Please show me where I said that. Oh, you can’t, you have reading comprehension issues.

Hey, there is no need to just insult someone.

Please, I made a comment earlier. Dont just blatantly insult someone. Try and prove your point instead of just insulting.

  • I can agree with this statement. The main question is how to help solos while not helping the swf problem people having. To be honest, maybe a good idea would be to just give swf a nerf in general.

I had an idea on this: for every person in a swf team, that team would suffer a gen progression penalty that increases for each member. Example: for each member, 5% slower regression.

This would also be applied separately, as stacking stuff would be ridiculous if it stacked.

Example: thanataphobia one 4 man swf in this system would only apply to the 80% progression that the swf can do, instead of stacking for a 36% slowdown.

Another example: my original slowdown idea in "share your work". It causes a 20% slowdown to the 80% speed instead of the base speed. 40% slowdown would be dumb.

Idk how good this would be, but I feel for the power of comms, it deserves a drawback.

I am just pitching an idea. Please pitch more ideas if you have any

P.S. man, this conversation has gone far from NOED, hasnt it?

I didn’t say they don’t care about it, I said it wasn’t a priority. If it was, I wouldn’t have been paired up with rank 3 survivors while playing my rank 15/16 killer for two months now.

Its even worse when playing my rank 5 survivors and getting matched up with rank 15-20 killers and easily stomp them. Makes me feel bad because there is usually nothing those killers can do.

Fair enough. Sorry that I misread that.

But honestly, atm, the devs have a LOT on their plate.

I understand that some has been caused by themselves, but still, they are probably trying to work on everything at once.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/123257/i-dont-understand-why-adrenalin-works-with-the-hatch-closing-but-not-rancor

    No they don't actually.

Adrenaline requires the gate to be powered (gates get powered after 5th gen or hatch close)

Rancor requires the FINAL gen to be completed, not the gates to be powered.

    It's confusing, I know

Yeah, as stated in here, that is how it should work. I will try to go into more detail.

With adrenaline, it is stated for when the exit gates are powered. Since the exit gates become powered, adrenaline activates.

With Rancor, it is stated that the last gen must be finished. With closing the hatch, it skips the part about the generators being done, and goes directly to EGC. This is why, I believe, the perk doesn't work. Mainly just an oversight.

I dont mind it personally, but I wouldn't mind it being changed either.

The fact you responded when you said you weren’t shows you’re a hypocrite.

Buffing solo to SWF ≠ Nerfing or changing NOED.

Devs can buff solo without hurting Killer perks, which is what your are basically asking for with removing the speed buff or adding a totem counter.

Survivor players also have the option to discuss strategy before hitting ready. You can educate them about NOED and Hex totems. That’s how I learned about Ruin. They can ask one person to bring in small game or a map. But for you and your new survivor friends, that’s apparently too much. You need the game to count for you, and you need the game to show you the hidden objectives rather than actually try to find them.

It’s like you want to play hide n seek but only where the ones hiding(totems) are glowing and you can see the glow through objects and walls.

The game isn’t supposed to be a walk in the park for new players. They’re supposed to struggle to get better, and if they don’t, ranking should keep them from getting matched with better players.

Unfortunately, ranking and matchmaking doesn’t seem like it’s a priority for the Devs.

Mainly will say that I disagree with the last point about devs not caring about the matchmaking.

They did say, in the Q&A, that they would be working on matchmaking over the next couple of weeks.

I do believe that it is long overdue, but they did say they were working on it.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

It's 5 totems. Seems like a good idea.

If it is 5, then I would stick to the original 4% regression idea.

  • Holy crap, I didnt realize how popular my post would get. There are 2 quick things unrelated that I wanna mention.

    1. For everyone here, I am seeing a lot of disagreements. Totally fine to disagree, but it seems to also have an insult at whoever it is being said to. A lot has been said towards @Waffleyumboy and @Peanits some. No need to throw insults at him, and no need for him to insult back. If you didn't insult him and I read it like that, I am sorry for the misconceptions. If you, waffle, didn't insult anyone and I read it as such, i am sorry for that also. I might not agree with what he says on every post, but that doesn't mean he should have insults thrown at waffle or from him, and for peanuts, I havent seen any insults, only ideas, so dont insult him please.

