Didn't they already said they were adding status icons though? And we all know that won't stop the pinhead hate lol

Deathslinger is currently the weakest killer in the game so the only reason to play him over any other killer is only for fun

Realistically if I worked at BHVR it'd be as a writer, since that's my vocation, and so my answer would be changing Nurse's awful tome lore lmao
It'd be nice to see adjustments and maybe soft-caps for action speed boosts, though. That'd do a lot to help the game.
What's bad abour her lore? I'm genuinely asking cause I stopped reading past the killer description lol
-
If they rework nurse then all people would face would be blight after blight, which is even more boring in my opinion.
I hope they buff more killers so maybe that way I dont know what to expect before going into a match
-
I've been playing nurse for a long time, and the things I found to hurt me/ work against her the most are:
1) Double-back after losing LOS
2) Keep moving in the same direction she last saw you before losing LOS
3) Lose LOS and move away from the tile instead of doing point 1 or 2.
I swear to god most survivors in my matches do point 1 90% of the time and by the time they understand it doesnt work they're on death hook already.
Playing against nurse is about mixing these 3 points together and to be unpredictable as possible, you can also avoid doing things like looking behind you if you're about to double back because that just gives it away a lot.
But when I face survivors who do a combination of those 3 things it really messes me up.

Can't wait for the "Down a survivor using Victor's pounce from 30m away" type of missions, real fun waiting ahead

No issue for killers either, it's just player skill issue.
See streamers doing 4K games 50 in row, if anything killers overpowered, its just easier to blame the game than learn to play. After the nerfs probably we will see 500+ games won in a row as killer with 3-4K
I guess if the Devotion 50, 8k hours streamer wins many games it must be because killer is overpowered right?
You should come back to read your post after playing at least a single game as a killer, it will bring a new perspective
-
I don't think the game is dying yet, there are way less players on steam every month, but nothing to consider it a "dying" game. I do believe that the game could start having issues if the devs don't fix the balance problems, grind, hackers and overall "unfun" ambient the game is getting. Specially considering there are a lot of asymm games coming very very soon.
Me and my swf moved to VHS as soon as we all got a key for it, and unsurprinsigly, not even the most DBD fanboy of my friends even thought to come back to dbd lol
But there are a lot more coming like the evil dead or leatherface games, so I'm pretty sure those who've been playing DBD the longest are the ones that will move first.
But even if it wasn't for old players leaving, the grind makes new players impossible to come and play (having to spend millions of BP but facing people with way more hours than them isn't really fun). For example, I hoped into the account of a friend who hadn't played killer yet, and faced survivors with the same playtime as I do in my main account (2k hours).
So, maybe, with the amount of issues DBD isn't fixing and haven't for years, plus new fun games of the same genre coming soon, I do think it could impact negatively this game. And I hope so too, maybe that way devs will actually start handling issues with this game.
-
because no one at bhvr plays killer past ash level so they dont actually know what is and isn't broken in the killer side

On PS4 there are no options so the default is ground clutter everywhere making it hard to see, some maps are too dark to see anything and there are no brightness options (I’m not messing with my TV so every other game looks too bright), 10-20 fluctuating FPS, and intermittent freezing whenever an action or power is used by anyone anywhere on the map.
PS4 Dbd sounds pretty fun I see

These kind of posts never get old for me. I love to see people complaining about something that's been broken for years.

I confirmed it today.
Once you unlock a character, you'll get the special intro 7 days after. You don't even have to watch the intro, if you skip it you 'll still get the charm
i bought Sadako on the 10th, and today 17th i logged in and got the new intro and the charm

If they give us a fov slider they might as well make killer 3rd person. No its fine the way it is imo
I think if the fov was fine the way it is we wouldnt have shadowborn. The fov was made low on purpose probably to have more perk variation back then.
But now there's no reason for it to be tied to a perk anymore, not with killer only having 4 slots

