Oh wow! I´m speechless. More like a paragraph than a chapter I guess, least they could do was to adjust the price accordingly.
...you do realise that maps have always been free, yes?
They have never been included in a DLC pack, so theres no reason the absense of one would affect the price.

I was suprised they changed almost nothing regarding the overall game. Did I miss which map update we get, can someone help me out please?
1 Perk change, 1 slight Killer buff and a handful of bug fixes? Regarding quantity, that´s a new low regarding chapters (unless I missed all the stuff that´s coming, in which case I´m sorry uwu)
Did I miss which map update we get, can someone help me out please?
Nope.
-
Nothing, apparently.
People got Hyped/Upset over nothing. Again.
As per usual for this community.
-
You guys just don't get it.
Chapter 19 is actually going to be Candyman, all this stuff in the PTB is a distraction.
Just you wait.

We’ve prepared a bite-sized Developer Update- a series of posts where we go over everything happening with Dead by Daylight. This one will be a little more brief than usual and go over some of the major changes in the 4.6.0 update as well as our future plans for hot topics.
4.6.0 Update
Decisive Strike
We’ve made some changes to one of the most discussed perks. Decisive Strike will now deactivate if you repair a generator, heal yourself or another Survivor, unhook a Survivor, cleanse a totem or sabotage a hook.
The intent behind this change is to remove instances where a Survivor can make some sort of progress while being completely protected by the perk. With these changes, Decisive Strike remains active for 60 seconds so long as you are only evading the Killer, and the only person who can make it deactivate prematurely is you.
Quick FAQ: Another Survivor healing you will not deactivate your Decisive Strike.
The Wraith
The Wraith will be receiving a few more changes besides the ones we made with the previous Mid-Chapter:
- Increased movement speed while cloaked from 5.09m/s to 6m/s
- Decreased movement speed while uncloaking from 2.02m/s to 1.6m/s
- Adjusted the Windstorm add-ons accordingly: Reduced movement speed bonus, removed uncloaking movement speed penalty
With these changes, The Wraith should be able to get around the map faster with less reliance on the Windstorm add-ons.
The Blight
They grow up so fast. We’ve raised The Blight’s POV to better reflect where his head is. Proudly tower over windows that once blocked your view and assert your dominance.
Colorblind Modes & Chat Filters
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/36MDXB6Z24WD/cb4.png
With this Chapter release, we are adding colorblind modes to Dead by Daylight. You can find new settings in-game to switch between default, deuteranope, protanope, and tritanope modes. These settings subtly adjust colors to make them easier to see for some players. Colorblind modes are our first step in increasing the accessibility of the game.
We have also added a chat filter to the game. This filter will act as an additional line of defense ensuring that you don’t need to see inappropriate messages in the first place. Our support team will continue reviewing chat reports as we have done in the past to make sure that players who are breaking the rules are punished accordingly. Although offensive terms will be filtered for you, our team has access to uncensored chat logs, and we encourage you to continue reporting any messages you feel may have been inappropriate.
For more details on both colorblind modes and the chat filter, check out this article: https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/trb-midway-update

Post-4.6.0 Update
The Realm Beyond
In the past, we’ve consistently shipped one or two graphically updated realms with each major release. We planned to continue this trend with another realm rework in this update, but unfortunately this next realm would not be ready in time for this Chapter. Rather than releasing what we have, we decided to postpone the next map update until it is ready. Our goal is to ensure that all graphical updates we release are up to our standards before we unleash them into the wild.
Work on the next graphical update is well underway, and you can look forward to seeing it in a future update.
HUD: Next Steps
In the 4.5.2 bugfix patch, we made some changes to the HUD with regards to your feedback. Discussions surrounding the feedback we’ve received are still ongoing, and we hope to share more with you soon.
Survivor Animations: Next Steps
Also in 4.5.2, we made some changes to Survivor movement animations to make them feel more familiar to long-time players, notably by removing some of the transitions between animations. Going forward, we’ll work on polishing some of these animations, including the idle and injured running animations.
With that, we’ve reached the end of this short (not actually that short) Developer Update. We look forward to reading what you think after you’ve had the chance to try out all of the new changes!
Here.

Survivor's design is neat, and her backstory is interesting. Her perks are whatever, nothing groundbreaking.
Really dislike the Killer's design, but I enjoyed reading through his backstory. His perks have decent potential, and I think his power feels really fun to play as.

Funny enough with that one music video, it showed that after the rewind, it had 5 seconds on it, funny enough its almost been 5 days since, that said video
I think your sense of time is a bit off sir, because it's been only three days since that teaser.