    2. I see I caught the attention of @Peanits. May I ask of you check my submission for a core mechanic idea. I put it under "Share Your Work"

  • @Brucecastro81 said:

Just need to reduce a lil bit the penalty

Alright, maybe 3.5% each, for a total of 21 percent (I believe it is 6 totems in the game)

They wanna nerf pop, thana and some others as they are "obnoxious" when used together

I personally did not hear that. I heard something about how pop, thana and surge dont have much synergy, but are now more backups than combos.

I mean, I could have missed something. Please, inform me if I am wrong.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    It’s B.S.

    Here’s an idea:

Add 1-2 more gens on the big maps, and make survivors have to repair 7.

    Problem solved.

I dont personally think that would be a good idea I get the concept, but that would be quite a big jump. Adding an extra 40% of objectives to survivors would be to much (being kinda serious here).

However, I do not agree with what they said about letting 2 generators go.

Honestly, it is implying that you should set up a 3-gen setup. "You have 3 generators that need to be completed before the exit gates are opened? Just let the 2 far ones go"

I get the idea of it is to put more pressure in 1 area, but that strategy should be a last resort, not a thing you plan for near the beginning.

  • @TruffleTurtle said:

Honestly many people on the forums are just being so rude and nasty its heart breaking. Everyone is going off how they are survivor sided. The only thing I believe that is upon their fault was the wording in the developer notes. Every other problem they've gave an explanation for.

The ruin change was something that upset many people because a mass amount of people used it. People are complaining because their games are done too fast. I get the argument that u cant get to a gen before its completed, but how many times has that truly happened to you? Or is everyone saying that because it happened to somebody they were watching. Everyone please take a moment and consider all the games. People only tend to remember the bad ones. As a whole of this game really that bad atm? People have been playing without ruin before, why cant you? I used to use ruin but I've had to learn to play differently. All the unnecessary hate is really uncalled for.

One of the things i hate the most is when people berate the devs like @Peanits and @Almo. Saying how they dont know how to play their game. Have u guys even seen them play before. I havent seen almo truthfully but peanits is pretty good and knows what hes talking about. Everyone acts like they dont know their own game and are bad.

All in all can we please make the forums a better place. There are too many posts about "nerf survivor they have ds,adrenaline dh". Instead of bashing out people and the devs, give constructive criticism where a peaceful discussion can take place. It is those posts they tend to take feedback from and reply to. I probably will get a lot of hate for this but the amount of negativity in this forum os shameful.

I do agree with some of your statements. Yes, I wish the forums would be a better place. I would say I am more sided with the killer POV, but when I am disagreeing with someone, I try to bring up the past updates, videos, ect with my argument, not just be pissy and say stuff like "your trash, git gud".

But, the main thing I do disagree with is the the hate that people are giving to the devs. Not all of them are bad, mind you, but the approaches they have taken are starting to backfire in the community.

For a time, there have been problems on both sides of the spectrum, and instead of trying to fix it in the game, they give a perk for it instead. A couple examples are:

    Camping: borrowed time

    Tunneling: DS

    Lots of pallets: spirit fury

    Slower killers: PWYF

There are more, but I just wanted to give a small sample.

Well, against solo survivor teams, I agree that this is alright.

But for swf, the only really good slowdown perk was ruin (for early game), and now there is nothing that 90% of killers can do. Billy is the only killer, IMO, that can apply any early game pressure atm. Not even Nurse can do it as well.

Killers have been begging for something, but ruin was the only thing they had. Now, there isnt anything. On top of that, after the community put in feedback for the PTB, one of the devs made a post saying that killers are wrong, and on another post agreeing with someone saying that killers that use ruin aren't good enough to be in red ranks.

I agree that constructive criticism is needed to the community, but I do not feel bad on some of the dev team.

Word of mouth is the best seller so I thought it would be interesting to ask would you recommend DBD in its current state to a friend? Outright no? Outright yes? Or would you say yes but ...

