Which console, if you don't mind me asking.

I played a fair bit on PlayStation before moving to PC, and I've literally never seen this.

    Xbox

Please just stop those comments about the lunge. It hurt my eyes to read them

His lunge is the exact same as every killer's. The devs have said it themselves.

It is his shorter character model that makes it look a bit weird.

It may be so but it gives off the appearance that he lunges far

The lunge is the same as other killers. There is a video analysis on YouTube proving it so. His dream snares and pallets aren't all that powerful, but they can catch survivors off guard. That does not take away from the fact that those powers are boring and uninspired. Og Freddy power with some tweaks would be preferred personally.

You say they aren't all that powerful but they are effective nonetheless. I play on console and not from what I've seen about his lunge being the same as any other killer. I watch him lunge far and it appears that he lunges farther than let's say Pyramid Head does. I do agree that the previous Freddy was better and more like to the movie character

  • Freddy is one of the most overpowered killers. Has the ability to teleport to gens, place fake pallets and place blood pools to slow down looping. Also his lunge is super op. I've seen his lunge reach where others can't. Obviously you are playing against baby killers

    Yeah that's totally it.

Crawl back in your hole survivor main

Was that supposed to be an insult?

  • So what about when survivors actually get a decent killer that puts pressure on gens or has hooked everyone at least once and not a single gen has been done? You have plenty of perks out there to control gen progression. Use them and change your tactics. Obviously they aren't working out for you

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Dead hard is fine, the people complaining about it are just not comprehending that the issue is the game design as a whole. It is literally the only second chance that survivors have control over which is why it feels so powerful when used properly.

I agree 100% if you use dead hard improperly you end up hitting a wall or it only buys you 2 more seconds

Lol your entire argument is based on "earning" the kills. Like I said. Arbitrary rule. Win, win by a lot, win by a little. Winnings winning.

"Tunneling isn't smart its toxic." Ask every single good killer main you know the single best way overall to win. Tunnel out the weak. EVERY single good killer with macro game sense will realize by their first couple chases who their main target will be, who they shouldn't chase, and who is in the middle. You may not like it, but its true. Deal with it sadly mate. Thats how the game is. If you KNOW someone doesnt have DS, and they were unhooked close to you and the chase is free, you take it. Thats a massive mistake by the survivors that can cost them the game.

"Makes you look weak, like you're afraid to chase someone else." Um...yeah? You don't chase good survivors when bad ones are right there. If you think choosing to chase the survivor that is a weak looper and thus getting you a down in 20 seconds, makes you "look weak" as opposed to chasing the 5k hour survivor with stretched res and great looping ability, and getting a down in 3 minutes, then you're BAD at the game, not a strong killer. You may inflate your sense of self honor, great, good job, you lost the game but you lost with your honor intact rofl. If you aren't playing Nurse or Spirit, even mid tier survivors with decent map knowledge can run every killer in the game for an entire gen of progress. Which with 3 survivors, means 3 gens.

"Survivors have too many objectives to worry about than a camping and tunneling killer" Heckin what? Thats the almost ENTIRE argument about the imbalance of this game, they DON'T have too many objectives they have far too little. 5 survivors, assuming not being harassed and some optimal play. Can FINISH all 5 gens, and open the exit gates, in two and a half minutes. They can literally complete the game and win in two and a half minutes. My personal fastest game in a full swf with sweaty tryhards was 4 minutes and 49 seconds. BEST CASE scenario for a Plague (which is the killer in question) in that situation is to down a weak link survivor within the first 80 seconds. There was no weak link

Your entire post is null anyways considering you base your entire argument on the fact that in your eyes the killer must "earn" there kills. Which literally goes RIGHT into what I said about this community making up arbitrary rules they must themselves follow. You may not like it, thats fine. But playing, in this communities eyes, as "scummy" or "toxic" is quite often the best way to actually play. Like it or not, tunneling a weak survivor out the game who makes lots of mistakes is almost 100% of the time correct. Sacrificing 3 gens to knock a survivor out of the game basically removes the survivors ability to win, many factors are still open though obviously.