Do we know when PTB is live? I read here and there it is coming tomorrow, but I can't find a source...
No official source, but the PTB basically has always gone up on the first Tuesday after the Chapter teasers start rolling in.
That would be tomorrow. It fits the timeframe.

this isn't the actual trailer though, i dont think, so we've still got time. i actually think it's really interesting
Well, jester20k did specify teaser trailer, and I honestly can't disagree given previous teasers in the past, such as:
The Blight's shadow showcasing his painful transformation in the monstrosity he has become.
The Deathslinger's spear gun chains moving across the ground.
The Oni's tour of the Yamaoka estate, showcasing his mask sucking up blood.
The Spirit's depicting her painful demise and dismemberment at the hands of her father.
You get the point.
An audio excerpt of an interview seems pretty lame in comparison.
-
Sounds like the woman, Yun-Jin could actually be the Killer?
"On that day, don't come near the studio... it may be difficult that day".
That sounds pretty ominous to me.
-
That is a fair point. Interesting theory.
-
Dead Hard does not need a buff of any kind.
Sure, fix the issue of activating it but going down anyway to desync, but do not buff it.
It's already too strong for the amount of (lack thereof) effort and skill it takes to use, in my opinion.
-
Mods really need to make a megathread for all these topics being largely the same.
Half the front page at any one time seems to be about the same topic.
-
I don't they should be designing characters with their ethnicity being their primary trait. IMO they should come up with interesting concepts for characters, not forcing in boring characters for diversity points.
Adam is a good character not because he is black, but because of his backstory. A selfless orphan who has a passion for teaching others and moved to a foreign land because he was infatuated with their culture.
and whatever Jake is
Korean American.
-
We're Gonna Live Forever.
Helps gets the points needed to get my gear back faster.
-
Was the creation of this thread really needed?

I video proof showing be downed at the same time from a basic hit.
I watched the video you linked. That seems to be desync dissonance and is not intended.
Looks like the Trapper's weapon clipped both of their hitboxes at the same time, which is never meant to happen.
-
No, no Killer can.
Assuming by 'basic attack' you're referring to swinging the weapon and not using their power.
-
Don't try to do anything flashy or mind game them. Just chase them directly and force them to vault the window three times so they either have to leave the Shack into a likely deadzone you'll be rather close, or drop the Shack's pallet.
Either outcome is good for you. Trying to mindgame them and failing is just giving them more time to loop around the shack without using another allocated window vault.
-
DBD doesn't use VAC. Whatever you were banned for, it wasn't in DBD.
-
Perhaps they're saying this is their most ambitious chapter yet, their 'magnum opus' if you will.
Perhaps it means something different, we don't know yet.
Wait for more news.
-
Maybe, but obsessed with only one person might not make for an interesting killer,
ahem

It's not the 1990's anymore. It's a modern horror game set in the modern time with (mostly) modern characters.
If they want to design a theme with a neon aesthetic, then it makes sense since that's a popular aesthetic in the modern world, especially in locales like Japan and Korea (where its theorised the next Chapter draws inspiration from).

Isn't elodie from Australia?
An survivor from Antarctica would be nice
Élodie is French with Madagascan roots.
Definitely not Australian.
-
Someone from Australia, please. Only continent not represented in any way so far.
Assuming you don't count Antarctica.
-
i just looked and he had tombstone.
-
Only Xbox players have access to it at the moment. It actually drops for the other platforms in a bit over two and a half hours.
You might be better off waiting for it to drop and see for yourself.
-
Change the key binding for the struggle to something less noisy and prone to break.
I personally use the scroll wheel, myself. Quiet, easy to do, and I can do it with one hand.
Not a great solution, but it's there.
-
Feels RNG man.
-
I don't think there is another one. It's just Nurse this time around.
Nothing new to have only one rep per side. Tome 1 had just Trapper and Claudette, and Tome 6 had just Nea.
-
Does the game really need to have several dozen things that you do once, check off a list and then forget about? I'd rather have a engaging gameplay loop, thanks.
Not every game needs to provide million different things to do to keep playerbase retention.

well at some points when I am getting chased and I want to avoid running to confuse the killer and hidd, the timer goes down so it can be situational and harder to mend when getting tunneled or looked for.
Well that's the whole point. You're not meant to be in a good situation. You have to choose between pausing the timer by moving at the cost of giving yourself away, or trying to hide and hope the Killer leaves before you bleed out.
The Killer is supposed to have the advantage in that situation, not the Survivor.
-
That's the idea. The lower your bleed out bar gets, the darker your screen gets (to symbolise loss of consciousness, I'd imagine).
Mend before you get too low to avoid this.

