  • I like the idea... give him some more viability...

I think worldwide is a bit too strong... maybe make it so they lose 3-5 tokens when they mori a survivor? That'd be cool.

I'd still prefer an addon to be able to chainsaw infinitely, with increased speed, but that there is a longer cooldown and it will cooldown on a successful hit. That would be fun, I think... (except on his map of course or ironworks, but you have to decide when to use it wisely.)

Freddy. Since his release it has always been Freddy. He has always been brutal he will always be brutal. I miss the old version, but the new one is almost as good.

I actually miss old freddy as well... not just because I got the Adept with that version, but because it takes skill to use him well... juggling survivors... but survivors will complain I suppose... : P

  • I always go back to Spirit if I've had a bad series of games. She's reliable... especially with a red mori. : )

Hello slugger, I would like to introduce my friends to you

    so right here is Tenacity

And over here is unbreakable. He is very popular

And over there is flip flop. A bit shy, but can surprise people sometimes.

Oh and finally here is iron will. He is really quiet so be gentle

I love flip flop as a perk. It's saved me every time I've used it, and is surprisingly viable. It basically earned me the Adept Ash achievement. It's the only Ash perk I like.

And I love the pic they have on it. A single wink saying: you got this.

  • I don't think anyone really like to be slugged or slug in general. The only reason I slug is just to be able to get a 4k if I can. If I don't think I can, or have BBQ, then I won't slug. At all.

  • Well, if Day of the Dead collection comes out first... probably Spooky Julie with her P3 mask. If not... then Idk. Probably my usual get up of P3 Julie.

  • All of the Above I think is the best option...

Imagine a match with Myers and Ghost face staring at you out a window.

With GF leaning out... that would just be funny to me. XD

  • On the Spirit's map, there's one beneath the main house, and I think each map has one... except for maybe the original ones (Autohaven, Coldwind, and MacMillan estate).

  • Well, it's already niche enough, so I guess you're right... that might make it a better Babysitter though.

Yeah, but the point is most of those add-ons are TERRI-

Are unique and only good if you don't need add-ons that much... Which Freddy doesn't really... Post-Nerf Nurse kinda will... Billy doesn't, LeatherFace does, Hag does, Myers doesn't but those add-ons cripple his speed greatly so unless its Lerys than no, and Trapper doesn't really need add-ons, but like most M1 Killers... buffing your M2 power that is already minor greatly helps.

So those are the Killers that do, and don't really need add-ons... But it depends on how you play those Killers, your skill with them and Killer as a whole, etc.

I know. I'm just adding to what you said since they may not know about them.

    Very true though.

  • With some killers, it's less useful, but I think that's due to them having Undetectable on them.

However, on killers like trapper or Bubba, they really suffer from survivors that know how to use them... except if they run into a trap, which is unlikely.

I think the concept is good, it just needs some minor tweaks. I think 15 seconds is a bit too long, since survivors that have borrowed time are very obvious about that they have the endurance effect.

  • @FireHazard said:

    @yobuddd

Here's how it works, the percentages DO stack up with other perks, but it's not entirely worth it so you don't see people using things like distressing with BBQ... etc...

Allow me to explain, BBQ at Tier lll gives a flat 100% bonus when you hook all 4 Survivors in a match at least once, the same goes for We're Gonna Live Forever when you rescue 4 Survivors off the hook (It can be random) and wait until you're given the "Safe Unhook" bonus afterwards, you also gain tokens when you take a hit for someone with WGLF.

The point is though, BBQ can stack with all other BP perks, as well as offerings like Puddings and BPS (Bloody Party Streamers) But the reason nobody uses the other BP perks with BBQ... is because they're quite niche and worthless to have in your slots as a Killer.

I highly suggest you don't use perks like Distressing to increase deviousness by 100%, Beast of Prey which gives 50% to the hunting category, etc... Since besides BBQ and these other perks... there isn't many BP perks in-general... and the ones that do exist are terrible except BBQ because it gives a aura reading WITH the BP gain.

That's why nobody uses Distressing, Beast of Prey, etc... Because their passive ability's are horrible... Just stick with BBQ and a BP offerings like pudding or BPs and you'll be fine tbh, the other perks are so bad that it isn't worth it...

