It would be just as invalid. Repeating something doesnt make it right.

Yet you repeated yourself 30+ times.

  • That would completely screw over achievement hunters and completionists.

Imagine getting the game this next June. That would be 36 different achievements that would be permanently inaccessible solely because they bought the game three years after its release.

I was actually told once that if the Hag and the Doctor DLCs were purchased before the store that allows them to be unlocked with Shards opened in 2.0.0, users would get exclusive cosmetics as thanks or compensation or something.
Apparently it was meant to be a thing to compensate players who paid for the DLC by giving them free exclusives since he DLC’s contents can now be obtained without paying.

I guess it was a lie because I didn’t get anything when 2.0.0 came out.
I still think BHVR should have done something of the sort though. Maybe they should give some form of exclusive cosmetic or something to users who purchase the DLC as opposed to farming it? I don’t know.

    That wasn't a lie.

As I detailed above, the cosmetics mentioned were Ace's tuxedo, Feng's sweater and track pants, and the Doctor's Project Awakening set.

You only get them if you purchase the DLC itself. You won't get them if you buy the characters with Iridescent Shards or Auric Cells.

I don't think I am the one who missed the point. I am aware of what you said. I am suggesting that it would be a better gameplay experience as well as a more immersive one if there were more "fight" responses added to the game. The point of this discussion is exploring those options and thinking of ways to implement them that would be satisfying for Survivors without aggravating Killers.

This discussion is not about what is, it's about what could be.

Again, you're not meant to be able to fight back.

Look at Amnesia, Outlast and Alien Isolation. What helps makes those games so great is that you have little to no means of defence except fleeing and hiding. They wouldn't be nearly as interesting if you could just fight back against your aggressor.

Same applies to Dead by Daylight. You're meant to stay as far away from the killer as possible, not intentionally running up and tackling them.

  • You seem to have missed the part where even the physically smallest of the killers are able to hold a fully grown struggling adult with one hand while also carrying a likely heavy weapon in the other.

The survivors are meant to be defenceless. They are meant to run and hide, not fight back. That's the whole point.

  • Here are images of the cosmetics you gain from purchasing the respective DLCs from the Store directly.

Laurie, Ace, Feng, Quentin & Tapp get a full set, three pieces each.

Kate, Adam & Jeff get one item each, being the torso piece.

The Doctor receives a full set as well.

Finally, Dwight receives a head piece (for some reason) from purchasing the Leatherface DLC.

  • If you buy the Curtain Call DLC on Steam, you will not get your Shards back.

Note that if you buy a survivor with Shards or Auric Cells, you will not get the alternate outfit (which in Kate's case, is her white top).

  • As far as I know, there are no Ultra Rare cosmetics in the game at all, let alone the Store.

I believe that Legacy and a couple of exclusives used to be Ultra Rare, but were bumped down to Very Rare for whatever reason.

  • The Japanese themed set for Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea & The Huntress will most likely release simultaneously with the chapter, as the Fog Traveller set did for Curtain Call.

The other sets for the Trapper, Clown and Kate will likely be released once a week, as they did for the weeks following Curtain Call's release.

This should be bannable, it's stupid how you can block players to your liking

You mean like how the killer can do exactly do without the need of third party addons?

Apparently Australia already has the Spirit according to someone else's post.

Aussie here. Would like for that to be true.

  • I'd hope not.

I actually live in Australia and I haven't seen anything about it.

Can confirm. Nothing has changed on Steam.

I will never understand why people complain about being blocked.

    1) You will never have to deal with their toxicity again.
    2) If they block every good player that outplays them, they're going to have a difficult time finding matches.

They even block according to what killer people use and how they play.

Which will eventually lead to my second point.

  • I will never understand why people complain about being blocked.

    1) You will never have to deal with their toxicity again.
    2) If they block every good player that outplays them, they're going to have a difficult time finding matches.

If they don't want to play with someone, they should not be forced to. Killers have the exact ability inherently.

Where? I’ve never seen it before.

Go to the filters and check 'Show All items'.

Allows you to equip all your owned outfits within the store so you can combine them with the previews of the purchasable items.

  • @PinkEricka said:
Do you know how time consuming it is to keep switching back to the store from your wardrobe just to see a rotation of what outfit would look good with what?

    I think not.

You are aware that you can do all of that inside the Store, right?

  • @Brawler said:
He won't, he will get Frosty Eyes only.

You got a source for that?

