  • I win most of my matches anyways so I don't mind farming once in a while if someone disconnects right away. Last game TWO survivors disconnected during the first minute so I kind of felt like I just had to farm with the remaining survivors. Both of them were pretty grateful and cooperative so I enjoyed fooling around and farming with them.

I was never implying that killer is the power role. And a survivor main? Yeah not happening I prefer to play killer more, when I first started playing I preferred survivor but now I prefer killer I still play both but like I said it ain't my fault if you don't have enough skill to dismantle SWF groups. I was around during the release and have played on 2 different systems so I may know a bit more than you. And saying I'm an "Entitled survivor main" is like me saying that you're an "Entitled killer main" it proves nothing regardless whether or not it's true because that's irrelevant. It's just a stupid viscous cycle of killers complaining about survivors and survivors complaining about killers. Why doesn't everyone stop crying like little girls who lost their "Dolly" and grow up and just play the damn game just like it is. Everyone knows what they are coming into when they buy the game. A 4v1 experience.

You realize many people on this forums have been playing DBD actively for years, don't you? If you DID know as much as you pretend to know you'd not say things like

"(...)it ain't my fault if you don't have enough skill to dismantle SWF groups(...)"

Winning in DBD is NOT all about skill. It's about:

    - skill

    - decisions

    - map

    - killer (character)

    - perk loadout of all survivors

    - perk loadout of the killer

    - items

    - spawn locations of all clients

    - map rng

    - luck

Play Clown with NO PERKS and NO ADDONS at Temple Of Purgation against a rank 1 SWF team consisting of "optimal loopers" that have 5000+ hours in the game combined with 4 brand new parts in a purple engineer toolbox, adrenaline, dead hard, decisive, prove thyself and you will see how meaningless the term "skill" can be especially if everyone spawns on their own generator while you spawn as far away from all survivors as possible.

couple pixels are moving OMG TOXIC call police xd ingame nothing is toxic, only toxic thing in DBD is postgame chat

You can belittle actions as much as you want. Tbagging the killer serves no other purpose but to trigger said killer which makes the action by my definition toxic regardless of wether it actually triggers said killer or not. Personally I don't mind tbaggers, flashlight clickers etc because I know I will win anyways but I knew several people who quit the game because of cheeky survivors who rub it in when/if they win. As a result there's only sweaty killers left in the game who will even camp/tunnel even if someone disconnects at 5 gens with Ruin up.

  • I think there's a misunderstanding. I thought you suggested tbagging was not toxic so I asked why YOU tbag then if it's not to trigger the killer.

What's so imbalanced about it? Because we can communicate? Or because it's too difficult for most killers to handle?

The game isn't balanced around SWF with voice communication. That makes it -by definition- imbalanced because DBD is all about making smart decisions which is BY FAR easier if you can literally talk to the other players.

On top of that most SWF teams bring the strongest perk setups and strongest items in the game.

Basically SWF is like an easy mode for survivors no matter how you put it. I used to play SWF with only ONE teammate. He wasn't even good at the game despite getting rank 1 every season. He had 30 second chases ON A GOOD DAY.

Even with that mediocre teammate I was able to win/escape more often than not due to the fact we knew each other's perks, items and strengths/weaknesses and on top of that we were able to make smarter decisions.

Huge/unfair advantage in my book. Nowadays I play solo only because said teammate got too horny after 1 year of playing SWF on a daily basis and I notice a huge difference. Now add 2 MORE teammates that know each other's perks, items, strengths, weaknesses etc. and you will realize what makes SWF so powerful.

Most SWF i play against are toxic sadly. And i give you a simple mindblowing advice: How about never being toxic? Boom!

So you're saying you don't tbag with the intention to trigger the killer? Why do you tbag then?

Soo you just walk around as spirit without hitting a survivor (starting a chase) because survivors will hook themselves?

(Im not counting beads because most survivors i faced with beads get more vigilant after someone gets nabbed early in the game from a gen)

Grabbing people is always possible at any rank even without addons. Scorpionz has done it a lot recently despite being a dedicated Pig main. Another instance of getting hooks without chases (I said without chases not without hitting survivors) is when they're healing and your basic Nurse's Calling Beads Spirit phases right to them resulting in downs without triggering the chase mechanic. Happens at any rank as well regardless of how "vigilant" people are. It always happens at some point during a game.

Also Hillbilly can be looped by any mediocre survivor. Spirit can not.

  • @Rinthespooki said:

As much as i love spirit, hillbilly has the ability to end chases very, very quickly.

Spirit can literally get hooks WITHOUT chasing survivors.

If it's such a prevalent problem don't play the game.

Let's just ignore killers are literally facecamping people for playing specific characters or using specific items or perks.