You say "good killer" but I disagree. A good killer doesn't need to resort to a noob tactic to tunnel out the weak.

"Makes you look weak, like you're afraid to chase someone else." Um...yeah? You don't chase good survivors when bad ones are right there." I consider myself a good killer. I don't target weak or strong survivors. When I approach a gen with 2 or more people on it, it's random. Whoever is close and I get the hit. If I do end up chasing a good survivor I don't break off like a pussy, I chase them. I try to earn that sacrifice. Challenges are what makes you a better killer/survivor. You tunnel a weak survivor to make it easier on yourself and that's weak. Just like life. Keep taking the easy way out and you get nowhere. Challenge yourself and learn from mistakes and you become better. To think to yourself every time you drop into a game that you must tunnel and camp hooks to get your sacrifices is a bad way too play and ruins the experience and you will never become a good, smart killer if you continue taking the easy way.

" You may inflate your sense of self honor, great, good job, you lost the game but you lost with your honor intact rofl". Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard but ok. I lose the game, so what? Just like a survivor I go in and do the best I can win or lose. Tunneling and camping for a win to the higher ranks sounds absolutely dumb and should backfire when you actually start getting paired against at least 3 survivors who belong in the high ranks. That's like sucking your way up to the top at work but you lack experience to handle the job.

The nurse and spirit are not that OP especially with Pinhead in the picture. Freddy has a terrible lunge, Pinhead can slow down a survivor in more ways than one, The Trickster's knives are too much especially when it only takes 6 to down a survivor and they are ridiculously fast. I could sit here all day and tell you (and explain) who is more OP than those two.

I'll break down the objectives that survivors have to make it out alive. Generators (main objective) but what could slow that down? Hex Totems. Another objective. If you don't cleanse totems, ruin and undying (for example since those are the most used) remains active and could spell trouble if you get chased off a gen. Again if you don't cleanse totems you run into NOED. Now you have a serious problem on your hands. A survivor cleansing totems slows the generator process down especially when someone is being chased by the killer which brings me to the next objective. Looping a killer. One person being chased by a killer also slows down the process. Sometimes you have a survivor that just runs around the map like an idiot while you're being chased which leads to only two people on a generator. But what happens if the survivor gets downed by the killer? You guessed it right. Rescue the survivor. In a solo match or you drop into a game with only 1 friend, who's doing the rescue? You? Your friend? Or the random survivor? Now you need to communicate on who's going for the rescue. The hook survivor may not have kindred on so you need to see who is going before you decide to jump off the generator, with possible an active ruin, and save the person on the hook. But now we have another problem. What if the killer is proxy camping? now you need to take time and decide your next move to get to that survivor and get out of there. Ok so what if the killer left and it's safe? Well the killer has BBQ and now has moved on to the next survivor who has been chased off a gen. Now you must unhook, possible heal then get back on a generator before you lose progress. Oh no, here comes another objective. A killer's belongings. You are facing a pinhead so now someone needs to stop what they are doing to solve the box before the annoying chains come out. Or it's a pig. Now you've got a trap on your head in which now you are more likely to die because no one cares about that trap and they just finish the gens so you're stuck running around trying to get the damn thing off your head. Have I made my point yet or should I keep going?

The killer has a few objectives. Slow down the gens, chase and sacrifice then survivors, give something survivors to do to keep them off gens. yes there are bumps along the way such as good looping spots, pallets, windows, flashlights, firecrackers, basically anything a survivor has to stun or flash to get away or waste your time but you can move faster, trap survivors, lunge or long range attacks multiple times, break down doors and pallets to make a loop unsafe. It's so much easier for a killer to add pressure than it is for a survivor to put pressure on a killer.

