The thing is I feel like the spider girl (Laura) is just a demogorgon if you ever played against her in The Evil Within.
Really? I'd say she's nothing like it.
That said, as creepy as she is, I don't see how a Killer like her would work.
She's built more or less like a spider. How would she M1 people? Carry them to hooks?
I just don't think she'd fit without major revisions to gameplay.
Meanwhile The Keeper is basically perfectly designed for DBD. He even has a The name.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Yes it would.
I’m saying this as a frequent No Mither user.
When I use this perk with Iron Will, Calm Spirit, and an aura blocking perk, the killer almost never finds me. Even if I am hooked, when I’m unhooked it is ridiculously easy to disappear on the killer even if they were heading right back to the hook.
The caveat of course is that I’m 1 hit all game.
Its balanced that Lucky Break has a timer seeing as it doesn’t limit any players ability to heal back to healthy, and while injured (in conjunction with Iron Will or Off The Record) be leaving absolutely no trace of yourself for the killer to track. Unlimited use of that would be more broken than most survivors realise.
I really don't see how being able to stealth as if you were Healthy while being Injured would be overpowered.
You'll still leave scratchmarks, proc Whispers, and be visible if the Killer looks at you, just like a Healthy Survivor. Except you're one-hittable and will probably go down instantly if found (unless you have a nearby pallet or Exhaustion perk ready).
Considering the prerequisite is that you are already using half of your perks just to achieve this effect, I don't see how it'd be broken.
Strong? Maybe.
Broken? Never.
-
No it wouldn't.
Sure, if it was combined with Iron Will you'd be as stealthy as a Healthy Survivor, but that's half your perks just for that and you wouldn't suddenly be any better at hiding than a regular Uninjured Survivor. It wouldn't be broken at all IMO.
I also don't think that many people would run it even if it was permanent.
Honestly the only reason I think it isn't permanent is because it could theoretically hard counter Hemorrhage and Bloodhound if all 4 Survivors were using it. But that could be worked around if BHVR cared enough.
-
No, but I've had a game on Grim Pantry where four gens all spawned with LOS of the dock: two on the dock, one beside it and one in front of it admist some trees.
It was also the variation where the center of the map is just reeds, so after the one pallet under the dock was thrown the entire area from the God Window to Shack was just a massive dead zone.
Unfortunately for me I was Legion and was up against a SWF (3 of them had Skeleton Keys and the 4th had a map to find Hatch). I still ended up with a 3k because STBFL let me catch and down the last guy before they could reopen Hatch, but it was still a close thing despite how borked the gen spawns were.
-
Someone who burned a common Coldwind Farm offering told me I was the best Hillbilly they'd ever faced.
That made me feel pretty giddy, because anyone who's been playing long enough to have common map offerings has seen some stuff.
That said, I can't help but think they only complimented me because I just let them go to look for an immersed Claudette who unsafely unhooked them and tried to stealth away.

well no one would play killer and the game would die.

ok then
Ohhhhkay. That makes more sense.

I'm a Killer and I'd be fine with this.
Hatchets vs. Flame Thrower, see who wins.