I'd yes if you're going to play survivor with a friend, straight up no if you want to be a beginner Killer right now.

You see, I have been talking with my friends about this for a little.

For the last few months, i have been encouraging my friends to join me in the adventures of the fog. I have been decently lonely traveling, only meeting people on the basis of either killing them or surviving till the match ends. I have a few friends that play, but they were the toxic ones beforehand.

Now with this last patch, my friends are starting t ok be like " hey, I'm thinking about getting the game, and I know you wanted me to play", but I tell them to not at this moment. I do not want their 1st experience in this game be at the worst it has been since I have joined, and in one of it's most shambled states.

Short answer: no, I cannot recommend it. In fact, I've either told them to wait, or think about a different game until the toxicity calms down from both sides.

  • I have been enjoying oni also. I do personally wish that he could turn a little more, but for now,ni will be happy with him as is.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Survivor perks are definitely much weaker than killer perks. Besides, perks aren't the reason people buy killers.

There aren't many examples, but I think most people bought letherface for bbq and hag for old ruin. I got lucky and got them at the shrine, but I seriously was planning to get hag just for old ruin.

I agree, I did briefly touch it in point 1 and reduced /absent sounds are a problem indeed. Thanks for the contribution

Sorry, I didnt realize you mentioned the sounds. Thank you for mentioning that.

I will say, at first, I really didnt believe that. I thought they weren't balancing around the right area, but they weren't doing it for the brand new players.

But since they literally say in the ruin changes "the ruin currently is to frustrating against NEWER survivors", this literally states that this is for them.

  • @CaptainSkel said:

I'm pretty new to the game, only rank 14 or so and I've had a series of really frustrating games in a row. I keep getting paired up against survivors a much higher rank than me. Gens get done within a few minutes no matter what I try to do.

I don't believe I'm playing incorrectly. I end chases pretty quickly and I don't overcommit when they're going long. But no matter what I do, gen after gen pops and the game ends within a few minutes. I look at the survivors and they all have hundreds more hours than I do.

After one particularly rough game one of the survivors told me to think of this experience as training but honestly I'm starting to see this as encouragement to just stop playing. I really liked this game when I first started playing. I would read the forums, post on the subreddit, create fanart, all that. But actually playing it quickly started to feel stressful instead of fun. Games go really quickly and as a killer I don't feel I have enough options to interact with the survivors. When the game ends I see all the survivors are rank 7 or below and half the time they're insulting me.

I read about the ruin changes and they talked about how they were making the change for new survivors but honestly this game is really discouraging as a new player who wanted to play killer.

I'm not making this post just to whine but because I wanted to make my experience known to the devs. I know other people have made similar complaints in more eloquent ways, I just wanted to add my voice to the stack.

Yeah, it is pretty bad now.

I used to say to my friends stuff like:

"Yo, this is a fun game" "it might look challenging, but once you get used to it, it is enjoyable" "I'll buy you a DLC if you get the game"

Now, I tell them that, atm, this game isn't worth getting into, unless they wanna do a swf (again, these are BRAND NEW players, so swf would be harder for me). I just don't want their first experience make them never want to come back.

    Good morning forum,

I want to spend some time to address and give some feedback regarding the latest update.

I want this to be a civil and polite conversation, so if you are looking to start flaming please refrain from joining the conversation.

I am an experienced ps4 asymmetrical game player. I have clocked in just in 2019 around 1000 hours in dbd and around 300 on Friday the 13th.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/611/U5EW9Y4QREDG.png

I just want to give feedback in 3 areas that are making my experience worse :

1 survivors' movements have become somehow sharper, faster. It is hard to describe but I'm missing hits I would normally hit. I hope something will be done about the issue. I never had this problem before. This is also made worse by the absence of sound, footsteps and noise by some downed survivors

2 I agree with ruin being changed, it is honestly annoying to play vs but also to lose it quickly in the match. Although I feel there needs to be an urgent action regarding map size and map balance. It is hard to pressure gens with 4.6 killers and losing a gen before you can reach it is disheartening and increases the stress of the killer's experience.

