  • The nectar vial looks alright and the blinking eye on the Auric Sight charm is creepy the first few times, but my favorite is easily the LÄMP.

It's a reminder of one the last real events we've ever had, it looks neat hanging from a hook, and it's memey.

Every other final charm is meh IMO.

  • The tank top and denim skirt. I just like the look of that outfit better.

    That said, why not both?

  • It may be the black sheep of Team Silent's works, but I have a soft spot for Silent Hill 4: The Room.

I'd rather we get Harry Mason tbh, but if we have to get another gal I'd like Eileen.

Especially if she remembers to bring her submachine gun with her. /s

Ok. I got used to 3 and 2vs1 matches when people were crashing on a loading screen and it took BHVR 200 decades to fix

Not gonna lie, as Survivor I kinda miss having those instead of just being kicked back to the main menu for another 5-15 minutes.

I still remember one game where me and a Rank 10 Bill won a 2v1 against a Leatherface. Good times.

Of course as Killer it was boring as heck farming every other game.

    -

As for hook suiciding OP; have fun.

  • He's a fun Killer without mobility or an instadown that has some cool gimmicks (free Mori and ability to deny unhook perks).

He's not bad by any means, but he's not usually going to win against skilled people who just split up and do gens.

IMO he's basically the same as Deathslinger; M1 Killer with strong chase power.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/162714/gen-times-need-to-be-increased

Imo gen speeds are't the problem! I believe the problem lies within

    1. Lack of viability and mobility in killers
    2. Map Sizes
    3. Lack of objectives for survivors

1 of these 3 things needs to be addressed and I would rather much it be number 3 because all of these have huge advantages it would give killers. Addressing number 1 could make killer's OP, address number 2 could make S and A tier killer's too powerful, and addressing number 3 could screw over solo survivor's. Imo I think BHVR should have stuck with their idea of bringing solo survivor to the strength of swf and than went from their.

    This.

Making gens just take longer is a band aid for Killers that'd only make the game more tedious for Survivors and difficult for Solo Survivors. They already spend most of their time holding M1 and tapping Spacebar.

There's no real fix besides bringing Solos and SWFs to an even field and then changing Killers to match them or completely redesigning the entire Survivor objective. Unfortunately I don't see either happening.

  • I hate to say it, but I agree.

His M2 attack is really clunky and stiff; possibly intentionally to counter how strong it is (better than Deathslinger IMO, and *his* chase power is all he has).

His Torment Trails don't work too well at zoning outside of chase if the Survivors know they can safely crouch over it.

It's fairly obvious the best use of Torment is just to save for the Mori (or counter DS if the Survivor doesn't know to locker tech).

You have no control of where Cages appear and Torment is removed for both the rescuer and the rescuee. There's no way to know if using a Cage will give you the same pressure as a hook or just let someone immediately save and coop on a gen while you try to establish another chase.

    And his add-ons.

    Oh boy, his add-ons.

Hemorrhage and Blindness inducing add-ons are not Very Rare add-ons. Hemorrhage is brown at best and Blindness is straight up worthless outside of slug builds - which have like 5000 counters nowadays.

15 seconds of Oblivious is also pointless when it triggers through a chase interaction. The Survivor isn't liable to lose you suddenly just because they have Oblivious; and 15 seconds isn't enough time to break chase and return for a surprise hit against most people on most maps.

Obsidian Goblet is also pretty bad because it doesn't persist after leaving the trail. Unless you're on an indoor map (and then if there's a hook or gen in your vicinity, you lose your Undetectable trail) or camping it's not gonna help. It'd be an okay Very Rare but it's a garbage Ultra Rare.

His other Ultra Rare is good, but it relies on caging which is still only a good idea when circumstances outside you control favor you. And there's also the fact that caging lets 2 people remove Torment.

The Killer Instinct add-ons are bad too; stacking both nets one and a half more seconds of Killer Instinct. If you miss the first 3 seconds, that extra 1.5 probably isn't going to help.

