Take three seconds to look around or face a wall before picking up.
Use your ears if you're at a pallet/window (if you don't have headphones or have hearing trouble, getting blinded as Killer is the LEAST of your worries).
-
The Blight's lore and existence as one of the Killers are proof he won't be able to really continue towards his goal.
Killers are all bound to serve the Entity. Some, like Pyramid Head, are in a strange sort of alliance with it, while others, like Trapper, have been so warped and tortured into servitude that almost nothing of them remains (it's an outdated idea now, but the original lore of the Killers characterized them as inhuman beasts rather than people).
Talbot is no exception. The climax of The Hunger story in his lore was how he failed to overcome his addiction and the powerful pull of the Entity. He could have been another Vigo, but he failed and was twisted into the Blight.
It's possible that some part of his reasoning mind is still inside the monstrous creature he turned himself into and it's possible he still performs experiments. But it's irrelevant now.
He belongs to the Entity; the goal of his research (to be able to use the Serum to traverse the Entity's Realm freely and unhindered like Vigo can/could) can no longer be achieved.
It's possible some other lore character might learn from his mistakes, but for Talbot Grimes it's over.
-
I'd have it work on a token system, like Distortion.
You can see the Killer unless they're Undetectable, but only for 5/6/7 seconds per token AND they can continue to see you even if you look away for the remainder of the 5/6/7 seconds.
Like Distortion, I think there should be a (difficult) way to gain more tokens during play.
But regardless, it'd force you to be more careful with OoO since it'll be difficult to use well, it can potentially give the Killer more information than you get, and you can easily burn through all your tokens if you're not careful.
As for Obsession vs. Non-Obsession, Non-Obsessions would start with fewer or no tokens.
-
Still a potentially very strong and dangerous perk, but no longer just a constant middle finger to specific Killers or on specific maps.

There's no way to know that.
The Entity's trials don't occur in a physical space.
In the lore of the game it's established that everything is more or less just an abstraction: like a dream.
There are no broken generators, wooden pallets, corn fields, killer shacks, old boats, or anything else; it's all part of a sort of abstract dream world that the Survivors and Killers share.
Nothing has physicality; there is no ground to send wires through. Everything is created by the Entity to provide detail and believability to the dream.
This is also the same reason why Survivors can't talk, why Killers have weapon cooldown, why David can't fight back, why perks are needed to do stuff like pick up pallets, and how the Survivors and Killers can perform various supernatural feats.
Imagine what it's like when you dream. You see things, do things, think things even though your physical body is at rest in bed.
It's more or less the same in DbD: none of it is real, it's just a shared dream that the Entity controls to make the participants feel specific emotions.
-
I haven't played him yet so I csn't testify to it being cooler or not, but it definitely makes more visual sense.
He raises his knife from outside POVs, why not raise his knife from his POV?
-
As a mostly Killer Main I've actually come to love WoO; even though I have a handle on most of the map layouts being able to just "know" there's a pallet or window can actually make a big difference.
Not enough to call it sleeper OP or anything, but it's better than useless.

Its comforting that they're okay. Given the current global situation my mind always goes to the worst...
Glad they're okay! Thats all that really matters =D
Well, they were okay when they posted that anyway.
Really hope they stay safe out there. 🤞
-
I personally like to take it as a point of pride, and be happy that I'm not hitting people from 10 feet away or getting fed hits by the server (I mean, I don't think: I guess I can't really trust my POV and theirs are the same).
But yea, it's low key disheartening to line up a shot or predict a Survivor and then just watch your Hatchet go straight through them.
I always wonder what happens on their end. Do they just see my Hatchets miss or what?

The Panama is my favorite head cosmetic for Ace.
Night Out New is good - I use it from time to time, but her default is my favorite overall.
Everything else is whatever.

Not to the point when you can loop a killer there for 2 minutes without dropping a single pallet.
This is also true.
While strong tiles aren't bad, no one tile should be so strong the Killer just can't chase you there.
That doesn't mean tiles should be so weak that the Killer can commit to any chase at any time and get an easy down - I'm saying that a specific spot shouldn't be why the Killer has to give up; it should be because the Survivor really knows what they're doing and is good at chases.
-
I just love how goofy it sounds and, like, it's not like DBD is trying that hard to be creepy anyway.

As you know, you can already go into the match settings and see which played what Survivor - you can even do it in-game.
It'll also tell you which variation of the map's RNG layout you played on IIRC.
-
That said, I don't see why this shouldn't or couldn't be a thing. But it's not entirely necessary.
-
Because once upon a time Legion could spam lunges to travel farther and faster than they could by just walking.
Also Old Legion basically broke the game; the devs smashed them really hard with the nerf hammer because people were using Deep Wounds and Feral Frenzy in ways the devs didn't intend and somehow didn't foresee happening.