3 nurse : she lost all the fun from her game and the new addons are not really meaningful. Most of them are just for a meme build and they don't really help you. The cooldown with her current walking speed feels like a heavy punishment, especially in console (ps4 pro plus gaming monitor). I believe something needs to be done to improve the experience.

Thank you for your time and have a good day.

    @Almo @Peanits

I would like to add 1 more. Idk if this is general, but this isat least a PC issue.

    4. Sounds balancing. When I am not in a chase, it is honestly a good experience. When I am in a chase, I cannot hear anything. I have lost survivors in multiple chases because I cannot hear them, even if they do not have iron will.

listing to yourself? in what world do good killers ever leave 4 ppl on a gen. If this happens to you often run discordance or something.. I don't know what else to say hear because there is no convincing people about their own skill levels. Being good at other games doesn't naturally apply to being good at DBD. I urge you to solo queue survivor and record your average escape ratio and post it here. Let us know how easy it is to play survivor because it's so unfair apparently. Let's see that easy mode rank 1

Ok, I would like to rebuttle.

I cant find the video, but there was a twitch clip that Space Coconut (small DBD youtuber) showed on his channel. It was a huntress player who, at the start of the game, decides she was gonna patrol the gens. She started walking from where she spawned to the other side of the map. By the time she was close (25 seconds or so into the game), the generator was done.

She ran strait there too. She only looked to her sides when passing the other gens.

She probably had another 5 or so seconds to go before a survivor was close enough to be in melee, so most killers wouldn't have been able to do anything too. Really, only billy would have been able to get there fast enough.

I'll keep looking for the video, but what do you do in that situation?

  • Uhhhh, I dont have a bubba...

    Does billy count?

  • @Okapi said:

Their isn't enough purple and red rank killers for the ammount of survivors in those ranks so the game has to match some high rank survivors with low rank killers.

It's not the fault of the MM but the fault of player demographics. Somehow the devs need to do something so their are more high rank killers.

Maybe make it easier to pip as killer?

I know they worked on the gatekeeper emblem, but now that it is much harder to pressure early vame gens, it is basically the same. I had a game where I had 1 bad chase, and barely got a black pip.

Well the funny thing is...I never said survivors weren't babies. I just called killers the biggest babies. Mostly for clickbait, but there is an ounce of truth. If you look at the gameplay from the game's inception until now you've seen that killer has gotten some major adjustments and survivors have gotten continuously nerfed. Also survivors are forced to adapt to the playstyle of the killer, not the other way around. The killer is control of the game and anyone that thinks otherwise is foolish. Survivors only have the ability to take control when you let them. Like in the case of committing way too long to one survivor.

In response to your three questions:

    1) You're right, but the ranking system is busted anyway so why do you care about ranks? I don't. They mean nothing. Ditch your mentality that a good rank is the goal and you'll be set free. Ranks. Mean. Nothing. Just play the game and get your 4k and make the game fun for yourself.

    2) This is subjective, It's not always going to be about fun, either. Sometimes you just gotta do what it takes to win. It's not all peaches and cream for survivors, either. I personally don't like saving survivors that get downed, but I often find myself doing it.

    3) As I've stated before in this thread, if you leave your messages on public or choose to participate in post-game chat I have little empathy for you.

    You know what, fair enough.

You have made your points, and I have made mine.

In the end, we do agree on some things, and others we do not.

I have seen a lot of pretty rude comments from others. No need to be rude. Just try to back your points. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it doesn't mean that you're is wrong.

  • Tbh, I would miss it. I have enjoyed the many matches I have played. Some more than others.

It just sucks that this game took a few bad turns, and it is looking like it wont last much longer.

  • @Orionbash said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1019535#Comment_1019535

You can say that, but a lot of survivor nerfs have happened as well so I fail to see your point. If you look at the state of the game when it first came out compared to now, survivors have kinda taken a beating.

There are definitely some killers that need to be reworked. Like Clown. But some killers definitely needed a nerf, too. Spirit moves so fast in her phasing ability that it didn't really take much to find survivors with collision and just whack 'em. I still get destroyed by Spirits. I think it was a fair trade-off in that case.