Every other add-on is ok; but derivative and dull. Slight increases to duration, recharge time, and etc. can be helpful of course, but they're not exactly interesting or powerful. I mean, Trails that last 30 seconds longer or 1.5 more meters of his ranged attack aren't usually going to change the outcome of the game.

Maybe it's just me, but with how many things Pyramid Head has going on in his kit I'd hoped for more interesting add-ons: something that changes the effect of thebcages or more for his ranged attack besides three that increases it's length by varying amounts.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

Pyramid Head only has one thing, and it's tunneling.

    I think that's a bit disingenuous.

He hasn't been out that long yet. Sure he's good at tunnelling if you play him that way, but that's like saying all Leatherface has is Insidious Camping.

Pyramid Head may shine in other ways that people just haven't figured out yet.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

Have you tried this on multiple maps to be sure it isn't a lighting issue?

I've faced Survivors with this cosmetic; it looks greyish green even on Coldwind farm.

  • I mean, this is a forum.

Provided they follow it's rules, people can say what they will. You can't just tell them not to because you don't like seeing it.

By the same token if you want to say that Pyramid Head's kit doesn't support tunnelling or talk about what makes the new chapter good, you're free to too; regardless of whether people dislike seeing it.

  • What? Aww, I'm gonna miss whacking hooked EGC or last Survivors with max STBFL stacks.

It just looks and sounds funny as heck.

Ugh. Another Killer who gets screwed over by the crappy Emblem system. Maybe I'll just start depipping to purple ranks for these trophies.

Do it. You'll get the same Survivors anyway.

And I can testify to the number of times I'd have had his Adept if I'd been a Purple Rank.

  • We need more posts like these.

I hope that Ghostface, or any person that gets so tired/upset they wanna give up sees this thread.

Things do get better as you get better at the game, there are other Killers try, other perks to use, and, if DbD really just isn't doing it, other fun things to do with your time - maybe you'll feel different if you try and play again after a nice break.

At the end of the day, DbD is a game and it should be fun to play!

  • No. Spine Chill is strong, but it doesn't need a nerf.

It's one of the like 10 perks in the entire game that actually helps you in a number of situations without needing the stars to properly align first. I don't see how that's a bad thing.

    -

How about instead of asking "should Spine Chill be nerfed" we ask "should Premonition be buffed" and "should Stealth Killers be buffed".

Same general idea for NOED, DS, and what ever else it's popular to gripe about.

We have a ton of stuff in this game that sits in the dumpster and never sees the light of day besides random perk wheels, meme builds, and adept trophy attempts.

Maybe instead of arguing that we should throw some strong and versatile thing into that ever expanding mass of mostly worthless trash, we suggest buffs for some the garbage stuff?

Not all the time of course, and I do experience my share of the above as Default Dwight, Quentin, or Nea; but it does tend to happen more the more "ToX1c" I'm dressed.

  • A.

Or if the Gates are within LOS of each other I just give myself up.

  • Honestly, I quite liked BHVR's old system of leaving it up to the player to decide who was what if they cared enough - but in hindsight they did rather heavily allude to more than a couple of straight relationships without any indication at all of any others.

So them deciding they'll correct that is fine with me. Pride cosmetics/charms when?

honestly spine chill shouldn't work while in undetectable statue, like.. you're suppose to be undetectable..why does this perk still work?

Tbf, if Spine Chill didn't work on Undetectable Killers it'd be pretty pointless itself.

Why use a perk to counter stealth if it doesn't counter stealth? It'd only be good for the vaulting build and being Oblivious.

I will say that I think Spine Chill shouldn't work on Michael Myers; since he can only leave Tier 1 by looking at Survivors and he already moves at a massively decreased speed (and has a smallwe than average lunge) to balance out his Stealth.