My post is null? Why, because you say so? Because you don't agree? You may not like it, that's fine. A survivor has to earn the win just as much as the killer "should" earn their win. How can you consider playing scummy and toxic the best way to play? That's completely stupid. You know who plays like that? Trash killers with no skill. There is no argument about it. Camping and tunneling requires no skill. I can chase a survivor down, hook them and just sit there or proxy around the map so no one gets close. Easy! You know cries that survivors have the advantage? Killers with no skill. You know why survivors complain about killers camping and tunneling? BECAUSE IT REQUIRES NO SKILL.

Wait, two and half minutes to complete a game? It takes half of that for two survivors to complete one gen. That makes no sense.

I used to make fun of people saying Wraith is strong now since he was a bit of a joke months ago even with the silent bell meta but after finally coming back to playing him and experiencing the Buff.

Holy crap Wraith is so good. The movement speed buff and 20 meter invisibility? Yikes I thought I was blind AF whenever a wraith gets too close to me as a survivor before I get to react. The invisible property explains everything.

The fact that you're basically a race car that's invisible while the game is so much clearer with the graphical update - you have a bird's eye view of everything. Don't even bother going stealth with your blendette. The cloaking and uncloaking is so much smoother now which is great too. People are putting wraith so low in their killer tier list is so bizzare to me. Admittedly he can be looped but as long as the Wraith enforces his guerilla tactics of doing hit and run without overcommitting and until you catch someone on their weakest state then he's really strong. This wasn't a problem before but the invisibility buff is what makes everything fall into place, Survivor don't know whether a Wraith changed target until he's near your position.

Solid B tier base kit and A tier with add ons.

Wraith needs another rework. It's not fair for the wraith to be as fast as he is then get a speed boost when he uncloaks. People abuse the hell out of that which makes him no fun to play against

  • I feel like now Killers are more likely to camp and tunnel to get to those high ranks. It's like a race to get there. No one wants to actually play the game and create a challenge anymore

These past few days I've been robbed way too many ######### hits lunging when a survivor miscalculates a pallet drop, so why should I be punished? Isn't it as easy as encouraging sooner drops instead of making the pallet hit always the priority?

It happens literally every single match for me no matter if I use m1, chainsaw or whatever, the worst part is that I can still hear the injuring sound so clearly the game knows that I've hit the survivor in my screen.

I know this thing was implemented in the recent patch, but why should the game always favor the survivor when they are in control of this IF they drop sooner? I know you can't always drop sooner in cases like if the killer is right behind your back, but honestly this feature seems like going a bit too far imo.

This alone is already a big issue by itself for me, but on top of this pinhead is bugged, freddy is bugged, hit detection is messed as ######### (just like always anyway, im tired of hitting someone with a huntress haatchet and hearing the splash sound only to not deal any damage at all).

What's going on here? I main killer but even when I play survivor for the whole night with my friends i never feel as robbed as when im playing killer

What the F is going on with the delay and small window to drop the pallet? Seems like I have to be in the perfect spot to drop the pallet or I'm gonna miss it and when I do get it there is a slight delay

  • Pinhead isn't overpowered. His chains are. Overpowered and annoying. By far the most annoying killer in the game barely beating trickster

  • @Impose said:

Ask yourself this. Why is it bad behavior? Is it not your job as a killer to kill the survivors? Why is proxy camping a "bad" thing to do? Simply because it causes survivors to not have fun?

These ridiculous arbitrary rules this community has put on itself is as much a problem with the game as the devs that keep screwing it up.

Stop thinking that tunneling is toxic, its not, its smart. Tunneling a weak link out of the game is one of the best ways to bring the balance back killer sided. Proxy camping is one of the absolute best ways to continue macro pressure. You don't need to tunnel someone off the hook, but you can chase the rescuer. Now you KNOW you have one person injured who isn't doing gens, and you're chasing someone else. You have 50% of the survivor workforce off their objectives.

Killer is literally standing next to the hooked survivor and not letting anyone near? Well that sucks, but the killer now loses. 3 survivors do 5 gens by the time a survivor goes from 1st hook to dead, assuming survivor doesn't miss skill checks.

I'm going to explain each statement if someone hasn't already.

