  • Honestly, you shouldn't expect things like that. The Killer is under no obligation to "go easy" on you because of a disconnect; blame the coward that disconnected, not the Killer.

When that happens as the Killer, I don't want to waste 15 minutes farming to "make up for it", I want to move on to the next game as fast as possible.

but the bloodlust buildup is lost when line of sight is broken (thats what the wiki says). take the infamous loopshack (2 doors, one with a pallet on it, and a window). as soon as they turn the corner or jump through the window thats line of sight lost, so wouldnt that mean bloodlust is reset to 0, meaning whats the point in even having it?

No, you lose Bloodlust when the chase ends. They have to be out of sight for more then a few seconds. The chase isn't going to end when they turn a corner and are out of your sight for 0.2 seconds.

  • Well, it doesn't say

    * Complete this challenge in a single trial

Like every other challenge that requires it to be in one trial, so I don't see how they could've worded it better. If it doesn't explicitly say it needs to be done in a single game, then it doesn't need to be.

The Legendary skins, besides Cheryl's, all are basically Very Rare value in my eyes.

You say "all", but there's only two Legendary skins total, being Cheryl's and the Oni's.

So one out of two being worth Very Rare in your eyes isn't exactly an impactful statement.

  • The only thing that would change should've been his lobby animations, as that's the only difference that came with Lisa's legendary set for Cheryl. So it's a mystery why Oni didn't get the same treatment.

His sword would have to stay roughly the same. Even if he did get an axe of sorts, it would still have to share the same animations as his sword, and wielding an axe as such would look silly.

Cosmetics have never changed the killer's power, so his Kanabo should stay the same.

Honestly, if they were to change all of what you suggested, that would be so much work for a single cosmetic set that they might as well have just made a completely new killer with the resources instead. I doubt this one set that not a lot of people would purchase for one killer would make up the costs of all the effort it would take to make it.

    Just my two cents.

  • One tier is 100 Auric Cells, and there's seventy tiers, meaning it will cost you 7,000 Auric Cells, the exact price of which depends on your region.

Add another 1,000 Auric Cells to unlock the Premium Pass (though you'll instantly get that 1,000 back) and it'll cost 8,000 Auric Cells.

    1. The new Auras are good. They just need to be brightened up in intensity, and we're golden.
    2. Neither Keys nor Moris need to be reworked. They're both fine and provide interesting twists to an otherwise formulaic gameplay loop.
    3. Spirit should not be allowed to run Stridor. Change my mind.
    4. Survivors need to stop bitching about "missed" hits outside of projectiles.
    5. Killers need to stop bitching about gen rushing.
    6. It's not a team game. Other survivors are not obligated to come save you at any point; expecting them to is entitlement.
  • Presumably, they will be given out during livestreams and other dev-community interactions, and likely award Auric Cells/Iridescent Shards.

Can't really see it being much else.

  • Agreed, they look much more aesthetically pleasing, and fits with the theme of the game.

They just need to increase the intensity of the auras, and give them some sort of outline to make them pop out from the environment.

Regardless a player shouldn't be penalized cause of something they can't control.

In this one instance, yeah it sucks you'll get penalised because your game randomly decided to die.

But if you're the type of player who frequently experiences crashes, or has an unstable internet connection that disconnects a lot, or often have to leave the game to tend to real life situations such as children, or whatever, then the penalty makes sense. Regardless of it being your fault or not, you're still abandoning your team (as survivor) or completely ending the match (as killer), and that's not fair on the other players.

  • I think it's fine. You shouldn't be relying on flashlights anyway.

Outside of flashlight saves, using them is only going to get yourself killed. The killer's ears still work and can hear you running off after you blind them at a pallet, after all.

If you think new Lightborn is unfair, do you think the same about how Calm Spirit nullifies Doctor? Or how Object of Obsession and Maps/Keys destroys stealth killers?

  • Skill checks should be client side, not related to the servers at all.

Are you referring to them being choppy and making it hard to hit, or something else?

    Wait...

    Toggle?

Someone expand on this please. Can I turn the end game chat off? How???

You know the small button next to the chat with two arrows in it? That closes the chat.

    image.png

It stays closed until you reopen it again.

  • It's definitely true that Mathieu said they're open for a Friday the 13th Chapter whenever it becomes possible.

Whether it will ever become possible is questionable, of course.

  • That was implemented to prevent Hatch Stand-offs. The same reason as to why the Killer closing the hatch was implemented.

Now whoever gets there first will get the win. The Killer should have the advantage anyway, considering that they have a faster movement speed by default and doesn't have to sneak around the map slowly to avoid detection.

If they got there before you, they won.

  • None of what you listed are Legendary outfits. They're actually 'Sets', a linked outfit where all the cosmetics have to be worn together.

