  • Xbox really doesn't have a lot of bugs compared to PS4. It suffers from the same thing though, which is framerate issues, sensitivity, and a bit of lag problems.

Buy an Xbox? I'd rather deal with the bugs and lags on the PS4 😅

Xbox doesn't seem to be plagued with a lot of issues though... not compared to the latter. I'd understand if you didn't want to lose your progress on PS4 though.

Okay you must've added 1 too many zeros or something.

100k is almost 4 devotions. Imagine 1 milion shards

Exactly... but you can't get a lot with shards regardless, and it would be cumulative, just like Bloody Millionare. There are people with Devotion Lv. 8 already anyway, so it's not like it would be hard on the player's part. It's just a time investment one.

If there was a story mode with an ending...

I'd want the story to be about escaping the Entity's realm, then at the very end, when your character goes through some super special portal that's supposed to lead them out, they end up right back where they first started. Possibly with their memory wiped.

The Entity was feeding on their false hope the whole time.

That would be the most fitting "end", wouldn't it?

  • The Entity is a lovecraftian entity... they can die, but not after only a few years. That takes away from it's power, and ultimately, it's horror. Maybe hundreds of years in the future, when it cannot be sustained on it's current food model... but It's only getting stronger as of right now.

  • It's just a trial for the killer in question (licensed killers, which they stopped doing with Pig). It's not supposed to be a "game where I can play as this killer for free with my perks on THIS killer".

I don't think they'll ever get changed. Maybe discontinued in the future, but not changed. There are far more pressing issues.

  • Maybe not as a licensed killer, since he's a old folklore character. But he could work. : )

I don't find killer fun. I survive only. Every patch it's getting harder and harder to be a survivor. Is this why they released SWF?

Maybe that's an indication that killer needs buffs. : P

  • The Adept killers should be a 4k without any moris. That way it's difficult, but not impossible.

The Where Did They Go? achievement change would dilute the achievement for those that have it, and isn't necessary. Some achievements should be difficult to get.

Left for Dead absolutely needs a change, but I'm not sure how.

That is why you play killer, to burn a Red mori offering.

Possible names for the proposed achievements:

The Foundation of Misery: Complete the Generator in the foundry of Ironworks of Misery.

Crow's Eye View: Complete the Generator on the Balcony of the Thompson House.

Just Needs Gas: Complete the Generator in the Garage on Gas Heaven.

Power it Up!: Complete the Generator in the Treatment Theater.

Iridescent millionaire: Raised from 10,000 to 1,000,000. This keeps it in line with the Bloody Millionaire achievement, since neither are difficult, it just matters how much time you put in.

I would also like the level achievements (become killer/survivor at ranks 10/5/1) to be added to console, just for consistency.

  • It's not a serious game, and since all perks and addons are, I don't know why killers aren't available. It'd let you test them out and see if it's worth you buying.

You can't get cosmetics without buying the character first, and you would still have to have 4 others to play with... I think that's balanced. But then again, I'm on console without any friends who play DBD, so... yeah...

  • A lot of killers are understanding and will let you go if they understand that you were betrayed. I would.

Mainly because they could be on your team later...

It doesn't apply to pallet hits or hits in general, just whiffed lunges iirc

Thought so. I don't use those addons much in favor of Rotten Pumpkin + Green Vines addons, which I think are the best.

Ooh, right okay gotcha'. Got too excited thinking about the dumbness of short-cd-shred lol..

That would be overpowered, but there is an addon to reduce shred cooldowns... I don't think they apply to successful shreds though.

  • Pop does more progress, which, ultimately, is what matters in a game.

I also find it more reliable, since you can control which gen it effects, since you can't really end where a chase ends when you catch the survivor.

  • @BearJaw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/765446#Comment_765446

.. it cuts shred short too? Holy lord I'd not realized O.O! Well I'ma use the crap out if that!

No, not it's shred. Shredding doesn't remove tokens, which is why it's so good on Demo.

  • I have no idea why they decided to neuter Remember Me. It was decent and required you to not tunnel the Obsession. Pair it with old Dying Light, it could be powerful... but required a risky gamble. Now Remember Me is just pathetic, and Dying Light is the opposite of what it used to be... which I think goes against the intention of it.