  • To clarify on what the previous answers mean by additional outfits:

Laurie will not get Tousled Low Lights, Comfy Cardigan and Everyday Culottes.
Ace will not get Sharp Ace, Grey Tux Jacket and Grey Tux Trousers.
Feng will not get Relaxed Bun, Day Off Wrap and Soft Track Pants.
Quentin will not get Beanie Quin, Quilted Shirt and Relaxed Pants.
Tapp will not get Investigation Tapp, Investigation Suit and Duty Jeans.
Kate will not get Midday Slip Dress.
Adam will not get Graduation Day Suit.

Note #1: This applies to purchasing them with both Iridescent Shards and Auric Cells, hence why it applies to the licensed trio of survivors.

Note #2: I have not yet confirmed whether purchasing the Doctor with Shards or Cells will give you his Project Awakening outfit set or not.

There's nothing sadder, more boring and frustrating than watching a survivor run circles around every pallet of the map, for each one 4 minutes. Even when the gens are done. It's just pathetic and thirsty.

    Go both way :p

    No, it really doesn't.

Pallet looping is a method of survival.

Slugging the last person for 4 minutes is just wasting their time. The game is over, you won, hook them. You're being a scumbag.

His alternate outfit set shows off a bit of his physique.

    Where did you find that?

It's in the game files of the PTB.

Every non-licensed character in the game has new cosmetics coming up, with the exception of Dwight, Feng, Ace & David.

I've got a whole compilation of it here. Spoilers, naturally.

Can we please rework or just get rid of these add ons?
I do not want to waste bloodpoints on useless items that I will for sure never use.
Killer are not powerful enough to cripple themselves with this.
No add on have such a huge drawback to use in the first place.

This is a challenge add-on. Same goes for No-Mither for survivors. Only you get bonus BP if you use them

It's sad to speak about any "challenge perk/add on" in the first place.
But to be honest, I think that survivor have a perk for it only shows that survivor is to easy.
But do you really wanna tell me that Trapper is to easy, so he could use Padded Jaws?

If a survivor has reached tier 3 on NM, the crap is gone from his bloodweb, but Billy and Trapper have this junk spawning in their bloodwebs forever.

Injuring the survivors is hardly the point of the traps. Their main purpose is to immobilise the survivor, let the killer know exactly where they are, and allow them to pick them up straight out of the trap.

  • @PigNRun said:
But at least he went out in a very altruistic image. Isnt he the first Survivor to not disappear in a forest (excluding licensed characters)?

Only the original four survivors & Kate are actually stated to have disappeared in a forest, along with Benedict Baker.

Nea disappeared when her friends dared her to tag the Asylum.
Ace disappeared when he was starting to have debt collectors hunt him down.
Feng disappeared after entering a depression and drinking at bars.
David just straight up stopped showing up to the pub.

Somehow I doubt those last three would ever have a reason to enter a forest to be taken.

  • $11 USD Steam credit for 1,100 Auric Cells. Haven't used any yet.
    vs
4,500 Iridescent Shards on Meg (black skirt)
3,600 Iridescent Shards on Jake (green vest jacket and black work slacks)
4,500 Iridescent Shards on David (white tank top)
4,500 Iridescent Shards on Kate (blue jeans)

Actually, The Flesh & Mud and Sparks of Madness DLC were free before the cosmetic store was in the process of being made, at least it was for console.

I understand they have to make money somehow but cosmetics that can only be bought with auric cells are a little too pricey....

Some long time committed DBD players don’t mind buying the cosmetics no matter how expensive they are because they’ve been waiting for this for a really long time and have grown tired of wearing the same P3 clothing...

However, it might turn away new people from buying it because they’re too expensive and there’s been a LOT of new people ever since this game became free.

I think they should lower the prices a bit and a lot more people will buy it or make the cosmetics into bundles like they did with the headcase.

Sorry if I’m talking out of my ass, I’m a PS4 player and I’m aware that it’s different platform wise...

Of Flesh and Mud, and Spark of Madness are indeed paid DLC on PC. I believe they are free on consoles because the game by default costs more than it does on PC.

Only a small portion of the cosmetics are Auric Cells only, and most of them already have one or two other variants that can be bought with Iridescent Shards.

I don't mind paying the occasional $10 for great cosmetics if it allows BHVR to keep churning out new characters which are available for free.

  • You know why the Hag, Doctor, Clown, Ace, Feng and Kate are available for free via Iridescent Shards?

Because the Cosmetic Store now exists.

You know why the devs have promised that every single new un-licensed character can be purchased for free via Irdiescent Shards?

