  • I was about to post about this. It pisses me off so much that they won't just stop disable the cosmedics.

they would rather BAN PEOPLE than lose precious sales.

  • Is it bad to say I just don't care tbh.

Like, im not saying that it isnt a bad thing, but there's just so much lying nowadays that this is nothing.

  • Haddonfield is just a very unbalanced map in general. While I understand that Haddonfield sucks and needs reworked, I dont agree with the fact that the killers won't play the game by getting the map.

I just cant stand the level of toxicity in this community anymore. I should not have to block messages from all people because I get too much hate mail. I should not be getting threats of being banned from PS4 network simply because I want to be nice every once and a while and let new players win so that they actually enjoy the game and want to engage in it further. I hate when I am the killer, people crouch rapidly to indicate a "teabag" meaning you're a trash killer, get off this game.

I really, really loved playing this game as Horror is one of my all time favorite genres but enough is enough. There's only so much abuse one can take. I'm sure I'll receive the same amount of hate in this post as I get in-game after I post it.

You guys have fun. I hope you continue to love this game as I once did. Peace be with you.

I Can't blame you. Only reason I really get on nowadays is to make sure I don't rank reset to far. Even then, I wonder if I should...

  • This is the reason I don't play the game much. Putting up ridiculous challenges like that!

Problem is, there's different type of colour blindness, so changing the aura shade to another colour is not going to help some people and make it worse for others. So there does need to be different type of filters, not just a simple change like this.

I Figured that, so I feel that they could give around... 5 or 6 different colors. That should give enough colors to work for anyone

  • Dbd is the only game that you will get yelled at for no matter what, Especially if you play killer. If you go against a toxic team:

Lose: wow ur so bad ######### bby killer!

Win: wow ur so bad ######### bby killer!! Reported for exploits!

    Against toxic killers:

Lose: u guys suck so bad lol get destroyed bby survivors

Win: u guys suck bad lol using all exploits! Get reported ez bby survivor

  • Survivor: iron will. I dont even do it so much for the stealth. I really just don't like the grunts.

Killer: I wouldn't say I'm addicted to a single perk, but my most common perk used is bbq. Its not that I can't go without, but if I don't know what to use, i throw it in usually. If not bbq, then enduring.

  • @RakimSockem said:

I'll address the DS + Unbreakable towards the end of the thread because I know that's what all the angry people are going to come in here ready to yell about.

I'm starting by addressing the perk itself. We all know what it does because there's endless threads about it. From the time you're unhooked, if the killer picks you up again within 60 seconds, you get a chance to hit a skill check and stun the killer. Cool.

There are many perks I would and DO run over that for a number of reasons. DS depends on the playstyle of the killer and only works if they choose to tunnel you instead of going after the 3 other people on the map. And I don't want to hear about "Well, they're just trying to be efficient and tunneling is a good strategy" because I'm not arguing against that. They're fine strategies (despite being boring for the survivor), but I'm just stating facts. I play killer and I know exactly who was just pulled off a hook recently, how many times each person has been hooked, who is on death hook, who I've never seen. Every killer knows that so when someone chooses to go after the same person again, they know what they're doing and we're just going to call it what it is.

Now that being said, here's perks that are better (imo) that DS because YOU control when you use them.

Borrowed Time - BT has its own set of weaknesses but it can get people out of a LOT of bad situations if you play it correctly. You control when it gets used, not the killer.

Kindred - Damn near indispensable in solo Q. Anytime someone gets hooked, you have knowledge of where your team is and what they are doing, and possibly where the killer is located based on hook is running. If you are on the hook, your team gets that knowledge

We'll Make It - Quick heals off of the hook. Both players are back to what they need to do in what... 8 seconds? Idk the exact time but I know it's short.

Inner Strength - Encourages players to take care of totems which helps prevent NOED and works as a pocket save

For the People - A pretty good anti tunnel perk when you pull someone off a hook and instantly use it. The killer either has to make the choice of commiting to the tunnel which would take 2 hits and possibly a long chase, or going after a fresh target. And most people don't expect it so they usually commit to who freshly unhooked person expecting an easy kill.

Saboteur - Map wide hook knowledge, lets you see where hook deadzones are so you can make sabo plays. My SWF friends consistently see me pull these off at least once or twice every game.

Lithe - If window hitboxes ever get fixed, this allows for a pretty good extended chase that a killer might not be expecting and can extend loops

Hell as much as I think it's trash, I might even run Dead Hard for the same reason as Lithe. Only reason I don't use it is because it fails more often than it works

I wish to disagree on what your opinion on DS.

I think it is the strongest perk that can consistantly work (imo i think dead hard is best *when it works*).

When the perk activates, it says that if the killer grabs you 60 seconds after you are hooked, you can stun him for 5 seconds. This sounds fair off what I am seeing.

The problem is how abusable this perk is. While this is active; the survivor is immune from being picked up.

So here is a scenario: the survivor has gotten off hook 20 seconds ago, and you can only find them. They decide to run into a locker. What do you do?