I would rather have every perk be strong than none.

  • @BearJaw said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/765345#Comment_765345

Same, I run DH, TOTH, TT, and any 4th. Big boy is fun as hell!

My favorite build for Demo is DH, STBFL, Pop, and a Free Fourth.

You can keep STBFL stacks if you shred the obsession only. It's funny to hear the demo scream cut short, and it keeps you right on them. People underestimate the strength of this perk, but there are times where I down survivors when I normally wouldn't.

Pop, to reward me for constantly hooking people. (It's a backup for if DH gets destroyed.)

You can keep your totem up by activating a portal on it, so you don't need TOTH... but it'll be more secure if you do have TOTH.

  • I mean, I take what I'll take, but if I can get a 4k, I will absolutely go for it.

Although, my survivor has a different winning condition... to get head on to work once per match.

  • Devouring Demodog. Gotta love the cute lil' guy. : P

  • @Ryuhi said:

I legit only play my "bad" killers after a rank reset because they're more likely to be viable. Once i get back into red, its back to spirit and freddy all day.

I'll still play Legion, just not as much. Right now I'm loving playing DH Demogorgon, since you can actually keep your totem alive if you play it right, and you're guaranteed at least 1 mori. : P

  • Well, Instaheals were a problem, not medkits by themselves.

Hopefully this change will be a slight nerf to the anti-heal meta, since an instant heal will not be as powerful, but there will be a lot more people who will use it still, I think.

Honestly, this isn't a big issue.

  • Well, after getting to red ranks, it sometimes becomes painful playing Legion, so I switch to other killers, like Spirit, Micheal, and the like. I'm kind of more a jack of all trades kind of player to be honest.

  • The "goal" as set by the game is to survive... but I find that boring/frustrating in solo que, so my goal is slightly different... to get head on to work at least once per game. That's for survivor though.

As killer, I just play to my best, if I get people, I kill them... If I don't, I don't. That simple. : P

  • Honestly, I'm a fan of all the music in the game. In general though, I like Micheal's and Demo's best, just because they sound so different to everything else.

  • Underpowered, but can be forced to red ranks if you know what you're doing. They're heavily information based, so being able to act on that is what defines a good Legion player from the mediocre ones.

    @Tensor said:

    Overall, possibly underpowered.

If Feral Frenzy was changed to not reveal the location of people in lockers, then he could be buffed in other areas.

I disagree, since that is part of the reason they have the perk Iron Maiden. I personally think the change they need is to DW, since if their power wasn't centered around that, they could have much more freedom.

  • No, just because if you know what you're looking for, you'll usually know what killer it is in the first minute of the game.

However, as some of the others have said, if every killer had their own music, then you would instinctively know what killer it is, ruining the mystery.

My proposition is if they ever implement this, that if the survivor doesn't "see" the killer, keep the music random, but when the survivor knows what killer it is, then it uses the specialized music.

  • @Gemaniacal said:

Terror, first allow me to compliment your enthusiasm. It's much appreciated.

Like another user mentioned, earlier in the month the HOD dev's decided to completely switch up their game plan, and our anticipating their relaunch soon.

They have actually decided to use more of the DBD formula, where it will either be 4v1, or 5v1. And the Hunter(Killer) role will be permanent per round. The maps will also be shrunk down to accommodate this new approach.

I was actually just visiting the discord server today, to read up on news (don't know why, since I'm only a console player whom can't even play it, lol). One of the dev's mentioned they are a fan of DBD's progression/leveling, and they intend on relaunching the game with a similar system.

So I suppose now more than ever, they will be more closely resembling DBD. The question remains whether that title will continue being more of a casual/party asymm, or have a more competitive edge.

Personally, I am keeping a closer eye on Last Year: The Nightmare, with their upcoming relaunch (speculation points towards late October). While I appreciate HOD's art style, LY is just impeccable look wise. But with plans of porting to console soon after the PC relaunch, and with HOD not having any console plans at the time, LY will end up being the initial true competition. Especially with rumours of the F13 servers shutting down by years end. Those players will want a replacement that's not DBD, and LY will be that similar Party Horror game.

