AFTER you save them.

Met one of those individuals a few weeks ago. It was a Spirit who performed pretty badly all game. At the end she downed an Ace. I 99'd the gate and went to the hook realizing none of the others were even trying to help him so I waited for the perfect moment and managed to unhook without getting myself killed.

Afterwards that Ace seriously said "why did you wait so long" instead of "thank you gg".

Told him that's kinda ungrateful as I'm not his babysitter. I'm not forced to save anyone. His respond "why should I thank you for something you should have done earlier?"

Some people just enjoy acting like spoiled brats. If I get caught endgame I don't even expect people to unhook me.

  • One could also ask: "Still a 4k even though survivors managed to repair 4 gens in less than 3 minutes - how is that fair?!"

  • My killer would win 100% of the time with no exception because "average teammates" don't repair generators even if my survivor gets chased for 3+ minutes in a single chase.

  • Most red ranks have like 1 week of playtime these days so any killer can perform well regardless of the build even. I just saw a rank 4 with 2 days of playtime.

  • Otz had been streaming for roughly 1 day straight when this match happened. He was tired as hell and still 4k'd fairly easily. Not sure what your point is.

Do you want killers to 4k without any level of stress? Why would anyone play survivor if you can just press on "play as killer" and have an easy time?

That's cool. Still not toxic, lol.

It's a legitimate playstyle, even said by the devs. :)

    "toxic" is highly subjective.

  • "I lOsT eVeN tHoUgH I cAmPeD sO pLeAsE nErF sUrViVoRs REEEE!"

  • How is that bragging?

@topic: I'm no Clown main (well, in fact I still play exclusively Bubba) but since Clown can slow down survivors fairly easily you could try Spirit Fury even without Enduring as they can't build a whole lot of distance depending on your addons. Just an idea. Maybe combined with something "unimpressive" like Brutal Strength. Obviously something for gen defense like Pop Goes The Escape and Thrilling Tremors. Brutal Strength synergizes with Pop, the Clown's bottles and Spirit Fury and Pop synergizes with Thrilling (especially if you down a survivor trying to finish a gen aggressively next to you).

Perhaps @DudeDelicious has a good build for you considering he's one of the few certified Clown experts

  • "jUsT cLeAnSe"

  • Most people play games with the "expectation to win" since they're spending their hard earned spare time playing said game.

However since you're going against other people in PVP games such as DBD you have to actually "work" for your positive gaming experience.

Working for your gaming experience is something many people do not want even though it's inevitable as the developers of any PVP game have to make it so anyone has a fairly even chance of achieving their primary objective.

That's where people get mad. Some killers/survivors think they aren't given a fair chance resulting in loads of conflicts and discussions.

  • "Imagine if killers were able to completely two negate perks like survivors could and limit them to two perks for most of a match, they would riot."

meanwhile: *Plague pukes on survivor negating Iron Will, Calm Spirit, Fixated, Self Care, Adrenaline [to some extent], Aftercare [to some extent], Autodidact, BMotany Knowledge, Inner Strength, Second Wind, Solidarity, We'll make it*

  • Are new maps / loops designed with dedicated servers in mind? (question is related to hits through pallets/windows due to latency)

I think I'll try billy. Thank you. How often would you say bubba gets more than 1 down at a time? Like 1 out of 10 games?

Multi-instadowns are extremely rare and mostly luck dependant. Bubba's default chainsaw range is merely 15 meters and he covers those 15 meters with a speed DEFICIT (and slowly accelerates his way from there up to a movement speed slightly above his normal walking speed by default) which makes it relatively easy for survivors to split up last second even if you find them in the same place.

However if you run his speed addons it's more likely to catch up to multiple survivors. Here are some of my multi-instadowns so you get an idea what it looks like when it works out:

how is this a second chance, when everybody knows to rub a skull? can killers fix a skull to stop adrennaline from working!😎😁

NOED has turned thousands of 0ks into quick and sudden 4ks over the course of the years. Therefore it's as much of a 2nd chance as a perk can be regardless of whether it can be cleansed or not. It's called second chance and not second guarantee for a reason. No one says a chance WILL get you something - only that there's a POSSIBILITY to get something. As for Adrenaline it doesn't turn 4ks into 0ks. At least I've never experienced such a scenario in 3 years of playing mostly killer at any rank. Not one single time. Therefore bad comparison in my opinion even if Adrenaline has the same potential. It's just not likely to have the same impact on average especially if we're talking about a bunch of solo survivors who can't pop Adrenaline coordinatedly.

