The survivors that are not bodyblocked have the option to literally finish the game. EGC can be activated this the game can not be held hostage for that 1 survivor. His ability to escape is prevented but the overall game is not being held hostage. All of you are crybaby entitled Survivors that think every game deserves to be 4 escapes.
Once more, get over yourselves. Activate the gates, get out and move on.
This thread is literally OP crying because his friend couldn’t escape with him as if this is a real life or death situation. It’s a ######### video game that is already a disaster.
If we go by your logic then nobody is being held hostage. The survivors can kill the trapped survivor by activating the EGC ending the match and the killer can just hit the survivor(s) and chase them - again ending the match.
Good thing we cleared that up. However even if we ignored the bannable offense "holding the game hostage" the killer can still get banned for "griefing/intentional gameplay abuse" if they got actual footage of the killer trapping the survivor in that corner for 5 generators/all game.
As for the whiny "YoU dOn'T agReE wiTh mE wHiCh MeAnS yOu'Re A sUrviVoR mAiN": That's where you would have lost any credibility if you had ever posted something reasonable.

Lmao because the behavior of the survivors in this instance isn’t just as bad?
Get out of here. They’re the ones that can be reported as they’re taking the game hostage, not the wraith. He just admitted they refused to opened the gates until the Wraith moves or quits = they’re holding the Killer hostage.
How are the survivors holding the game hostage when the Wraith can hit the survivor(s) at any given time? Wraith can start a chase and play the game as intended and thus is NOT being held hostage. The only one who is being held hostage is the solo survivor in the corner as said solo survivor has absolutely 0% power over the actions of the killer.
Besides - bodyblocking someone in a corner for 5 gens can't be justified in anyway whatsoever unless you consider griefing a good and healthy thing in terms of gameplay and the future of this game.

No, you're not blind - there is no crosshair. That's what makes Huntress relatively difficult to play optimally. Nurse however has an addon that shows you exactly where you're blinking to.

Yeah like unbreakable or no mither
Tenacity is pretty good (and kinda fun), too. Crawling with increased crawling speed while recovering at the same time allows you to crawl to a teammate or a strong loop quickly which makes it difficult for the slugging killer to keep the pressure.
-
Slugging is not toxic and there is no room to complain about slugging when there are anti-slug perks that are easy to use.
-
3 ebony mori kills while insidious-camping resulting in emblem penalty and 1 DC = you obviously "won" BUT those were cheesy kills which is why the ranking system won't let you pip that way for your own safety as good survivors will destroy "cheesy strategies" any day of the week.
As for some survivors/their perks that you listed as sweaty:
- the person with Object of Obsession was obviously meme-ing. His first perk was No Mither. Might as well call it the "kill me - I'm over here - and injured" meme build.
- self care helps the killer more than it helps survivors. Many killer wins are the result of people self caring in a corner instead of working on gens while injured.
- and spine chill is just a beginner perk that's only useful against stealth killers and maybe Spirit to a small degree.
-
No.
-
Are you asking for a 1v1 in a 4v1 game? If so - who is supposed to repair generators while you're bloodlusting said survivor main to death to prove your mighty skill?

How could I know he's running Stridor or not? I could never know if he's just using a perk to help prove his point.
You might wanna take a look at the comments on page 2. People assumed I ran Stridor so I temporarily uploaded the original video. Chewy said "I take what I said about Stridor back and admit I was wrong about that." so that's out of the way.

@Yamaoka Ah yes, the point of the thread was to collect E: useful information when all that was asked in the OP was "Why do some killers pretend that sounds are gone?" and "How loud are survivors supposed to be?".
Content accusations I don't care about, I already called them ridiculous in my original reply.
If you prefer getting upset over one single word then I can't help you. Also I can add questions like "how loud are survivors supposed to be" all I want. You don't get to tell me what to ask bud. If you feel attacked over something as trivial as an ordinary question then maybe forums aren't for you.

Not really because that's still insinuating that people aren't having legitimate issues with sound and that there's no actual technical problem to be discussed here.
This another case of "yeah great you're not having problems but why the hell should anyone care?". The fact of the matter is that sounds did change with the Oni patch (likely because of the engine update) and for many they've become demonstrably worse and inconsistent, as has been the case with pretty much every other patch in the past that included engine changes. I legitimately don't understand what you hope to accomplish here other than signaling that you're not personally experiencing/noticing any issues. Which maybe that can be used somehow by BHVR but I doubt it.
The point of this thread is to collect information. People have posted sound bugs that can be reproduced so I don't understand what the point is in taking the title like a personal attack when it isn't. The thread questions on what factors people complain in terms of sounds and some forum users have greatly contributed to collecting valuable information in this regard. I got called a content thief for using blockers in my clips yet you don't see me get upset, do you?