I think this is for modelling and simplicity's sake.
Most likely, but it's also probably the reason every other Killer is right handed.
So I think it's worth mentioning.
-
Huntress wields her weapon in both hands and throws Hatchets with her left.
Clown throws bottles with his left hand.
But aside from them yea, everyone seems very much like a righty.
-
Nea & Quentin.
But I love all the Survivors; especially Heather, Ash, Nancy, Dwight, Bill, and Yui.
As for perks, my favorites are Wake Up!, Small Game, and Up The Ante.
Wake Up! and Small Game are actually pretty useful - Wake Up! in particular has saved my life more than once.
Up The Ante I like because of how useless it is. I see it as a way to be smug to my teammates.
"Here, have a useless icon in the bottom right of your screen, just to let you know someone in this group is so silly/stupid/overconfident they're only using 3 perks."
-
Maybe for Ghostface; R. J. Torbert has so far been pretty cool about the mask license.
And since DBD's Ghostface is technically an original character (using a licensed mask) they could actually tell a story or two about him without infringing on an established story.
That said, the devs have been pretty consistent in saying they don't want the Rift to feel pay-to-advance.
If they were any challenges that required you to play Ghostface it'd kinda go in the face of that.
-
Object of Obsession
The Chainsaw Overheat mechanic
The Afterpiece Tonic (either give Clown a new, better, power or turn him into a Legendary skin for another Killer - ideally Nurse or Ghostface so I can see an Elephant teleport through walls or peek around corners)
-
@shanny_boi said:
I really like clown's design, it's a shame he's not that good at higher ranks. In my opinion, The Clown is the worst killer in the game and many would agree with me. Leatherface and hillbilly updates could've waited to be honest. Instead, they should've focused on the clown and given him something more than just a small buff.
They should have changed Clown and Bubba IMO, Big Belly Bros > Chainsaw Bros.
Yea Hillbilly had some questionable add-on combinations, but he hasn't broken the game in the past 4 years, I think an add-on rework for him coulda waited until next midchapter.
-
A lot, but recently mostly just Dark Souls - I've been in love with DS2 for some time but never got to play the original game, so after it went on sale a while back I've been playing it blind and trying to figure out the story.
As of now I've just beaten the Four Kings and been given a ton of helpful exposition by a big snake with a flesh mustache called Darkstalker Kaathe.
I gotta say, it's been a lot more than DbD has lately.

First you have amazing taste. Second, still can't believe people thinking this 'nerf' actually knocked him down a tier or something, it just stopped griefing
Thank you! <3
I agree wholeheartedly, the only real change his nerf had is that you can't camp someone free of consequence. His cages still have value and he's still as strong as he was before.
-
Finally, a Killer that can blind Survivors and a subterranean map!
Funny how we still need both those things, given that Survivors are able to be blinded and that one of the original three Killer's whole deal was that he killed people in a mine.
Also T.J. would make way more sense as a Survivor IMO, provided we're talking the original 1981 movie here.
-
-reworked Legion
-fixed more of Nurse's 500 bugs (not just the one on Sanctum of Wrath's steps) and buffed her meme add-ons
-reworked Clown
-put work into implementing the Beginning of the Game phase that
Scott Jundthe devs talked about-reworked Toolboxes so that more than the Commodious Toolbox is actually worth using
-reworked Flashlights and their garbage filler add-ons
-reworked Demogorgon's add-ons (Nancy and Steve have some of their outfits discounted for the Summer sale, so BHVR is clearly in some kind of contact or agreement with Netflix - if that's even needed to make balance adjustments to a licensed character's add-ons)
-fixed the bug where Hillbilly can see through walls when he ends his sprint
-
Obviously they might be doing this stuff too. But they could have put more time into it instead of nerfing Hillbilly.
-
Thanks to current Rank Reset I'm permanently in Red Ranks.
I'd rather refresh Hillbilly dailies and hope they turn into Huntress or Legion ones.

I say he got worse than Nurse'd!
You right.
-
Yea, Hillbilly got Nurse'd.
No, worse than Nurse. She still has a handful of strong and powerful add-ons amidst all the meme stuff.
-
@Pricefield said:
Former glory? They just made it so people couldnt just face camp cages or just tunnel. It's already enough anti hook perks don't work on him, but too many PHs would just face camp cages and nothing could be done
This.
You still get loud sound notifications if you really want to tunnel or there are only two people left.
His Cages weren't nerfed significantly, they were just camp proofed.
-
Also Bae before Bay.
-
Try Huntress.
Her Hitboxes aren't as bad as people make out - it's more of a latency issue.
So as long as you have good Internet she generally fits that Hillbilly niche of very well balanced.
She also has a great add-on set, one of the best in the game IMO, and doesn't depend on a single one of them.
She's not perfect (40 meter Lullaby makes stealth her nemesis and quite a few people hate her a lot), but she has a lot of interactivity in a chase and is far from weak.
If you liked Hillbilly because he was fun and rewarded you for gitting gud you'll probably like Huntress.
-
It's the same as any other map.
If the Survivors split up and work hard on their Objective, they'll be fine.
If they group together in a small area they're at a big disadvantage.
This is further adjusted in or away from the Survivor's favor depending on whether they use loops efficiently.
On Saloon this just taken to a extreme because of how easily large portions of the map can become dead zones and how close and visible the gens are.

