I recently surrender playing as killer if gen done that completed very fast, while I'm still chasing survivor. I rather open the gate when all generator completed and ignore all survivor and destroy all pallet and breakable walls , while all survivor press Alt to t bag tbag on the gate.
Since if they have no interaction with killer they will only get a low bloodpoint. Win Win I think.
Gen rushing is a thing but how it affects you can be the problem. A survivor's main goal is to do gens to power the exit gate then leave. If you aren't putting pressure on the gens then you are liable to get gen rushed. Survivors just don't stop what they are doing and run around like morons just to be chased for awhile.

No. It's not. You're acting like the communities DH gripe is some new thing and you said things get nerfed within a patch if killers complain and both ideas are false.
It is your opinion. What I think is a logical sentence others might see me as a troll. Keep your negativity somewhere else if you can't have a reasonable discussion. I am not acting like the DH gripe isn't a new thing. I know it's been a well populated topic for years since they first introduced it. I fully read every patch that comes out with this game in hopes they actually nerf something involving the killer. It almost never happens, instead they get "reworked". Boil Over got a buff because they wanted people to use the perk more.....how long did it take for boil over to get buffed? Before that COH was released. Killers cried their ass off because it was "too strong". How long did that take to get nerfed? A few months maybe? My point has been clear. Unless you can outweigh the differences here to have a pretty solid argument against mine then you must play a different game then I do. Killers get catered to more than survivors. Period

Follow the logic trail buddy. I don't care about Dead hard, but this isn't some new gripe for the community. You just wrote some of the silliest sentences back to back with a straight face. Big yikes.
That's your opinion

It’s so bs that survivors can break our hex’s and make our perks completely unusable, when they can keep using their boon perks all they want and keep blessing it over and over no matter how much it’s snuffed. Why tf do the devs do this when survivors can already heal each other, bring medkits, and find other ones in chests when theirs breaks?? I would like to think even you survivor mains would be smart enough to acknowledge how unfair that is.
If that’s the case then nerfing hex undying is utter bs. On dark maps it’s impossible to not have it spotted as it’s glowing fire. Not to mention that the devs made this game in a way that the hex totems ALWAYS spawn in wayyyyy more obvious places on the maps then the boon totems. It's not 'chance" its deliberate and annoying. Idc what anyone says, it's the truth. Hex undying plus the hex perk already takes up 2 places anyway, tf? Survivors boon perks only take up one spot to be permanent, or have the ability to be of blessed over and over. This game keeps doing nerf after nerf to killers and it’s bs. They nerf our ability to have a 1-hit down AT THE END OF THE GAME FOR F**** sake ! When survivors can run adrenaline which instantly heals a health state at the end of the game , and can’t be turned off. Hex undying was the ONLY thing that protected us killer from j having all of our perks go "bye bye!" ... This bs makes me j want to stop playing the game which is really sad because i’ve been waiting my whole life for a game like DBD cuz i’m such a horror movie fan. Thoughts?
That's your argument for this game being survivor sided? I think you need to sit down and weigh the scales if you think it's survivor sided
-
I don't think meta perks need nerfing, I think the weaker perks need buffing. Give us a reason to use them instead of a meta
-
So I think the best change for Devour Hope is for the totem to not be lit until survivors are exposed. I've had it happen to me and I know it annoys killers to see their DH get destroyed before their first hook. If DH doesn't activate after 4 (?) unhooks then that means the survivors spent most of their time cleansing totems instead of doing gens

I want to preface this by saving I don't use Dead Hard. I'm a pretty consistent Sprint Burst user when I play survivor. When I play Killer, Dead Hard doesn't really bother me.
However, I do have 1 concern with the Dead Hard nerf for developers...
What will the developers be changing about Face-Camping so that survivors have a chance to successfully make saves without Dead Hard?
Currently, the standard way to make a save as a survivor on a Face-Camping killer is to....
- Fake a grab, then take a hit
- Unhook the survivor and allow that survivor to take a BT hit, so they have a Sprint Burst away from the hook
- Finally, the unhooking survivor will Dead Hard away and hope there's a jungle gym nearby.
I could care less about Dead Hard, except for this very specific strategy that survivors have to follow to make a successful hook save from a face-camping survivor.
Will there be significant enough nerfs in face-camping to allow for survivors to make saves against face-campers after the Dead Hard is removed/nerfed?
---
(I guess I have one more concern. How about Nurse and Dead Hard. Dead Hard is currently the only real counter survivors have against Nurse. But still, more important is Dead Hard saves against Face Campers.)
Ok so there is a flaw there in #2. Depending on where the killer is, the swing is gonna miss the unhooked survivor and catch the one thats doing the rescue. So either the killer engages chase with the saved survivor or the killer camps the downed survivor and now we are back to square one.
The best and most effective method I have seen and experienced is when a team comes together and goes in at the same time. The killer needs a distraction or someone takes a hit and moves out of the way while someone else gets the save.