If you want, you can use Hags BP add-ons, Myers Scratched Mirror, LeatherFace and Billys Speed Limiter, Trappers Padded Traps, etc, to gain more BPs with your regular perks, but that's up to you if you want to cripple their powers to gain more BPs.

Freddy also has an addon to reduce slowdown for more points, and nurse is getting two addons to increase BP gain.

  • Well, the main thing is that perks that give point bonuses for certain categories help with filling the category more easily... which if you play well, will fill regardless.

BBQ on the other hand, acts like a Gruesome Gateau... (except minus 3%) where it essentially multiplies the points you get at the end.

  • Distortion: Breathing isn't as big an issue, since this perk is mainly a counter to BBQ, but gaining tokens back is the buff it needs.

Aftercare: It's fine, I don't think it needs a buff personally, since if you're playing right, then you'll never get hooked and it'll work.

Breakdown: That's a nice QOL change.

  • Sure. I don't see it as an issue, maybe DS/BT will be used less often because this'll be buffed...

  • I think Keys and Adrenaline are more frustrating than NOED, which doesn't work 75% of the time, but that's an opinion.

Technically, there are ranks for killer and survivor... but most treat that as in name only. Since ranking up requires people to play semi-badly in order to get a pip.

Pennywise would be awesome or maybe a Victorian Era killer based off of Jack the Ripper. It would be amazing to run around killing survivors dressed in Victorian attire. Maybe we could get a Jack the Ripper cosmetic in the future devs. Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge.

Nurse and Doc have victorian attire too. : P

  • I mean, it's effect is so minor... it'd make it more balanced. You have a bigger great skill check area when wounded, but there are more skill checks in compensation. Fits with the theme.

    I like it.

  • No. Just because notifications are supposed to be reliable. Diversion gives you the opportunity to create a distraction, a notification for the killer, of the cost that you can't use a different perk instead of it.

    It's a powerful concept. Don't underestimate it.

  • Well, on Xbox, there really isn't a cheater issue, nor is there an overly toxic player type to avoid... since most survivors in all honestly aren't very good. However, since the player pool is small, you get to know everyone... however indirectly. : P

However, default characters can be a coin toss. They can either be really, really good, or really really bad. Doesn't mean I dodge, but still something I notice.

Those were just explanations at the bottom of how it would work. Oblivious does not do what I suggested.

Oblivious ONLY hides TR, and makes TR related perks not work for that survivor. Oblivious does NOT hide Red Stain, hide chase music(well maybe you could consider that it does considering all you hear is Freddy's Lullaby, and he's the only one aside from Demogorgon with oblivious, but this is basically replacing chase music/heartbeat), hide from Spine Chill or Premonition, etc etc etc. It does one thing.

Those perks have nothing to do with Michael though, and he generally doesn't even use them. Most Michael's use Monitor and Abuse(you wouldn't need to with this rework unless you were focusing on the obsession). Lore wise, they may have some merit, but in game you pretty much always see a Spirit with Haunted Grounds, a Pig with Surveillance or Make Your Choice, a Legion with Discordance, a Doctor with Monitor and Abuse, a Freddy with Blood Warden, a GhostFace with one of his perks(I don't have a problem with any of his perks personally except I'm All Ears), a Demogorgon with Surge, a Nurse with Nurse's Calling or Stridor, or both, a Bubba with BBQ, a Billy with Enduring, Clown with Coulrophobia or Pop or Bamboozle, etc etc.

How does your obsession not changing make anything more difficult, including builds? In most games your obsession will not change. Most people hate Furtive Chase, and while DS is possible, it's not like any perk is going to suffer by the obsession being the same. And as a character, Michael Myers doesn't randomly get obsessed with someone new. He focuses on one person(Laurie), and just kills anyone else in the way. If the obsession not changing would be problematic, there could always be a solution in addons with some other changes.