Think what you want anyways. It's fine to have different opinions.

My wife and I both play, she’s red rank survivor and frequently gets teamed up with not so good survivors. I as of late am a purple rank killer seem to get the a-team survivors, regardless of my killer and I understand I’m weaker or stronger depending on who I choose to play as. But what is up with teams lately?

I suppose if you play survivor (solo) you take up a place in the lobby basically blocking all the "a-team 4 man SWF" whereas as killer you don't take up anyone's place in the lobby resulting in loads of SWF matches.

As for bad teammates in general I'm starting to think people actively try to be bad teammates as a result of disrespectful behaviour towards each other.

Short story: I played survivor a few days ago. It was a Spirit at Lery's. I didn't get downed a single time throughout the trial, got chased multiple times and repaired 3 gens on my own. We're getting to the endgame and just as the last gen gets popped an Ace gets downed. I run to the exit gate and 99 it.

I run all the way across the map to see him get camped (which is perfectly fine since it's endgame anyways). The other 2 survivors are just crouching around the hook doing nothing.

Just before his timer runs out I notice Spirit looking around so I wait for the perfect moment and go for it. I unhook him and take a hit risking to get 1-hooked just to rescue that Ace. All of us make it out alive.

After the game he said "why did you wait for it so long?" instead of "thank you for the endgame rescue!"

I replied "way to act ungrateful". Nothing more. His reaction: "why should I thank you for something you should have done way earlier?"

Needless to say I didn't feel like playing another match afterwards.

People like him are the reason I rarely feel like playing survivor and if I do I usually max out in any category except for altruism.

  • 20-30 minutes? Queue times at rank 1 is around 2-3 minutes for me as survivor (XBOX One). Did the queue times explode when the devs added dedicated servers to PS4?

  • Untitled Image

I suppose it's due to the death rate and since it was part of Doc's rework the devs added that god pallet there rather than on deadlier maps like Hawkins.

  • Lightburn is a high risk/high reward mechanic for survivors. The survivor risks getting hit or downed for a POSSIBLE killer stun. The killer can work around lightburns by moving left and right or using line or sight blockers like trees, crates etc. nullifying the survivor's attempt of lightburning the killer resulting in a free hit/down.

Hmmm, and offending with tbag isnt... looks like real world to me, where bullies are let go free.

But how can a driven crazy killer act as a lord?

I'm merely informing the thread creator as they literally said they're taking notes to harass them in other matches.

  • @Oicimau said:

I just hate then. This is toxic, cause i only think offenses are toxic, and its meant to drive the killer crazy or humiliated.

As survivor, i dont unhook then. And a lot of other things ppl that make the game mood worse deserves.

As killer, though, i stop everything else and have a good time with the tbagger slugged. But sometimes they escape.

How do you fellow members, when playing as killers, do to assure tbaggers will have no fun the hole match? I need more tatics.

And I take note of the names, so the toxic player will aways be tunneled, camped and slugged by me, in whatever match Ill ever find him. It means, he can even manage to escape, but will have long matches doing nothing but standing downed and crawling.

It pleasures me, to punish the evil. It becomes my reason to play and have fun. No killing needed.

Specifically targeting players is a bannable offense.

Wow you're such a hero. I wish everybody could be as amazing as you.

Nice sarcasm you got there my dude but the game would in fact be better if people were more like me. I do not BM survivors when I play killer, I do not BM killers when I play survivor and I don't give up and suicide on hook like a baby just because I have a decreased chance of escaping ruining the game for literally all the other players of the trial.

  • Getting downed from anywhere on the map can be the result of lagging. What platform are you on? Asking because all platforms are running on dedicated servers except for XBOX ONE as far as I know.

As for the pallet break via vaulting. That's the result of an addon called "iridescent button". This is the icon:

    Untitled Image

    Description:

    • Your Terror Radius affects the entire Map.
    • Any Pallets you vault are immediately broken.

This effect lasts until the Power gauge is depleted.

It would be unplayable for aurvivors imagine that at some loop impposible to read a killer not a good idea

You realize you replied to a person that complains about 360's, don't you? Obviously first person wouldn't work for survivors. Imagine working on a generator in first person and it's a stealth killer. That's literally unplayable.