I understand it. Ok, I rephrase. Which highest rank console huntress you have played against?
I'm a Killer main, not a Survivor main.
So I can only really say I know of just one high rank console Huntress.
And between you and me, they're not even that good. They mostly just mess around with goofy perks and try to have fun.
-

I played vs Huntress yesterday. She was rank 7 and didn't killed anyone, but she didn't played completely awful. And I was surprised she got the globe icon. She might be a windows store player. But if she was real console rank 7 Huntress I'm impressed.
Question to console players. Which highest rank console huntress could possibly get?
Rank 1; just because she's harder to play doesn't mean she's impossible to play.

It's only invincibility if they have BT, Unbreakable, or a locker nearby.
Even then, burn through it once and it's gone for the rest of the game. If someone wastes their DS taunting, well... ...a 3v1 is easier than a 4v1.
And if they just try to get away, just go for the unhooker - and then it's almost like there's no DS at all.
-
Quentin and Nea.
I can relate to Quentin's insomnia and he was the best part of the NOES reboot. Nea has probably the best default outfit of any original character and I dig her backstory.
More importantly, they both have beanies!
-
Dead
You can't take a beating. When Injured die.
Press the Active Ability button to dab forward 1/2/3 meters.
During the dab you freaking die.
After dabbing, you gain the Dead Status Effect.
You cannot use Dead when Dead.
You do not recover from Death.

-
I'm not, and I won't unless they give Lisa a different voice/lobby name or the Nea one goes on sale.
For Lisa, while I really like Silent Hill, if they're not going to put that extra effort into making legendary cosmetics feel different and special I'm not buying it. I will not pay around the same price as 2 DLCs for Heather in a nurse outfit.
As for Nea, she and Quentin are my Survivor mains. While I'm not a fan of the very concept of non-legendary cosmetic sets, I'd make an exception and get one for either of them... ...if it's on sale.
-
All this is a moot point though, because I'm not spending another cent on anything in DbD until I can at least go through the main menu on PS4 without the game constantly freezing.
-
Visionary. Visionary is the worst Survivor perk.
-
No Mither is a meme perk that does have benefits: if you're good at chases but are in solo queue you can force the Killer to pick you up at situations where they really need/should slug. Survivor is a team game, and I can say without hesitation that getting Killers to hook me instead of deathhook someone else has won games as Survivor in the past.
Déjà Vu can help avoid 3 gens. Nobody struggles to find gens (unless you're on Léry's); but being able to see the 3 closest gens helps ensure the Killer can't get a 3 or 4 gen going.
Sole Survivor pairs well with Object of Obsession if you're using it in solo queue and get ignored.
Poised can eliminate your scratchmarks. If this happens while you're Healthy in chase you can completely vanish mid-chase, effectively wasting all the time the Killer spent chasing you. As a Killer Main lemme tell you: wasted time as Killer is near guaranteeing a loss.
We're Gonna Live Forever has no in-game benefit, but unless you're a streamer or already have everything you want maxed out, you'll really want that potential 2x BP. Honestly, getting extra BP can be much more worth it than even 'Escaping/Winning' a game: at least for me, since my win condition is having fun. You don't usually need 4 perks to do that. (WGLF still deserves an in-game effect tho)
-
Visionary is the worst because you can already just see generators in outdoor maps, and maps that can have them in buildings almost always have flashing lights outside the building to let you know (Badham and Yamaoka Estate are the exceptions).
On indoor maps you don't really need it either; Midwich's gens have limited spawns and you can just learn which rooms to check, The Game's gens are always near a closed (if the gen is incomplete) sliding door, and Hawkins' gens have two with guaranteed spawns and can usually be found by just checking the hallways or the corners of the big rooms.
Léry's is the only map you'd ever really need it; and Déjà Vu or Detective's Hunch do the job better than Visionary.
I'm not saying you won't get value out of it ever, but there are better perks even in the niche of "where are the gens?!?"

Though they could always just use the adult versions of both Alma and Damien to instantly dodge any issues that might come up with having children involved with violence.
I think the majority of potential younger-than-general-adult-age killers could probably be aged in a similar way (if they didn't already have adult versions from their origin series).
Yea, definitely; I'm just saying if we get a child it'd have to be supernatural like that.
-
Bubba Ho-Tep chapter when?
Gimme my 80% Killer that just immediately sucks the souls out of Survivors.
-
Only if it's a supernatural child with supernatural powers.
Legion already gets mocked and called 'not scary' and they're high school teenagers.
If we get a small child and they're not along the lines of Alma or Damien, then people will just die laughing at the 7 year old chasing David King with a knife.