Excuse my novella, this is my first post on the forums, got a bit carried away, ha.

I didn't even know that Last Year was coming to console... or that it could possibly be coming soon.

  • I wouldn't call it a threat, but more of a very slight competitor. It has its own variation on asymmetrical horror, similar in a way to how Deciet has multiple killers that have to work together to win, Hide or Die is more of a battle royale version of the one killer/multiple survivors format (based on what I've seen). DBD is unique in the way it's game plays out. Just like Hide or Die is unique in that sense too. But this is my take on the design aspect on it. It also not being able to retain a player base shows that it isn't a strong competitor or even a "Killer" of DBD like you describe it.

Overwatch was supposed to "Kill" TF2, but it didn't for similar reasons.

I think @SpaceCoconut covers the more technical aspects better than I could.

And @Xboned makes some relevant points: that it isn't on console, which is a big factor for quite a few players (myself included), and that not everyone wants to play both roles (because if you are bad at one role, and are still forced to play it, even if you are not having fun, you can't have a chance to play the part you are good at... at least if you are good at killer).

Survivor seems very weak, since they have limited stealth options and ways to temporarily stop the killer.

And, to me, the designs of the killers don't really make sense to me. Why aren't killers variations of survivors due to the only difference between them being that darkness consumes them? Why do survivors become completely random people when they become killers? What is the darkness in this game? At least the Fog, the Entity, and the Realm are semi-explained in DBD as partially lovecraftian concepts. All Characters (killers and survivors) in DBD make sense, and the gameplay elements work (maybe not as well as they should in some situations, but that's neither here nor there).

Based on what I've read from your responses, you seem more intent on pushing any criticism underground while only taking what you want from it. Like when you responded to @The_Manlet. They were talking about how the game made no impact, less so than Last Year. You somehow pull out the idea that Last Year did badly and that HOD is going to surpass them, which as @SpaceCoconut pointed out, is pretty hard when a game's population is 0.

You also described @Xboned's real criticism as sarcasm, which he genuinely wasn't being from reading his post.

But... that could be misinterpretation on my part. Please prove me wrong about you.

I'm fine with freddy as is or how he was. Though him now I have a lot more mind games potential at least it feels that way.

I had a game on The Game with old red paintbrush, and it was funny how many times people would run into me. One even sent me a message asking where my heartbeat was. XD

Edit: Comment was correct initially, you might have just misread or misinterpreted what I said. Don’t blame you tbh, it is a wall of text after all :)

I have my sweater boi. I don't play nurse either 😂 she was fun though but just not something that has me like :0 I love this killer 100%. Freddy is freddy and I love it, Legion are edgy leather teens, demogorgon is demo. Basement trapper is fun for trapper when you can get it. Spirit seems to be fun just has a little learning to it first and when I was on console I said I'd play her as another killer to main but gave up.

I used to like Freddy when he was weak... he's kind of lost me though, tbh.

I do love a good Julie game, and Demo and trapper can also have good games with the right setups. : )

  • His portals make it very easy to know where people are if you play it right... especially if you want to defend a Devour Hope totem... : )

If you have DH, you won't need shred so much... but then again I play on console.

  • The original movies with all the horror icons are good to watch, but Halloween is the best of them.

Think of it as a "warning" rather than a ban on your account, you're limited to the following above for however much time it's placed on you.

These individuals may be told how long the "warning" will last, but that's unclear to me personally as I've never been jailed to know if that's true or not...

Regardless, if you're jailed, the next time you break a forum rule your account will get banned for a certain amount of time, I think it starts at a 1 week ban than a 1 month ban than perma? That information is more clear if you go review them on the forum rules and bans sub-forum.

I do know this, if the offence is severe enough it'll skip all of those time frames and just go straight to a perma ban, and some bans can be given without warning depending on the offence.

    Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

  • I like the creativity, but I'd rather have the ability to just make pallets vanish, and, hear me out, act like traps to survivors. If the wraith makes a pallet invis, he could trigger it when they run under it, breaking it at the same time... it'd make wraith a little more feared again...

  • She can, theoretically, down a survivor from anywhere on any given map. There is a reason she has 110% movement speed. Maybe 112-113% might be fairer for her, but she should not be the same speed as an M1 killer.