  • People never got their OLD mettle of man against me as I rarely ever use the basic attack. New mettle of man is more of a myth than a perk to me.

Console bans haven't been technically possible one year ago, it only works since the beginning of this year.

If you encounter this group again, report them again. I would be surprised if the community managers would not ban griefers despite having the means to do so.

You're right! It totally slipped my mind console bans weren't a thing a year ago. If I manage to find their lobby using a secondary account (last time they dodged my main account as they probably know what I'm up to since I let them hunt me down multiple times last year) I will definitely record everything and report them again.

  • Don't expect anything to happen. I reported a similar group (I'm on XBOX too) that also (ab-)uses my main Leatherface to farm "outsiders" to death. They're still playing and still hunting down "outsiders" even though I reported them multiple times ONE YEAR AGO. At this point I'm so sick of how lousy bans are dealt with I don't even want to play anymore. Good thing there's other games out there worth playing at the moment.

  • @No_Cluie_Louis said:

I dont understand how they even find it fun to play like this like they just stand still

I don't think facecampers do it for fun but rather to annoy people. Remember there are tons of 10 year olds playing this game. A typical child reaction to getting stomped by specific people is to annoy OTHER people to get rid of the built up frustration.

Someone on this forum (I won't name them because some mods probably wait for a reason to ban me anyways) literally posted they're facecamping as Bubba EVERYTIME THEY HAVE A BAD GAME AS SURVIVOR AND/OR GET CAMPED/TUNNELED BY A KILLER. That should tell you enough about the motivation of certain facecampers.

  • Meanwhile every second game of mine looks like this after the first minute:

    https://youtu.be/2i0Qr2W0aMI https://youtu.be/xY2A2L5nKys https://youtu.be/ygk82vEkgwY

But yeah killers are totally underpowered toys for survivors. 13 4k's at 5gens is not enough. Please nerf survivors even more. Will people ever stop acting like this game was heavily survivor sided just because the very elite can win more often than not when playing SWF which does not represent normal solo survivor gameplay? After all these survivor nerfs literally every killer I know 4ks at least 8 out of 10 games. It's so rare to see an experienced killer lose a game even when they mess up quite a bit. Just practice and if you particularly struggle with finding people just run tracking perks.

  • Are grunts of pain even intended while downed if you are running Iron Will? The perk's description does NOT state "your grunts of pain are not suppressed while downed" or something like that. It definitely should work while downed otherwise the perk is just inconsistent like... Well.. Like half of the game.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

wait you can fart in DEAD BY DAYLIGHT?!?!

Honestly can't blame survivors for dipping via the hatch when there's a killer farting around. Hopefully it wasn't an in-door map like Lery's. Poor survivors.

  • Leatherface is the only killer in the game that creates a 100% movement controlled "AOE death zone". That's -by definition- an overpowered concept for a game like DBD as he can "theoretically" down the entire survivor team in one swing.

Now obviously the developers know something as powerful as this concept NEEDS to be limited by numerous factors otherwise they would quite simply break the game.

    Leatherface's (base) limiting factors are:

    - slow charge up time (2.1 seconds / 8.4 meters running distance for survivors by default)

    - speed penalty while charging/holding the chainsaw (86.25% movement speed by default)

    - slow acceleration which can't be noticeably altered by chili addons

    - slow top speed (126.5% during the chainsaw end-animation that can't down a survivor)

    - long tantrum when bumping into stuff (5 seconds / 20 meters running distance for survivors by default)

    - low chainsaw attack range of 15 meters (which allows survivors to outrun his base chainsaw by running around small objects and even some trees)

And these are just his "chainsaw weaknesses". His overall weaknesses include lack of mobility/map pressure/gen defense/can be seen from across the map etc.

Now you can improve his chainsaw attack to a certain agree using addons.

If you use charge up addons / instasaw you will notice that people can still vault windows in time often because you'll lack movement speed during the chainsaw attack.

If you use speed addons (speed addons increase his charge time by 12% each) you will notice that people can still vault windows often because you can't start the chainsaw attack in time.

Using one charge addon and one speed addon is therefore advised for beginner-Bubbas. The Beast's marks + Carburetor Tuning Guide/Primer Bulb. It's nothing groundbreaking but it will allow you to get more chainsaw opportunities.

Me and @GrootDude share the same opinion when it comes to his strongest addons. Bubba's strongest addons are his speed addons (combined). You may get an overall charge time of just over 2.6 seconds but it allows Bubba to chainsaw around small loops and zone people due to the increased speed AND chainsaw range (+0.5 meters for knife scratches and +1.3 meters for Beast's Marks).