I'm pretty sure people already outlined that for you. It's an accusation, not a proper opening for discussion. You're making it seem like people who are complaining about sound issues are completely insane and that they can't possibly be experiencing sound issues because you personally aren't or otherwise haven't paid enough attention to notice any.
The title is in no way meant to be insulting and to me it sounds like an ordinary question. Would it make more sense if I said "why do people claim" rather than "why do people pretend"?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think the main thing is that footsteps are majorly broken and Iron Will is basically cheating right now. Blendette + Iron Will = BS. Honestly the perk should be disabled until the devs publicly acknowledge that sound occlusion is borked again and come up with a fix.
I've also had 2-3 instances where a downed survivor simply made no noise at all. 2 were Janes, 1 was a Meg I think. It's rare but it happens.
@Yamaoka People are giving you a hard time because your title phrasing was god awful and you deserve every bit of criticism for it (sans ridiculous accusations). It's almost as bad as the CNN debate debacle.
What's wrong with the title?

@Gravewalker200 said:
@Yamaoka man people love giving you a hard time.
I can't blame them to be honest. I question issues if I don't experience them / don't notice them and I enjoy messing with perk/addon blockers. I'm such a bad person haha.

Slugging has a foolproof counter, Unbreakable. Which in turn has no counterplay from the killer, apart from just picking everyone up right away. Survivors have therefor no reasons to complain about it. If you don't like slugging, but then refuse to use a non-DLC teachable perk to counter it, then thats your fault, not the killer's.
Don't forget Tenacity. Makes getting slugged even fun for me at least. Crawling to a strong loop with increased crawling speed WHILE recovering at the same time is pretty good against slugging.

I take what I said about Stridor back and admit I was wrong about that. Doesn't change how the original video and channel looks rather odd in being edited in both blocking builds and having overscan. If you care about uploading clips and even go through the effort of editing them for one reason or another, then why don't you bother to care about how they look or to the point of crap?
It doesn't add up to me. You having a source doesn't change my opinions of the content possibly not being yours as you still need an unedited copy in order to edit.
Plus, this can also be proof towards sounds being bugged. You can't hear the Survivor till after you get line of sight. Sound is suppose to go through walls with each wall and overall distance making the sounds harder to hear.
Hearing breathing through a wall is unlikely, but on the other side of a rock/tree? And moments later as the Killer walks away ALL sounds (pain grunts and self caring) are lost going from 90-80% to 0% the moment you go past another tree not a couple meters away.
In the very video you posted showing how sounds aren't bugged. Survivors don't make any sounds at all once you are a few steps away from them in what should have been half cover at best.
You are free to believe what you want. There is literally no way to "prove" that my clips are mine. I don't even know why I would have to prove it anyways. Anyways you see there's no Stridor and regular breathing was loud enough to find a survivor. That's why I wondered why people make a fuzz about sounds. As others have clarified it appears to be an inconsistent issue making it seem like everything was fine for some players whereas others experience game breaking sound bugs. At this point there's not much more to say to this topic.

When you are talking about bugs or overall balance, you can't hide your perks as there are perks that effect bugs/balance.
Stridor is one example in this case. If he is running Stridor then it effects his claim of sounds being fine. I even think he does have Stridor from how loud that Survivor was compared to my personal gameplay. It simply makes him look fishy and like he has something to hide.
He clearly has something to hide anyway from needlessly blocking off his perks and add-ons. There should be zero reasons to do that. Even if he was a streamer, hell I don't even think the OP was the one playing the game to start with!
Look at his past videos. Half of them are zoomed in and/or have massive overscanning. No one records their gameplay like that. The first few videos was normal but once he started to cover his build the vast majority of the videos became horrible quality with overscans as if he used a phone or camera to record his monitor.
This topic smells of fish, the YT channel looks of content theft, and the OP himself feels like he has an agenda. This is one of those cases where the OP needs to defend himself. He made a claim and needs to defend it against others calling him out. He got himself into this with using poorly edited videos as "proof".
So much for content theft and Stridor.
-
Whatever you seem kinda weird to me so I prefer not to talk to you anymore. Bye.
-
One of my questions was whether people experienced the sound issue regardless of their platform. That's in fact more useful for the devs than your typical "that's bait" comment.
@Chewy102 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1003361#Comment_1003361
If you did that, there wouldn't be any question that the game is working as intended. For that game at least.
As others have said the sound bugs aren't 100% certain to happen every game. I have had maybe 1 game since the last patch with bugged sounds (Survivor on the ground not making any noise) but I have also watched videos of it happening to others. So for you and me, there might not be any bugs. But I know better from DbD's history of being a buggy mess and it breaking at random every single patch.
Given the fact you think I'm fishy, probably stealing clips, running stridor to push an agenda etc. I'll just upload the original in a minute.
Any other specific clip that I should upload without perk blockers? I just like toying with my editor I didn't think someone would come up with a conspiracy theory as to why I would do that.