I'm with Spine Chill working on everyone else though. There are ways to work around it if you suspect Survivors have it on everyone but Michael.

I figured there was a reason no one did, I guessed it was the range thanks

Yea, at a movement rate of 3.68 meters per second needing to crouch whenever you're within 40 meters of someone can eat a lotta time.

Honestly, even M&A + Tier 3 Whispers for being sneaky is a bit of waste IMO; just because of how many people can counter you with Sprint Burst or Spine Chill.

Let me explain, first of all, iron will is a meta perk now denying a lot of sound you can use. Second, L and T walls are some of the most annoying loops, you can pull off some amazing plays. Also, there are very specific loops that I'm all ears can help you shut down, like the cow tree on coldwind farm maps.

Survivors make noise when they run and leave scratchmarks; unless they're fast vaulting a window miles quite a distance away you can just see where they went with your eyes.

Maybe it's because I play on console, but I've never had an issue with an L T wall; you position yourself so that you're in the center of the time and I find there's just not enough time or distance for a Survivor to avoid a mindgame.

As for cowtree the Survivor can see you at all times. I don't get how knowing where they are would help shorten the loop.

  • I still don't understand the point of it.

What information do you get from it that you wouldn't get by just using your ears, eyes, and brain?

    Edit:

Like L-T walls; it's basically useless both you and the Survivor can see each other the whole time and know where the other is going.

Jungle gyms; it won't help you unless you can also hide your Red Stain and Terror Radius.

Old God Loops/Killer Shack Windows; you can physically see the Survivor at all times if you look through the cracks in the wall.

  • I'm confused about your specifications for this stuff; are we assuming pre-Entity or just that they're not unstoppable because Entity magic? Because if we're assuming pre-Fog state most of the original Killers were just more or less regular people.

    That aside:

Everyone seems to be forgetting that pre-Entity Wraith overpowered an armed man AND RIPPED HIS [BAD WORD] SPINE AND SKULL OUT WITH HIS BARE HANDS!!! He's at least as lethal with his bare hands as Michael.

Clown may be overweight and old, but he's also huge! Assuming our fighter is also using their bare hands it wouldn't be that easy to stop him.

And Huntress; we're shown her bashing a soldier's face in with her bare hands in her lore - she's strong and fast and would probably have an above average chance against anyone in a one on one fight.

As for Leatherface he's fairly strong and huge; not only could he pretty easily kill someone with his bare hands how exactly would you stop him? The guy takes a chainsaw to the leg (and bullets in other later films) and still keeps coming.

Maybe if you're sending in some martial arts master like Ip Man or Leung Bik against these people, they'll lose, but I'm pretty sure they would crush just about anyone else.

Soul Guard isn't used for the unbreakable effect its used for the Endurance effect.

I assumed you were replacing Unbreakable with Soul Guard, not using both. My bad.

    -

Then you'd only have benefited from Soul Guard in 21 of those games; the 6 where you weren't immediately downed it would have been useless.

And you still can't guarantee that minimum of 21 games out of 100 will happen instead of ones where nobody is slugged. You could be running two perks, half your build, that will never activate.

  • I'm pretty sure Soul Guard is destined for the dumpster.

It's fairly strong in it's niche scenarios - but in the end that is still a niche usefulness. I just don't see this being able to compete with the reliable and string meta perks out there.

From a meta perspective; why use Soul Guard Borrowed Time but for being slugged when there are other more reliable perks?

  • @Dead_by_chrissy said:

Okay a while ago I did unbreakable tests and charted it like this.

Came in handy = I got myself up and lasted 10+ seconds afterwards.

Almost Came in handy = got myself up but went down within 10 seconds.

Useless = Didn't get myself up at all.

Now lemme show the numbers which I still have saved.