Due to the charge time of 2.6+ seconds (both speed addons) you need to know every vault and pallet location by heart however as you need to charge up your chainsaw as quickly as possibly to deny vaults but still within the (increased) range which takes some practice. That's why I suggest you try and practice with a combination of Beast's Marks and Primer Bulb/Tuning Guide to get used to using the chainsaw at increased distances.

  • I decided to make a secondary account so they won't dodge me next time allowing me to record everything. As nerdy as it sounds I will make it my mission to get them banned. There's no place for cheaters in DBD. Not on my watch.

  • @Mister_xD said:

just reporting them ingame isnt enough in such cases.

if you submit a support ticket with video evidence of them doing this, i am sure they will be banned rather sooner than later.

the devs wont ban without evidence - which is a good thing, since no one can abuse the report system that way. reporting them ingame is still not a bad choice, as you draw attention to their group and - when you add the support ticket with the evidence - its easier to track their profiles and ban them.

I'm not able to get video evidence as they've started dodging me but I know they've done this to several other players throughout the last year so they must have gotten reported like a million times by different players. Hopefully someone else records them and sends it to the devs. I remember one of them even live streamed their "outsider hunt". Perhaps it's saved on his account. I'm gonna take a look.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

Unfortunately, the devs seem to be very lenient when it comes to bans. The only reason I can think of is that they're afraid of accidentally banning an innocent player.

Well to be fair I can see why they don't take reports seriously. I get reported myself for whatever reason everytime I play killer despite playing relatively fair compared to most killers.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

    wait are you on xbox?

    Yes I am

  • Question: Whats wrong with tunneling and camping?

Short answer: Camping/tunneling doesn't allow the camped/hook-tunneled person to play the game.

Full answer: Also it's the least skillful way to win as you literally only win if the other survivors don't decide or manage to rush gens quickly enough which means you basically never win by "outplaying" them but due to the fact "they let you win".

Lastly camping/hook-tunneling doesn't help you get better at the game making it a waste of everyone's time because you ruined the game for the camped/tunneled survivor(s) without increasing your odds of winning against strong survivors who will ultimately go against you and (obviously) win "EZ" due to the fact you wasted your playtime camping/tunneling survivors (often for childish reasons like breaking your hex totem) instead of practicing chasing, tracking, pressuring generators etc.

  • I guess it's because technically you're "dying" while downed hence the term "dying state". The only reason you can even crawl while downed is balance [slugging full teams would be far too easy if nobody was able to crawl away and recover in a corner] and gameplay quality (I think).

  • I've just watched Scorpionz (specialized Pig main - devotion 13 rank 1) 4k at 4gens as perkless/addon-less Spirit against red rank survivors with toolboxes. Yupp her basekit is totally fine.

  • What killer+build did you try? Just curious

  • I like how you made option 3 sound like a whiny survivor main using caps and an exaggerated statement just so nobody disagrees with you. 😂

Your opinion: "(...) i think Michael Myers should be given his bloodlust back. It wasn't even much of a problem to begin with (...)"

Option 1 totally agrees with your opinion.

Option 2 sort of agrees with your opinion by adding "(...)it would be nice(...)"

Option 4 doesn't fully agree/disagree with your opinion.

  • The only thing Project Resistence and DBD seem to have in common is the fact both are asymmetrical games.

In Dead By Daylight (killer perspective) you're playing one out of numerous different killers including movie icons. Regardless of the killer you pick you'll always ACTIVELY try to chase and kill survivors using their specific abilities and gamestyles.

In Project Resistance you're exclusively playing a mastermind who uses all kinds of mechanics such as blocking doors, summoning monsters including Mr.X etc. to stop the survivors from escaping within their time limit. Therefore Project Resistance is more of a PASSIVE game.

As for survivor gameplay Project Resistance seems to offer "something" but having strict roles with no variables seems like a way to get bored of the game very quickly. You got a healer, a boxer, a tank and a hacker. In DBD you got 71 survivor perks allowing you to sort of make your own survivor class using the survivor you want.

Overall I think Project Resistance seems way too different. DBD players are probably not going to play it as a "dbd replacement" but more like another interesting game.

I certainly would play both games.

  • Survivors have always gotten a notification if someone got injured during the endgame using a non-basic attack (hatchets for instance). The Pig's dash attack no longer counts as a basic attack thus informing all survivors while not putting one into the dying state.

  • Did you hit that Feng Min during the game by any chance or was she that fast all along from the start of the game?

  • Damn she must have one hell of a gaming chair. On a serious note I think that's a rare bug that gets caused by hitting a survivor with a basic attack. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • People who insult you after outperforming you are usually those who lose... A LOT and thus get overly "energetic" if they win for once and typically try to get rid of all the anger/frustration that's been buildung up as a result of their previous games/losses. Don't take their statements personally. That kind of person usually quits the game sooner or later as they can't handle losing and... Well... Everyone loses in DBD sometimes.