It is a Killer's job to prevent the generators from being completed and to feed the survivors to the entity. The killer needs to earn those kills and the win. Camping and tunneling survivors is not earning, it's a desperate attempt to win the trial and makes the player look pathetic.

Tunneling is toxic. Definitely not smart. Tunneling someone off the hook makes you look desperate, pathetic and unskilled. Tunneling a weak link makes you look weak yourself like you're too afraid to let that survivor go and chase someone else. Proxy camping is stupid. Again makes you look desperate to get the sacrifice and at the same time the other survivors are completing the gens while you waste your own time. Best tactic for a killer, don't waste your own time and add tactical pressure to keep the gens from being completed. I agree when you say "You don't need to tunnel someone off the hook, but you can chase the rescuer." That's good tactics. Someone is running around injured searching to be healed, not doing gens (or maybe doing gens with Resilience). I also agree with that last paragraph about the killer wasting time focusing on that single survivor on the hook while others are doing gens as I explained earlier.

Toxicity needs to end on both sides. Survivors have too many objectives to worry about than a camping and tunneling killer. If a killer is that worried about losing, than give the survivors something to do like The Pig or The Plague (if you like to cleanse). From my perspective the killer has two objectives. Feed the entity and prevent gens from being done. Survivors have to worry about gens, totems, hook saves, healing, cleansing, being chased, solving the cube, getting a trap off their head, etc. (just a few examples).

My suggestion is we all need to play to earn the win and have a good time, not use cheap tactics and be toxic to one another. That also goes for survivor on survivor crimes such as hook farming and body blocking.

  • DC is an issue, yes. Once a survivor DCs it makes the game 25% harder. Then again once I see it is Pinhead I want to DC or die on hook. Pinhead is more annoying than The Trickster. Another issue that needs to be dressed is Camping and Tunneling. I've seen survivors DC because the killer tunneled them off the hook. Killers need to grow a set and earn their hook kills

  • @Zaytex said:

It is a double standard that's quite rampant in the community and an entitlement that needs to stop.

Survivors can do anything they want, gameplay wise or fun wise, but as a Killer, you're not allowed to tunnel, slug, camp, bring certain killers, etc.

It's why I always play to win, which means tunnelling, camping, or slugging unless the survivors are performing poorly or are playing nice so the 10-12 hooks is a realistic option given to me.

If the survivors rush generators, then the killer has every right to rush kills.

Survivors do whatever they want? What do survivors do that is the equivalent to a killer camping or tunneling?

  • Some of you are what's wrong with community. We are all here for the same reasons. Killers and Survivors. We are here to have a good time, make the game challenging for the other side, and give feedback, whether positive or negative, to the developers so they can bring more balance in future updates.

I laugh when people come into a thread and start attack or just being plain toxic. Don't bring your negativity, bring constructive criticism or great counter arguments. That's what this is all about

  • @killz4fun said:

I see a lot of complaining for NOED, tunneling, and other killer perk/actions that actually help the killer to achieve their goal..

So, from the killers perspective what are those things that survivors do that you just wish they stop doing?

In my case I dislike loopers a lot.. they just want to waste your time as a distraction which helps their team but is boring for the killer..

What about those survivors that will taunt you into following them..

I just made peace on the fact that I will eventually face toxic players and I will behave toxic too and just enjoy the game..

Toxic works both sides. Looping is part of the game. Tunneling is not. My only issue is tunneling and camping. Makes a killer look pathetic and desperate for the sacrifice. It's a cat and mouse game. I hate it when people go in for the save only for the killer to turn around and chase the survivor that was just on the hook.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

This isn’t a “bBq OP!!” post. I’d like to simply share some thoughts on the many things about BBQ that irritate me.

Let’s not pretend that BBQ is only as popular as it is for the bonus BP. Sure, I stand by the notion that it’s healthy for killer perks to have incentives that encourage the killer to NOT camp a hook, but I really, REALLY wish it provided something OTHER than revealing survivor auras.