I mean I still get annoyed when I think they don't have it, I swing, and they dodge the hit with Dead Hard.. But it doesn't matter enough to me to call for the perk to be nerfed to the ground. It works as intended.
Right just like with anything like Smash Hit or using a flashlight for a save.

Thank you very much for the discussion. Usually when I find someone who disagrees they go all whiny and get insulting like I don't know what I'm talking about or how to play the game

True, and when I play killer, it's easy to just wait a second or two longer before going for a hit.. Or remembering who used Dead Hard against you in a previous chase and waiting for them to use it again before swinging at them.
Yes that's the smart way of doing it. Baiting the perk.

To be fair, I feel like Dead Hard is fine the way it is now. At least, that's my opinion. (and I don't even use the perk when I play survivor, I don't like it, but I don't mind it as killer either)
Yeah I think it is fine also. As I mentioned before I don't know what else you can do to nerf it before it completely becomes useless or removed from the game. It works as it should. I think Killer mains would be satisfied with being able to still hit the survivor mid dead hard or have it removed...but then again I'm not sure what will satisfy killer mains anymore

What the hell are you on about? Dead hard has been complained about for chapters and chapters and chapters.
WHAT?
Well if you read and comprehended my reply then you would see what "I was on about". Killers cry about every game assisting perk that helps the survivor get a slight advantage then it's quickly nerfed within weeks of release. Again, what can you do more to nerf DH? DH works as it was designed to do no matter how much complaining you do

Are you high? And where can I buy some of what you're having?
More serious answer.. survivor mains always complain about killer stuff being buffed, or their own stuff nerfed.. and the other way around, too.
Lots of undeserved killer nerfs in every patch, but also lots of undeserved survivor nerfs
And lots of deserved ones on both sides, to be honest. Some ######### was busted.
Not really dismissing that killer perks get nerfed also I just haven't seen it. Yes I do see survivors complaining about killer being buffed while survivor perks are getting nerfed.....I do it too. But I do see more survivor perks get nerfed than I do killer perks getting buffed. It happens everytime a new perk gets released and it gets used a lot.
I agree and understand with most of what you are saying but to think the developers quickly hop onto the system to nerf a killer perk just as fast if not faster than a survivor perk means you play a different game or read different patch notes than I do. For example, how long did it take for them to realize that COH was OP and they nerf the fuxk out if to make it almost useless when healing yourself. Also, what was the last killer perk to get a nerf or that much of a nerf?
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/323821/this-right-here-is-exactly-why-i-left-dbd
Sigh.
Hi here again, Mileena.
Let's take a look.
- CoH is still an absolute top tier perk. 'Useless' isn't just hyperbole, it's flat out wrong. It's just not quite as busted as it used to be.
- DS, before the change was ridiculous. It was basically an extra life.
- Dead Hard needs to go. The simple fact that this one perk almost single handedly dictates the meta from intermediate MMRs and up is an indication that it's a problem.
- Plenty of killer perks are getting nerfed too, including most of the better regression perks.
- Hug Tech isn't easy to execute or fix, as it has to do with the inner workings of the physics engine.
- Bleeding out is frustrating, but it will also be fixed in the patch (the game instantly ends once the last survivor is slugged). Plus, this isn't an imbalance as much as a BM.
- Yes, Ring needs a nerf. Patience, young padawan.
- They've already said that they are going to be fixing facecamping. What more do you want?
- NOED is likely getting a nerf in the perk overhaul.
- They are aware of tunnelling feeling nasty to go against, but what do you suggest? Make it so the killer has to hook survivors sequentially? I know that I almost never tunnel on purpose, but far too often I'll just end up finding that one overconfident or caseless survivor multiple times in a row.
- COH is not as top tier as you may think. I barely come across people who use it. Since they nerfed the hell out of it it's no better, in my opinion than bringing self care especially if you are far enough away from the boon.
- I can agree with that. Nothing wrong with the way it is now. I think it should be reworked to prevent tunneling, for example, you should be able to use it after every hook save and make the timer for at least 1 minute but if you fully heal or work on a gen it deactivates like it does now.
- Dead Hard doesn't need to go. I feel like it is needed since the Killer's movement speed is faster than a survivor and there are too many weak loops, pallets and dead zones for you to not bring it. Want to remove DH? Make those weak loops and pallets better and absolutely no dead zones. Or maybe add an evade action to the base kit?
- I haven't seen an update since basically Ruin that a killer perk was nerfed. I could be wrong. Every update I see has made a killer faster or able to get their power back quickly or increased the speed in which they use their power (Ghost Face).
- Hug Tech may not be easy for some. Nothing wrong with Hug Tech. It's a basically fundamental in the game like camping or tunneling.
- Nothing to say about this one
- Onryo could use a nerf I guess. She shouldn't be able to come out of the TV and have the speed of The Flash. The same goes for Wraith which I think should be nerfed too since his movement speed while cloaked is super fast.
- I think what more we want out of fixing facecamping is the developers actually talk about it
- Honestly I think, as a survivor main, that NOED is fine the way it is. It's a sweaty, last resort perk that increases movement speed and adds the exposed status effect. It does it job just like Dead Hard.
- I think making the killer hook survivors sequentially could ruin the game for killers, since like you said, you find the same survivor multiple times lol. I'm not really sure what they can do for tunneling besides putting borrowed time and decisive strike into the base kit of every survivor