There's only one actual Legendary outfit in the game, and that's the Lisa Garland item for Cheryl.

  • They all have a much smaller frame compared to the male survivors, meaning it's generally easier to hide as them

  • July 3rd, according to LeaksByDaylight, so yes, today.

    No idea the exact time.

  • Because it's not a Legendary Skin.

Compare it to the Lisa Garland set. Hers is classified as the silver 'Legendary' tier, complete with a new model and lobby animations.

    Untitled Image

The Alessa set is classified as the purple 'Very Rare' tier and shares Cheryl's model and lobby animations.

    Untitled Image

It's basically Cheryl wearing Alessa's clothes, and the description of the outfit says as much. Exactly the same as Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Jake wearing the clothing of four Left 4 Dead characters; it doesn't actually turn them into Ellis, Zoey, Rochelle and Francis.

It was never advertised to be a Legendary Skin like the Lisa Garland set.

  • Well, that's what happens when they have the man himself come into the studio and help make himself.

That sounded weird, but you get my point.

I do "fully grasp" how much of a pain in the ass it used to be. I personally have every single killer and survivor prestige 3 as of this moment - far more time put into the game than the month or two required to get legacy on all of the 4 killers available back then.

The entire point of Legacy was to reward people who stuck with the game when it was quite frankly, absolute dogshit balance wise and severely lacked content.

Back then, we didn't even know if the game would survive until the end of the year. It does not matter if you have every character Prestige 3 now, because there's actually reason to do so. There's challenges to complete, skins to unlock, lore pieces to collect.

2016? You got a single piece of bloody clothing, and that was it.

  • I imagine they were the two most popular characters at the time the shirts were created, which IIRC wasn't too long after the game released, so they didn't have much competition.

    Bummer.

What are exclusives anyways? Why bother having events?

I wouldn't say it's a super big deal. But my issue is, the people who had to grind to earn it.

And then new players get it as a free handout because... Why exactly?

Those events were released before the in-game shop was a thing (or very shortly after in the case of the Scorching BBQ event), when they didn't have a finalised way of having people earn cosmetics.

Now that the Rift is a thing, they can allow people to earn them for free during the event, while also allowing people who missed it to cough up the dough if they really want it (like with the Hallowed Blight/Catalyst events).

I imagine they gave these out to everyone for consistency reasons, and will be following the new module from now on.

  • You realise that the bunny outfits are directly from the Silent Hill franchise, right? They're not new outfits the devs came up with to "be whacky and zany".

  • If you and your team were making mistakes left and right, how does that make the game unfair?

    I genuinely don't understand.

  • I don't think they've given an exact release time, but they normally drop stuff around 11 AM E.D.T, which for Australia, ranges between 11 PM on the 16th to 3 AM on the 17th, depending on your state's time zone.

Basically, it's really late at night when a lot of us will be asleep. Such is the way of Australian time zones.

  • Supposedly, the next Tome has been leaked to focus on the Wraith & Hag, though as with all leaks, take that with a grain of salt.

Nothing about the pair of Survivors we're seeing, but I'm personally hoping for my mans Jake.

True, I guess. I just can't imagine them running around without a gun. :P

It's alright. Just imagine they put their guns in an item box and are going for a knife only speedrun...

    ...Without the knife.

I think survivors shouldn't be able to 99% the exit gates,it completely negates endgame collapse.

The Endgame Collapse wasn't added to give Killer's easy kills for no effort, it was added to prevent Survivors from holding the game hostage indefinitely.

If them leaving the doors at 99% bothers you so much, walk up to it and open it yourself.

It's also not fair for the killer. Survivors can recover, and still pip. If someone DC's at red ranks...the chances of that killer pipping are almost none.

Well that too, but I didn't mention the Killer because they are impacted far less then the teammates of the DCer.

Still a ######### situation either way.

  • Yes.

I know it sucks, but it's really not fair on the other Survivors if your internet frequently drops, even more so if you're the Killer where the match ends entirely.

It's nothing personal, but that's how it be.

  • Why have the hatch exist in the first place then?

Soon as the third survivor is hooked, you could beeline straight for it, leaving the fourth survivor literally no chance.

The killer is already faster then the survivors by default, and don't have to move even slower then normal to avoid discovery. If they beat you to the hatch, that's on you.

  • There's no way to prevent them from doing it in the first place, but it's definitely bannable.

If you have **definitive proof** that they are actively working together to get the other survivors killed, then you can report them both.

  • Just had a Wraith disconnect in the first 45 seconds of the game, because he found me and another random on a generator together. Said it was because we were 'gen rushing'. We were barely a quarter of the way through it.

Said he had over 3,500 hours (profile private so I couldn't verify) and that he's been DCing frequently since Ruin got gutted.

  • Enabled on PC at least.