I 100% disagreed with the Oni nerf and thought Oni was trash upon release. The only survivors that fail against him are those that are too altruistic or gen happy.

As for Nurse, I dunno. I play on PS4 and Nurses on console just can't compare to the horror stories I've heard of Nurses on PC. I can't comment on this one.

Obviously if you don't agree with something, like you and I have both done here, you can feel free to voice your opinions and if BHVR agrees they'll implement it into the game. Nothing is ever set in stone anyway. But I just think a lot of killers were too used to one specific style of play and can't fathom the idea of having to adapt to anything else.

Alright. That is fair. Nurse and spirit were, and still are, powerful. Some things do need to change.

But I will rebuttle with this:

You said that "but some killers definately needed a nerf, too". But what about survivors?

I agree with what you said. Compared to at launch, survivors have taken a beating. But if nurse and spirits nerfs were necessary, then survivor's ability to infinate at 2 windows and pallet vacuum were just as needed.

I agree that people like clown and pig need a buff completely.

The only problem is, this doesn't answer the original question.

So, I must ask. If survivors are allowed to complain about problems they find in the game, why is it that killers are considered babies, in your opinion, if they complain about ruin?

Also, a quick answer for the playstyle thing you were talking about. Yes, killers can slug and set up a 3-gen scenario, but there are 3 issues with that:

    1. While playing killer, the game does not reward people for playing like that.

    2. Slugging and 3-gening is not a fun way to play for either killer or survivor.

    3. People in the community complain about killers doing stuff like that. This causes a mentality that you shouldn't play that way.

  • I shall respect your opinion, and the fact that you can think as you wish. However, I do not have the same opinion as you.

There has been a lot of talk beforehand about when nurse was to good, and that it was unfair to go against her, and she was worked on.

There was the time, right after, where spirit was now to good for the game, as her power had no counter play to it, and she was changed.

People complained about Oni's flick being to powerful, and then that has was changed, and now it is at a semi-old state.

So survivors complained about all these killers, and they all got changed.

Many killers, as you have seen in the past few weeks, aren't very happy with this ruin. Why is it ok for survivors to complain, but not killers?

  • Alright, I'm going to try and put my opinion in the argument.

Billy is a balanced killer. If you want to, you can stop reading, but you will miss my reasonings.

These reasons will be treated as if you are playing base billy (no addons)

As a former billy main, here are my reasons for why he isnt as strong as you say (sorry if these were said already):

    1. His insta-downs are only good if billy either out-positions you, or he gets right behind you after you try to fake the pallet drop.

    2. In a loop, he does not have anything to slow you ou down, or prevent you from putting down the pallet (ex. Freddy snails, doc shock pre-patch, hag and tapper's traps)

    3. His ability to go around the map is amazing, but you know who it is immediately after he starts. You will know when he gets closer with it.

    4. Him bumping into the terrible collision of the game(both survivor and killer have this issue, I understand) cause him to be stunned for multiple seconds, giving you time to get away.

These are just a few things. Now, here are some good things about him:

    1. Insta-downs are good

    2. His insane mobility for the map

    3. His first second of drifting after the saw is used is good for turning the corners

Yeah, the idea of him curving a corner sounds strong, and it is, but you ok only have about 1 second to get your curve before you barely move in a strait line.

He has good strengths, but he also has some basic killer issues of being looped.

I would say maybe he isnt exactly balanced. Maybe he is a little bit better than balanced, but not OP PLZ NERF kind of better. I would put him as either the 6th or 7th best killer, switching around with huntress.

If you care about the others, I will put on a list of my top 5 killers at their best IMO

    1. Nurse

    2. Spirit

    3. Ghost

    4. Wraith

    5. Freddy

Because for a majority of the medium tier killers, I think they can all be considered to be equally good in their own regards (demogorgon, billy, huntress, doctor pre-patch).

Real quick, honorable mention to medium tier killers being plague and hag. I think they can be amazing, but it is such a crap-shoot on how you do with them.

  • Hate to say my guy, but you wont see the aura reading.