People will find ANYTHING to complain about on the survivor’s side. The killers cried until COH became useless despite the perk going threw a few changes already, DS got a hard nerf thanks to killer main complaints, and now Dead Hard is probably next on the chopping block. But wait… How can the same people complaining about all of these Single perks fail to realize the killer side has things that are probably far worse that haven’t been fixed even though they’ve been BIG issues?
HUG TECH
SLUGGING UNTIL BLEED OUT
ALCHEMIST RING
BUBBA FACECAMPING
NOED
TUNNELING
These are just a few I named that have been a big issue and it feels like the devs haven’t even put in an effort to address these problems.
I really just can't think of how you can nerf DH anymore. It works as it should and sometimes it really doesn't. It all comes down to timing with DH.
What I hate about this game is that you get enough Killers to complain about something and it's nerfed within the next patch. If survivors complain about something being overpowered then it's completely overlooked. That's why we have to faith in BHVR to commit to their word about making this game more fun and enjoyable because they only cater to Killers

I hope not.
The Mori should be a choice as it is now when you down someone. What if you need to complete a hook challenge? I've always believed that the Mori system should be earned.
-
@Leon_Loves_Cheryl said:

So, I HAVE to bully the final survivor? I can't let her go?
Sure you can say "well, just don't down them" but I want to establish my dominance before I let her free. I don't want this change.
This removes options from the killer. I want to down the final survivor and then let them go.
I don't think I'm the only one here who is against a change that encourages mercilessly slaughtering everyone. We all need to inject more friendliness into this game, and I feel like this change is directly taking friendliness and joviality away.
I think, just like with the Mori offering, there should be a choice. Maybe you want to hook the survivor instead to get a challenge done? I don't think the Devs have thought about that

They need to touch both.
If you only nerf the meta and all perks just suck, that's bad.
If you only buff weak perks, for the most part they still won't compete with the existing meta unless they are buffed to a point of being too strong or abusable. This is what happened with boil over and COH, and both had to be nerfed.
I disagree. Some meta perks work as they were designed to do like Dead Hard or Borrowed Time for example. What else can they do to nerf Dead Hard that wouldn't make it unusable. How about buffing or reworking Spring Burst to make it to where you need to press the action button to use it and slow the speed down or how long you can use it so it can be an alternative to Dead Hard.
-
Meta perks don't need to be touched. The weaker perks need to be buffed or work better to coincide with other perks

But again; it was years ago and I can't remember where I heard it.
I really hope not! lol

I feel like this happens more than often. You go to leave the gen for whatever reason and a skill check pops up and you miss it. It's like the game knows before you let go

Yes. Tunneling and camping shows you have no skill or the courage to chase another survivor. It is a desperate attempt to secure a kill and turn the game into your favor. You wanna be a skilled killer? Go find another survivor to chase

really wondering what these devs are up to, nerfing b tier killers. meanwhile, gens can be all done and a gate open in like four minutes, but they don't touch that. It just forces killers to have to bring some kind of slowdown, which there are only about two that are good for it, resulting still in the same, basic, bland builds everyone uses. still though, what is the deal with nerfing b tier killers? Why not buff the c and lower tier killers
Agree to disagree. I do believe survivors have enough on their plate to get things done and get out. I think it varies player to player. As a killer I want to give survivors more objectives to do to deter them away from generators

You all have great comments. I don't normally tea bag but I feel it's necessary if you escape from a toxic killer. As far as the clicking, I tend to use it as "hey I want you to chase me instead". I never intend to be toxic about it.
I want to start seeing both sides have fun and create a sense of challenge. Camping and tunneling from a killer is just awful and ruins the experience of the game. I want to go in, cleanse totems, do gens, gain experience in looping killers all while having fun trying to stay alive and help my team.
If a Bubba needs to basement camp, maybe say something in the chat or message the survivors (if you're console). Or you could indicate that you would like to get a challenge done, have the survivors do their objectives then help the killers get theirs. It's always fun to come across a farming killer. You don't see many of them nowadays with this new MMR. Seems like the toxicity has skyrocketed and the killers are racing to the top ranks.
Hopefully we can have more posts and discussions like this and lower the toxic behavior of this community. Let's make Dead by Daylight fun again