It took me so long to realize you meant Deathslinger with DS, not Decisive Strike.
Also I gotta concur with @KingFrost; I'm pretty sure trees exist independently of Ghostyboi.
Like, even as a joke I really don't see the connection. Sure he can, like, lean from around them, but he can lean around basically anything on the entire map.
What makes trees more special to him than, like, say a pallet? Or a hook? Or a window?

I haven't tried his ultra rares yet (as I don't want to get used to addons that aren't sustainable) but I will give them a try. I think one of the factors that I dislike about new Bubba is his charge up mechanic. It's Hillbilly's charge up mechanic which makes him even less "unique" than before.
It's just a small detail but it contributed to a different chainsaw "feeling" if that makes sense.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1592734#Comment_1592734
Haha yeah perhaps that's a factor as well. With his changes he has become a lot more mainstream as his chainsaw is an extremely reliable chase tool now making it easier to perform well than before his rework.
Yea, I'm also not a fan of how Bubba's Chainsaw now charges and activates exactly like Hillbilly's.
Being able to feather it is basically worthless given how it works in a chase and it makes cancelling harder than it was before. He's a lot stronger in other areas of course, so it's not a big deal, but it's not what I'm used to. It's just different now and I don't really see why.
And, unfortunately, there are no add-ons that band-aid that.
(Also, if you haven't you should try his Iridescent add-ons together, it's just hilarious how far and long you can go.)
-
I wasn't a fan of new Bubba's new basekit, but Carburettor Tuning Guide and Primer Bulb really helped me.
Makes him more like his old self and less of new Bubba: which for me has generally been quite a lot of looking at the bottom left to see how many stacks I have and making sure I press M2 at the right time so I can keep chainsawing.
Granted CTG's an Ultra Rare add-on now, but I found it made him more like how he used to be. Maybe it'll provide some small measure of comfort to you too?

I've seen people try this against me and in basically every single case I got the hit regardless. Maybe there's some sorta pixel-perfect i-frame that's given to survivors if its timed right but I haven't seen it myself.
I've gotta concur with this.
I generally don't bother breaking pallets as PH because it seems to me if I POTD at any time during their vault it hits them.
Maybe I've just gotten really lucky though, I can only say what I've experienced as him.

When playing the Lery's map, the frame rate is almost unbearable on either side.

I've heard similar claims before about, well, everything. Then the devs follow through and nobody so much as apologizes for their "totally legit criticism" (insults) of the devs.
Oh is it that so? I can't wait for the devs to fulfill their promise to improve console performance by December 2018 and begin taking steps to get us to 60 fps.
Oh wait, silly me, it's 2020 and the majority of the frame rate issues have gotten worse. At least we can crossplay with people with 60 fps though right?
I'm not trying to pick at the devs here or at you, but saying they'll "follow through" is legitimately laughable. It's coming up on 2 years since things were supposed to have gotten better.
-
Also, if asking for any kind of update on console optimization is an "insult" I'd like to know what we should do.
There's a big difference between people asking for NOED nerfs, or gen speeds reduced, or whatever and people asking for info on if BHVR is still working on giving console players the ability to go through the main menu without it freezing every time you click on something.
Don't lump everyone here together just because some people are furious that the game runs like garbage.

So that means you can bump it forever?
No, it means that the bumps were a small part of a very long thread asking a serious question that still has no real answer.
If the relatively few bumps were a problem they could have said so from Page 7 or 14, not issued one warning 30-ish Pages in and then closed it after the first bump after that.
Bumps aren't cool, but it wasn't a problem with the mods at first, and, IMO, it didn't take away from the 30+ pages of questions, complaints, and video proof of console issues.
-
For me it's more about the streamer playing and how they play; not which side they're playing.
-
If the legendary cosmetics actually changed the character or were anything other than just a skin that can't be split into 3 parts, maybe I'd get them.
As is I wouldn't buy them if they were free for shards; there are better skins that let me mix and match to make something unique.
Edit: To clarify, I know the difference between sets and legendary cosmetics, and I'm talking about legendary skins; which are always sets.

...Because people kept bumping it, which is against the rules. Why did you omit that part?
Yes, people bumped a thread about an actual issue with the game that people wanted a response on.
Guess what? Several of those bumps sat on the thread for days, and it remained up. A mod even commented on it directly after those bumps.
Deleting it because of the bumps was an excuse.

