  • the devs wanted to implement this mori exactly the same last time, the community said NAY, and now they are gonna try again?..

  • give the children that cant play more wallhacks

e.g. we need more perks where we can see through walls

or even better, replace the killers with bots that can just home in on the survivors non-stop

or try this, add all the wallhack perks in the base kit, so killers can try and use some fun perks too

  • skull merchant should just be remade or removed, the killer is ugly (not in the horror sense), animations are a joke, killer power is boring for both survivors and killer

  • speaking of the devil, distortion got nerfed, and they added more wallhack perks

It's quite simple, you always have to keep your escape route in mind. When you repair a gen you must know where the nearest window or pallet is. And when you hide, instead of doing it in a corner exposing yourself for a free free-hit, at least hide better positioned. You don't know what perks or addons killer may use, tha'ts why you should play it safer instead of complaining about being caught in a bad position with auras.

what you're talking about is meta-gamer gameplay, where by meta I mean sweaty, tryhard, 100% focused to do PVP and rank up

the concern I am mentioning is about the immersed-gamer gameplay, which as a casual gamer I tend to enjoy the most, playing relaxed, hiding behind a tree when the killer comes, having a quick laugh when he walks past me, just like in a real-life situation

tunneling and camping are already ruining the experience since forever and is difficult to control and implement solutions by the devs, so can''t really banter about that

but wallhacks destroy the gameplay for both stealth killers and stealth survivors, yet they can be easily removed

  • @Grigerbest said:

Veeeery long ago DBD was more of a hide&seek type of game. Now it's not (for years actually).

While hiding still works to waste some killer's time - the main part of wasting a killer's time - being good in a chase.

Also: Trying to find a survivor to chase is the most boring part of the game to me. I think I'm not the only one who finds it boring.

Ever was left with 2 last survivors hiding for the rest of the match and not working on gens? :D

this usually happens when you tunnel, so survivors say "oh u wanna play like an immersed killer not caring about anything? ok lets go immersed survivor gameplay time"

having good manners as a killer will get you a lot more enjoyable games

  • make him only infinite T3 please

  • @Huge_Bush said:

Survivors repeatedly told the devs that the chase is the most fun aspect of the game so the devs obliged and pushed killers to chase more rather than guard gens or camp.

While I agree that the chase is fun for a lot of people, I do miss being Blendette (not the useless version) and I do think there is too much Aura reading. It won’t hurt to tone it down a little but being realistic they’re not going to delete any perks.

so find a way to make getting into chases interesting without grabbing the killer by the hand like a child and showing him exactly where the survivor is

the survivor being oblivious to the fact the killer is wallhacking, is hiding while the killer is homing right on him, gets the killer a free hit, generally making chases shorter

so if chases are shorter because of wallhacks, where is the fun in that?

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

honestly agree with this post there’s just way too many aura perks in the game now

every killer uses at least a wallhack perk

seeing the killer come to you like a heat-detecting homing missile is a reenactment of the worst written horror movies that exist right now

Well, if you can take "humiliation" on on side then i guess you are capable of taking it on the other and this whole thread is obsolete, right?

one one side, I can take humiliation on Killers perspective while doing moonwalks

on survivors side, I am forced to watch the same (3rd hook) impaling & abducting animation over and over

Why do we have posts like this on the forums Jesus man...

The death animation lasts like what 15 seconds just check your phone browse Twitter or the forums whatever u want.

"It takes alot of time" you definitely never played Hell let Loose before.

Seeing your character dies add this effect of not being how can I say that maybe permanently invincible it adds a little horror to this game where horror is already very limited it's more like a action game.

especially the licensed characters seeing Laurie Strode get consumed by the entity feels weird sometimes as she in the Halloween franchise she was always that strong character that will always prevail against Evil no matter the cost, but in DBD evil can win (bad ending Sadge).

