Alright, I will take what you said at face value. If it is a bait, I'm caught.
I would like to disagree with your post.
Yes, some killers are quite strong. Freddy is probably the 2nd strongest besides nurse when her hugs aren't showing.
Yes, some killers do have OP addons
Yes, they can camp and tunnel
In a 1v1 situation, killers are OP
But the point isnt to 1v1 a killer. It is to give enough time to teammates to get gens done. If survivors are spread out on different gens (aka doing gens) and are able to do 30 second chases at least, then the no killer can really stop all of them. Not even the nurse.
I'm guessing you have teammates that aren't very gen productive.
Edit: I will agree that rank doesn't matter anymore, because I deranked to rank 17 as killer and after multiple matches I'm still getting paired with red ranked survivors.
Edit 2: when I mean deranked, I mean I took a break for a while, and I went from being rank 8 or 9 to rank 17.

"I got threatened in a video game." I am sure they'll put their best men on it and work double shifts until they find them. Where is Sgt. Friday when you need him? This is the city...I carry a badge. Sure...good luck with that.
Oh, ok. That was blown out of proportion.
OP probably isnt used to being threatened as badly as that. For most people playing this game, that is normal. I understand that the threat has no meaning, but there are 2 things wrong with this:
1. In a day where people can track addresses with an IP address, there is a genuine reason to be afraid. I've had it happen to me before.
2. You had 0 reasons to be rude to this person. That's why someone said "don't be that guy".
For OP, I would say that, like others said, it probably isn't someone who can track your IP to your house.
If you feel like you want to, but don't think that you will he noticed, here is an article of someone making a threat to shoot up a school online and getting arrested:
A 15-year-old student was arrested in Central Florida on Friday after authorities said he made an online threat to shoot up his school.I've also had people recently make online joke threats about shooting up my old high school. They were not arrested, but were expelled.

i am on ps4 and some hours ago i tried to find a match as a survivor .It took 12 minutes and I hadn't had patience anymore and I switched to play as killer.it took 5 seconds and it found me a full lobby. Why does it take so long as a survivor to find a match?
Well, you have to have 1 killer and 4 survivors to play killer. Let's just say, for example, there are 95 survivors and 5 killers. That means only 25% of people can play, while the other have to wait to find another killer.
Basically, what I am saying is people dont want to play killer. Most would rather deal with a solo-que team than dealing with 4 people who will probably be higher ranked and lots more hours. I also have a hypothesis that swf teams get priority over solos. This could also be an issue.

Alright, I took about 30 minutes and read through most of the comments. I saw a lot from @MPUK defending themselves. I guess I should do some explaining myself, since I saw a good amount of stuff about "what OP was thinking"
Yes. I do like otz as a youtuber.
Yes. I was using otz as a basis of the argument. I've seen him as a youtuber who tries to make the best of things, and I let my emotions of him get the better of me in the argument. To that, I am sorry about that. I shouldn't be just using as part of the main basis.
Do I encourage this behavior in this scenario: not really. I dont think otz should have DC'd in terms of the gaming experience. In terms of how he felt after that, he knew that his stream would be miserable, and I respect him for ending it early.
now, for all of @MPUK claims I saw that i should answered.
As someone has mentioned earlier, otz was mentioned as someone who if they quit, then there is an issue. About the same as if, for example, a surgeon were to say "oh shiz" during a surgery. He is obviously not as important as a surgeon, but for the dnd community, I feel like, to me, he has earned that kind of feeling. Hence why I titled this subject "even otz...".
I don't believe he quit just because of the missed hit. I agree with the others who said it was the icing on the cake. I believe that he has had enough of the bugs himself. If it was just because of the bugs then, I think he should have finished the match and then been done.
But let's just throw otz out of the argument. The fact that there are glitches for MONTHS that still havent been fixed are ridiculous. Not to mention that other glitches have been in the game for over a year (I believe nurse's blink glitch is over a year old as an example. If not, It has been in for almost a year) and still dont get fixed. Meanwhile, fixing a glitch that is survivor sided gets hotfixed in a week or 2 at most (both good and bad glitches).
It was wrong for me to try to use otz as clickbait. The point is that there are LOTS of bugs in this game, and almost no bugs get fixed. I dont want this to turn into a war of "survivors vs killers" or anything.
In general, I just want them to fix these bugs. Some literally break the game. I had the bug that made a survivor get stuck on the hook, forcing either me or the 2 survivors left to DC. I DCd because I thought it would be better to let just me lose out than for 2 people to lose out. In the same game, I had a glitch that prevented me from picking up blood orbs as oni, very similar to how nurse cant blink.
Also, I know @MPUK said something about how they are sick of seeing clips constantly. The reason why, I believe, is because people started asking for evidence. Now people are using clips as said evidence.
P.S. I know I only call out MPUK for this post, but since they were the most prevalent in the posts, I only really remembered their name. Not trying to call them out.

