Survivors really misuse Balanced Landing

Not saying all, but a lot of survivors at all ranks “waste,” their balanced landing in my opinion.

Theyll take a bad loop or go to a weak part of the map just because it has a hill so it’s obvious what they’re doing.

My favorite is when they run up to a ledge and literally wait 5 seconds for you then jump off last moment, uhm you realize had you just kept running forward you would actually be further away?

  • They are not misusing it they are taunting you

  • Most killer don't got a counter to the distance made up by BL. Especially on a hill a survivor will make sure to waste the maximal amount of your time by standing around there waiting for you to walk up.

  • Actually... it's because they know they can outrun you and are waiting to see if you're still chasing. It's a tactic, since killers either commit, and they get distance and give their team time... or they leave them alone, and they can save it for a later time... and he'll have given their team time.

    It's all very calculated.

I understand attempts to taunt by waiting, teabagging at pallets, etc those all just waste time.

In regards to not being able to make up the distance, again I know the purpose of exhaustion perks but when you stand still so you can use it you give up more distance than if you had just held W.

same kind of people who run from pallet to pallet, waiting so they can drop it when you get there without actually stunning you. It’s just not the most optimal way to use them.

If survivors are waiting before jumping off, it means they need the killer at a certain position so when they jump off the killer can't just walk back the other way and cut the distance short. This should be obvious, it's part of Looping 101.

If they are not gaining any distance from waiting, then it means they are checking if you are planning to commit to the chase before spending their load to get exhausted. It's possible you may give up and look for easier prey. It might even be a bluff and they don't have BL at all and are just making you think they do.

These are the intricacies of the DBD Chase Mindgame.