I always make that mistake with bbq

  • Rule #202

If a survivor disconnects from the game, and it is because of the killer doing something that is "fair", the killer can ignore the killer rule #32 of having to farm, but may still follow the rule if need s/he wants to.

You make fair points, but it’s still not my point.

Yes, if you’re teammates are in the proximity then it’s their fault you’re being camped.

Pips/Rank are not team-based. it’s how you perform individually.

Yes, your team benefits from a killer tunneling you. Yes, the killer is penalized for tunneling you, if your team escapes.

However, you are penalized for being tunneled.

Example: I played a game where I was tunneled as soon as the match started. I tapped a gen and the killer came to me. Me and my teammate both split. The killer came to me. (killer has ruin and Thanatophobia so progression is slowed already) I mistakenly hit a tree, I got hit. I manage to get distance thanks to the boost. The killer catches up, I DH. Exhausted. I manage to put distance on me and the killer. He catches up, downs me. Hooks me. He leaves. I get unhooked, killer immediately comes back, hits me. BT kicks in. My teammate tries to body block. He hits my teammate so my teammate scurries away. He tunnels me. Bam, 1 gen pops, 2 pops (maybe). Hooks me. I’m now on Struggle with maybe 2-3 minutes into the game. Killer leaves again. My teammate unhooks me, killer immediately comes back, downs me again. 3-4 gens popped. I get hooked, dead. Post-game award? No. I get de-pipped and awarded maybe 5k BP.

Now, tell me where that’s fair? I was innocent. Didn’t troll the killer, never had a chance to work on a gen, rescue a teammate, break totems, heal teammates etc. so it resorts in the game thinking I was not helping my team.

Alright, you do make a point. I can see that. I do agree that it isnt very fun, and I am sorry that it happened to you.

I don't feel that killers should change the punishments though for that, but I do think a survivor should be rewarded for being chases multiple times. At minimum, a safety. Maybe something like....

Award for being tunneled off the hook: ____ points.

I agree that the 1 survivor shouldn't suffer for a killer who does that.

However, did your team hook-bomb or grab almost immediately? I could see the killer doing that in those scenarios.

TL;DR: survivor shouldn't be punished for a killer tunneling them, and killer is already punished enough IMO. Did your team possibly unhook you in front of the killer?

  • Ok, I tried to read every post to get caught up, bit I couldn't do it. So if something is repeated, I am sorry. Also typing on phone.

Skip to paragraph 5 if you want to read my thoughts on the matter

So, @LustForBP, this post is about how some killers tunnel and camp survivors. Now, from what I read, there were some people who were getting mad about your ideas, and I will try to be neutral.

As of right now, before we actually get started, let me explain where I am coming from. I am currently a rank 11 survivor and a rank 13 killer, mainly because I havent played as much recently. Been enjoying GTA and Persona5. But, i have gotten both survivor and killer to rank 7. If i could have afforded more time, i feel like i could have gotten survivor to red ranks, and killer to lower purple ranks. Although, because matchmaking sucks, I have faced quite a few 4 man swf, with at least 2 red ranks, that knew how to play at green ranks. So I guess what I am saying is that rank doesn't matter to me at this point. I admit though, I play more survivor than killer, because I am usually stressed while playing killer, but as a solo survivor, I feel like I am less stressed. I used be be a claudette, but moved to jake as a survivor, and mainly play GF and Demo as killer, but like to dabble in other killers from time to time.

    Alright, my argument...

So you say that you think it is unfair that killers tunnel and camp. The main issue between my ideas and your ideas is that you define tunneling as someone who chases you for a long time and after hooks. The after hooks part I agree, but I define the other part as committing to a chase. I am going to be using my terms for my explanation.

Like I said earlier, I do agree with your definition of camping.

I do agree that camping and tunneling isnt exactly the fairest thing to do. Being chased off hook and having the killed around you till you are struggling or even dead. But, this does punish the killer in 2 ways.

    1. Killer will lose BP and will get less on the emblem ranking system for this.

    2. The rest of the survivors are free to do as they want.

The feel of the post is that you are talking about a 1v1 scenario. Lots of people do it. Yeah, I agree that tunneling and camping is abused against 1 survivor. The rest of your team, however, could abuse this to finish every generator and escape. This is a team-oriented game after all. What are the other survivors doing during the time you are camped?