Let's be serious, a German console streamer who has so much subs that people are willing to stream snipe him? No way, also just quick checked the channel and there aren't any twitch links whatsoever.
Theoretically it could be my secondary YT account which I exclusively use to upload console clips but in this case you're correct. I am most definitely not a streamer. I'm not even remotely interesting enough to stream given the fact I only play Bubba.

@Atchoo said:
They are not always gone - but the complains are valid. I sometimes notice that my injured survivor acts like I´ve equipped Iron Will. And as killer the footsteps of survivors close to you are not always hearable.
@Aven_Fallen said:
From my experience, it happens quite rarely. It was more a few weeks ago, because at this point, I was no able to follow people with Spirit, even if they did not have Iron Will, they were completely silent.
But overall, I dont have this issue that often. Yesterday I had it, a Jake was neither crying nor had any footsteps.
It is not happening on a regular Basis.
Ohhh okay so it's an issue that's not consistent. I haven't noticed/experienced the sound issues named by @Seltas0208 which is why I was genuinely confused as to what people were even referring to as I often find survivors due to something as quiet as normal breathing sounds as seen in the clip.
I wonder if it's a platform specific issue, too. Everyone who seems to complain about sounds appears to be on PC but I could be wrong.

Is it a PC issue because I keep finding survivors because of how loud they breathe. I even clipped one moment where I found a Claudette as her normal breathing was so loud I even heard it while walking past her with several meters of distance.

So? Bubba op now?

OK. You have never played in high purple/red ranks because survivors practically own the game at these ranks.
For the 3rd time: Clip contains multiple post game screenshots against different red rank teams one of which was a 4 man SWF with 3 toolboxes and brand new part on Thompson House. Even someone in the thread recognized them and mentioned they were a strong SWF team yet they still lost as the game quite simply is too easy as killer.

I did respond on page 1.
-
@Pulsar said:
I disagree. A three game stint is not a large enough sample size to draw conclusions from.
However, I believe I know the issue. Most, not all, red rank Survivors are very boosted, especially because of the new Rank Reset. I have definitely encountered this problem on Xbox. Additionally, the MM is screwed up right now, meaning I usually have one green rank in my game as a Rank 1 Killer.
That being said, I think if gen times are addressed, the Ruin change will be for the better. Until that happens, the game will be miserable for a lot of average-good Killers. People like Otz and Tru3 may not be affected as much, but the "normal" Killer will be.
Perhaps the developers are planning to add a secondary objective but can't do so with current Ruin in the game. Or maybe the next chapter is going to introduce yet another gen defense perk which would possibly be too strong with current Ruin. Personally I think the devs are up to something.
-
So now statistics matter all of a sudden?🤔 Guess we can all agree that killers need to get heavily nerfed IMMEDIATELY based on the kill rate statistics then!

I appreciate this greatly. I remember starting as killer in mid 2017, and all the bs that was available back then. I can’t even imagine some of the stuff that was there before that.
I feel a lot of people try and push some narrative, like gen rushing or camping, but really doesn’t happen often. Most people are just playing for fun and are pretty chill. Bad games happen, but they’re the minority, at least in my experience.
Same haha I remember when I started off as Huntress back in 2017 without Ruin. Some matches just felt hopeless with multiple sprint bursts or dead hards in one chase, all the safe pallets and windows, the old brand new part etc.
DBD certainly has come a looong way and is actually quite enjoyable at this moment compared to how things were.