"Seeing your character dies add this effect of..."

the effect of "shet, i didnt escape" big wow

Given the art direction with the teased graphic updates and the new map itself, it seems like they're definitely going for this though.

It's so crazy to think that DbD might actually become a survival horror game.

    thanks for sharing my vision

  • he would be boring af.

But i want to see more brutal killers that survivors cant really run away from. Thus promoting more hiding, which makes the game more immersive/scary.

right now its "1v1 me on this loop noob"

  • Sadly, a lot of potential, but really shet looking.

If they were to stick with how RE2 Remake looked and played, it would've been awesome.

But they made it really ARCADEy and it ruins the immersiveness overall, it doesn't feel scary at all.

I really want a well-optimized, balanced, actually SCARY horror game that is like dead by daylight.. But I guess we'll just have to wait some more.

Just like PUBG got replaced by the recently released COD:MW Royale, as it looks gorgeous, well optimised, feels fantastic, and sounds fantastic.

What a few of us asked for was the rift to reward a portion of the auric cells instead of the full amount so you pay less for the pass but gain all the rewards.

I guess the devs don't want this as players have all the skins and are less likely to buy the one a they need using the store. By doing this players will always have some left over cells which again tricks the mind as some will want to use up the currency they have.

It's why I don't bother with passes as rhey aren't designed to be completed by the majority but only those who have endless time to put into it. It's a carrot and stick scenario and some like yourself dont see the value of what you get ao you fall into the what you dont get camp.

I'd say most fall into the I got more I'll keep spending though or a lot more posts would appear. It's the nature of these passes. If it's deemed not worth it by yourself by trying it out id say you are in the minority like myself and not the consumer they aim for.

"and some like yourself dont see the value of what you get"

True, I personally don't see any value at all on the content under level 65/70(ish)

I see 90% garbage, although I would've bought it for the few cosmetics at the end.

This is why the rift is what it is.

Take most items and why they price something at $19.99. This is due to it tricking the brain and seeming cheaper to the mind than $20.00.

No if someone earns 800 cells back and misses out on 3 pieces rhey are more likely to buy it again. The reasoning is that they will see the value of what they paid versus what they got.

Bear in mind the skins you get for the 1k cells far surpasses what they would have cost within the store itself.

So what you look at is needs and value. Needs come in the form of skins. Anyone who purchases the skins constitutes the need. Then we look at value. The skins in the rift would normally costs over 7k cells on thebstire so the value is a lot higher in the rift.

So for a lower price in cells you will get the next rift which means the value is even greater. Then once these skins go onto the store in a few months someone may well spend another $10 on cells alto complete the skin sets as its not just 3 prices of skins but completions of sets. It again makes the value greater for the price.

If they allowed each player to complete the rift then the above wouldn't happen and the rift makes no money as its free for ever and everyone has these complete sets.

It's better to entice people to keep spending and making it less than full price as it keeps the value of it high and creates a constant revenue stream.

"If they allowed each player to complete the rift then the above wouldn't happen and the rift makes no money as its free for ever and everyone has these complete sets."

Finally, a good argument. But this can be reached by anyone who starts playing from rift day 1 (i started playing from half), so.. that's just an error in logic from their side.

My response is the following, I would rather want to hit max level on the tome, then pay 1000 and get 500 auric cells back along with the skins (i would really like to get that lantern and feng ming mask for example), rather than reaching 61/70, get 850 auric cells, and the content up to that point.

I personally want to pay for the exclusives, not the auric cells. And the other players that are in the same boat with me will most likely not pay for the 61/70 rewards.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1187508#Comment_1187508

And if they sold everyone 2K auric cells for $10, they would lose a lot of money they might otherwise have made. You're assuming that people who don't buy the Rift because they don't expect to finish it won't buy anything else (cosmetics, DLC, etc.) either, which is unlikely to be true. At the end of the day, neither of us actually knows how much money they make or don't make, but I'm confident BHVR's accountants are a lot better informed and probably better trained than a couple of players on the forum.