Because the Cosmetic Store now exists.

They are a company. They have to make money somehow. It's either pricey cosmetics and free content, or pricey content and free cosmetics.

    Your pick.

Adept Shape is sacrificing all four using just his three unique perks.

Evil Incarnate is the one you're thinking of, which requires killing all four with a Tombstone Piece/Judith's Tombstone. Check if you already have this one, and simply got mixed up.

I already have that. I need Adept Shape, so a merciless victory. Killing all 4 survivors didn't work, so I'm pretty sure what Judgement said is correct, I need enough points in all categories. I'm 100% made sure I had his 3 perks on after the game and not a 4th.

If Adept Shape is the one you're trying for, then you're going for the wrong achievement.

To clarify, your OP is describing the 'Evil Incarnate' achievement.

but you said you already have that.

This is 'Adept Shape', an entirely different achievement.

I don't think Moris work for Adept Shape anyway, so you'll have to do with old fashioned hooks.

I think we can expect an Asian male survivor. With this games popularity in the East it's wierd not to have one.

wait I thought Jake is half-Asian or something?

No concrete evidence, but Park is an extremely surname in Korea.

    Cool beans.

I didn't get Iron Will 2 on Jake until he was Prestige 3 40 something. You don't see me babyraging about it on the forums.

  • @thicc_boi said:
    what is it?

Nea's Prestige lll headgear I'd presume.

No one else has a beanie as their default headgear.

It's not the devs' fault you got bad RNG.

  • @popoles said:
I still don't see the problem, why there can't be a new clothing released, that rewards play time.

There is. It's called Prestige l, ll & lll.

  • Thing is, Legacy was meant to reward people who supported the game during it's first few months, and stuck around long enough to get through the massive grind.

Even though getting to Devotion 3 would also be a massive grind, there's an actual incentive to go for it now. Back then, no one had any idea that Legacy was going to exist.

Not to mention that there was a time limit on obtaining Legacy (if I recall, it was around November 13th it was announced, and November 23rd it was released).

  • @Shadoureon said:

Where did you find this? Any twitter I need to follow?

    They're in the game files.

  • There has been a trend of cosmetics being released weekly since 2.0.0 launched.

Week 1: Meg - Game Set Match
Week 2: Jake - Western Wrangler
Week 3: Ace - Smoking Jacket
Week 4: Hillbilly - Bloodthirsty Mechanic
Week 5: Dwight - Wine N Dine, Meg - Athletics Active, Ace - Loveable Rogue
Week 6: Trapper - Ironworks, Hag - Chemosynthesis

My personal guess for Week 7 is David's Rowdy Boy outfit.

Then in Week 8, Claudette's Elegant Flower, Nea's Stockholm Syndrome and Feng's Engineer Class.

Complications arise, and sometimes promises have to break.

We all know they would 100% let consoles have the masks if they could. This isn't something they can control.

  • Ironic or nah?

He has no limitation to how long he can chainsaw sprint, outside of hitting solid objects or survivors.

  • You should NEVER tell anyone to kill themselves over a video game, regardless of what they do in it. That's not cool, and I'm glad you got banned over it.

If he (Cannibal) can't be with them, he'll (Cannibal) find another way to be like them.

    Oh, now I see. Thanks!

and just FYI, SurvivorFace is Jake, not Claudette. Claudette is SmartFace.

So even if the description was referring to the survivor, the pronouns would be correct.

  • I hope this post is being ironic.

  • The entire point of legacy was for players who grinded through the old, tedious bloodweb. You didn't automatically get it through just playing the game back then.

and even if something like this was implemented, the only characters that would get it would be David and the Huntress, as they were the only non-licensed characters released between the first and second anniversarys.

  • @Vortexas said:
I think the reason they don't is they probably use the same generic face to save time.

Not calling them out being cheap, its a good way to save time. I wouldn't be surprised though if nurse and Huntress's faces looked alike though just different colors.

The Trapper and Huntress have very different faces. Both have been unmasked in the past.

The Nurse has been confirmed to not have anything modelled under her pillowcase.

  • Because being immersed and doing only generators isn't going to help much at high ranks against good killer.

They find you once and you're dead, because you wouldn't have any experience in chases.

  • This is a horrible idea.

How is leaving one on the ground to bleed to prevent the other from taking the hatch an exploit? That's the purpose of perks like Knock Out and Deerstalker, is it not?

You're not supposed to wiggle out every time, or even often. It's meant to be a rare occurrence, which it currently is.