Friday the 13th. BHVR would find a way to make it a Trapper clone with something like a tp or close. Which would be a very uninteresting design that'd feel like a cashgrab (well, like all of their licenses lol)
-
Demo shred itself outshines Sadako's entire kit. So unless you're going for "fun" then Demo is better in all cases.
-
Why would a new player stick to this game?
You buy DBD, if you want to play survivor you'll see there's hundreds of fun perks you want to unlock but with an average of 15k-20k BP per match it's just not something amazing to see. Add a few matches with randoms that don't help or killers that camp, and you got bored of the game already.
As a killer, you will get matched with gold/iri ranks in your first matches because that's just how the matchmaking is working right now. As soon as a survivor realizes you're new to the game you won't have a good time and they'll abuse that. You'll spend your first games with 0k and being bullied. What motivates you to keep trying?
Licenses might be good eyecandy for those looking at the steam shop, and it might even make people buy the game. But once they see past the good visuals DBD offers you understand why this game is losing players.
-
Survivor's turning rate is like 2-3 times faster than ADS turning rate. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Quickscoping isn't viable in most cases anymore, ADS isn't viable in most cases anymore.
-
I don't even know what's real anymore in this forum
-
You have to understand that DBD is no longer a fully asymmetrical horror game. It's been turned into a party game by the devs, where they're focusing on group of friends playing survivor on a friday night rather than those who play daily. They keep releasing 2nd chance, aura reading, information perks, etc. Just to make the life of those friends who play casually easier.
If a group of friends has a good time against a killer (good time as they don't have to put much effort in winning) they'll keep playing for the night, and hopefully enjoy it to the point where they'll buy cosmetics or the rift.
That's why a lot of things are broken in the killer side, like OP maps, structure combinations, perk synergies, etc. It's not really that the devs don't care, its just that they don't give much priority to the killer side because they focus more on the other.
IF devs did play killer side, or at least did more than 2 matches of playtesting before releasing an update we would have never seen CoH, nor we would have seen pre-nerfed boil over (a perk that you could see it was broken the moment you read the description), or Haddonfield wouldn't have been OP since release, or Thompson house wouldn't have had a place where you couldn't get hooked.
The list goes on, but its clear that the playtesters in the killer side at BHVR are either fully survivor sided or stuck at ash ranks. This has been proven for years now, like it or not.
As a killer the game isn't designed for you to have much fun but rather serve as an entertainer for the survivors.
-
This is a good thing, most newcomers that try killer and get matched with survivors like those will not stay long in the game, or at least not playing killer. Which means longer queue times for survivors which equals to more survivors leaving the game with their friends to play something else (me and my swf can take up to 15 mins to find a match).
So sooner or later bhvr will be forced to make big changes, or the game will hopefully die to VHS.

Because from a technical point of view, as they explained (and it's true), it wouldn't be that easy. Combine it with the spaghetti code DBD is written in and it probably would take ages to find any possible bug
From a players point of view, perk tiers might look as useless to veteran/older players, but to new players it actually gives a feel of progression. Remember when you were new and would unlock a stronger tier, the excitement behind it? Honestly I wouldn't like to remove that from new players.
What they could do is gradually reduce the grind based in playtime, number of characters unlocked, prestige level. Or they could flat out do number changes in blood points.
Yeah, they could do so at prestige 2, all perks spawn at lvl 2 on the bloodweb. And at prestige 3 all perks are already at tier 3.

On the 2nd floor of the main building there are like some bridges made out of branches or something,i swear to god traps there are invisible for survivors. I've never had someone disarm a trap there and they always fall into it.

Alrighty, folks. I've never really properly tried to grind the Rift (the closest was to get 2/3) pieces of the Pink Elephant costum). Anyone got any tips on how to grind it as efficiently as possible to get whatever cosmetics are up for grabs?
Every time I completed the rift with a lot of time left was because I did all the current tome missions, they give plenty of rift fragments
-
Removing that masks literally won't solve a thing. People who used smartface to tunnel and camp black characters will still do it, but now with the default or p3 mask instead. So, the problem is still there.
But I guess BHVR took the easy way of removing the cosmetics entirely instead of... Improving the report system, which would've make the game a safer place to the people they say they're trying to help.
At the end of the day the only affected are normal players. Racists who used the smartface will find another way, but normal people who used smartface or any other mask will now have to p3 or spend money if they want to stand out