Its hard to argue with someone who doesn't understand that this rift was a glorified 50% sale off 2000 auric cells.

    @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1187492#Comment_1187492

Fibijean, don't forget all the cosmetics that would've costed you probably 10,000 auric cells to buy all of them individually — now costed you 1,000. 😁

    Here is an example:

I sell chickens for 1000$/each. I also sell cows for 50$/each

But if you buy both the chicken and the cow ill give them to you at the special price of 60$.

Its their shop, they price something in a way so that they may make something else seem much more appealing.

  • @Shirokuro said:

Calm Spirit is S-tier. You should get it before it's too late.

For real though, waiting one more day for the shrine isn't the end of the world.

    its not about waiting

  • @BabyClaudette said:

You shouldn't have waited until the last minute to worry about your rift level, you had plenty of time.

i don't play everyday, but i was willing to finish the rift for the rewards. Didn't think i wouln't get max level by completing all the challenges

  • @mysthyc said:

Why would you want a game to make more money anyway? thats not your business? What do you honestly gain from the devs making more money? The only adverse effects from this is that they become more greedy and the game becoming more grinding than it already is. A base game plus dlc's and a premium currency is already enough.

because I WANT to spend my OWN money on DBD. But I want to feel like it was worth spending it. Giving the devs feedback on how to make more money, may very well be a win-win situation, for both the seller and the customer. Think for a second, then reply if you must.

  • @mysthyc said:

Excuse me? Losing money? The devs have a billion dlc's on the steam store and the base game costs 20€ to play something with microtransactions in it aka auric cells. Do you honestly think they lose money?

Excuse you. Losing money. Yes. Or better put, could've made more money. I honestly think they could make more money.

  • @Fibijean "Yes, they get the $10 you spent on the auric cells, but they also lose the $10 that you would have spent on whatever you end up spending the return cells on."

    ^This.

A flat basic math: the devs just sold the customer 2000 auric cells for 10$. The customer got 2k auric cells, the devs got 10$.

Not succeeding in making the customer buy, gets the devs 0$.

Its like you want to finish the rift to get 50% off 2000 auric cells, you play/grind for a sale.

  • @Pizzaman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/140958/the-way-rift-works-loses-devs-money

I don't think they lose money on it. I know at least two people that have bought the premium pass AND tiers to complete the Rift (just because). 500 Auric Cells (worth 5 Tiers in the Rift) cost as much as some of the cheaper DBD Chapter DLCs.

Also, once you bought the premium pass, reached tier 70 and made your auric cells back, now you got some auric cells sitting there, ready to be spent on cosmetics or a DLC. I'm pretty sure people are going to spend some of those cells for that, because that's also what I did.

And also, even if you never buy anything else with those auric cells (the ones you bought to get the premium pass), you still had to buy them. Think about it.

    @zimer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1187476#Comment_1187476

Yes, but (i assume) a big part of the casual gamers might pay only if they get the full level 70/70 done. That's the part where devs are losing money.

    My point still stands.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Perhaps premium get some rift xp bonus? I don't get how your still not done. We're you getting like every challenge in 1 try? Most of the time I was getting them done fast as well. Idk wouldn't surprise me if it was bugged

most of them i did in 1 try, but the 4th level of the tome took a bit longer.

  • A soultion could've been that the ones who paid for the pass, get x2 XP or something

  • @YaiPa said:

believe it or not there are so many people willing to spend money on useless pixels (every week a crying console gamer thread pops up, where they ask for the deathgarden mask or legacy...), and isn't the entire point of making a super grindy season pass forcing casual gamers to pay for pixels?

Yes, but (i assume) a big part of the casual gamers might pay only if they get the full level 70/70 done. That's the part where devs are losing money.