  • Just yesterday I let someone hit 2nd phase on purpose so I could finish my generator instead. However since that survivor was not an entitled baby who suicides on hook because of 2nd phase I unhooked them afterwards and distracted the killer for the rest of the match allowing all of them to escape. Needless to say I got facecamped on my 1st hook after and no one even tried to unhook me. I still didn't cry like an entitled baby. Got my pip anyways whereas the killer depipped.

Long story short: Just because you hit 2nd phase on your first hook doesn't mean you have no chance to survive. If you can't handle playing the game unless you have the highest chances of winning then DBD is not for you.

  • Scorpionz also found a green (purple) insta-heal once. @katoptris is probably right. Might be a visual bug.

I don't mind Billy's personally. But the ones who just chainsaw everything in sight, nope. I respect a Billy that doesn't just rely on a easy down. I've met a fair few who are fantastic to go against that really tested my skill

Not using a killer's power = testing your skill? 🤔 A Hillbilly that doesn't use his power = a good Hillbilly? That's what your comment sounds like.

  • Camping = only works against bad survivors. Completely luck based. Requires survivors to throw the game by sneaking around the hook instead of doing gens. Not a satisfying way to win for experienced killers as you just know you won because they let you.

Tunneling = works 50/50 even against experienced survivors IF you manage to tunnel the first survivors out of the game QUICKLY. However if you try and tunnel a solid looper who manages to get away from the hook and makes it to a good loop you will pretty much throw the game for no reason as you aren't pressuring the other survivors by tunneling one specific survivor.

Slugging: Requires luck and bad survivors that go down quickly. Luck because there are perks that will nullify the pressure you can POTENTIALLY gain from slugging. Simple scenario: You chase a survivor for around 40 seconds (half a generator per survivor) and you leave them after downing them. Now you go to the gens with the intention to build massive pressure. However that slugged survivor gets up using Unbreakable and immediately hops on a generator. Now you've wasted 1 hook and you potentially lost half a generator PER SURVIVOR if they were repairing gens during those 40 seconds.

If all survivors manage to loop decently, repair gens whenever they can AND run Unbreakable and/or Tenacity slugging can actually hurt you.

Do you think getting ds'd after NOT TUNNELING ..like dude i hook someone else and then i get ds'd regardless LOL

You guys should remove the DS possibilty if killers hook someone else .

If the devs made this change DS would become useless.

    1) killer instadowns the unhooker with Make Your Choice, Hillbilly, Bubba, Myers, Oni or because it's one of those guys that unhook while injured etc and tunnels the unhooked survivor right off the hook.

    2) killer hooks the unhooker first disabling DS.

    3) DS player got tunneled off the hook and hooked despite running DS.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124997/bloodlust

Maybe if you learn to loop instead of spamming those pallets, you would be able to stun him and cancel his bloodlust.

OP got chased for nearly 1.5 minutes and used 2 pallets. That's a strong chase. Also OP did loop the second pallet pretty well.

  • Killers are most definitely not too fast. As you said an average killer speed of 115% which is 4.6m/s allows the killer to close 0.6 meters of distance per second. That's enough for survivors to reach a pallet or window in most cases allowing them to either keep their distance or even build distance if they play said pallet or window correctly resulting in what we call a "chase".

If you are a strong survivor and the Entity is generous with the rng then you will often have a chance to loop the killer for more than 1 full minute - sometimes even 2+ minutes if it's a killer with a big ego. If you manage to distract a killer for that long then you've done everything right. At that point it's up to your teammates to do the other half of the job (gens).

Now if the devs were to increase the movement speed of survivors to 4.2m/s (105%) while decreasing the movement speed of average-speed killers to 4.5m/s (112.5%) even the worst survivor would be able to run a killer for around 50 seconds by simply using the hit-boost to run away in a straight line.

That's not what anyone should ask for in a PVP game that revolves around chases. Chases are supposed to be exciting and a measure of reaction times, mindgames, looping and juking skills, dodging hits etc.

If survivors were only 0.3m/s slower than killers then most survivors would never learn or even have to learn how to do any of the things I named above. Anyone would just run away in a straight line regardless of ranks and experience since the hit-boost combined with an exhaustion perk would make it so the killer would need to spend ages just to close the "first distance".

LONG STORY SHORT: Movement speeds are fine.

1 … 44 45 46 47 48 … 75