You don't know if they have DS or not. If they do, they are in invincible atm. If they don't, then they are screwed. You have 4 outcomes:

    1. Pick up the survivor and eat the DS. You lose any pressure and can't move for 5 seconds.

    2. Leave the survivor. You lose any pressure you had but can try to gain some a bit sooner.

    3. Pick up the survivor and they don't have DS. Lucky for you.

    4. Wait out the last 40 seconds. You gain no pressures and risk at least 1 gen popping.

I'll be honest, many people don't bluff a out not having DS. Let's just assume they brought DS in the scenario. Then because of 1 perk, the killer will get punished for doing any option.

Another common thing is that survivors will hug a gen if they have an active DS. Killers like to get grabs, as not only does it down a survivor, but pick them up in the same animation. Well, now the killer gets punished for something thats usually super rewarding.

Now let's say a killer just swings and puts them down on a gen. Well, they can't pick the survivor up, even though they let themselves get hit. Now the killer gets punished (less mind you) for doing their main objective. Yeah they are down and not doing anything, but either they wait for the DS to run out, or leave them to be picked up.

Now throw in Unbreakable to the above scenario. Now, the killers options are:

    1. Eat the DS and let them save the unbreakable. Less pressure now for a little more preasure later

    2. Let the use the unbreakable and save the DS. More pressure now but less in the future

    3. Sit there, wait for unbreakable to be used and/or DS to go away.

I dont mind the perk for what it is intended for: tunneling. The main problem is that instead of saying "i have a minute where if I am tunneled, he gets punished", it is "i have a minute of invulnerability." While I understand that it is the surivors job to do the objectives, it sucks to know that ( since they can vet unhooked twice) that is 2 minutes of invulnerability per survivor that brings it, up to a max of 8 minutes. If you solo the gens, that is 400 seconds. If the survivors have 480 seconds of invulnerability total, they can get all the gens done and open the exit gates while still having around 1 DS timer worth of time left. That is w/o calculating kicking gens or ruin or something like that, and saying that survivors aren't doing gens unless they are under the DS effect.

Well, at least this Is why I hate it. I can't speak for all.

    Fuk

  • 1. All 4 gens that are remaining are in the picture

    2. Auras of the doors are revealed.

    Ggez get gud

In all seriousness though, those doors are literally red dots.

  • I partially agree with what you say. I wouldn't agree at all if they didn't do the last gen nerf.

I played a bit of Deathslinger during his ptb, and the very 1st game, they got a gen done so fast: 1. I couldn't see them before I got over to them and 2. Not even the game recognized the gen getting done. It still said 5 gens.

Now, with that update, that isnt possible anymore. And with some game knowledge, you can predict the survivors to apply pressure where needed. And some killers have enough pressure in the chase that they can make up their lack of for the gens (spirit, nurse, Freddy, huntress).

Now, im not gonna say that gen-rush exists, but sometimes there just isn't enough pressure to go around.

If you play another killer (ex: legion, clown) who doesn't have good anything, you have to make up for it in perks and luck. Some killers who are good at chase pressure might do terrible if the map sucks (looking at everyone's favorite map, Ormond and Haddonfield). And every killer's favorite thing of accusing: is the group a SWF or not?.

If we had all standard stuff (a standard killer, a standard map, standard survivors, ext.), we could judge if killers can apply enough pressure or not.

But there isn't a standard. Sometimes killers have ample opportunity (example: hag in midwitch or pyramid head in hawkins), but sometimes killers can't (example: nurse in Hawkins, spirit in Haddonfield or almost all killers on ormond). Heck, as some of my listed stuff, even the best killers can have bad maps where pressure is much harder.

Tl;Dr while killers can "just apply pressure lol", there are situations where it is much harder or impossible to apply enough.

  • while it does look nice, in terms of gameplay, it is much more difficult to see auras of survivors when playing killer. If your not paying attention to bbq, you will miss the the survivors completely. If next to a gen, almost impossible to see.

  • "OH ENTITY, I HOPE IT GAVE ME INSURANCE!"

  • @timbologna said:

Doesn't make sense. I can't help if survivors bring toolboxes and gens fly, but what i can do is secure the kills i have instead of running to the exit gates to see some people crouching. I'm already going against red ranks as a green rank, if you want two people to survive why punish the killer for getting....two kills?

the reason that this happens is that even though the devs want you to get 2 kills, the rank up system doesn't work with killz=skillz. The entity knows damn well that a killer can kill. It is about how they kill, and about how they torture the survivors.

As some people have already pointed out, there are games where the killer got all 4 survivors, or multiple DCs happened, and the killer still depipped. It is dumb, but it happens. Meanwhile, when 2x blood points come out, i will be nice for 2 or 3 matches and farm with survivors, and will usually either almost pip or pip. Because, even though it is staged, the game thinks "man, the survivors are 2 hooks in, and he is getting lots of hits. He did try to defend a couple gens, and he 'chased' quite a bit". Therefore, i pipped on some of those games.