    Untitled Image

  • I'd rock Self-Care, Iron Will, We'll Make It & We're Gonna Live Forever (just as a flex, assuming points would be useless in a contest).

It's what I already roll with anyway.

  • They're removing the visible ranks because they're removing ranks entirely while they transfer over to the new matchmaking system.

Bit of reading comprehension would do well.

The release of these changes will be gradual. With the release of the mid-chapter update, we are able to start tracking skill levels. For the time being, this is only a test and is not being used for matchmaking purposes. Once we are confident that the skill rating is working as intended, we will be running tests on live servers.

When this happens, you may notice some disparity in ranks during your matches. This is to be expected as rank will no longer be used for matchmaking purposes at this time. To avoid confusion, we are considering removing ranks from the post-match scoreboard once testing is complete, as they will no longer be relevant to matchmaking.

  • Are you responding to me? Your comment about the skill seems to indicate so.

Seriously, looping really doesn't take skill. Give control of the game to someone who's never played it before, and give them the instructions of "run around that pile of trash a few times, and make sure to interact with the big wooden board before the other player reaches you".

Again, I said it's on par with face camping regarding skill taken, not the amount of input required.

Survivors can definitely survive without looping. I'm a Survivor main (as stated) and I do it all the time. It's by far not the "only way to outplay the killer".

I've heard breaking line of sight and hiding does wonders.

Lol did you just equate a technique requiring map knowledge and overall game awareness to something you can do without pressing a single button? i think thats a false equivalence there buddy

Running around a broken pickup truck a couple of times and tapping space to drop the pallet before you get hit hardly requires "map knowledge" or "overall game awareness".

As long as you have a pair of functioning eyes and basic cognitive skills, anyone could do it.

Keep in mind that I said looping took about as much skill as face camping, not as much input from the player.

Except 2 kills barely safety pips if you max out points at red.

and Survivors can successfully repair several generators and escape without pipping as well, yet they still won.

With the current ranking system and how messed up it is, judging a win by whether or not you pipped is asinine.

  • You got two kills. That's considered a win by the devs. Anything more is a bonus.

It's on you for letting the survivors pair up and find the hatch.

It's no different to Rancor suddenly activating at the end of the match and scoring an insta-down and kill on the Obsession who might've played otherwise perfectly the entire trial.

  • What's your point? Looping isn't fun for the killer either, and takes about as much skill as facecamping (i.e none).

Don't stand around the hook waiting for him to leave. Fix generators and get out of the match.

The only reason the killer would make any sort of decent points is because the other survivors are dumb enough to reward him for the camping.

    Survivor main saying this, btw

  • @kreeper124 said:

It's bannable since it's taking the game hostage, but I can't remember where to post a ticket about it

It's not bannable because the other survivors can repair all the generators and open the exit gates to trigger the End Game Collapse and put a hard limit to the game.

It's on OP for delaying the game by purposely not opening the exit gate after finishing the generators.

I love how people tend to generalize something and act as if T&C, TOA or whatever are above the law. Not even bother to ask where the person is from.

So I suppose I should be entitled to a refund to the base game then?

After all, the game isn't exactly the same as it was four years ago, when I bought it.

I spent $16 on the 2016 launch version of the game, they're not allowed to change anything in MY paid product!

  • I'd suggest two changes.

    1) The Killer cannot see the Broken status effect on the Survivor running the perk, unless it is afflicted to them in some other fashion (Unhooking themselves with Deliverance, for example).

    2) The Survivor starts the trial healthy, but will be unable to heal to the healthy state once they are injured for the first time. So from the killer's perspective, it may just look like they aren't running Self-Care and can't heal up.

Might actually have a chance to benefit from the perk, for once.

  • Watched the video.

Another survivor started the unhook animation the exact same time as the progress bar disappeared. Notice that they were unhooked about a second after the bar stopped, coinciding with the amount of time the unhooking animation takes.

What I want to know is why you all keep acting like I have done this because I'm a advocate for freedom and I get it majority of you probably have ancestors that stole my people's land, raped, enslaved and butchered them but that's okay we supposed to live by your rules on our rightful land? It's not all black and white you can be a sheep all your life but in my culture we still have our freedom also to the other guy because I know you are here microanalysing every little thing I post yeah you really think anyone is gonna mess with a 6'4 peanut butter complexion stallion raised off the land? You seem to believe or want others to believe that I would outright insult people because I believe in freedom of speech

    Now you've gotta be trolling.

Are you seriously saying it's alright to use racial slurs and hatespeech online because centuries ago, your "land" which taken from your cultural people?

Your culture has no effect in what you say online.

Here in Australia, we use a certain C-Word as a very common manner of greeting (and as a noun). However, it's regarded as a horrible slur in the United Kingdom. I'm respectful of that, and wouldn't say it to anyone I know from there, because it's not culturally accepted.