Woof.
Okay, going point by point:
- Wraith was 'B' tier before his nerf. Now he is hot garbage.
- Freddy's lunge is the same as any other killer. He's smaller, so it looks longer.
- Ghostface can be revealed. What?
- Are you really complaining about Myers?
- That's Billy, not Bubba. Just dodge him.
- Clown is one of the weakest killers in the game. As is Trickster.
- Hag is strong, but vulnerable to healing. Figure out her zone, when she hits you just run away and heal. If you keep running through her 'zone', you are going to struggle. She's also vanishingly rare - you are unlikely to see her until you start playing at a very high MMR and even then, you'll find maybe one or two in a 'season'. I've literally only ever gone up against her once, and we crushed her.
- Cenobite is the furthest thing from OP.
- BHVR have already said that they are adding a feature to discourage facecamping. Proxy camping, tunneling and the like are how the game is meant to be played.
- This game is absolutely not killer sided.
Look, OP. It sounds like you had a few bad games. But these are all issues that, with a bit of experience, will mostly vanish. Rather focusing on 'the entire roster of killers is OP because they can actually kill survivors when played right', focus on what you can do to play better.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653707#Comment_2653707
Sure.
Cenobite, Wraith and Slinger were solidly 'B' tier, but got nerfed to the ground within months.
Stuff like OoO and DS took years to get minor nerfs.
There are still actual infinites in the game. These have never been fixed.
More than half the maps are moderately to strongly survivor favored.
Dead Hard was a strong perk, but got 'fixed' (see: buffed) and now is overwhelmingly strong.
Killers that do well at the low end are nerfed with no regard for their performance at intermediate/high MMR, but killers that struggle at the low end don't get buffs.
There are still tons of bugs that make life hard for killer, but will likely never be fixed (validation bugs, survivors can't be picked up in certain places, killer powers/addons not working correctly etc.)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653720#Comment_2653720
Every time someone complains that BHVR are 'killer sided' and then post-hoc claiming that they play a lot of killer, I always imagine Elmer Fudd in a bunny costume.
So no points here seem valid. I'll discuss one by one.
Wraith is not hot garbage. Cloak is harder to see since the buff. Anyone who is anyone that knows how to use him you can body block windows and pallets, uncloak then gain a short burst of speed on top of lunging which can cover a lot of distance.
It may be Freddy's appearance that makes it seems like he lunges far. I give ya'll that but to my experience it appears that he covers a lot of distance with his lunge.
I've stared at Ghostface point blank. Camera and character and not been able to reveal him. He's broken.
Yes I'm complaining about Myers. How should he be able to stalk someone at great distance but Ghostface can't? You can stalk someone damn near half the map and that stalk fills up quick.
Not Billy. Bubba. Bubba has chainsaw charges. He can use all charges to dash forward which can cover great distance. His charges should be swings, not lunges. If not looped well you have no chance. Good luck "dodging".
The Clown may be one of the weakest but thats not saying much. His gas is intense if used right and he can throw multiple ones at a survivor and greatly have the upper hand. That's why I think the amount of bottles should be reduce so he can't spam them as much.
The hag's traps are weird. You should only have to step on them. I've been 10 feet away (not exaggerating) and have triggered her traps.
How is the Cenobite not OP? His chains are too much. Calm them down a bit.
Whether you think tunneling and camping is how the game should be played is not wrong or right. Playing Killer (and survivor) should be fun and challenging not only for the killer but also for survivors. It's extremely frustrating to be chased immediately off hooked or see that the killer is too afraid to leave the hook because they "want to secure that kill"
Validation bugs work both sides. Since the ping is based off of the killer's connection I've seen hits connect when the killer is nowhere in range or facing the other way.
I don't claim I play a lot of killer. There has been times that I've played killer and I've had so much upper hand just by mechanics alone and there were times I was at a disadvantage due to the MMR. I believe the survivors have to work much harder to get the win than the killer does. Thats one of the reasons why I think it's killer sided.

If you're getting that angry at playing survivor, I'd honestly recommend trying out killer for a while and seeing the other side. I still think it's easier to win at, at least at lower levels, but it's by no means a cakewalk, and if getting baited by survivors while trying to play a decent game doesn't make you feel like they deserve a hook you'd certainly have a better temper than I.
I play killer all the time and still have the same outlook