why the hell do you think the C word is a minor slur?
My bad, I forgot that it's seen much worse in some parts of the world then others.
I'm Australian, for context. It's used very loosely and inoffensively here, typically.
-
@Mandy said:
you won't have the ability to turn it off no. You can still report people for chat offences, as we will see the actual words used, if you believe someone has used a bad slur against you or something.
Is there a particular reason why it's non-optional? I personally don't care either way myself as I'm not in the habit of harassing people in the chat, but I can't imagine why there at least wouldn't be an option.
Side note, I know slurs are now rightfully censored, but does the filter include 'minor' cusses (f**k, s**t, c**t, etc come to mind), because I think it's pretty hard for anyone to get offended by them.
-
No one's complaining about it because they've straight up said in advance that they weren't planning on doing big events for the Lunar New Year or Festive Season, and are now focusing on their Anniversary and Hallow's Eve events.
No one was expecting anything grandiose for this event.

Alright, but Pyramid Head's just about dude sized (except for his giant pyramid dome of course) and the knife + head combo are supposed to represent punishment and weighing him down. In Silent Hill 2, you could run circles around that dude.
Nemesis is a gigantic mutant monstrosity whos' biceps are probably bigger than my torso.
I don't think Nemesis would be all that much different in size compared to some Killers like the Oni, for example.
-
As much as I want it to be true, how do you 'know' a Resident Evil chapter is coming?

I don't know that
"Our game is really frustrating, but we wont fix that so just go play something else" is "Good and legit" advice
Except that the specific question he was responding to was about how the poster was getting genuinely angry and depressed in real life from playing Killer from how unbalanced the game was. How is suggesting they take a break not good advice? The entire stream had the devs already talking about their plans on balancing the game, so what do you think he should've said? Repeating what they had already talked about earlier that stream?
People have taken that quote out of context maliciously for years. No f*cking sh*t he doesn't interact with the community much anymore, with how immature and whiney it is.
-
They're present for me, and as you can see, already customised.
It definitely works in-game, too.
-
Last year's first teaser for Chains of Hate was on the 13th of February, and the Chapter was released on the 11th of March.
The year before that, we saw the first teaser for Demise of the Faithful on the 27th of February, with the full Chapter releasing on the 20th of March.
2018's SAW Chapter was an outlier, with the first teaser (18th of January) being shown only six days before the Chapter released (24th of January).
I'd wager a guess we'll see the first Teaser within a week or so from now.
-
The Anniversary Chapter is in June, not September.
-
It's fine. I don't like or dislike it anymore then the old HUD, and to be honest, I felt the outrage over the 4.5.0 one was way overblown.
-
Not on Steam.
Not on Xbox.
Not on PlayStation.
Should probably bother making sure you're complaining about something proper next time.
EDIT: Additionally, the age rating is stopping people from buying the games themselves, not playing them. It's perfectly legal for their parents/guardians to purchase it for them.
EDIT 2 Electric Boogaloo: Not that the age rating in my region is the same everywhere of course, but I can't imagine it's much different.

Survivors working together make it a team game tho, it doesn't really matter what the description of the game says.
Except, like the first line of my comment reads, "Survivor A does not win if they die but Survivor B escapes, and vice versa".
You do not win that trial if you died, even if another Survivor managed to escape. It's not a game like, for example, battle royales, where your whole team wins the match even if you didn't live to the end.
Gameplay mechanics encourage both working together and solo playstyles. There wouldn't be perks that encourage the latter if your goal was to have every Survivor escape alive.
-
It's not a team game. Survivor A does not win if they die but Survivor B escapes, and vice versa.
The store page for the game even mentions this.
Naturally, you'll have a better chance at escaping if you cooperate with your fellow Survivors, but it's by no means necessary. There's nothing wrong with not taking a hook for someone if you feel that won't lead to you escaping in the end.
Perks like Sole Survivor, Technician, Left Behind, Self-Care, Inner Strength and Power Struggle all encourage a loner 'selfish' playstyle, just like how perks such as Leader, Borrowed Time, We're Gonna Live Forever, Aftercare, Solidarity and Better Together encourage teamwork and cooperation.
-
@indieeden7 said:
Unless it's licensed, we probably will. However looking at the trends for the past few anniversary chapters, there's a good chance that it could be licensed so it's best not to get your hopes up for teasers.
This isn't an anniversary chapter, that would be the next one.
-
It's all good, because you can crawl backwards now to make up for it.

@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I kinda feel like the reactions to this update was worse than with the ruin rework.
It's hard to tell though
Because only half the community was affected negatively by that change.
The HUD change affected everyone, negatively or not.
-
He's probably just really good at the game. Most large streamers have several thousand hours clocked in, and as such know how to play very effectively.
I've got three and a half thousand hours logged, and I'd consider myself pretty good at the game. Skilled players can make basically anything work, including low tier Killers and Perks.