    Came in Handy: 6 games

Almost came in handy: 21 games

Useless: 73 games (Killers really dont slug much dont know why people complain about it)

Anyways these numbers show that soul guard would basically make unbreakable go from an average of usefulness of 6 games per 100 too at minimum 27 games per 100. I'll do retests when Soul Guard comes out but I think it'll definitely be ran into my normal builds because very frequently I get picked up and downed within 10 seconds.

Keep in mind, Soul Guard requires you to be actively Cursed for it's Unbreakable effect to activate AND it has no boost to recovery speed like Unbreakable.

You also have nothing to reasonably support the claim that 27 out of 100 games of usefulness will be the guaranteed minimum amount of games where it's useful. There's no guarantee of even getting slugged 27 out of 100 games, let alone being slugged long enough to benefit from Soul Guard.

Your friend sounds like he's really burnt out on this game.I would suggest taking a break from this game for some time, honestly.

This. If you do the same thing long enough, it'll get boring. It doesn't matter what it is.

It may also be worth talking to your friend about what they enjoyed about DbD in the first place; maybe help them reawaken that initial interest they had or help them find something else they'd enjoy.

  • Quentin Smith.

He's got a beanie, I can relate to his being always tired, and he's probably the best character from the NOES reboot.

I mean, he gets stabbed by Freddy like 3 times and still survives! It's not often the Slasher Villain is the one saying "Why won't you just [BAD WORD] die!?"

He's just as cool in DbD's lore too; facing off against Freddy and *nearly* beating him by turning the Dream World against him.

And when that doesn't work Quentin makes the ultimate sacrifice; invoking the Entity and trapping both himself and Freddy in the trials so that Freddy won't be able to lay a finger on Nancy ever again.

    Quentin is best boi.

    Also Speedo Quentin when BHVR?

  • We don't know, but probably not.

Keep in mind, the Entity is an extradimensional being that exists outside of time itself. We don't even know if it 'eats' the hope and other emotions of Survivors in a way that we can understand.

It's entirely possible that it could starve if totally denied access to the emotional energy it takes from Survivors and Killers, but it does take this from BOTH Survivors and Killers: and not just when Survivors are sacrificed, otherwise there'd be no Moris.

Given this I don't think it'll weaken noticeably at all; let alone starve if every Killer started letting Survivors go even if it does need the energy they provide - although it might want to get new Killers that do as they're told.

  • @Vox_Nocturne said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1343826#Comment_1343826

Very much what I think. The Entity exists in one of infinite Universes. Lisa Garland here would exist in that one universe where The Entity can grab her. In the vast majority of universes, her fate would have many differences.

Mind you, another thing to consider is (taking into account the multiverse theory) how many Entities are there? Basically, each of us plays the game as if it was one of many universes, and we cross paths with each other in mergers or the same. And each character could have many versions of themselves, or their alternative outfits could be different people entirely, which we assume is suchandsuch, hence why we see their names. Like if The Entity makes The Wraith see everyone as Azarov.

Basically, you own the universe you play, and that reality is unique to you.

    Exactly.

Although with regards to the Entity, she is an extradimensional creature: it's unlikely there are any other versions unless her origins are less cosmic and primordial than suggested by the Observer - since that would mean she originates from one of the infinite universes, rather than having always existed outside them.

  • @WRussoW said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1344070#Comment_1344070

"These are just multiple universes" explanation for this game = "The character is in coma" explanation for any game/movie/series. Both are lazy af

I don't think anyone will disagree with you; but it's part of the established lore and probably the best explanation for how characters from ongoing licenses can be in DbD too.

  • Ranch is great and does go with a TON of stuff, but you can put Ketchup on and mix it with anything.

Ketchup on salty foods? The best.

    Ketchup on sweet foods? Okay.

    Ketchup with vegetables? Alright.

    Ketchup and fruit? Pretty tasty.

    Ketchup and mustard? Good.

    Ketchup and mayo? Great.

    Ketchup and BBQ sauce? Nice.

    Ketchup and peanut butter? Fine.

    Ketchup and chocolate? Suprisingly good.