First off, Thank you @SpaceCoconut for giving us the video.
I have seen a good amount of criticism in the chat here, but remember what he said: he kinda lost hope in the match after that 3 gen pop.
Did he have a decent 4 gen: yes
Could he have looped a differen/better target: yes
Are your criticisms of his gameplay valid: I can agree
But like he said. He kinda lost hope afterwards. Clouded judgement afterwards led to the "just 1 kill" mentality of the match. It looked like he just wanted it to be over, but was still gonna play somewhat.
Is this what DBD is all the time: no
Does it feel like it is becoming the norm: honestly, yes.
Most of the games I play tend to have at least 1 gen done quick. I dont have video proof, but I legit had a gen done in the first 15 seconds of a match in the ptb with deathslinger. It was 4 people on 1 gen with 2 toolboxes. Worst part was that I immediately started walking there as soon as I could. I literally had 0 chance to stop that as deathslinger.
What is my point of the post? Please go a bit easy on him. It's hard to keep playing perfect when all you wanna do is leave.

So if you've seen this....you realise it's a prime example of what people mean when they say generators go to fast right? In the minute twenty five before the clip this killer was doing its job. Chasing people. He had a slowdown perk like most people say to run if you don't want gens to pop like mad...but what's the point in running it if in the time it takes to get 1 hook and starting 1 chase 3 gens pop? Even if he'd ran corrupt intervention it wouldn't have stopped gens from going to fast, because only 3 are blocked. And you can't chase and pressure gens at the same time, because you have to follow the survivor they could lead you away from the remaining gens which means your forced to let them go...making them essentially invulnerable.
And yet....there's people saying that this is completely fine. They say thing like "oh bet you got a 4k" or "show us the first min and 25".
Firstly. I heavily doubt he got anything more than 1 kill. Because while he's chasing that nea it gives the other two time to pump out those last 2 gens. They can leave that person on the hook and it'd be advantageous to them.
Secondly we know exactly what happened in The 1st min and 25 . The player found a survivor, got looped for a while. And then got a hook, your standard average killer gameplay...
And yet people are trying to straw man this into "this player wants to 4k every single match".
Because they can't argue that this is fair
This is why survivor ques are so long and why everyone plays either Freddy or a mobility killer : because most killers don't have the resources to deal with this nor an early game to prevent it .
I remember hearing otz saying that only the old nurse could come back from having all 4 survivors heal with adrenaline at the end of the game. I doubt even in her prime she could've dealt with this....then again this might've never happened under her because her chase times were so low.
Ugh, that does hurt to see, but i am going to have to agree with the other comments in this.
I do understand the point, showing how gens are popping like crazy, but it is an 8 second clip. If it showed the supposed other 1.5 minutes of space patrolling around and foing a chase, and this still happened, then I would 100% agree. The problem is we don't know the first 1:25 of the game. He could have been afk for the first minute, he could have done a chase, or literally solved an equation to win a Nobel prize. There is a 99.9% chance he wasn't solving an equation, but we don't know.
I do believe that it is true, he did do his job. Bit without the evidence of the first minute and 25 seconds, this cannot count as evidence.
@SpaceCoconut can you please, if you have it, show us the minute and 25 seconds beforehand. They do need to see it.