I don't think it's unreasonable to disconnect against a character wearing a cosmetic that is an unpleasant reminder of very real and very harmful racism. Even if the LF is just wearing it as a cosmetic and isn't racist, it's still something reminiscent of blackface which I'd imagine is very difficult to see as a black player.
We can disagree on that, then. The moment smartface correlates even slightly to blackface then it would be justified to DC or be toxic against it. But as for now (and for ever, because it was removed) smartface has nothing to do with blackface.
Also, there are many things that could be triggering for people in this game, there are backstories of abuse, assault, murder and other real life, real issues. But it's a horror game after all, I don't think removing everything 0.1% of the community finds wrongfully offensive to be the way to go, but that's just my take on the issue.
-
This is a really dumb take on the issue. Most of the streamers who appear on this video admit that they just inmediatly DC against a smartface bubba without even seeing if he's being "racist". Again, they are DCing against someone wearing a certain cosmetic.
Also, some of them are claiming stream sniping for being black when they don't have their twitch anywhere on their profile, did the killer just assumed they were a POC streamer? Yeah, sure. Seems like a lot of these people need a reality check, its a videogame

OMG a bit of blood and sound where it shouldn’t happen. It doesn’t affect gameplay at all, so again where’s the problem apart from killer ego?
You clearly don't play killer so I'll explain it to you.
If you get validated by DH 2 things can happen:
1) You think that you downed the survivor, you look at the ground for a bit only to realise that the survivor actually has been running away this whole time, giving them a free escape.
Or
2) You enter miss attack cooldown, giving the survivor time to reach another loop.
The 2nd one is the most common, and it wouldnt be a huge issue if it wasnt for the fact that the validation eats a lot of killer powers. Blight used to be able to lunge through a DH, now it hits a ghost stopping you on the spot. Similar with Huntress, Plague, Nemesis at pallets, Demogorgon, Trickster, Twins, etc.
Considering at least 3 survivors run DH in every match, this is a bug that killers suffer every single game. Thats why people complain a lot
-
I only dodge swfs that have 2 or more toolboxes. If i see a group join with 4 flashlights then I'll happily play against them bc i know they'll be trying to save and I'll have more interaction instead of them just rushing gens. I might run an anti map offering, just in case they try to go to RPD or haddonfield
-
That boons are killer sided because they can snuff them in 3 seconds but it takes surv 14 seconds to bless
-
He is in the top 3 worst killers in the game, if not THE worst killer in the game right now (without exaggeration). There's just no reason to play him over huntress, trickster or artist. Hell, even plague has a more powerful and fun ranged attack.
His quickscope was what made him powerful, combined it with his low TR and he was really a threat unless you were paying a lot of attention. All the tweaks he needed was a slight number touch on his ADS in/out, to avoid quickscope situations outside vaults. A small number change in his ADS would've made possible for survivors to go 2-3 times more in a loop around a corner, which would've been enough to move deathslinger down a few tiers. But with his current speed, unless you're playing against a player that only has W on their keyboard you'll be missing many shots. Which wouldn't be a problem if you didn't had to reload every single time.
To put in perspective
- Huntress: 5 shots before reloading, extremely controllable (flicks in case survivors try to dodge), "infinite" range that can go across the map.
- Deathslinger: 1 shot before reloading, once in ADS your sensitivity drops to 0 and a survivor can turn faster than you can move your aim, 15 meters shot max.
That's kinda the simplified version, but I've mained Huntress for years and when Deathslinger was released I started maining him, even though he was always WAY weaker than Huntress he was a lot of fun. Even trickster (which many say he's really bad but I've done pretty good with him at red rank) is stronger.
But consider this, if old deathslinger with quickscope and tiny TR was B-C tier, where would a nerf of the complete of his basekit put him? He's on his special spot below everyone else, the old F for Freddy tier. (F for ######### deathslinger mains I suppose).
They should revert the nerf, I don't think anyone would complain. He was really strong but there are way more stronger killers so why cant he still be strong?