Another question is proxy camping. What if 2 other survivors are close by, and the killer has bbq? If the killer knows that most of the team is nearby, wouldn't s/he want to deal with 3 survivors not doing anything, or get the 1 doing something, and having the rest quickly back in the game?

Also, isn't it a good thing to be chased for a while? Like I said a couple paragraphs ago, if you can chase a killer for 5 minutes, and then he camps you, the rest of your team should be guaranteed an escape. Idk how you de-pip from that, as you should be rewarded for that. Unless the team is not doing any gens period.

Now at the end of the game, if the killer doesn't have any kills, or only 1 kill, i could see the idea for trying to confirm a kill. At that point, you just want to safety. At this point, all of the other survivors would probably pip, so unless they decided to not do generators.

I know there were other things said between you and others, but I am just focusing on the main topic.

    TL;DR

Is tunneling and camping justified at the beginning of the match?: I think so.

Is tunneling justified?: only if it is the end of the game, I understand.

Is camping justified?: yes in circumstances.

Is tunneling and camping unpunished?: only if the team isn't doing the objective.

This is my opinion. Feel free to rebuttle.

  • Ok, you made me laugh.

    Take my upvote

  • Well, the main reason you lose points is because you have to skip a hook.

Also, this means less chases, and less stuff in general to gain points from

I do agree that it is a bit harsh. I feel like it should be a black pip.

  • Yeah, I can understand. It is tough being a killer that has to deal with the far-to-common 4 man SWF group.

But I do agree with some people on here. Being toxic back just makes survivors want to be more toxic. Then you want to be more toxic, and it just creates a circle of toxicity.

I will also say that good on you for playing nurse. I just started to learn her, and i have always thought this, and I will say it now, she is truly difficult.

I hope that the game doesn't keep giving you swf at red ranks.

  • Alright, time to join the emotional boiling pot in here.

I already made my own post on this topic. I won't go into detail here, but if you wish to read it, here it is: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/112352/oh-look-another-oni-rant-blah-blah-blah#latest

I am going to lean towards the nerf not being a good thing. Before i hear yays and boos, please let me explain.

In a normal match with solo que survivors, the survivors do not have much information without using perks to help out. This, in turn, makes:

Looping less optimally (higher chance to run into more players)

Higher chance for hex totem perks to stay up

Better chances of people making mistakes

Less information for each person to use in general

Overall, there might be some coordination, but it will be far less frequently. Even a killer like clown should be able to get some use.

Now, let's take the best survivors and put them in a sed with comms. Welp, they will be super coordinated, make the best decisions, loop you around efficiently, and probably break ruin in 30 seconds and do gens when not in a chase.

I am not saying that it is a bad thing that survivors do this. It is their objective, as a team, to escape. The problem is that some killers just dont have enough in their kit to do anything about it. Some killers have to have survivors make mistakes in order to get kills.

Well, what does this have to do with oni?

The main thing that killers mostly get slow down from is their lethality. The Oni's ability was quite lethal, as you had room to try and adjust your angle when striking at a survivor during demon dash. Well, now he has lost that room for adjustment. If the survivor attempts to joke him by moving perpendicular to him, well, the oni has no way of hitting that. His power is, imo, worse than Hillbilly now.

It really sucks when you try your best, but because the game is feeling like it is getting more balanced to a 1v1, and that the balance tends to go towards the solo-que side (even though there feels like there are about as much swf as there is solo-que survivors), the overall game is getting survivor sided.

Alright I will stop my rant on the subject. If you have any criticism, I would be glad to hear it.

  • I got an idea.

Someone mentioned above to remove the sprint burst, and make it make it with where it just has the stagger reduction all the time.

That would be a good idea, but then it would still bring back the haddonfield infinite. And BHVR doesn't want to fix that rn.

Compromise: we do the patch mentioned above, but the stagger reduction is lessened. That way, no infinates, and you still get a use for it besides the 1st time.

I mean, they did it to enduring. They can do it again.