Everything below Rank 16 is basically a Safe Zone where only new players will be present. So that people who would like to derank to have super-easy games (like you, apparently) cannot farm Newbies.
I wish I could say it is, but it isnt.
I took a break for a few weeks and came back after rank reset. As a rank 17 killer, I'm still facing red ranked survivors.
Shows how good it is at stopping new players from going against experienced players.

and it’s still an issue After toolbox nerf? I don’t think so. If they’re doing gens too fast for you now then that means you’re not doing gen control well enough. Besides, why should it take an hour to do a gen while you’re running around mowing people down? Survivors took a heavy toolbox hit. Survivors have to do gens in a particular order so they don’t leave themselves with 3 gens back to back and screw themselves. They don’t need to be slower trust me.
All I said was the forums have said this a lot. I never said anything about the balance of the game itself.
-
Finally, a strong killer!
Seriously though, sorry my dude. Hope that he gets banned. I hope you reported him.

So with DeathSlinger his Reel in hit will prog certain perks.
I was cool with this until something occurred to me why does this count as a basic.
When Pig's ambush or Legion's Frenzy doesn't.
Death Slinger has to use his power and then actively reel in people to get the hit.
In the same vein that pig has to Crouch and actively ambush to get the him.
Legion has to activate frenzy and lunge to get the hit.
So my main question is what exactly is used to determine what's a power based hit and what's a basic attack.
Why aren't Amanda's ambush and Legion's frenzy considered basic attacks or at least partial basic attacks but Zombie Mcree's reel in is
To answer, here is my hypothesis.
As Amanda uses m2, she goes into the "ambush" state. She has a different animation and a longer lunge.
Legion goes into a "frenzy" state, causing his attacks to be given a "deep wound status" ability.
For Deathslinger, I believe he doesn't gain the status, but survivors do. They get inflicted with a hidden semi-exposed status affect, and it give you deep wounds if
1. The chain breaks and stuns the killer.
2. You hit them with a basic attack 1 second or so after he manually breaks the chain.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1163052#Comment_1163052
Take this thread as an example. I wanted to make the point that killers should have an early game so they have time to settle into the match and set up while saying your average player can't deal with 1 gen being done in 27 seconds. Hence I linked a video to show this so people wouldn't say "YoU HaVe No PrOof".
And around 90% of the comments are basically : "HE got a 4k so why are YOU complaining"
Or
"I'm going to try to get you banned because I don't agree with your opinion"
While this behaviour is exactly the things people point to when they say the dbd community is one of the worst..that's a different thread to be made by a different person who possibly studies psychology or sociology
there's some that actually read the original post ...as there always is. But It's worse than my previous thread where it was simply asking for an early game while making the endgame a little weaker. And the only major difference in the two is that one of them had a linked video.
Linking videos to provide a visual stimulus to your point shouldn't be looked down upon, and to respond to the oh so common reply of "they got a 4k" - of course they did. They wouldn't upload a 2k or a 1k because that doesn't make for interesting content. The survivor "equivalent" is cutting to the next game after you die or escape. Nobody cares about how the rest of the game goes they're only interested in the content creator playing.
I read the post here. Yeah, devs are bad! Killee gud!

I think if anything killers need a nerf :(
you guys get your 4Ks way too easy in my opinion due to laggy unfair hits and piss poor map design on some maps. You’re gonna get somebody every game. Idk why that means game over for that guy though 😰 that kinda pisses me off as a consumer. If it’s easy for you to catch people they should be giving you more chances. None of this Mori crap. Some killers just catch you off guard or cut the corner tighter than you 😂 I mean.... as if camping hooks wasn’t bad enough they throw in Mori so you should probably just DC you know? Like that’s really how some people feel. Idk what there is to complain about on killer side THAT often. Some killers are just better than others at map control. Others just benefit more on certain maps. But I don’t think you should be complaining about a perk nerf 😂 Ruin isn’t really fair either. Otherwise you’re essentially allowed to gen patrol hard and they just can never get done. Especially with the toolbox nerf. You got thanatophobia out there, all these other perks that sync with it..... ehhh. I think a nerf is the least of your worries