No One Left Behind really wants to talk to you.
Hey, I've saved people's lives with NOLB. It's not useless!
Just really, really niche.
Like super niche.
Like, it's useful once out of thirty games niche.
But not totally useless.
Please buff No One Left Behind BHVR-
If you wanna talk totally useless perks though, I nominate Predator. It's good for nothing except occasionally making it harder to track people.
-
I feel like most of the people complaining don't know that, as Survivor, if you get the Gate open until just before the first red lights up and then hide; the Killer won't see any signs of you having been there. In the time it takes them to leave to the other Gate and come back you can usually then finish opening it before they can get a hit on you.
Or you can run Wake Up! and definitely get out.
Obviously, Trapper, Clown, Snare Freddy, Plague, and Whispers can all counter this, so I wouldn't say it's amazingly balanced, but it's not as bad as it seems from seeing Survivors who try to Yolo it just die because you can walk back and forth between them.
-
@EmpireWinner said:
I never played that game, how is it?
It's an indie survival game.
Basically you play as the Survivor(s) of a plane crash on a peninsula inhabited by strange mutants. You build stuff, explore caves, look for a way to Escape, that kinda stuff.
It has a fair a bit of horror elements in it though: with hanging bodies, severed heads on pikes, the unnatural screeching of the mutants in the night, and a day/night cycle that usually sees you be assaulted by creatures in the darkness. I wouldn't necessarily call it a horror game though.
-
Missed opportunity to ask if "Nea's from the Nea-r future".
-
Pyramid Head! He'd cut the cake, and maybe invite James and Heather over too.
https://youtu.be/arY1b7szz0g?t=43 -
I mean if the devs know what's up, they'll pull a Forever Freddy hotfix type situation and nerf Moris and Keys without any warning.
-
Yea, he really depends on caging to get a sizable amount of Deviousness, since the ranged attacks only give you 300 points per hit and Mori'ing only grants Sacrifice points.
By way of contrast, Pig's Ambush attack gives 500 Deviousness and Demogorgon's Shred gives 800 Deviousness points per hit.

This is satire, right? Nea has the face of a bulldog. Definitely not the "most human looking".
Obviously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but IMO her face is fine.
That aside what I'm talking about is that unnatural look that a lot of the DBD characters have.
Most of the Survivors look rather uncannily videogamey. Nea looks like less so. At least to me.
-
It's pretty great. If it weren't for the House of Pain I'd love it.
Probably one of the most balanced maps in the game IMO.
-
Ace is a really cool guy (just look at that smug smile!), but there's no contest here.
Nea.
She easily has the most human looking face of the Survivors (contested only by Dwight), her default outfit is one of the best of the original characters, she has cool cosmetics, unlike Ace she's one of the Legacy gang, and her perks, while no longer great, are all more than decent (unlike Mr. 8 more meters of aura reading when I come with no aura reading perks, 4% more of a useless stat that's only good for trying to kill myself or facing one Killer out of twenty and failing to counter their power normally, and a less than 100% chance to get and keep good add-ons from one of the three chests on the map that might be searched by other players before I can get to them).
If Ace ever gets the ability to use his fingerguns in game, maybe I'll reconsider. But as is, while he's definitely cool, he's definitely not as cool as Nea.
-
I mean, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who cares less about Silent Hill than Konami - it's not that big of an achievement.
That aside, it is frankly incredible all the detail and love that clearly went into Midwich. And it's one of my favorite maps because of it.
-

