  • The funny thing is that an Iridescent Head Huntress is actually worse at camping because she has less Hatchets.

I'm no proponent of Iridescent Hatchets (personally I find them to be rather unfun) but I think you should provide an actual argument for them being removed.

As is this post is just "I've run into something I don't like, it's ridiculous that it exists, remove it".

  • I play every Killer quite a bit, but Huntress and Legion (in that order) are easily my favorites though, and have the distinction of being P3-50 with all perks.

    For Survivor, Nea and Quentin.

They have beanies. Beanies! Also I dig them specifically as characters.

I might try that, possibly with myc instead of whispers

Feel free, I just use Whispers on almost every build and Make Your Choice synergizes amazingly with the unhooker being Oblivious.

  • I like using Rancor with Nemesis, Furtive Chase, and Whispers. Rancor Roulette I call it. You get to see the Survivors freak out as they pass it around.

That's fun, for me at least.

As for Rancor itself, I'm 90% sure it only exists just so you can complete the Mori Dailies without a Mori.

And no, it's not very fair, but meh; I also don't think it's a big problem.

Sometimes I bring it as insurance to have the Obsession Claws around a Survivor for the Killer to slug for 60 seconds giving me a chance to save whoever gets unhooked and downed again.

DS really is one of those perks that has more uses than it's description says.

    Exactly this.

It's one of those few perks that can change how the entire game is played. An unsafe save can help the Survivors win, Obsession claws can discourage tunnelling, etc.

  • Honestly if you don't run DS you're crazy; that's all there is too it.

I can't count how many Survivors survive solely because their DS lasts long enough to protect them when they're repairing an unsafe generator or save another Survivor in my face. And I usually keep a good idea of who of I've hooked and how long I need to slug them. But the times I don't pay off extremely well for the Survivors.

It's just such a strong and helpful perk that you should always bring it every game. Heck, even if you don't/never get to use it, the mere threat of it can be enough to give you a tactical edge.

Also I don't get the "I wanna use other perks" complaints. It's one perk out of your four perk slots. You can run a fun build with DS. I almost always run Wake Up! or Spine Chill as Survivor and still find that two perk slots free leaves plenty room for silly builds and meme stuff.

I don't think it needs more effects, I just think Torment needs to be easier to apply.

See I'm the opposite. I think it should be difficult to apply, but rewarding when it is applied.

Legion is a perfect example of a Killer that can apply a relatively underwhelming status effect very easily. And we all know how fun they are to face and play as.

I'd like Pyramid Head to a least get a chance to explore the opposite end of the spectrum. At least see how something like that plays out in the meta over time.

  • Well, I hate to ruin the whole "special and deserved to be shared" vibe but I got mine when a Deathslinger DC'ed.

It was weird too. He'd already killed two people and we had 2 gens left, he'd basically won.

I mean, I did Head On save the only other person alive as he was carrying them to a hook, but I'd done that to him before that game and he didn't DC then. Why DC now?

  • Favorite: Thick Hunter's Coat

    Untitled Image

It's just cool looking, it goes great with all of her masks, the long coat flows really dramatically, and she actually has boots to keep her feet from getting splinters! It's basically perfect.

Like, I'll use other body outfits, but this is hands down the best. It's just too cool.

    Least Favorite: Undercut Comb-back

    Untitled Image

    Why? Why does this exist?

Like, I'm personally a fan of Nea's face. I think she looks pretty cute. And I'm also a fan of this type of hairstyle. There are people who can pull it off and make it look really cool.

But the pink dye? And the stupid looking shades? No. Not good. Bad. Very bad.

  • Because Nikki says "Buckle up fuckos".

Assuming this gets hit with the swear filter, it's Hope's flavor text.

That's honestly the only thing I can think of that has been in DbD since the beginning that would be worthy of giving it an 18+. Unless of course, cartoonishly chainsawing someone in half and not doing any visible damage counts as violence too gruesome for anyone under 18.

Dead hard the shock therapy. Honestly it sounds and looks dumb but it works more often than not, and it can make enough distance to get to a window or pallet. So you're still skillfully pressing a button to outplay the killer, you're just doing it earlier instead.

    This.

I will say though that Dead Hard's little dab dash animation can still get you killed on more than a couple loops, but trying it is better than just dying.

  • I prefer y'all, but that's mostly because saying "you guys" just sounds weird to me when most of my friend groups are predominantly female.

Like, I know guys can be used in a gender neutral sense, but still.

Maybe I should try switching to youse or yinz though.

  • Frank's Mixtape is objectively the most badly designed add-on in existence.

Like Rule Set #2 sucks, don't get me wrong. But it can maybe, possibly help get you head pop.

BP add-ons give you more BP at the cost of a, typically minor, penalty and can be a fun challenge.

Frank's Mixtape is just objectively worthless.

And not because it's bugged like some add-ons, but because it's effect goes in the face of everything you should be doing with your power as The Legion: encouraging you to tunnel one person with your power and try to get their Deep Wound timer to run out.