When a killer gets gen rushed its because the survivors are toxic swf tryhards
But when a killer 4ks in 2 minutes its becuase the survivors made a lot of mistakes
This point is used alot on the fourms
What i understand from this point is that every killer player is perfect and never make mistakes
Can someonw please explain why people think this is a good argument?
Here is my theory:
Many toxic survivors in game blame killer for a lot. So killers come onto the forums and blame survivors a lot.
Then the survivors see this, and blame the killers. Then the killers come back on here and blame survivors.
Circle of toxicity.

I would say moris need a nerf, but if you do it and not nerf keys at the same time, then there will be an absolute riot bigger than now.
I've seen many suggestions, and I like the following ideas:
Moris: must get all survivors hooked once OR activate of last hook. Shouldn't be both.
Keys: needs an activation to use it. I would say It should have a 5 second animation for you opening it, and if you cancel the animation, then the bar would reset.

Conveniently enough, Saboteur was also nerfed between the PTB and live. If your sabotage gets interrupted for any reason (you let go, or you get hit), the perk goes on cooldown.
Ok, so the perk was nerfed with that, but like someone pointed out, the main mechanic still is to fast.
Most people are gonna run toolboxes for sabatoge now, as even though they are faster, the charges are lowered. Yeah, you lose a few extra charges being hit and having to reset the sabo, but the cost-benefit of the interaction is totally worth that and a health state.

I was having an internal debate in my head whether an all out killer could really beat all out survivors as I sure remember a number of cases where regularly equipped survivors still managed to stomp me when I brought an ebony mori and yellow addons in trying to get a kill all survivors challenge just because of how short game time can be. I thought your claim was a bit weird, but still theoretically possible. Then you said 5 gen slugging with ebony mori is the strong move and now I know you're just exaggerating without thinking things through logically.
Fair enough. I do say things without thinking sometimes.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
If a killer were to bring an ebony mori or the few strong add ons that's the only thing I can think of that would make them powerful. However you get yelled at for being a try hard.
Meanwhile, survivors bring every crutch perk at their disposal, keys, offerings the whole nine yards and that is somehow considered the norm.
How come killer is the only side being told how to play?

Any balance change (or even a bugfix) is made? "See? They only cater to entitled [insert role] mains ☺️☺️"
Like, holy hell. I get that y'all are frustrated about the balance and how changes are made very slowly but have you ever considered that making a working 1vs4 game is VERY HARD and it will never be perfect? Not to mention that Behaviour is not a gigantic AAA game company.
Changes will come to both sides in time. The devs aren't ignoring either of them. Stop making every single thing into an "us vs them". Feel free to tell your opinions and criticism to the devs but stop assuming they only care about one side. If that was the fact, the game would be dead already.

Ok, this is with all honesty, it does suck when, as a survivor, you get hit when the hatchet was clearly above you by a meter.
Do I think they should have done it now? No.
Should it be fixed eventually? Yes.
So in my opinion: good idea, bad timing.

Ahhh, I see the issue. You didn't have a good gaming chair.
For real though, the main issue is that for ranking up, you have to play by the survivor rulebook. It is mandatory.

For real though, this is just because, since it is much harder to rank up as killer, there are only a few red-ranked killers. @BulletsNonstop said:
Why Do you speak to killers And not survivors or just people who play this game as a whole?
The main reason I talk about killers only is 2 reasons:
1. The amount of killers saying "I quit" to some extent.
2. The way that I've been watching games on YouTube, almost all the killers I see in a survivor video have been rank 7s and up. Very few killers are red ranks nowadays. I've also stated seeing red ranked survivor games mixed with greens, yellows, and whites. So it is probably a killer side thing. Either that, or it is showing how much harder it is to rank up as killer, since there are so few, and red ranked survivors are still quite high.
I want to keep this question based for killers. However, I will make a survivor-based question soon.