I just don't think Myers being able to kill whoever just DSed him is appropriate, and Furtive Chase wouldn't really work anyways because if he caught the obsession he might as well kill them, and by then Furtive Chase would be pointless because his TR is for all intents and purposes 0 to all other survivors.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/778274#Comment_778274

I did explain how each mechanic works step by step. Each paragraph(or occasionally one-two line sentence) is a different mechanic. If I lumped any of that together, or separated it more, it would not be coherent at all. The only thing that isn't mechanics are the last two paragraphs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/778533#Comment_778533

The similarities between GhostFace and Myers are pretty frustrating, and Myers is the most fun when you don't know where he's coming from. I got rid of both of those problems with one suggestion, and he even moves faster than he would have if he stayed in tier 1 with Scratched Mirror. GhostFace now is really better than Myers, unless for example, Myers is using infinite tier 3 or something extremely powerful and manages to get it off. He's even harder to see in general making him much more difficult to keep track of. Myers was also nerfed recently as Spine Chill and Premonition work against him now.

Then maybe you're not explaining what exactly you want this new status to do... since all you're asking for is (that I see) the red stain to be hidden and the TR to be hidden... Undetectable does this already (you are correct about oblivious). Why not just apply Undetectable to Michael in that case?

I know most Michael's don't use them, but lore wise they are his perks.

If the obsession does not change due to perks, it gives Michael builds less variety and limit him in a way that just doesn't need to happen. It's an unintuitive change.

I just think this rework is kind of dumb, in the long run.

It's clear we'll continue to disagree.

I was with you on this until you said "please prove me wrong about you" - that is unsettling. You were 100% right with your comment that you brought to the table until that. Please clarify. And, if that is saying you think I'm a bad character, I'll take that as a personal attack. And no, you didn't misinterpret Xboned's comment. I did. :)

I was referring to the fact that you seem biased in favor of HOD to the point of twisting words and writing possible insults to what I interpreted as legit criticism. Not about the Xboned comment. I'm not saying you're a bad character, but you have actions I wouldn't agree with during your discussions.

I was asking for you to prove that statement wrong.

  • I'd rather see Slender, A knight/medieval killer... I have a lot of things I'd rather see than another licensed killer at the moment. Especially since their unique killers are more interesting to me and will probably get lore entries in the archives.

It's not just because I've made whole concepts or anything... but I have. If you're interested I'll link them, but I won't presume.

  • I play both, but I prefer killer. I think it takes more skill, but I know there are things like (perfect looping) that I'm not good at as survivor.

  • I hope to see every unlicensed killer get some attention in the archives (although BIlly doesn't make sense, but still). I can't wait to see a cutscene of huntress taking on a platoon of german WW1 troops.

Or Ace on the run from the Mob.

Or maybe being able to hear some of Julie's songs. : P

  • In theory it's OP, but in practice? Not really... not against survivors who know to avoid huntress hatchets.

  • Actually... it's because they know they can outrun you and are waiting to see if you're still chasing. It's a tactic, since killers either commit, and they get distance and give their team time... or they leave them alone, and they can save it for a later time... and he'll have given their team time.

    It's all very calculated.

  • Survivors used to be first person during development... then the devs decided against it. There is actually a reason for this... since nobody wants to just stare at a gen the entire time.

In lore, I think it's due to the entity observing their actions, whereas they have direct control of the killer.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/778171#Comment_778171

First, Is it not broken up enough? I separated his power into parts by how they work.

Second, yeah, his perks are not related to Michael at all. They're only affected by the obsession's existence, which the perks themselves create. Most other killers have perks related to them in some way. Michael's simply focus on letting the obsession live until the end with no real relation to that obsession for Michael himself.

Third, Oblivious only allows you to not hear TR music or heartbeat, or be affected by TR related perks. Unaware combines Oblivious and Undetectable, and also makes you unable to see the killer's red stain, hear chase music(meaning you don't even know when he's chasing you without seeing him), and cannot detect the killer through Spine Chill or Premonition. Also Oblivious makes it so that TR related perks do not work, this doesn't. Any TR related perk still works, the survivor just does not HEAR the TR or heartbeat.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/778133#Comment_778133

Basically, Michael can kill the obsession with one down, and cannot one shot anymore, but they can hear his normal TR, see his red stain, hear his chase music, etc. Any other survivor gets literally no indication of Michael's existence other than by seeing him physically. They cannot even see his red stain or hear chase music when he's chasing them. Oh and his obsession cannot be changed through perks(DS/Furtive Chase).