I'd rather see her hatchets fixed, since her hatchets hit things they shouldn't and miss things they shouldn't...

  • @Kycer said:

After the nurse nerf, moris are the only thing left to deal with sweaty SWF groups.. so yeah.. they shouldn’t touch moris until they do something about SWFs.

    This. Right here.

That, and killers have very few games where they can relax in high ranks, Moris give this opportunity.

  • Oblivious should apply to aura perks as well, since it does very few things already.

Oh I'm sorry you got so hurt. It seems that I always attract the wrong people. Where are you when people talk about nerfing spirit on a higher level than I do? Nah, nowhere. And where are those "nerf spirit" people now? Nowhere to be seen, only when someone says Spirit is fine.

I'm trying to make changes that will stop the river of tears from survivors.

Ad hominem arguments are worthless and make you look bad. Stop targeting the person and go for the ideas. The only reason you wouldn't is if you know your idea just doesn't work.

  • @pemberley said:

I feel like I’m the only one who finds her just as hard as nurse.

Nah, when I first started learning Spirit, I found her just as difficult... but then I'm on console, so maybe it's mechanical skill as well... : P

  • @Snapshot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/757001#Comment_757001

But they also made nurse more difficult now, pretty sure they will also adjust Spirit in one form or another ;)

Nurse needed her blinks for movement, not just a chase. That was never what anyone besides survivor mains wanted. It was a nerf she didn't deserve. Her addons absolutely needed reworks, but not her base kit. It was really severe and not necessary.

  • Uh... have you played spirit? No. Collision is one of the few ways the Spirit can locate people while phasing... if you don't have a good headset.

There are ways to counter her, you just need to learn. It's the same for Nurse and any killer, really.

  • Small Game, Kindred, or Spine Chill. I'd absolutely recommend each of these... but one stands above the others.

Spine chill is good to get used to being aware. It lets you know that you need to look for something... to pay attention. You shouldn't rely on it too much, as it may be great, but you will become over reliant.

Small Game is good to find totems and watch out for traps. When you learn totem and trap spots you'll work your way off of this just like with spine chill.

Kindred is the best non-teachable in my opinion. While it doesn't seem like it'd help you at all, it allows your teammates to act more coordinated while you are on the hook, and punishes campers. They will be able to make decisions as a team without coms, which covers the biggest weakness of solo que. I often find myself running this even at purple ranks since people often make dumb decisions because they are solo survivors.

Wut. 360's absolutely do not work against Leather faces chainsaw. Well they don't work in general unless the killer is bad, but LF's chainsaw specifically attacks in a 360 arc, it's literally impossible to dodge it with a 360.

I've seen it work, but it's very unreliable.

  • I think Huntress' is the best single killer's lore. I dunno why... maybe the giant russian lady taking on a platoon of german troops with nothing but hatchets and the russian winter... intrigues me.

Clown is cool just because of how close he is to an actual killer clown. O_O

Spirit's alright... never clicked with me though. I like her design, not so much her lore, because it's not her fault she's there and it seems like a cop-out. : P

I like the Darkness Among Us for best overall lore chapter. I like how the map, survivor, and killer(s) all link together nicely... and how Jeff left his mark on the map.

Best lone survivor is probably Ace. It's one of the most cliche, but he's on the run from the Vegas Mob! I just want to root for the guy. : D

Licensed I don't really want to talk about because there is almost no creativity with it. Oh, Freddy was about to kill Quinten? ENTITY! Micheal was about to kill Laurie? ENTITY!

Even Steve's and Nancy's were uninspired.

I will say, GF's and Pig's were cool though. Every other licensed felt cheap... except maybe Bill and Bubba as well...

  • I kind of wish they did what they did last year... but what's done is done...

  • Interesting... it could replace Rule Set No. 2, and RSN2 could be basekit since it deserves to be...

...LoL, I may have helped inflate those Legion numbers, because that is not normal. AT ALL.

But then again, that statistic of popularity of killers doesn't really help much, since how many of them are actually played Legion, then got stomped. It doesn't show a lot of relevant data... especially with that last graph, since that's clearly a joke graph.