As much as I love ranch, ketchup is just too versatile not to be best dipping sauce.

  • I'm a nerd - reading and figuring out the lore of any media (games, movies, books) is enjoyable to me.

  • I feel like an important part of DbD's lore is that it operates under the assumption of a multiverse.

It's not the Lisa Garland, but a version of Lisa Garland that the Entity has seen potential in and kidnapped.

Similar to how our Nancy and Steve went on an exploration of the Hawkins Lab and the Demogorgon was contained by the government and studied; despite that not being implied in the show.

Who knows what has happened to this Lisa, what she's gone through, and how she's gone through it.

    -

This said, from a meta perspective I'm 90% sure she's just included to be a character from Silent Hill 1 (because I guess the devs couldn't get Harry or just don't think Harry is the COOLEST. DAD. EVER.)

  • It's certainly possible; but there's no way to know for now.

I don't see why not though.

  • It's rough, but you start to get a feel for it after practice. Huntress is one of the more difficult Killers to learn, particularly on console.

If you're looking for instant success though, you can do as @youarewronglol suggested and tape your screen to act as a crosshair; but of course that won't help land any Hatchets that you have to arc.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1340089#Comment_1340089

That wouldn't work as we have A Amanda as a killer already. Guarantee the devs don't want a situation like that.

I mean, we can have 4 identical Dwights in the same game; what would be any worse with the Killer potentially chasing themselves?

  • @johnmwarner said:

So obviously if I wanted to “win,” or “pip,” consistently this may not work so it’s not for everyone. But I don’t stress as much and I’ve been earning some good blood points and feeling like a KILLER again!

I dropped Pop, surge, ruin and started running BBQ and three chase perks or sometimes two chase perks and something utility like Devour hope.

Sometimes I get gen rushed and the game is over quick but I’m just meh and queue up again. You’ll still black pip or even one pip if the team wasn’t crazy.

I have some fun, the chases I do get to do I end quickly because of Bamboozle, enduring or whatever else I run.

I'm glad to hear you're having fun!

Not every build needs to be meta or focused on 'winning' to be enjoyable. Different people like different things.

Personally I quite enjoy running Bamboozle, Enduring, Brutal Strength, and Spirit Fury on Legion; I feel it's especially good on them given how easily they can get that first hit and keep Survivors Injured.

Naturally I get genrushed out that wazoo (even games where I quickly 4k because the Survivors really mess up usually end at 3 gens), but - like you said - it feels fun and powerful to play that way from time to time.

  • I mean, Bubba is a licensed character, and he's had some issues joining the roster on other platforms. It's possible licensing issues are keeping him from getting masks or a sizeable rework.

That said, I would kill (pun absolutely intended) for an Aceface and Urbanface.

  • AFAIK there haven't been any patches made to the game lately, so any issues of objects phasing through you, like you're a spooky ghost, or hitting you from a mile away, like the Huntress is actually throwing a fridge disguised as an ax, would be because of latency - (internet issues on your end, the Killer's end, or with the server) - not because the hitboxes themselves are messed up.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

What about making it so that if you get hit while unhooking someone, you get deep wounds. You have 8/10/12 seconds to mend. This counts both if you are injured or not, so as not to make it too strong. To counter it, the killer can wait until you finish to attack you, or attempt a grab. But also makes it so if you take a hit getting to a hook, you can still get them off of it and run. This also provides a counterplay to camping killers.

That'd only really be beneficial if you're making the save while Injured. And even with this that'd still be really risky.

Also free extra health states are annoying even at the best of times - at worst this would be useless for the Survivor and at best frustrating for the Killer.

I'd rather WGLF increase the speed at which you perform Altruistic actions on other Survivors by 3% per token. 12% faster unhooks at 4 tokens and 12% faster heals on other Survivors would be enough to be noticeable without being broken IMO.