  • So people can't see my incredibly op addons and overall loadout haha. Actually I just want people to have something to figure out when watching my clips.

  • This question can NOT be answered "per se" due to the number of variables.

Killers can seem op - so can survivors depending on the variables:

    - what map is it?

    - what map rng is it?

    - which items did the survivors bring?

    - what survivor perks?

    - what killer perks and addons?

    - spawn locations of all clients?

    - are the survivors SWF or solo?

    - what specific killer is it?

    - how many (active) hours do the survivors have in the game?

    - how many (active) hours does the killer have in the game?

Take a strong SWF team consisting of optimal loopers combined with the best toolboxes and Prove Thyself and put them against a "Clown without perks or addons" at a big map like Temple Of Purgation or Thompson's House with the best map rng possible (which in both cases includes tons of strong tiles and pallets) and the Clown will MOST LIKELY get utterly destroyed even if "both teams" are about even in factors such as game hours/experience.

Take a bunch of mediocre Solo Survivors without items and put them against a 5000+ hour Spirit main on a small map with Ruin,Thrill Of The Hunt, BBQ or Devour Hope, Dying Light combined with Prayer Beads+Mother-Daughter-Ring and the survivors are going to regret playing the game.

  • Sometimes people do mess with other survivors for literally no reason.

When playing survivor I typically try to repair the mid generator at the start of the game to split all remaining generators up increasing the chances of survival even though it usually results in an early game chase for me.

There was that Dwight however who followed me and started vault-spamming the window next to me. I still commited to the generator.

During chases he tried to block pallets and stuff as well. Due to my experience with griefers I knew how to play around him but at 1 remaining generator neither he nor the other survivor did anything so I decided to just give up and repair a generator while injured against a Ghostface. Basically a free down.

After getting myself killed I watched the Dwight and realized he was trying to communicate with the killer by tbagging the hatch and pointing to the hook as in "hook me so the other survivor comes for the rescue. Then kill them and give me the hatch".

Luckily the Ghostface decided to just kill the other survivor AND the Dwight.

That Dwight was a devotion 3 player btw. I thought it was some kind of a newbie-troll. Kinda unexpected.

Long story short: SOME people really do bodyblock and stuff for absolutely no reason. I'm as useful as a teammate can be and I still run into (bad word) every now and then.

  • Well... Yes and No.

Bubba is the killer I've spent most of my hours on during the past years and I still enjoy playing him. When playing against optimal (or even just decent) loopers however I always feel sort of robbed as they make me realize you can play him optimally and still have little to no chance of catching them unless you let them go till you find them in a more vulberable spot of the map. I wish his basekit was a little stronger.

Just 2 meters of additional base chainsaw-range, a little more base speed while revving the chainsaw or a quicker base charge time would be enough of a buff but I guess the devs don't give much about him considering they've not even fixed the chainsaw sound bug that's been in the game since the Plague's release even though I reported the sound bug ages ago.

I encountered a no mither-sabo-rush-duo once when I played survivor. Never would I have expected the game to go as well as it did. It was a Michael Myers and he literally started meme-ing because of the hook destroying no mithers. At the end of the game Myers kept knocking his head against a gate. I was like "well... I'm guessing being semi decent at the game pisses off killers

It does - IF the killer is extremely bad at the game. Bad killers typically look for a reason to facecamp a survivor which is kind of sad considering that specific type of killer doesn't even differentiate between solo players and toxic-tbagging-fullmeta-VoiceCom-SWF players. That specific "type of killer" will always act salty no matter what you do UNLESS YOU LITERALLY DIE IN 10 SECONDS.

As a result this type of killer causes skillful solo players to rarely play the game leaving all the other killers with nothing but toxic SWF teams.

Personally I think killers should really try and act a little more "normal" towards solo players. Those are the guys that allow you to have fun games afterall.

But where am I to say something like this? Haha.

  • This is just an anti-nerf thread. Op wants people to react exactly the way they did. Also -just by the way- people can tell what kind of ranks the survivors were just by looking at the perks anyways.

  • Wait... Leatherface is op? Last time I checked the forums people were still saying he was the weakest killer in the game. Can people make up their minds?

  • If you're not 100% sure whether a hit is going to go through the pallet rather lean against the wall and hope the killer swings through it. That's an option.

The other option is to just throw it a little more quickly even when you could have run another lap.

If you run to the pallet (start of a chase) and you're not sure whether you'll get hit due to the drop animation just take the hit anyways without dropping the pallet at all and use the speed boost to loop somewhere else.

1 … 52 53 54 55 56 … 75