On PC FPS issues were fixed by lowering the resolution setting. It's a slider for some reason. Is that possible on console?
If it's not possible maybe it can be set for all console players in an update. On PC at least changing the resolution setting seems to do basically nothing visually.
No, it isn't possible on console.
Additionally, as far as I can tell, console is already preset to low graphic settings by default and can't be changed.
-
Edit:
Also for anyone else who wants to say 'jUsT GEt a Pc lOl' I'd like to point out what you said, Madjura; DBD still suffers issues on PC, even decent gaming computers can struggle to run the game at anything beyond Low.
This isn't a console problem, or even a DBD on console problem, it's a DBD problem. It's just that I can't upgrade a PS4 or adjust DBD's settings to band-aid the issue, so it remains a problem.
-
Applying a status effect causes the game to freeze or stutter.
This includes Survivors applying Exhaustion to themselves.
-
I don't know.
I'd like to think that she'll be exempt from the nonsense that Billy and Nurse have suffered because she's quite liked as is by most of the BHVR crew and because the complaints people have about her are focused mainly on latency and Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt.
But if they seriously gave Hillbilly an add-on that boosted his movement speed by 0.2 meters per second only when a flashlight was aimed at him, and thought it was worthy of a Rare add-on anything is possible.

Right now mostly just DbD, Fall Guys, a replay of The Evil Within, and the Sims 4, but I'm still playing DS3 too from time to time: alternating between a playthrough as my Knight from DS1 and my character from DS2 (who's a Sorcerer in DS3, but was more of a Dex build in DS2 that also got a lot of her points put into spell casting).
I have lots of other games I play from time to time too, but nothing I play super regularly.

A communal classical music library? How do you mean?
Like we post links to good performances here, or...?
-
Map wide aura reading, potentially a very small Terror Radius (you could get it to zero with M&A and Red Paintbrush), and the ability to inflict a massive slowdown in return for the inability to immediately hit or pressure people made Old Freddy so different and unique.
I wish they'd stuck with that concept; the idea of trading the ability to immediately inflict pain and death for future slowdown and information.
-
New Freddy isn't bad though.
Strong yes; unbeatable/OP no. IMO there's nothing wrong with strong Killers.
I do wish they'd done more with his add-ons though. Frankly they all kinda suck besides the slowdown ones (which should have just been set to 'does not stack' instead of being nerfed into the ground) and the one that reduces the distance at which he's visible.

Hopping in a locker won't save you from being instadowned.

-
Ohhhh boy, I have a lot; and no I can't choose just one.
OhTofu, Farmer John, Umbra, Puppers, Int3r4ct (AKA Entity Education Dude), Scott Jund, and Otzdarva.
OhTofu is just great; I'd listen to his 50 year old ramble-ranting any day AND he's pretty thoughtful about both sides whenever he talks about anything.
Farmer John is straight memes and high quality joke videos, love him.
Umbra seems like a cool person and her streams are usually pretty entertaining. She's also really good at Killer.
Puppers also seems like he's a pretty decent person and his streams are fun to watch too. He's also really good at Survivor and, intentional or not, tends to explain when and where he messes up or pulls off something smart in a chase; which really helped my Killer Main posterior get a better grasp of Survivor way back when I first started watching him.
I dig numbers and understanding the mechanics behind the game - Int3r4ct's add-on videos are just my cup of tea.
Scott presents well thought opinions in addition to just having fun with DbD. I don't always agree with those opinions, but I can always understand where he's coming from. Always the Majula theme just puts me in a good mood.
Otzdarva is just a really clever and entertaining guy. His content is insightful and fun.
-
So that they could create a bad add-on for Leatherface that does the same thing for his power but with a different limitation?
Honestly tho IDK; it certainly doesn't really feel like Knockout is any stronger than it was pre-buff.
-
How are people seriously objecting to the idea of more bloodpoints?
It's not like OP is proposing Moris give Survivors a gen done for free or anything; it's 100% more BP post-game so Survivors are actively encouraged to play the game.

You forgot about Go Cart Ghost Face. If you stack the best crouching add-ons, you actually move slightly faster than the normal walking speed and can chase Survivors while crouching
Is it really faster? I thought it was just slightly under 115%.
Personally, I'm partial to stacking the colognes for longer Exposed duration. I tend to run Enduring and Spirit Fury on him, so I can try to build it up and proc it before the Exposed runs out, but if they're actually beneficial I should use the Crouch speed add-ons more.
I thought they were just for memeing.

Just because you are 63-69 ms to the server doesn't mean the survivor has the same connection. Most likely the survivor has high ping and so the server updates the new survivor position and movement less frequently.
This is why I wish I could check Survivor ping pregame.
It's possible during game, but by then I can't leave if I don't want to deal with it.
That said, there's a difference between this and like, teleporting around, running into walls, jerky running movement type lag.
With this it's less that they're teleporting or stuttering and more that they're always moving at full speed in whatever direction them aim themselves. There's no momentum.
If they start moving backwards they just instantly face backwards and run.