And that's only if a Survivor doesn't just Mend during the time you spend stunning yourself for using Feral Frenzy to hit a Survivor with Deep Wounds or the time you spend waiting for your Feral Frenzy to recharge after hitting them.

It's just bad and pointless and dumb; traits unfortunately shared (albeit to a lesser degree) by a number of Legion's add-ons.

Yeah kind of agree. However, with all the voice work that they need to put in, I just don't know if that's something they're willing to do considering the potential amount of legendary skins we could get.

If they didn't do it for Legion, I can't really see them doing it here. I could be wrong though. I guess we'll find out in 3 weeks with Lisa.

That's just the devs engaging in their favorite pastime; hating on Legion. /s

Lisa will definitely get a unique voice, I'm calling it.

I mean, they insource almost all their voice acting AFAIK (only Ash (and maybe Huntress with her humming) comes to mind as having any outsourced VA).

  • I don't see why not. Same with the new voice/grunts questions.

Honestly it seems like a waste of the concept if they didn't - what's the point of adding a completely new outfit type to let you change the character if all it means is that you're just going to give them a different face?

  • Iron Maiden isn't anymore oppressive on Huntress than it is on any other Killer.

If anything it's less effective on her, because Survivors usually don't get in lockers against her. It's a good way to get grabbed/take a free hit when you jump out before she can grab you.

That said, I will agree the Iron Maiden + BBQ combo is a bit nasty. You don't need to slug, just hook the 3rd person and the 4th will reveal their location.

If you're a Killer with high mobility you basically just win - barring a Key play.

  • @supersonic853 said:

You want oppresive max static blast radius doctor with iron maiden. Most bs thing ive ever seen.

Iron Maiden on him in general is nice.

But you combo it with a The Game Offering, Distressing, and two Calm add-ons? Oh boy...

    https://youtu.be/WJ1zTKdQQ_M
  • Huntress alone has killed platoons of soldiers with guns.

I'm confident she, a huge raging warrior with a gigantic club, and a supernatural ghost that can teleport will be able to handle everyone else working together.

Well, maybe everyone but Freddy - but he can't really by stopped by any waking person nor really help defend against any of them either. I think Huntress + Oni is the best option.

Also I'm an insomniac that's seen all of the NOES films, so I think I have an edge against Freddy.

  • I can't testify for anyone else, but I have fun.

Throwing Hatchets, listening to Bayu Bayushki Bayu, playing as Michael Myers, vaulting over pallets and going AH UH OOO, and menacing Survivors with vomit are all fun at times.

I enjoy just playing Killer. Win or lose, trash talk or kind words, tons of BP or next to none, it's fun for me.

  • See stuff like this is hard.

    You're right and you're wrong.

    -

Survivor is hard when you're trying to win with solo queues and people that aren't playing their hardest to win.

Killer is easy when Survivor players are solos that aren't trying their hardest/aren't gods at Survivor.

And most Survivors are solos/duos that aren't gods at the game.

But Survivors that are focused and try hard, as a team, to win will stomp most of the Killer roster barring a dedicated tunnel or NOED.

    -

The reason so many Killer Mains complain about the latter so much is because you can TELL when Survivors aren't playing their best. You can feel wasted time or misplays on their part, and I have no doubt it upsets people or robs a lot of them of the feeling of control.

We don't face SWF seal teams often, but we can feel their absence and know when we win because our opponents played badly not because we played well.

    -

This is the reason so many Survivors can feel geniunely powerless and frustrated while Killers feel the same way.

    Both feelings are valid.

  • She's Cheryl, because this version of her is from a timeline where the cult is defeated and she no longer needs to hide her identity as Cheryl (the reincarnated split soul of a god).

That said, Heather is objectively a better name so I'm calling her Heather.

devs have been sneaking in Mike nerfs for years, they quietly made his stalk shorter and shorter, then coudlnt stalk over grass and some obstacles, and even removed being able to stalk multiple people at once etc,... 100% expected by now.

I know there are obstacles that you can't stalk over now that you could before, but you can't stalk multiple people at a time anymore? When did that change?

  • Of course; I like being scared and I like being scary - the sooner DbD gets an earnest fear factor going the better IMO.

  • @TheAntiSanta said:

They quite clearly changed the way one of The Legion's trophy's worked on PS4, back when they last did a major fiddling with their ability.

I think it's worth pointing out that the old trophy was technically achievable when it was changed (it still would be actually) - just insanely difficult because Survivors could deny it if they had even the bare minimum of game knowledge.

  • We can only hope.

Given the art direction with the teased graphic updates and the new map itself, it seems like they're definitely going for this though.

It's so crazy to think that DbD might actually become a survival horror game.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Who knows how long this has been in the game. If it were a survivor bug that benefited them you'd all be saying devs never fix bugs that help survivors or hurt killers. But because it was a bug that favored the killer it's called a nerf lol.

And people actually expect to be "compensated" for a fixed bug 🤦

But they're removing an effect specified by the text of the add-ons in questions.

If it was just a bug fix, I don't think anyone would complain or ask for justification (who I am kidding, someone would, but you know what I mean: fewer people would) - but they are removing what is apparently a legitimate effect of the add-on and saying it's a bug fix.