Okay just wanted to ask because I recognize one of the names in the screenshots and I can confirm they are indeed a strong SWF team. Though the fact there was a DC kind of muddles your point just because there are a lot of survivors that insta-DC in certain instances.
That said, I agree with you that majority of games are pretty easy for killer even at red ranks. Most games are actually in your favor. Some games are not. Other games you will get really strong survivors or SWF groups and those will be a challenge, but the thing is Ruin wouldn't make a difference. In fact in my experience, Ruin is more of a hindrance simply because it either gets destroyed within 30 seconds or (when it comes to those good survivors/SWF) makes literally zero difference in gen speeds. I've had Ruin only to have 2-3 gens still pop my first chase like it wasn't even there. And I've been on the giving end of that, in fact tonight my 4 man SWF man at least 2 killers quit by doing 3 gens through Ruin in the first 2 minutes of the game.
Fact is against the best survivors or strong SWF groups, Ruin does nothing to help. It helps a lot against survivors where you could have likely won anyway without Ruin. I've been playing most killers without Ruin for months now and I feel like it's made me a better killer. I can contend with those top players better and I found better tactics.
Ruin is highly overrated by killer mains as the only option. It's not the only option, and it's actually a weak option on top of that. Pop is much MUCH more effective at controlling gen speeds.
I believe the guy that DC'd was on death hook as they dc'd after getting downed towards mid game. As for Ruin helping mostly against survivors that would have lost anyways: I TOTALLY AGREE. In fact that's what I said numerous times myself. You just notice it too often that people who run around like headless chickens because of Ruin are the same people that go down in seconds.

So, that one match is supposed to speak for all red rank matches?
Again: The clip contains multiple red rank matches in a row and my channel is flooded with matches just like these. Kept posting 1-2 minute 4ks over the course of 2019. Only VERY FEW matches are actually difficult and due to the new rank reset it's even easier to dominate at red ranks.
-
@Rivyn said:
So if I post a vid of me stomping an inexperienced killer in under six minutes, will that mean what the forums are backing is true, and Ruin is required? I mean, that's what you're doing here, right?
Yes and no. The forums are usually flooded with people acting like every other game ended in 5 minute because "gen rush" so I wanted to remind people that games end just as quickly in killer's favour and pretty often at that making it seem fairly easy to play killer as opposed to how people talk about killer gameplay most of the time.
The vast majority seems to say killer gameplay is just stressful and difficult all the time when most games are VERY chill these days. When I started playing killer survivors had pallet vacuums, exhaustion regression while sprinting, more pallets and more windows in general etc. so after all these changes killer gameplay seems fairly easy which is going to change now with the Ruin change.
I'm looking forward to the change as it will be an actual challenge to get a 4k and not just the "typical outcome of a killer game".

Apparently tons of games uploaded throughout the year are all meaningless and killer is stressful and difficult at all times.
Anyways this thread expresses my opinion. That's what a forum is for. I feel like killer gameplay is a total joke these days. If you and most killers on this forums think otherwise that's totally fine.

You are playing on consol LUL and one match of dominating survivors doesnt say that EVERY match is gonna be like that. I have days where I only find bad survivors that I kill before they can even finish 1 gen wihtout ruin.
But some days the sweaty swf are online and I cant even play A tier killers without getting genrushed and teabagged at the exit gate. It depends on the survivor you get and sadly the majority of survivors are not that great at their job. No offence to anyone but it is the truth.
Contains 3 post game screenshots of different teams one of which brought 3 toolboxes and brand new part (4 man SWF - confirmed via friendly messages). And console doesn't make a difference. PC players are no different. I watch Tru3's streams every once in a while so don't pretend it's a console thing. It's more like a "game is quite simply easy as killer" thing.
-
Slug whenever you feel like it's the correct way to apply pressure. However if survivors are smart they will immediately run to the other side of the map as soon as they scream due to Infectious hard countering it in most cases. At least that's how I play against it and so far I ALWAYS escaped Infectious-slugging killers fairly easily.
I always run to the other side of the map and start repairing a gen forcing the killer to either give up the slugged survivor completely or give up the gen completely. I'm honestly shocked how helpless most survivors are as soon as you slug. It's easily countered.
Therefore do it whenever you feel it's the right call. If someone runs to the other side of the map however I would just pick up and hook the slug otherwise you just risk losing any pressure and hooks.
-
Most NOED players usually run Ruin on top of NOED anyways...
-
I've met all kinds of people playing this game over the course of the years. Some types of people are fairly similar:
- one type of dbd player acts all chill from the beginning and remains pretty chill as they just don't care too much about the game in the first place. That's usually the kind of person however that doesn't play dbd "too much" and spends a lot of time on other games besides dbd.
- then there's the angry addict that has been getting triggered by small things from day 1. That's usually the kind of person that stays angry no matter how much time passes. I always suggest to stop playing dbd completely with no exception if someone is that kind of person as there are healthier games out there that can provide just as much fun minus the "stress" that this kind of person experiences playing DBD.
- another type of dbd player I noticed is the person that starts off chill but gets kinda salty the more time they spend playing dbd as they think they "deserve" to have a good gaming experience at all times which just isn't possible in ANY pvp game. PVP games always require luck and skill for a good experience. This type of person either quits the game, starts playing it rarely or keeps playing it in a rather sour/salty way like certain streamers who are streaming at this very moment.
