bloodlust is too specific to be useful in most situations
bloodlust triggers while in a chase for a while, but you break LOS (line of sight), breaking a pallet or hitting a survivor. hitting a survivor i can understand, they can get away plus the burst of speed, and pallets i get because pallets are meant to stun the killer or slow them down yada yada. the LOS break i dont get. if bloodlust is made to help killer chases, and most chases involve loops, which usually break LOS, why does bloodlust go back to 0 when you break line of sight? why not a meter that goes up during a chase, and when LOS is broken it stagnates then after like, 2-3 seconds it deplete? ive found myself saying during a chase against someone with no movement addons 'im a base speed killer, and im chasing this guy for ages where is the bloodlust to help out here?'
can someone give me some insight on how this works?

Bloodlust is to counter very long loops or window abuses where survivor just runs you infinitely
but the bloodlust buildup is lost when line of sight is broken (thats what the wiki says). take the infamous loopshack (2 doors, one with a pallet on it, and a window). as soon as they turn the corner or jump through the window thats line of sight lost, so wouldnt that mean bloodlust is reset to 0, meaning whats the point in even having it?
No, you lose Bloodlust when the chase ends. They have to be out of sight for more then a few seconds. The chase isn't going to end when they turn a corner and are out of your sight for 0.2 seconds.
If you get bloodlust, most of the time you're overextending in a chase, wich is really bad for you (if you don't get a hit or a good pallet in 15s you're wasting time) so, bloodlust is actually a bad sign and not a very good game mechanic (it used to work back then, but now with gens speed it's just a warning to either drop the chase or get the hit ASAP)
Because bloodlust isn't primarily meant as a "the killer will catch the survivor eventually" mechanic, but as a sorta band-aid fix for the "God windows" that the devs tried to remove not too long ago by adding more doors to walls. Stuff like the old Ironworks window. As well as literal old-school infinites even though entity blockers did more to stop them.
If it was meant as a mechanic that "guarantees" the killer eventually hits the survivor then it wouldn't be lost by breaking pallets and stuff like that.
If those 2 conditions were the only conditions then bloodlust would be like PWYF.
Trapper with a honing stone could even use it to get more patrolling speed while still getting the down.
bloodlust shouldn't even be a thing anymore. It's a thing of the past when there was infinite loop and entity block didn't exist.
The chase system in this game is broken. I was had my hopes up back when Legion's chase breaking cheese was a thing because I was naive enough to think "finally, they'll have to do something about the stupid chase system", but boy was I wrong. Instead of fixing a broken system that would have helped out all the killers and the problem with Legion, they just reworked Legion and hit him while a handful of nerfs.