Some may not like the paragraphs to the bottom. I read through them, but others may not. It's just forum advice I guess.

I'm saying oblivious already does what you're suggesting. Why make a new thing to do exactly what oblivious does... unless you want BT to work against him?

They are, to a degree. In the movies, he's obsessed with Laurie, and leaves her to last. In both Halloween and Halloween two. He does indeed play with his prey, especially with the bedroom scene. And it does seem that the light of hope dies for laurie during the climax... So I have no problems with his perks (except new dying light) but I do have a problem with them being attached to an "obsession" that isn't affected by other obsession perks. It makes it a lot harder to work with, and create builds for him.

Beast of Prey: exactly as it is now, except add "Gain 50% more Bloodpoints for actions in the Brutality Category."

There. Perfect. Then, between the Brutality and Hunter categories, it adds up to a 100% gain (Distressing has a gain of 100% in Deviousness). I mean, it's really more of a farming perk than a mind games perk, might as well embrace that.

I know. I'm just saying it shouldn't be a priority compared to other perks which need attention... like Insidious. That needs a major rework. Or Huntress Lullaby, which is supposed to be a swap out for Ruin, which it'll never be...

  • @UberMorpth said:

I think rework would be more of an appropriate term as many perks are just straight up terrible and a buff wouldn't fix em here's some random examples I came up with.

Monsterious Shrine: Only usable with Iron Grips and Adgitation which both aren't that great to begin with otherwise terrible perk at the moment, perhaps a new effect could be added or increase the debuffs to survivors on the basement hooks.

Beast of Prey: The fact this only actives after getting Bloodlust negates the possible mindgames as that point unless your looping the survivor at a los loop they will still be able to look behind and see you coming at them, I'm not sure how they could improve it currently maybe make it activiable after getting Bloodlust? Otherwise I think it just needs a rework as it also doesn't fit Huntress's playstyle.

Overcharge/Pog Goes The Weasel: I lump these both in as they do the same thing Ruin does but worse which is stalling the game out, let's not forget you have to waste time kicking a gen, is even worse with PGTW as you only have at most 30 seconds to find a gen which means not chasing anyone during that period of time. The worst part for both of these is they are completely negated by a survivor just tapping a gen to cancle out the effect, perhaps they could make it so you have to actually hold the repair action to cancle out OC or PGTW for like 5 seconds.

Monstrous Shrine should just be base kit.

Beast of Prey: I think it's fine right now, but should get some attention in the future. I'd rather other perks get looked at first.

Overcharge: I like the idea of having two difficult skill checks instead of one. But Pop shouldn't be combined into it since Pop is powerful on it's own. Especially at T3, when it regress 33% or so of a gen's progress.

I do the same, but imagine how a new player must feel to join their first game as either role, do bad and then receive a message berating them and being hostile. It leaves the worst impression of the game on them, and chances are they won't come back. I've seen it on the Xbox Clubs where a new player simply posted asking for help since he was new, and was then attacked by several others telling him he's useless and needs to leave the game and don't come back because baby killers/survivors won't be tolerated and they'll make sure any game they have is hell. The player base on this game is already low enough, but to have people pushing more away isn't right. People all seem to forget that they were once brand new to the game and did the exact same things. We all have to start somewhere. Nobody is the best from the start

Well, I've never joined a group, so I'm not sure if that's what happens...

I completely agree though that it isn't right. All I was saying is that I've never seen that happen to me... except once I did receive hate mail once.

  • First off... it needs to be broken up for simplicity.

Second... no, his perks benefit from the obsession's existence in a game. If the old dying light were still around, then I'd consider it, but I think Micheal as a whole is fine. Maybe tweaking how T3 works can be a good place to start with balancing, but I don't think your proposal works... especially if the obsession isn't changed by DS/FC.

Third... there is a status effect for that in game which is called oblivious.

  • Hm... I mean, I haven't seen many players like that, myself, but I just move on and find the next game... see how I can do better, and such...

    It's not strawman.