  • @Fibijean said:

Bear in mind that if you buy the pass and finish the Rift, they don't really get any money because you get all your cells back. They make money off people who buy the pass and don't finish it. So while it may seem like losing customers due to that is a bad thing, I suspect they actually make more money by having the Rift as grindy as it is than they would by making it much easier to complete.

So you get all your digital/pixels back, nice. But guess what, they got 10 euros (real money) for your digital goods that you can recycle.

They DID get money. And making more people like you think "I get my money back" is a good way to sell a product.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

I have so far been maxed out on every single tier of both rifts BEFORE finishing all the challenges. I have no clue how someone could finish all of the challenges are somehow still need tons of rifts.

Also what is up with what you just said? You just said you should be able to grind them out....you can? Then you complain about how long it would take? huh?

Are you seriously complaining when you haven't even done the challenges?

How does that lose anyone money lol.

I did all the challenges, and ended up on Tier 61 / 70

thats like 70~ games i have to play and only 7 ours remain.

And as a product seller, would you rather make customers grind their ass off for a pixel reward? Or give them that pixel reward easier and get more customers/money?

  • survivors got adrenaline, killers got noed.

Butthurt survivors will always spit crap at killers for using it, but they don't understand that Adrenaline is the NOED version for survivors

Alternatively have one if your teammates that isn’t be chased get off a gen to pick you up... I can’t count the number of times I’ve recovered fully, drug myself halfway across the map to two teammate who were doing a gen together while the last got chased for over a minute

What if you get get slugged first, then another guy gets slugged, then another, and the last guy is chased.

and there you are, slugged for 3 and a half minutes, because the other guys were either downed on their way to you, or are just too immersed

my point is to figure something out to avoid this kind of "fun" gameplay

  • @BeHasU said:

    1- I agree with this

2- we already have unbreakable and no mither

unbreakable - lets you complete the bar 35% and lets you get up instantly once (after which you can get up just like you said with no perk, while keeping your 35% progression rate)

no mither - lets you get up every time (normal completion rate)

no perk - lets you complete the bar to 95%, then after 30-40 more seconds of being slugged you are able to get up.

    I don't see a problem

  • thanks everyone!

Ghostface is probably the strongest (stalking isnt that useful tbh)

Deathslinger is really fun and you can pull some nice shots off (takes more skill)

Hag, well i dont much enjoy playing games as her, while shes strong against weak survivors (every killer is) she lacks against good survivors, getting alot of pressure as a trap placing killer can be hard if going against survivors that do gens.

    Overall strength wise 1.GF 2.DS 3.Hag

    Fun 1.DS 2.GF 3.Hag

Quick BP 1.DS 2.Hag 3.GF (stalking is really the only way to get deviousness, if theyre clued on it can be hard. while hag can boost deviousness quickly i dont feel she can be as strong or fun as deathslinger)

All up to you tbh, but against a full swf that know how to actually play the game most killers cant do much

just got ghostface, might get DS ? ill see, maybe ill just keep my shards for the next killer

Ghostface is the best and teabagging back is just... fun

    thisss

alright, i thought about buying hag but teabagging back. YES

  • @Yamaoka said:

Hag is the strongest killer out of these 3 (in my opinion). However she can't be played "aggressively". You always have to take your time to turn loops into battlefields and you can't really afford to plain "chase" with her due to 110% ms.

Ghostface is pretty strong and very easy to play. Just cancel your terror radius and get easy hits/downs on survivors working on gens. Works great unless they run Spine Chill (even then you can walk to gens while looking to the side to counter Spine Chill). Also he can stalk/instadown so you have an additional way to get people when you can't afford to hit them twice.

Deathslinger is relatively strong 1 vs 1 but if you face gen-aggressive survivors you'll have a hard time due to his 110% ms. Hag's traps kinda make up for her slow movement speed. Deathslinger ALWAYS has to close distances by walking. If survivors start with the middle gen and loop decently he will definitely struggle most of the time.

I share the exact same thought about deathslinger, even though i didnt play him, only watch a couple of vids