  • I don't see any big issues with this change, but I'd rather any new effects to Up The Ante be more compatible with Ace's other two teachables - or just more versatile in general.

As is, all three of his perks are both lacklustre and dependent upon other synergistic perks being used - having only a minimal or no effect when used alone.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1340054#Comment_1340054

Let me put it this way: if you stack all the luck perks and offerings you have right now, you have something like a 96% chance to self-unhook after 3 attempts.

And you would have a less of chance with OP's suggested Up The Ante.

In order to get the 5% boost to Luck you'd need to acquire maximum tokens in a perk that can gain tokens. That means you'd need 4 WGLF stacks, a powered Mettle of Man, or 5 tokens on Autodidact before you get that 5% bonus.

While yes, if all 4 Survivors were adding 15% each through 3 perks with maximum tokens and benefiting from Salty Lips, you'd have a near guaranteed chance of Escape over 3 attempts of unhooking yourself, the requirements would be insane - even with Up The Ante doubling the tokens that are earned.

    -

This suggestion would be a little nutty, but more because you could get Mettle of Man up with just 2 Protection Hits and benefit from the full effects of Autodidact after just 3 skillchecks. Not because it'd be marginably easier to self-unhook assuming the perfect conditions.

  • Probably not, unless I get a bunch of garbage perks on him and it's one of the only even semi-decent ones.

That said, I think I will still hook people with Tormented, going for the mini-Mori when they're on Death Hook instead of the Cages - since, AFAIK, Tormented is only removed by being sent to a Cage.

  • This isn't a poll!

    I feel lied to. /s

  • I thought the Wraith looked cool.

He was not, however, cool enough to handle the Red Rank Survivors abusing a SWF glitch that matchmaked their group as if they were Rank 20s back during the abysmal state the game was in during the Howling Grounds Event. So after some games as Meg I kinda quit DBD until I learned the Lullaby for the Dark DLC had to be purchased for 0 dollars and 0 cents on PSN before you could use it.

    Then it was Huntress time.

And it's never stopped being Huntress time.

  • @Inji said:

Ye exactly. Green keys exist so that you can use the addons. It also has more durability than a Dull key.

    You would think that.

Except that Skeleton Keys have three times as much durability, can open the Hatch, AND are more common than Broken Keys despite being Ultra-Rare because of how rarity in Bloodwebs actually works.

If you're planning on using a Key for it's channeling effects you'd ideally want to use a Skeleton Key. It's just all around better in addition to being easier to get from Bloodwebs.

    @BeHasU

Broken Keys, AFAIK, just exist because originally all items had one variation and the devs wanted Keys to be a more accessible and usable. Hence Dull and Broken Keys - one just for the Hatch and the other just for add-ons.

  • Definitely. I don't see the issue with an Iron Will + Lucky Break combo. The Survivor is still one hit down and still leaves scratchmarks. That's also a perk slot that could have instead been used for DS, Dab Hard, Adrenaline, Spine Chill, or whatever. It's not a broken combo anymore than Tenacity and No Mither are.

And even if you disagree there, surely you understand that the perk needs some kind of buff. I mean, how often do you see people using Lucky Break? Because I haven't seen it on someone in a match since literally the exact day that Cursed Legacy came out.

  • @luvcraft, you should probably update your post and/or title. If you leave it as is I think you're gonna get like 20+ more angry comments all reacting to your title. I mean, unless of course you don't mind/enjoy getting them.

That aside, I'm sorry that games aren't going so well for you and I hope that you have more fun in future matches.

Something that I like to do when I play is listen to music while playing. Maybe you could try putting on a you like song and have your Killer dance after Survivors in chase if they're obviously master Survivors? Just a suggestion, but I think it'd be more fun dancing to 'Maniac' from Flashdance as Michael Myers or Trapper than scrolling through Twitter while you wait for them to get bored.

  • No reason to add that addendum, you'll face Rank 1 Survivors anyway.

I wish I could add an /s for this joke.