    • It feels like OTHER survivors are being punished for someone ELSE losing a chase.
    • It’s sometimes simply not possible to reach a locker in time before a hook occurs.
    • It’s sometimes not possible to angle oneself behind a gen in a way that perfectly hides an aura.
    • The “change direction after 4 seconds” strategy is bollocks. There are many times a hook can occur that leaves little time to try and throw the killer off because the area I’m in has few LoS blockers, and I can’t get out of sight without leaving obvious scratch marks.
    • Oh and please don’t pretend you’re so godly at survivor that it doesn’t matter where you are when BBQ reveals you, and if the killer goes for you that you can just ALWAYS be in an optimal position AND always outrun the killer and avoid being hit.
    • It’s really crappy when the killer also runs Iron Maiden. Especially with its recent buff.
    • It’s really crappy trying to run towards the the killer to attempt to get within the 40m blind spot, only to be caught out because you’re just ever so slightly in BBQ’s active range, thus the first survivor the killer goes for.

Give the killer a location notification. Or Haste when outside of a certain range of the hook until a survivor is unhooked. Something, anything other than the aura revealing.

It's funny you mention something about hooks. In one of my post I complain about the number of hooks and the distance. I believe there is no fighting chance for the survivor when they are on the killers shoulder

  • @golubushka08 said:

I see many killers who play very poorly, that use NOED just to destroy all the effort of survivors at the endgame. THIS PERKS REWARDS KILLERS FOR DOING NOTHING! Nerf NOED and make it activate if there are made at least 4 hooked survivors in the game (different survivors). This perk is too OP and used by many killers who don't deserve the gain from this perk. Many killers just don't do anything till the all gens are done. It happened to me in a lot of games.

I would say 7/10 I see NOED when someone uses insidious and camps hooks. I think it's the killers who are toxic, not the perk.

  • @Venusa said:

NOED is one of the unhealthiest perks in the game. I'm having a really hard time understanding some people's arguments against it.

"Just cleanse totems" --> You all know for sure that it is highly unrealistic to expect all 5 totems to be cleansed without dedicating your entire build and time into it. Sometimes you can't find each of them on some maps and sometimes you'll go out of your way to do 4 but the last one will STILL trigger NOED. You literally have to ignore your main objectives, gens, helping other survivors and run around the entire map taking your time cleansing all 5 totems. Well you probably won't even reach the endgame if you play like that. Also, cleansing dull totems doesn't reward you in anyway expect for BPs and a potential NOED.

"NOED isn’t even a good perk" --> Just because you don't come across NOED as a rank 1 player (red ranks), doesn't mean it isn't used widely by all killers in purple and green ranks. Just because you know how to counter NOED doesn't mean the killers aren't rewarded free kills on lower ranks. Sometimes survivors don't know what to do and that they can go down with an easy basic attack. Some of y'all need to think outside of the red rank bubble. NOED is super common on lower ranks, you basically assume the killer has it.

"NOED is inconsistent" --> Never have I ever been a part of a game where NOED didn't trigger and reward the killer at least 1k. I only play solo and expecting all other survivors to find and cleanse each totem is unrealistic. It's just so unfair that you have to go through the whole game and all your efforts to escaping is thrown away by A PERK.

I am trying to be objective here. Before you assume: I play both survivor and killer equally. I see problem perks for both sides. But NOED is the CHEAPEST out of them all. For example: even though functionally similar, I don't mind Devour Hope AT ALL! Because the killer actually EARNED that power and had to progress in the game. It actually adds some excitement into the game to see everyone trying their best to find and get rid of the Devour Hope totem. It's very powerful but still fair. Meanwhile NOED is like: "here get these free kills because you reached... the endgame...?" It's just extremely unhealthy... It's a widely known stereotype that you expect the killer to have NOED if they are doing badly during game... Isn't that enough by itself to show what a joke of a perk it is...

I agree with all of this except that it's unhealthy. I do believe in the unrealistic expectations of other survivors. I play with 3 others and 2 of us have detective's hunch and inner strength to crush those totems.

I think NOED is fine. It does it's job. Plenty of counters.