Unless somehow, the text was bugged too? But then at that point where do we draw the line between bugs and intended effects?

Also not every thread needs to turn into another Survivor vs. Killer argument.

  • I'm conflicted between being happy Legion's getting a really cool new mask and being sad that so many other, much more interesting (no offense intended to the Legion's artist - the work they put into that submission (a freaking trailer with music!?) is incredible) outfits lost.

  • Yea, how is it a bug if the add-on description themselves say that it's part of what it does?

I don't see how that's anything other than the add-ons performing as intended.

  • I'm not gonna lie, seeing Heather caught me off-guard for a full 3 seconds.

Honestly. Seems like whenever there is a doctor the frame rate just has a stroke

It's even worse facing him if he applies status effects. NOED and Sloppy Butcher basically freeze the game for a good second or two.

  • Hopefully, it'll come with some of the fabled optimization we hear about every so often.

I'd love to not lose frames whenever I use my power as Doctor.

  • AND cross-progression too!

As someone who plays on both PC and PS4, I'm more than a little excited.

How are you so lucky as to have BBQ, STBFL and Nurse's Calling (all Tier 3) on Ghostface with only 80 hours?

Maybe 70 of those hours were during the double BP event? And they grabbed BBQ off the shrine last time it was on SoS?

Yep. I was disappointed last time at how the badass wraith skin didnt make it. Had I not looked at them, I'd of been WAY more hyped for Mr Puddles and Demon NEA. I love them both, but man that wraith skin...

Aw, why you'd have to remind me!? If we're talking about the same skin that thing was beyond incredible - it looked like it walked out of a Zdzisław Beksiński painting.

And as great as Elephant Clown is, it's actually a crime we didn't get that one Saint/Angel outfit for Nurse. That one was beautiful.

Ugh, why do so many people submit such amazing art? It's not fair that most of them will never get into the game.

  • No.

I've already seen like 20 outfits I'd love/kill to have in-game. Looking at more is just setting myself up to be disappointed by the reveal when it's not the Serpent Plague outfit or Nea in a cat onesie or Wraith in Dark Souls-esque armor or etc.

    Ignorance is bliss.

  • The sorcerer isn't the dealbreaker; the fact that it's more about sexual gratification via pain and less about eldritch horrors from hell and the perils of tampering with the occult is.

Well there is soul collecting...its kind of hard to explain 😂 but yeah the whole movie (1 and 2 at least) is based around sex. Theres even a giant monster at one point trying to eat Kirsty thats...well...phallic 😂

Im not doing it justice. Its totally worth the watch

I have no idea where the sorcerer thing came from. Theres a ton of occult references 🤷‍♂️

I probably just had it inaccurately explained to me.

A friend, who encouraged me to watch it, gave me a brief summary of the story by saying some sorcerer tries to one up some demons he's summoned by sacrificing the souls of others so he doesn't have to lose his, and Pinhead tries to catch him.

I didn't watch it, because I didn't think a horror movie where both the protagonist is as bad as the antagonist would be too enjoyable.

If it's mostly just about sex though, I can understand why my friend toned it down\made it vague in description (I'm a bit of a prude).

  • As much as I personally like Bitter Murmur, just use Whispers and slam the Hatch shut immediately.

No...people are looking for something a little more with sex than what most people want. Pinhead and the cenobytes oblige by giving maximum pain to go with it. In the first 2 they arent even bad guys necessarily, more like a force of nature. Like a tornado. You should absolutely check the first 2 out. CLASSIC.

So the cenobites are just the supernatural embodiments of S&M?

There's no soul collecting? No chasing after evil sorcerers who thought they could get away with making a deal with the devil?

Hellraiser is just about some nonhuman perverts scaring human perverts?

Well, my interest in a Hellraiser chapter, and in the movies, just died.

  • I've never seen Hellraiser so I'd only really care if their perks were decent and the power was fun. Oh and if the map looks cool.

I'm sketchy on my Hellraiser knowledge, but doesn't Pinhead chase after some evil sorcerer dude in his films?

How would they fit in as a Survivor?

  • While I definitely know what you're talking about, if you think STBFL is addicting, try Shadowborn.

Or don't; if you enjoy having 4 free perk slots.

You don't notice just how nauseatingly limited the FOV for Killers is until you widen it and try to go back.

I know they made some adjustments to the emblems and to the pipping requirements for different ranks in the Demise of the Faithful patch, so it's not unlikely that that was one of them. I don't remember well enough what the pipping requirements were between the emblem system's introduction and the release of that patch to know for sure, though.

It was the adjustment that changed Survivor requirements for Emblems (dull totems gave Lightbringer and being chased gave Lightbringer points if others were made progress on gens) as well as the changes that made it much harder to pip the higher you were Ranked IIRC - none of which should have effected Adept Achievements, but evidently something did.

I'm agreeing with you that it probably was due to some spaghetti code change, and not an intentional change - just clarifying that it wasn't tied to the Victory-Emblem transition.

Edit: which would likely make fixing this issue even more difficult, since they may not know what caused it.