If you get a 4k real fast (let's say it was a billy), the game goes " he got all 4, but didn't have to think about gens, barely did any hits, and only hooked 4 times total. He didn't get many emblems, so he gets a black pip".

Back to my main point: in the end, it isnt about killing, but about torturing survivors.

You can slug all 4 of them and kill them, but that isn't what the game is about. It is about killing the survivors souls little by little, not about killing the survivors as fast as possible.

  • I would say:

    Remove DS

    Remove Noed

Remove and replace the tutorial. It doesn't teach anything about the game.

  • I have had this issue on PC too, but after I got stunned by a pallet, it worked again.

Regarding the chat context: Yup, I camped the everliving crap out of Bill. Why? Because the second I downed him, Nancy came over to sabo the hook, while Meg and Nea tried to heal him, and one of them kept clicking a flashlight so I didn't really bother picking Bill back up right away.

This went on for some time, until I hit enough people that they realized it was a bad idea and gave up. Then Bill got hooked and proceeded to suicide immediately.

So yes, survivors: If you over-commit to saving someone in that situation, you're actually almost guaranteeing their demise. Where else would the killer go in this scenario? In fact, Nancy probably played the biggest part in ensuring Bill's death by sabotaging the hook twice, because had I just hooked him I would have left and the game could have likely moved on.

...or you can just blame the killer and yell at them for playing unfair.

So how are survivors gonna escape?? - 360 gets nerfed, windows and loops taken away. STOP nerfing survivors give us some reason to try at this game because the only way we win is if matchmaking fails and gives noob killers because otherwise every killer below rank 10 knows how to bait and has all the broken add ons. Killers can camp us and we can't do anything about it what possible upper hand do we have?

Alright, I would like to have a calm discussion and either debunk or show my reasoning why I believe each part is incorrect.

    1. Killer claims:

Nurse cannot have 9 blinks, especially now. At most, she can have 3 blinks at the cost of not being able to phase through objects.

Huntress cannot have 9 Hatchets. She can ha e up to 8 though, and up to 3 instadown hatchets (which are dumb) I can't argue about the dumb hit registration.

Wraith's Wallhacks only extend 12 meters. It is powerful, but I think it is fair.

Scratch mirror is a thing, but you forgot about the fact he is slowed to something like 105% movement speed, instead of the 115% Myers is. Yeah, he has wallhacks, but it is only useful on like, 4 maps.

Yeah, Myers can have infinite tier 3, but the amount of stock required for it increases by a LOT! Most games, it will set off once at least 3-4 gets are done.

Killers technically have an auto-aim, and the developers call it "aim dressing" , but 90% of the time, it makes a killer miss their swing instead of actually hitting. In my many times of having it happen, I think I've only had it help 2 times.

Camping. It sucks, i admit. Something needs to be done about that.

    2. Survivor claims:

360s have not been nerfed. They still work the same as ever.

The only windows that have been changed were the "god windows" (the ones that don't have any counterclaim whatsoever). Loops haven't been affected, but it does seem a lot more dead zones keep appearing...

I don't see how survivors "keep getting nerfed" all the time. All the top tier killers since the nurse update have been hit with nerfs. The only killer to get actually buffed (not a quality of life change) was doctor, and his buff came with ruin, which was the only early-game gen-slowing perk killers had (i know you are thinking corrupt, but it doesn't slow down directly). The only real nerf was Balanced Landing, and even though I would rather have seen the maps it was abused on reworked, they went with the easier option to "fix" the maps. I would say toolboxes was overall a nerf, but it wasn't a hard nerf.

While yes, you are right about a few things, I disagree with most of your points.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1247854#Comment_1247854

    Sure.

I dont think that Gens are any problem at all. Gens going too fast means that the Killer does have a poor Map Pressure. This can have multiple reasons, e.g. the Killer player can be just bad. Or the Survivors are too good. But mostly: Maps.

And this got tackled in the recent Patch, at least some of them. Because if the Killer is going on a huge Chase because of the imbalanced Ironworks Window, surely the Survivors will do Gens and the Killer will have bad Map Pressure. Even if he leaves the Chase because the Survivor was running to that Window (which was the smart thing to do), he would have still lost time because he spent at least a few seconds on that chase without any pressure generated from it AND has to spend more time to find another Survivor.

Pressing M1 is the most boring thing a Survivor can do, it even became more boring in this Patch because Great Skill Checks award almost no progress anymore. Sure, more BPs, but nobody cares when they max out Objectives anyway.

So with this Patch, Killers will most likely get shorter Chases, which retults in overall more Pressure. Which is also more fun for both sides since there is more interaction between Killer and Survivor.

Sad thing is that many people seem to think that the games design or a Perk should prevent Gens from being done, but in fact, the "thing" what needs to prevent Gens being done is the Killer. Again, by applying pressure, which got easier with that Patch.

Thank you for the answer. That actually does make a lot of sense when you put it the way you did.