It’s fine to me the way it is. We used to get less BP for offerings and we only had 2 perks to choose from when we hit tier 50, and even had less Blood Rush events. Be more thankful.
I mean, just because things are better than they were doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't be improved.
-
No. Never.
Huntress is too cool.
I mained her back when my only teachable was Devour Hope, and I versed Red Ranks abusing a SWF bug to face Brown and Yellow Ranks.
I mained her through her Hatchet hitbox nerf, when you could throw Hatchets through Survivors and miss.
I'll main her when she gets a red cooldown meter that keeps her from throwing more than one Hatchet every 20 seconds and her add-ons become her garbage teachables but even worse (Very Rare add-on that shows you the aura of Survivors in the basement for three seconds when you're 32 meters away from the basement and hit a Survivor from 20 meters away with a Hatchet when?).
Why? She's a tall and buff one woman army who raised herself alone in the Russian wilderness, she's the first and as of yet still the only Killer that can yeet Death at people from across the map, and I have all the Killer perks in the game on her.
As for Nea and Quentin; they have beanies. Beanies!
'Nuff said.
-
It varies.
-
If I'm killing half a squad with matching names, DS, Dab Hards, AND multiple Keys (I'm actually not exaggerating) it's the best thing ever. I'll take that 2k and love it.
If I'm facing a gang of goobers that don't even look behind them; just slam pallets and run forward that just push gens out ASAP it definitely feels like a loss due to gross incompetence on my part.
-
Likewise as Survivor; if there's a DC at 5 gens or if the Killer Moris off first hook and I can still get 2 people out I will be beyond pleased.
But if the Killer facecamps and/or gets carried by Survivor mistakes it definitely feels like a loss only getting two people out.

Yea that add-on is a relic of the days of Exhaustion recovering while running.

Well i don't like that this SE exists on such high-rarity Add-ons, but it's fine to have it be a thing.
More pools of blood is better than less.
Sloppy Butcher probably uses Haemorrhage the best, it's way too weak to be a power on its own after all.
I mean, if they just combined Mangled and Hemorrhage would it really be an issue?
I think it'd make sense too; you bleed more while suffering from particularly gruesome wounds.

For 2 years I have played this game, I’m decent at both sides. Clearly survivors are way more favorable to this game
Yea, but if you do play both sides and have for 2 years, you'd know most Survivors aren't masters of looping talking on comms with their friends like their lives depend on Escaping as fast as possible.
Quite a lot of Survivors flat out suck. And even those that are good aren't good every game.
I agree the SWFs who do shouldn't have so much of an advantage, but they're far from everywhere. Most games as Killer you'll face a group of Solo goobers just trying to have fun, and most games quite a few of those goobers will die.
There are problems with this game, and they need solutions to be sure, but they don't ruin the overall experience IMO and ranting vaguely about perks isn't going to solve anything.
-
Me either.
Makes sense though, it's changed quite a bit from it's original state.
-
Ace's perks are just really bad. Like, wasted perk slot bad.
That said, there are a lot of characters with garbage teachables. I wouldn't argue with anyone that says Steve, Yui, Zarina, or Ash have worse teachables.
-
I mean, unless they just camp someone with PotD it's usually a pretty fun game versing a Pyramid Head.

No, he's shorter than Huntress and Bubba.
Well possibly Bubba; it's impossible to tell where his mask and hair start and where his actual head stops.
Worth noting, I'm going of off head to toe, not including masks, mud, or tree branches.

Possibly tied with Huntress if she didn't tilt her head or slouch.

@Mew said:
so... it isnt fair that you wont get BS hits through pallets and windows when you have garbage connection?
that doesn’t make sense... at all
No, they're saying it won't be fair when a Survivor with bad internet is able to just phase through hits.
Or register hits a few seconds after, like in other online PVP games (Dark Souls or Bloodborne come to mind) where you land a hit and they continue totally fine for a bit before suddenly taking damage.
I don't think OP is trying to say the current system is perfect, because it's not and in fact it sucks, but they're saying this new system probably won't be any bettter since the server will have to check both sides to confirm a hit, not just one.
Pretty sure their concern is that you'll be trading BS hits as Survivor for BS misses as Killer without even actually getting rid of BS hits as Survivor.