I got in trouble with the mods for pointing out someone's hypocritical posts so now I'm refraining from quoting a problematic user with a Killer role bias.

And limiting the Aura views isn't limiting BBQs usefulness. Most players use it for the stacks. If you are 8 hooks deep and have no idea where the Survivors could be...

A.) you are doing really good wrecking the Survivors as all 7 gens are still up.

B.) go to any of the remaining gens

Just because something isn't glaringly obvious as being overpowered, doesn't mean it's not overpowered.🥴🥴🥴

You claim that everyone is shouting at you! How is that not?! XD

There are times when people wouldn't've gotten kills without the aura reading to nudge them in the right direction. Myself included.

It's designed to make survivors more aware of the risks of watching someone get hooked from a distance.

I have a question, would you want DS or BT nerfed? Your logic at the end should apply to them, because inherently with bad survivors those perks are near useless, but good survivors can make them OP. Will you follow your logic or will you show anti-killer bias?

wraith and huntress are original characters. You honestly think Davy Jones would be cooler than the eater of worlds and face of the deadlights?

I think Pennywise is overrated. Sure, he's got a recognition factor, but that's about it.

  • A pirate killer in general would be cool. I already made a concept on this site, if you'd like to give it a read:

    @Raven014 said:

    New Killer: The Pirate

Lore: A sailor once lost his leg to a bull shark, so he built himself a new leg and a device to capture and kill the shark. He did eventually find it and killed it. Then he found out how good his device was at getting people too, so he became a pirate. He was said to be lost at sea years after his debut.

The truth is now he's in the realm of the entity, hunting survivors and trying to get more treasure.

    Killer's Kit:

    Speed: 115%

    Weapon: Harpoon Device

Secondary Ability: He uses the harpoon device, it looks like he's punching the air. however, he does this to counteract the force of the harpoon being fired. If it hits a survivor, then he'll drag them back. the harpoon locks into the device again, he ripps it out, then puts the survivor on the shoulder. It's range is roughly a little longer than the terror radius. There is a massive drawback to missing: he has to go find the harpoon on the ground and retrieve it. It will not return to him unless the line is in a survivor and taut.

    Teachable Perks:

Fish in a Barrel: For as long as the survivor stands still, they will fill a meter until exposed. This charges after 40, lasts 30 seconds, and has a cooldown of 60 seconds per survivor.

Eye-Patch: Through head trauma during your life, you have lost your left eye, however. Field of view decreased by 30%, but sounds are increased by 75%.

Hidden Treasure: All spawned chests are guaranteed rare or ultra rare items and/or addons, but survivor action speed is decreased by 75% when opening and searching chests and their aura is shown to the killer for 10/12/14 seconds.

    Survivor: Romeo Esposito

Lore: A young playboy who came from a rich family, he spent his parent's money as quickly as he could. From women, to expensive trips, he was nothing but a drain on the family's resources. When he went missing on a usual trip to the Bahamas, his parents didn't miss him, but rejoiced. Now a burden had been taken off of their shoulders. They did not report him missing.

If only they realized he was lost to a fate worse than death.

    Teachable perks:

Lover's Quarrel: Whenever hit by a killer, you gain a token. This increases luck and the rarity of items found in chests. You lose 3/2/1 tokens for getting downed.

Blind Love: Your love for your teammates shows. Your action speed when near other survivors are doubled, and the amount of skill checks increases by 100%. Your item consumption is also at a 100% rate.

Spared No Expense: You understand that now is the time to get things done. For every finished action (completing a gen, cleansing a totem, searching a chest), you gain a token. Bloodpoints gained during the trial are doubled for every token.

  • For me it was seeing Achievement hunter play it. What sold me was the Freddy vid they did. As an experienced player now though.... they don't use any perks and don't use addons... and they don't really know how to play certain killers. They couldn't even use GF's stalk right, I dread to think what they'll do to Demogorgon...

It just seems that they were decent with the simpler killers, but the more advanced ones of late are too much for them to look into before recording.

Don't get me wrong, I still find Ryan killing people mercilessly as funny, but in a similar way I view a bunch of new players going against me when I'm killer... a little disheartening at the same time.