You can explain yourself all day about how much you play killer but the truth is these killer mains are going to argue with you anyway

Not really,.in fact there's probably a lot more posts about nerfing killers/ killer perks (noed, undying (used to be) ) than there is nerf survivor perks, more nerf keys than before, sure, but no where near as much as nerf freddy, spirit, nurse and deathslinger posts are out there.

Survivor mains always cry about how killers are op, but have never looked at the world from their perspective. I've played both survivor and killer equally, so it isnt a bias thing. Killers aren't op, unless your underleveled, and low rank. Because killer is underpowered in high purple/red ranks, or have you forgotten that for your narrative.

Also I think you mean gen slowdown perks, not gen rushing perks.

Do you know the time that most gens get done in a red rank dbd- 4-5 mins and all gens are done. That's not even swf or an optimal team, that's them just playing. I've played 3 min games, so I'll tell you now, it's underwhelming as killers unless I sweat and play nurse/ deathslinger/ hag. I prefer playing huntress but I can't at these ranks because otherwise I'm just forfeiting the game (unless I go iri head, which I hate doing because it feels scummy).

Killer isn't op unless you are bad, because most killers can only capitalise on your mistakes rather than make actual plays.

So bottom line, anyone with any experience in red ranks as killer will tell you your wrong.

Typical response from a killer that probably doesn't get a lot of sacrifices. How do you explain these killers being super fast? How do you explain these killers being able to lunge from far away? Bottom line Killers are OP

Killers complain about survivors using their gen rushing perks or stealth perks. Killers complain about survivors more than the other way around. Killer mains always cry about how survivors are OP but have never looked at the world from a survivors perspective. I am a survivor main and I also play killer for fun and bloodpoints. Killers are OP. Bottom Line.

Just to add on. Keep practicing looping and you won't need tall grass. Yes tall grass is good for hiding but there are pallets and windows and lockers, killers break pallets, vault windows really slow (unless the have fire up or brutal strength). The devs are trying to make the game overall even. The only problem I'll have is pallet and window placement other than that I'm happy.

Hiding is part of the game. You can only loop a decent killer for so long.

This seems like a bait post.

    How so?

  • Yet another change to this map. They lightened the map up so the Killer can see everyone.

Learn to loop and stop hiding

Hard to loop when the killer is faster than you and doesn't give up

...Most killers aren't overpowered. In fact, they've only occasionally been the power role of DbD since the game came out. Sure there's ones that aren't very fun to play against, but a good survivor team can beat nearly anything killer throws at them (besides Nurse).

Skill checks aren't hard, and would make things like totems and chests more interactive for survivors. Sorry if you find purely holding M1 for 15 seconds just so exhilarating.

Cleansing/searching a chest isn't the same as repairing a generator or healing. You need to repair and you need to heal.

there are no auras which means you can't see a completed generator, an injured survivor (empathy), survivors that are close to you (bond), totems (small game) or the location if an exit gate

I don't think you know how auras work? +You already said no perks.

This can force the killer to guess which generator is being worked on and pay more attention to the lights to see which ones are close to being done

? Do you also mean to remove the natural auras for killer?

which of their hexed totem, along with the location, was cleansed

Again, no perks? Or was that only for survivor?

This will also force survivors to communicate on which generator is getting done

So is this mode SWF only?

I do know how auras work. I do mean natural auras and I do mean removing everything for both survivors and killers. When a totem is cleansed or when a survivor screams it shows a pop up or whatever you want to call it, I was talking about that also. It can be SWF and playing as a killer depending on the developers.

  • Yeah that is what they call a tactical disconnect. What you are suppose to do is work together to escape. If you wanted your friend to escape then you should intercept the chase then lure the killer away while she runs to the hatch. Disconnecting leads to a ban and loss of bloodpoints so why do it?

  • Love the drawing lol. If this isn't a full blueprint of the killer then it's definitely a good base for the developers to work on.

  • Wasn't the first tease about a new killer linked to the lore of Wolfman?