Okay, lemme try this again:
Why can't the devs make the snowman a cosmetic change with no change to the Survivor mechanics?
It would've been more fun if snowman were only cosmetic and survivors could do any action at normal speed (running, vaulting, etc) instead of them acting like shields
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
I thought we already knew that 🧍
Devs havent said anything so it doesnt hurt to have post like this until they finally do something, but i also read people saying coh is ok because you can snuff it
-
Yeah, I don't really mind snowmen but I've already had a few chases where the survivor hops in one and its basically a shield, and hitting them puts you in full cooldown so they have time to reach a safer tile.
The only good aspect they have for the killer side is that some survivors will throw games just to get hit inside a snowmen and get their reward, but this will only last 2-3 days max and once people get all their rewards you'll see everyone stop calling snowmen "fun", because they'll get used as shield to extend chases even longer or to avoid a down, like there aren't many 2nd chance perks already.
Once again devs proving they don't playtest their stuff for #########, hopefully one day they'll get a team of skilled people form both sides before adding stuff to the game
-
Snowmen are gonna be """"fun"""" for a few days until everyone starts playing tryhard again (at high mmr, people are already doing it anyway) and then they are going to be a big problem. Hitting a snowman gives you normal attack cooldown and that's sometimes enough for survivors to reach another safe tile. I was expecting that AT LEAST it would give you the missed attack cooldown, so you can actually have an opportunity to catch the survivor afterwards. Or, give the survivor the hindered effect for a few seconds, that way they can't be used as a shield mid chase.
-
Lol at BHVR events
Survivors: have fun while inside a snowman or use it to tank a hit that puts the killer on cooldown letting you escape
Killers: well... ######### you i guess
This is everything Dead By Daylight needed.. shields lying around for survivors to use, very creative of bhvr

I think everyone knows what I am talking about. I am just curious why is it not fixed yet being the fact that recently there was a bug fix update.
If it wasnt fixed or even mentioned it means that the devs see 6s heals as not broken, that should tell you everything you need to know about how they balance their game

@Mazoobi said:
Despite their potential, boons are a cool and good concept.
They'll hopefully be the call to "shift the survivor meta already" that the community has been asking for. I'm not saying they're perfect because tweaks can definitely be made to move them into a healthier state, but a lot of people overreact once they read what boons can do.
Boons indirectly give the killer more time because that's one (or more) less survivor on a gen which is the primary goal for survivors. Wouldn't you appreciate the extra time that's given to you? Also, I don't necessarily think snuffing out is a huge problem since totems are relatively easy to find even in a chase and only take a second to do so.
I find myself seeing survivors locating totems in the outskirts of the map which encourages them to waste time going to said location. Tweaking the numerical values of some boons such as CoH could help make them be in a healthier state. The time it takes to bless could be increased a bit and perhaps buff perks like Thanataphobia to affect blessing.
They dont give the killer more time, a single CoH will negate any pressure the killer can apply by hitting survivors. Before the patch the best way to make survivors stay out of gens was by injuring them so they had to either find someone or a medkit to heal, or stay injured and be downed quicker next chase.
Now with a boon in game, survivors can take hits at the rate they want cause they just run at the safe spot and are healed in 20s.
No matter from where you look at it, boons are broken just because of how the game is played at high mmr. The only way a boon as poweful as CoH was balanced is if it took 40s to bless, then it would really be a high risk high reward perk (did we forgot this is what hex and boons are supposed to be? Hex clearly are, so why arent boons?)
-
DH is broken now with the validation thing, it takes way less skill to use considering you have waaay more room to use it now, at least before you had to predict a few ms before the killer goes for the hit.
I understand that being exhausted on the ground sucked, but devs didn't "fix" the problem, they just moved it to the killer side. Personally i find current DH in the top 3 best perks alongside iron will and maybe CoH.

CoH negates any pressure killers can apply, DH negates a down, DS negates a hook, Bubba can negate an unhook and the list goes on... Most of DBD's features are made either to screw you or you to screw on others, none of it is player friendly

You can't do crossmap snipes if crows get just sent to the void as soon as there's a 2 inch deviaton in the ground

It probably won't get fixed until Haddonfield gets a rework and who knows how long that will be.

From the award description: "This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the debut of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years"
BHVR has been releasing new content but they tend to forget about some of the old perks or killers (like Myers being outdated) or give unnecessary/overkill nerfs and never touch that killer again (billy, pinhead, slinger...). So personally I wouldnt nominate DBD to any award just yet, maybe if one day they took the time to look at the least used killers instead of pretending they don't exist.
-
Bitter murmur + knock down and go into the middle of the map and try to down people from there without moving, crows only
